She is off the breathing tube, all monitors and Susan just told me that they have taken the IV out of her little hand.
They moved her from the critical ICU to a lower level ICU a couple of days ago.
The neurologist is coming in tomorrow at 7AM to make a final decision on a shunt. Please, please pray that she does not have to have one.
If she does not need a shunt they are even talking about her being able to go home this week!!
This is so miraculous and everyone in Susan's family recognizes that!

I had a question posed to me this evening that made me think of your situation.
A friend of ours (awesome, Godly family!) has been job hunting and may be getting a job offer on Monday. This would not be his first choice position. His wife has a progressive liver disorder and they need health insurance asap.
He since has had a phone interview with another company for an outstanding job. He has a second interview on Thursday. They do quite a background check and it may take awhile to make their choice.
He wants to do the ethical thing and wants to know what he should do if he is offered the so-so job on Monday. Of course, they are really praying about this and hopefully God will make it crystal clear.
I told them that I thought someone I knew had been in a similar situation and I think that someone was you!
Were you ever in that dilemma? If so, what did you do?

just a quick note from our sermon today. the message was on Ps 22-one of the elders gave the message. He was studying something else when he happened to re read and noted that in this messianic psalm Christ essentially calls himself a worm and not a man. this bothered him and he decided to research more. apparently the word used as worm also means scarlet and crimson (the word is only used 8 times in the OT for worm, about 30 some for scarlet and a few for crimson)-he thought this very odd until he read about the worm in question-since apparently this means a specific worm. The female of these worms when ready to give birth-crawls up a tree, attaches herself to the tree and dies while giving birth to her young. in the process of dying she essentially explodes and covers her young turning scarlet in the process. (this is the worm that was used in ancient times to dye wool scarlet or crimson.) the young have to eat their way through the mother's body and in the process her remains then turn white. He then read the verse in IS about though our sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow and though they be crimson (same word as the worm) the shall be white as wool.
he generally researches things to the nth degree so while I haven't confirmed the entirety of the research I thought it worth posting. (I would add he has yet to be inaccurate with his research so the part about the usage and the worm would be true I leave the conclusions to themselves)

I would advise your friends to pray on the situation. Lacking any clear direction from G_D, then I would accept the lesser company if it's offered. I would NOT terminate his application with the company he would prefer to work with. In other words, take the one job but be prepared to jump ship if the opportunity is offered.
I hate saying this. I was brought up in an era (not THAT long ago) where companies had "Personnel" offices. Personnel offices work with persons -- living, breathing people. Thanks to the growth of "Our people are our greatest resource," we now have "Human Resources." The problem is that every good capitalist knows that resources are meant to be used up and the husks discarded, or used to make something else like plastics or baby food.
Consequently, I've lived through a number of times where the company I worked for (for example) didn't meet it's third-quarter expectations, and so I was one of two million people nationwide that were "downsized." The "contract" between employer and employed has disintegrated: employees simply cannot depend on loyalty from the employer, and so should not be expected to provide any loyalty towards the employer.
I understand from what your friend is saying is that by being ethical, he wants to not take resources from one company when he is not planning to stay for an extended period. In this case, I think he can ethically plan on taking this position if offered. He needs to take care of his family, and his family needs health care ASAP. It also may turn out that this lesser position might be a better fit than he expects. I remember being bitterly disappointed fifteen years ago in not getting this one job, and having to take a lesser job. I wound up really enjoying the people I worked with; and eight months after losing that one job the company folded.
In any case, by not terminating his application with his desired job, he keeps his options open. The desired company may not make an offer, it may not make as good an offer as expected, or it may not make an offer for a couple of months. One company I worked for had a policy that permission to advertise a position was not permission to interview for it, and permission to interview did not mean you could actually hire someone. It was not uncommon for two months to go by between the interview and the offer. I have also had cases where the company did not tell me (or anyone else) that the position had been filled until after 90 days had passed. If the person they hired didn't work out, then they would fall back on their second choice.
If this should happen with one of the other positions I interviewed for (where they ask what I did between the time of the interview and the time they extend the offer), I can honestly say that I accepted this position because the law (in the form of Unemployment Insurance) required that I accept this postion; but it is a contract position with no gurantee of future permanent employment. In my field "contract positions" are a fairly common situation and so leaving one for a "real job" is usually not held against the applicant. I don't know if your friend's industry operates in this way; if so, then if the second (desired) company makes an offer, he could ethically accept the second job. The exception would be if the first job had spent resources in training or somesuch; but that's a big if and should be dealt with if the need arises.
Summary: If it's offered, take the first job. If the second company doesn't come through with an offer, wait six months before looking for a better job. If the company trains you in anything, wait an additional six months (at least -- some sources I read recommend waiting one year) for every week of training they provide for you. So if the company provides two weeks of training in the first six months of employment, you should wait an additional year to two years before moving on so that the company gets some return on their investment.
Feel free to forward this to your friend. This advice, like anything else, is contingent upon whatever G_D directs your friend to do.

I felt led for over a week that I needed to come to your blogspot and felt that someone needed me for something.
I had a lot of trouble getting here, I couldn't remember the name, I was thinking it was Mac's Place, but a search didn't do me any good. Finally I wrote to some of the former Joel Rosenberg bloggers and Sue and Judy both were able to give it to me.
First, I would like to say that your blog is very nice Mr. Hyde. I loved the post entitled, "The Clarity given by the Holy Spirit by Samuel Chadwick," it was just beautiful. I see it was posted by Alesia. Thank you Alesia.
I also looked at Alesia's and Mac's blogspots, and what an inspiration. Alesia, Francis Chan is a favorite of mine too. And Mac, your blogspot was great too. Lots of good information. Can't wait to meet you soon.
I read all the comments on about 5 posts, and I was not moved by the Holy Spirit as to what I was suppose to say or to whom. But, I decided to post and say hello anyway.

There are no words to describe what God has left for us to discover in the Bible. He really wants us to "search" things out.
I wonder if He thinks to himself-OK I designed these divine nuggets of truth and look @ how lazy they are. If only they'll search Me out I'll reveal it to them though the Holy Spirit.
When someone discovers one of these truths it's like getting a giant present & everyone gets to share in it.
Your comment on the Feasts was thought provoking. That since the Spring feasts were fullfilled in a short time span so would the fall feasts.
I went back to the 1st Feast Book I read called "The Feasts of the Lord" God's Prophetic Calendar from Calvary to the Kingdom. (**It has the best drawings & pictures in it.)
Passover-Redemption.Messiah slain as Passover Lamb.
Unleavened Bread-Sanctification-Messiah died sinless-body not to decay.
Firstfruits-Ressurection(or 1st things) When Christ rose from the Dead on 3rd day.
Weeks-Origination. Messiah would send Holy Spirit to inaugurate the New Covenant and the Church Age.
Trumpets-The future day then the Messiah returns to rescue the righteous (rapture) & judge the wicked. (Israel's dark day and known as "The Day of the Lord.")
Yom Kippur- points to the future day when Israel repents of her sins and returns to the Messiah for salvation.
Tabernacles- points to the future day when the Messiah sets up the Messianic Kingdom & tabernacles among men.
So if we apply that logic to the Fall feasts yet to be fulfilled then we could have the rapture of the Church in a pre-wrath timetable.
The author of this book has it connected to the 6th seal. He said the Ancient Jewish tradition held that the ressurection of the dead would occur on Rosh Hashanah & Jewish gravestones were often engraved with a shofar.
Also that scripture often speaks of men or angels blowing trumpets but only twice is it recorded that God blows a trumpet. In both instances, it is the shofar. One was in Ex 19:18-20 on Mt.Sinai and the next is prophetic in Zech 9:14.
(The ancient rabbis connected this verse w/ the Messiah revealing himself.)

"As the Day of the Lord begins,God's last trump will be sounded, the Messiah will reveal himself in great wrath, and He will prepare the nation to be brought into the New Covenant." (Jer 41:31,Ezek 20:35-38;Zech 13:9)
I don't agree w/the author on all his theories because he would have it as the Church going though wrath w/Israel until "Israel" repents.
And-the catching up may just be another mystery on the date & not connected what-so-ever. But it doesn't hurt to look @ how He's operated in the past & apply the same to future events. There appears to be a reason for all the symbolism the Jews were required to follow.
****I don't consider applying the Feasts to God's timetable as restraining or restricting His power in anyway since He is the one who designed it all to work that way in the 1st place.

Anyway-like I said-if you think Rosh Hashanah is in rapid succession w/the other fall feasts then I think it would signify the
2nd coming of Christ & not the rapture at all coming from a Pre-Trib standpoint.
As you know some consider "The Day of the Lord" the entire 70 weeks so then Rosh Hashahah is connected to the "catching up" Pre-Trib style.

actually it wasn't out pastor it was one of the elders who preached. as it happens he is also the person in charge of our youth-I think they are in safe hands. He gave the most amazing sermon on one of the genealogies one time as well.
as to the laziness factor very possible. I have heard that preached on before and it was mostly that Christ was saying that because of the mocking and insults discussed on the heels of that particular statement. Also true but then one misses the stunning symbolism of the worm.
for what it's worth, as someone who holds to a more traditional pre trib position and after doing some reading on the traditional Jewish meanings of the fall feasts my conclusions, albeit tentative, are as follows
1-i think it is safe to say that it is an assumption on our part that the sign of the son of man is either an astronomical sign (there was one at his first coming so it would make sense that there would be one at his second coming but I don't think that's it) or even the sign of the cross (a prior assumption even of mine). If the feast of trumpets is about God coming to judge, then may be the sign of the son of man is a trumpet. oddly very simple. interestingly enough the time between feast of trumpets and yom kippur is for those who are fence sitters to turn to God and be sealed so that when the final judgment is passed on yom kippur one is found in the book of life. If the trumpet is indeed the sign of the son of man then the 10 days between Christ's coming and yom kippur would be the last battle and thus making it obvious to those who have yet to choose either the mark of the beast or God that there are eternal consequences to their decision.
2- if one considers that the abomination of desolation is the AC/Satan standing in the Holy of Holies declaring himself as God then after Satan is defeated and bound for a time, Christ could go to the third temple and stand in the same spot as the victor over satan and say "I AM" thus fulfilling yom kippur since Christ is both our high priest and sacrifice. Or aleternatively, the judgment of the sheep and goats could be the fulfillment of yom kippur since yom kippur is not only the day of atonement but also of the day of sealing one's fate and God's final judgment.
3-the first feast that was observed after the Jews went back from captivity was Tabernacles. It is also the one feast which all the nations will participate in during the 1000 years. It is therefore likely Tabernacles will also be the first feast of the millennial kingdom. It could even be the marriage supper of the Lamb as the last of the spring feasts appears to have established the church. the marriage of the Lamb takes place in Heaven but the feast takes place afterwards and many are bidden. Plus, tabernacles celebrates in part God dwelling with us-again another reason it will be the first feast observed in the millennial kingdom
a few random thoughts on a monday morning
Good God's Day everyone! It is absolutely gorgeous in Okieland this day and the start of a new week. It is amazing the changes taking place in our part of the country right now and in all of my years living here in this wonderful State, it is by far the prettiest ever. Normally, in September, the green grass have turned a lovely beige, the trees would look as if they were gasping for water and kind of dingy with a lot of dead spots and the Shumac brushes a deep rusty color. Not this year. Everything is a healthy green with the signs of leaves starting to turn their normal colors for fall. The Shumac is a rich crimson that highlites the picture.
Now I am telling you all this because I love the fall and the brilliant colors that God paints the picture with. I especially enjoy the Shumac and it is the first sign of autumn. The colors it displays are rich and vibrant and complete the picture of the coming Glorious Display put on and directed by God himself.
Seeing Miss Child of the King's name being posted here and her remarks gave me that same wonderful feeling. Ahh, it feels so good! Bless your heart Child and thank you for stopping in. Hope it isn't the last time either.
A little tip to make the print bigger on the monitor: Hold down the control (Ctrl) key and then the + (plus key) and the size of the fonts will get bigger. You can keep increasing the size way up and I use it all of the time. Same holds true of reduction, just use the minus (-) key to reduce. When it is published it will be the normal size for everyone else but we are still able to see what we are doing.
Child, Jim is getting closer to the Kingdom Door but we aren't giving up on him. Not by a long shot. I thank you for keeping him in your prayers. I know it is just a matter of time but it would be great if it were today.

I did get a chuckle on your post to me.
I did very poorly in plane and solid geometry in high school (which is all about logic)-couldn't do a mathematical proof to save my life or anyone else's. Took engineering physics in college (it was all that was offered and is a requirement for med school) and struggled. Chemistry classes I took but not my forte although did very well all things considered in quantitative analysis. I'm a biology major for crying out loud and we're the "fluff" crowd by and large of the science classes. I'm not sure where the analytical thought processes have come from really (yes I know God what I meant was not sure when I bloomed so to speak). must have been all those crossword puzzles and logic puzzles or at some point some switch just flicked on in my brain.
thank God seriously because i couldn't do what I do without His gift.

we are studying Hebrews in Sunday school and yesterday spent the hour on heresies and Tolle, Oprah and Obama came up. The teacher read a couple of lines from this article and
I was intrigued enough to go read it for myself.

as the teacher's wife said-the scary thing about this all is that Oprah has a wide audience of people who accept what she says uncritically and as gospel. further apparently oprah has links to wiccan sites from her site and notes that her new philosophy is completely compatible with Christianity.
this philosophy is straight out of the pit of hell make no mistake. Tolle speaks of a spirit he calls "the source" which could be none other than the father of lies himself.

now here's a solution to the financial crisis I received in my email-if only it would come true. I would note the tax rate mentioned for the sum of money being talked about is not 30% but 38%.

My plan is to give $425,0 00 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family? Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved. Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads. Put away money for college - it'll be there Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs. Buy a new car - create jobs. Invest in the market - capital drives growth Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves. Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other compan y that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

I just love Pastor Chan, he is awesome, awesome, awesome! I've gotten into the habit of going for a walk during lunch & I listen to his sermons then.
Today's sermon I listened to was "Holiness" - fantastic it was.
Alesia, I still prefer Jib as president, any day; with or without the promised $297,500.00. Of course, I had already picked out my villa in Italy so I could be close to the action when it really kicks in.
On second thought, it will probably be a lot more active right here in the good ole USA a whole lot sooner. We got hit really hard again today and my swallower is trying to go on strike. If you know what that means. I think I will just get drunk in the Holy Spirit and show the shallow swallower who is boss.

We just got in from the shofar blast. Actually, this was my best sounding try so far-not bad. One of my girls couldn't find her plastic kids shofar so she brought out her marsh mellow shooter. (Not quite the same effect.)
Then in the middle of the procession one of those black military helicopters flew right over our house so I made sure he got a big blast. Then I come back to the drastic stock market plunge.

hubby just received a phone call about 2 hours or so ago that his dad was found unconscious again, this time at the computer and not on the floor which is far more dangerous since his head was above his heart and mom in law called 911. he was being admitted obviously but she is actually in worse shape-she is having to be admitted due to hysteria and need for acute iv sedation. there has been some discussion about sending my dad in law home which I think is a major stupid maneuver since there is no one at home to look out for him and this is the second time in a week this has happened. your prayers are appreciated
Another prayer request....Susan just called and the neurosurgeon has decided to give the baby a shunt.
The surgery will be tomorrow. Susan is disappointed and concerned for Jen.
JIB-can you enlighten me at all about shunts for water on the brain. My understanding is that it is something she will always have to have.
I trust God. If this is what has to be He intends it for good.
Please pray for the surgery tomorrow and for Kaitlynn's family to see God in this.

my knowledge is fairly limited on shunts other than they've come along way since my brother had one placed in the 60's for water on the brain. he did quite well for some time. when his shunt malfunctioned it was easily replaced. he died from unknown causes and at the time of autopsy the shunt was working fine.
as with all foreign objects placed in the body there is a risk that they can become infected. it is however quite low.
other than that don't know much sorry. I try very hard not to take care of people with shunts since we have no neurosurgeon at my hospital.

Grace, I know of quite a few children who have shunts. Most kids with Spina Bifida seem to have them.
For most of these kids, it is not a big deal and the kids barely even know they have a shunt.
I do know of one young girl who does not have spina bifida but who has a shunt and has had many, many surgeries regarding these shunts...but I do not think this is typical.
We will keep the entire family in our prayers.

Well, for one thing the drop didn't occur on Rosh HaShanna. It occured the day BEFORE Rosh HaShanna. Rosh HaShanna didn't start until sundown on the 29th and will end at sundown on the 30th. So today was Erev Rosh HaShanna -- a day to prepare for the new year.
A few things are traditional in Jewish practice on this day. Besides visiting the graves of holy people to ask for their prayers before the Most High, there are a set of morning prayers that must be read. These are penitential prayers, asking G_D's forgiveness, ending with a prayer called "Remember Your Covenant."
After this, the men of the community can partake in Hatarat Nedarim, "The Annulment of Vows" so they can start the new year free of the sin of unfulfilled vows.
For the stock market to fall so precisely -- 777.7 points, losing 7% of its value -- directly speaks of G_D's hand in this. With our pleas to G_D to "Remember Your Covenant", G_D is reminding us of OUR need to keep OUR covenant with HIM.
This happened on the day BEFORE the New Year, and on the day before the ten-day period of repentence begins. It is definitely a call to begin a new life with the new year; to be more responsible in whatever promises we make to our family, our friends, and our communities; to repent and return to Your G_D, who is both merciful and just. We must not look at just what is happening to the market and to the economy; we must change our lives and keep HaShem before us always. We had a great service yesterday in Jupiter. My husband rigged up a 300 watt stereo sound system and aimed it toward a muslim compound. We prayed, played praise and worship and then at 12:46PM, played the shofar blasts from the El Shaddai website.
It was very moving and I was planning to say a few words after, but it would've cheapened the whole thing. I couldn't speak.
Some neighbors walked outside to see what the noise was coming from. This is a very rural community for Florida.

Congress isn't "celebrating" Rosh HaShanna; however, Rosh HaShanna is a prescribed day of rest -- absolutely no work -- so none of the Jewish members of Congress can do anything. It's also a two-day holiday, so no work on Tuesday or Wednesday. They could start on Wednesday after sunset in DC; whether or not they will is another question.

dad in law appears to have had a clot go to his lungs. very serious problem-can be instantly lethal. usually from blood pooling in the legs but he's a pretty active guy and no travel to speak of so he may have a hidden cancer somewhere which is realistically the only other option. there are other reasons but would have expected them to have shown up long before now since they are inherited problems. he is in icu but being transferred to a step down unit this morning
mom in law is doing better but apparently very depressed. she is very close to her sister who had lung cancer surgery this summer and just in the last 2 weeks or so has been feeling better and she has now found her husband unconscious twice in the last 4 days. she had mentioned in an email that she thought they would have to move to a different house, downsize etc so I think she is very overwhelmed at this point. she may or may not go home today.
the oldest son should be arriving very shortly-took a leave of absence from job to fly home. wife and kid stayed behind. they are still recovering from Ike since they live in Houston.
we had a planned trip already to go visit and we are leaving Friday
pray for safety for all.

Hubby has been a heavy investor for decades and even he shook his head. But I don't put the blame on the president or congress. Can any of us really picture Ms Pelosi engineering this in all seriousness? I do see the hand of Soros and the Saudi Gang of 20 though. I am referring to the 20 terrorist either.
Oh, I wish we hadn't sold our business when we did. I could have found out all of the pieces for us but now the group that purchased it are long gone and the business is no more. That was the final mystery as far as I was concerned. It is almost as if it never existed and that really upsets me.
Well, anyway, we have today and we had best make good use of it for the Kingdom of God.
I got up this morning with a dread of "what else, Lord?" but just a few minutes ago, I had the most wonderful peace take hold of me in a big way. Then I felt a "everything will be as it needs to be". Not quite the right words but it was the impression I received. Now I will say up front and out loud, I do not believe the tax payers should be the ones to foot the bill for greed, dishonesty in buying, selling, and lending and we should not have to pay the bill for compulsive gamblers either. I could add a whole lot more to it but I won't and you should all be thankful for that. If these institutions and individuals have to be aided then let the means be loans that they have to repay with interest just like the rest of us do. But to see Fannie and Freddie's CEO's walk out the door with huge $40 and 50,000,000.00 parachutes just is beyond decency. You know that rewards are for excellence in achievements not failures.
No, I will not get on that soap box because it just is a waste of time. But you better be sure that the ones in charge of this mess will be hearing a lot of condemnation from the voters of this country and other nations as well. Maybe this will help to open the eyes of their hearts to what really is.

When I think of what you do professionally and what is facing you with your husband's parents, I know that God's hands are in it for the Good. I know that we are all praying for you, Hubby, and his parents. I am adding mine to the group and where there is agreement there is victory.

Is America a sinking ship? Am I witnessing, even as I sit at my gate at the Atlanta International Airport, the beginning of the end for this nation?
Is this a crazy question; an over reaction? Am I sensationalizing this?
You be the judge. But let me tell you about the last 24 hours of my 18-day speaking trip through the south-eastern United States.
Late yesterday afternoon (9/28/08). I arrived in Roswell, just north of Atlanta, GA, ending a four hour drive down from just north of Nashville, Tennessee.
The gas (petrol) tank in my rented car was empty, needle flat on the floor, but I thought to take a chance and get to the end of the journey before filling up so I would not have to do so again.
Pulling into a gas station, I almost ran into orange traffic cones that had been placed in front of the pumps. No other cars were there. I glanced at the sign which normally states the price-per-gallon of the different fuel grades. Nothing was written on them.
The station was empty. So was the next one, and the next, and the next. All the way to my host’s home I passed silent, ghostly gas stations. It left me with no choice but to return my car empty to the nearest Avis office, and pay the exorbitant fee to have them fill the tank.
This morning my host needed to fill his tank to bring me to the airport. We drove again past numerous empty stations. It has been this way for a week, he told me. Then we saw a long line of cars waiting at one station that did have gas. But after dropping me off at a nearby store my friend quickly returned to the station only to find the line suddenly gone as that station, too, had exhausted its supplies.
He had to search for another one and wait in line for more than an hour until he finally reached the pump.
Returning home to pack my bags, we were just enjoying a last cup of coffee together when the shocking news broke around the world: The $700 billion so-called rescue package being debated on Capitol Hill had failed to pass.
Financially speaking, all hell broke loose.
Within minutes the Dow Jones Index on the United States Stock Exchange crashed through the floor, making its biggest single day drop in history.
Listening to the announcer’s voice and the voices of those being interviewed, I felt panic hovering, even at the door.
Our ride to the airport was quick and easy. It should have been early rush hour, but the traffic flowed easily as relatively few vehicles were on the road. In this energy-guzzling land where public transportation is almost non-existent and every family member has a car, no gas = no movement.
How are they going to survive?
Now here I sit in the airport, surrounded by stunned fellow travelers – the man next to me talking animatedly on his cell phone, brow furrowed, hand taping nervously on his knee. I overhear him asking the other party: “Are you watching this? Do you know what’s happened?”
From the CNN screen the increasingly hysterical broadcaster says things like: “We are dropping right into the abyss.” “We are headed right into another great depression.” “Americans need to realize that life will change; that life has changed.”
When I took leave of my friend a few minutes ago I said: “I feel like I’m leaving a sinking ship.” He laughed, a little nervously too I thought. “I think I’ll go with you.”
My throat is dry, eyes behind my sunglasses pricking with tears as I imagine what the people of this great land could be about to go through. The cloud that seems to be boiling up on the horizon is a fearful one.
And it need not have come. It should not have come. But it is here.
And still, in the midst of reporting on this economic earthquake, CNN could not refrain from continuing with its endless attacks on Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin – listing all the “gaffes” it said she has made since being selected by John McCain. That twisted “news network” appeared to see such slander as offering light relief.
I want to say “God bless America.”
But what comes out is: “God have mercy on America. Would you please yet extend some measure of Your grace to these United States?
Dear God. Please get through to the leadership. Please open the way for someone, whoever You can use, to reach the ear of the president and rivet him with the truth: that the answer to everything that is unraveling is right there in front of him; that if he persists in pushing Israel to relinquish its homeland, endangering the very existence of Your people, he will have steered this ship – the USA – right into the hurricane path of Your fury and Your curse.
Open the door. Open the door. Let SOMEBODY get to Mr. Bush! I will go. If someone “out there” can open the door and get me to him, I will turn right around as soon as I get home and come right back. If You will only open the door and give me the words to say.
Will You still be merciful to this land? Will You remember all those here who DO love You and who have wept – even in my presence over these past days – at the terrible way this administration is endangering Israel by forcing, pushing, pressing the Jews to divide up and give away their land, YOUR land?"
Normally I wouldn't copy and paste but I wanted you to read what he has to say. I intend sending this message to President Bush and Ms. Rice, in such a manner as to make them know that I will hold them responsible for their actions and their doing so deliberately after being so thoroughly warned. The rest of you might consider something a little less drastic but this is right for me.

I'm trying to distract myself from the economy woes. I had a strange morning & I'm exhausted. I think it's so great that some can pray when asleep. But when I wake up I always have a song of praise in my mind. Sometimes I remember it while I dream but really I think it kicks in right before I'm fully awake. The songs are different & recently thought about writing them down to see how random they are.
But this morning I had a stanza come to mind and I soon forgot what it said but it was not w/ a tune or something familiar.Just like reading 4 lines.The last one said something like this & the only one I remember:
"Consider the 70 weeks have begun."
I can't say that's exactly word for word but in essence the message. It's like I woke up w/a sense of a spiritual battle going on. Really strange.
But why "consider"? This just may be my subconscious because it's been on my mind anyway. It was enough to catch my attention though. So I pray & then as my cats were going wild around the room they literally knocked the glass top of the nightstand onto the floor with the lamp,and junk on the table.
So I think I'm attempting to divert my thoughts today.

What if George Bush is behind all this mess? After all, it's been reported that closed door meetings have taken place. Who knows what the agenda was all about? Was it, allow this country to come to a position like this, (or worse) so the public would embrace something like the North American Union?

Marge, Paranoia is the false impression that some one is out to get them. When it is a known fact they become known as very intuitive. Of course, psychologist would prefer you don't know that little bit of information. They get big bucks for paranoia and zilch for intuitiveness. Unless they can pin another tail on it.

I just received the news letter from Olive Tree Ministries, and Jan Markel also mentioned the North American Union! Wow! AND she also mentioned since a lot of Jews are managing big money, that we may have a time come when we'd (the country) blame the Jews for all the problems, like in pre-Hitler Germany. You also were a sight for sore eyes for me too. I think of you often and have such good feelings knowing that you are always going to be about your Father's business. And, when I'm prompted to pray for you, I know that God is working on your behalf because you are sharing the gospel.
Have you noticed an increase in your church with many of the lay people who have never really been active in evangelizing, who now are quite active in sharing the gospel with others? It sure is happening in our church and the other evangelical churches in my little town are reporting the same thing. God is really moving in our liberal town. People bringing people to church with them like never before, and people coming because a member of the body has shared Christ with them, and they were told to find a bible believing church where they could grow to maturity. It is very exciting to see God move within the body of Christ as the apostate church grows too. I don't let myself get discouraged with the Emergent Church, as I see and hear the body of Christ moving in His anointing snatching many out of this despictable movement. And, I know that when we hear the shout to "Come Up Here," we will be 100% complete with not one member missing from the body. Ahmain! And, yes I feel with every fiber of my body that it will be very soon when we hear that shout. But, I also whisper a prayer, "just a little longer please Jesus, a few more days to get our loved ones into your body."

I suffer from dementia and so I am not sure. I talked with Davey this afternoon and he said that he thinks Alesia and Mac posted on Joel's just prior to Joel closing his blog down. I'm pretty sure I remember Mac, if he's the one who blogged on Jack Kinsella's forum. Davey also cleared up my confusion regarding Mac and Mr. Hyde. I'm sitting here with egg on my face. Well, although I felt the LORD was asking me to post here, I'm sure I will not be coming in very often to become a blogger again. So much to be done and that is not a task He has given me. I have to share with you all something that happened today that I am just dancing happy about. We got hit hard yesterday by the market going scuba diving. Big time! Hubby just came out to the kitchen to tell me that we are back even with the value and all in one day! Now I have admonished him that when a nation thumbs its nose at the word of God, bad things happen and he said (I gotta shout this one) I KNOW IT WAS GOD WHO BROUGHT ABOUT THE RECOVERY FOR MY INVESTMENTS AND GOD HAS EVERY RIGHT TO JUDGE THIS NATION. IT IS LONG OVERDUE. Now this came from a man who isn't saved yet but is getting very close and I am absolutely ecstatic, Holy roller happy and doing a matrix thing on the walls and ceilings. Oh, man does it feel good to rejoice hysterically.
You all enjoy the breath you are drawing and the sight you are seeing and thank God for each and every sense you have been blessed with. He loves you, you know!

I was going to tell you about my trip to Sam's Club today and when hubby shared his good news, I forgot it.
In Sam's, people are most generally nice but non-communicative. They push they carts, filling them with this and that, keep to their side of the aisle (mostly) and then we all race to the checkouts. Well today, the store was busy and this is one of the bigger ones. I went in not expecting much but happy for the fact that I could walk without a limp, wasn't hurting anywhere and I could see!
Hubby went to run an errand and I knew I would have time to browse so I waddled down every aisle looking and looking. Everywhere I went people would smile at me and then say "God bless you mam" and nod their heads in my direction. I don't remember this ever happening before but it got my attention real quick. Then I realized that I was repeating the same thing back to them. Finally, I came to a cute little couple that looked like they were in their late 80's and as our eyes met, I nodded at them and said "Shalom" and they both just beamed and said "shalom" back but with a whole lot of additional Hebrew words. Then he explained he had given me Shalom and then said Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.
I about made puddles right there in plain sight. Then I come home and hubby walks into the kitchen while I am fixing our evening meal and tells me his news about the market and it's affect on our life.
Is God good or what? Of course he is good and like Marge says, Good all of the time.

Biggest problem with this article is that it's what I see as typical conspiracy theory: you take a large organization, say, the Girl Scouts, and define them as the bad guys. By defining them as the bad guys right at the start, you don't have to acknowledge or believe anything good about them -- saves you a lot of time. It also means that you don't have to go to the organization to get answers to your questions: they're the bad guys, so by definition they will lie to you about anything and everything. Finally, it means you can use whatever interpretation of history you choose. OF COURSE the bad guys will defend themselves, which again makes everything easier: they denied it, so it must be true. Mix in a little reality, and you have absolute proof of evildoing.
I'll try to clarify as much as I can; but like most conspiracy theory literature, it would take more ink (or electrons, in this case) to correct the errors than was used to print the literature in the first place.
When Joel Bainerman says, "Also, when these "Holy Sites" were under the jurisdiction of the Jordanians from 1948-1967, no Pope demanded the 'internationalization of Jerusalem'," that's not exactly true. In the time when the British Mandate was ending and the UN was planning on creating a Jewish state, the partition plan also called for an Arab state AND FOR THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF JERUSALEM. When Jerusalem was under siege, though, the Jewish leaders went to the UN and said, "You voted for internationalization, fine. Send in the UN troops;" the UN froze and did nothing. There was no Pope calling for the "internationalization of Jerusalem" between 1948 and 1967 because there was NO ONE calling for that, and there was no theological reason do to so. There were occasional problems with the Jordanians restricting access to Holy Sites, but the Jordanians let the Vatican know quite clearly that if they made a big stink, the Jordanians could make life for the Arab Christians living in the area very difficult.
"The story of this production is that this "Messiah" will merge the three monotheistic religions,..." This is totally incorrect. To talk about "merging" means diluting: you can't merge such disparate entities without losing something essential about all of them. I agree, this is what the Antichrist will do. This is not, however, what the Vatican will do or believes will happen. What the Vatican believes in is conversion: that the Holy Spirit will, without sword and without coercion, cause the Jews and the Moslems to come to Christianity. Specifically, converting to Roman Catholic Christianity. This isn't merging, melding, or diluting the three monotheistic religions; these are Jews and Muslims abandoning their former beliefs to embrace the Cross of Jesus.
Question: many, many times Mr. Bainerman says that "the information is on the Foreign Ministry website." Fine. Where? This is a web document. Why doesn't he link to the appropriate documents so we can verify his statements? Is it because we might TRY to verify his statements? Again, conspiracy theory literature is like cult literature: investigating claims is subtly if not actively discouraged.
I'm only up to November, 1992, and I just gave up and skimmed to the end. FWIW, Pope John Paul II explicitly rejected replacement theology, so that part of his theory falls apart. I'd like to propose a new theory: Certain individuals in the Israeli government worked secretly to give all of Jerusalem to the Vatican. NOT as part of some evil plan by the Vatican to usher in the Antichrist. Rather, as a fall-back position in case the Oslo Accords went south.
Look at it this way: 15 years ago, groups in the Israeli government recognize or believe that at some point Israel will have to do something about Jerusalem; that at some point there will be enormous pressure on Israel to return Samaria and Judea as well as the western part of Jerusalem -- all the land won in the 6-Day War. Given the possibility of Palestinian possession of the Holy Sites and the desecrations that will follow, this group organizes a clandestine -- but with government approval, with full deniability -- back-channel to the Vatican. In a worst-case scenario, the secret agreements with the Vatican go into effect. The Vatican is an international body, so Jerusalem effectively becomes internationalized; the Vatican's record with regards to Holy Sites, particularly non-Catholic non-Christian ones is well known and respected, and now it's the Vatican who can deal with Jordan and the Palestinians, as well as the Greeks, Armenians, and every other nationalistic religious group with a stake in the Holy City. So maybe the Jews won't hold the Holy City, but they can deal with the Vatican, and it's safe from the Arabs.
15 years later, the situation has changed a little, but the agreements haven't. They're all still in place, ready to be implemented if necessary.

I so glad that I was the first one to welcome you, I wasn't always real good in that area.
I do remember that you got "yelled at."
I do remember some of those conversations. And, I sort of understand where you are coming from. I don't find too many "political liberals" in the
evangelical churches and I believe that it was more a matter of definition than title. Both of my parents were "politically democrat," and I never changed them although I tried very hard to do just that. Although voting for democrats, they never considered themselves liberal but conservative. They both experienced the great depression and they adored FDR, so did both of my grandparents. But, as I neared voting age, I recognized something very evil within the democrat platform. I even went so far as to get copies of their platforms almost every election cycle and went over each plank with them. But the thought that democrats were for the "common man" (their words not mine), and the republicans were only for the "rich." was etched so deeply in their minds that I never budged them one iota. And my grandparents, my parents, and the few in my church (all older people) who are democrats were and are 100% committed to Christ.
I think the true body of Christ has failed in our responsibility to care for the truly needy, the ones who are not able to help themselves, the widow, the widowers, the ophans, the single parents and those children who have been raised under the "foster care program" and are cut loose when they turn 18, even if they are still in high school. If we had done our job right, the government would not have been able to "redistribute the wealth," to take care of those problems that I believe are the entire church's responsibility. Many of our churches do a great job in all of those areas, mine does, but some just give their tithes and offerings to the church and are not involved otherwise. Ok, I'm off my soap opera box. I love you even if you don't agree with all my personal views. I think we agree on what the Bible says, and we both love our LORD.
I have put your husband in my prayer basket for the unsaved. I don't know his name so I put Donna's husband on the card. God knows who he is. My prayer is that God will show you how to pray for him so that he will develop a hunger for truth, and will have his eyes opened and his heart softened so that he will be ready to receive the Word. I'm also going to pray that you will have full confidence that the LORD will give you the right things to say, if that door is opened to you. Just please don't grow weary in your praying and believing that the LORD loves him more than you ever could. I'm believing for your husband's salvation alongside of you.

Donna, The gas is still a problem. Many stations are empty but some get fill ups @ night. Friday's are really bad but throughout the week if your savy-it's possible to find gas. (My hubby is so anal about it he keeps the tanks full.) I just as soon run out of gas & stay home. I'll hitch the pony to the cart if I have to.

It's tough for me to ask for prayer for specific things - I did so the first time last year and it was a very humbling experience. I can see now, though, that it was for my own good to experience that.
Lisa, Shalom! I've reached a stage at work where I can take the time to respond to your questions about that Vatican evolution story. Your reaction to the quote by Pope Benedict that "In effect, the word of God can never simply be equated with the letter of the text," shows the need to exercise discernment. In short, I think you ignored the word "simply" in that statement. In other words, there is more than one valid way of interpreting scripture. To ignore these other ways (historical, literary, etc.) is to miss out on different depths of meaning.
Also, the Vatican is neither "pro" or "anti" evolution. Evolution is viewed as a tool that G_D uses in both His past created works and in his present creating works. HOW He uses that tool is up to him. The article stated that Benedict "... stopped short of endorsing what is known as 'intelligent design.'" FWIW, When I first read about "intelligent design", I recognized it as what I was taught mumble mumble years ago. And again, at the end of the article, "Schoenborn has said he wants to correct what he says is a widespread misconception that the Catholic Church has given blanket endorsement to Darwin's theories."

Boy, I bet you drove your momma crazy with questions like "Why is the sky blue?" and "Who made God?"
Let me start by saying that in the eyes of the RCC, if you were baptised "In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" as we are commanded to do in the Great Commission, then the RCC considers you to be Catholic, although an "imperfect" one. Churches and faiths that baptise only in the Name of the Father, or who use some other form in "baptizing" or "christening" are not Christian. They may have the word "Christian" in their name, but without baptizing using the Triune Formula (as it's called), they cannot be Christian. So, you'd have to ask yourself: how many of these "minority of Christians" are really Christian? How many of them will cry, "Lord, Lord!" only to be not recognized because they were never a part of the Mystical Body of Christ?
Second, any conversion will be the work of the Holy Spirit. It will be a gift that is freely offered, one that each of us will be free to accept OR REJECT. This is why we must pray for G_D to enrich us with the spirit of discernment. Those who don't cultivate this spirit through their prayer life may not recognize this call as coming from the Holy Spirit. Others pray and try to cultivate this gift of discernment, but then only recognize it when it involves things they already want to do. And sadly, there will be those who are so horrified at the thought, so entrenched in their beliefs ( "This saying is hard; who can accept it?") that, even though they may speak with the Spirit daily, they will deny that the Holy Spirit is speaking to them and call the Holy Spirit the spirit of evil. I believe this happened in Scripture, too, in Mark 3:28-30, when Jesus was accused of being possessed by Beelzebul.
This is what discernment means: to learn to recognize your Master's voice. There cannot be "parallel branches". Right now there are over 35,000 parallel branches, many which hold as true teachings that directly contradict what other branches hold as true. Can they all be true? There is only one Way, one Truth, and one Life; and that is in Christ Jesus. Would Our Shepherd leave us scattered in 35,000 ways, ready for the wolves to consume us; or would He bring us together to face the Evil One as one flock?
Lest anyone think I am boasting, let me be clear: the Evil One has plans for each Christian, especially for the ones in the Vatican. I know that there will be a time when Bishop fights against Bishop and Cardinal will be against Cardinal. The very real possibility of schism in the RCC lies before us, with two Popes but only one of them validly elected. I tell you: whichever of these Popes should preach of unity where there is none; who would preach a Gospel where the created is valued more than the Creator; who would dilute by one drop the Faith of the Apostles, of the early Church, and those who died proclaiming Her Truths to a pagan world, whomever shall do all of this in order to "be more in line with the modern world"; THAT Pope shall be the false pope, no matter where he has his throne.

OK. Lisa, I just want to make some observations that I really couldn't fit into my last reply.
To start, if you examine what was happening in Jewish life in Israel (especially Northern Israel) between 35AD and 70AD, you'll notice a change in thought and practice. The end result of those changes wouldn't become apparent until after Herod's Temple was destroyed. In that one generation, we saw the development of what we now recognize as the synagogue form of Jewish worship. G_D's Holy Spirit was leading the Jewish people (those who were not given the gift of recognizing Jesus as Messiah) to a form of worship and praise that would survive the coming destruction of the Temple.
I see the same thing happening now in the Evangelical world.
Do you remember a few months back when I asked how many people's churches practiced communion? Quite a few of you responded that it was something like once a month, and that you were going to try to get it more frequently.
Imagine the sound of my jaw hitting the floor when I watched Perry Stone "Manna-fest", and here he is with a friend of his promoting not weekly, but daily communion! Stone has re-written his book "The Meal That Heals" about communion, and was selling that along with a communion kit that could be used in a family or in a hospital visit, etc.
Now, mind you, daily communion has been practiced in the RCC for, oh, say the last 20 centuries. Frequent reception of Holy Communion has been a staple of Catholic preaching for a good deal of that time. For me to hear an Evangelical minister promoting not just frequent communion, but DAILY communion ... like I said, my jaw hit the floor.
What's more, at the end of last week's show, my jaw REALLY hurt! Here I had just gotten it attached to my face again, and then there's Perry talking about how next week we're going to talk about the importance of confessing your sins to one another(!) THUNK!!
Of course, in advertising his book, "The Meal That Heals", he was careful to make sure people knew the book would tell them how this communion is different from the false practices of the Catholics, but still... It's hard for me to NOT look at this and other things I'm seeing and reading about, and not compare them to the changes the Jews went through, when G_D was preparing them for the destruction of the Temple.

Campsmore, Shalom! Actually, that "Grid of 100,000 computers" sounds very much like something I participated in a couple of years back. It's called "distributed computing", and it's based on letting someone use your computer when you're not using it.
SETI@home is the example most people are familiar with. You download some software onto your PC. When your PC isn't being used (like when your screensaver activates), the software will download some part of some data and start doing the number crunching. When the numbers are thoroughly crunched, it sends them back and picks up more numbers. The main computer back at the home office takes all these crunched numbers and assembles them into one big crunched number. If it's just one PC, all that number crunching takes a long time; with 10,000 PCs the process goes a lot faster. It looks like they've taken this concept and applied it to supercomputers.

Are you going to send for the book and communion set? There is another very good book on Foods that heal by Dr. Cherry and no, I don't remember his first name. But PIZZA isn't one of them. You could eat the olives, onions, peppers, anchovies, cheese, Pepperoni, and the sauce without the crust and it would be OK, in fact, Jim, if you would take those ingredients in the right proportion to the main ingredient, chopped steak, and put them in a oven proof ceramic or tile casserole dish, it would be very delicious. Or even better still we could all go to Israel, take part in their kibbutzim and really reap the rewards.
As for the rest of the comments, well, Maybe! However, there are ruins thoughout Israel predating the 70 AD time period that show synagogues were pre-existent to the destruction. In the ruins of Masada, Herod built a synagogue and that was prior 70 AD. There is a great web site here:

We, as members of churches through out the world have already begun the process. In our little community there are numerous groups who meet to study the bible, pray and have communion who are not absent from the church building on Sunday and Wednesday. I am a very fortunate Christian who defies the norm these days. We have great bible teaching services and this is inclusive of Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night times. I am free to worship where ever I am and freely partake of God's provisions and blessings directly from Him. So, if I end up living in that cave here in Okieland, I will be very able to approach the Throne of God even if it is only me in attendance.
As Elijah hid in his cave after the Jez marathon, so can I openly take refuge in mine with the attending presence of the Lord. So, He doesn't need a building made by the hands of man, and his word isn't only written on tablets of clay and parchment, but just as Christ said, they are all stored up on my heart, in my mind, and nourishing my soul, daily where ever I am. Now that is what I call total fulfillment.

I have an urgent prayer request for a local 12 year old girl named Jordan.
She was admitted to the hospital with headaches. The doctors accused her of faking her symptoms.
She is still in the hospital and throwing up blood, it appears that now her kidneys are failing.
The doctors told her mom that they didn't know what was wrong with her.
Please pray for divine intervention and wisdom for the doctors. I do not know the spiritual condition of her or her family.

He had catalogued 50+ varieties. The start @ the grays which are only 3-4' tall and go all the way to the Nordic which look completely human. They are taller than the norm and built perfectly. He said the males look like "Fabio" and the females are gorgeous with perfectly balanced proportions. (Don't get any ideas Jim C. were not letting you fall for that one.) But there was nothing obvious that you would notice if you saw them on the street.
What he couldn't grasp is if they are alien species from other planets why they would ALL be biped. Walking upright on two feet. He imagined at least some would not look like human hybrids.

What was the just of J.R.Church?
A little synopsis if you will since we are all blocked out from viewing it.
Lisa, the opening statement was concerning the non passage of the bail out and some info that we already have on it. However, the second statement was the one that caught my attention and kept too, JIM C. Tadah!
He referenced a report by the Rissoam Federa; Security Service having received a notice from England's Financial Minister regarding the USA and the very, very severe danger taking place in our country right now. That there was talk of an October 1 deployment of a battalion of Army troops to be assigned to the USA and then further comments that on October 5th, Pres. Bush will declare a National Emergency and Marshall Law will be enacted to safe guard the stability of the nation from the financial disaster. In the process he will delay or put on hold the national elections of November 4th. Mervin King of the Bank of England was mentioned also in regards to this and that England had already loaned or supplied 45 Million Pounds (now 65) to help the money crunch. There was something about Lehman's but I didn't get to take that note. I will try again and see what I can do. But the whole thing was very somber and serious. You could tell that J.R. was moved but I wondered if it was because of his health issues because he just is not the type of man that gets fearful.
I will try to get back on his site and if I can I will alert you that it is open again. Mark Biltz has a new book and World Net Daily offered it in one of their specials I received. So there might be the reason his site is over loaded. Didn't have any trouble getting onto Rapture Ready today though.

What both Joel and Radarsite are promoting is the idea that there will be some sort of terrorist attack on America, either here or in our holdings or commercial interests overseas on or about Oct. 7 -- next Tuesday. I'm saying, I'm beginning to agree with that assesment. On Radarsite, people were asking each other why October 7, until one poster pointed out that this Oct. 7 will be the 7th anniversary of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan.
With this in mind, I think I know what sort of terrorist attack would be planned on that date. I can see a Beslan-style attack on a number of schools across the country, and/or a number of schoolbusses filled with children being hijacked. While the terrorists may make demands, the desired effect would be the breakdown of American society. The organized execution of so many children by groups stating that, "You were killing Muslim children before 9/11. Now it's time for your children to be killed," would have that effect, particularly if the terrorists can drag out the drama. Beslan lasted 3 days.
Think of what will happen to American society if people start quitting their jobs because they'll be staying home homeschooling their children. Think also, what will happen if the terrorists are not defined as "terrorists" but as an invading force. If that happens, that would justify the use of Army groups in "maintaining order." (And frankly, with the 1st of the 3rd coming back from Iraq with urban warfare experience, they might be just the speartip needed to free the hostages.)
Also, if something like this were to happen, it would only be a matter of time before a mosque or a Muslim family would be attacked in retaliation. As soon as that happens, you can bet Al-Jazerra will be looping that tape 24/7 as proof that America is engaging in a Crusade against Islam.
The terrorists might be trying to repeat the success of the Madrid train bombings. A few days after the bombs went off, people voted out the government and voted in a Socialist government, who promptly pulled all Spanish troops out of Iraq. They might hope that Americans would vote in Obama, who would pull the troops out of Iraq. And it might work. chances are, though, that this would mean a McCain/Palin win. That would be a hollow victory, since they would be governing a broken country.

the whole asteroid thing pops up at least once or twice a year and they even made 2 movies about asteroids hitting the earth-Deep Impact (my personal fav) and Armageddon. while it may be satan knows the time is short but since most scientists think the reason the dinos died was a massive asteroid hitting the earth-you know how Hollywood likes to speculate on what if scenarios.
there have been extensive shows on how many "near miss" asteroids we can expect over the next century.
my memories a bit fuzzy on this but I almost think we are due for another near miss asteroid somtime around 2012-2015. I remember thinking at the time that it wouldn't miss because there is what appears to be an asteroid which hits the earth in Revelation-the star called wormwood. my brain is a little foggy this morning due to lack of sleep-being up for 22 continuous hours gets harder the older I get and I will be older in a matter of days. I used to be able to work about 36 hours continuous with no sleep and now I can only manage about 24.

Have you had your cuppa yet? It is really pretty here in Okieland and there are a bunch (flock maybe) of little wild canaries out in our side garden. I can watch them out my kitchen window and they are absolutely precious. They love our Sweetgum Trees and right now our kitty cat is watching them out the patio window. Even she knows to leave them alone.

Meaning of Numbers in the Bible
Number 7 (Seven) by E. W. BULLINGER
We come now to the great number of spiritual perfection. A number which, therefore, occupies so large a place in the works, and especially in the Word of God as being inspired by the Holy Spirit.
In the first part of this book we have enlarged somewhat on the importance of this number in Nature and in Grace, so that we need not here repeat many of the interesting facts already given.
As a number the actual word and number "Seven" is used as no other number is. Seven and its compounds occur in multiples of seven in the Old Testament.
Seven occurs 287 times, or 7 x 41.
"Seventh," the fractional part, occurs 98 times, or 7 x 14.
"Seven-fold," occurs 7 times.
The above three numbers together are of course a multiple of seven, but a very remarkable one, 287 + 98 + 7 = 392, and 392 is 72 + 73, or 8 times the square of seven (72x8).
Then again seven, in combination with other numbers, is remarkable, such as Fifty and seven, a Hundred and seven, etc. There are 112 of these combinations, or 7 x 16.
"Seventy" occurs 56 times, or 7 x 8.
"Seventy," in combination with other numbers, occurs 35 times, or 7 x 5.
It is, however, when we come to consider its significance that the true glories of its spiritual perfection are revealed.
We have just seen that six is the number which is stamped upon all things human, as being emphatically the number of man. The two numbers, 6 and 7, are further discussed in its own chapter."
SEVEN, BY ITSELF
But now turning to the number Seven, we must first consider the meaning of the word.
In the Hebrew, seven is (ba#$e (shevah). It is from the root (ba#$&af (savah), to be full or satisfied, have enough of. Hence the meaning of the word "seven" is dominated by this root, for on the seventh day God rested from the work of Creation. It was full and complete, and good and perfect. Nothing could be added to it or taken from it without marring it. Hence the word tba#$af (Shavath), to cease, desist, rest, and tb@af#$a Shabbath, Sabbath, or day of rest. This root runs through various languages; e.g., Sanscrit, saptan; Zend., hapta; Greek, epta (hepta); Latin, septem. All these preserve the "t," which in the Semitic and Teutonic languages is dropped out; e.g. Gothic, sibun; Germ., sieben; Eng., seven.
THE DIVISION OF SEVEN INTO FOUR AND THREE
is generally noticeable. It is specially so in the Apocalypse.
The Promises to the Churches
are seven in number. Each contains the solemn exhortation, "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." In the first three epistles the promise (which refers to the past in its imagery) follows this exhortation; while in the latter four the promise (which has reference to future blessings) precedes it.
Our attention is thus called to this great exhortation. It tells us that when these epistles were sent, the Church and the churches had all failed in their corporate capacity. They are addressed not to the churches, but to individuals; and all through, individuals are exhorted. It is the same with John's Epistles, written, like his Gospel and the Apocalypse, at the close of the first century. So that we must not and cannot do as we are bidden on every hand,—"Go back to the first three centuries," and "hear the voice of the Church"; for before the close of the first century we are bidden to hear not what the church or the churches say, but to "hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
The Seven Seals
are thus divided; the first four being marked by the command "Come,"* given to the horseman, while the latter three are altogether different.
* The verb means "to come," or "go."
The Seven Trumpets
are also divided into three and four, the first four being severed from the latter three by the angel flying saying, "Woe, woe, woe."
The Seven Parables of Matthew 13
are also thus marked, as already shown on analysis of the number 4.
The division is still further marked by the three commencing with the word "Again" (vv 44, 45, and 47), while the four are separated by the word "Another"; thus indicating that in the four we have four different revelations in their relation to the world, while in the three we have a repetition of the one truth in different forms in its relation to God's people.

In this number we have quite a new set of phenomena. We come to the first geometrical figure. Two straight lines cannot possibly enclose any space, or form a plane figure; neither can two plan surfaces form a solid. Three lines are necessary to form a plan figure; and three dimensions of length, breadth, and height, are necessary to form a solid. Hence three is the symbol of the cube--the simplest form of solid figure. As two is the symbol of the square, or plane contents (x2), so three is the symbol of the cube, or solid contents (x3).
Three, therefore, stands for that which is solid, real, substantial, complete, and entire.
