To praise God fully we must suppose ourselves to be in perfect love with God, drowned in, dissolved by that delight which, far from remaining pent up within ourselves as incommunicable bliss, flows out from us incessantly again in effortless and perfect expression. Our joy is no more separable from the praise in which it liberates and utters itself than the brightness a mirror receives is separable from the brightness it sheds.

Oh, I like that C.S. Lewis quote Alesia. In fact, I love it! Can you imagine being in God's presence and being able to adore, worship and praise all at the same time with complete abandonment? Oh, it will be wonderful there! Won't it?
I love that hope and after reading the link that GT posted on the previous subject, we are getting all of the signals to unload, rewind and look up! Our redemption is drawing nigh!
Maranatha!

I really haven't come to an "If/Then" assumption on pagan sites being reclaimed by Christians. Frankly, I don't know enough about it & would really have do an in depth study or at least know of a credible person who has done one.
Which at this point I do not.
There are people who are claiming that the Cult of Cybele is in ruins under the Vatican site. I thought you might know about this or perhaps some other things in regards to the history of this site before the existence of the Vatican. I'm sure it's no surprise to you that I dig a little deeper than most in these areas-which I know has the potential to drive you nuts. (:
I have been however gaining knowledge in "discerning spirits" & do believe that certain demonic entities have had particular "territories" throughout the ages. When one does look back into these ancient pagan religions you can actually trace how a particular spiritual entity will repackage & rename it's self depending upon it's audience & time in History.
If the Cult of Cybele is indeed buried somewhere under the Vatican I would just simply find that to be interesting. Would that mean the Cybele spirit is behind the metamorphosis of the fascination w/Mary & the various Marian apparitions? I don't know.
But I will tell you I have looked into what these apparitions (both approved & non-approved)have communicated and they are leading Christians-away from Jesus & to the apparition it's self.
ie) In America the spirit behind Baal I think has been repackaged into the "personal convenience" attitude of people willing to undergo abortions. (They are sacrificing their own babies whether they know it or not.)
Some Missionaries are particularly sensitive to regional spirits & spiritual warfare & can sense their distinct presence depending upon which country they are sent to. (The ones in Africa are really aggressive I hear.)
Todd Bentley is a prime example of the infiltration of what I call the "New Age" spirit but have not traced it back to it's roots.
The "New Age" spirit is closely connected to the UFO phenomena & I think looking into pagan religions in Asia (mystics/meditation)would lead to it's beginnings. Just not sure on that one yet.
People who perform exorcisms
can differentiate certain spirit entities because they cast them out & become familiar w/them over time.(I've read these types are lower level in the hierarchy.)
Most Christians probably do not even find this topic fascinating-but I do & have been studying up on it a little. We are in the presense by myriads of spirits but know very little about it.
Thankfully we are indwelled w/the Holy Spirit which is what really counts.
I believe as the days grow darker the evil spirits will be allowed greater access into our dimension-especially when Jesus casts the dragon out of heaven permanently as shown in Revelation 12:12,13.
Hey Lisa, I agree. Armor up, our spiritual armor is going to get used really soon if we're all right on here. Speaking of which, my youngest is now 8, and unbeknownst to me she's been learning bible passages in her gym class at her school. Her teacher lets them practice the verses during the drills in PE. Anyway, she's popped off some long ones lately I barely remember or never learned to begin with. I admit I'm a little envious of the speed her brain can learn new things.
BTW, a few threads back I noted the possibly increased scrutiny us fundamentalists may soon be under on the internet. I didn't mean to scare anybody, just wanted everybody's eyes wide open before they jumped in the lake. I've used my real name from the beginning, so I expect I'll be first in line, whatever comes.
In His Grip,
Scott
Grany;
I'm with you on that!!!
concerning Maurice Sklar;
I don't know anything about him, haven't heard of him before I found that vision I posted. I got the impression that it was taken from a newsletter he sends out??
By reading his story on the website, he was associated with Benny Hinn and knows about Todd Bentley. He wrote in one of the teaching on his site that at the time when Bentley was in Fla that he thought Bentley was genuine. I didn't see where he has since written anything more about Bentley.
I am looking into it at his blogspot: http://mauricesklar.blogspot.com/
I thought that someone here would know of him and tell us more?
He does have a lot of visions and other stuff posted on his site, Also a good letter on "My journey of Faith and suffering" posted there. The blogspot has other things he has received from the Lord concerning the economic problems and the election and other world events ect. I am going to be very careful with the whole thing right now!
If anyone knows more I would appreciate the info.
Maranatha!
Jib,
I'm good :) Thanks for asking.
I loved your link on Big Brother and Supermarkets. "Oy Vah's, me!" (indeed) Yikes, even :) You can't tell me all this Club Card business isn't collecting information for something, and not just for store discounts, either. But then again,...I've always loved a good conspiracy theory! (smile) Who doesn't?
God bless,
Love,
Marge
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Lisa,
You said," I believe as the days grow darker the evil spirits will be allowed greater access into our dimension-especially when Jesus casts the dragon out of heaven permanently as shown in Revelation 12:12,13."
I was just telling my DH last week it seems as if an evil has been unleashed on this land since we have seen so many mass murders and even parents murdering their children. It was a new one every day a week or so ago. People are blaming the bad economic conditions but I am blaming something else. Oh, how horrible it would be to be all alone without the Lord. I am so thankful to be in the shelter of His wing.
If I am marked by my government as being an extremist for my faith in Jesus then praise God! I will have been counted worthy to suffer for His name. Whatever happens to me and my family is only because He allows it and it will all be for His glory! I know that He will prepare us for it ahead of time. Amen?
I am so blessed to be able to read these posts here and participate in these conversations. It is so wonderful to know that we will all meet someday and we will know each other! :)
Diana
Diana,
Amen! Yes, God will always prepare us for anything/everything.
He will never leave or forsake us.
Mac,
I'm with you! Coffee is better than tea :)
Coffee over tea? Nope! Coffee gives me heart burn and tea takes it away. But that's alright if you prefer coffee. LOL~@;o} Bad hair day!
I am going to keep this short but I have to tell you that I did some pretty good checking on Maurice and like Marge tells us, keep your antennae up and your connection with the Holy Spirit alive. He has made some major errors in the past and I think we need to keep him in our prayers. I listened to his music all day yesterday as I was in the process of getting rid of "no one's treasures" so my kids won't have to do it later.
Sinus problems still nagging me and I turned on the air purifier full blast in all the rooms. Sucking up them buggers, you know.
Be good young un's and stay out of trouble Jim and Lisa.

Shalom, all! I'm reposting something just posted on the End Times Speculation thread over at Catholic Answers Forum. It will have things that some of you won't agree with, but rather than edit that out I'm posting it in its entirety so you can take what you discern is good from it. I AM posting notes in the article since he makes reference to things that were posted earlier. The author's name is Spauline, and it's titled, Obama or Secular Liberalism is the ROCK? Rubbish!!!!based on this article,
Obama vs. Jesus..... and Obama won,
Georgetown covered up the Sacred Letters of Christ's Name, IHS, for Obama's "speech". (N.B. The Sacred Letters were covered up behind the podium where they would be visible on camera; they were not covered up in the 24 other locations in the hall where they appeared.) IOW, at a CATHOLIC Univ, it was Obama vs Jesus, and OBAMA won.
But, not that is not enough.
Obama did not mention "Jesus", but cited, we need to build our house on the rock, not the sand.
OK, well, it is not clear what Obama considers the rock or sand.
But for the sake of what the RCC I think would TEND to say about this, let me extrapolate.
OK, Mr. Obama,
for your information, you have no clue what that verse you quoted means.
But so as to enlighten you, here you go, you blind person who hopefully don't fully understand what you are doing!
Let's work backwards.
Revelation 13, a sinister chapter in the apocalypse, expands on the symbolism of earth, shore, and sea.
The dragon takes his position on the sand [end of Chapter 12], which is to say, he hides behind stuff that mixes truth with error. Obama is supreme example of this lie. Admittedly, Obama is a better choice for issues of health care and compassion on the poor. But his other policies? Anti-conscience clauses, utterly pro-abortion, pro-same-sex marriage? Very bad. Some goodness but a lot of error. That is the sand.
Secular Messianism and relativistic materialism is the sea [the beast from the sea, the expression of the objective reality of this utterly apostate culture].
But the modern world considers it to be a "foundation" for prosperity and peace [the beast that comes out of the earth, and seats itself on the earth, the false prophet, which is to say, the dragon seduces humanity to think that what is in fact, objectively, a prescription for the very collapse of human civilization, or utter darkness, is in fact the very FOUNDATION for peace and prosperity, or utter light]
Liberal Protestantism is very weak sand. Ultra-conservative Protestantism is perhaps a little stronger, but in the end, it can't hold cuz those oversimplified Pharisees have little compassion. They hit you over the head with the letter of the Law, but many times they don't lift a finger to help you. That is, unless "accept Jesus" on their terms.
If we built our society on Eastern Orthodoxy, it would be like building a house on the regular earth, a normal house.
But if you want the absolutely solid rock, that alone can protect you from the harshest weather, you need Peter, aka, the Pope, known as Benedict the XVI.
And is it any coincidence that a recent modern publication, that has the very spirit of this apostate world of the false prophet, has branded this man who alone is the ultimate foundation on earth to be the second biggest loser? (N.B. This was in an article in the March 2009 issue of Foreign Policy Magazine. The reason given for listing the Holy Father as a loser was that he is "not in touch with reality.")
Absolutely not. For the modern world indeed sees things as our first Pope did PHYSICALLY [but not spiritually!] when he died: upside down. They consider the fullness of light the fullness of darkness and the fullness of darkness the fullness of light! (N.B. It is generally believed that St. Peter was crucified upside down at his own request. He did this because the world he lived in was calling good evil and evil good; IOW, the world was turned upside down and he wanted to see the world right side up as he died.)

Huh. It looks like that Google Blogger bug is affecting not only the links, but any formatting command. The line "Based on this article" should be on a line by itself after the bolded section.

JIM CARROLL, Does N.B. mean No Bull?! That's how I used it when I read your comments. LOL ~(:-} (Shaved head, I am in mourning).
MAC, have you tried using Open Office or even Word Perfect to type in your comments and then copy-paste into the comment box? Everytime I start to type a comment, the box clears, comes back blank and I have to start all over agin. This has been happening now for quite some time. Others have reported the same and I think BOO is just toooo curious as to what we are saying about him and has bugged our blog. Send for Terminex, quick and get this bugger out of our hair. I think he is responsible for all of the typos I am getting too. I saw a little Green Alien go buzzing past as I was typing this and maybe I should report it to the DGBD2.
That is Dept. of Green Bug Destruction to the 2nd power. Rahm is in charge of it you know.
LISA, you quit picking on Jim Carroll like that. He said you started it! Pssst; what did you start? (don't tell him I asked you though).

Grany, N.B. = Nota Bena. It's Latin for "note well" and is used when an author is quoting something and wants to insert a comment about the quote in his (or her) document.

Now JIM Carroll, you know you can't teach an old dog (gentile) new tricks and Nona Bena sounds like something I would put ham hocks in and cook for a long time. How about NBB instead! No bull baby!
I just have to brush up on my Latin some more or should I say, start studying! I thank you for your response and you know you are going to be ribbed about that for awhile to come, don't cha?

Israel stands ready to bomb Iran's nuclear sites
Jim G.
I am a little late in jumping in with some thoughts about the situation you find yourself with your Mother.
I've been away from home off and on for three weeks. But I tried to catch up somewhat and I did read your posts and some of the advice that you were given.
I felt that some of the advice lacked some biblical principles that should be prayerfully considered. My first thoughts were of God's command for us to honor our parents, and the teaching that Jesus gave us about forgiving 70 x 7, and turning the other cheek, and going the extra mile in returning good for evil since even the unbelievers do good to those who do good to them, and I could go on and on. I also thought about putting on the whole armor of God and averting the arrows that Satan uses your Mom to sling into you and your wife's lifes. I wondered if your wife is a Christian, and I kind of remember that she is. Also wondered about your Mom and her salvation. You said that she didn't go to church but did watch sermons on TV. Well, for several days, after deciding to pray about a response and to wait on the LORD, not wanting to shoot from the hip, and knowing in my heart that God always wants to "redeem the situation," and that you indeed have a very heavy decision to make concerning everyone involved, I was not surprised to see this in my inbox tonight. I believe that God wants me to share Dr. Stanley's thoughts with you.
How to Handle Personal Conflict
by Charles F. Stanley
Conflicts take many forms, from children shouting and punching on the playground to the most sophisticated international intrigue in times of war. Your "hot spot" for not getting along with others could be at home in your family or on the job with a co-worker whose personality isn't the best fit.
Whatever the case, you encounter various kinds of conflict in many areas of life, even as one who belongs to Christ. Some Christians mistakenly believe that since Jesus lives in and through them, guiding them with the Holy Spirit, that they will be able to avoid confrontations with others. Because God loves us so much and works continually to conform us to His image, Jesus does not prevent every argument from happening. Those He allows, He provides a way through them with grace.
He never intended for you to spend your energy seeking for ways to avoid all tension. That is impossible in this life. Jesus wants us to know what to be prepared for: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33 NIV).
Imagine this scene in a typical home. The sister works hard all day doing what her mother asked—scrubbing the tile floors, cleaning the windows, folding the laundry. Her brother, however, spends his Saturday out with friends instead of doing his chores. To make matters worse, when her brother does come home, he succeeds in tromping mud down the entrance hall and doesn't even help to wipe it up.
Then suddenly, she blows her top. She tells him how thoughtless he is, among other things, and does not stop until she's vented her frustration. A few minutes later, as she sees his dejected, surprised face, she feels horrible. Now it will take much talking and forgiving to work through their disagreement.
That is the way it is with conflict. When a difference is not resolved within a reasonable amount of time, and within the boundaries of scriptural principles, more pain is the result.
In his book "Christian Counseling," Gary Collins talks about why anger is a natural part of conflict.
When a person is rejected, "put down," humiliated, unjustly criticized, or otherwise threatened, anger is often aroused. Threats challenge our self-esteem and make us feel so vulnerable that anger and aggression become ways to fight back. Sometimes when we are threatened and made aware of our own imperfections we respond in anger toward those who fail to meet our expectations of them. This directs attention away from ourselves, hides the fact that we are hurt or threatened, and lets us feel better at someone else's expense.
According to one psychologist, hurt and anger almost always go together. "Seconds after the event which arouses the hurt feeling, another feeling skyrockets into awareness—anger." The anger comes so quickly and is so apparent that it is easy to miss the hurt which comes first.
So how do you defuse the emotional bomb once you sense the countdown has begun? The power of Jesus Christ is the answer (Philippians 4:13). He is the only one who can control your emotions and channel them in the right directions. It is also crucial to remember that anger is not intrinsically wrong (Matthew 21:12-17). Anger in response to sin and its ill effects is a form of righteous anger, but when it crosses the line into nursing a grudge, or retaliation, or mean-spirited vengeance, it is not honoring to God.
A key principle for handling anger is found in Ephesians 4:26-27: "Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity." Have you ever gone to bed at night with an argument unsettled? How did you feel the next morning? More than likely, the sensation of weight on your heart had grown, and you might have felt physically ill.
Your own health and well-being are not the only reasons for quick resolution; the deeper principle at work is one of avoiding bitterness. When a hurt is not addressed, it works its way down into your inmost parts. Bitterness is a lack of forgiveness multiplied many times over, taking root and spreading into every segment of life.
A typical argument may operate in this fashion. You hear the accusations start to fly. Everything within you wants to just "tell it like it is" and make the person be silent, even at the expense of future communication. But this time, you are prepared. You understand how the Bible puts disagreements into eternal perspective, and you let Jesus take control of the situation.
1) Don't be concerned about making yourself heard. Be a good listener first. You cannot hope to defuse the intensity of both sets of emotions until you can calmly listen to the other person's point of view (James 1:19-20).
This is the biblical principle of "counting to ten" before you speak. Of course, the Lord wants you to do far more than engage in an empty, mental exercise. He wants you to pray, think about what Scripture applies to the situation, and ask Him to demonstrate His love to the other person in spite of your confused and uptight feelings.
2) Be truthful, as much as is loving under the circumstances, and don't seek to avoid the heart of the matter. It is always better to deal with the issue directly, rather than sidestepping or burying it. Colossians 3:9 explains the reason why you should speak honestly: "Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices."
3) Speak in love with words that build up the other person. The classic problem most people experience is that the very moment when gracious words are most required is also the moment that kindness is the most difficult. Again, the grace of the Lord must operate through you, and you can prepare to let Him work in advance of an argument (Ephesians 4:29).
Norman Wright gives a picture of how Jesus demonstrated these qualities with difficult people in trying situations:
A basic characteristic of Jesus' approach was His compassion for others . . . His concern was to alleviate suffering and meet the needs of people.
When Jesus first met others, He accepted them as they were. In other words, He believed in them and what they would become. The characteristic of acceptance is seen in John 4, John 8, and Luke 19. When Jesus met the woman at the well, He accepted her as she was without judging her. He accepted the woman caught in adultery and Zacchaeus, the dishonest tax collector, as well.
Individuals were Jesus' top priority. He established this priority and gave them worth by putting their needs before the rules and regulations . . . He involved Himself in the lives of people who were considered the worst of sinners, and He met them where they had a need.
In any conflict, you should know that the outcome is not in your hands. You cannot force someone to listen or forgive or change. Only God can work in his or her heart, the same way that He works with you in patience and unconditional love (Philippians 2:13). You can only be responsible for yourself and your relationship with Christ.
In certain cases, you may be left with great hurts. You may be someone's emotional victim. God understands this pain, but He counsels you to let Him handle the offender (Romans 12:19).
Penelope Stokes shares a principle for facing such hurt in her book "Grace Under Pressure": "When we face a crisis of misunderstanding—no minor disagreement, but a major, life-shattering accusation—we are placed in a position to receive an abundant measure of the grace of God."
Whether you face conflict that redefines your spiritual existence or whether you deal with the routine disagreements of everyday living, the reality of Jesus' healing love is the same—and it belongs to you.I am going to keep all of you in prayer. I am also going to ask God to put a hedge of protection around each of you, especially your darling little boy, that even though he is not old enough to mentally understand the problem, his spirit can feel the conflict.
In His love,
A Berean
A Berean,
Wow! Thanks for sharing! Great advise for everyone.
Love,
Marge
Berean,
Thank you so much. That article was very good. Thanks for praying for me and my family. Yes, my wife does love the Lord and my mom.
The article was full of truth and wisdom based upon God's Word. Amen to all that Dr. Stanley said.
I obviously have the responsibily as a son to honor my parents AND the responsibiltiy as a husband and father to love and protect my wife and son. It's easier (not easy, but easier) to take verbal punches when they are only aimed at you. When negative words and actions (or inaction) are aimed at those you love and are responsbible to protect, that changes things a bit.
On a more general note, I so love EVERYONE at the cave here. The wisdom, the truth, the passion for Jesus is so encouraging. When we all get to heaven, we've got to have a little cave reunion of some kind;-)
P.S. My mom has watched Dr. Stanley on TV every Sunday for many years. She just has no desire to attend church. I've never understood how a person can love Jesus but reject His Fiance'. (There's a thought. Is the Church right now His Bride or is His Fiance', waiting for the her Bridegroom.)
Thanks all for digging up some background on Maurice Sklar. Bentley & Hinn-perhaps we are lacking in the discernment area?
With associations such as those it does cause one to be more cautious as to what "spirit" may be providing his prophetic information.
Although the "Gates of Grace" didn't have anything sounding too off kilter in it.
Anyone of us can be deceived by seducing spirits & we must check the info to see if it is inline with God's Word.
And that includes the entire body of Christ-even Catholics with or without the Pope.
(Jim C. and I are probably related somehow.)
I came across this today Holy Spirit Baptism Study speaking of being equipped for boldness, ministry & spiritual warfare.
We are all going to need the fullness of the Holy Spirit in the days ahead. At least take a look & give it some prayer & consideration if you haven't already.

From Iranian Press TV:
N. Korea warns US against 'declaring war'"The North [Korean] state-run television announced on Saturday that any attempt to enforce sanctions or pressure against Pyongyang would be seen as a 'declaration of war'. "
ANNE, sounds like to me that NKorea has been reading too many fairy tales "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Who's afraid of Him?" Sounds like a school bully shouting to all of the little kids (smaller than him)taunting them into doing something dumb. Then along comes "Puff, the Magic Dragon" and the Far East belches. Now if they had a vested interest in the Pirates of Somalia then I could see the reason for their taunting.
Whatever, Sunday will be here in a short while and I am preparing myself for a visit to my old friends this Sunday morning service. Haven't been with them in a long while and I am hoping all goes well. They kinda got out of step with God when their Worship leader ran off with the husband of her best friend and the associate pastor. God has been moving and bringing a lot of correction to the whole group.
So, I am going to retire for the evening to do some very much needed praying before my sojourn.
God bless you all,
Grany

I thought your deleted comments were right on and contained some good points for what it's worth. but then you know me...
Jim G
for what it's worth-the voice of personal experience sort of. I watched my mom growing up and she complained rather vocally about how poorly she and her children were treated by my dad's folks and there are stories that are legendary within the family about their poor treatment of my mom and others. I never once saw my dad take a stand against his parents for their treatment of my mother or us his children and it REALLY REALLY bothered my mom that he did not do so. When my mother pulled something very similar to what my grandparents had done to her all those years to my husband (I think we were just dating at the time but we had discussed marriage and I knew he was going to ask I just didn't know when) I put my foot down (nicely) and let her know that we weren't going down that road.
I have a friend that I expect to hear from someday that she and her husband are getting a divorce and it will be over his continued failure to protect his wife and step daughter (his mom gives lavish gifts to him and her biologic grand daughter and essentially nothing to his wife and step daughter, she routinely verbally abuses the both of them etc). At their wedding I watched his folks try to give him the cars keys to a vehicle before the ceremony to leave my friend at the altar and they weren't being funny or joking. They hated (dad is now dead) my friend with a passion and the mom still does. It is very sad. my friend talks to me all the time and blows of steam over the situation because it does her absolutely no good to talk to her dh about it. She feels extremely under appreciated and sometimes unloved by her dh over this especially since she goes out of her way to help her mom in law with a multitude of things (she's pretty handy with home remodeling and essentially re painted, wallpapered, put down flooring etc in the new house purchased for mom in law to move into in the community in which they live, let her dh drive 8 hours one way one weekend a month so that he could help his mom with stuff before they moved her closer to them and really they took no family vacations for a couple of years because of that).
long way of saying-while we are to be loving in our conflict resolution sometimes clear defined boundaries need to be set and maintained and your folks need to know that their behavior is not acceptable, is not Christlike, lacks in common courtesy etc. Also keep in mind that your wife needs to hear you say this to them and not just to her you will avoid a lot of grief and heartache at home trust me on this one.
Joanne and Harold want to thank all of you for your prayers. They were very touched to hear that all of us here are praying for them. my mom says is is all the extra prayers that have enabled joanne to survive not one but 2 surgeries. apparently her first surgery was not until wednesday and thursday the staff had her up walking and didn't listen when she said she was not feeling well. She started bleeding and was rushed back to surgery friday. She apparently had a heart attack between the 2 surgeries and had to be transferred to another facility. she has also had 2 stents placed post bypass and they will do another before she goes home. the doctor said if it hadn't been for the fact that she was in such good physical shape before surgery I'd be sharing news of her death with you now. i also think it had to do a great deal with prayer.
I will keep you all posted but she apparently is doing quite well at this time and is expected to be discharged from the hospital early next week.
Hi everyone,
I have a question for all of you. My brother is in seminary and he has a small family. He is highly intelligent and well educated. My Dad (who, along with me,believes we are on the brink of the end)tried to have a talk with Dan about how we are closing in on the times Jesus warned about (if not in it already). Dan did not want to listen, he does not believe so and he thinks he can just go on his merry way and live his life as planned. I do not see my brother often and we were very close growing up. I see danger in his line of thinking (he voted for Obama by the way)but do not even now how to begin to warn him. Do all of you wise people here have an idea on how I could warn him? Good sites or articles that might make him think more about it? I was going to e-mail or write him and send him a book but there are so many books. I feel the need to warn and to pray. I love him dearly but he is very over educated at this point and I think that he may be clogging his spirit with too much focus on learning. I am afraid that he has set his education up as an idol. He does not work and depends on donations as he was once employed by a campus parachurch organization for campus missionaries and his donors still donate. His wife works some.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Hope you all have a blessed day in the Lord! Praying for all of your needs.

that is a tall order. I would suggest Epicenter by Joel Rosenberg and "what in the world is going on" by Dr David Jeremiah
they do have some differences in that joel believes that Gog and Magog will take place before the rapture being hte main one.
If you really want to get him something more "seminary like" highly recommend "Footsteps of the Messiah" by Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum with it's companion study guide. Epicenter and Dr Jeremiah's books aren't particularly deep. Footsteps is far deeper and more complex. If you really want to get him something even more deep than Footsteps i would suggest Frucht's book Israelology. I might add that the last one tends to be a little dry as it is Frucht's doctoral thesis but actually might appeal since it covers the roots and beliefs of covenant theology in relation to Israel as well as dispensational theology in relation to Israel. It also happens to be 2200 pages long. But if he is prizing his education more than anything else these days it might be the one. It does include discussions of end times theology since both groups view things differently.
btw for all
Dr Jeremiah's book is kind of like epicenter and he did make one interesting comment that i hadn't thought of but is somewhat similar to what Frucht said in footsteps in that they both believe that the one world government is in place before the AC takes control of it. While Frucht as I remember places the AC governing at the front end of the Tribulation, Dr Jeremiah places the rule of the AC in the middle of the Tribulation. the man who is the AC is the one who confirms the treaty with Israel but doesn't actually take control of the one world government until just after or just before the AoD.
I also highly recommend when the book comes out in paperback-unless you go to Sam's club or Costco and pay $14 for the hardback book "the Survivor's club" by Ben Sherwood. It is not a religious book but is very fascinating. The book does deal with why people survive against unusual odds but actually deals more with why people who should have survived don't survive. While I think most of us have heard that those of faith live 7 or so years longer than those without faith, the same study or a similar study also showed that those with faith who struggle with God while ill have a 6-10% chance of dying from that illness over others who have the same illness. Those who struggled with God feeling alienated and alone from God while il and blamed their illness on the devil were 19-28% more likely to die during the 2 year study period! the end result was that if people had a limited God they were far more likely than those with a much larger view of God to die of illness. so the key question is "How big is your God?" the researcher who did this study found that the more mature a person's faith was the more likely they were to survive!
There are several other views (of course)... as I recall that Jimmy DeYoung places the AC in Rome for the first 3 1/2 years, then to Jerusalem for the Abomination of Desolation then to Babylon (in modern day Iraq, I'm quite sure).
He also has the 7 year trib beginning with the confirmation of a peace treaty with Israel...followed by 3 1/2 years of a false peace, the AOD, then the Great Tribulation the last 3 1/2 years which is pretty traditional.
Just checking in quickly....hope all is well out there with you all...it is a beautiful day around here!
The daffodils are just starting to come up!!
Maranatha!! Praise God!
Diana I will pray for your brother and for everyone else, too!
Wow! So much good stuff going on here I don't know where to begin! The quotes are very inspirational, and I have often thought about how I will react to coming into the very presense of G-d! I have to tell you, it is like the song, "I Can Only Imagine!" I don't think I can even begin to know how I will act! One of my favorite songs is "Glory Defined." It has a line in it that says, "When I cross over Jordan, I know that I'll be running home to You! click here Think about it! Running home to Y'shua/Jesus!Enjoy!
Susan Boyle is great! I don't know if you all have heard the latest, but they are trying to decide whether to keep her look or give her a makeover! I think they should let her choose, after all, it's her life. Someone said something about Simon Cowell(?) wanting to let his dentist fix her teeth. Someone else said they didn't need to, they needed to keep her the way she is. Come on! I have dental work I would do in a second if I had the money! Most of us would do some self improvements if we could! They need to ask her what she wants! Ok. I'll get off my soapbox now. She is a magnificent singer though, and the other British judge asked her to dinner! Would that fall under fratenizing with the judges?
As for Maurice Sklar, I thought his rendition of mercy's gates very thought provoking. I did look at his other prophecies and he has missed some of them. Thank goodness we are living in grace! Under the law if you missed a prophecy, you were stoned! Anyway, I don't judge others salvation. He may have very good intentions, but I would definitely proceed with caution!
As for kosher, you are right, there are two koshers. There is one for everyday use, an animal must be killed a certain way to be kosher, of course no pork, and a farm for produce is suppose to let their land rest every 7 years. The produce doesn't seem to be as important as the meat kosher. The passover kosher is different because, for that whole week, they do not eat any leaven,(yeast or baking soda), vinegar, and I read an article where some don't eat lentils because they were used for making bread. After the week is over, they go back to the regular kosher laws.
I was sick this morning and unable to attend church. My hsuband and I sat and listened to Charles Stanley preach that same sermon! It was great! I do believe that, sometimes, we do have to make a stand. Confrontation is inevitable at times, but we must be very careful how to handle it! Prayer is the biggest thing. If we are led by G-d, we won't say things we have to ask forgiveness for later! I think it is better to confront someone before anger enters in. That way you can try to diffuse the situation. Using a calm voice without insults, you can usually make a point without attacking the person.
I will pray for Joanne. It is wonderful that G-d has brought her this far! He may still have a work for her and her husband!
Diana, I understand about your brother. I have one that insists he has everything right with G-d, but won't go anywhere to worship. He just had a pacemaker put in last year! You would think, if you are living close to death, it would make you think about how you are living! I don't know what it will take for some people! I have raised 4 children. They are grown and married with children of their own. I have been stressed about them not living for G-d. I have one that is a minister. I raised them in church and tried to actively do things, that I knew kids and teenagers would be interested in, that would teach them! I worry over them so much! I just keep reminding myself that G-d loves them more than I do! I am contemplating a time of fasting and praying against anything that would hinder them. I know though, that in the end, it has to be their decision.
OK, now for my post. I heard, on the History Channel, that apocalypse means unveiling. I looked it up to make sure. click here. That is what it means! I guess, at the time of the apocalypse, the unveiling of things will take place and we will see everything for what it is. The physical and the spiritual will open up before our eyes! We will probably see a lot of it prior to the apocalypse, but we will see it in it's whole afterward! Of course, we will be in our glorified bodies by then, so we will be able to take it! Life as we know it is going to change forever!

thanks for the tip Mac, it seems to be working.
The United States [1] , Canada [2] , Australia [3], Italy [4] , Israel [5] and the Netherlands [6]
have pulled out of the 2009 Durban Review Conference to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, Monday April 20 – Friday, April 24.
Other nations such as Germany are waiting until the last moment to decide whether to participate or not. [7]
U.S. President Barack Obama said on Sunday that the United States had decided to boycott the conference because the draft for the summit risked declaring "hypocritical allegations" against Israel. [8]
The text affirms in total the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action from 2001. This text singled out Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians as racist. [9]
The conference is chaired by Libya with Iran and Cuba serving as the vice chairs. [10]
The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is one of the few world leaders who are scheduled to address the gathering.[11]
I second Jib's recommendation of Footsteps and Israelology. I actually have both books. When I first bought "Footsteps" I quickly skimmed through it. Lately, though, I have it beside me most often. The book is a treasure chest of info – even if there’re one or two places where I don’t agree with him. I especially recommend Dr Frucht’s exposition of the Olivet Discourse harmonized with Mark and Luke.
Another really good one I keep handy is Dwight Pentecost’s “Things To Come” even though some think it’s a bit outdated, and slanted towards pre-trib (which it is). I’ve used it to get a comparison of the posttrib and mid-trib views as well as the Gog-Magog timing arguments. I’d love to see this book updated by some good scholars to include pre-wrath and the current AC origin debate.
I went in to the Rapture Ready Forum tonight to take a look at the new postings, and I found a very good one. Someone had posted a clip from Jon Courson's Wed. night bible study. So. I went in and listened to it, and found it to be very electrifying and one that I think that all of us will benefit from. It's entitled, "A Warning for Us Zealots."
http://www.joncourson.com/teaching/teachingsplay.asp?teaching=T449
I think you will get a lot from listening to it.
Blessings,
A Berean
What keeps you going?
Your words are what sustain me. They bring me great joy and are my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God Almighty.
Jeremiah 15:16 NLT
I will write down these things as a testimony of what the Lord will do. I will entrust it to my disciples, who will pass it down to future generations.
Isaiah 8:16 NLT
For I have stayed in God's paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from his commands but have treasured his word in my heart.
Job 23:11-12 NLT
The soil of Eden
Our bodies originated in the soil of Eden. It should not surprise us that they are sustained by food that grows from the soil. Every source of food ultimately finds its nourishment in the soil, and that nourishment sustains our bodies.
Likewise, our souls were created by the breath of God in Eden; it should not surprise us that the Word of God, which is inspired, or "God breathed," sustains our souls. If we plan to eat food each day to keep our body alive, shouldn't we also plan to feast on God's Word each day to sustain our soul?
A Berean,
The Jon Courson Bible study was excellent-thanks for posting it.
I hadn't heard him teach before-I really enjoyed his style.
Lisa
Alesia
excellent words and so true
Mac
however did you get through Israelology? I am finding it tough going due to it being much lower going than Footsteps. it reads like a dissertation and at times I have to admit I'm bored.
All
my mom was perhaps a little over the top ? I guess in how her friend was doing. Joanne still very much needs your prayers. I would consider her touch and go at this point. They are apparently starting dialysis today as she has made no urine since friday. They took the balloon pump out of her heart today (that's a good thing but they generally only get put in if the heart isn't strong enough to pump and maintain bp and medications aren't enough unless they've gotten more liberal with their indications for putting it in) both the lack of blood pressure and the repetitive use of iv dye have likely damaged her kidneys and at age 76 there isn't a lot of reserve. she is still on the ventilator and sedated as well. it is a good sign that the balloon pump is out but she still has an incredibly long way to go
I am fixing to check out the Jon Courson teachings. Have you all heard that Miss California lost the Miss USA pageant last night because she was asked about her position on gay marriage? She made a stand against it and they voted against her. These people are really making me mad! They want the right to free speech and to stand for what they want, then they want to penalize someone else because of their right to free speech! Don't hate us, but we will hate you! It's ridiculous!
Well, with all the talk of racism at the U.N. meeting, we shouldn't have to worry about the New World Order coming together soon! However, if Israel attacks Iran and nuclear war (Ezekiel's war) ensues, people will be begging for anyone who can bring peace!
Berean,
Listened to the link and I also enjoyed hearing him. Kinda reminds me of the type preaching I experienced in the late 60's and early 70's. Love, Peace, Joy, turning the other cheek. Still digesting it! Thanks for sharing with us.
JIB, I think I was a little too harsh in the deleted comment. Sometimes it is difficult to turn loose of the past failures of "Leaders" in the church but the lesson learned is a very serious one. Leaders are just people that we have set in the spotlight and are so easy to focus on instead of the Lord. We are all failures walking around in different colored Saran Wrap and then JESUS! After that we might are subject to defection and imperfection but He brings us through it all. Praise God I don't have to go back to the Potter's Haus again everytime I get side tracked.
So, back to the work for the night is coming when all working for God's kingdom will end. The work will be completed and the Age closed. Do we rejoice in this? Not at all! Souls could have been won and Hell robbed of it's victims if we had really toiled for the High calling of Jesus Christ.
Grany
Well, I have just listened to one of Jon Coursons sermons on the rapture. He is really good! I pray it happens the way he thinks it does! He makes some really good arguements for pre-trib rapture! I will definitely be listening to more. I hope and pray for the pre-tribulation rapture. I have heard good arguements for all the positions. One verse that really stays with me is the 3rd chapter of Revelation when G-d says that, if we are faithful, He will keep us from the time of testing that is coming upon this earth. I also know that the Word says we are not appointed unto wrath. So if we will be kept during the time of testing, and not appointed unto wrath, it would seem that we will be outa here! I just want to be careful. I know the disciples walked with Y'shua/Jesus everyday and still did not see who He was, at first. They all ran and hid and Peter denied Him the night of His arrest. After His resurrection, they realized, fully, who He is! We do not know exactly how all of this will unfold, but we can totally put our faith in Him that we are born for such a time as this and we can trust Him to care for us, whether it is catching us up in the air, or keeping us safe while the storm passes over us. You know the ark was tossed to and fro on the waves of the flood. It probably wasn't comfortable for the occupants, and they may have even been afraid as it rocked and rolled, but G-d was faithful and He carried them through! We just have to keep our eyes on Him and trust Him, however all of this unfolds! I do appreciate the link to the website though! He does teach things from a prespective I have never heard before!
As for anyone we listen to preaching the Word, I was musing over the posts about Todd Bentley and Benny Hinn and others. I also noticed that someone is using the name Berean for their posts! This is a great name! We all just need to be like the Bereans! Sometimes people begin to follow the Lord and He blesses them with great ministries. We know that, when this happens, this person ends up on the front lines of spiritual warfare. They become targets for satan to try to devour so he can stop them in their tracks and discredit them. With pastors or teachers or anyone we are learning from, we should always keep in mind that these people are just people like us learning and teaching what we know about living for the Lord. We are all capable of making mistakes, and capable of falling on our face! We should do like the Bereans did, I think it was with Paul, and search the scriptures daily to see if what they say is true or not. Can you imagine? Paul was definitely an apostle of the Lord, and they didn't take his word for what was going on! They searched the scriptures to see if it was true! We do that all of the time and have come across some wonderful nuggets of truth that we weren't even aware of! (By we I mean my husband and I). We would read the scriptures and say yes it definitely says that! Wow! That's amazing! Then other times we couldn't find or see what they said was in there. We need to uplift the people we learn from in prayer that they will be overcomers and warriors for the Lord! Lord help them not to fall! Help them to win their battles, so that they may encourage others! Then we should pray for ourselves that we will be led by the Spirit of the Lord and not fall for every wind of doctrine, but that His Spirit will reveal truth to us! He is faithful and He will do it!

I posted this at Marzullie's blog, but since everyone here doesn't blog there, I thought I would post it here too. I guess by now you have all heard about the anti-racism meeting of the UN at Durbin. Someone got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, and didn't like it one bit!click here
Lisa, more on the Sarah Obama story:

UGH! That's three articles from three different sorces! I've got Lori's bug, I guess.
I can across this article today written in 2000 The Great Falling Away but it's even more obvious now in 2009.
What?
"Defiant church pastors said they would not give up on convincing Sarah to convert."
"They camped at her Kogelo home, trying to convince her to be baptized."
Is this the way 7th Day Adventists bring people to Christ? I've never heard of such a thing.
"The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) began in America in the nineteenth century and continues to this day. While holding to many Biblical teachings, the SDA Church has strayed from the Bible by insisting that Christians must be baptized and observe a Saturday sabbath in order to be saved; that the unrighteous will be annihilated (rather than suffering an everlasting punishment in hell); that the soul is not conscious between death and the resurrection of the body, something the Bible clearly affirms is the case (Luke 23:43, Philippians 1:23, 2 Corinthians 5:8, Revelation 6:9, etc.).
Lamb & Lion Ministries article on 7th Day Adventists
D*mn. Here I thought the Tea Parties had been doing such a good job being non-violent:
Scores Killed, Hundreds Injured as Para-Military Extremists Riot in Boston AreaNational guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed on April 19th by elements of a paramilitary extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.
Speaking after the clash Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group's organizers as "criminals," issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government's efforts to secure law and order.
The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed widespread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons. Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms. One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out "none of these people would have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily."
Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily armed extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government's plans. During a tense standoff in Lexington 's town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right-wing extremists.
Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange. Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith, finding his forces overmatched by the armed mob, ordered a retreat.
Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor has also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, who have been identified as "ringleaders" of the extremist faction, remain at large.

And this,
mac
That was a great post, DF!
Thanks, Mac, I hope I remember.
Dear Mac's DF,
We all think you did great and we, too, would love to hear your side of the DF story.
Date, time, place, attire, RSVP?, etc., etc.,etc. (My King of Siam impersonation). Will Mac wear his muscle shirt and a bow tie, and will his tux pants be short (bush type) or long with a stripe on the sides? Oh, I know! I am so excited that the questions are rolling around like pumpkins in October.
The reason I am really asking the hard questions is, Mac has referred to you at least 2 times just in this thread of your post. Is he getting just a little bit anxious himself?
Awh, the questions will never be answered but I will have time to gather my rice for the shower you are going to get. Do you want it raw, cooked slightly or real moist?
QUESTIONS, and no answers.
Now on a serious note, did you all see the video of the delegates walking out of the Durban II meeting when the "Dinner Jacket" started his crazy speech? I know that is a very BIG insult for a Persian, even a crazy one at that.

A Berean, I don't post at Rapture Forums (or any of the rapture forums) but I came across it when I was researching something some time ago. They have a couple very smart posters there. Mattfivefour comes to mind. His scholarship is quite impressive.
Jib, Israelology isn’t the sort of book you can read from cover to cover. At least not using my brain! It’s a great reference work though. It reminds me a lot of Chafer’s systematic theology in its depth of analysis.
Jim C;
LOL. As I was reading the posts from the bottom up I came across the last words of one of the posts (while not showing who wrote it)
"D*mn Hippies" What is so funny is that I knew it was your post before even reading your name! :)

This is quite silly but it only peaked my interest because D.H. said that Madonna did not fall off of a horse but rather a Donkey.
He said that is what Bill Handel said this morning on his radio talk show & I can't find any reference other than a "Horse".
I asked him why in the world she would have been riding a Donkey & D.H. said it had to do w/her Kabala religion & imitating Christ.
Now, is someone pulling my leg here or what?
Grany, about Dinner Jacket's speech...don't you wish just one of them had thrown a shoe or two? I would have liked to see him duck, could he have done as well as Bush?
Oh, that wasn't very nice, was it.
Mac and Alesia,
It was bound to happen. Any time a woman asks a man if he's as handsome as his dog, it's as good as done.
We're all happy for you both.

Hawking misses the point.
"As a result of his research, Hawking proposed a model of the universe based on two concepts of time: "real time," or time as human beings experience it, and "imaginary time," the time on which the world may really run. "The universe is self-contained, and without boundary, in imaginary time. However, in real time, the universe will appear to begin at the Big Bang (the explosion thought to be at the origin of the universe)," Hawking has said.
"The laws of physics will hold everywhere, so it is not necessary to believe that God intervened to set it going."
we clearly has posited a correct notion that God lives outside of our time with time as we know it having a definite beginning yet somehow thinks it happened by chance. how sad. given that Professor Hawking is apparently quite ill perhaps we should be praying that somehow his heart has not been hardened beyond the point of repentance. God has been very gracious in giving this man the gifts that he has and giving him life beyond that which was expected medically-one has to wonder why?
I wonder if Tony Blair could turn out to be the False Prophet or if he's just a forerunner? He doesn't seem to command enough respect as far as I can tell @ the moment.
His "quest" is to bring all of the major world religions together to unite disparate faiths into a force (a force?) for global good.
He is both Political & now religious & has joined the obvious one which fits both of his passions-RCC.
Regarding his new role: it gives him " a powerful sense of mission, every bit as powerful as I felt in politics."
(I guess "power" is his thing?)
Jim C. How do you think the RCC will take his Politically Correct views if he spouts off about Gay Marriage & such? Looks like he's restraining his personal feelings on that issue right now.
When trying to explain the mindset of the Vatican's hard lined stance on gay rights he said that the problem (what problem?)was "generational". "There's probably that same fear among (other) religious leaders that if you concede on and issue like this...where does it end? You'd start having to rethink many, many things. My view is that rethinking is good, so let's carry on rethinking." (We all know what that means.)
He says "The foundation's aim is to advance interfaith action and wrestle back influence from extremists-of all faith, not just Islam." (That means us folks! We are extremely devoted to following God's word-period. Not the ideas of man-especially his!)
So he's targeting Colleges under "Faiths Act Fellows" to focus the students on combating malaria. Doesn't seem too powerful right now- humm?? He only has a few students involved.
He reads the Old & New Testaments & the Qu'ran daily.” This is not for me a 'this year and next year’s project. This is a rest-of-my-life project. Over time, people will be able to see me in a different light." (I wonder if it's the same light Ahmadinejad saw at his speech when no one blinked?)

Lisa, funny you should say that. I mentioned that to my DH last night and he just gave me a weird look. Actually, I think it was weird, I just opened my mouth and declared he was the false prophet. Shame on me for blurting such a thing. He might be a false prophet, but not necessarily, "the one."
To All:
Things are shaping up world-wide for what is to come, after these things.
Soon, we're going to hear that trumpet blast and his glorious voice shouting, "Come up here!"
He stands at the door and knocks, be sure to open the door to Him, He will soon open the door of heaven to us.
actually let's make it three as I had nearly the same thought although I was thinking more of the AC rather than the FP. he certainly sounds more like one of them every time he opens his mouth and I think you all are right that FP would be the better fit.
You've heard of RINO'S, how about CINO's?.
I will make it four!
Saw him on TV last night also and told husband to get a good look at a false prophet. Then corrected it by saying, "in fact, he could indeed be The False Prophet that John the Revelator spoke of. DH doesn't have a clue about the Book of Revelation as a foreteller of things to come. He just thinks it is a dark mysterious book that he has no desire to know about.
Now having said that so you would appreciate what he said next. He remarked that there was something "Big about to take place" and he didn't know whether to be afraid or get ready for a battle royal. He doesn't trust BOO and Co. Doesn't have much respect for the Liberal Demos and less respect for the ones in D.C.
I don't talk about prophecy around him as he does not believe any of it. However, he happened to be given a book by a man in our community that everyone highly regards and isn't known for being extreme or even as a Christian. But this man gave him David Jeremiah's book "What in the World is Going On" and DH is very into it. If I had given him the book it would end up on the unused book shelf but this man is also a pilot and they have flown together quite often. Both loved to do aerobatics and so it was a perfect vehicle to gain a foothold into DH's confidence.
I still have my copy of Ezekiel Option by Joel and I am going to leave it laying around in a visual place. Just the fly jacket is intriguing and it is a great mystery that he might enjoy.
MAC, loved the link "Revelation Song" and I am still playing it. Thanks beyond thanks. Great way to start the day and that is what I did.
But back to the Tony thing. Doesn't it seem strange that all of a sudden characters are beginning to show up that have changed so very much from what they were just a couple of years ago? I mean Tony was the PM of UK and seemed to be very sincere in service to the nations and a loyal friend. Then he leaves office kinda on a flaky reason, converts to Jim's RCC from what, I don't know. Then our former Pres. Bush endorses him for the EU post, and now he has become a very different persona. Our own BOO is another changing person from the one he tried portraying during the Run for the Presidency. Oh, he did promise change for us and by golly he has kept that end of his promises. But he seems to be getting all of the ground work done for the next office he intends to fill. Anyone want to guess what I think that will be? I have my seat belt firmly fastened and my track shoes on just in case. I hope we are all wrong. I would gladly say "I was wrong about that" but until then, I have my spare water, goodly supply of necessary items needed for survival and a constant prayer on my lips and in my heart the realization that SUDDENLY is about to happen.
Grany
P.S. And if anyone tries to tell me to remain calm and fearless, I have news for you! I am fearless and I know where I am going so I am calm but even a jackass knows when there is danger and you don't go tiptoeing through the tulips when the tigers are roaring.
Well, Grany, since you brought up that thought, I'd say the current front runners for that pick are Boo and Solana.
Sol has been spending the last 10+ years going from country to country, encouraging and in some cases forcing peace treaties.
The only reason I wouldn't put my number on Sol right now is the worship factor with Boo. So many seem to be so enamored with Boo that they have left common sense behind. I don't see crowds flocking to their messiah Sol.
I never read Mein Kampf until this morning. I have only read one chapter 1/2 thru the book, but I can see a pattern similar to what is happening in our very own gov't.
None of this scares me either, I read the last chapter of the good book and I know how it ends.
Joel has a new post which includes:
Excepts from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s tirade at the U.N. Racism Conference
Nate, are you still out there?
What about the man arrested for being the Craigs list killer? Friendly, always had a smile on his face, never in a bad mood....makes me really think I need to be pleading the blood of Y'shua/Jesus over my family and friends and myself. I remind myself to keep a spirit of forgiveness and never let bitterness or anger take root, lest I fall in the same puddle!
As for the AC, I have also heard some talking about him coming from an area of Persia. The Word says he will rise up out of the sea of people, so it seems he is somewhat obscure until it comes his time. It also says that he will forsake the gods of his mother, so he may appear religious at first, and then will walk away from it,desiring worship for himself. It also says that he won't have natural affection for women. This could mean that he is gay or practices abstenance. He will definitely be a character!
Anne, funny you should say that about dinner jacket needs to have a shoe thrown at him. I was thinking the same thing! LOL!
Great Granny, does the book your husband's friend gave him have an appeal to people who fly? I have a friend who flies who doesn't believe any of this is going to happen. If it works, I would like to get the book for him.
On a different note, people have been remembering the holocaust this week. I posted this on Marzulli too, but this is a song I am trying to learn to sing for church. I haven't got through it yet without crying. This isn't the best recording of it, sound or video, but it tells the story of how this lady wrote the song. It came off of the walls of one of the holocaust prison camps. Someone had carved into the wall, "I believe in the sun, even when it's not shining, I believe in love, even when I don't feel it, I beleive in G-d, even when He is silent." Can you imagine the faith it took to write that facing the kind of deaths that they faced? It's incredible! click here Hope it blesses you as it did me! You can find better recordings of the sound and video you can see better too.
Hey, where is everyone?
'Quiet Sun' baffling astronomers
been in a doctor's office all afternoon and it wasn't mine. I got a second opinion on my foot and it looks like it really is an ankle problem for part of it. it a different brace for about 1 month. it the brace helps the problem is correctable with surgery except for the fact that I really can't afford to take the time off needed to recover. if the brace does not help then pretty much nothing can likely be done. complete healing would be great-the ligaments in my ankle need to miraculously reappear otherwise not sure if I should be hoping the brace helps or not.
yesterday was the day of the mildly potentially abnormal mammogram.
our son managed to behave for the whole afternoon and so we treated him to dinner at one of his favorite places to eat-we don't get there very often as it is kind of out of the way for where we normally go.
I've always rather thought that BOO was a better candidate for the AC but who knows-perhaps since he is promoting Blair for the EU job Boo is the FP. remains to be seen.
I am working my way through the same book Grany. it is quite good.
Mac
you may be correct about Israelology-reference only since every time I sit down to read it I get just so far and then by the time I pick it back up I've forgotten what I've read and if I read in it for any length of time I want to pull my hair out.
speaking of lurkers how are the 2 Jens and Daveschatology doing? on the off chance that Harold is lurking how are you doing?
the delete is mine-somehow it posted twice. sorry
"They camped at her Kogelo home, trying to convince her to be baptized."
Is this the way 7th Day Adventists bring people to Christ?
Hey, Lisa!
In answer to your question--No way!
I'm not sure where your quote came from, but I can assure you this is not the way Adventists bring people to Christ.
Michigander!
Hey-your still alive & kick in!
Well, that 7th Day statement came from this ARTICLE That Anne linked on the Obama's Grandma Conversion attempt.
I had never heard of such a thing & doubted the validity of it unless it was a fluke of some sort.
Maybe you can find out what really occurred (:
What do you think w/so many of the prophecy teachers working on overtime w/all that's been transpiring? So many different & strange things going on @ once it's hard to keep up.
Bat, I've been trying to fix my daughter's laptop. Don't expect to see much of me for the next few days.
<><
Look Up Fellowship JRed has been on fire this week if you haven't read his posts.
Yes, Lisa, I'm still kickin'. Been pretty busy, and besides, you guys are hard to keep up with. By the time I think of something to write, you're all on to another topic!
As for the Obama grandmother baptism article, please note that it is posted on a Islamic website, so the information is most likely skewed. As you can see from the comments below the article, most of them are dead-set against any Christianity. The last thing they want is for Obama's grandmother to become a Christian!
I found this article in an Adventist periodical. Presidential Inauguration Preserves Prayer Tradition. It appears that the grandmother attended a series of meetings and decided to get baptized. From another article I found, it seems that relatives prevailed against her decision and kept her from doing it. See here.
Of course, as Christians, we know baptism is a personal choice and is an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Jesus all the way in obedience to His command, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commnaded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matt. 28:19,20
Hope this clears this up!
God bless,
Vicki
On your other question, Lisa, ("What do you think w/so many of the prophecy teachers working on overtime w/all that's been transpiring? So many different & strange things going on @ once it's hard to keep up.")...
I don't know if this question was directed at me, but I'll be happy to comment.
With so many people trying to predict what will happen in this strange world we're presently living in, and with so many varying prophecies, it can be confusing. It's easy to jump around from theory to theory, and soon not know which end is up!
Well, we all know that they're not all right! There is only one truth, and that truth is found in the Bible! The Bible interprets itself, and we should not be given to private interpretation.
("Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." 2 Peter 1:20)
That seems to be what is happening so often--"prophetic teachers" can come with preconceived notions and find Bible verses to support them. That's why there are so many theories!
What we have to do is go to our Bible and pray the Holy Spirit will lead us in our study. We must put away our preconceptions and strive to learn what God is telling us through His Word. He will answer our prayers and guide us!
Vicki
This is a great video of the Miss USA debacle over the Gay Marriage question Video Here She gives her response @ the end. I had a feeling but didn't know 100% that she is a Christian. Well she is.
(Her sister isn't gay but is actually a gay rights activist. They get along well though.)
Grany,
How I love your exressions! "but even a jackass knows when there is danger and you don't go tiptoeing through the tulips when the tigers are roaring." Love that! :)
When Boo was running for office so many people were speculating on if he could be the AC or not. My dad and I had a discussion on it and he did not think him to be, nor did I. But now... when I told dad about his cozing up with Chavez dad mentioned that Boo has never stopped running, running for election that is, of the whole world. He is trying hard to get everyone to love him. Not love us, the US, but him. Perhaps FP. It has not even been 100 days yet and already we are seeing major changes and things that the news networks do not even report on.
I haven't paid much attention to Tony Blair but now I will start to!

Obama Fills State Department With Globalists (Snippet from Cutting Edge:)
"Sohn said that he wanted this world government to maintain hundreds of thousands of troops, military bases, and be armed with nuclear weapons. The purpose, he said, would be to disarm 'each and every nation and to deter or suppress any attempted international violence'.”
This goal is completely aligned with the New World Order Plan as first enunciated by Alice Bailey of the House of Theosophy in 1945! Listen and weep.
"The atomic bomb does not belong to the three nations who perfected it and who own the secrets at present...It belongs to the United Nations for use..or for threatened use when aggressive action on the part of any nation rears its ugly head." (Alice Bailey, "The Externalisation of the Hierarchy", p. 548).
Bailey has just threatened atomic warfare against any nation who dares resist the leadership of the United Nations!! Obviously, if the U.N. is going to threaten atomic warfare against any nation resisting her edicts, that means all nations must be disarmed first. Listen again to Alice Bailey, writing through her guiding spirit in 1939!
"In the preparatory period for the New World Order, there will be a steady and regulated disarm-ament. It will not be optional. No nation will be permitted to produce and organize any equipment for destructive purposes or to infringe the security of any nation. One of the first tasks...will be to...gradually see to the disarming of the nations." (Bailey, "The Externalisation of the Hierarchy", p. 191).
We can see now that the plans we see unfolding today, in our Daily News, were created as far back as 1939, before World War II began!
(I suppose the nations would be willing to disarm after the Gog/Magog war possibly.)
Lisa, Shalom! Just a quick note before I start hacking away at my daughter's laptop:
RE: Tony Blair and the Vatican: I'm beginning to believe Tony didn't convert to the RCC out of any compelling belief, but simply because his wife is Catholic and they're raising their kids as Catholics. The Vatican is not happy, but the Vatican is nothing if not diplomatic. This is someone they're going to have to work with, and so long as he is expressing his personal opinion, then that's fine. If he starts declaring that the time for rethinking is over and the Vatican needs to change its view NOW, then there will be some problems (but not out in public -- again, the Vatican is nothing if not discreet.)
More on the coming schism later -- I'm having major keyboard problems now (G_D's way of telling me to get back to work on my daughter's laptop...)

Diana, I am glad you enjoyed that old fashion remark. My Papa taught me that one.
I found this at Debka and thought you all might find it interesting. CHENEY ASKS FOR UNCLASSIFICATION OF PAPERS and has already appeared on Fox News to state his position on Obama's foolish and underhanded attempts to smear the Bush Administration. Now before we all get too excited, I totally enjoyed the lack of excitement and grief over further terrorist attacks during the previous administrations 8 years. There is another old saying that I believe applies right here: Don't cuss the farmer while you are chewing steak. We had a man who was determined to keep us free and safe and now we have a man who is determined to throw it all away. Now that is change that you can keep!
JIB, you know I have a gallon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil on hand at all times and I might come knocking at your door and start applying it liberally!
DH's desk is beginning to look like a book store. He reads one for a while and then picks up another one and I am getting worried about him. He isn't used to doing that and he might get confused but he seems to be reading more of Jeremiah's book right now so that is a good sign. I can't wait for him to get it finished so I can read it too.
Obama has to have our prayers people and I mean to the good of God's kingdom. I just feel such a burden for his salvation and I keep believing that all things are possible with God.
Take care and keep looking up.
Grany
Hi...I hope and pray all is well with all of you.
How exciting Grany that Jim is reading David Jeremiah's book. I think I will get a copy of it myself as I love DJ and JIB also recommended this particular book recently.
I am hoping that you all can keep us in your prayers. There is a lot going on...good things in the worlds eyes, for which I am very thankful....but we still need prayer up this way for so many things.
I am also concerned about my husband...he has been very stressed out and is not saved, at least as far as I know...so some prayers for him would be greatly appreciated.
There is a lot more I can and will eventually say but I have to get ready for my work trip tomorrow...please pray for a safe journey and return home.
Our God is an awesome God!
Thank you, God, for all things in Jesus' name, Amen!
<><
Grany
thanks. at this rate I'm thinking i need to bathe in it! how much oil do you think that would take???
Donna
praying for your husband as well as others. I will say blogging here has made me much more aware of how blessed i have been through out my life. i really don't have a lot to complain about
Jib, between Grany's gallon and my gallon, we can drench you well.
Anyone else want in?
Grany,
stay calm...
be fearless....
;)
My country voted today...all went well. I believe that godless ANC will again have a two thirds majority. Strange that a country that claims to be 86% Christian would vote like this?
I long for a different government...the one we will all have one day!
jib, I will be praying for you too. Constant pain is really hard to live with. I pray that they will be at least able to try surgery and give you another opportunity to heal, but if they don't, G-d is still able!
Grany, does the book your DH is reading have anything to do with flying? I am asking because I have a friend I have been telling about all of these things going on and how they are fulfilling the Bible. He is a pilot and very skeptical about being in the "last days." It amazes me because he use to go to church quite regularly. It seems it didn't penetrate his heart and mind very well. (he didn't allow it to.) Anyway, if it is interesting to pilots, I would like to get it for him. Maybe he can digest it better, and maybe he will at least start searching.
I would like some of that oil spiritually sent my way, along with your prayers! My back seems a little stronger, but the pain is incredible! My life has nearly stopped compared to what I use to do. The sciatic nerve was pinched for 3 years. It came loose with the surgery, but it looks to the doctor like the damage is permanent. Pain, numbness, weakness all down the left hip, leg, and into my foot. They say I have permanent neuropathy, and they can't fix a nerve. Ok,that's the bad news, the good news is G-d is still on His throne and I know there is healing in Y'shua/Jesus name! I know I am walking down this road for a reason. I have really had time to dig into the Word and spend time on blogs, like this one, where I learn so much more and enjoy the company of others who are likeminded! The journey has been good, except for the pain!
I was just listening to the story of the man in Maryland that killed his wife, his 3 children, and himself. They said it was depression, and that he also tried to decapitate his children. Evil has defnitely found it's place in this world! I am sure we will see more as time goes on. I know I will keep my eyes on Y'shua/Jesus! It's the only way we're going to make it.
Jim.Carroll are you Catholic? I am asking because I was reading that they believe there will be, I think, 112 Popes before the return of Y'shua/Jesus. I believe the one in office now is 111? What kind of Pope do they think will be 112? Will there be anything special about him?
As for Tony Blair being Catholic, I think, like someone else said, it may of been more of a political move for his family. It doesn't seem at all to be a heart change because he doesn't agree with them at all. Am I correct that the Pope,or someone high in the Catholic church, asked Nancy Peloski to meet with him to discuss the difference in her views and that of the church? I wonder if Tony Blair will get the same meeting?
I am not Catholic myself, but I have friends who are. I have one especially who went to Ohio for Ministry school. He is graduating a priest next month. He has worked so hard for that! We don't always see eye to eye on the theology, but we use to work together. We do believe the same in the miraculous works of Y'shua/Jesus and we had some really great conversations about what we have seen and heard! Many of our co-workers would see us sit down together and they would run because they knew what was coming! They couldn't stand the Word of the Lord! I really enjoyed those days with him, though. I am happy he has accomplished something that is so meaningful to him!
Anyway, I can talk on here forever. I have too many long posts, so, this is the end of this one for now! Everyone have a wonderful and blessed day!
JIB, we could get you so slick you would just slide through instead of walking. But a little dab could do it when God gets in the middle of it.
Twinkle Toes, can we teach JIB to Break Dance while we are pouring the oil on? Just a thought.
Donna, praying for YDH and you. Don't drive faster than your angels can fly and whatever your needs are, God is sufficient in all things. If He can work out our (DH and DG) then He can do all things through those who belong to Him.
Fortysix group delegates walked out on the Wild Rantings of the Ambassador of Peace from Iran. He just smiled and thought it was funny. I wonder how the hook-in-the-jaw battle will make him feel? Sorta like getting a tooth pulled without any deadening.
People, I don't want to be around for the Tribulation so if I get a pass on it by Abba and you guys are still here waiting for the uncovering of the AC, please know I will be getting the Latte/Coffee/Tea shop ready and you all check in, you hear!
Grany
Thudda....S Africa is 86% Christian?? I had no idea! Seriously??
I'll chip in some olive oil, too.
What's this pilot stuff all about?
I've been extremely busy lately and suppose I must have missed that and who knows what else!
I definitely too am looking forward to His kingdom to come!
Maranatha!
Break dance? Well, I guess it's better than krunking! I was going for square dancing or perhaps this will do?
Or maybe not!

that's kind of scary since Pakistan has nukes!
Christine, Shalom! I'm taking a break from my daughter's laptop. She was trying to clean an infection and without thinking, deleted some systems files. So I'm trying to figure out what got deleted and if it's possible to salvage anything.
Yes, I'm Catholic, which means I have sources available to me that others don't generally consider. Back in September I posted a link to a blog, written by a Canadian Catholic Evangelist named Mark Mallett. The blog was an expansion of something that had been noted around the world for a few weeks, which was that all these statues of Mary, the Mother of God, were losing all their left hands. The statues could be inside or outside, so it wasn't simple vandalism; they were all sorts, styles, and types of statues, from all over the world, with only one thing in common: they had lost just their left hands.
The significance of this from a Catholic viewpoint was chilling. Catholics view Mary, since she is the Mother of God, as having the role of the Queen Mother. As such, she would be seated at the right hand of the King (G_D). Since a King holds his staff in his right hand, the Queen Mother would use her left hand to restrain the judgment of the King. For these statues of Mary to lose their left hands all during the same period could be interpreted as Mary having withdrawn her hand restraining the judgment of the King. One of the ramifications of this withdrawal is the growing amount of violence within families.
As for the number of popes, that's the Prophecy of Malachi. This isn't any kind of official prophecy; it's considered a private revelation and thus subject to all the fallibilities that humans are subjected to. The present pope is #111, "The Glory of the Olives". There is one more entry in the list, but as someone recently pointed out to me, "Peter the Roman" is not given a number as the other popes are; he's only noted as someone "who will feed the flock among many tribulations," during the "final persecution". The way it's written leads many people to believe that there are any number of popes between the present pope and the final pope. It's also possible that "Peter the Roman" is not a pope but an administrator. It would not be unheard of for the Throne of Peter to be vacant for a number of years; and situations may arise that will prevent the quick election of a new pope.
Nancy Pelosi was part of a Congressional group that traveled to Europe. At that level (and when you're Catholic), when you're in Rome you meet the Pope. Pelosi wanted a nice photo op with the Pope with smiles all around, but it was not to be. It was a private meeting -- no cameras, no reporters. We don't know exactly what was said, only that the versions presented by Pelosi's press officer and the Vatican press office were, shall we say, disparate.
Congrats on your friend graduating from the seminary! Do you know when his ordination ceremony will be held?

the vessel with the pestle
Christine, I am so sorry that I missed your post/question. It has been pop-in/pop-out for the past week or so and now my email is down again. I have more trouble with it and seems (by Google's report) that I had over 200 spam messages in less than 8 hours so it was closed. Fears of my machine being used as a bot bat. They better not mess with my puter. I will sic Jim Carroll on to them, that is when he gets his daughter's laptop fixed. I know he will because God gave him so many extra little grey cells that he will hit on the right thing and it will all be healed. In the mean time, I am praying for him, daughter and the puter.
Now, Christine *I keep typing Christian* for your question: I don't think the book is about pilots but you know how meticulous pilots are and seems the first pilot and DH are much alike. He is enjoying the book so far. There are questions he has and I have asked him to write them down, then we will find the answers together in the Word of God. I haven't been able to get much further than the first part of the book so far. Like the introduction or something like it. One of the reasons he is focusing on this book is because he wants to get it returned as soon as possible. That is just the way my DH is.
But, my suggestion to you, pray and ask God to lead you in what resource would help get the garden in his heart plowed and planted. I had been praying for a long time that God put the right tools in DH's path in order to get the seeds planted for his salvation. I had just about given up and ready to rub olive oil all over DH just so I couldn't catch him, then his friend shows up with this book.
And CHRISTINE, I was healed of Sciatic Nerve neuropathy on July 7, 1990 in the Methodist Parsonage after a wonderful prayer meeting. Those crazy Methodist laid hands on me, prayed, asked the Holy Spirit to bring the promised healing that Jesus stripes had earned for all of us, and I went back home that night totally healed. God does the miraculous so beautifully.
I will be praying for you too.
Thuunda, I am doing all of those things and praising God for an election in your country going well. Don't give up my friend; keep praying for those leaders and believing God for the deliverance from all evil.
I will be praying for your country too when I pray for Mr. Obama.
Shalom,
Grany

THE BAT,
The Vessel with the Pestle or the Castle with brew that is true still gets my vote as pretty funny. I loved it and it brought back times that were happier by far.
Thanks for sharing that with us.
Grany
Are we having a dance contest?
Here's mine
That was my delete...I checked the link and a less-than-appropriate ad came up first, over the video I wanted to share.
It's still worth a look, though. I'm thinking this is what our dear Grany (DG) must be like ;-)
See "her" at http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2525847/great_salsa_dancing_by_senior_lady/
That didn't work well either.
You can find the video if you google 'salsa senior lady'. Be sure to watch the whole thing!
Now that's spunk :-)
My Favorite Movie!!!!!!
Okay, it's my second favorite! My favorite is YOu Can't Take it with YOu, with James Stewart. But the Court Jester is fantastic! Johns is brilliant, and Angela Lansbury is gorgeous.
You know I read somewhere that Basil Rathbone and Danny Kaye were given doubles for the dueling scene. Danny Kaye refused the double and took fencing lessons and did his own stunts.
That man was extremely talented.
Get it, got it, good!
When I was a lad I was gloomy and sad and I was from the day I was born...

To whom do I sing, to whom?
I live for a laugh, I die for a kiss... HA!
Grany Thank you for your advice and your prayers! It's good to feel them coming over the air waves!
Jim.Carroll, That is eerie with the left hands disappearing. It is strange that happened right along with all of this evil increasing on the earth! It really gives you something to think about! My friends graduation is in Lowell Ohio on May 31st. I haven't heard from him yet what he will be doing afterward.
Thuunda, it is so cool that you are from Africa! I have friends in Ghana in the refugee camp. I know that is a good ways from where you are. They are taking care of orphans and feeding them 1 bowl of rice to 2 children. It broke my heart to know this is their situation and they are asking for Bibles. I bought 2 boxes of Bibles to send, then found out it would cost over $500 a box to send them! I am trying to get in touch with some larger churches in the area to see if someone can help. Help me pray that the Lord will send somebody.
OK. You want a dance? I found this broom dance. Not the one I've seen, but good none the less.click here The one I've seen usually starts with a group of dancers, one woman with a broom, every time the caller blows a whistle, the woman with the broom drops it,and everyone changes partners. The one left out without a partner has to be the next one to dance with the broom! It is so funny to watch the ladies knocking the men off their feet to try and not be the next one with the broom!
Ok. Favorite Movies, "One Night with The King" and "August Rush". I also love the movie with Michael Douglas called "The Game." It kept you guessing up until the end, then had a surprise ending! August Rush is on demand on cable right now for free. My husband and I watch it over and over again! I guess I love it because I love kids, and I love music!
Well, I sure wish I could still dance like that but the truth of the matter, I move a lot slower now than I ever have. But I sure wish I could.
I hope we can dance for joy when we come face to face with Jesus on that great Getting UP morning! But one thing I will tell you, I could really do the jiggerbug in great style when I was younger and my mother and aunt Ona were champion Charleston Girls. They won prizes everywhere they competed and even when my auntie was was past 85 she was doing that dance up royal. One of the reasons she lived way past 90 years young.
I often wonder what King David looked like when he was jumping and leaping dancing before the Lord. Must have been horrid to make his wife so angry with him. I never had that affect on DH but we used to love waltzing and fast swing. Felt good too!
Anyway, I can hear the hoots starting in "sin, disgrace, hussy, etc". King David was too but it pleased the Lord.
I love you all and just think of the scope of miles and continents we all represent and we are joined together in the Love of God by His Son, our Savior and soon coming King, Jesus Christ. Oh, Holy Spirit tell him of our great love and that we increase daily and by the second in our capacity to love even more on our Abba.

I really enjoyed the boogie dance! My husband watched it with me and said it would make you tired just watching it! Here is a dance that is popular around here. I want to learn it, but won't be until I am healed! click here
All this dancing is making me want to dance...think I will for my exercise tomorrow.
Favorite movie...without a doubt "For Rosanna". The only people I know who have ever heard of it are those who have learned of it from me. When I live in Christchurch, New Zealand it was showing and I dragged 5 people to see it 5 different times, paying their ticket! When I returned to the States I bought the video, and now I no longer have a video player. :( Warning, it is black humor and has one brief pg-13 scene (between married people, no nudity and it's humorous). But, it is the most wonderful love story of a man for his wife that I've ever seen. You will experience (nearly) every emotion possible.
Have I gone on long enough??
Grany! You said your mother was a Charleston girl! That wouldn't be Charleston SC would it? I live in Greenville area! My husband asked me to marry him in Charleston!
Well, the BIble clearly says that Jesus sits at the right hand of GOd's throne. So I have no clue why the RCC would teach that Mary does.
Seems that they teach lots of things based on their own traditions rather than the word of God.
I can speak from experience being raised RCC...coming from and Italian and Irish background.
Us Italians had no choice in the matter back when I was a kid....we had to be Catholic..or would go to hell.
Some RC's just accept whatever the RCC teaches... regardless of what the Bible clearly says in black and white... which has always puzzled me.
I personally prefer to believe what the Bible teaches...espec when the teaching is so clear.

bat, I laughed out loud for most of the vessel with the pestle!
Say, do you think this is where O'Reilly learned the word popinjay?
G'night, all. Hard day tomorrow and it's past my bedtime. Donna, I'm saying a special prayer for you tonight.
Hi Donna,
yes, that's what the "polls" say - 86% percent "Christian". But we have the most liberal constitution in the netire world, abortion on demand is legal, crime is rampant, government is all crooked etc. Don't sound much like a Christian nation. Having said that though, there ARE many many Christians here (but definintely not 86% of the population).
Christine,
yes, Ghana is a long ways from South Africa, but there are many, many Ghanaians living and working in South Africa. They are wonderful people - different - very kind, gentle and friendly. Some of my friends are from Ghana. As far as I can gather, Ghana is very Christianised.
Grany,
once again, thanks for your prayers. We need it as much as you and your country does. I will do likewise.
Anybody seen this song performed before? It's the song "Hallelujah" which is performed beautifully, but is the words a mockery of King David?
Hallelujah
Oops, here's the Direct link:

Donna, the bit about Mary is not a teaching (i.e., an article of faith), like the teaching that the Great Commission requires baptism in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. It's using an earthly example to explain the roles and relationships that exist in heaven.
Besides, the Queen Mother sat to the right of her Son. In this case, Jesus would be to the right of the Father and Mary would be to the right of Jesus.
(Sounds like Thanksgiving dinner at my house when I was growing up with seven brothers and sisters and a number of cousins. So if we can figure out where the Apostles are going to sit and find all the good glasses, then we can finally sit down to dinner.)

Christine,
I fly into Greenville,SC to see my mom who lives in Belton SC which is next to Anderson.I'll probably be back there around August.
If you contact Heaven's Family or Orphan's Tear they might know a way to get those Bibles to your friend one way or another. It never hurts to ask anyway. Heaven's Family
Oh, this is really weird.
Jim C. you got me thinking back to that "left handed" Mary Statue & our old discussion on it. Then I was wondering what significance would be if her "right hands" fell off. Then-I thought about what if a bunch of heads were found missing.
It didn't take me long w/Google to find one Vandal decapitates church Virgin Mary statue.SANTA MONICA, Calif.
- A vandal beheaded the Virgin Mary statue outside a Santa Monica church where Gov. Arnold Schwarzegger is among worshippers.
**The feet and hands were cut off the statue in 2002. There were no arrests for that crime.
Oh-they are beheading Christ statues as well Jesus statue beheaded
New post is up.
Christine, you live in the same town as Uncle Bob... he wrote Unlocking God's Secrets.
