It wasn't very long ago when we had our concerns about Saddam.
Today, my son was cleaning behind his dresser and pulled out an old newspaper dated Dec. 30th 1990 with the headlines for the year.
There was a pix of Saddam with a British boy that Saddam said was a guest. The boy was a hostage.
It makes me wonder what ever happened to that boy?

I'm also so glad to hear that the family is aware of how utterly dangerous sugar & protein is for a surviving cancer patient (or anyone for that matter) I wish they could get the dr's to do something else.

Here's an explanation from one of the guys at the OL as to why the links sometimes go awry:
If your address between the quotes is too long, whenever you paste it into the posting window, the window will automatically WORD WRAP the text in order to fit the text into the column width. This can break the link because it adds spaces to the code when word wrapping. And broken code does not work. Most of time broken code appears in the posting, when the code itself should be hidden from the actual post. You have to watch for this word wrapping, and remember to remove any extra spaces in the entire code, or it won't work.
Another trick is to go to TinyURL and get a shorter address:

Hi All, I have been trying ti keep up with the blogs. I have noticed that not too many people are posting over at Joels? Is something going on over there? And it seems like things have slowed down in the cave too? Am I missing something? Is everyone going somewhere else?
I've read the prayer requests and pray that God's will be done in all cases.
Lot's of good stuff was being posted. I guess everyone is reading the recommended books.
Anyway, it has been stuff for good conversation starters.

Well, it has been a few days and I haven’t mentioned anything about Nephilim or fallen angels etc. So…it is about time I started up the conversation again.
I bring this topic up again because I ran across something last night that really made me think that there is definitely something to this.
There is a guy I work with that I witness to often. I also consider him to be a good friend. I will call him Ralph (not his real name). In addition to witnessing to him, we also have really long discussions (often it turns into a lively debate) about evolution versus creation, politics, the Middle East, end times prophecy, various religious issues, etc. He says he believes there is a God or some supreme being that is responsible in some way (maybe through evolution) for creating us. That is as far as his belief in God goes. He is a really tough nut to crack, but I am stubborn as a mule and I am not giving up.
Ralph has lived a really interesting life. He was brought up as a child in a strict Catholic home and he attended Catholic school for 8 years. He is now in his early 50’s. Ralph has done a lot of things in his life including racing top fuel dragsters, which, as most people know, is a very dangerous sport. During our many conversations, he has related to me all the different times he almost died in car crashes etc. during his life. One near death incident was when he was six and nearly drowned in a lake. He was sinking down to the bottom and his mother could not reach him. It was on a Sunday and out of no where a stranger wearing a suit (maybe walking home from a Sunday church service) dove into the water and pulled him out. The stranger then disappeared (by this I mean they didn’t see where he went, not that he vanished into thin air). His mother never saw the stranger again and never figured out who he was. I personally think it was an angel.
It seems to me that Ralph’s guardian angel (I think the Bible says we have at least one guardian angel each) has been protecting him all his life. By all accounts, he should be dead many times over. I can’t help but wonder if God is keeping him alive to meet me, so I can help lead him to salvation. I have told Ralph as much on more than one occasion.
You are probably wondering how this all relates to Nephilim etc. A couple of weeks ago, I was telling Ralph about some of the wild things I had been reading about aliens etc. (maybe not the best thing to discuss with a person you are witnessing to, but we talk about all kinds of things) and he said that when he was about 5 years old he had an incredibly vivid dream that a UFO was chasing him down the street. He wonders sometimes if he was abducted.
In the same conversation, Ralph mentioned a book he had read a few years ago called “Communion: A True Story” by Whitley Strieber. It was written back in 1988. The author of the book claims that it is the true story of his abduction by aliens.
I decided to look the book up on amazon.com and read some of the reviews people had written on the book. The one review only gave the book a 1 out of 5 stars and it really jumped out at me. This is the review:
“Mr. Strieber's experiences are just one more proof that satanic and alien encounters are undoubtedly connected. My former background in occultic dabblings resulted in pretty much similar experiences. If you think this book is evidence of beings from other worlds, evidence of "Grays" and other alien races, I warn; don't be deceived! There is only one source and it's definitely demonic.
From my many years of research, having read the UFO literature for decades, along with occult material. And having personally experienced numerous supernatural attacks from the evil side of the spirit realm, I know from whence I speak. It's all a part of Satan's plan to lead this world into great deception before its doom. Think I'm a fanatical Christian? Remember I've studied and lived all of this. Have you? Funny how so many consider Satan a character of myth and fantasy, but are perfectly willing to blindly accept a belief in beings visiting us from other worlds, and the supernatural events that accompany them. Though I do believe God created other inhabited worlds in His vast universe, the Bible only mentions one as ever having fallen under the spell of sin. None but our very own planet earth. Unfallen worlds would not be capable of the cruel and frightening experiments, so prominent in the world of "alien close encounters".”

This review really caught my attention because this reviewer seems to share my current views on what all these “encounters” are about, only he appears to have actual first hand knowledge about the subject (demonic attack and occult dabblings).
I was intrigued enough to read some of his other reviews of books etc. (he made 271 in all) on amazon. From his numerous reviews of books and movies (many of them religious) that I read, he appears to be a very well read, very intelligent, really well grounded Christian. I would take anything he said seriously.
As a side note about Nephilim, demons, etc. I ran across a really interesting passage in a book I read recently called, “Politics, Prophecy, and the Supernatural: The Coming Great Deception and the Lucifierian EndGame”.
The author says that he thinks there is a difference between fallen angels and demons. The following is from his book:
"What does the Numbers 13:32-33 account mean? Simply put, it refers to yet another manifestation of fallen angels and the woman of earth cohabitating together, the offspring resulting in demonic hybrids, or Nephilim. I must pause her and address the difference between fallen angels and demons.
Fallen angels are the angels that, along with Lucifer, rebelled against God. We are not sure when this happened, but the results were an ongoing war that even now is taking place. Demons, I believe, are the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim that were wiped out during the flood. In order for demons to manifest in this dimension, they must inhabit or possess someone or something."

The above theory of demons being the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim makes a lot of sense to me. I think he maybe correct.
Well, now I have Nephilim, aliens, demons, conspiracy theories etc. out of my system for awhile.

A stranger came by the other day with an offer that set me to thinking.
He wanted to buy the old barn that sits out by the highway.
I told him right off he was crazy.
He was a city type, you could tell by his clothes, his car,

He said he was driving by and saw that beautiful barn
sitting out in the tall grass and wanted to know if it was for sale.
I told him he had a funny idea of beauty.
Sure, it was a handsome building in its day.
But then, there's been a lot of winters pass with their snow and ice and howling wind.
The summer sun's beat down on that old barn till all the paint's gone,
and the wood has turned silver gray.
Now the old building leans a good deal, looking kind of tired.
Yet, that fellow called it beautiful.
That set me to thinking.
I walked out to the field and just stood there, gazing at that old barn.
The stranger said he planned to use the lumber to line the walls of his den
in a new country home he's building down the road.
He said you couldn't get paint that beautiful.
Only years of standing in the weather,
bearing the storms and scorching sun,
only that can produce beautiful barn wood.
It came to me then. We're a lot like that, you and I.
Only it's on the inside that the beauty grows with us.
Sure we turn silver gray too... and lean a bit more than
we did when we were young and full of sap.
But the Good Lord knows what He's doing.
And as the years pass He's busy using the hard weather of our lives,
the dry spells and the stormy seasons to do a job of beautifying
our souls that nothing else can produce.
And to think how often folks holler because they want life easy!
They took the old barn down today and hauled it away
to beautify a rich man's house.
And I reckon someday you and I'll be hauled off
to Heaven to take on whatever chores the Good Lord
has for us on the Great Sky Ranch.
And I suspect we'll be more beautiful
then for the seasons we've been through here...
and just maybe even add a bit of beauty to our Father's house.

I wanted to add a few thoughts that go hand in hand with the Hal Lindsey article. Just yesterday I was busy with my new obsession, reading the articles on Dr. Fruchtenbaum's site. I was perusing the one titled "How to Destroy the Jews". Provocative title, but basically he shows through Scripture how it's an impossible feat (unless God stops being God or is lying in the first place) and the bless/curse point was very clearly illustrated. He pointed out how not only are those who curse Israel cursed in turn, but also cursed in kind. That's the point I find most interesting as we wait to see what will happen to our nation now that our leaders have chosen to pursue the division of Israel. For example, Pharoah cursed the Jews by killing the firstborns and then had the same done to him at the end of the plagues. Several other examples are given, but basically, whatever is done against Israel will then be done against the curser. So that means our nation will suffer division and attacks from our enemies, if the pattern continues. Division can mean alot of things and I think we're already seeing the fruits of that ripening even now.
Another point I took from the teaching was the command to first present the gospel to the Jew and then to the Gentile. (Rom. 1:16) It's given in present tense, so the command continues today. I never considered that before and it caused a bit of bewilderment in me at first because I really don't have any interaction with any Jews in my current circle of contacts. But then the Spirit reminded me that I might not see any Jews in person, but I know of many from past associations (at the school where I taught, one of my former doctors, a neighbor from our old house, etc.) So I added those people specifically to my prayer list, right up there at the top with my prayers for the peace and salvation of Israel.
I have been praying for Israel in general for many months now, but kinda because I want to be part of the "blesser" group and because I know it is God's plan for them ultimately and I want to be contributing to God's will in the matter, but I never got a strong sense of what those prayers were really going to "look like". It's just like when I pray for protection for little children in abusive environments. I don't have a face to go with the prayer and I never know how those prayers are answered, but I keep offering them up in faith. I don't think I'm explaining that clearly, but hopefully it will make sense. Now that I have specific people to pray for, I have a renewed sense of purpose. I might not be able to witness to them myself, but at least I can pray for workers to cross their paths with the Good News.
Well, it's taken me an hour to write this and nap time is nearly over, so I'd better attend to my housework while I can! Have a great evening,

Hey Mac,
That really stirred me up! I spent 20 years on a farm and it was by far the best way to spend a childhood. My parents sold the land to a coal company when my brother and I flew the coop. I drove back to see the place one more time before they tore down the barn. It was one of the saddest days of my life. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't take some of the wood, or the doorknob or some other bit to keep as a reminder of that wonderful bit of my youth.

Planet x, nibiru,2012,ufo's all tied together. I remember seeing a christian site dedicated to all this some time ago but cannot find it again. The site compared alien abduction reports to demon activity, that convinced me that abductions are demon related. It is easy to get cought up in this stuff though, and loose track of what is important. It is good to be informed though,but not obsessed, it is not core doctrine.

I have a huge amount of reading and video watching I am try to get through right now, much of it on the North American Union and the coming World government. Grumpy was mentioning to me a couple of days ago about the Planet X etc. stuff that he had run across months ago, and totally disregarded at the time. However, he now thinks , as I do, there is something to it.
I am convinced that there is something to the 2012 stuff. So many people, particularly people involved in New Age religions are talking about it. In my mind, there is absolutely no way that Satan would let a huge opportunity like this to deceive millions of people pass him by. You can bet he has something planned. My question is will we still be here in 2012 to witness it? If I was a betting man, I would say no.
I totally agree with you that we should exercise caution will researching this stuff. It is not core doctrine. It is easy to get caught up in it and forget what is important. I have to keep reminding myself of that. I have to make sure that I do a lot of other core doctrine reading to balance it out. My mother always says that you need to do everything in moderation. :-)

I also liked mac's post about the old barn. I just drove back from my parents farm about a 1/2 hour ago. I grew up on that farm, as did my father, his father and his grand father, who built the house and barn in 1875.
My father is now 79 years old and he still farms full time. The old barn at the farm (there used to be two) is still partially there, but only part of the bottom floor is still standing. My parents still have a 45 foot tall windmill that pumps the water for the house. It is the only farm for many miles that still has a working windmill. I love the serenity of the farm and sometimes I wish I was a farmer instead of working in IT.

Geoff's church came into the hospital and had a praise session. Later, Geoff passed a few things that can only be explained as scar tissue, and did not have bleeding. He was asking for ice cream and ate it while standing. Beth was astounded. Anyway, please keep up the prayers, he is scheduled for exploratory on Tues.

WELL HALLELUJAH! I got healed today!
I am not kidding any of you in any way. I have had terrible pelvic pain and really to the place of it becoming disabling me from my usual chores. I had a real bad fall in 1999 while getting our new building prepared and cleaned for our Church. Well, really I managed to loose my footing on a asphalt tile flooring and this caused me to do the splits and slide about 10 feet into a solid brick wall. My pelvic area was badly torn and the force of the fall also dislocated my hip. I lost the use of my legs for a short while because of the muscle and torn ligaments. I have had horrible pain ever since then and there were times I couldn't even get my shoes on. Taking Aleve was one way of handling the pain but not very effective and not without side effects. I was told there was nothing I could do except live with it. I took the advice of my precious friend and fellow blogger, Marge and sought out acupuncture. I hadn't been to very many sessions because the man who was doing my treatments went home to see his family and never returned to practice.
I accepted an invitation to attend church services with my precious pastor and family in a little country church in our community and they came and got me. I had become unable to drive anymore due to the pain and spasms.
This morning after church was over and we were visiting my pastors wife came up to chat a bit and asked me how I was doing. I told her that I was hurting really bad and just wanted to go home to get some relief. She suggested that we go pray about it first and I agreed. She rounded up the others that were still lingering and we all went to the front of the church and they anointed my head with oil and started praying for me.
I am a very firm believer in the healing promises of God and I had prayed for myself repeatedly but I thought I was going to be this way forever. Well, I started feeling the power of God start from the top of my head like a warm drop of water, then it came right on down through my spine and the first thing I knew, it felt like bubbles and fizzing going all through my body. I had places that had hurt so bad just to the touch get so hot it brought sweat to my forehead. It is in the low 20's right now and the little church is not the warmest place after the furnace is set back.
It seemed as if every muscle, joint and nerve in my body started to get warm and then I moved my hip joint that I haven't been able to move for over 10 years, and all of a sudden, I knew it was healed. The pain totally left me and I felt the pressure leaving too.
I have to tell you, there was excitement in the air and God got all of the Glory, he so richly deserves. I want to shout it from the roof tops and I know I can get up there now to do it. I even got into a double cab Ford F-150 to come home in without any help. I haven't been able to do that for 10 years either.
So, yes, I was feeling puny! I went to the doctor on Friday and had all kinds of testing done and have to return on Wednesday for more scanning and x-rays but I am not the least bit worried about any of it. Wait until I tell my new doctor what happened to me.
Alesia, I got your email today and I realized that I hadn't been on the blog much since Friday. I read it and I think I sent out a couple of Emails but I just felt really bad and hurt so I did a lot of resting and heat therapy.
Thank you for the prayers and you all don't have any idea what your friendship and prayers mean to me but one day, at the cafe, you will. I love each and everyone of you.

You can't imagine my joy your healing, and in hearing that your pain has been taken away, Praise GOD!!! His power and mercy are without measure. The timing of your post had to be of God.
I have been in a downward spiral in my hope and faith, and today was a particularly bad day. Since about the age of 6 I've had to watch my little girl (ok Shannon's 17 now and doesn't think she's my little girl anymore but she's wrong!) suffer constant bone related pains. At 6 she was diagnosed with leg-calf pertes(sp?) which meant that the ball joint of her thigh bone was not solid but honeycombed, this left her in a wheelchair for 3 years..Seeing this active happy little girl in a wheel chair crushed me, but the Lord cured her. For the last 6 years she has had extreme pain in her left knee.. After many surgeries and procedures, she has just gotten out of a fixator (the halo with pins into the bones) she's had on for 4 months after the doctors broke both her tibia and fibula to realign her leg in order to "help" alleviate her pain. By God's grace the re-alignment succeeded, however she still has the knee pain and now the calf area of her leg is hyper-sensitive-meaning that anything that touches her leg hurts, even the sheets of her bed. I have prayed that God would let me bear her pain as any parent would, and have asked for His power and mercy to fall on my little girl. The doctors at pain management have made a couple of attempts to block the nerves going to her leg, but haven't found the right nerve yet, maybe soon.
But enought of the back story, Grany, your post has both blessed me and renewed both my hope and faith as I had forgotten that it is not my time table but the Lord's in ALL things. I'd actually forgotten how the Lord has already cured her hip, and one day He will take care of her left leg when He and she are ready.
Grany, I actually shouted for joy when I finished reading your post, followed by some pretty severe sobbing as God realigned my heart, and put my mind back on the right path.

I heard about a new book (I believe it's new, at least) by Max Lucado, called, 3:16, and I didn't catch the rest of the title :) But, it's all about only one road to Heaven, and it's based on mostly logic, (along with Scripture) to convince the unsaved, of there being only one way to God, thru Jesus Christ. I especially liked (an interview on Christian radio I heard today) his explaination, about the current teachings, that "all roads lead to Heaven." As he said, if you were in New Mexico (I forget the cites he used :) all roads wouldn't take you into Canada, etc. And he went on to explain, that it isn't "narrow thinking" on Christian's part, but just the plain truth. Anyhow, I plan to get several copies, and give to a few of my friends, that haven' yet made Jesus the Savior and Lord of their life. Of course, I do plan on reading it first, so if they have any questions, I'll be familiar with the entire content of the book. At any rate, I was excited about hearing about it, along with Grany's healing!

I had a healing of sorts in my house as well this weekend.
My beloved 17 yr. old cat has been in bad shape since the summer, with heart disease & asthma. I thought I was losing her Fri. night, witnessing her last breaths. Crying hysterically, I made one of my most heartfelt prayers for God's Mercy to either heal her or let her go quickly, as I couldn't take seeing her that way. I put her in bed with me, convinced she'd be gone by the morning.
Yesterday she was breathing somewhat better, but I kept on a praying & praising God.
Today, she is doing fantastic! I walked into the kitchen & caught her on the table - I have NEVER seen her on the table! She's been roaming around the house, yelling up a storm! Thank you Lord!!!
So, needless to say, it's been an emotional weekend with sorrow, then joy & sheer gratitude. AND the awesome experience of witnessing our Lord's Mercy & Will at work!

GOOD NEWS: Blood work good and cancer markers down
BAD NEWS: The colon is bad which we knew but also covered with many small tumors.
The Dr.'s don't know for sure what is happening until they get inside?? They will call me tomorrow after they know more. Beth's neice and nephew are also on the way. Beth is a mess! She couldn't even talk so Ann-Marie called. Bob & I are hurting to see our friends in such pain but our solace is God is in charge. We are taught to only believe a good report so praise the Lord the blood is good and cancer markers are
down. Our joy is in the Lord.
Again thankyou for being such prayer warriors but our job continues.

Thank you for sharing your healing with us. It does build faith and hope. It makes me realize that God knew what he was doing when he told me to pray for you. I've been a Christian for longer than I can remember, but still have difficulty recognizing that still small voice. WOW! Alesia your kitty cat has been blessed and I know what you mean by not wanting to be too far away from them when they are ill or hurt.
I guess that is just like Our God. He doesn't want to get away from any of us and his desire is just as great for us to be in perfect health as we live out our lives here on earth. Just like Alesia was right there for her kitty cat and TexanforChrist (Mike) for his precious daughter Shannon, God is waiting for us to call out to him to deliver on His Promises through Jesus Christ. He feels our pain and heartaches, that is where that statement just came alive inside of me "Greater is HE WHO IS IN ME, than he (satan) who is in the World". HE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE GREATER THAN ALL CREATION!
John thank you for those beautiful verses and I am copying them down along with the others that you posted because they are Holy Spirit inspired. Marge, that book of Max Lucado is fantastic and a very good choice in witnessing. But you hit the nail on the head when you said there is greater power in united, and when we come together in faith believing that He will fulfill his Word and promises and agree together on it, then he can move.
I have to tell you all something that I don't tell everyone. Yeah, and here I am telling it on the internet. But I don't ask just anyone to pray with me about things. You see, God has stated clearly in his word that we is, we are, we were and so be it healed. Now the hard part, as far as I am concerned, is getting everyone to agree that the healing is promised and God is not a liar because he is not man. But you see, some people put a limit on what God can and can't do. Or will or won't do. They get their ownselves involved in the equation and then doubts come in. Faith is the things HOPED FOR AND THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN. It doesn't take faith to see defeat, disease, war, hatred, on and on. But it does take faith to see the sick healed/saved, victory in the face of defeat, peace and love living together in harmony as a common thing. The world tells us that we are going to hell in a leaky bucket and there is nothing we can do about it. The Word tells us that God will win out and we will walk on streets of Gold and live in an atmosphere of pure love and peace. That we can love one another and we can overcome all of the products of Satan. We live in two worlds, in the flesh and in the Spirit.
Oh, you don't want to get me started cause I am feeling fine and I feel a dance coming on. Break dancing at its' most glorious.
Lori and I have been closet dancers but we are about to break loose and make the floors bounce.
I am praying and believing for Geoff, for Shannon and her daddy, for all of us to be 120% all and I mean all, that the Lord would have us to be. Greater things than he did because He is at the right hand of God ever interceding for us all. We are not giving up any territory that Christ won for all of mankind, we are going to take back what the enemy has destroyed and give the Glory to the Lord.

Jesus said in the Great Commission in Mark 16:17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name . . . they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover." It goes on to say in verse 20 "And they went and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs."
In the four Gospels, there are 19 different cases of healing recorded. Three of these were as a result of Jesus casting out a demon.
In 13 of the remaining 16 times, Jesus either said or implied that it was the person's own faith that resulted in their healing.
Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by repeatedly hearing the Word of God.
It has been my belief for some time that the Church needs to provide a “platform” where the Word, particularly on healing, will go forth and faith for healing may be developed and strengthened. This will enable the Lord to confirm His Word with signs following in the form of manifestations of healing.
We are beginning to see this taking place - witness Grany's healing. I believe that we should expect this type of supernatural intervention to become commonplace amongst those who believe and are of like mind - the key will be found in the unity of the believers - as is constantly recorded in Acts - wherever the Church was in one accord, great signs and wonders were manifest.

I liked that "Lighthouse" video.Didn't take long for me to catch on once I saw the evil forces come.
"Spiritual Maturity" has been the focus of our Pastor for "08." Particularly for the Church I go to here in TN.
There was an analogy given yesterday of how Satan operates. He used the example of Moses and the Pharoah.How Pharoah finally broke down and started to try and make "Deals" with Moses.
ie: Ok you and some men can go but everthing else stays within my kingdom/power.
Ok you and you family can go but you can't go too far.
Ok you and your family can go three days journey but the cattle and sheep have to stay.
(I don't think I have all the details exactly correct/order but you get the idea)
The point is that Moses would not give in but that Satan will always see how much of us he can control.
We may be saved and he's lost us but he doesn't want us to influence anyone elce.
We may be at a particular Spiritual Maturity level but he doesn't want us to reach higher ground.
OK- I've got the point. Personally, I think I'm reaching for higher ground at this time but I've been at stagnent points in my life so it hits home.
Now, I watch the Web version of my former Pastor's service in CA and his style is a little different but he's also touching on the "Spiritual Maturity" topic.
Pastor Ray makes a point of stating that he's really seeing "The signs of the times." How important "Spiritual Maturity" is and that he of course doesn't know when but feels some believers are going to be called for a special spiritual purpose.
(Now my mind zooms right to the War of Gog & Magog.Not surprising since I've been reading "The Silence is Broken!" by Douglas Berner and it's almost TMI-(Too much information)for me-but great detail on that subject.)
When in Ezekiel 38 it says to the Son of man, set your face against Gog, and prophesy against him.
If this happens in our lifetime-which it is certainly looking like-aren't we the Son of man that God is speaking to? God makes a strong statement and stresses it more that once.
If the Church is gone too soon before this event then who would be the Son of men that would do this Prophesy? The people left are probably clueless to what is really happening.
(Maybe the "Earthquake" ressurection touches on this-I didn't read it)

Where do I go to get a new battery for this body so I can get everything done that I want to and have to finish? I took a lunch break and almost fell asleep at the table. But it feels so great just being able to move freely and when I want to. I got up this morning and am still amazed that there isn't any pain and no muscle weakness either. Hey, God does the best remodeling job in the whole world. I highly recommend Him for everything.
I have been reading all of the comments and Alesia's question about God above all gods and I am composing an answer. But it will be later this evening.

Thank you. I have found that taking prayers out of the Bible (such as Paul's in Ephesians) and personalizing them, is a great way to both get scripture into my heart and to know that I WILL get an answer from God about improving my spiritual walk.
My wife and I use those prayers both for ourselves and for our sons. Consistently praying them DOES get results.

The following is the verse you quoted part of:
Daniel 11:36
36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
As you said, this verse is speaking about the Antichrist. The verse is saying that the Antichrist will exalt himself above every other god of every other religion (Allah, Budda, whatever other false god various religions worship) including the one true God whom this verse refers to as the "God of gods."

From what I have read, the "son of man" in Ezekiel 38 and through out the entire book of Ezekiel means "son of Adam". God is talking to Ezekiel here and calling him "son of Adam". God is telling Ezekiel (son of Adam) to speak about and/or record what God is saying against Gog.

I'd like to share a miracle I've experienced this week that has really has my head spinning!
I haven't mentioned too much about myself on this blog, but I am rather heavyset and have been experiencing a lot of related health problems recently. I was diagnosed with type II diabetes around 2 years ago, and have on medication since then.
I have found it extremely difficult to diet since I've had the medicine, and have also had several incidents of "getting the shakes" if I've gone too late for a meal, such as lunch. (This is very unpleasant - shaking limbs, profuse sweating, and really strong anxious feeling) Basically no chance to skip the occasional meal to help control the weight issue.
I broke down and decided to contact a bariatric weight-loss center to consider either gastric bypass or a adjustable lap-band. Both of these surgeries are very extreme and have extreme consequences.
I have been suffering quite a bit of mental anguish over this for the two months: Should I or shouldn't I have the surgery? If I do, which? the bypass, or the band? I've been praying furiously for some sort of guidance regarding this large decision.
The weight loss center scheduled me for a consultation that basically took all day last Wednesday. I spoke to counselor, a dietitian, a physician's assistant, and the surgeon himself.
I sort of decided to pursue the bypass approach, and when discussing things with the surgeon, I was told that I would need to loose 25lbs before they could perform surgery on me. I was also told that I had a better chance of putting my diabetes into remission with that surgery. The reason for the 25lbs is that apparently, the liver is the first body organ to gain/lose weight, and if they can shrink it, it provides the surgeon with much more room to work.
I discussed with the doctor the option of "crash dieting" since I've been really antsy to get some relief. He told me to make sure to stop taking my diabetes medication before trying this, but monitor my sugar levels to see how my body reacted.
At first, I tried to go down to 2-3 ounces of chicken and water only, but after a day and a half found that I couldn't handle that due to excessive hunger, I modified my diet to what I discussed with dietitian stated I would need to eat AFTER the surgery, basically low-carb, low-fat, protein and have reduced my portion size. eating VERY slowly.
THE MIRACLE PART....
After 6 days, without diabetes medication, my blood sugar is BETTER than when I was medicated, while eating higher carb foods!!!!! I have been having an average of 109, with the highest spike being 136, and a low of 97!!! My diabetes is basically in remission (assuming that I continue to eat low-carb)
PRAISE GOD!!!!!
Not only has the sugar stabilized, but I've already lost water weight, allowing me more flexibility in doing things such as tying shoes. I've also noticed a significant reduction in my shortness of breath!!!
Remember only 6 days!!!!!
Hopefully, I can keep losing weight and inches, so that my other related health maladies go away. If things keep going the way I think they are, I won't need to have the surgery!! What a way to get an answer to prayer!!!

Listen to your dietician - small meals eaten slowly, drink plenty of water and don't ever skip breakfast! I occasionaly get the shakes if I train hard and don't eat correctly.

Boy, that is a miracle and I am happy for you. Would you say without reservations that God is on the move and with his Children first? I know this isn't the most pleasing advice you are going to receive but don't forget to do some form of exercise along with the dieting. Just walking a block or two is a great start and you can add as you go but at least keep the blood circulating every day.
My husband's blood sugar was very high and we have brought it down by diet and exercise to a very good and stable level of 97. Jim isn't overweight but the walking is giving him a stable level and his shakes are subsiding now. You can do it and God is more than willing to wade right in and help you all of the way.
You know I am praying for you in this and I know you will be fine.

Alesia, Harold beat me to the answer. But remember that in the Ten Commandments God told the Isrelites that they were to have no other gods before Him. Anything we hold in higher esteem than God becomes a form of god or idol if we aren't careful. I remember when I was dating my husband and I would skip church if he was going to come see me on Sunday. One day I remember the Lord really addressed the issue and from then on it was God first, Jim second. I still loved him but he just had to know where and what I believed and served.
The antichrist will have no tolerance to anything or anybody that supersedes him. I am so glad I won't be here then.

I have read some stuff by John F. Walvoord. I read his "Armageddon, Oil and Terror" book recently. The book was originally published in 1974 and then updated in 1990 by John. The edition I read was updated again in 2007 by his son John E. Walvoord with Mark Hitchcock. As you mentioned, John F. Walvoord is no longer with us, so he couldn't update his own book.
I liked the book and I thought it contained a lot of good information. It reminded me a lot of Epicenter. However, like every book I read I did not agree with everything in it.
I think the thing I disagreed with most was John's view that the battle of Gog and Magog was going to occur at the halfway point of the 7 year tribulation period when the Antichrist sets up the Abomination that makes Desolation and really starts to persecute the Jews and Christians.
I know there are several End Times scholars who share this view, but it makes no sense at all to me. It leaves you with the problem of the Jews having to burn the weapons left over from the battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel records that they are burned for 7 years) for the remaining 3 1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period when the Antichrist is chasing them into hiding and for a further 3 1/2 years during the 1000 year rule of Christ on earth. This seems very unlikely to me and makes no sense.
How would the Jews be able to burn these weapons when they are warned by Jesus in the Gospels not stop to pick-up anything when they see the Antichrist set up the Abomination that causes Desolation in the Temple? They are told to flee as fast as they can to the mountains and not to stop for anything. If they stopped to pick-up weapons to burn, the Antichrist would catch them and kill them.
The burning of the weapons during the remaining 3 1/2 years during the 1000 year Millennium period seems totally unnecessary to me. Why would they need to burn these weapons when Jesus sets up his kingdom? It doesn't fit.
The only explanation of the timing of the battle of Gog and Magog I have heard that makes any sense at all to me, is found in Douglas Berner's "The Silence is Broken".
Douglas thinks that the battle is going to take place about 3 1/2 years before the start of the 7 year tribulation period. This will give the Jews 3 1/2 years to burn the weapons before the 7 year tribulation period starts and 3 1/2 years into the tribulation, which takes you to the mid-point when the Antichrist sets up the Abomination that causes Desolation in the Temple and chases the Jews into the wilderness where they would no longer be able to burn the weapons anymore.
That would give them 7 years to burn the weapons, and 3 1/2 years for the Antichrist to rise to power after the battle of Gog and Magog. We know that the 7 year tribulation period starts with the Antichrist confirming a treaty with Israel for 7 years to signal start the 7 year tribulation period.
I also think that the rapture is going to occur at the same time as the battle of Gog and Magog, 3 1/2 years before the beginning of the 7 year tribulation period. I think the rapture and the battle will also be accompanied by a world wide earthquake as talked about in Ezekiel (discussed in "Earthquake Resurrection") that will cover up most of the evidence that we were raptured.
I think this opinion of the timing of the battle of Gog and Magog (3 1/2 years before the start of the 7 year tribulation period) is also shared by Tim Lahaye, Grant Jeffrey and Chuck Missler.
Well, that is my take on it anyways.

I was on Joel's blog site yesterday and I realized that I was way behind on my reading there. I don't have the time to read two blogs a day, as I have a ton of other reading and writing I am trying to get done.
I think I like hanging out a lot more at Hyde's cave anyways. It feels much more cozy hanging out here with my buddies. There isn't the distraction of party crashers.
So...if anything really interesting gets posted on Joel's that I should know about, can somebody please copy it over to Hyde's cave so I am not missing anything. I hate being out of the loop. :-)
Well, I have to go. A guy at work challenged me to prove to him that the rocks on this planet are only about 6000 years old and not 5 billion years old. It could take me a while to put together the research. Sighhhhhh. I need to get a personal assistant! :-)

I feel a burden for the anonymous lurkers at Joel's blog who do not have the sort of fellowship that is found here. I know there are lots of people who read, and are edified by, the comments there. The cave's a cozy place but we shouldn't forget Joel's and the people needing the interraction. There's a good deal more witnessing to be done before the Lord returns.

What are your thoughts on the mayan 2012 solar pole shift predictions, the rapture and gog and magog? There is less than 5 years for the mayan 2012 to occur. Is it possible for gog and magog to happen before then?
I feel that a solar pole shift affecting the earths magnetic field (possibly disrupting global power, creating chaos, could be an explanation for death and disappearance of so many people-rapture-) is very likely.
Do you think we could still be here for gog and magog?

Yes usually it's Jesus it refers to but in Ezekiel it's directly refering to Ezekiel at the time because he is writing the Book of Ezekiel. I got that part.
So since Ezekiel is also called "Son of Man" would we not also be considered the "Son of Man.?"
But-I was thinking more in terms of dual meanings. Obviously Ezekiel is no longer here on earth at the time this particular prophesy is actually going to be fulfilled.
People like Joel Rosenburg,Douglas Berner and others are publishing books and emphasizing the Gog Magog prophesy and spreading the word.
I personally speak of it to believers/unbelievers.
But as things progress with Russia/Iran & others - to the point that the Church says "Oh crap" here it comes-Do you think God would want his Saints to declare/reiterate this prophesy to all who will listen?"(or not listen for that matter)
The Gog & Magog situation is to declare God's glory to the world and let them know his eyes are now once again on Israel.
If the Bride of Christ made a Strong Statement re: what was to happen and then was "Taken away"-wouldn't that be a good thing?
Would the people who would make up the future Tribulation saints realize there must have really been something to following the Word of God and then scramble to get the information?
Or, as some suggest it's better hidden away in some vague fashion like the Church didn't agressively prophesy to the nations and just happened to all be casualities of the worldwide earthquake.
I don't know the answer. I'm just thinking out loud here but I'm leaning toward the 1st idea.

This whole 2012 thing is really interesting....I def want to find out more about that. So many things seem to point to that year.
One thing I've been thinking about and it probably has been examined...but...since things seem to happen on the same day (ie., the first and second temples were both torn down on the same day, hundreds of years apart) wouldn't it be likely that the Abomination of Desolation will happen on the same day as it did with Antiochus E? Which would be at the 3 1/2 yr Trib mark?

Just spoke wih Beth. They did not get good news. The cancer is all through his body - attached to liver, spleen and other organs.
The Dr.'s told them that they won't do the surgery. They know that if they tried to remove them off the organs that the risk is too great and most often leads to immediate death. This way he does have some time left but know that it also only a matter of time. The Dr. suggests they call in Hospice to be able to help her take care of him.
She was very down tonight, has cried all day. She said, "when I finally get a 'great husband' and now I'm going to lose him". She envisions losing her house as well. ??? Of course right now she is not thinking clear but we hope that wouldn't happen.
Soooooooooooo--bottom line.......we need a miracle!! And pray for her and the girls as well.

I too share Harold's view for the timing of the Ezekiel war and rapture based on at least two important books that have already been mentioned, but I think other prophecy scholars may be coming to this conclusion as well.

I think things are slowing down on this board and on Joel's because something is about to happen, and we're all trying to prepare ourselves for whatever it is.
This last spring and summer, I felt this "push" to start stockpiling. Now I'm just feeling the need to replace what I've used up, and just to wait and watch.
As for what's going to happen, something struck me in one of the news articles Mac linked to on Joel's blog. In the article on the Reserve Officers demanding Olmert's resignation, it mentioned that the Winograd report is due out on Jan. 30. In Zechariah 1:7ff, it describes the beginning of mercy for Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, starting on 24 Sh'vat, which this year is on Jan. 31. So maybe the beginning of mercy is the demise of Olmert.

I agree with you about it being important to post on Joel's site because of the unbelievers that maybe lurking there. I knew several people would point that out as soon as I posted that I liked hanging out here better.
However, I work with 90% or more non-believers everyday (the ones who say they are believers have a very different and much more liberal point of view on everything than I do) and I have to defend my beliefs constantly. It can get very draining some days, especially the days that it does feel like I am making any inroads. As my father always says, "Discouragement is the Devil's number one weapon."
It is nice to be in a place where I can speak freely without some anonymous person chirping in with something negative that causes arguments. I enjoy the fellowship here, as it feels a lot like my small group from church. I need that right now.
I find Joel's blog draining sometimes. Again, I think posting on Joel's blog is a valuable thing to do, as evangelism is the number one thing that Jesus commands us to do. I strongly encourage people to keep posting there. That being said, I don't personally feel the Spirit's call right now to post there.
Like many of you, I have posted a lot of things there over the last couple of years and I probably will again after taking a break to recharge in "the cave".
Has anyone ever seen the movie "The Cave" that was in the theaters a couple of years ago? It is campy B movie about underwater monsters killing a bunch of cave divers (scuba divers) in some caves in Romania. I only watched it because I know the guy (Wes Skiles) who shot most of the underwater video for it. I met him when I was used to be an avid Florida cave diver.

I have thought long and hard many times lately about how the date of December 21, 2012, the end of the Mayan and Aztec (as well as other cultures) calendars and the expectant return of the gods of many ancient cultures and the prediction of strange events on that date by many new age religions fits into the prophetic time line laid out in the Bible.
As you know, astronomers also speak about the significance of that date.
My personal current thoughts are that the battle of Gog and Magog and the rapture are going to already have occurred at that point. I think this date is significant in some way to the revealing of the Antichrist. I don't think we believers are going to still be one earth when the Antichrist is revealed, so that is why I think 2012 will occur after the rapture and Gog and Magog.
I think whatever happens in 2012, it will add to the cover story that Satan and his followers come up with to explain our absence. This maybe part of the powerful delusion that God says he is going to allow to come over the people left behind.
I think this event, could be as crazy as "aliens" making their presence suddenly know (as many new age cults expect)and saying they created us. I am just thinking out loud here, but it isn't out of the range of possibility.

Harold - I agree with you about the Rapture probably happening before 2012. After reading the nephilim book, that the nephilims were behind the egyptian & mayan cultures being so advanced. If they told the mayans that the calendar stops on that date & understanding that NO ONE knows the day/time of the rapture - they wouldn't know it either! So, something else must happen.
I also agree with you about Joel's at the moment. His blog seems "off" to me right now. I hope it improves soon as I agree with Mac, that we need to be witnessing there.

Yes, the flavored syrups for the coffee are fine, but now there's a problem where the water filter needs replacing. I'm not one to be overly picky, and the water here is fine (mostly), but something about it makes the coffee very bitter.
FWIW, when I was growing up, our water was so hard that we joked about having to use a nylon over the faucet to strain out the bigger pieces.

My question is the timing of that battle in relationship to the Rapture of the Church and the signing of the peace treaty between Israel and the Antichrist.
It states in Ezekiel 39: 21-22 that when God defeats the invading army, His People Israel will "know that I am the Lord their God." If this battle happens prior to the peace treaty with the Antichrist, why would Israel sign that treaty knowing what God had just done for them and His power to save them? Conversely, if the battle happens just after the signing of that treaty with the Antichrist, wouldn't the invasion by the this group of nations be a break in the treaty as the Antichrist will represent the world at that time?
A. I believe the order will be Rapture, then Ezekiel's Battle, and then the treaty that kicks off Daniel's 70th week. I say this because Ezekiel's Battle signifies that the Lord is going to be dealing with Israel in an obvious manner again, (Ezekiel 39:22) and I believe that Romans 11:25 and Acts 15:13-18 indicate that the church has to leave then. Also one of the components of the treaty with the anti-Christ is a new Temple, and Israel won't want a Temple until they recognize that God is with them. Then they'll demand one.
As for signing the treaty after the Lord has just won them a great victory, I think it'll be seen as a world leader acknowledging that fact and acting to help them. Isaiah 49:22-23 tells them that when they return to God, it will be Gentile Kings who'll be helping them.
Remember the anti-Christ appears first as a man of peace. It's not till the mid-point in the seven year treaty period that he'll offend them by proclaiming himself to be God. The fact that he'll do so in the Temple he helped them build is an indication that they will have accepted him as a great leader.

Also about the 2012 thing, History channel just had a program about all the people groups that have the same "prophecy" of 2012. Is it all just chance. I tend to think not, although I don't at all trust the sources of these "prophecies" like I do the Word of God. I tend to agree with you Harold, that we will not be here by 2012 by the way things look at this point (hope I am right!).

Praise the Lord that you are healed! I can relate to your pain and discomfort as I dislocated my hip 4 months ago and have had constant pain since then. Had an MRI scan last week and it picked up that I have torn cartilage in the socket. I am going in for an operation to repair the damage this afternoon so would covert some prayers. Will be out of action for a few days and will be at home so Mr. Hyde please post a new one soon, thanks.

John- thankyou for your Scripture. A long time ago you posted about personalizing the prayers in the Bible, and I have done that ever since, with great blessings.
gt- I also think all the 2012 prophecies, from the Hopi,Mayan,all the way to the pole shift, that line up with the Bible are more than a coincidence.Psalm 19:1-4 states that "The heavens declare the glory of God......night after night they display knowledge........their voice goes out into all the earth..." This indicates to me that even pagan societies who search the heavens can find knowledge of Gods plan. I could be wrong. It's just what struck me when I read this Psalm.
Texas Dave- congratualions on your success so far! If you don't mind I'll share with you what my kids call 'Moms Method' - eat only food that you know the calorie count-eat brown carbs [oatmeal, whole grain]green vegtables, white protien [chicken, tuna, white cheeze]-get a check register, deposit the amount of calories equal to the weight you want to be [200 lbs=2000 cal.]and subtract as you 'spend' your deposit. eat a small amt. every two hrs. This method has worked for everything from weight to blood sugar. It takes a week or so to get into the routine. I'm adding you to the 'cave prayer list'

In these days of trouble, with stock market crashes and increasing natural disasters, together with all the threatening talk coming from Russia and NATO about pre-emptive nuclear strikes, you should read and try to visualize the following:
God's Provision for Israel in the Wilderness
After they left Egypt, Moses and the Children of Israel were in the desert for 40 years, but what was God going to do with them?They had to be fed, and feeding 2 or 3 million people requires a lot of food (and water).
According to the Quartermaster General of the US Army, it is reported that Moses would have needed 1500 tons of food each day!
Do you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains, each a mile long, would be required! Besides, you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would need firewood to cook the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long, just for one day. And just think, they were 40 years in transit!
And, oh yes! They would need water. If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 (yes 11 million) gallons each day, and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles long, just to bring the water to them!
Then another thing! They were to get across the Red Sea at night (in one night). Now, if they went on a narrow path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long, and would require 35 days and nights to get through. So, there had to be space in the Red Sea 3 miles wide, so that they could walk 5000 abreast, in order to all cross over in one night.
But then, there is another problem. Each time they camped at the end of the day, a campground two-thirds the size of the state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles ... think of it! This space was just for nightly camping. Do you think Moses figured all this out before he left Egypt? I think not! You see, Moses believed God. God took care of these things for him supernaturally...
Now, do you think God has any problems taking care of all your needs?
As Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:19.... "And my God shall supply ALL your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
God is our source - not our jobs, pensions, investments, inheritances...

NATE LEWIS, you are absolutely right in telling us we are needed at Joel's and I can testify that many Anonymous posters and those who do not say a word at Joel's need all of us there. This is the time for us all to be about our Father's business and sharing and caring are major contributions that we can make for him.
My biggest problem with the conflicts is the stupidity of some people and the constant false accusations that they feel so free to fling out there in cyberspace. So, I will pray before I say and maybe I can conquer my dislike.
GRUMPY, I am praying for you because I know these times are very difficult on the nerves, and the hopes. Just remember, you are blood bought and He will always take excellent care of you and all that is yours. We all know that this wild spending splurge had to end sometime and someway. This will probably be that sometime and time will tell if the lesson is taken seriously or not.

I was so blessed when I found a little time to catch up here today, and read of the touch of God's hand on his children.
Wilma, praise God for your healing...you are a blessing to so many, it makes me so happy to know you are without pain now. I have been involved in laying on of hands at our church, and have seen some answered prayer, and healings. It always thrills me to the core.
I too have been praying for God to touch Geoff and completely heal him. We know nothing is too difficult for Him to do.
Thank you all for the time you take to share, you touch more lives than you know!
