Since I was first, I just want to say be BOLD go out and proclaim what you know and let the Spirit be your guide. The time is short and the Lord only knows what is coming down the pike.
I'm being bold with my students, parents and co-workers. Trying to have Jesus' name on my tongue or worked into conversation at least three times a day. As many times as I have a meal........oh no that means I better up it to 4 or 5 times a day. I throw that challenge down and blogging doesn't count it has to be face to face.
You know bread of life. Let's hear some feed back on that one.
I threw the challenge out to my kids in our prayer in the car on the way to school. My first grader was able to relate back that she was trying to get the kids in her class to get along. I was able to have a heart-to-heart with a mom who is struggeling with her children and recommend chiristian books and ultimately a good ole talk with the Lord.
I love how God lays out those opportunities. There are none to small......go out and grab up the ones He lays out for you:)
Hi Jenny, I've been feeling that need to let Jesus loose a bit more lately, too :-) I think my main stumbling block is the (misguided) worry that I'm responsible for the whole process, that if I start something with a person I've got to do everything right to make sure it leads to their salvation (if they're not saved) or to their realignment (if they're off track or being lazy about their faith.) I have to continually remind myself that my only job is to open my mouth in response to the Spirit's prompting. And I also try to focus on the fact that I've got Christ alive and well inside me so the worry about getting it just right before I attempt to share my witness is nonsense. He is more than able to work through me when I submit to His leadership in my life.
Today I started talking with the kids about the call they'll hear from Jesus someday soon. They're 3now and are getting more familiar with Bible stories, etc. but aren't quite ready for the more complex topics. But it was quite cool to hear their thoughts on how it will all go down. La, being the girly girl, thinks we'll all sprout wings and fly up to meet Jesus. Josh insisted we'd all ride rockets and Matt thought we'd all be able to jump really high to get to the clouds. They were concerned about me going, too, and I said that anyone who loves Jesus will get to go when we hear the trumpet. La said that some kids in her class don't love Jesus and that makes her sad so we talked about how they can show God's love to those kids and help them know how much Jesus loves them. (I think she's talking about the kids who cry when their moms drop them off...there is one little boy who gets very aggressive and I think she views that as not loving others, so he must not love Jesus.) Such innocence! It's really refreshing when compared with all the stuff that adults have to deal with these days.
I was talking with God today as I scanned the sky...I find myself doing that alot these days. I was wondering what Jesus is actually going to look like as he appears and gathers us. Into my mind came the image of a huge staircase, very wide at the bottom, made of the clouds. Jesus was walking down those steps toward earth. Of course I have no idea how things will pan out, but it was a beautiful picture to treasure and stash away in my mind.
OK - gotta move toward sleep and sweet dreams. Blessings to all, Jen
Lisa, Shalom! I think Crowley's book was an attempt by the Evil One to co-opt the religious numerology that represents G_D, for the Evil One's purposes. It's like this this girl in Texas, who was told she could no longer wear a rosary around her neck, because "that's a gang symbol."
Shalom, all! Just wanted to throw something more out about Sept. 29, the day before Rosh HaShanna and the day of the big dip...
Sept. 29 was the feast day of the archangels Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. You know, archangels, the ones that hold the heavenly trumpets to announce the arrival of the King...
(Yesterday, Oct. 2, BTW was the feast of the Guardian Angels. You don't need to know his or her name, just a simple "Thanks" will do.)
I noticed what Sarah said and she did appear to "come up short" on the topic of Israel. But I believe she is firmly against Israel giving up terrority. Making Palestine a country is name more than land. I don't have a problem with them having a country, let them go out into the dessert and make one. Shoot! The Saudi's have enough land, let them go there!
Please pray for me this morning. I have an ultrasound on my thyroid that might end up with a needle biopsy.. I really don't want a biopsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are there enough exclamation points to convince you?
thanks PS: Jordan's aunt said "Thanks for praying"
Hi Granny- three weeks ago, for the first time, I heard about Bullinger/Companion Bible! I now have the large print version. I can't believe the amount of information in the notes ect. The first thing I noticed was the structures of each book. I recognized this literary form, but was unaware that the books of the Bible are written this way, or that no other literature in history is written this way! I can't wait to study useing this Bible. Just yesterday I was wondering if anyone else was aware of this Bible.........then you posted!
Hi Lori, WIll be praying for your test. I recently had a similar one done because of a nodule found on my thryoid. The biopsy wasn't bad and actually the harder part was the recovery afterward which I attributed to bruising. Swallowing for a few days felt like when you have a sore throat, but it's totally better now.
Nate, About Sarah Palin's Israel comment...some posters on another board commented that while her reply was not encouraging, they weren't convinced that she would go full-throttle in the 2-state direction because of comments she made previously supporting Israel. They also mentioned that if she stated anything about Israel maintaining their land, it would go against the current Israeli leadership's own view on how to achieve peace and it might not be wise to make that departure at this point. I didn't like to hear it either, but I'm going to wait and see how exactly the Lord might be planning to use her. We know the end of the story (Israel stands alone to face her enemies) but the details between now and then are sure to surprise us all. I'm daily praying Ps. 27 for all our leaders, potential leaders and our nation in general.
I think most of us non-Catholics know we have a guardian angel.
But I never heard of feast days for Archangels. Where is that in the Bible?
Every feast day I know about all point to the coming of our Lord Jesus. Everything though Him, by Him, and for Him.
Jen,
It's great to see your long post. I can relate to your witnessing dilemma and realized the same thing. We just can't spend anytime worrying about whether or not the seed takes hold & sprouts. That's between them & YHWH. So the burden goes on the shoulders of Jesus because we can't handle the weight of it anyway. Of course every time we have a chance the seeds will get another sprinkling.
We are storing up our treasures in heaven so it doesn't matter if we don't say the "right" things that we think should make a dramatic impact. Nor does it matter if we look like freaks to the world. This world is expiring & the kingdom is everlasting. Let’s all just keep our eyes upward and persevere. The Holy Spirit takes care of all the details.
I ordered these "ticket to heaven" tracts. They look like a little yellow ticket and it says "Ticket to Heaven, if you don't need it tear it up." (The fun part is that they don't tear.) On the back are the 10 commandments- from the Living Waters ministry.
I've been giving them to waiters w/the check, @ the grocery store, drive troughs, friends, here & there. Will it convert someone on the spot? Most likely not. But they may pause & give it some thought. Then someone else may come along to water.
The rosary. I didn't know that "gangs" wore them. I know our former nanny who is Muslim also uses the rosary to worship Allah.
I have not researched this but I do believe the rosary started as a pagan practice & then in the days of merging the Pagans & Christians together it was adopted by Rome.
Take a look and see what you find. I just got a book called “Pagan Christianity” but have not had a chance to read it yet. Right now I’m reading “The Tabernacle: Shadows of the Messiah. Its Sacrifices, Services, & Priesthood by David M. Levy.
Personally, I think Joe Biden did a great job. Sarah made some great points, too. I definitely was turned off by her statements about the two state solution. I can't imagine she meant anything else other than what this present admin has been pushing for, but we'll see.
(sigh) Just when I was ready to turn off the PC and go to sleep...
Feast days = spiritual birthday celebrations. Those are usually celebrated on the date of a saint's death, which is his or her spiritual birthday, entering heaven. Angels don't have birthdays, of course, so these dates got fitted into the calender way back when for some reason we don't know now.
Rosary. Gotta be careful about this word. Spelled with a capital "R", and you're talking about the prayer. Spelled with a small "r" and you're talking about the set of beads that are used as counting devices. In this case, the girl wanted to wear the rosary around her neck like a necklace. That is officially discouraged, since it's not to be treated like jewelery, but it's very common among some ethnic groups. The thing is, gangs like to take simple items that normally wouldn't arouse suspicion (hats, jewelery) and use them in some way to identify membership. Wearing a rosary like a necklace shouldn't attract any attention, so apparently some gangs in the area have worked that into their gang ID rituals.
As for the rosary originating as pagan practice... The Rosary (capital "R") didn't arise from pagan practice. The rosary (small "r") came from the need to keep track of Psalms.
For centuries it was required that priests pray the Psalms every day -- all 150 of them. In order to keep track of where they were during the day, some started carrying bags with 150 small stones in them and use that to keep track of where they were. Eventually it became a length of string or rope with 150 knots tied in it. The laity wanted to join in this pious practice, but it was too hard for many of them to make the time needed to memorize all 150 psalms. So instead of Psalms, the "Our Father" was used; and instead of a loop of string with 150 knots or beads on it, only 50 knots or beads were used, and the sets of prayers were prayed at three different times a day. Each group of 10 beads was organized or set off from the others, and a meditation based on the Life of Jesus through the eyes of Mary was attached to it -- The Annunciation; the Carrying of the Cross; the Resurrection, etc.
By the 1200's the Albigensian Heresy arose. This heresy taught that there were two supreme beings: God, who was good, and The Devil, who was bad. By the 1300's the heresy had grown so big it threatened the life of the Church. The story is that Mary appeared to Dominic and told him to make a rosary in the form we have today, and to teach the Rosary and preach on it to everyone, which he did. The thing is, as the practice of the Rosary spread, the heresy diminished until it was simply gone within a few years. This heresy that the Church had been trying to get rid of for over 100 years disappeared a few years after the introduction of this prayer. That's why Catholics are so devoted to the Rosary and consider it such a powerful prayer.
dad in law made an over night miraculous improvement in his status and is now home, able to go up and down stairs. wednesday he couldn't walk to the bathroom by himself and had to be wheeled in a wheelchair and thursayd he was a whole different man and is even better than he was thursday
God is good.
thank you all for your many prayers on my in laws behalf
Nate, I like what Pat Robertson (700 Club) had to say about the election. That it's (for the most part) all about, "Judges, Judges, Judges." Who will the new President appoint to the Supreme Court. (of course, we know it's more than that, etc.)
Also, Olive Tree Ministries said, (earlier this week) that this economic crisis would lead to Jewish persecution. When I read that, I knew she (Jan Markel) was right. It fits Bible prophecy, as well. For the Jewish people to return, to Israel. Does God cause the persecution? No, but He permits some things to happen.
Lisa, Aha! I see you bought, Pagan Christianity. I read it a couple of monthes ago. Let us know some of the things you read, okay? It's interesting, and also very well documented. A good book!
Lori, Agreeing with you in prayer, for a good check up. (although it could be over by now?)
Jenny, Welcome! And keep on posting :)
Jib, God IS good! And good all the time :)
May everyone have a good day in the Lord Jesus Christ!
"The physical "rosary" is not a Christian invention. It was, and is, essentially a tallying device, known in Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. It has had the same function in Christianity since antiquity (pebbles, strings, chains)."
Pre Christian
"The use of various devices for counting prayers must have arisen in most cultures from the earliest times, our ten fingers being the obvious and most primitive. Prayer beads as such, on which the sum of prayers is worked out, are not a discovery or invention that can be attributed to a single source. The earliest reference to a string of prayer beads I have come across is associated with the cult of Shiva, in India, in the pre Aryan period, that is before 1700 BC.
The oldest reference to prayer beads to be found in the literature of India is in the Jaina canon in 4th cedntury BC as a device used by Brahman monks. It may be that from India the use of prayer beads spread, northward through Tibet to China and eventually to Japan with the spread of Buddhism, and simultaneously westward through Persia to Arabia, on to Egypt and so to Europe. However it is much more likely that such a simple device as a knotted string or a string of beads evolved amongst any group that required a means of counting. The recitation of multiple prayers would also seem to be widespread."
So you explained about how Catholism adopted the rosary & as always your a walking Catholic ecyclopdia!
"For four hundred years or more it was generally accepted that the Rosary was given by the Blessed Virgin to St Dominic in a vision."
What was the vision?
"His mission (in re: to the Albigenses) was not successful and, according to legend, in the year 1241 he retired to a cave in the woods near Toulouse. After three days of fasting and prayer, the Blessed Virgin appeared to him accompanied by three queens and fifty maidens, the number clearly corresponding to the pattern of the psalter. She raised him up and kissed him, and in the style of mediaeval mystical eroticism quenched his thirst with milk from her chaste breast. She then told him that not intellectual thundering against heresy but a gentle remedy against sickness was required. "Therefore if you will preach successfully, preach my psalter." The blessed Virgin then vanished together with her entourage.
Restored and armed with the rosary Dominic went forth and reconverted the Albigenses to Catholicism. The Cathars who did not believe that Christ was a real man, born of a real woman, such as he, Dominic, had now experienced her to be, were to be persuaded by the statement proclaiming: "And blessed is the fruit of thy womb".
So you have the man Dominic who's having a hard time converting this sub group who did not believe that Christ was a real man, born of a real woman.
He goes into a "Cave" in prayer & fasting and has this vision. (Mohammed did the same thing mind you.) "Mary" shows up with her band of handmaidens & tells him to use this "rosary" to convert those Albigenses into believing Jesus came from a woman and therefore was also "real man."
Superfically it doesn't seem like a bad idea but the Bible says Jesus is our intercessor & High Priest. So why does "Mary" show up? How come so much attention is drawn away from Christ & YHWH to saints and "Mary"?
This experience was to uplift the status of Mary in order for these heathens to be convinced Jesus is divine and "real human " because He was "born from Mary a human." So in adopting this ritual with the rosary-it worked on this group. Was the fact that it worked for St.Dominic's purpose the sole proof this supernatural encounter came from YHWH?
**Islam also has a high regard for Mary.
There is too much familiarity here with supernatural encounters and those who experience them do not test the spirits.
When did these "Mary" visions, dreams & Apparitions begin? Was this already adopted in St.Dominic's day? It certainly continued throughout Catholic history but of the dreams, visions, and apparitions I know about that are non-Catholic Mary never shows up.It's usually Jesus or an angel. (I'll start paying more attention)
Galations 1:8 "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!"
Hi All---just checking in now that I am firmly ensconced in LIFE down here in Mississippi. The move went well, girls are in school and extra curricular activities....
Jim Carroll--so different down here in that your 8th grade confirmation is now 10th grade confirmation and your 2nd grade communion is now in the 3rd grade! How odd! I have no idea what to do just yet because as much as we move, we could only be here for a year--and perhaps could walk into a situation where they both would have missed the opportunity. Any thoughts on this?
In finding a church down here I have had the opportunity to stop into a couple of amazing places--one called Bellevue Baptist and one called Central. Oh my--we are doing a weekly Bible study on Esther with a FANTASTIC speaker at Bellevue. I am thoroughly enjoying myself! I only wish our Catholic churches would provide more women's ministries, etc....(easy now folks, dont want to stir up any controversy--just commenting)
Anyway, I am really LOVING being here! I feel like God is all around me wherever I go! I mean, you go into a gym and they're just chattin' up a storm about Jesus! :)
Loved catching up on the posts...missing you all....we are certainly in an interesting time....
And I thought I was in the Bible belt in TN. Great to see your post!
Cutting Edge has some good comments today on the Palin/Biden debate.
This was interesting:"The Fascist Economy is the planned economy of the New World Order. While it dramatically differs from Capitalism, it does provide a healthy living for the average citizen, as the Japanese Fascist Economy proves. People in the Middle Class do prosper under a Fascist Economy."
When I went to bed last night we were still on the discussion of numbers. Then I come in, thinking I wonder what Lisa is up to? and you have all moved on and how.
Nate, you called it right and what a crying shame that this sort of thing is running rampant and no one is saying anything. Just like when Hitler took over Germany. But as was stated by Joyce, rebellion will always bring you out from the covering of God. So does unbelief.
Lori, I am praying for your whole health building to be cleared of all add on elements and pronto. WE got work to do for the kingdom and just asking anymore, of God to bring about the healing virtue of Jesus' stripes brings results.
JIB, Aw, the joy of the Lord is evident in your comment about Father-in-law. I know what that feels like believe me.
I truly believe that real healing from the Stripes of Jesus Christ will only increase as the time grows closer.
I am believing right now for a new malady, slept without my pillow (contour) from early this morning and now I have a terrible stiff neck and spasms. So far, I can scream Jesus real loud and it is great feeling the grabbing stop. When I get over this, I am filing charges against Satan and his co-workers for violating a Heavenly Bound Body that belongs to God!
Jim C. are doing alright with your new job? I have been praying and believing that this is just a stop gap until the real one comes along.
WEll, I have to get my work done and it is a slow process. Keeping you all in my prayers and supplications before the Lord.
You all, it might be wise to pop over to www.debka.com and check out the news. In addition, I have the subscription to their news alert email and it is fantastic. The things that they tell you are happening, well you can count on it being the truth. Check out the news headlines and if I could still see the tagging format, I would list them all here. Just reading the headlines is a real blood thriver.
Thanks for the links, Grany. I get Debka's alerts thru email, but have not paid too much attention to them.
However, the headlines there are all pretty amazing!
The first article in Debka states that:
"US president George W. Bush went over Israel’s head last week and promised Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to hand on to his successor as done deals the issues covered in the talks Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert and foreign minister Tzipi Livni held with Palestinian leaders, DEBKAfile’s Washington sources reveal...."
And Bush is a friend to Israel? I'm missing something.
Donna, the reason President Bush is going after this like a hog to the corn bin is the fact that he has been deceived into thinking that the Church replaced Israel. However, saying something and do it are two different things and I for one am praying that the Holy Spirit land on him the revelation of his error and doctrine. That the Holy Spirit convict him and turn him around. That as a people, who are commanded by our Commander in Chief (Jesus Christ) we are responsible for praying that their understanding be enlightened and that they are atune with the Word of God as he meant it!
So, Donna, once again, I say Pray sister, pray!
Also, while we are talking politics, I bet you enjoy Joe's pretty teeth too, now don't cha??
A long time ago, I really admired Joe Biden and at the time, he was just a freshman Senator from Delaware. At that time, he took on the big shots in congress and they whipped him good but he still stood by his statement. The nice part about it, he was right on the money. So, I admire anyone who will stand up for what they believe and are believing the truth.
Donna, no they are his own given to him by his Heavenly Father. Aren't they pretty though! One of the things that impresses me about Joe Biden is the fact that he is loved by the people of his community in a family sort of way and also by the whole state of Delaware. Now that matters to me because that isn't the way it most generally is. Then the other side is the fact that he resides in Delaware and commute to Washington DC every session. Maybe it isn't a big thing to some people, but I like the idea of a elected official keeping close to his constituents.
I happen to like his personality and have more respect for him and trust him far more than I do BHO. I am still not past Rev. Wright you see and I don't buy Obama's story either. Nope!
Nate, you are right about all of the parties but I would like to remind you that we have no guarantee whatsoever the elected one will keep their promise of not dividing Jerusalem. When the State Department starts speaking most of these great men, become very weak willed and cave in to let the State set policy. Franklin D. Roosevelt was one of the few Presidents who did his own Foreign Relations and it stirred the pot. Also, Harry Truman was one who went against the grain with the State but not many more were capable.
I for one am still praying and asking for God's leading in this matter. He knows the ending before we can even start the beginning.
There are some more articles on Debka that really got my attention. But there are a lot of services out of Israel that beat our news hounds all to smithereens.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and don't worry about what the government is going to do or not do. We have an Heavenly Father who's Do's are lot more important and are a sure thing.
Yes, Grany, you are right, He knows what He is doing. And yes, we all need to continue praying for all of our leaders, leaders to be and for all people for that matter! Thank you for these reminders!
This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced. From the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values. We all need to be on our knees. Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders to behold. His scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do so. We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land.
2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as the bombing stopped.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America . The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever! If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, 8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific, stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States , our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, for wisdom and courage for our leaders, the up-coming election, and that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.
If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along.
Someone said if people really realized the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.
grany you said; "Someone said if people really realized the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have."
Amen and amen. I had the exact same thought this morning when I awoke! The Holy Spirit was impressing this on me as I was praying in my dreams again. How wonderful, He impressed this thought to me and you put it down in print to confirm His word. God Bless!
GT We already have the victory but after you run the race, you have to make your self available for the crown! Or medal, as we know it today. Praying while you sleep is profitable and pure communication and I used to be worried about it until my little grandson, Wesley, told me that he woke up hearing me praying for a problem that he was having and hadn't told anyone about. As he listened he began to pray too and when he got up the next morning the problem was gone! I wasn't even aware that I was praying, I was too busy trying to sleep.
At the time I was trying to deal with the health problems of both my Mother and brother, taking care of two households, and all of the financial responsibilities involved with it. Many times the finances just didn't last the month but God always provided and he even softened hubbies heart to help us without fussing. Pray changes things and it should be first nature to us as believers. Hubby even purchased us a 4 door car, brand new, that got excellent gas mileage and was a delight to get in and out of. What a blessing it was.
Can I now share with all of you a real praise report? Well I am going to anyway so here goes. Yesterday, I was in horrible pain and knew from past experiences it could last for a long time. But~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hallelujah! I am healed and shouting it to the Lord! Praise His Holy Name! I dreaded TRYING to go to bed last night, big time. The slightest movement would send me into fits of horrible pain in my neck, ears, and spine. Then it was almost impossible to remember how to position my head so the pain would subside. My head literally was going down to my right shoulder and the stress on my neck was exacerbating the whole thing constantly. I finally took a huge moist heat pad that you put in the microwave, heated it until it was warm enough to help, rolled it and put it around my neck. This pad is designed for the hips and back so it was quite long. By rolling it, the support was then completely encircling my neck and it did help. But I was having to keep it there all the time. Well, as I was trying to figure out how I was going to even get to a prone position, another spasm hit me and it made me sick. I heard myself say "Jesus, help me!" Jim went on to bed and I still didn't know what I was going to do but I heard in my inner self, "the problem came about because you slept without the pillow so put the contour pillow down on the sofa, add other pillows and gradually remove them as you can". Wow! Well, I did just that and low and behold I have no more pain! This morning I awakened in the very same position I went to sleep in last night and there are no more spasms and my head is straight with out leaning one little bit.
I know people can not or will not believe that God can and will do these things for us but people, He longs for us to seek him out in the tiny details of our life walk. Before anyone says, that solution probably came from your head, let me tell you something, I was hurting so horribly bad that nothing was coming out my head except Help Me Jesus! I couldn't even eat anything yesterday and only took fluids but thank God I have a good supply of Ensure powder on hand and also, liquid meals in case of a disaster of any kind that limits our intake of body needs.
Jesus did promise that he would be with us and never forsake us; he did say that all that do come to him he will in no wise cast out; there is a song that says "The Name of the Lord is, a strong tower, and all that run into it are saved"; and it does say that "by his stripes you will be healed", by his stripes you were healed", by his stripes you are healed", so what part of those promises is a lie? You were saved by faith weren't you? You get healed the same way! By the Word that was made flesh and dwelt among us.
it is likely also that we don't bother Him enough because we expect to do everything or fix the small stuff ourselves.
one of the things that God has been impressing on me lately is
1-if we seek His kingdom and abide in Him, He will bless us. He doesn't necessarily bless us if we don't seek and abide 2-you have not because you ask not
Yes, indeed prayer is one of our most valuable weapons in fighting the good fight in this world.
Five years ago, I lost both of my parents with in 48 hours of each other in unrelated illnesses. One was visiting me in Corpus and one was at home in Houston. At the time, I had a 1 yr. old, 3 yr. old and 8 yr.old. Needless to say , between all that running back and forth between each cities ICU's and shipping them back to Michigan to their final resting place (that is where I grew up and their plots were all paid for , etc.) it really took a tole on my two other sisters and I. Thankfully we are all believers, but it was still extremely difficult.
If it not for my beautiful Christian church family, extended family and PRAYING friends, we would not have made it through or been able to accept the grace that the Lord was offering us.
Not only was prayer answered, used and given....it was FELT. It felt just like Jesus wrapped us in His arms and carried us through that difficult time. His peace was received by my sisters and I because people were praying for us to receive it.
I have never FELT prayer like that before and will never underestimate it again. How miraculous is the one we serve??? There is NONE like Him. How honored are we that He seeks us.
Let's encourage others to accept the Seeker as well. After all, we are on the winning team and the outcome is glorious.
I can't wait to meet you guys at the victory party:)
Thank you GT and Granny for sharing. It got my spiritual juices flowing!
FTGF, Jenny
I agree no request is to small. Let us lay it out on the table before Him and He will deal with it accordingly. If He has every hair on your head numbered (I know that is more for some than others...ha) than the number of prayers for our Lord could never be too great. The only limits that go before the Lord are the ones we set on Him. Thankfully, He doesn't hold us to it.
jib you said; "it is likely also that we don't bother Him enough because we expect to do everything or fix the small stuff ourselves."
I'm right there with that one, but I must remember the following:
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
I keep forgetting that it says "in ALL thy ways". LOL
I also have been getting the "you have not because you ask not" passage. I thought I was "asking" but must be missing something since this passage keeps occurring in my thoughts.
I found a wonderful web site that belongs to a great church in the State of Washington. I am going to post the link here but the sermon that is presently being shown (Karl Zetterberg) is great for just such a time as this.
Watch it and see if it doesn't speak to you too; it did to me, greatly!
GT, I am still doing my "Whoopie" dance and Jim is set to run out the door! Well, that is because our cat is fighting with the neighbors cat over our cat's territory. Do you suppose Our cat is from Pakistan since our neighbors are from India?
Anyway, Shabot didn't budge and now the foreign cat is licking its wounds and heading home. Hey, we got an international conflict right here in Okieland! LOL
Jenny (Scott Robinson's wife), I know those times of separation from our loved ones are very, very difficult and it takes a lot of time to heal. But God! Oh, yes, I know the feelings and what is so very precious about it all is our friends can get very busy and it might mean the phone is silent, the doorbell doesn't work like it did but God! Well, he is always there and nothing satisfies like His loving arms around us and leaning our head on his shoulder. Let the tears come to wash away the sadness and memories of the cherished touches we all never want to end. God gave us those tears and Jesus shed his freely also.
It is the trying by fire that strengthens us and makes us fit for the Masters good work. There are dues to be paid if we are to be in the service of the Lord and thankfully, it doesn't all come at the same time. It only lasts for a season but oh, the blessed release when the season is completed.
Remember that God told Joshua "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, as I promised to Moses." {Josh 1:3 RSV} and he also told him that although the land was promised it would not come without a formidable challenge. There would be people positioned to stand between what God has promised and life in the wilderness. Yet God promised Joshua that no man would be able stand against him. Just as he had been with the patriarch Moses, he would also stand with Joshua. But if the land is filled with challenge it is also filled with the prospect of victory. It is the prospect of victory upon which God focuses Joshua's attention, not the size of the challenge. He is promised that, "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you." {Josh 1:5 RSV}
When I was living the last days with my mother and brother I kept hearing and reading those words that God gave Joshua and I just couldn't see the victory in what was coming. But God! Well, he had a better home for my family members and some Kingdom work for me to be carried out in His name. I could never have accomplished any of it without His Word and the Holy Spirit's indwelling me and comforting me in the hardest days of my life. It does something to you when you know the Hand of God is directing the events taking place and it also is a very humbling time with lots of groaning in our inner most beings.
Jenny, it is great having you share with us and I want you to know what you shared has deeply touched me today. Thank you!
JIB, you have to be a perfectionist in what you do but it is God who gave you the desire to be one. He designed you to be just what he needs in this season we are now in. The one thing I used to love doing and really applied the labor to was sewing. I would sew to relax and I loved tailoring to the point of exclusion. My driving desire was to create a garment that no one could tell was custom tailored. I thought that would be the end of it but after the first goal was achieved there was a new one set in motion. The reason I loved tailoring was the feel of the fabric, the challenge of the created garment and the pleasure of the recipient. But I was my own worst critic and I drove myself to do things that were not necessary and used up precious time. Now I can't even see the eye of the needle and if I could get it threaded, I don't think I could see the details needed to keep it all in line.
I seem to get focused on details to easily and I have a whole house of unneeded and obsolete objects that when we are gone will probably be added to the dumpster to fill up the landfill in the area. I am so glad to know that I can't take any of it with me because I am truly sick of it already.
Good Will doesn't even want it! How is that for a climax to my life? So, what we have done for the Love of God and His kingdom is all that will really matter in the final chapter of life.
Mac, has anyone heard from Thuunda? I have had him on my heart it seems like the last 4 months and it isn't getting any better right now. Do any of you remember how to get in touch with him?
If you have his contact info, would you please go to my blog and leave me a note? I am getting very strong urges to pray for him, unlike a regular nudge.
Grany thank you for your beautiful posts. I shall spend time reading these this evening as they are always so wonderful.
I was wondering if anyone has ever read or heard of this booklet/story I read many years ago as a new Christian in Ohio about how we are to give our ENTIRE lives to Christ.
Everything.
Even our hopes and thoughts and dreams.
This booklet compared our lives as a Christian to a house.
It talked about how it was easier for us to give him the basics of our lives, such as the living room and kitchen, but when it came to our closets and drawers of thoughts and dreams, we are more reluctant.
The booklet went on to say we HAD to give EVERYTHING to Him...even these closets and drawers of thoughts and dreams.
When I came to this point and realized I had to give him EVERYTHING, it was like a second conversion.
The whole thing had a very profound affect on my life.
I would love to find this story/poem again, so if this sounds familiar to anyone, let me know!
Oh my gosh Donna....you are not going to believe this (I'm not even sure I do!) I have had a little booklet called "My Heart-Christ's Home" by Robert Boyd Munger since March. I keep meaning to send it to someone that I think will benefit from it but haven't been able to settle on anyone. So it's been sitting on my entryway table with my keys for months. I actually almost threw it out last week when I was tidying up. Check that out and see if it's the right one. It does speak about Christ going through each room with us and finding places where we haven't submitted fully to him.
That would be conincidence enough, but this is the "I can't believe it" part... I have no idea how I came into possession of that booklet. Last Easter we were planning to drive out to see my grandfather, the agnostic, and I was planning to talk with him about Jesus. We were on the interstate driving westward...I can probably find the spot again because it made such an impact. I was rummaging through my purse and found the booklet at the bottom, under all my other stuff. I had never seen it before but I felt it was God's confirmation that I was indeed supposed to talk with Grandpa that weekend. It really emboldened me to complete the task no matter how awkward or upsetting things became. Well, if you remember, a snow storm prevented us from traveling to his house so I wrote a letter instead. And the booklet has been traveling around with me waiting to find a home. If you'd like me to send it, I'd be happy to! I'd figured that someone must have slipped it into my purse without me being aware...now I see just Who put it there and why I couldn't seem to part with it!
Hi Jen, I was just online looking for that booklet (again) and up popped your message! WOW I wonder if it's the same booklet. I remember when you were on your way to your grandfathers and everything else, too! I will google it and see if I can come up with it online and will let you know if I can find it and if its the same booklet.
Shalom, all! I fell out of my chair laughing at this. It's supposed to be the signs for two churches across the street from each other; but I'm not so sure there isn't some photoshopping involved.
Shalom, all! Don't know what your opinions on Mormonism are. This is from a former Mormon posting on the Catholic Answers Forum:
The president of the Mormon church, Thomas S. Monson announced this morning (9:00am PST) that the LDS church would build 5 new temples. Temples are where ordinances are performed for the living and the dead, including the use of "sacred" signs and symbols, oaths and penalties.
The first 4 of the 5 were announced and then a little pause, and then the announcement that the 5th would be in....... Rome, Italy. There was a wry smile and the congregation (probably about 20,000) gave a rumble of laughter.
No news as to the size of the temple, whether it will be a small one like many of the new ones (often the size of a small Catholic church) or a large one. Certainly the building and dedication will be a media event. This will be good PR for the LDS church. It will be interesting how it goes. Certainly an invitation will be given to the Vatican to attend and walk through the temple before it is dedicated.
The Catholic Church - the great apostate church, according to the Book of Mormon (2 Nephi 28 and elsewhere) "the great and abominable church, whore of all the earth".
The Catholic Church has to be apostate if the LDS church is to be true.
Anyway, I am gearing up for a number of talks at my wife's LDS church that will mention the building of the temple in Rome - a certain sign of the Lord's work moving ahead and us reaching the end days and the return of Christ. It will almost be as bad as there being a Mormon President of the USA.
Are we neutral? The Vatican has requested that genealogical records from Catholic parishes not to be given to LDS family history researchers. There is even an exorcism prayer used by Catholic priests that mentions specifically the "angel" Moroni - the Mormon "prophet" who gave the book of Mormon to Joseph Smith. We are Christian's, but not fools. Mormonism isn't neutral. I have spoken to a number of former Catholics who became Mormons. Their reasoning shows poor catechizing.
Mormonism is not neutral. Take it from one who has been through the temple ceremonies. It has many good things in it. But then you can find a good biscuit in a trash can - but that is not the primary place you search for one.
Hi Jim, That's hilarious! Too bad (as you suspected) that at the end of the comments there's a link to a website for churchsigndesigns.com (or something like that...I'm too lazy to go back and check.) You can make your own message and have it posted on a generic church marqee. Boy, could someone start trouble with that program!
Most Christian demoniations agree on this one. At least they did-who knows what's happening @ this point w/everyone going PC haywire.
I think they are another religion who believes one has to be Mormon to be "saved". You have to watch our for those "angels of light". "Angel" Moroni is another prime example of not testing the spirits.
I may have this wrong but if I recall correctly they think Lucifer is the brother of Jesus.
Late night Lisa--I am actually 2 miles from the Tennessee border--so the two different churches I went to were in Memphis. Even though I have a MS address--I really spend most of my time in TN!
I wanted to throw my two cents in about voting--and Bush, Palin and Israel. I agree with Grany that we have to pray for the RIGHT understanding by the people in our government, particularly Bush and Palin. I have prayed relentlessly about this--in my hope that Bush would change his thinking there, to no avail--thus far. It can still happen. Anything is possible with our Lord..
As a whole, though, I dont know how I could ever vote for Obama--his position on abortion weighs on me heavily. Ive been away for awhile but has anyone gone to www.jillstanek.com? She does a great job of clarifying Obama's position on infanticide. He has spoken of his position since she came forward and has continually lied. I cant help it, but the feeling I get when I see and hear him is one that gnaws at my gut nd makes me want to change the channel. I pray every single day about this, and I believe NOT voting for Obama is in my and my countrys best interest. Voting for a different party, however, and I like Barr a lot---but it would only give Obama the edge if we did that. By the way, at the Democratic convention--did ANYONE think of Carpathia with Obama's RIDICULOUS stage set-up?
Grany I am so happy you are feeling better---and where is Alesia????
How about the valley of Baca? I'll check on the land of Canine.
Hey-maybe we can go on a virtual Holy Land tour!
by Os Hillman "Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion" (Ps 84:5-7).
There is a spiritual law in the Kingdom of God. Every great leader in the Kingdom will pass through the Valley of Baca. Baca means to weep. It comes from the Hebrew word, bakah (baw-kaw'); a primitive root; to weep; generally to bemoan.
However, Baca is also a place of springs. There is nothing better on a hot day when you're thirsty and weary than to drink water from a mountain spring. It refreshes. It renews. It gives you a second wind to continue your journey. Those who commit themselves to a pilgrimage with God will experience the Valley of Baca. But in the midst of Baca they will discover that in this valley they will also drink from a very special spring that refreshes with a different kind of living water.
It becomes the source of "secret things in hidden places" described by the prophet Isaiah (Isa 45:3) reserved only for those willing to journey on the Great Pilgrimage with God. Once you drink from this spring you will be energized in your spiritual man from strength to strength. Each Valley of Baca will result in a new spiritual spring from which you will drink. It is handmade just for you by God. But know this?it will be used to provide a refreshing drink for others you will encounter who are also on their pilgrimage.
Ultimately, Baca leads to the presence of God. There is something about being in a place with God that results in our weeping and crying out to Him. Do you find yourself in this place with God today? If so, know that His springs are also available to you. Ask him today to give you a drink from His spring only available in the Valley of Baca."
Is TN much different from MS where you are? I haven't been to Memphis yet.
We live in Nashville-the upper mid portion of TN fairly close to KY. They have a culture war here depending where you’re from in the state of TN. There is "West, Middle, & East TN". (The Middle Tennesseans think they are more cultured & "refined" because they are close to the capitol.) But-you don't have to drive too far away from Nashville to really be out in the sticks w/the moon shiners. We have a neighbor across the street in a Normandy style house (took 10 yrs to build) that's been here forever.
He's the eccentric type and hangs out on his patio waiting for customers to come by to buy his vegetables. He's got a fantastic garden (HUGE) & has you sit down & chat awhile. He also cans and teaches people how to do it.
**My husband suspects the guy also has a distillery.
Lisa, Shalom! My daughter woke up laughing this morning. She told me the first thing that came to mind when she woke up was "Free Dog Soul With Conversion"!
RE: the new Mormon temple in Rome, Italy: I have no doubt the Vatican will receive an invitation; I have no doubt the Pope will NOT put in an appearance, but I also have no doubt that a number of bishops and cardinals will -- it's good PR for the Church's willingness to build bridges, etc., and it's also a good chance to gather intel. And yes, there is an exorcism prayer that mentions "Moroni" -- "Moroni" is one of the names of the Chinese god of the dead. Mormon missionaries in China have to tap dance very carefully around that fact. Oh, and that bit about the Vatican requesting that Catholic baptism records not be given to LDS historical researchers, that's false. The Vatican didn't request, the Vatican specifically and directly ordered all Catholic parishes to withhold these records from LDS researchers. The Church wanted no part in helping a false religion promote false beliefs.
Lisa, keep an eye on hubby. If he gets to lingering at the neighbor's house a lot it might be of a different "spiritual inclination". @;p} Oh yeah!
Oh, I liked that one GT! Heheheheh!
Jim, I know churches right here where I live that battle worse than that one and this town has a church on just about every corner and it all started out from the basic main denomination. There is a Catholic church here but it only has services every 3rd week of the month. We have one Methodist, Presbyterian, and Church of Christ. From there we find that the AOG has given birth to at least 4 churches, the baptist has never practice birth control as far as church splits are concerned and the Pentecostals has a tendency to build on too small a scale and have to get enlarging their structures or build a new one. So, if any of you would like to convert an old church into an interesting home, there are plenty available here. Write for details!
Donna, do you see how God put that desire inside of you for the little book right at the time it was needed? Then Jen who has been looking for someone to give the book to, sees your post and her needs to bless someone are answered when you post your question. I love how all of this is coming about. Let me make it simple for you and her. Watch in your mail.
Later today, I want to share a very precious report with all of you but I am praying about how and what to share. But it is a testimony to the great power of pray and I don't want to flub it up.
MAC, thanks for joining me in prayer for our friend and family member here, Thuunda. He lives in South Africa and is involved in Mining according to his blog page. I woke up this morning with him on my heart again. Everyone, please join in praying for him.
I don't have all of the comments read yet but I just want to say, Thank you all for being part of my family here and just wait till we get to our Heavenly abode. Oh what a day of rejoicing that will be! Seeing Jesus face to face and walking in love, peace and perfect communion with him is exciting to me.
LNL--I LOVE Nashville! Only had the chance to visit a few times but have always enjoyed it--my girls have a cheerleading competition there on November 2nd--so Im looking forward to getting out your way!
BIG difference between where I live and Memphis. I mean, Memphis has its tough areas, but my goodness, their historical district is really something to see! Lots of great culture...music, etc. Mississippi just seems smaller to me. Small-townish. Our town is called Southaven--its in Desoto county which is supposed to be one of the fastest growing counties in the country. You should SEE all the empty houses. BIG, beautiful homes that back in Ohio would be $400-$500,000...selling for $200,000 and LESS. Its astounding..I have never seen anything like it!
Honestly though, having lived in L.A., Vegas, D.C., Orlando--and many other places...I am loving the whole dang Jesus crowd! :) I went to get my hair cut at some salon I found, and it was playing the Christian music station and there were gorgeous hand carved crosses all around. I mean, you wouldnt find that in the places Ive lived previously. I cant help but think that God has some big plans for me and my family. He knows I have a servants heart--and with as much as we move I always have this fear of starting something I cant see through---or even get off the ground. I dont know.
I got off on a tangent...sorry! Anyway, do you love where you live?? I just find everyone so friendly out that way!
I just found a wonderful site and I have to post a copy/paste link for all of you. This is a sermon preached in 1846 by a preacher named J. C. Philpot and it is on the Valley of Baca. I am just going to leave a short note and pop right back to finish reading it.
Just had to share! www.gracegems.org/Philpot/valley_of_baca.htm
We do love it here!Franklin in Williamson county is where our house is.(renting it.) And coming from CA it was a shock to live in a Bible belt community. Everyone sizes me up by asking 1st thing "Where do you go to Church?"
*Fortunately the response is usually positive.
In CA speaking of Church is taboo since the Christians are so outnumbered. But-looks like we are heading back to our old San Diego house we rented out there the end of Nov. I heard its 100 degrees; the ocean is 72, and dry as a crisp. (Santa Ana Fire season is around Oct/Nov)
So back to Sodom & Gomorrah but I'm thankful we had the opportunity to experience TN.
I'd love to meet you when you get in town for the Cheer Competition. Lorraine (7) takes a cheer/tumble @ gym class and would love to watch as well. She attends Cheer camps in the summer too.**Mom's getting her prepped for it in case you can't tell.(: We travel around for Dance Competitions but are on a break this season because of moving again. We haven't seen an actual Cheer competition but we were @ Disneyland CA last year and saw their cute outfits and hairdo’s as they walked by.
OK some of you are going to laugh your heads off & I know I deserve it!
Jim C.
Listen to this one. I dreamt last night I was pregnant again. (probably because I overheard my husband telling someone over dinner he was hinting for a 3rd child but I wasn't going for it.)
So I'm in a hospital bed and the baby is coming out so fast I have to deliver it myself as so one is around. (It was great-no pain!) Suddenly a nurse came in and whisked the baby away before I got a good look at it. I was getting worried because your suppose to try & nurse/bond with the child.
Finally they bring the baby and place it in my arms. IT WAS AN ALIEN BABY! It had a huge triangular shaped head w/the slit mouth & I wanted to kill it.
Then thank goodness my daughter came in to wake me up and saved me from murdering the thing in my sleep.
I tell you-I'm praying to NOT have another Alien dream again. I can't think of a subject much worse birthing one!
By the way Lisa, the Bakka Valley is now called The Kiddron Valley and lays just east of the Beautiful Gate, or Eastern Gate or the one that you see which has been bricked up to prevent Jesus from entering it again. The Kiddron valley was also the place where the Jerusalem Jews sacrificed their children that brought about their capture by foreign Goyim.
You asked: how is Daniel after that choking scare of the other day?
He's doing just fine. Thanks for asking. We had communion today at church. Between services, I took him in the sanctuary as he was trying to get some wiggles out. He noticed the bread and grape juice on the silver serving plates and pointed to them and said "Food!"
Oh, how right he is! The Bread of Life that was broken for us and the blood of the New Covenant! Thank you Lord for giving us this real, tangible reminder.
Yes! Jim G. And as you take the juice and bread into your body, just as it penetrates every part of you; every blood vessel, every cell, so we invite Christ to penetrate the smallest, the most minute parts of our beings.
It's so exciting to think that he provided this real life for us to partake in on a regular basis.
Christian community receives no help from any quarter within India. Our only help is the Lord Himself. Astonishingly , people who are being burnt in severe fiery tests, are firm in their faith and willing to suffer, even to die. This is seen irrespective of denominational differences, which further amazes us.
Others think that the Rapture of the Church will happen on Rosh Hashanah, but I’m convinced that the Rapture is a number specific event rather than a date specific one, meaning that the Church will be raptured when “the full number of gentiles has come in” making the day and hour unknown to us in advance, except that it will precede Israel’s re-awakening (Romans 11:25) and Daniel’s 70th week. (Acts 15:15-16)
I’m also convinced that Paul’s reference to the Rapture happening at “The Last Trump” (1 Cor. 15:52) should not be used to connect it to the Feast of Trumpets. He spoke of the same event In 1 Thes. 4:16 saying it would be accompanied by the trumpet call of God. Some scholars say there are two trumpets of God that recall the two horns of the ram caught in the thicket as Abraham prepared to sacrifice Isaac. They call the Trumpet of Exodus 19:13 the left one, or First Trump, and say that God will call the Israelites back to the Land in the End Times by blowing the right one, or Last Trump. If as I suspect, this will occur in conjunction with the Battle of Ezekiel 38, then my belief that the Rapture will take place before Ezekiel’s battle would be confirmed. About the only thing we know for sure where the Rapture’s timing is concerned is that it didn’t happen on this Rosh Hashanah.
I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but it sounds like your dream is serious. The symbolism is clear. My biggest question to you is: did you have the Salsa-flavored Doritos or the Ranch-flavored ones?
perfectionism is both a blessing and a curse-it does drive me stark raving nuts at times and perhaps satan has been using this gift against me.
Mac where is Alesia this days?
I loved the article by Jack Kelly btw. I personally think that the blood moons of 2015 will either signal the start of the tribulation OR be just before the mid point of daniel's 70th week.
Lisa and to think we might have been "near" neighbors! I almost went into practice in Pulaski. btw does Gwen Shamblin still reign supreme in Franklin?
This is interesting. It's from the newsletter of Adon Olam Messianic Congregation. (I stumbled across their website while looking for some Jewish Feast related info.)
Torah March: Our next Torah march will be on Friday, July 18th. We will take our Torah Scroll out of the Ark and march it around our Kehilot (meeting place) in a figure 8, which conveys the idea that the study ofthe Torah never ends. We do this once a month to allow people to appreciate the fact that it contains the actual Words that the L-rd G-d spoke to Moses, and these are the exact words that Moses recorded! People are invited to reach out and touch the mantle (cover) of the Torah Scroll as it goes by, using either your Bibles, your Tzitziot (fringes of your Tallitot) or your hands, then bring your hands to your lips, because the Word of G-d should be as sweet as honey to our mouths. Yeshua is the Word of G-d, both in written form, as well as the Living Word, so it is not idolatry to show such respect to the Torah, since it represents Yeshua.
I'd like to preface this link by saying I don't necessarily agree with everything said but I did find it thought provoking. I like the fact that the arguments are well grounded in Scripture. I do think that many of the arguments also could be used to support a pre-wrath position on the rapture.
I'd welcome any additional thoughts or comments from fellow cave dwellers.
I sort of figured out the land of Canine was a joke after some following comments. (No wonder it was new to me!)
Jim C.
I think I had that dream immediately after praying for you (:
Mac,
Jack Kelly's article was good! After discussing the Rosh Hashanah date w/Jib & looking it up again it makes more sense that the fall feasts occur consecutively time wise (as Jib mentioned in the past w/the Spring feasts) & it may still be @ His coming but His 2nd coming & not any rapture date.
***The Feast book I mentioned did have it pegged @ the 2nd coming. (There was no mention of rapture in it at all.) Grany is also suspect of a Jewish Feast (Old covenant)signifying a Church (New covenant) rapture.
When people view the feasts through Dispensations-Church Age then Judgment & 1000 yr reign is when they connect Rosh Hashanah to the Rapture.
Regardless we had a great time w/the new shofar tradition so that is something to look forward to every year. Not only that-but I think we had some great dialogue here on a "new concept". (Usually it's just the rerun topics where we end up going in circles.)
I can see it both ways. I'll remain pre-Trib until I see the AOD. If the Anti-Christ shows himself then you've got me convinced.
***Or you might even have me convinced after the war of Gog & Magog.
It is what it is & we'll just have to deal with it. When we're ready we're goin one way or another.
I guess it just depends upon how much "refining" is needed for the faithful Christians. I see that article didn't mention the 7 Churches & I place alot of weight on those examples when thinking in the "lens" of pre-trib.
The other more popular passages just become too confusing to sort out & they tend to be mixed together when they shouldn't.
Following on from my previous comment about Alesia - she hasn’t had the time to post as she is neck high in work leading up to significant jaw surgery that she will undergo this Thursday AM.
Please all pray for a smooth operation; that the Lord guides the surgeon’s hands and that she has a full recovery. Thanks.
Just a couple of thoughts - it would take too long to go through all his comments now.
A minority of pre-trib rapture teachers believe that the 'falling away' (apostasia) is a play on words meaning 'rapture.' Apostasia means a defection or revolt from the faith. In other words, prior to Yeshua's 'gathering' of the believers, many would depart from the faith. Apostasia cannot mean rapture and it's no play on words. Otherwise you'd have Sha'ul saying that 'rapture/gathering' cannot occur until after the 'rapture/gathering.' Dumb, huh? Apostasia here doesn't mean 'falling away from earth' but 'falling away from the faith.'
I don’t know whether the apostasia is the rapture or not and I’ve seen many articles arguing both ways, but he has this wrong in his simplistic summation. What they are suggesting Paul is saying is that the narrow view of the day of the Lord cannot come until the apostasy has taken place, NOT the rapture. He is caught up in the rapture always equals the day of the Lord mindset. A lot of pre-trib teachers believe the day of the Lord is not a narrow technical term but a term encompassing a broad period of time and I agree.
2Pe 3:10-12 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!
My literal reading of this is that the day of the Lord involves something that happens post-millennial and would suggest to me that its scope is broader than some like to think. It has an element of surprise and one of major destruction. Most (if not all) posttribulationists believe that the church does not go through God’s wrath. I wonder, then, how he would treat Rev 6?
Rev 6:16 -17 and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath HAS COME, and who is able to stand?" NASB
This tells me that the wrath of God has already arrived (at least) by the 6th seal. There are many examples in Revelation where the Greek word elthen which is in the aorist tense when involving the action of people, describes an event that occurs in the PAST. But it NEVER refers to a futuristic event. If the church is still on the earth at that stage then this would mean the rapture is postwrath.
This is too true! It is always easier to assail someone else's system of theology than to construct an unassailable system of one's own. Nevertheless, I offer the following criticisms of posttribulationism.
ROME (AFP) - Pope Benedict XVI attacked the Godless character of modern culture as he celebrated mass Sunday in a Roman basilica to mark the opening of a synod of Catholic bishops.
In a sombre homily in which he suggested that Christianity in Europe could become extinct like some Christian communities in history, the pope told more than 250 bishops from around the world that societies which rebelled against God in the past had faced His "punishment".
"If we look at history we are forced to notice the frequent coldness and rebellion of incoherent Christians. Because of this, God, while never shirking in his promise of salvation, often had to turn towards punishment," he said.
"When men proclaim themselves absolute owners of themselves and the only masters of creation, are they really going to be able to construct a society where freedom, justice and peace reign?
"Is it not more likely -- as demonstrated by news headlines every day -- that the arbitrary rule of power, selfish interests, injustice and exploitation, and violence in all its forms, will extend their grip?"
After reading this bit from the Pope's speech plus the bit about punishment, I scrolled down and saw these headlines:
Lisa wow, I used weigh down for a while but when she started her teaching of the no trinity I threw everything out or used those cassettes to record other stuff on. did not give them to anyone or to thrift store as I did not want anyone getting caught up in her probable cult she was going to be starting.
I do think the fall feasts will likely be fulfilled at Christ's second coming-which is different than what some of the proponents of feast fulfillment teach. others teach that it is now all about the church which I think is a form of replacement theology. If one really believes that God is not yet done with the Jews it makes more sense then that somehow the fall feasts would be fulfilled in relation to Christ's second coming-which only happens after the Jewish leadership asks Him to come back.
on the whole day of the Lord, I think Mac is closer that it is a period of time and not just a single day. Frucht has a great explanation as to why the phrase "the day of the Lord" refers to the last 3.5 years of the tribulation. makes the most sense out of anything I've heard or read and appears to be the most consistent with pre trib teachings.
LISA, you asked "**I wonder what will pop up next?"
Toast! I am eating my breakfast now and waiting on my Wheat Berry bread to get done.
Mac, TMJ? Is that what Alesia is having done? I am praying for her and tell her I miss her too.
Good points about the 2 Thes. passage and the rapture/day of the Lord input. Whenever I hear the phrase "day of the Lord" I am brought back to this passage "this is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it." No matter what the discussion is surrounding it, which can be rather disconcerting when I am really trying to pay close attention to the speakers. To top that off, I have to tell you that I didn't really know there was bible passage that said just that until our pastor was using it for the topic of his sermon. I have to say, it gave me quite a jolt. It also caused me to take on the task and eventually the joy, of reading through the whole bible the first time. That is when the real love of scripture took hold of me and gave me my joy boost of a lifetime.
But I agree with Jim G., I can't wait until we all get together in our heavenly abode and share the perfect atmosphere of love with the Lover of our Souls. You have no idea how much hope and pure delight mixed with sheer terror you all bring me every day.
What I see in each of us is a real love of God and a desire to really know Him in all truth. Not to take anything for granted and to be willing to dig a little deeper in the wealth of scripture to uncover the living water of his gifts to us all. I think that is a very rare quality to find in the blogosphere of today's world. It is nice to know that we have some one or a couple/three/etc. believing the rapture could happen in all of the different time slots devised by man. So we have that topic all covered.
Mac, I have been warned about the Dow Jones dropping to 8000 very soon and I am wondering if you have any feelings about it? It seems that is supposed to signal some sort of drastic worldwide move by the nations and it would bring about the collapse of the related markets.
If perchance there is a drop of that magnitude, it would seem the best possible solution would be swift action on the behalf of the people to close up shop and stop the foolishness until some reasonable procedures are in operation. I am not much of a stock market enthusiast but somewhere there has to be a common sense approach.
Did anyone watch the Fox News Channel on this weekend? Regarding Obama and the true past history of his life? I even watched it again on reruns. If you can, take the time and listen carefully. You know I love Chocolate of any kind and in any way. I could eat myself right into heaven and be joyful about it but I know that it is most generally served up in ways that are the worst possible food for me to be eating and have any health. So, as much as I might love it, I avoid it. It is one of those things that once I get started with the first smell or tiny taste, I am off and running until there is no more.
Same way with Sweet Boy Obama! No matter how you might feel a tinge of guilt for the way people of a minority race have been treated in the past, how sad for a little boy to be deserted by his biological father, to be raised in a situation that none of us have any idea about, or just saying it this way, the sympathy motives that seeing Obama could stir up in any of us, knowing the associates he has had in the past and his activities carried out during those periods should be enough of a warning to steer clear.
I was one of the people who thought the world of JFK and was deeply wounded when he was killed. But had we known the truth about this man's morals and habits, would I have been so shaken? If I had known, I would have voted for someone else. Our nations leaders have to be held on a higher plane than most men and women and their morals are very important. If they will cheat in one arena they will cheat in another, without restraints.
mac; Agreeing in prayer with everyone for a complete healing for Alesia.
Mac, I agree that the view of the poster about the "day of the Lord" is not one that is held by most pre-tribs. Some hold that the rapture could occur many years before the tribulation. There are other assumptions he uses that are not common to pre-trib and can be refuted by any pre-trib scholar. I think he is setting up a straw man with most of his arguments (even I can see through most and I am not a scholar).
(1) VISION - ECONOMY on LIFE SUPPORT - by Bryan Hupperts. (Nov 3, 1997)
I wanted to write and share a vision I had several years ago...
The Lord showed me a body laying on a bed in a hospital setting. The patient was named The Economy. His chart was at the foot of his bed and the lines on the graphs seemed to be marked by sharp up and down turns.
He was breathing "falsely". He was surrounded by many specialists who were doing many things to keep him alive. He was totally on artificial life support. Just then, the Chief Physician came in, looked at the patient, and declared, "This patient is dead. Let that which is dead die." With his own finger, he threw the switch to cut off the life support.
The Economy heaved, gasped, and died horribly.
End.
I believe that we are headed for a global meltdown of the world economy. This will bring chaos and ruin but will strip people of their false god of money and many souls will be brought to Christ.
If we are walking in obedience to the Lord, we have nothing to fear. Ask the Lord for wisdom to get your economic house in order. Seek first the kingdom of God, And his righteousness, and all these things (materials needs) will be added unto you.
None of the candidates are all that great, in my opinion...with maybe Joe Biden.
Please add my daughter to your prayer lists.
She has felt dizzy and has passed out a few times lately. Each time she was overdressed and overheated.
Yesterday she felt dizzy and passed out again, and we were not able to revive her for an hour and a half. It took a half hour for the first response to get to us.
She did not appear to be overdressed or overheated this time.
While in this state she was breathing fine, blood pressure was fine, sugar level was fine, eyes were flickering.
Last week we had tests done and so far all of her tests have come back normal.
The whole incident has put 10 yrs on my life.
I know that He is a sovereign God and feel comforted knowing that.
We have all been thru a lot lately...so please keep us in your prayers.
Thank you and I will keep you all in my prayers, too.
"A document prepared for the meeting rejects a fundamentalist approach to the Bible, and said a key challenge was to clarify for the faithful the relatioship of scripture to science."
donna; Agreeing for a good outcome for your daughter, may the doctors hand be guided to find the correct answer and may she be completely healed in Jesus's name Amen!! May your whole family be safe and at peace in the palm of His hands!!
Psa 102:1 ¶ [[A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD.]] Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee. Psa 102:2 Hide not thy face from me in the day [when] I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day [when] I call answer me speedily.
If the Dow Jones Industrial Average closes down 802 points today, it will be down 7.77% from Friday's close. No predictions. It's just that this is getting interesting and we know He is ultimately in total control.
Hi all, Just jumped on quickly to say thank you all for your prayers & keep em coming (for I'm now getting a wee nervous)
Grany, I have a tumor on my condyle & have to have the entire condyle removed & replaced with a prosthetic condyle, mandible & fossa. (I'll be beeping in the metal detectors now!)
My daughter's excited, hoping I'll not be able to talk for awhile!
I'll be off work for several weeks to a month & I'm really scrambling to get everything done in preparation. I imagine week 2 of my recovery, I'll be posting up a storm & people will wish I went away again! lol
Donna, I am praying for your daughter too and for her momma! Just ask and believe Jesus for her healing. That is what Jairus did.
I wonder if I took a nap right about now, would you think Jesus might come during that time? Wouldn't that be great to wake up, midflight, and know that we are ascending into heaven! WOW! I just stirred up my hope, and real strong expectation.
Not a good news item anywhere and I really need one quickly. Hubby is getting panic stricken and I am getting angry. Dangerous ground for both of us to be on at the same time.
Grany; my analyst skills weren’t in the economics area but rather sales and manufacturing analysis. Personally I think things may well steady in a few weeks but the long term will be downward. This sounds too much like what’s happened before back in the 1920’s? And we have our prophecies to consider as well. I think the slide has begun and we’re in for a fall. You can send me a check for that analysis (-:
Mac, check is in the mail! I was really having a rough time this morning and early in the afternoon and realized that God's promises are just as powerful in bad times as they are in the good times and I had to get my speech corrected and my thinking too.
Sometimes I have to do my self adjustments without any songs or bible verses but today, everywhere I went there was another word of encouragement.
Praise the Lord. His mercies endure forever. Oh give thanks unto the Lord, his mercies are new every morning.
DONNA, I know how you are feeling about that. I didn't know that failure in responsibilities is something you get rewarded for, did you.
Hey Lisa, I read the comments on that article and one poster said that King recommends practicing on roadkill first...Anyone ever read the Monkey's Paw? Yuck!
"Once recognized by a majority of the church as New Age occultism, these practices are now becoming commonplace (or at least commonly sought) at an alarming rate by confused Christians, immature believers, and unsaved spiritual seekers who are all hungry for a "manifest" encounter with God, "here and now." As occultism gains popular acceptance in the world, so does the craving for "genuine" (tangible) signs as encouraged by neo-prophetic teachers.
One of the more recent and blatant examples of neo-paganism in the church, however, is Patricia King's endorsement and embrace of trance-dancing as a Christian form of worship that she and Caleb Brundidge, one of her itinerant ministers, call "Ekstasis Worship." Brundidge is a traveling "prophetic" D.J. that calls his show "Club Mysterio." (Repetitive "rave" or "trance" music has been so-called because nightclubs around the world use it to enable patrons to enter a euphoric altered state of consciousness--with or without the assistance of drugs such as "ecstasy"--through extended freestyle and sensual motion set to repetitive music tracks.
It doesn't take an anthropologist to recognize parallels between modern trance dancing and ancient forms of ritual dance that is still used in many cultures to produce identical altered states and "spirit travel." But what many may not know is the increasing popularity of "yoga trance dance," which could well become the new "jazzercize" that turns this form of Hindu worship into an aerobic activity for "everyday" gym members.
Space does not permit a full analysis with comparison to Scripture, but as the quotes below reveal, patrons of Brundidge's "Club Mysterio" may indeed feel "ecstasy"--but rather than realizing the true joy of the Lord, they might experience either a "head rush" from spinning in circles (a practice of the "whirling dervishes" of Islamic mysticism) or they could meet instead an angel of light--one of the same "divine" deceivers as encountered by yogic dancers seeking all-night tantric pleasure with Hindu deities.
Which brings us to an ancient-future spiritual law: "apostasies attract." With "Christian yoga" and mystical methods for "meeting God" on the rise--and "Christian trance-dancing" now in vogue, what other "Christianized" demonic practices lie ahead?
--Mark Dinsmore
[D.J. Caleb Brundidge's quotes below are transcribed from Patricia King's "Extreme Prophetic TV" show, interspersed with quotes taken from online testimony and promotion of yoga trance-dancing to show the parallel experiences.]
Yogic Nightclub Dancer:
"In searching for my personal connection with Shiva Nataraj, to best explain these roots of trance dancing from ancient India, I felt I needed to go deeper than books, however."
Ekstasis Worship / Extreme Prophetic DJ:
"You no longer have to study the word, when you're inside of an infused atmosphere, it becomes part of you."
Yogic Nightclub Dancer:
"Infused with pure love for the Lord [Shiva Nataraj] and all that he represents, I let myself drift back through the ages until I was a young devadasi performing a tantric [sensual] trance dance somewhere in South India."
Ekstasis Worship / Extreme Prophetic DJ:
"Ekstasis worship is worship that when you go outside of your mind, and just release yourself into abandoned worship with God, going into the ecstasy [as in sensual union] of God."
Yogic Nightclub Dancer:
"Lost in this ancient trance, I felt my love for Shiva grow deeper all night, consuming me. I saw his essence in everyone and everything around me..The techno beat morphed in my head into the shrill song of a shenai, the rhythmic clanging of temple bells reverberating in an ancient stone temple, and the mesmerizing drone of devotional songs being repeated over and over again."
Ekstasis Worship / Extreme Prophetic DJ:
"With the rhythm, the sound, and the repetiveness of the music, the word is driven into your body, not just your mind, not just your soul, but the whole mind, body, and soul."
Yogic Nightclub Dancer:
"Ecstatically allowing the Nataraja trance to overtake me, I felt my body gyrate in unfamiliar ways that seemed as old as Shiva himself. What were these odd movements, these provocative dance steps from another millennium?"
Ekstasis Worship / Extreme Prophetic DJ:
"Ekstasis worship, even in our prayer and in our movement, it's about dancing..feeling it in your body, giving your body to God as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable. Begin to whirl and twirl.. [Unexplained] things begin to happen.."
Yogic Nightclub Dancer:
"I was able to leave my body and observe myself in this new/old incarnation. I realized that every motion the devadasi makes carries import, a message of devotion. The trance dance spiraled me into the deep meanings of these movements, and I instinctually found myself expressing a vast range of emotions that described the many manifestations of Shiva Nataraj."
Ekstasis Worship / Extreme Prophetic DJ:
"When you dance out..your emotion and love for Jesus Christ, something happens, not only in the spiritual, but in the natural, and in the force.. When we're making decrees and we're praising God, the music and you're jumping, and you're dancing and you're moving around, the words that we're speaking becomes one at a cellular level in your body. An' its not like you're learning it, it becomes part of who you are."
Yoga Trance Dance Website:
"The contemporary explorations of this state of rhythmic-induced meditation are reclaiming "trance" as an accessible experience of embodied communion where the observer dissolves into the power of now, the flow, the dance."

GT; thanks for that Psalm! Good to keep it in mind. Yes, I think that that posttribber didn’t have a full grasp of all the issues. I have heaps of articles arguing all sides on 2 Thes 2 alone. I actually wanted to make more comments than I did but where do you start? I used to be a posttribber too and even now I’m not 100 % sure about pretrib, so I don't want to ever be dogmatic. However, I’m convinced the other systems have more problems.
BTW, I’ve begun work on that project we were discussing but it’s slow going.
"Mormonism (or the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) teaches that baptism by water is a necessary ordinance for people to return to God their Heavenly Father...Many people have died without receiving a valid baptism, and they cannot undergo this precious ritual as mere spirits. "Because all on the earth do not have the opportunity to accept the gospel during mortality, the Lord has authorized baptisms performed by proxy for the dead. Therefore, those who accept the gospel in the spirit world may qualify for entrance into God's kingdom.""
"So according to the Mormon Church, dead people can still accept the gospel, and apparently read different gospels, while dead, and choose whether to accept one. If they are then baptized by the Mormon Church, (and presuming the dead person has accepted the Mormon gospel) they can go to heaven with God.
This has led to Mormons being baptized in the names of their dead relatives, and even controversial baptisms for Holocaust victims, Adolph Hitler, Eva Braun, Josef Stalin, Ghengis Khan, Catholic priests and popes, and Buddha."

Hmmmmmmmm....
First, I REALLY wouldn't count on a secular newspaper giving an accurate interpretation of anything the Pope says -- or any religious official, for that matter. Notice it says, "A document..." Why just "A document..."?
Today is the first day of a synod being held in Rome with 253 bishops, all those bishops in the world who are not in prison or otherwise unable to attend. The synod is being held on the Holy Word, the Bible; and the speakers include the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, leader of the Greek Orthodox Church, and the chief rabbi of Haifa Shear, Yashuv Cohen, as well as a number of protestant speakers. The synod is scheduled to last three weeks. And of all the speeches, presentations, and viewpoints that will be presented, this reporter selected this one document.
Hmmmmmmmm....
If you want to read more about the synod go to this link: ZENIT. Here are some of the articles there:
Nate, I am getting an error 404 message when trying to link to that last one. First it took me to a page saying the Mr. Hyde's blog doesn't exist and now it is an error message.
Mr. Hyde, did you know you don't exist? How smart of Blogger!
This is a weird night and I think I had better turn in because now, I am getting silly.
"First, I REALLY wouldn't count on a secular newspaper giving an accurate interpretation of anything the Pope says -- or any religious official, for that matter."
A pastor went out one Saturday to visit his church members. At one house, it was obvious that someone was home, but nobody came to the door, even though the pastor knocked several times.
Finally, the pastor took out his card, wrote "Revelation 3:20"on the back of it, and stuck it in the door. Revelation 3:20 -- Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.
The next day, the card turned up in the collection plate. Below the pastor's message was the notation "Genesis 3:10."Genesis 3:10 -- I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."
A local priest and a pastor stood by the side of the road holding up a sign that said, "The End Is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!"
They planned to hold up the sign to each passing car.
"Leave us alone you religious nuts!"yelled the first driver as he sped by.
From around the curve they heard a big splash. "Do you think,"said one clergyman to the other, "we should just put up a sign that says 'bridge out' instead?"

Jenny....Scott's wife
Fighting the good fight,
Jenny
HI Jenny,
Welcome! How nice to hear from you! Your husband is such an inspiration and we know you will be, too.
Very good points! I pray for all of us and for all of His flock to have increased opportunities to share the good news about Him!
Amen!
BTW, great post, Mac!
Hi Jenny,
I've been feeling that need to let Jesus loose a bit more lately, too :-) I think my main stumbling block is the (misguided) worry that I'm responsible for the whole process, that if I start something with a person I've got to do everything right to make sure it leads to their salvation (if they're not saved) or to their realignment (if they're off track or being lazy about their faith.) I have to continually remind myself that my only job is to open my mouth in response to the Spirit's prompting.
Blessings to all,
Jen
Lisa, Shalom! I think Crowley's book was an attempt by the Evil One to co-opt the religious numerology that represents G_D, for the Evil One's purposes. It's like this this girl in Texas, who was told she could no longer wear a rosary around her neck, because "that's a gang symbol."
<><
Shalom, all! Just wanted to throw something more out about Sept. 29, the day before Rosh HaShanna and the day of the big dip...
Sept. 29 was the feast day of the archangels Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. You know, archangels, the ones that hold the heavenly trumpets to announce the arrival of the King...
(Yesterday, Oct. 2, BTW was the feast of the Guardian Angels. You don't need to know his or her name, just a simple "Thanks" will do.)
<><
BTW, if you're wondering why the RCC teaches that everyone has a guardian angel, just read Matthew 18:10:
"See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven."

I noticed what Sarah said and she did appear to "come up short" on the topic of Israel. But I believe she is firmly against Israel giving up terrority. Making Palestine a country is name more than land. I don't have a problem with them having a country, let them go out into the dessert and make one. Shoot! The Saudi's have enough land, let them go there!
please notice the intentional punctuation between the words, Shoot and Saudi, in my last post. LOL
Please pray for me this morning. I have an ultrasound on my thyroid that might end up with a needle biopsy.. I really don't want a biopsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are there enough exclamation points to convince you?
thanks
PS: Jordan's aunt said "Thanks for praying"
Hi Granny- three weeks ago, for the first time, I heard about Bullinger/Companion Bible! I now have the large print version. I can't believe the amount of information in the notes ect. The first thing I noticed was the structures of each book. I recognized this literary form, but was unaware that the books of the Bible are written this way, or that no other literature in history is written this way! I can't wait to study useing this Bible. Just yesterday I was wondering if anyone else was aware of this Bible.........then you posted!

Why Some Women Hate Sarah Palin
Will be praying for you Lori!
By the way, thanks for all of your hard work blueing all of the articles!
Grace
Jenny,
Awesome challenge!
Hi Lori,
WIll be praying for your test. I recently had a similar one done because of a nodule found on my thryoid. The biopsy wasn't bad and actually the harder part was the recovery afterward which I attributed to bruising. Swallowing for a few days felt like when you have a sore throat, but it's totally better now.
Nate,
About Sarah Palin's Israel comment...some posters on another board commented that while her reply was not encouraging, they weren't convinced that she would go full-throttle in the 2-state direction because of comments she made previously supporting Israel.
Blessings,
Jen

I think most of us non-Catholics know we have a guardian angel.
But I never heard of feast days for
Archangels.
Jim C.
Levy.
It’s great-I’m loving every minute of it!
Personally, I think Joe Biden did a great job. Sarah made some great points, too.
I definitely was turned off by her statements about the two state solution.
I can't imagine she meant anything else other than what this present admin has been pushing for, but we'll see.
Lisa, Shalom!

I forgot to check the follow up comment box.
Nate,
I like what Pat Robertson (700 Club) had to say about the election.
Lisa,
Aha! I see you bought, Pagan Christianity. I read it a couple of monthes ago. Let us know some of the things you read, okay? It's interesting, and also very well documented. A good book!
Lori,
Agreeing with you in prayer, for a good check up. (although it could be over by now?)
Jenny,
Welcome! And keep on posting :)
Jib,
God IS good! And good all the time :)
May everyone have a good day in the Lord Jesus Christ!

PRAYER BEADS — TRADITION, USE AND ENERGY OF TIBETAN MALA
EASTERN HEALING ARTS 2008
What is the Origin of the Rosary?
Beads and Prayers: The Rosary in History and Devotion
(Mohammed did the same thing mind you.) "Mary" shows up with her band of handmaidens & tells him to use this "rosary" to convert those
Albigenses into believing Jesus came from a woman and therefore was also "real man."
Galations 1:8
"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!"
Okay, no needle biopsy, but they stabbed me in the arm! Actually, I barely felt anything.

Blessings!

Grany
You all, it might be wise to pop over to www.debka.com and check out the news. In addition, I have the subscription to their news alert email and it is fantastic. The things that they tell you are happening, well you can count on it being the truth. Check out the news headlines and if I could still see the tagging format, I would list them all here. Just reading the headlines is a real blood thriver.
Grany
Why is he pushing for all of this?
Love ya sis,
Wilma
Even if Bush is into replacement theology, it does not make sense to me why he, or anyone else, is pushing for this split.
They can't really think that the Moslems are going to be peaceful neighbors if they all go back to the 1967 borders.
I sure did notice Biden's teeth lol They must be dentures?
Grany
Yes, Grany, you are right, He knows what He is doing.
And yes, we all need to continue praying for all of our leaders, leaders to be and for all people for that matter!
Thank you for these reminders!
Would you all consider doing this?
ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT
2nd Chronicles 7:14
This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced. From the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values. We all need to be on our knees. Do you believe we can take God
at His word?
Grany
grany you said;
"Someone said if people really realized the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have."
Amen and amen. I had the exact same thought this morning when I awoke! The Holy Spirit was impressing this on me as I was praying in my dreams again. How wonderful, He impressed this thought to me and you put it down in print to confirm His word. God Bless!

We already have the victory but after you run the race, you have to make your self available for the crown!
His stripes worked last night for me.
Praise God!
Love you all,
Grany
Wilma,
Thanks for sharing your testimony. Sometimes we do feel so small that we "hate" to bother the Lord with our "trivial" little problems.
Well, He wants to hear it all. He wants to bear it all. He already took care of the details, all we need to do is trust Him.
It's nice to be reminded of this.
it is likely also that we don't bother Him enough because we expect to do everything or fix the small stuff ourselves.
one of the things that God has been impressing on me lately is
1-if we seek His kingdom and abide in Him, He will bless us. He doesn't necessarily bless us if we don't seek and abide
2-you have not because you ask not
Yes, indeed prayer is one of our most valuable weapons in fighting the good fight in this world.
Fighting the Good Fight,
Jenny
Thank you GT and Granny for sharing. It got my spiritual juices flowing!
FTGF,
Jenny
I agree no request is to small. Let us lay it out on the table before Him and He will deal with it accordingly. If He has every hair on your head numbered (I know that is more for some than others...ha) than the number of prayers for our Lord could never be too great. The only limits that go before the Lord are the ones we set on Him. Thankfully, He doesn't hold us to it.
Dear Alesia,
I miss you!
Grany
jib you said;
"it is likely also that we don't bother Him enough because we expect to do everything or fix the small stuff ourselves."
Maranatha!
grany;
Praise God for the good report!!

Remember that God told Joshua "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, as I promised to Moses." {Josh 1:3 RSV} and he also told him that although the land was promised it would not come without a formidable challenge. There would be people positioned to stand between what God has promised and life in the wilderness. Yet God promised Joshua that no man would be able stand against him. Just as he had been with the patriarch Moses, he would also stand with Joshua.
But if the land is filled with challenge it is also filled with the prospect of victory. It is the prospect of victory upon which God focuses Joshua's attention, not the size of the challenge. He is promised that, "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you." {Josh 1:5 RSV}
Grany
Count me in with regards to the 2Chron prayer, Grany!
And I love hearing about America back during WW11 days, especially with the Christian perspectives.
Also, GT, Proverbs 3&6 are my "life verses". We can never hear those verses enough!
Grany
<><
Grany; no, I haven't heard from Thuunda. I'll honor that nudge and pray as well.
if you all want to see something really really scary that WILL make the hair on the back of your neck stand straight up watch this video
I couldn't finish it because they are ascribing to BHO what should be God's alone
Oh my gosh Donna....you are not going to believe this (I'm not even sure I do!)
I have had a little booklet called "My Heart-Christ's Home" by Robert Boyd Munger since March.
Wow!
Blessings,

Hi Jen, I was just online looking for that booklet (again) and up popped your message! WOW I wonder if it's the same booklet.
I remember when you were on your way to your grandfathers and everything else, too!
I will google it and see if I can come up with it online and will let you know if I can find it and if its the same booklet.

Shalom, all! I fell out of my chair laughing at this. It's supposed to be the signs for two churches across the street from each other; but I'm not so sure there isn't some photoshopping involved.
Dueling Church Signs
<><

Hi Jim,
That's hilarious!
Too bad (as you suspected) that at the end of the comments there's a link to a website for churchsigndesigns.com (or something like that...I'm too lazy to go back and check.) You can make your own message and have it posted on a generic church marqee. Boy, could someone start trouble with that program!
Night night,
Jen
Jim C.
Great Signs! Too funny!
Mormon=Apostate False Church
Folks in both those churches should open their Bibles and read more about the land of Canine.
Jim G; how is Daniel after that choking scare of the other day?
In His Name!
Jim G.
How about the valley of Baca? I'll check on the land of Canine.
Hey-maybe we can go on a virtual Holy Land tour!
by Os Hillman
"Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
Ask him today to give you a drink from His spring only available in the Valley of Baca."
jcchick 23,
Is TN much different from MS where you are?
<><

Just had to share!

jcchick23,
We do love it here!Franklin in Williamson county is where our house is.(renting it.) And coming from CA it was a shock to live in a Bible belt community.

Mac,
You asked: how is Daniel after that choking scare of the other day?
He's doing just fine. Thanks for asking. We had communion today at church. Between services, I took him in the sanctuary as he was trying to get some wiggles out. He noticed the bread and grape juice on the silver serving plates and pointed to them and said "Food!"
Oh, how right he is! The Bread of Life that was broken for us and the blood of the New Covenant! Thank you Lord for giving us this real, tangible reminder.
Lisa,
In response to my silly comment about the land of Canine, you wrote: How about the valley of Baca? I'll check on the land of Canine.
Don't know if you caught it but my comment about the "land of Canine" was in response to the dueling church signs on whether dogs go to heaven.
I do appreciate your comments and thoughts regarding the valley of Baca though. Thanks!
Yes! Jim G. And as you take the juice and bread into your body, just as it penetrates every part of you; every blood vessel, every cell, so we invite Christ to penetrate the smallest, the most minute parts of our beings.
It's so exciting to think that he provided this real life for us to partake in on a regular basis.
Intense persecution in India
From that link I posted:
Christian community receives no help from any quarter within India. Our only help is the Lord Himself. Astonishingly , people who are being burnt in severe fiery tests, are firm in their faith and willing to suffer, even to die. This is seen irrespective of denominational differences, which further amazes us.
Jack Kelley's perspective:
The Fall Feasts of Israel
Lisa, Shalom!
I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but it sounds like your dream is serious. The symbolism is clear. My biggest question to you is: did you have the Salsa-flavored Doritos or the Ranch-flavored ones?
;-)
I mean before going to bed.

perfectionism is both a blessing and a curse-it does drive me stark raving nuts at times and perhaps satan has been using this gift against me.
Mac
where is Alesia this days?
I loved the article by Jack Kelly btw. I personally think that the blood moons of 2015 will either signal the start of the tribulation OR be just before the mid point of daniel's 70th week.
Lisa
and to think we might have been "near" neighbors! I almost went into practice in Pulaski. btw does Gwen Shamblin still reign supreme in Franklin?
This is interesting. It's from the newsletter of Adon Olam Messianic Congregation. (I stumbled across their website while looking for some Jewish Feast related info.)
Torah March:
Our next Torah march will be on Friday, July 18th.

After discussing the Rosh Hashanah
date w/Jib & looking it up again it makes more sense that the fall feasts occur consecutively time wise (as Jib mentioned in the past w/the Spring feasts) & it may still be @ His coming but His 2nd coming & not any rapture date.
**I wonder what will pop up next?
Jim G.
Thanks.
Greetings All!
Jim G: I thought the article was teaching the prewrath position.
Joyce, thanks for all the great stuff you've been sending via email.
In Sunday School today I heard a great quote comparing our sin with the holiness of God.
"The stench of a rotting carcass is perfume compared to our sins against a righteous and holy God."
I'm so thankful for a loving Savior Who was willing to bear the wrath of God on my behalf for my sin.
I love Him so much.

Correction Concerning the Day of the Lord—Part 1(2 Thes. 2:1-5)
Some Problems With Postribulationism
...that's a group...time for bed!

Mac,
Agreeing in prayer, that Alesia's jaw surgery is a huge success!
And that she experiences an accelerated (after surgery) healing, as well!
Modern culture is destroying faith, pope warns
<><
I had to shake my head:
"When men proclaim themselves absolute owners of themselves and the only masters of creation, are they really going to be able to construct a society where freedom, justice and peace reign?
"Is it not more likely -- as demonstrated by news headlines every day -- that the arbitrary rule of power, selfish interests, injustice and exploitation, and violence in all its forms, will extend their grip?"
After reading this bit from the Pope's speech plus the bit about punishment, I scrolled down and saw these headlines:
Kyrgyzstan quake kills about 70: ministry
Afghans disillusioned seven years after invasion
Europeans scramble to save failing banks
Come Lord Jesus!

Praying for Alesia that all goes well.
Lisa
wow, I used weigh down for a while but when she started her teaching of the no trinity I threw everything out or used those cassettes to record other stuff on. did not give them to anyone or to thrift store as I did not want anyone getting caught up in her probable cult she was going to be starting.
Good God's Morning everyone!
It is Good to fellowship with you all.
Have a blessed and prosperous day in the Lord.
Grany
Just my 3 cents worth.
mac;
Agreeing in prayer with everyone for a complete healing for Alesia.

(1) VISION - ECONOMY on LIFE SUPPORT
- by Bryan Hupperts. (Nov 3, 1997)
I wanted to write and share a vision I had several years ago...
The Lord showed me a body laying on a bed in a hospital setting.
The patient was named The Economy. His chart was at the foot
of his bed and the lines on the graphs seemed to be marked by
sharp up and down turns.
He was breathing "falsely". He was surrounded by many specialists
who were doing many things to keep him alive. He was totally on
artificial life support. Just then, the Chief Physician came in,
looked at the patient, and declared, "This patient is dead. Let that which is dead die." With his own finger, he threw the switch to cut off the life support.
The Economy heaved, gasped, and died horribly.
End.
I believe that we are headed for a global meltdown of the world
economy. This will bring chaos and ruin but will strip people of
their false god of money and many souls will be brought to Christ.
If we are walking in obedience to the Lord, we have nothing to fear.
Ask the Lord for wisdom to get your economic house in order.
Seek first the kingdom of God, And his righteousness, and all
these things (materials needs) will be added unto you.
A headline in todays paper said"
"Pope warns of nations losing faith"
Then it goes on to say:
"A document prepared for the meeting rejects a fundamentalist approach to the Bible, and said a key challenge was to clarify for the faithful the relatioship of scripture to science."
Hmmmmmmmm....
donna;
Agreeing for a good outcome for your daughter, may the doctors hand be guided to find the correct answer and may she be completely healed in Jesus's name Amen!! May your whole family be safe and at peace in the palm of His hands!!
Maranatha!
for everyone;

Thank you, GT, how sweet and thank you everyone else!

If the Dow Jones Industrial Average closes down 802 points today, it will be down 7.77% from Friday's close. No predictions. It's just that this is getting interesting and we know He is ultimately in total control.
You will all love this picture-My friend Elle took it in downtown Franklin.
Click my blog picture & go into the blogspot page. I inserted the picture up @ the heading.
(I want to revamp by page but it's going to take awhile. Now I deleated the email link and don't know how to get it back.)
Hi all,
Just jumped on quickly to say thank you all for your prayers & keep em coming (for I'm now getting a wee nervous)
I imagine week 2 of my recovery, I'll be posting up a storm & people will wish I went away again! lol
Thanks again & love to all.
Lisa, I like his campaign sign!
Love you all and need your prayers.
Grany

FYI
Melissa Fisher, with Patricia King’s Extreme Prophetic, talks about her evangelism team’s mortuary outreach, where they go into the mortuaries in an attempt to raise the dead. Needless to say, it has never worked.
(If they do raise something up I certainly don't want to see it.)
Hey Lisa,
I read the comments on that article and one poster said that King recommends practicing on roadkill first...Anyone ever read the Monkey's Paw? Yuck!
Blessings,
Jen
FYI-This is new to me. YOGA TRANCE DANCING. (I must really be out of touch even though I think I'm an internet 007)
Yoga Trance Video

["Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils." --1 Timothy 4:1]
I'm going wild tonight-another new one for me:
Mormons Baptize the Dead
Lisa, I'll get excited when they have two left feet dancing.

Please forgive me.
Grnay
Hi Jim, thank you for pointing that out.
And:
"First, I REALLY wouldn't count on a secular newspaper giving an accurate interpretation of anything the Pope says -- or any religious official, for that matter."
How true!
Revelation 3:20
THE END IS NEAR
A local priest and a pastor stood by the side of the road holding up a sign that said, "The End Is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!"
They planned to hold up the sign to each passing car.
"Leave us alone you religious nuts!"yelled the first driver as he sped by.
From around the curve they heard a big splash. "Do you think,"said one clergyman to the other, "we should just put up a sign that says 'bridge out' instead?"
New post is up...short and sweet!
Thanks, GT, I got your comment.
