John 6: 36-40

Joh 6:36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.

Joh 6:37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

Joh 6:38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.

Joh 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.

Joh 6:40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."

or son's AWANA leader caught my husband tonight and said she'd been trying to catch him. told him that only a kid growing up in a medical household would have substituted the word "paralyzed" for "perished" in John 3:16.

if you think about it though, not only do we not perish but we are also freed from being paralyzed with fear and doubt due to Christ's death and God's love so perhaps he wasn't all that far off

oh
one of Glenn Beck's guests-a psychiatrist of all things said something quasi biblical tonight but likely doesn't know he did. He said the problem currently is that people want to avoid or escape adversity altogether permanently and not just for a short time. the issue he says is that out of adversity comes character and our current society would rather be numb or avoid adversity and until we as a nation have deeper character than we do now we can not turn around. of course we as Christians would add Christ to that above statement as well

Call to Prayer

Today, March 5th, one of the most significant court cases in America’s history will take place. The California Supreme Court will hear arguments regarding the overturning of the vote of the people last year to pass Proposition 8, which defines marriage between a man and a woman. If this vote is overturned, not only will it set a major precedent of the court’s power over the will of the people, but it will likely be the flash point that will determine the future of America as liberal and homosexual agendas will disseminate throughout the educational systems and into the very fiber of American culture. The California State Senate just ruled against the peoples’ vote and asked the court to overthrow the defining of marriage as between a man and a woman. Senator Leno likened the people who voted for Prop 8 to the Germans who voted for the Nazi Regime.

During these past three months since President Obama’s election, the voices of rage against Judeo-Christian values and against the church have been emboldened to use inflammatory language and pass bills and laws that are anti-Christian in their very nature. When senators use such language, persecution is close at hand. We are in a desperate moment in American history. Everyone is pointing to the severe crisis of our economy, but I am convinced it is only an indicator of a massive moral decline America has slid into. It is time to pray, humble ourselves, and rid ourselves of moral compromise in the Church. If the salt loses its savor, it is only good for being thrown out and trampled under the foot of man.

Today we are calling the Church across the nation to pray.

Take this moment and hear His call to humility, fasting and repentance. If we do this, God can deal with kings and judges like He haunted Nebuchadnezzar with dreams and removed Herod by the angel of the Lord. This hearing today will be followed by a 90-day period in which the court must make a decision. Pray for these judges that the hand of God will influence their minds and hearts, that the fear of the Lord would fall upon them, and that dreams would invade their world, their wives, their children, and their innermost thoughts. Pray that God would restrain principalities and powers that have mustered their forces of demons to seize this nation through this door in California. Pray for an unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit in California and America. Pray that God would raise up righteous leaders and bring down the unrighteous ones. Pray for the cleansing of sexual compromise and divorce in the church so that she can reclaim spiritual authority. Finally, pray that the love of God would be poured out on those struggling with homosexuality across this nation. Oh that the power of God, the power of the gospel, would be released again to free the captives!

This is a moment in time that calls for crisis intercession.

To resign to an inevitable collapse of society is sin, for throughout history God has moved with amazing power to change the courses of nations and overthrow the wrongdoers. Just look at Elijah’s confrontation with Ahab and Jezebel. This could be our Elijah moment.

Seize the day,
Lou Engle

Thank goodness-it did seem a little far fetched-but not a whole lot would surprise me anymore w/what has been happening lately.

What did stick in my mind when I read it was that one of those Russian guys who's stated the US is going to break up & be owned by different countries- did mention that CA would come under the control of China.

Now do I really believe him? Not really-but who knows. If the US is not a player in the last days then something is going to happen to our superpower status.

I'll have to check in w/D.H as he does eminent domain work.D.H. admits China does own 70% of the residential mortgages but that since they can't "move" their people over here-it is not in their best interest to foreclose on their ownerships.

What inquiring minds want to know is the real reason that some of the states are seceding from the Federal Union of States.

This week's promise: We are created in His image

Isn't it incredible that God created us with the ability to praise him?

But happy are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. Psalm 146:5 NLT

I'll praise my maker

I'll praise my Maker while I've breath;
And when my voice is lost in death.
Praise shall employ my nobler pow'rs;
My days of praise shall ne'er be past,
While life, and thought, and being last,
Or immortality endures.

Happy the man whose hopes rely
On Israel's God! He made the sky,
And earth, and sea, with all their train;
His truth for ever stands secure;
He saves the oppressed, He feeds the poor,
And none shall find His promise vain.
I'll Praise My Maker While I've Breath (v1,2), ISAAC WATTS (1674-1748)

In Westminster Abbey stands a statue of Isaac Watts with a pen in his hand. Not far from Watts, John Wesley is also honored. This hymn has connections to both men.

As John Wesley lay dying, he surprised his friends gathered around his bedside by singing in a clear voice this hymn of Isaac Watts: "I'll praise my Maker while I've breath, and when my voice is lost in death, praise shall employ my nobler powers."

The next day he tried to sing the hymn again, but he could not. Two or three times he began, but could only say the words "I'll praise." That was all he could get out of his mouth. Then, with those words on his lips, he was ushered into glory.

NEW REPORT SAYS TIME RUNNING OUT TO STOP IRAN FROM GOING NUCLEAR: Israel seriously considering a strike

jim.carroll said...

Lisa, Shalom! Yes, I'd be very interested in what your DH has to say about Eminent Domain. My theory about how that rumor got started is that confusion exists between owning the mortgage and owning the deed. If the Chinese govt. owns the mortgage, then there is a lien against the property. If the property is sold, the new owner cannot get a clear deed to the land until that lien (in the form of the previous mortgage) is paid off.

My concern in this issue is this possibility (which I'd like to hear your DH's take on it):

The mortgage on property A is held by a bank, which either goes bankrupt or has given the US Govt. a controlling interest. If the property is uninhabited and has been foreclosed, the govt. can use its power of Eminent Domain to get a clear and free title to the property. Once the govt. has the title, it can dispose of the property by trading it to China in exchange for release of some of the debt the US owes China. In effect, the govt. would sell the property to China.

Now China doesn't own the mortgage, it owns the actual property. It could chose to rent the property, try to sell it, or (if it gathers enough property in a common area) create an enclave for embassy or consulate staff. If this is the case, then the land in the enclave is no longer American soil, but Chinese soil. American law would not apply there, and if it IS for embassy staff, then Chinese citizens could be made "employees" of the embassy, giving them diplomatic immunity, and settled in the enclave.

Additionally, there is a special visa for people who want to start businesses in the US. The Chinese govt could sign a treaty with the US, setting up factories in the US while exempting these factories from OSHA and other regulations. Perhaps the factories would be built in the enclave, or an existing foreclosed factory could be added to the extraterritorial property of the enclave -- Chinese soil, Chinese law. The new factories would need to have Chinese management on-site, so these houses would be given to these managers.

All this, of course depends on whether or not the US Govt. can use Eminent Domain to gain a clear and free title to foreclosed and abandoned property.

Lisa, Shalom! Two things:

What that Russian guy was talking about re: the breakup of the United States is called "balkanization". The Balkans is that region bordering Western and Eastern Europe where a variety of cultures, nationalities, and languages have been vying for dominance for centuries. Kosovo is in the center of the Balkans and highlights the problems of the region. It was a Slovenian separatist who assassinated the Archduke Ferdinand, setting off WW1. At the end of the war, all these different groups were split off from the Austro-Hungarian Empire (such as Czechoslovakia) to form their own nations; which have further subdivided over the years to even smaller nations (i.e., the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic) as the different cultures got tired of working with each other.

There was a book written almost 30 years ago called something like, "The 10 nations of America" that detailed the cultural differences that existed (still exist) between different parts of the US. I'm not going to deny the possibility of the US splitting, but I think it will come as a reaction to an outside force, i.e., war and/or invasion; or a major natural disaster that the federal govt. cannot respond to, leaving individual states, cities, etc. to fend for themselves.

What's happening now isn't "states seceding from the ... Union"; you have states asserting their States' Rights as noted in the Constitution. We'll have to see how the Federal govt. responds to the States getting uppity.

Turning the Daughter's Heart to the Father's
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 2, by Os Hillman
02-21-2009

"He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse" (Mal 4:6).

I came into the room and greeted my wife. Within a few moments I began to cry uncontrollably. My wife was naturally concerned as she had never seen me do this. I had just returned from dinner with my eighteen year-old-daughter. I had listened to how fearful she was of the future. I was concluding a commitment to a seven year child support and alimony from a divorce that had taken place many years earlier but the impact was still apparent in my daughter's life. It was something I had fought against but lost. I was angry and broken over what she was feeling. It all came to the surface like a boil that needed to burst.

A few months later I had to speak at a conference in Minneapolis. A dear friend came up to me and said, "Os, we want to pray for you and Angie downstairs. Can you come down?" "Sure, we will be right down," I said. We went downstairs to meet them and sat down. My friend and his friend Ron began to pray for us. Ron began to speak about my life in very specific terms. "You have a daughter-...The Lord says she has a gift in writing-poetry-and she has creative gifts. The Lord says she has been in a stronghold for many years in her life but he is about to bring her out of that stronghold. He is turning the daughter's heart back to the father's and He is bringing her home. The Lord says He has seen the tears you have shed for her in your bedroom."

By this time, Angie and I are on the floor weeping. We went home with this profound experience. Within a year, my daughter came to Christ and even came to live at our home for a year.

Do you have a son or daughter that is not walking with God right now? Lay your desire before the Lord and ask Him to draw him or her to Himself. He can do it.

From Joel Rosenberg's blog;

NEW REPORT SAYS TIME RUNNING OUT TO STOP IRAN FROM GOING NUCLEAR: Israel seriously considering a strike

A new report by a highly respected U.S. think tank indicates time is running out for the West to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons. In fact, “Iran is likely to obtain a nuclear weapon within a year as it already has access to enough fissionable material to manufacture 50 warheads, “concludes a report by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, according to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

I know this has been discussed a lot before here and on different blogs. Could we be very close to the Psalm 83 battle? I feel an attack on Iran will be the "hook" for Russia. They have extensive treaties and ties to Iran, and an "unprovoked" attack on Iran could be the tipping point for Russia. I now believe that Psalm 83will be first or at about the same time as Is 17. I think that Psalm 83 will provoke Syria to move against Israel and cause the destruction of Damascus. There has been so much speculation on these and I now feel that this is the sequence that makes the most sense.

Hello everyone,

I'm writing from Egypt. It is so good to have a minute to relax and get caught up on what the church is thinking about, talking about, and acting upon.

It is so true that things are moving at a very rapid pace now, all the prophecy sites are reflecting this sense too.

I've also sensed an increased height of "fear" on so many of the blogs.

Dr. Michael Youssef has done a four-part series on "Freedom from Fear," which is just wonderful. I went to his website and copied the website address. I thought it might be helpful for some who may be in need of these messages, or have loved ones who are experiencing degrees of fear about what may happen in the U.S. and the rest of the globe in the near future.

http://www.apostles.org/page.asp?name=media

I have had the wonderful privilege of working with many of Dr. Michael Youssef's equipping teams here in Egypt as well as other ME countries. I will be leaving Egypt on Sunday and going to another country for a couple weeks then I will be heading back to the U.S. and home to Texas. I wasn't able to visit Israel this trip, but will on my next trip, if it's God's will. I know that you all are keeping Israel in your prayers.

Take care my friends, and keep on sharing the gospel and listening for the shout.

The following is an e-mail I just received. It is sobering. Don't miss the links (I didn't hyperlink so you'll have to cut and paste those).

NOTE from ANDREW STROM: Last year we began to warn about coming Food shortages. We would never do so lightly. And usually I would avoid such talk, because I am very aware of all the false prophecies over the years telling people to store "freeze-dried" food, etc. But I am deadly serious about this. It is one of my greatest concerns - especially for the poor. But likely it will affect us all.

As you can see from the below articles, there is a terrible danger of a "Perfect Storm" developing in food supplies in coming months - with huge worldwide droughts (-already here) combined with credit shortages for farmers, and an international shipping crisis - all coming together. I have added a couple of links at the end of the first (brief) article - which are very important to check out. Please click on those links, my friends. -Truly a crucial subject. Pray and prepare!
-------------------------------------
THE ZANETTI REPORT 27 Feb 2009
-KOB news - kob.com

If you are wondering why your grocery bill keeps creeping, the answer may have to do more with the weather than anything else.
You see, drought conditions are now plaguing the globe.

China is experiencing its worst drought in 50 years and is stockpiling food, because the government knows it has to feed 20 percent of the world’s populations with only 10 percent of the world’s arable land.

In Australia things haven't been this bad in 117 years, as rainfall has been below normal since 2002.

In Africa, water scarcity has depleted soil moisture to the point that the continent has lost the nutrients needed to grow plants in half of its agricultural soil.

In South America, Argentina has not had significant rainfall since November. Brazil’s corn harvest is down 15.5 percent and Uruguay has declared an agricultural emergency. In short, it’s getting ugly.

Marla: What about here in the US?

Greg: It’s a mixed bag. Drought is spreading through California, Washington, Montana, and Minnesota. Fifteen percent of Texas is in extreme drought, and the Carolinas and Georgia need rain
desperately. The midwest is doing OK though. And while no one
thinks that we’re on the verge of mass starvation, depending on how severe this drought is, we could see crop yields world wide fall 20 percent this year.

Marla: So, we will see prices rise.

Greg: Probably, and here is another reason why. Governments know that when people get hungry, they often times get violent.
You might remember the food riots in Mexico last year. So it’s not just China that is stockpiling food... of course hoarding takes more food off the open market, which pushes prices up.

Marla: And didn’t I read that the credit crunch is hurting farmers as well?

Greg: Great point. Last year, a lack of credit impinged on farmers’
ability to obtain seeds, equipment, and fertilizer. So you’re already hearing people say if another stimulus package is considered later this year, it should, at a minimum, target food production....

Jib,

Looking at all the graphs in the news depicting the various stock market indices and how they have dropped off a cliff in the past year reminded me of those heart monitoring machines. What are they called?

Anyway, the market graphs illustrate the health and activity of the stock market like the heart monitoring machines do for a patient's heart. You don't want the line to grow weak but that appears to be what is happening. We're getting closer and closer to seeing the economy "flat line."

I wish I was an editorial cartoonist:-) I'd draw a picture of a patient named US Economy hooked up to one of these machines showing the pulse of the market getting weaker and then flat lining.

Late Night Lisa said...

Mac,

Jib,

Really interesting info on St. Malachy’s prophetic vision & the next-112th Pope will be the last Pope & called "Petros Romanos" (Peter of Rome). Not to mention the City of 7 hills will be destroyed in the Tribulation period.

Jim G. said...

A saw a funny graphic on MarketWatch website today. It had a short list of some very major stocks that had significantly tanked in the past year. It showed each of their prices a year ago and their price today (many around $1 or $2).

The graphic was titled something like Wall Street's Dollar Menu. Made me chuckle. I don't take joy in seeing people suffer from the economic mess but I have to admit, it was clever.

Late Night Lisa said...

Jim G. Your post remided me of this vision-I posted it once before but I saved it:

(1) VISION - ECONOMY on LIFE SUPPORT
- by Bryan Hupperts. (Nov 3, 1997)

I wanted to write and share a vision I had several years ago...

The Lord showed me a body laying on a bed in a hospital setting.
The patient was named The Economy. His chart was at the foot
of his bed and the lines on the graphs seemed to be marked by
sharp up and down turns.

He was breathing "falsely". He was surrounded by many specialists
who were doing many things to keep him alive. He was totally on
artificial life support. Just then, the Chief Physician came in,
looked at the patient, and declared, "This patient is dead. Let that
which is dead die." With his own finger, he threw the switch to cut
off the life support.

The Economy heaved, gasped, and died horribly.

End.

I believe that we are headed for a global meltdown of the world
economy. This will bring chaos and ruin but will strip people of
their false god of money and many souls will be brought to Christ.

If we are walking in obedience to the Lord, we have nothing to fear.
Ask the Lord for wisdom to get your economic house in order.
Seek first the kingdom of God, And his righteousness, and all
these things (materials needs) will be added unto you.

Jim G. said...

Quick funny story about my son (he's 2 and a half years old).

I've been praying with him before bed each night. About a month ago, I started to pray the Lord's Prayer. He really likes it.

Well, he was being pretty naughty the other evening (it was well prior to bedtime). I told him that he was going to have to be on time out. I took him in his room and told him he had to stay on his bed and not get up until Daddy came back. He could see I was very serious and I definitely meant business. I turned out the light and shut his door (planning to leave him in time out for about 2 or 3 minutes).

About a minute later, I was in the kitchen and heard him on the room monitor we have. I could tell he had gotten up from his bed and was playing (as opposed to sitting quietly on his bed as instructed).

I quickly went to his room and opened the door abruptly to catch him in the act. The light was on and he was messing around in the corner of his room near a little lamp and had a plastic toy microphone that he talks and sings into.

As I burst into his room and he saw me, he knew he was in trouble. Immediately, he put the microphone to his mouth and began reciting the Lord's Prayer,
"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name..."

(Jim C., I think he'd make a good Catholic.)

The absence of fear is peace.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You. Isaiah 26:3

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation. Ephesians 2:13,14

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6,7

LORD, You will establish peace for us. For you have also done all our works in us. Isaiah 26:12

And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Romans 16:20

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in Me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Phil 4:9

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our LORD Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Col. 3:15

I will lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11

And one of my very favorites:

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

These are the verses that come readily to my mind, but I am sure that you can think of many more.

I am absolutely convinced; whatever time we have left until we are raptured He will supply all of our needs just as He faithfully has in the past.

jim.carroll said...

Shalom, all! It's REALLY late and I REALLY need to get to bed, but I also REALLY need to comment on that "one world religion" article. There's just a lot of stuff about his interpretation of Malachy that doesn't make sense, and a lot of it is just plain wrong.

For example: he wrote: John Paul II was the 110th pope. He is referred to as “the Marian Pontiff.” His devotion to Mary is legendary. It is true that JP2 was devoted to Mary; however, that is not how he is called in the Prophecy of Malachy. He is called "De Labore Solis", or "Of the Labour of The Sun". The Latin phrase can also be an idiom referring to a solar eclipse. JP2 was born on a day with a partial eclipse, and he was buried on a day with a total eclipse. It could also be referring to the quality of his papacy: there is a growing consensus that his title in the history books will be "John Paul the Great." Regardless, Mr. Simmons made a factual error, one that simply looking it up on Wikipedia or in any number of Catholic sources would have corrected. How many other of his statements and conclusions are based on errors of fact that he could have very easily avoided?

Also, I don't get where St. Malachy's description of the 112th pope describes an "apostate pope." Is someone who will "feed the sheep amidst many tribulations" a sign of apostasy?

The RCC is not going to declare Malachy's prophecies as valid and true, because that would place it on the same level as the truths revealed in Scripture, and revelation to the whole Church ended with the death of the last apostle. The Catholics who study this prophecy don't see it as "the end of the Church." If the Church is ending, it is because time is ending. Also, what Mr. Simmons has not mentioned is that there is evidence that the description of the 112th Pope, Peter the Roman, was not in the original prophecy but was added later.

Mrs. Jim G... two words... Reader's Digest! Well, just a few more. You're son sounds adorable. Although the sites you posted didn't link up on Mac's blog, the comments that come to my email box were automatically hyperlinked, so I didn't have to cut and paste.

For all; we've been planting our own vegis for about a month. We have such poor ground here in FL and have found a solution. We are planting in cardboard boxes. Yep! regular cardboard boxes. You know those potatoes that sprout, don't throw them out. Cut them up, leaving a sprout in each piece and plant it. Each will produce a potato plant. If you're really good at planting potatoes and your neighbor gets on board and is really good at zucchini, coordinate some bartering.

Nate, glad to hear you're getting some much needed relief.

Hi Grany, I know you're lurking.

Good day to you all.

Lisa, I've remembered the economy/heart graph since you posted it before. Think about it as I watch the market do its thing each day.

Glad 'the rack' is helping, Nate.

Hi everyone,
We just turned the corner on our month of illness, too, so I'm feeling for you, HB!

As for gardening, I've been saving yogurt cups, etc. all fall/winter and am going to plant the heritage seeds I bought last fall in them. My initial thought was to just garden myself, but now (with nearly 500 seeds and over 250 yogurt cups) I'm thinking of sharing them with the neighbors and nearby friends who are interested in growing some of their own food. It might make for a great witnessing opportunity, too. I've been trying to think of a way to connect with those around us (we're in a very mixed-age/family stage neighborhood.)

Blessings,
Jen

Oops! Forgot to mention my plan for water...
I got a super-sized heavy duty plastic barrel (my dad used to work at a tannery and had some extras; you can also get them from places that buy stuff in bulk, like auto dealers who buy washer fluid in bulk.) We're planning to run the downspout into that for the garden needs. I'd like to start this spring and not wait til summer is in full-swing. My parents also pump their washing machine water into a barrel for gardening. Don't recall the soap being an issue, but haven't researched it myself. We used to have well water which would run dry a few times a year so we had to be creative when it came to water recycling! We sometimes would even use dish water (we didn't have a dishwasher) to flush the toilets....but I digress ;-)

From Chambers-

in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses —2 Corinthians 6:4

When you have no vision from God, no enthusiasm left in your life, and no one watching and encouraging you, it requires the grace of Almighty God to take the next step in your devotion to Him, in the reading and studying of His Word, in your family life, or in your duty to Him. It takes much more of the grace of God, and a much greater awareness of drawing upon Him, to take that next step, than it does to preach the gospel.

Every Christian must experience the essence of the incarnation by bringing the next step down into flesh-and-blood reality and by working it out with his hands. We lose interest and give up when we have no vision, no encouragement, and no improvement, but only experience our everyday life with its trivial tasks. The thing that really testifies for God and for the people of God in the long run is steady perseverance, even when the work cannot be seen by others. And the only way to live an undefeated life is to live looking to God. Ask God to keep the eyes of your spirit open to the risen Christ, and it will be impossible for drudgery to discourage you. Never allow yourself to think that some tasks are beneath your dignity or too insignificant for you to do, and remind yourself of the example of Christ in John 13:1-17 .

the scripture passage is the one where Christ is washing the disciples feet at the last passover meal as Judas goes out to betray him. the passage seems to indicate that Christ knowing that Judas was going to betray Him even washed Judas' feet.

Late Night Lisa said...

HB,

Did you mean Joel Rosenburg's latest post? Sobering indeed. I wonder how much more sober I can get.

In fact I'm so sober I bought that seed bank Jib posted. (Which is 100% unlike me-just like w/the bag of rice.) I figure even if I don't need it- someone might in the future. I also bought some seeds today to send out to a mission in Romania. The missions in the poorer countries typically want seeds anyway to plant for food.

Jim C. If things get really bad I bet people would trade seeds as cash to barter. What in the world is Monasto doing? Is it just to maintain a Monopoly on selling seeds? What a major form of control. Looking around there is very little "Heirloom" seeds as most are "Hybrid" and others don't state what they are on the package.
(You should save a container of some gas in case you need a chainsaw to open up your emergency pack.)

I started in on our yearly garden about 3 weeks ago. I've been hoeing my heart out w/a pick. After the soil is ready I spread a fabric type weed barrier, and cut holes in it for the plants & spread bark on top of it. Those darn weeds are my enemy #1. Enemy #2-bugs just ate up my baby spinach plants before they even had a chance.

Jen said...

Hey Jim,
What about a plot at a community garden? Our town has an empty lot designed for people in similar living environments who still want to garden. The borough ran a water line in, too. I think the fee to "rent" the plot covers the water cost.

Jen

Can you get a hold of Malachy's actual prophecy?

The office of Prophet is still open so Malachy just may have been given a true prophecy by God.

Considering all of the Dreams, Visions & Warnings the current Prophets & Watchmen have to give the Body of Christ @ this point in history it would not surprise me in the least. Remember God reveals to His servants what will come to pass before He acts.

**I was thinking about this today in fact. We have the Bible which tells us in thousands of years to come. Some prophets from times past were given insights hundreds of years ago. Then in our generation-some have the info revealed 5,10,20,50 years before it occurs.

Then we as the Body of Christ- have particular unction’s through the Holy Spirit about what is to come/what to do/ what is on God's heart, etc... What is difficult is how to handle the timing of the information.

The Lord is not slow to act but to our human perception we would consider it slow. So when we receive a new or reoccurring revelation-we have the tendency to become anxious as if it's going to happen within the course of a year or two. Seems like God typically prepares our hearts far in advance of what is to come-so we are not caught off guard.

Take the subject of famine & drought for example. Haven't we been talking about seeds/rice now for 2 years? I honestly don't think we are flipping out & becoming paranoid delusional types. (Heaven forbid.) But another gentle reminder has surfaced & those who are watching can see the storm clouds brewing off in the distance. It would be interesting to find out when prophecies began to occur in our day on the subject.

I keep thinking about a day's wages for a loaf of bread.

Back to Malachy-his prediction would have to be 100% correct & the article mentioned it was 90%-so I was wondering if that 10% consists of something that did not come to pass & therefore untrue or that it just didn't occur yet.

Malachy was a Catholic so the term of "Apostate Pope" I think was inserted by the author of the article & not by Malachy.

So if someone other than Malachy added on a Pope to make it 112 then the current Pope of 111 would actually be the last one according to Malachy.

Anyway, it's a prophecy that may be worth looking into further.

Nate,

It looks like the $6 million figure given in the article defines what the feds mean by "small business" rather than the dollar amount of the contract. The article says:

The Solicitation also states:

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 453998 with a small business size standard of $6M. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.

Interestingly, the site you provided a link to containing "the official government agency order" has a link to the contract award annoucement which is dated March 5, 2009.

Here's some of what you will find in the official award announcement.

Contract Award Dollar Amount:
19,951.00

We did get some good green and red peppers off and several of the best cucumbers I've ever seen. I hate cucumbers, but these were unbelievable. The water demand on the earthboxes is actually quite low as evaporation is minimal, but be forewarned, mosquitos can fly in the drain hole and get to the stagnant water. I guess you could glue mesh across the drain and fix that flaw.

Hi out there in the soon coming cyberthrong! Now, Lisa, forget thongs!

I am just now getting to access the web. The whole structure of the city fiber world got interrupted and then interrupted several times. I don't have a clue as to what is going on but we were told that they were going to update the whole system and I guess today was it.

I haven't even read the comments so far but I will catch up with you all in a few minutes. I just wanted to say that my anxiety level is going 130 miles a second over the things going on in the world and yet I have a praise report. Hubby finally got out of the market (excellent) and yes, there was a huge loss but we don't have to dread the next report on the market and that is a blessing. God did the convicting and convincing with hubby dearest. I promised I would not let my mouth utter the anxiety I was letting get into me and it was hard to do. I feel like weeping but I am afraid I couldn't get it stopped and the little men in white would be calling on me, for good reason. I know, "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind". I claimed it every day and yet panic was just itching to invade me "spaces".

I thank you all for your precious prayers and I could really feel them. I have no idea who or how many but to feel a sudden rush of God's peace start flooding my soul was the most wonderful gift and all because of prayers. I found a deeper love for hubby too in the process and now, I am trying to be a stablizing influence as we start picking up the pieces and starting all over again. Lots of road repairing to be done in this regard but God did call us to be repairers of the breach and so the work begins.

I truly believe that the shaking has just began and I know that whatever is coming will have to have the authority of Abba before it can happen. So, let's get our Seat belts fastened, our eyes on the Prize of the High calling, and our faith firmly anchored in God and His Word. Someone asked me if I thought Psalms 83 and Is. 17 would be the next drama packages and I was inclined to say yes but in my inner most being, I kept hearing Is. 17 and Ps. 83 go together and are not separate. I don't know how this could be but I will be doing some digging in my scriptures. If this is true, then Ez. 38 and 39 will closely follow because that is how the time line goes. But I have this great big desire to read again Zechariah and maybe that will put the puzzle pieces together.

Whatever comes about, as Marge likes to say, God is capable of tossing us a few curve balls along the way just to make things interesting. I wouldn't mind him putting a little spit on the throw so some of the spittle will land on those people who need it the most.

I love you all and even though we have never met, this is a family to be proud of.

Shalom from the top of your heads to the very bottom of your feet. That the air you breath will always bring life and health, and that the words of your mouth bring glory to God.

I know it is late (well it is here)and I want to answer a few comments before going to bed.

JIB: Where my cave is located there are artesian wells and also, natural springs that have never gone dry. Not only that but the temps stay the same inside the cave all year long and it can easily hold 1000 people. Big dude and winds in and out of some of the prettiest Oklahoma hills and valleys you could ever hope to see. Very close to a natural blue water lake that has clarity that is in competition with salt water resorts in the Caribbean.
JIM C. Don't give up trying to to open your "Seed Safe", maybe that is why they call it a bank. Just try to take something out!

LISA, watch using that word "Hoeing". Remember Imus the TV guy that made a crack about a girls basketball team? Have you tried dusting your plants with some ashes from wood? Bugs don't like ash and it can also serve as a soil conditioner.

JIM C. I have 40 + acres in Missouri you are welcome plant a pretty good sized garden on. That goes for anyone else that wants to try some real country living.

NATE: Ft. Chaffee is a former military base, activated in 1941 that is only 1 mile east of Ft. Smith, Arkansas municipal airport. In 1980 the Cuban refugees were taken to Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas and the issuing of riot gear was used there to quell the riots that were everyday occurrences. The base was again used to house the Katrina victims but more importantly, it is also one of the locations of the camps we were all discussing on the previous posts here.

If you are going to use your cardboard boxes for gardens, use the natural insecticide of lemon rinds. Citronella is made from the peels of lemons and oranges but the little buggers hate lemon.

MAC I would love to have seen that stomp dance for sure.

I think it was JIM C. that made the remark about the Quakers. Jim my grandfather's family were all Quakers and migrated to Iowa from a region north and a little east of Iowa during the 1800's. When the Quakers started worshiping God, the whole place started shaking.

NATE: Bless your heart and I mean that truly. A little Holy Spirit dancing might just be the ticket for healing.

I also want to thank you for your precious blessing you gave me. I receive it in the same Spirit as you gave it. And, SHALOM back to you. "Shalom, nothing broken, nothing missing, every thing complete and perfect as God gives it."

I would appreciate you all keeping my dear husband in your prayers. All of this has been very hard on him and today he said he was fearful he was going to have a stroke because of all the stress and duress. I get so angry at the enemy of our souls for afflicting God's families and this is just one more proof that the battle isn't over yet. So, I covet your prayers for him. Also, that I learn to roll with the punches. I can handle the attacks on myself but I really lose it when the attacks are directed at my loved ones.

I am signing off for the night and will catch up tomorrow.

Much love and it is a great thing to do this blogging on any night. Beats TV, news and all the other little getzahs.

Hi Guys,

Still lurking! I am now pasting an e-mail that I got today after having to pop into my office over the weekend, don't often do that!
It goes with what Jery Gold sent out. Go with God!

Please pray for my daughter Jenna as she has to have a brain MRI scan and CT scan on Monday, due to headaches!

I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.
IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE—EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written,

“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (v. 3).

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart” (Jeremiah 18:11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. Lay in store a thirty-day supply of food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says, “He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven—his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (v. 4). “In the Lord I take refuge” (v. 1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run…no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose.

God bless and keep you.
In Christ,
DAVID WILKERSON

JIB, thank you for the word of encouragement for dh. Everytime dh starts a conversation, he gets so shook that he begins to tremble (literally) and my heart just aches for him. He has always had a "good life" and there was always a secure financial basis to depend on. Now he doesn't have a foundation and he knows it.

Something absolutely wonderful happened to us late February that has profoundly changed dh's ability to put trust in God and prayers. He was watching Joel Osteen on TV late one night (Sunday night here)and Joel was preaching about God answering even the simple prayer of a child. Joel spoke for a solid 27 minutes, nonstop, and dh took it all in. Joel had used the example of a little girl asking God to send her a kitten out of the sky. The little girl went out into the backyard to play and while she was there, a kitten came flying out of the air and landed right next to her. He went on to explain the whole thing but the story really got dh's attention and he made the remark that if God was really listening to everyone, then dh was expecting God to do the same thing for him. I told him I agree and then went to bed.

The next day, a special delivery arrived that contained a much prayed for solution to a very real and desperate problem and need. It came from someone dh knew nothing about but I am acquainted with the sender. In fact, a blogger friend. In the package was a note from the blogger telling both of us that he had been lead by the Holy Spirit to send this and that he wanted it to remain anonymous. His reward is in heaven but it will be far greater than any of us can ever think about. DH still cannot get over it and weeps everytime he starts to talk about it.

I praise God for the fact that we are all God's children and that we know no matter what is in the near future we have a far greater Home ready for us to ascend to. My heart leaps for joy that God loves each of us so very much that he hears the heart cries when we are to the place that our lips won't form the words. He Cares and his Word is the healing balm of Gilead.

I take David Wilkerson's warning very serious. Back in late 1990's David wrote a book "America's Last Call" where he warns that God had given him the message of the stock market falling so far down that it would ruin the nation. People laughed at the warning and very few paid it any attention at all. In just a few months, the the .com bubble spewed woe to all of the big fish in that world. But that was just the tip of the iceberg.

I read the news letter and it was and is not a surprise. We have all remarked about the unsettled feeling we were experiencing. Not fear but certainly not calm either. Time will tell and there is still our prayer closets.

As to the directions to the cave, let me check out the matter with the locals here. DH reminded me that it is no longer ours but with the size of this thing, I don't see any problem with using it. I will get right on the matter and let you all know by way of email.

I found the passage that I have been searching for and I want to post it here for all of us.

Psalms 37:25
I was young now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread."

Psalms 37:25 - an explanation for a difficult verse. One of the hardest verses to understand in Tanach is found in this verse.

How is one to read this verse without images in their mind that contradict the simple meaning of the verse?

In To Heal a Fractured World, Jonathan Sacks provides an explanation that he believes originated with Rav Joseph Soloveitchik.

The Hebrew word for the verb SEEN is Raiti. According to this explanation, the verb SEEN [Raiti] should be read in the same manner that it is found in Megillat Esther. There, (Esther 8:6) we find Esther pleading with Achashveirosh, and she says

"How can I bear to SEE [Raiti] disaster fall upon my people?"

"To see" here means to stand still and watch. Thus the verse from Psalms should be read as

"I was young now I am old, yet I have never stood still and watched while the righteous were forsaken or their children begging for bread"

Explanation taken from Parsha Thoughts.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend and keep watching and listening.

I want to confirm your "hearing in your inner most being" feeling on Psalm 83 and Is. 17. As I was reading the post on Joel Rosenberg's blog about Iran I felt a confirmation that the two of them go together. I ignored the prompting until you just mentioned this in the post I quoted above. Its as if I heard a voice say that the two events will be concurrent!! I didn't know what to make of it until I read you post and your words jumped out at me!! I also felt that these thing will happen shortly (and will cause the setup of other events to come)and it will be a large jump forward in the end times timeline. We will have to see how it will turn out??

Lisa, Shalom! The actual Prophecy of St. Malachy is actually just a list, with no commentary other than the short names he gives the popes. You can find the list at Catholic-Pages.com. There is a book by Peter Bander called "The Prophecies of St. Malachy" that was written in 1973. I just found out that he has updated it and reissued it as "The Prophecies of St. Malachy & St Columbkille", which is available from Amazon. I may buy that: St. Columbkille was a contemporary of St. Patrick and was known for his holiness.

One of the reviews for this book pointed out something that many people (myself included) ignore: St. Malachy does not list a "112th Pope." His list only goes to 111. After that it lists "Peter the Roman", but doesn't assign him a number. This is one reason the official Church position is that there may be any number of popes between #111 and this "Peter the Roman". The reviewer points out that "Peter the Roman" might not be a pope but an administrator. This is how that might come about:

Since Paul VI, there have been attempts to tighten security during each conclave, particularly as technology advances. Given the amount of interference that has been attempted by kings to influence the papal elections, this is not an idle concern. One of the last changes John Paul II made to the Vatican Constitution before he died was to specify that the election is to be held in a specific hall of the Vatican. There are no alternative sites listed: for a papal election to be valid, it must be held in that hall and no where else. There are also rules about who can participate in an election: cardinals only, and only those below the age of retirement (80 years old, I believe).

Now, conclaves are not the only times where the leadership of the Church gathers together. There are meetings called "consistories" where the cardinals assemble and advise the Pope on different issues. (There are also synods, where the bishops of the world get together, but those are comparatively rare, given the expense involved.) If there were a terrorist attack during a consistory or during a papal election, resulting in the deaths of all eligible cardinals, the Church would be without any leadership. In that case, until the bishops can assemble in a synod and recreate the hierarchy, administration of the Church would be left to the most senior member of the Curia. This would explain why he is not given a number and is referred to as "Peter the Roman" and not "Peter II". There has been only one Peter leading the Church, and it would be ... "highly unusual" ... for someone to adopt that name. Therefore, "Peter the Roman" must refer to an administrator named Peter, who would "feed the sheep" during the tribulation, when it would be impossible for the bishops to assemble.

As for the prophecies being only 90% accurate, I think that depends on your definition of "accurate"! :-) Some of the titles are pretty arcane, referring to a birthplace or some personal trait. I think the author of that piece just copied and pasted information from several sources, not bothering to check for accuracy of his sources -- not a good sign.

Hope this helps.

Hi everyone. I wanted to share a sweet testimony of something that happened at the bridal store that I work at. The other day a lady came in with her 6 children. She was very pregnant. She was looking for a Jr. Bridesmaid dress for one of her girls for her son's wedding. She already had the other girls dresses. I showed her our collection of those types of dresses. She needed one in lilac. The most modest dress did not come in the color she needed. She was very dissapointed as the other dresses did not have enough coverage for her girl. She walked around the corner and happened to see on the end of the isle a dress in the exact same color she needed I noticed that it was a clearance dress and had been misplaced, it was not supposed to be hanging where it was. The size was also one size too small from what she needed but she decided to have her daughter try it on anyway. When I went to check on them after she had tried it on the woman was very pleased and said "praise the Lord, it is exactly what we need!"the size was rght and the color was exactly what they needed to match the other dresses, plus it was at a price they needed. Her daughters were beaming at the "coincidence" of finding just the right dress in the wrong place. Of course, they all were thanking the Lord for taking care of this for them. Plus, it hardly took any time out of that busy woman's day (she was a mom of 8 and counting). It was so sweet to see them all of them so happy and such a nice way of the Lord showing me that He hears me and even cares about such things as dresses for a wedding!

JIM G. Thank you for your update on the Psalm 83 and Is. 17 topic. I know there will be many more witnesses because the Holy Spirit doesn't lie and I heard him say it just as clearly as I hear DH tell me he is hungry. I will have to attempt connecting to Joel's blog (I don't really remember how to get there but I will Google it. Last time I heard, Joel is now using Word Press and I will see what I can do.

I am having a great deal of problems with the new Firefox update. I cannot access World Net Daily, banking accounts and other sites that I normally zip right into. I even tried getting onto my banking site with IE and it was a no go. Then WND.com wouldn't come up either. But I wanted to see what the attack was that JIB linked to (it won't work either) and I Googled the topic on search.

I saw the photo of the little yellow terror equipment but it is not a bulldozer. A bull dozer is a lot bigger, has track and not tires and nothing on the back side. That machine is a back hoe and it is not made by Caterpillar either. That one looks like a foreign made piece of equipment.

Diana that is a precious story and I know it made your day. Thanks for sharing.

I know there are other things I wanted to share but a friend just dropped by.

Love and blessings,

How exciting that your husband is softening up more, Grany! I am sorry he has been going through a scarey time.

Grany and GT, shalom! To me, the question is are Psalms 83 and Is. 17 linked by TIME or by CONSEQUENCE? By time, then that means the War of Psalms 83 won't happen until this fall. Is. 17 makes reference to "As when an olive tree has been beaten,..." I remember when I first started getting into End Times stuff two years ago, Ray Gano wrote, based on his experience growing olives in Texas, that this referred to the fall harvest, when you beat the tree with a stick to make the olives at the very top fall to the ground. (Unless I'm mis-remembering the article...)

I'm inclined to believe the message from David Wilkerson, for the simple reason that this is the fourth such message I've read or recv'd in the last four days. Two of them are from Catholic sources, and I will forward them on to anyone who requests it -- they're too long to post here. The theme is the same: Prepare!

Nate: praise God that you get to spend more time with your family and that your eyes are wide open! It is wonderful to read your testimonies here.

Grany: I sure would love to meet you and your DH. My DH told me last night that he did not want me to tell him anything else about the economy or "the end of the world stuff". I haven't even spoken with him about biblical things and what is going on now for quite some time. I think he is terribly afraid and he also knows in his spirit that something is going on and he just can't deal with it. He knows that there will be great persecution and he is very frightened for our 4 children. He won't admit that this is what the problem is but I think that is what the Lord is telling me. I have been praying for him quite a bit more lately and it seems the more I pray that the Lord would soften his heart and change him radically so that he will follow only Jesus, the more tension there is with him and he gets more annoyed and angered easily. Just proof to me that the enemy is trying hard to divert my prayers.

I am going to work today but in the future I will not work until 1:00 everyother Sunday so that I can spend time with family and maybe go to church. You might remember that I asked the Lord to direct someone to invite us to church. We have not had an afermative on that one yet. I look at the web sites of all the different churches we could choose from around here and my mind spins. So, I am continuing to pray about that one. I really want my two little boys to be involved in some kind of group with other kids their ages because I am pulling them out of the daycare they go to to save money (I will switch my work hours to evenings instead of days). Also, my two teen girls are desperate for some Chrisitan friends, especially my younger one who has always had a huge heart for the Lord. Anyway, please pray about this with me. Thanks!!

I really enjoy reading all of the posts here and look forward to meeting you all someday!

Donna, I'm going by memory, hopefully it will be fairly accurate, but David Wilkerson had a vision in which there were many, many fires around NYC. Shalom, all! With all the worrisome posts in the last day, I thought I'd share this with you. I was asked to be a lector at the last minute, doing the second reading. I didn't have time to go over the reading in advance, so I was doing this cold. So imagine my astonishment when I walked up to the lectern and started reading from Romans 8:31-39:

What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him? Who will bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who acquits us. Who will condemn? It is Christ (Jesus) who died, rather, was raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us. What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?

No!

In all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Answering your question about David Wilkerson: Yes, in fact there is every reason in the world to take what David has said, seriously. I Am!

David has only missed one time and that was very early on in his ministry. I don't remember the details but it was of a very minor subject. Back in the 60's.

Hope that helps.

Lisa, Shalom! I've been doing some more research on the legal requirements for the election of a Pope. In the most recent Apostolic Constitution, there were a few rules of interest. One rule is that no changes in the legal rules, especially those regarding the election of a pope, can be made by the cardinals when the Apostolic Seat is vacant. Meaning that if a new situation comes up, the cardinals can't change anything.

This is important, and you need to keep that in mind. One rule specifies that the election must be held in the Sistine Chapel, or another location if necessary, but that location MUST be in Vatican City. Another set of rules specify that the conclave must begin no later than 20 days after the death of the previous pope. After the pope dies, these rules cannot be changed for any reason.

Suppose that Italy (or just Rome) has been taken over by Muslims, or by an anti-Christian secularist power (what the old Catholic writers would call Masonic elements). After the pope dies, then there are ... problems ... with the travel documents of all the cardinals and their assistants, Even though the Vatican State is a separate country, these cardinals cannot be issued transit papers until these problems are resolved. If it takes more than 20 days after the death of the Pope for these issues to be resolved, then the conclave cannot begin until after the 20th day, meaning that a valid conclave cannot be held.

This is a prime situation for a schism. If some of the cardinals were to agree to meet in some other location, such as Avignon, and hold a conclave there, theirs would not be a valid election. They would have elected a false pope. The rest of the Church would have to be without a pope, having just an administrator, until the bishops could agree on a plan or procedure to reconstitute the hierarchy of the Church.

Some of you wonderful brothers and sisters might find this information useful.
HARVEST SEASONS OF ANCIENT ISRAEL

As far as the Psalm 83 and Is. 17 time/consequences; I don't have that information at this moment but I am more inclined to consequences. But Jim when God is orchestrating all of this I am inclined to believe the time of Jacobs Trouble has begun! I was always of the opinion (strongly) that Jacob's Trouble would be the final 3 1/2 years of the tribulation or Days of Wrath. Not so sure anymore.

There is a need here to remind everyone that we are not to become fearful but this is an excellent time to freely share Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. As the days become darker and more evil, people start getting very serious about what is going to happen to them. If any of you remember the riots of the 60's then you know that there was also a very big revival that took place in the USA. We all heard about the Woodstock affairs and all of the Flower Children springing up Wild Flowers but the time for evangelizing was richly rewarding. I was a product of the revival of the 60's and it was one of the greatest events of my life.

We are in the final Act of the Church Age and I agree it will close, the curtain will come down when the last person is added into the Kingdom of God by way of the Cross and Blood of Jesus. No one can get past the sacrifice or the one Sacrificed.

I was feeling quite insecure during the beginning of the Sept. 29, 2008 stock market destruction. There were so many things I just did not want to give up. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me that Heaven is not made up of any of those things and eventually mold, rust, and a Land Fill would be the final resting place of those cherished items. So, now I say, here is to Life and that even more glorious than anything we could ever think or hope for.

Jim C. I would love to receive those additional comments you have spoken of.

I have been off line most of the time for the last few days. After Google's Firefox was updated and a new version was distributed, my computer has had a case of Filibustering my best efforts to get online.I didn't know whether my computer was harboring a nasty virus, trojan or worm so I decided to be absent until I knew for sure. The whole thing is related to the new update and Google is catching it like crazy. I did a restore to a point before the update and things are pretty well taken care of now.

JIM C. You asked if David had ever posted such a warning before. He sent out a letter to the people on his mailing list but he did not put it on the web. If it appeared on the web it was because it was copied and pasted there by the recipients of the letter.

I do remember receiving a very urgent letter from him about 3 months before 9/11/01 and even though he didn't know what was causing his anguish, his Spirit Man was in turmoil. They had a pastor's conference planned for the Times Square Church in NYC that would have been in session at the very same time of the attacks on the World Trade Centers but he felt lead by the Holy Spirit to cancel the meetings until a later day. He did this and all of the planning that had gone into accommodations and food was used during the after mess of 9/11. David's heart is truly tuned to God/Holy Spirit/Jesus Christ.

How much I trust him? I have all of David's personal letters to his subscribers and friends; plus all of his Pulpit series sermons that he sends out every 2 or 3 weeks. That is a lot of documents and no one else has that amount of space in my files. He is precious and has always been a very straight Arrow and an Eagle that never gives up.

It is exciting to see the church filling up every Sunday for our series on Revelation. Today was Chapter 6 and the economic portion along with Joel's blog the other day makes me feel like the thread of our economy is getting more bare by the day.

I've always been intrigued by David's vision or pretty much scared by it. I take it with much seriousness as a possibility. I think he lives out here in Texas now although the bulk of his ministry takes him to NYC.

Scott Robinson's Jenny, We are in the far eastern part of Oklahoma about 150 miles due west. Just follow Interstate 40 from the eastern Arkansas state line to Ok City and we are in the first 25 minutes of your journey. All of the storms out of OK CY come to our region, picking up steam as they move east ward. But the power of the Blood of Jesus keeps them from taking anything from us.

Jenny if you are going to camp in Arkansas make sure you are not on low ground during this time of the year. We are inclined to have unannounced down pours that can get a little too much for all of us. There are some great caves in the state of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. All three of those states are very pretty. The Forest/Game Conservationist have relocated a bunch of black bears in the three states and there are mountain lions and bob cats that have begun habitating in this area also. In fact, a lot of the wild cats have begun to relocate here because of development of their native area. Oklahoma used to home to all of the big cats that are native to the USA and there have been sightings of panthers also. But they tend to avoid all humans, unlike the mountain lions and bears.

You all know that if the report about an earthquake in OKCY is accurate, that means the tremors are moving east to west and that is strange. Hubby said there are more faults in this region than most people know about.

I have to tell you something that you can decide whether it is funny or sad. We always go to Sam's Club in Ft. Smith, Arkansas for our bimonthly shopping and when you purchase food items they come in cases generally. I forgot what it was I needed in the canned goods category and so, to be safe, I got a case of each one. Corn, green beans, tomatoes, etc. Then we went to the coffee section and got our 2 1/2 pound bag of coffee beans. Picked up our meat supply of ribs, chuck roast, chicken, and some Tilapia. Got home and started putting it all away. Now DH doesn't believe any of this about terrible things heading our way and feels that buying extra is foolish.

Now for the good part, I have 3 of everything now because I forgot what I was supposed to get. Tuna by the dozens, pink salmon by the dozen, instant potatoes (Idahoan)and 36 cans of all the canned veggies and fruit. Dried fruit that I had forgotten I had hidden away and enough powdered milk to feed a hundred babies if needed. I knew my storage space was shrinking but I never knew it was that bad. I thought we still owned the cave and I had planned on storing a lot of it up there but DH had to sell it first and the Cherokee people wanted it back because it was at one time their place to hold Stomp Dances.

WE will all survive and we will do so to give the glory to God. Nothing can separate us from the love of God and remember Psalm 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice:let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them:let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield."

I see more military activity this spring (they're still launching rockets from Gaza, and occasionally from Lebanon), with a pause over summer, and a resumption of hostilities in September (at the beginning of the olive harvest). I think Obama is going to say or do something that will make it clear that Israel will get no more support from the US (maybe couched in "fiscal responsibility" language), and Israel will just say, Fine!

I also agree that China, as the holder of America's debt, has a lot of clout, and it probably wouldn't take much for Obama to give permission to create an enclave. He wants to be the Nice president that the whole world loves.

1.) How do we know when a Psalm is prophetic (Psalm 83, in particular). It's easy to see that some where prophetic in nature after the fact such as Psalm 22 which depicted Jesus the Messiah's suffering. I'm wondering about prophetic Psalms that are yet unfullfilled. How do we know a Psalm is a prophecy?

2.) Why is Is. 17 so significant? There are a bunch of prophecies pertaining to a bunch of countries in Is. I don't mean to imply that Israel is not the most important. I wholeheartedly believe that Jerusalem is the Epicenter as Joel Rosenberg has articulated so well.

For example:
The following are chapter headings and section headings from the New King James Version.

Isaiah 17
Proclamation Against Syria and Israel

Isaiah 18
Proclamation Against Ethiopia

Isaiah 19
Proclamation Against Egypt
Egypt, Assyria, and Israel Blessed

Isaiah 20
The Sign Against Egypt and Ethiopia

Isaiah 21
The Fall of Babylon Proclaimed
Proclamation Against Edom
Proclamation Against Arabia

Isaiah 22
Proclamation Against Jerusalem
The Judgment on Shebna

for starters in the Jewish mindset the Psalms are not God's word as we think of God's word. According to Frucht (and he used to be Orthodox) Torah or the Law has the highest place and most importance because Moses saw God or talked to God directly and received the law. Next comes the Prophets who didn't receive God's word by direct face to face but still their words are God's words exactly and they are more like transcriptionists than anything else. Next comes the writings and from what I gather from Frucht is they have very little importance in the scheme of things especially as regards doctrine and prophecy since they are men's interpretations of what God said not God's words directly. He (Frucht) says this is why Paul said "ALL scripture is profitable for doctrine and teaching" because in Judaism that is not a true statement. Frucht also says if you are serious about witnessing to Jews one starts with the prophecies about Messiah in Torah, then goes to the Prophets and last and in their minds least one goes to the writings. which likely doesn't answer your actual question but possibly might give you some interesting insight.

Regarding your question about Is 17-it's not that it is against Syria it is that Damascus is obliterated from the face of the planet. important because as it is the oldest continuously inhabited city on the entire earth. plus the other short answer is that it appears to most scholars of the futurist persuasion (as opposed to Preterist) that it takes place before the Tribulation. Some of the other prophecies appear to be related to the Millennial Kingdom, some to the Tribulation, some to that time period. I suspect that Footsteps of the Messiah goes into that more fully as does Frucht's book Israelology (but it's slow going AND it's 2200+ long!)

I listened to the sermon from Time's Square Church (Wilkerson's)yesterday by Carter Conlon Seeing Christ at the Hour of His Return . It's very good, he talks a bit about not living in fear during these days and about reaching out to those who may be afraid, especially those who don't know the Lord.

Jim G., Shalom! We know when a Psalm is prophetic (or rather, has an unfulfilled prophecy) when it describes actions or events that have not yet happened, literally, symbolically, or allegorically. In Psalm 83, we know that has not yet happened because it describes a coalition of nations arrayed against Israel that has not yet happened. Vs. 7-9 list them:

The tents of Ishmael and Edom, the people of Moab and Hagar, Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia and the inhabitants of Tyre. Assyria, too, in league with them gives aid to the descendants of Lot.

According to the notes in my bible (NAB) , "Apart from the Assyrians, all the nations listed here were neighbors of Israel. The people of . . . Hagar: a tribe of the desert regions east of Ammon and Moab (1 Chron 5:10, 19-22). Gebal is the Phoenician city of Byblos or perhaps a mountain region south of the Dead Sea. The descendants of Lot are Moab and Edom (Genesis 19:36-38 and Deut 2:9). These nations were never united against Israel in the same period; the psalm has lumped them all together." Note that Assyria is not present-day Syria; it was the region north of Syria, and included present-day Tehran.

So the psalm describes an alliance of all the nations around Israel (Philistia, BTW, if you didn't know, is the present-day Gaza Strip) attacking her, with aid to the attackers being given by Iran. This hasn't happened yet, so it must happen in the future.

Likewise, Is. 17 describes the destruction of Damascus. Some scholars think this was fulfilled in 732 B.C. Others say that was only a partial fulfillment, since this chapter describes the oldest continuously-occupied city in the world being destroyed overnight; so much so that it is never occupied by people again. Only flocks of sheep will be there. What's more, this complete and total destruction is the end result of Damascus' continuous attempts to attack and despoil Israel: it is a warning to all other nations what will happen to them if they touch the apple of G_D's eye. That's why I believe this will take place before the War of Gog and Magog, rather than at the same time: G_D will not give a warning but give no time for people to accept that warning and change.

well this may get lost in the shuffle and don't know if any of you are in the market for something like this but it is pretty cool all the same. the front end is a generator so all the "appliances" that can come with it are electric.

hope you aren't claustrophobic. if you find yourself getting antsy close your eyes it seems to help! I discovered I was claustrophobic the first time they put me in an MRI

I had a closed MRI in October. It was one of the noisiest experiences I've ever had.

But one thing that helped me was I tried to think of a song with the same beat of the banging.

The difficult part was not singing outloud!

Anne,

I forgot about his son's blog-Thanks!

Here is something he wrote under March 1, 2009.

"If ever there was a time to draw closer to Christ, and cling to the truth of the Word dear friends, at least in our generation, I cannot think of it. Everything that we place our trust in, that is not Christ, will fail us and leave us in a state of desperation beyond our grimmest forecasts or imaginings."

"I was in a prayer meeting this past Wednesday here in Wisconsin, and as I was praying I saw the words 'a nation in mourning' written in fire. Last night I saw the same words, in the same manner in a dream. As yet I do not know what, or when, but I felt I needed to share it. We are living truly perilous times, and as such must be more certain of our foundation now than ever before."

With love in Christ,

Michael Boldea Jr.

Hi Everyone,
I'm not dead!

I've been agonizing (probably too strong of a word) about how to prepare for the coming crisis. Should I stockpile food and ammo? Should I buy gold, etc, etc?

Then I started feeling a peace that I really didn't have to worry about it, but just trust God to lead me.

I was lead here today and it was perfect that I saw Nate's post from Wilkerson. (Plus I wanted to see if you guys had anything to say on the subject.)

Be still and know that He is God! That's the answer I got. I feel lead to stock up on some food, I'm buying some ammo, but other than that......I'm pretty peaceful.

I think all of us have been equipped over the past few years to be leaders when this world disintegrates further (that is until the rapture). I'm happy that I'll be able to be relatively calm during the storm, if and when it comes. We'll all be needed for answers, and I think we'll have at least some of them.

I always appreciate reading the posts here, even if I'm now an infrequent poster myself.

Always lurking,
Dave
