Second Advent - John Milton
Come forth out of Thy royal chamber, O Prince of all the kings of the earth; put on thy visible robes of Thy imperial majesty; take up that unlimited sceptre which thy Almighty Father hath bequeathed Thee. For now the voice of thy bride calls Thee, and all creatures sigh to be renewed.

Obituary:
American Democracy, born on July 4 1776, died November 4, 2008 due to greed, apathy, ignorance and unrepentant sin in the hearts and minds of the majority of American voters.
America lived independently after claiming liberty from England in 1776 and has had a good run. It has not been all fun and games as her people went thru dark periods of history including the most recent elections.
Birth Announcements:
Socialism was born today, Nov 4 2008 in the "Untied" States of America. Socialism came into this land with a slap and a loud cry from the God fearing, freedom loving people who dwell in her once safe borders.
Commentary:
Pray, tell everyone you know about Jesus, he's coming back soon.
I am sad. At the same time, though, everytime I prayed today for John McCain to win, I felt peace in my soul. Every other time I've felt that type of peace, I've come to realize it was G_D telling me that times will be hard, but I will never be alone.

Proverbs 21:1 - "The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes."
We know Who is still in control...
I HIGHLY doubt this will happen but the thought occurred to me today...
What if after an Obama win, it was discovered and a court in fact ruled that he was not born in the United States? That would be an interesting Constitutional problem.
The Dems might argue that Joe Biden would step in under the same Constitutional provisions and laws that currently govern Presidential succession.
But Republicans might simply argue that the Presidential candidate with the most votes who was also legally eligible to be President on January 20, 2009 should be the President elect.
Can the electoral college (when they meet) validly elect a person who is not eligible to be President of the United States? Who would the appropriate electors in the electoral college even be? Maybe the McCain electors have standing to sue to have BHO produce a valid birth certificate or other proof that he is eligible to be President.
OK, maybe not a topic for the cave but I thought it was an interesting (perhaps frightening) thought. People on both sides would come unglued I think.
Should I delete this so they don't lock me up for raising the question???
"Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."
Jesus words replay in my mind right now over and over.
I really feel that people in our country have no clue about what they are doing or what is in store for our nation. It is incredibly sad, can you imagine how sad it makes our Father in Heaven?
"Forgive them Father for they know not what they do"
I pray with all my heart that He shows us what to do in these days ahead for Him and His Glory.
And of course, I pray earnestly, that those days are not many.

Hey does anyone know how Prop 8 did in Calif.?

In Fact, Jim, I came across a blog site that suggested that Obama's father was actually Frank Marshall Davis. I thought it was a bit out there so I didn't post it here. Who knows why the big mystery with the birth certificate! The thing is, everyone loves this guy so much, I doubt anyone would care where he was born and to whom.
Well, it seems it would be a legal question, not something to be decided by popular opinion. Would the Supreme Court even take up the question if it was appealed all the way to the Supreme Court?
Liberals already think the Supreme Court handed Bush the Presidency. If it was thrown back to them, would they have the courage to take deal with the problem?
When police use unlawful tactics to arrest someone, courts prohibit evidence obtained via unlawful tactics from being admitted. It is known as the "fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine. You can't use fruit (evidence) taken from a poisonous tree (unlawful process).
So, extending that doctrine to elections, the Democratic Party, shouldn't be allowed to keep the electoral "win" if BHO was found to be constitutionally ineligble to be President. In other words, Biden shouldn't be allowed to fill his shoes if BHO can't serve.
Maybe the Court would say neither are eligible and thus the Speaker of the House must step in and serve until the next presidential election. Now that is frightening!
Jim G., Shalom! You wrote:

No, it wouldn't be Pelosi. It would have to be someone farther down the line of succession. The reason I say that is because Pelosi (as well as the rest of the Democratic Party leaders) would be in great legal trouble (to put it mildly). There is the chance that they would all be arrested and charged with fraud, possibly with treason, for failure to do a background check on Obama. Since Pelosi is in Congress and the charges would relate to her duties, she probably would have to be impeached. While the rest of the DNC would be sued to bankruptcy, she would probably be immune due to her position in Congress (another reason why she would be impeached).
I'm inclined to believe that the court would give the election to McCain, by the expediency that since Obama was not legally qualified to run for office all votes for him are invalid, so all ballots for him are to be tossed out/discounted.
Ultimately, though, I think the Court will decline to hear the case, on the basis that if this was a legitimate concern, it should have been brought to court sooner.
However, it's also possible that the federal racketeering investigation against Obama's friend Tony Rezko might lead to Obama. Rezko's sentencing was postponed until after the election, indicating that he cut some deal with the prosecutors. Obama may be found inelegible because he may be under indictment.

My apologies to anyone who may think this not appropriate, and in particular to you, Mr. Hyde. Your selection of Milton for the quote could not help but remind me of a poem by Yeats, titled, "The Seond Coming":
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight:
somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again;
but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
Ora pro nobis, Domine, quia pius es. (Hear our prayers, O Lord, for you are merciful.)
<><
Shalom, all! I wanted to pass on to you something that came up when I was exchanging PMs with someone on CAF. We were discussing another member's interpretation of the beast with the mortal head wound, when I realized something.
I have come to believe in the interpretation that the beast that received a mortal wound to the head and then is resurrected is the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Turks sided with Germany during World War 1, mostly because Germany was fighting the Russians, and the Ottoman Empire wanted to get back land that Russia had captured a hundred years before. The problem was, the Ottoman Empire didn't have any competant military officers. The Russians were also using new tactics based upon the newer weapons they were using. The Turks also had the same newer weapons, but had not updated their tactics to make use of the newer capabilities. They could have updated their tatics before the war, but that would have meant sending officers to the corrupt Christian military schools, where they might return infected with both social diseases and new ideas. (There's a strong undercurrent in Islam that since Islam is the final and perfect revelation from G_D to man, there is nothing a non-Islamic country can have or offer that is better than or could be desired by an Islamic country.)
In the end, the Ottoman military squandered the lives of their soldiers; the fact that they sided with the Germans (who had started the war -- they launched simultaneous attacks on Russia and France) meant that when Germany lost, the Ottoman Empire lost, and the Empire was broken up leaving only the modern Turkish Republic, lead by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Everyone thinks the Ottoman (Islamic) Empire is dead, but if Turkey's secular government is replaced by an Islamic government, then that leads to the possibility of the Ottoman Empire being revived from a mortal head wound.
I've been staring at a Google Map of Turkey and I just had a chill run down my spine. An Empire isn't just one country, it's where a country has conquered and rules a number of other countries. Let me just think out loud here...
The Islamicists almost took over Turkey earlier this year, but were voted down. Turkey is a member of NATO, which was set up as a mutual defense system against the Soviet Union. The Turks don't like Russia and haven't liked them for a long, long time.
The thing is, Iran and Russia haven't liked each other for a long, long time either, yet now Russia is selling Iran weapons systems and nuclear reactors.
Suppose the Islamicists succeed in taking over Turkey and turning it from a secular democracy to an Islamic republic. This could be very, very bad for Russia. An AWFUL lot of Russian shipping (not to mention large parts of the Russian navy) passes through the Bosporus Straits, where Istanbul is located. If Turkey becomes an Islamic republic, I can see Russia using its observer status with the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to become Turkey's new best friend. As part of their new friendship Turkey leaves NATO, gets a large gift of shiny new Russian weapons systems, and uses those weapons systems to take over Georgia and Armenia. This does two things:
1. Russia now has overflight privledges (both commercial and military) over Turkey plus free travel through the Bosporus Straits, making it much easier to travel to the new Russian seaports in Syria;
2. The Ottoman Empire is reborn.
Hmmm... I'm going to have to think about this some more...

Jim C.,
I don't think even the current Congress (before newly elected members take their seats) would kick Nancy Pelosi out of the Speakers chair.
Members of Congress don't get impeached. The US Constitution provides Congress another method for "punishing" its members. (Even if impeachment were used, the House would bring articles of impeachment and the Senate would how the power to aquit or convict based upon those articles).
Article I
Section 5
Clause 1:
Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members, and a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do Business; but a smaller Number may adjourn from day to day, and may be authorized to compel the Attendance of absent Members, in such Manner, and under such Penalties as each House may provide.
Clause 2:
Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.
Jim C.,

This morning as I awoke and realized that the outcome of the election was real, in my spirit I heard the words, "Trust me in this, I AM the Beginning and the End, I AM Jehovah Jirah your provider, trust me in this."
OK, Well I feel we have our answer now. God is going to give this nation over to their reprobate minds & will not tarry.
Are you ready? Spiritual gear in place? Drawn close to the Father?
Here we go & it's looks like we may be in for a very fast ride.

ID,WY,UT & OK voted a large margin over Obama but really most states that McCain won were by a very narrow margin. Less than 10%.
So when you look at the US as a whole most of our population DOES want Obama & his "Change." It was a clear "Victory" so there is no doubt about it.
I really believe that through all this God has drawn His true Children near to Him & is allowing the god of this world to blind the eyes of the non-believers & back-sliders.
There is no way a "Christian" in their right mind would have a "born again" conscience & vote for Obama. So we have 50/50 split on Evengelicals? That number is quite telling. Probably the number that will remain for the Tribulation. When it gets bad enough possibly they will wake up to the fact God is Holy,Righteous,& means what He says. He's not going to tolerate people twisting & dumming down His word to suit themselves.
I'm glad the Lord Jesus is comming quickly-I wouldn't want my kids to live in a world such as it's heading.
We shouted to the Lord this Rosh Ha Shanah & He heard us! For that we should be thankful.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

You're right, Campsmore! Shortly after I posted that I found this prayer by St. Teresa of Avila:
“Let nothing disturb thee;
Let nothing dismay thee;
All thing pass;
God never changes.
Patience attains
All that it strives for.
He who has God
Finds he lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.”

Where's Grany?
FYI-This should be great to see-I'll post the link tomorrow:
"What a great week this is! Thousands of people are turning out in churches across the country to pray and seek the Lord, during this week of Prayer and Fasting. In the midst of it all, I want to tell you about a very special guest I will be interviewing at Maranatha Chapel this Wednesday night, November 5. The timing of this is crucial and no mere coincidence. Taysir Abu Saada (Tass), a former friend of Yasser Arafat and hater of Jews, brings a powerful and important message to our nation during this critical time in history."
Below is a short bio. Please come Wednesday night and hear the rest of the story—and be amazed and blessed!
Blessings,
Pastor Ray
"Taysir Abu Saada (Tass) was born in the Gaza Strip, in 1951. His parents immigrated to Saudi Arabia where he was raised a Muslim. Tass hated Jews, and Israel’s existence. After the humiliating Arab defeat in the 1967 war with Israel, Tass joined the “Fatah Forces” (PLO under Arafat). In Fatah, Tass was trained as a sniper to kill Jews. He also trained children to fight and kill Jews."
"In 1974, Tass came to the United States. He married an American girl (Karen) and worked in the restaurant and hotel industries, where he became very successful and reached executive positions. He became an American citizen in 1979."
"Through a supernatural encounter with Jesus Christ, Taysir Abu Saada became a “born again” believer. Since their conversion in 1993, Tass and Karen have been taking the message of Jesus to the people Tass hated the most (the Jews) and to the brethren he was willing to die for (the Muslims).
In 2006, God called them to move to the Gaza Strip and begin reaching out to the community by establishing a kindergarten and cultural center. With the desperate need for paying jobs, they also helped establish two small business owners with micro loans. This paved a way for them to reach out with the Gospel in love to their friends."
Will Sarah Palin become a scapegoat? (I had not really thought about this before. We'll have to keep watching.)
Sarah Palin hurt the McCain campaign.
McCain's verdict on Palin: more trouble than a pitbull
Comment from the Cutting Edge:
"The Illuminati Plan does envision a massive prison persecution against Christians once World War III gets underway. Before that type of persecution can begin, Christians must be marginalized and thoroughly discredited. An expecte backlash wave against Palin might start that process moving forward."
"While I am aware of the news articles that this campaign might propel Sarah Palin into the 2012 elections, I sincerely doubt it. The Christian vote will be discredited as meaningless and lacking political power and both Palin and genuine Christians will be pushed off the national stage."
(Don't we see this already occuring via the Left Media &
Social conditioning?)
This is an email I received this morning from my Demo friend's husband who is a PTSD Vietnam Vet.
"Not since 1968 have Americans of color, of all colors, had role models. They were taken away so brutally. The world sees attributes in our new president that gives insight of a new model of leadership and hope. May he be given the chance to fulfill his destiny."
**I replied but he's not going to like what he reads. (Included were some Biblical quotes.)
Yes, Palin will be a scapegoat. I heard on Fox this morning that the McCain aids are already criticizing her.
I don't think she would make it as a presidential candidate, at least not for many years.
I will be praying for Obama, especially for his safety and that of his family.

Lisa had surgery this morning, all her husband will tell me is, "it's not good."
She is in ICU on a respirator. I will not be able to see her until 5pm or 8pm.

Now that I went back it's a rolling advertisement so different ones pop up. Not sure if you'll get the AT&T one.
But ran across this:
(IsraelNN.com) President Shimon Peres Wednesday praised the election of Barack Obama to the U.S. presidency as an opportunity to end the "world crisis" and as an "end of racism."
"I don’t recall any other election that practically all of humanity was following with hope and concern, Peres said in a statement. "In a way, it is an end of racism. There is no longer any way that any white man can claim superiority, nor any black person feel discrimination."
Peres, who is an amateur poet, attached to the statement the text of a congratulatory letter he had sent Obama. It included a poem of sorts:
Dear Mr. President,
The world needs a great leader.
It is in your making.
It is in our prayers.
God bless you.
From Mark Biltz:
Shalom, one and all!
We have entered the month of Cheshvan
It so happens Cheshvan is the second month on the civil calendar following the month of Tishri. We know Nisan is the first month on the religious calendar, but I want to focus on the civil calendar right now. Noah’s flood took place 1,000 yrs before Moses and the times given are based on the civil calendar used at that time. In Genesis it says:
Ge 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Well, the anniversary of that very day is the coming Sabbath of Nov 15th 2008! I think it interesting that not only is it the very day the floods came but the Torah reading for that day is the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. That Sabbath is also the same day the nations are gathering together to discuss the global financial problems in Washington DC! It is truly judgment day!
Campsmore,
praying for Lisa.

late night Lisa,
What is the picture supposed to be?

Grany, hopefully your husband is doing ok. Our prayers are with him and and you, and with your kids and your ex and his wife, too.
People around here seem pretty upbeat and hopeful.
I like Joels post for today.
It remains to be seen how this administration will deal with Israel.
Hopefully they won't push for a 2 state solution and the division of Jerusalem the way this administation has and continues to do.
Donna,
The hope only comes from knowing that the One in whom we put our trust doesn't reside on Pennsylvania Avenue. Not only that, but His term in office is eternal!

Hi everyone! Been a very busy and hectic 2 days but the worst part is my desktop computer is on strike for better working conditions and I think it was also infected by Change you better bettcha!
Hubby had his surgery on Tuesday, a nervous wreck but everything went according to the book. He was more like a pussy cat with a thorn in the paw afterward and today we returned for post-op care. They removed the shield from the eye and he came out of the doctors office not showing one sign of having anything done to his eye. Hey, I grew up in the days when cataract surgery was a major thing and so did hubby. I am so very thankful that everything went great for him.
My only concern now is that he will be able to read all of the little tiny print and I will never get him out of the label reading mode when we go to buy groceries or anything else for that matter. Right now he is curled up in the recliner with the kitty kat on his lap and they are both asleep. Oh, the beauty of quiet.
JIM G. I love the way you started the comments out. Thanks brother, we need to keep that before us at all times.
MAC, were you batting around making weird sounds and groanings so deep they could be uttered?
Keep the love going and Lisa, you have your work cut out for you in SD when you get there. We all need to form a prayer shield for your evangelizing the area in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
I am using my laptop and I know I will be more prone to typing errors because I type very, very fast and my laptop isn't keeping up with me as good as my regular keyboard. I will get the speed repeat set up later but wanted to let you know that we got over the cataract hurdle just great.
Also, your prayers were greatly answered in Missouri with my daughter, son and the step mother situation. Becky told me that she was just getting up yesterday (election day) and all of a sudden she knew what she had to do to end the flame wars taking place. She sought out Helen and reassured her that all she and her brother were interested in was the welfare of their daddy. That their love didn't end with the divorce and had never been seen in such a manner. She spent about 3 hours talking with Helen and took her to lunch where JC (my son) joined them and reiterated the same things on his part. Helen then relaxed and has been totally different. When they went back to the hospital, Spanky was sitting on the side of the bed, waiting to be helped up into a chair. First time in 3 weeks. He told them he was not going to die but was getting much better and planned on going back to his house before much longer. Then the doctor came in and said that the chemistries and EKG were much improved over the previous days and would almost guarantee his release by this Saturday.
God moves in wondrous and mysterious ways but prayer is the vehicle for the movement.
Thanks to all of you for your precious support in this time of need.
Love and blessings,
Grany
Wonderful news all around, Grany!
Thank you, God, in Jesus' name!

Obama Names Rahm Emanuel, Son of Former Israelis, Chief of Staff
President-elect Barack Obama on Wednesday offered the job of White House chief of staff to Democratic Congressman Rahm Emanuel, who reportedly accepted the offer. Emanuel is the Chicago-born son of former Israelis.
The 48-year-old Emanuel is a member of the Orthodox Jewish community of Chicago and grew up speaking Hebrew with his father, a pediatrician who was a member of the Jewish resistance in Palestine before the War of Independence in 1948.
During the Gulf War in 1991, Emanuel came to Israel to serve as a civilian volunteer.
Emanuel was a senior advisor to Bill Cliton during his term in the White House and was first elected to Congress in 2002.
Emanuel was named the Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2005.
That news about Emanuel is good news and now let's start praying for him to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit as regards God's Only plan for Israel and stop the foolishness about dividing Jerusalem.
Of course, you do realize that a lot of the African Americans who are born again believers in Jesus Christ are convinced that Obama will be saved in the early part of his term. That they don't believe he has had a real conversion but one only in Rev. Wright's theolog. But the scriptures tell us that God appoints and sets in power the men and women who serve in high offices.
New praying ground for all of us. I hope that all of you keep a positive outlook and let's get on with the joy of the Lord in serving our nations and Abba by living this life to the front and center of His Word.
Love you all and I am saying, Nighty Night and Mac, keep the lights on at the cave.

Grany, Alesia and I both praise God re hubby! We are are still praying.
Lisa was not doing well yesterday. We called the ICU nurses station and they said she had finally stablized and that was pretty late in the day.
I'm going there today with or without Scott's permission as a deacon of the church. I am a deacon at our church so I have that authority. I already told one of the assoc. pastors, so I have their full support.
I'm also going to ask the nurses a ton of questions, I'm not sure what they are yet, but I'm praying for wisdom.
I appreciate all your prayers, when she pulls thru it will be nothing short of God's grace and His miraculous power. Glory!

Prophetic implications? OK-I'm trying not to get too excited!
Prop 8 did pass by a narrow margin in CA. But-I'm rally cynical on that one. (Somehow I think the libs will stick it to us again w/their crafty schemes.)

Lori,
Praying for the Holy Spirit to give you discernment. Along with an annointing from the Holy Spirit to minister to Lisa today.
oooooohhhhh, This was interesting.
Do you remember when I posted some info on "Mayteria"?
Obama, the World Teacher
From sliceofLaodicea:
"Having followed Share International for years, it was interesting to find this article from the San Francisco Chronicle today that ran in July. This tongue-in-cheek treatment of Obama as the promised world teacher called Maitreya (there are many sites besides Share International that are promoting this coming World Teacher) really isn’t so funny. As even the columnist points out, Maitreya and Obama must have had the same speech writers. An interesting piece."

Lisa, that was an interesting link on Maitreya. Then I went to sliceoflaodicea and I think this remark is worth posting here.
Pastor Dustin Segers: A Word to Christians Online
08-29-2008
Christian Life
When we as Christians interact online, how do we keep from becoming distracted by the mockery, scorn and sin that dominates in much of the blog world? Does it matter if we neglect our families in pursuit of “sound doctrine?” How do we keep our focus on Christ when we face constant attacks from those who are enemies of the cross? Pastor Dustin Segers of Shepherd’s Fellowship in Greensboro, North Carolina minces no words on this podcast today. Christians have to be on guard against those who would draw us into foolish debates and arguments, gossip and time wasting pursuits. Psalm 1 provides the guideline: don’t waste time with the scorners. We are to be like Nehemiah, refusing to leave God’s work for fruitless debate and argument with those who will not acknowledge the truth. In this Slicecast, there is something for everyone who spends time online. We need to examine ourselves regularly to make sure our conduct is Christ-honoring and focused on the tasks God has given us. We’re not wrestling against people. This is a spiritual battle, and that is easy to forget."
That certainly cuts to the chase, don't you agree.
But Lisa, that article you referenced us to was an eye opener for me and I wonder why that information wasn't being shared on a wider scale prior to the elections. There was an answer right in front of us when we all wondered and asked "who does he think he is". Well, we shall soon know and maybe we will be out of here by Christmas this year.

couldn't agree more! words to consider for sure. I have felt at times that I am neglecting my family by blogging which is why I do go at times without posting although I am reading. glad things went well.
Lori
Lisa's hubby can ban you from seeing her legally even if you are a deacon from the church-if there is a "please check with rn" poster on door they will have a list of who is and isn't allowed and they will stick with it to the point of calling security. just be careful.
otherwise, new info on business prop makes it unlikely that I will go that direction at this time.
does anyone else think it significant that BHO chose a jew for his chief of staff?
there are some who think the false prophet will be jewish rather than the AC.
Good article Grany.
Now Jim C. the Vatican is going to have some competition over the Virgin Mary miracle claims.
Maitreya has been producing ALL the miracles from every religious denomination all along from this article:Signs and miracles
(**That O video clip was funny!)
JIB,
I thought that was interesting too....the selection of Emanuel as Chief of Staff.
I also thought it was ironic too....picking a Jew when BHO is clearly no friend to Israel. Of course, I don't think Emanuel is either.
You would not believe the turn-around in one day! I went to the hospital, walked right by everyone again, a janitor saw me with my Bible as I head to ICU and punched in a code to let me in... before visiting hours.
Lisa was just coming out of a drug induced state, they had just removed the respirator from her throat.
She was using one word to communicate, i.e. tube, pain, cough, husband.
I spoke with her as she really came to. She began to tell me things she remembered and asked me to stay as long as I was allowed.
Lisa had a bowel resection. Once her body starts using the colostomy, she can get the tube out of her stomach, be moved to a regular room and begin liquids.
I read to her, Ps 23, Ps 1-3 and the blessing from Num 6. She asked me to keep reading, so I did. I thought I brought some anointing oil, but realized I had forgotten it. So, without telling her, I used Ayr Saline Nasal Gel to anoint her. In a month or two, I'll tell what I did, but not yet. he he he
I stayed as long as they let me, I was there from 11:50 to 1:40. By the time I left, her bed was in the chair position and she was sitting up talking.
Thanks for your continued prayer for her recovery, it's absolutely amazing progress.

Mike Mickey’s view:
For all of my 25 plus years as a student of prophecy, scholars have been expecting the Battle of Ezekiel 38. Yet the conditions that make it possible have never been met. For one thing, the participants are not all in place, but more importantly Israel has never known a single day of peace, let alone the prolonged period necessary for them to be described as a peaceful and unsuspecting people, the way Ezekiel did (Ezek. 38:11). Something has to happen to make them feel like they no longer have a threatening enemy while leaving Iran, Russia, and the other nations Ezekiel identified in position to attack.
Recently, several writers, myself included, have seen two other Old Testament prophecies as likely preludes to Ezekiel 38. In Psalm 83 it appears that all of Israel’s next door neighbors will rise up in an attack intended to destroy the Jewish nation, and Isaiah 17 specifically mentions Israel’s destruction of Damascus. The defeat of Israel’s neighbors fills in two more blanks in the end times sequence. First, it explains why none of them are mentioned in Ezekiel 38, when logic dictates that they should be right in the thick of things. Second, it reveals how the Jews can be caught with their guard down. With Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah, Lebanon, and the others defeated, Israel will finally have some breathing room. Since Russia and Iran have traditionally used these neighbors as proxies rather than having a face-to-face confrontation, Israel may feel there’s no longer any threat from them either.
Confirming The Sequence Of End Times Events
PS I think that was actually Jack Kelley's article on Mike's site.

Hi Jib,
Still playing catch up and came across your request for thoughts about the company buying your practice on 03/11/2008. If you still want some input, drop me an e-mail as this has been happening in SA on a regular basis and I have had some experience on this. My e-mail address is: jerilobb@yebo.co.za, will pray for guidance in any case.
Prewrath Rapture Dot Com has posted a You Tube video by James White from Alpha Omega ministries concerning the election. I highly recommend viewing it.
I agree with Kathy. I recommend every one listens to James White's talk.
Thank you Mac.
Hey, do any of the bats watch cricket - Mac?
Grany - praise The Lord things have gone well for you and Hubby.
Lori - keep on working on Lisa and her family and let the Holy spirit lead you!
Just caught up now but will be away for the weekend, so will have to start again on Monday! Going camping into the bush where there is no electricity.
To all - have a Blessed Christ centered weekend.
jeri.
Jeri, I don't know about the other bats but I find cricket about as exciting as watching my weeds grow in the back yard. I never could get into the game - much prefer throwing iron around and going for runs. Have a great week end!
Jeri, Shalom! Re: cricket, never touch the stuff myself. But I remember seeing a famous violinist on a talk show years ago describing how he like to practice while watching cricket. There's no commentary to speak of, so you can watch without listening. He's get in a couple of hours of practice a day doing that!
Also, re: posting email addresses on the site: Even though we think we're "hidden", it's still a good idea to "munge" your address so that robots can't find it. For example, your munged address would be something like, jerilobb AT yebo DOT co DOT za. Humans can read it but robots can't.

Lisa, Shalom!
Wow. All I can say is that you really know how to pick them.
I was reading through the links on that "Share International" web site about the different miracles, and all I can say is that this Benjamin Creme is a real piece of work.
There was one story about "The Weeping Virgin of Las Vegas". There is supposed to be a 4-ft tall statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe in someone's back yard in Las Vegas. Supposedly, it began crying Dec. 12, 1998 and still does it occasionally. Naturally, instead of calling their local priest or the bishop's office, they call the local news media. I can't find any evidence that they submitted the statue to testing by the diocese, or that the local bishop has said anything about it. In fact, aside from that original article, I can't find ANYTHING about it. It's comforting to know that Benjamin Creme’s Master confirms that the Master Who was the Madonna is responsible for the miracles surrounding the Las Vegas ‘Weeping Virgin’ statue. Apparently confirmed without any testing. It's a Master thing.
I also think it's mighty white of Benjamin Creme’s Master to confirm that the miracles attributed to St. Charbel did in fact perform those miracles.
What I see this Creme guy doing is co-opting miracles and events, and proclaiming as miracles things that haven't been tested or scrutinized in any way, shape, or form. This guy is definitely a danger.

Sorry this is so long but it's a really good post from a blogger on the Trumpet:
Curious Says:
November 7th, 2008 at 1:34 am
When I first heard people relating “O” to the AC, I thought ‘How ridiculous’!
So I set out to show how it simply can’t be.
That was 2 days ago, and I am leaning more toward the possibility that maybe - just maybe - its possible.
I picked the following up online & copy and paste for your consideration:
Is Barack Obama the “promised warrior” coming to help the Hidden Imam of Shiite Muslims conquer the world?
The question has made the rounds in Iran since last month, when a pro-government Web site published a Hadith (or tradition) from a Shiite text of the 17th century. The tradition comes from Bahar al-Anvar (meaning Oceans of Light) by Mullah Majlisi, a magnum opus in 132 volumes and the basis of modern Shiite Islam.
According to the tradition, Imam Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (the prophet’s cousin and son-in-law) prophesied that at the End of Times and just before the return of the Mahdi, the Ultimate Saviour, a “tall black man will assume the reins of government in the West.” Commanding “the strongest army on earth,” the new ruler in the West will carry “a clear sign” from the third imam, whose name was Hussein Ibn Ali. The tradition concludes: “Shiites should have no doubt that he is with us.”
In a curious coincidence Obama’s first and second names–Barack Hussein–mean “the blessing of Hussein” in Arabic and Persian. His family name, Obama, written in the Persian alphabet, reads O Ba Ma, which means “he is with us,” the magic formula in Majlisi’s tradition.
In Luke 10:18 Jesus states,
“I beheld Satan as Lightning fall from Heaven.”
How does a Jewish Rabbi, which Jesus is credited with being (John 1:38), say in HEBREW, that Satan is like LIGHTNING from heaven?
Barack, also transliterated as Baraq in Hebrew, is LIGHTNING (Strongs Hebrew word 1300). Even in Greek, Barak is LIGHTNING (Strongs Greek word 913) for the name of a person!
The ONLY WAY, a Jewish Rabbi can say in Hebrew that SATAN is LIGHTNING is, SATAN BARACK!
Interestingly, the “Greek” verse of Luke 10:18 does not contain an actual Greek word to translate into “Fall”. The Greek word translated as “Fall” appears to be a rare form of a Hebrew word for “transgressions”. So, the words of Jesus in this verse probably refer to heavenly transgressions.
In Hebrew poetry from the dominant book that the New Testament draws upon, to validate the “works” of Jesus as “proof” of poetic prophecy, the use of BAMA (Strongs Hebrew word 1116) is used to refer to the “heights” of heaven. That book is Isaiah. Christian scholars would agree, that much of the New Testament refers directly to passages of Isaiah’s poetry.
Isaiah is also the source of origin for the Christian concept of “Satan” or “Lucifer” Isaiah 14:12.
In the verses of Isaiah that refer directly to “Lucifer” in King James translations of Isaiah, sure enough, BAMA (Strongs Hebrew word 1116) is used to refer to the “Heights” of Heaven (Isaiah 14:14)!
In Hebrew, the letter vau is transliterated as an “O” or “U”. It is primarily used as a conjunction to join concepts together. So, to “join” in Hebrew poetry the concept of lightning (Barack) and a high place like heaven or the “Heights of Heaven”, the letter “O” or Hebrew vau would be used. Bama is most commonly used to refer to a high sacred place, as well as to the “Heights” of the heavens or clouds.
So, Barack O Bama in Hebrew poetry, similar to the style of Isaiah, would translate literally as Lightning and the “Heights” of the sky or heaven!
Satan is Satan in Hebrew. So the Jesus “Prophecy” of Luke 10:18, if spoken actually by a Jewish Rabbi influenced by the poetry of Isaiah, would have said the verse Luke 10:18 as ;
Satan Barack O Bama
That would be Hebrew for Satan is Lightning (Barack) and the heights (BAMA) of heaven or the sky.
Since the oldest copy of Luke 10:18 is recorded in Greek, the only word we need to add, is the incorrectly translated word for a “fall”. Thus far, Christian scholars claim the word translated as “fall” is Strongs Greek 4098, Pipto. In Luke 10:18, in GREEK, Pipto is not used. The word is pesouta. This is probably a Greek phonetic usage of the Hebrew word. Like Satan is Hebrew and translated phonetically as a Hebrew word, it seems pesouta, a Hebrew word, was not correctly translated, since a Greek word NOT IN THE GREEK TEXT for “fall” is credited by scholars as being in the Satan is Barack (Lightning) verse.
The Hebrew root of pesouta is a word normally used to refer to a “transgression” or a sin.
Pesa (Strongs Hebrew word 6588) refers to a revolt, rebellion or sin, a “transgression”. This is the exact concept normally associated with “Satan” in Christian theology.
So, Luke 10:18 is correctly translated as;
“Satan is like Lightning (Barack) and the Highest (Bama) heavenly rebellion/sin/transgression!!
While Christians consider “Sin” a humanly “fall” from Grace, the Greek word for a “fall” is not used in Luke 10:18.
Interestingly, we now have a political leader on the threshold of obtaining control of the largest arsenal of NUCLEAR WARHEADS on this planet!
If you were SATAN, or Barack (Hebrew for Lightning), what army would you try to take control of, so you could unleash 10,000 NUKES upon mankind and DESTROY what he hates (Humanity)?
That army, is the army of the United States of America!
Interestingly, another world figure named Barack, is already in control of over 100 NUKES! The minister of Defense of Israel is named Barack!
The New Testament records Jesus saying LIGHTNING, or Barack in Hebrew, only three times! Luke 10:18 is clear. SATAN is BARACK or Lightning!
In Matthew 24:27, Jesus explains how his “coming” will be connected to LIGHTNING (Barack)!
Matt 24:27
“For as the Lightning (Barack) cometh out of the east and shineth unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be!”
The Greek word translated as “For” in this verse is gar (Strongs Greek word 1063). This word can also be translated as SEEING or WHEN. So seeing Barack or when Barack comes from the east and shines unto the west is a TIMING EVENT for the “Coming of Jesus”!
Barack Obama grew up in the “East”, in the country of Indonesia! His political career is now about to shine upon the West, the United States!
Can it be, the “Coming of the Son of Man” is nigh?
According to New Testament verses, Lightning or Barack is SATAN and his travels from the East in Indonesia to his accession to the throne of power in the West, the United States, signals the “Coming of the Son of Man”!
In Luke 17:24, Jesus once again uses Lightning (Barack aka SATAN) for a timing prophecy of his “Coming”!
Once again, the Greek word gar (Strongs Greek word 1063) is translated as “for”. However, it is also “seeing” or “when”. So, Luke 17:24 can also be read as:
“Seeing/when lightning (Barack) comes out of Heaven… so shall also the Son of man be in his day!”
So, Jesus used Lightning (Barack in Hebrew) to literally describe SATAN! He then tied his “Coming” to the appearance of “Barack” or Lightning aka SATAN! Many political pundits describe the charisma of Barack Obama as “Messianic”! Perhaps they should read their Bibles closer and see it is really SATANIC CONTROL!
Daniel 11:23 says the Antichrist will become strong with the help of the minorities.
Verse 24 says he will “Spread the wealth”
More coming as we delve into this interesting topic…
Make sure you watch the FRIProphecy in the Newsupdate this weekend.
Lisa, that is fascinating! When you said it was from the Trumpet, did you mean Joel's Trumpet? I didn't see this post there.
Never mind, Lisa, I found it. (It's a comment at Joel's Nov 5 post "Barack Obama is not the Antichrist")
Interestingly, I saw the article referrenced about the "promised warrior" a day or two ago. It was at Forbes Mag by Amir Taheri and has now been removed from Forbes, according to this blog which has the piece about 1/3 down.
Why Did the Chicken cross the road?
SAEED AL SAHAF - Iraqi Head of Information
"The chicken did not cross the road. This is a complete fabrication. We do not even have a chicken."
GEORGE W BUSH
"We don't care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either for us or against us. There is no middle ground."
BARACK OBAMA
"The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!"
JOHN MCCAIN
"My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road."
COLIN POWELL
"Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road."
JOHN KERRY

TONY BLAIR
"I agree with George."
HILARY CLINTON
"When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me."
HANS BLIX
"We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road."
DR SEUSS
"Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told."
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR

NANCY GRACE
"That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You can see it in his eyes and by the way he walks."

"In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough."
ANDERSON COOPER - CNN
"We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road."
DR. PHIL
"The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on 'THIS' side of the road before it goes after the problem on the 'OTHER SIDE' of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his 'CURRENT' problems before adding 'NEW' problems."
OPRAH
"Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens."
BARBARA WALTERS
"Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it experienced a serious case of moulting, and went on to accomplish its dream of crossing the road."
JOHN LENNON
"Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together in peace."
ARISTOTLE
"It is the nature of chickens to cross the road."
KARL MARX

have had two opportunities in 2 days to witness as people opened up with the whole Obama as the antichrist line. who would have thought. turns out one friend may actually be a believer. have invited her and hubby to church with me. we'll see.
oh and Lisa the God in Exile link was phenomenal
if you all haven't watched the link from the SD church with Saada you need to.
I invited my friend Kelly-not sure if she'll comment. Hope you don't mind-she's good people as they say.
Nate-she's our Cerner lead if you are interested
Hi jib,
I was just telling some others that I've had 2 similar conversations with friends I wouldn't have considered "deep" in their spiritual interests. I was quite surprised - and pleased - to be able to share things that we've been discussing here, so I take it that lots of people will be open to hearing what we have to share in the days ahead. Hubby also surprised me a few days ago when he commented that it was exciting to be alive at a time when we might be used mightily of God to reach others who aren't paying attention. This is pretty much the exact opposite of what I would have expected him to say on the topic. He usually poo-poos me and gives the standard "every generation has claimed to be the last one" retort. I've been in fervent prayer about us becoming more unified and it's wonderful to see fruit beginning to grow from those prayers.
Harvest time is here!
Blessings,
Jen
New book says U.S. Christians stingy about giving money to their church
Something I am remembering this AM;
Psa 103:1 [A Psalm] of David.] Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Psa 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psa 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Psa 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Psa 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Psa 103:6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Psa 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
Psa 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psa 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
Psa 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Psa 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Psa 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Psa 103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
Psa 103:16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
Psa 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
Psa 103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
Psa 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Psa 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
Psa 103:21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Psa 103:22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

Everyone:
I am going to try getting this comment posted but if it cuts off half done, it is my computer problems again. Seems I have acquired a donkey in my system that is messing with me big time. I haven't been able to respond to all of my email since the last time I answered Lori. Email is out now and so is this if it cuts me off.

I strongly recommend that you all reinforce your security because now your computers can be infected without being signed into your internet service. Most everyone is "constant ON" mode and the new attacks are very devious. I have contacted Cisco regarding my Linksys Router and it is outrageous the amount of data that is being wiped out by some of the attacks. Not my hard drive but whatever this thing is it is violent. I am not on, nor can I even get on my main computer but I am using my laptop and it isn't my favorite weapon of cyberspace.
So, I am not ignoring you all just trying to get my Hard drive copied by way of an IDE to USB 2.0 system and people, I have no idea what I am doing. I am just following the directions and wearing a funny looking little bracelet that is supposed to demagnify my body so I won't shock my computer. I didn't know I still had that ability to shock anything. Will miracles ever cease? No way! I am living proof.
Love you all and remember, we don't know the future but we know who is the future.

Great Second Advent post, and thank you for sharing the wonderful Psalm GT.
It really helps to focus on Him and the things from above.
Since I've adopted Jen's praying steps (giving thanks first, then praying for Israel and Jerusalem, the world leaders, family and friends and other people, then my things) things in general just seem so different.
By the time I get around to my things, my things seems so insignificant.
I'll check out some of the links you all have suggested asap....things in general have been kind of hectic lately!
Thinking of and praying for you all

grany;
I haven't heard anything yet regarding the renter, seems as though it is a closed issue with them at this time, still hoping that God will convict their hearts to do the right thing by paying up their debts. It could take some time. Thank you again for agreeing in prayer for this situation, God Bless!!
Maranatha!

Jim C. Remember that Eagle & Serpant dream I just posted? This blogger on the Trumpet also had an eagle dream. They are probably related somehow. Joel never answered. It was posted by JH under "Barack Obama is not the AntiChrist."
DREAM: (Joel what do you think?) I had a dream a couple of days before Obama was elected and I saw him on a podium, he was larger in life with his head extra big and his arms extra long. In front of him was a crowd of people, normal people all dressed in red, red shirts, red dresses…but they were holding a large EAGLE. And behind Obama’s stage was a large crowd of people all dressed in very dark blue cloaks with hoods…their faces were black (not as in race but dark as in demonic–they looked like grim reapers to be specific) Obama suddenly thrusts his arms into the crowd wearing red and grabs the eagle from them and turns around and throws it into the crowd in dark blue/grim reaper people….the eagle dissolves and disappears into the blue crowd and the dream was over.

Anne, Shalom! I was really interested in reading that "Confession of an Ex-Abortionist" article. Hi Jim C.,
I have a question. I was hesitant to post this here because it is likely ground that has been covered already and I missed it. So, I tried to e-mail you but the message bounced back.
Can you give me a brief overview of the Catholic view of the timing of the rapture. I believe I do recall you saying that Catholic doctrine has always taught that Christ will come after the time of tribulation begins. Would you characterize it as mid-trib, pre-wrath, post-trib or some other view? I'm certainly not looking forward to any persecution but if that is what the Lord in His sovereign will has determined, than blessed be the name of the Lord. As Jesus prayed in the Garden on the night He was betrayed, "Lord, let this cup pass from me if possible. Nevertheless, not my will but thine be done."
I think he set the pattern for the Church. We abide in Him, our life and identity is in Him. We live with Him, we die with Him, and we are raised with Him. Being in Christ may bring persecution, especially as His coming draws very near, but I'm confident there is a much greater purpose and in the end, God will be glorified and we will have victory in Him. Pray that me and my family have wisdom and faith to endure whatever He has for us. God bless you brother. I know there are those who disagree with much of Catholic theology, but I find plenty of wisdom and truth in it even though I have always been Protestant. We definitely do have some common ground.
Looking forward to hearing what the Catholic view is on the timing of the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the Lord's 2nd Coming. In case you've forgotten, I find the pre-wrath position most convincing (not most comforting but most convincing in light of Scripture).
God has not appointed us to wrath.
Hallelujah!
We were invited to a private airshow yesterday. There were only about 150 people there. It was amazing. I have so much respect for our military pilots. There was an F15 and F18 and the manuevers they performed were nothing short of intelligence beyond my comprehension, that's for sure.
These pilots got the jets so low to us on the ground, went vertical and thru on the afterburners! Man alive! I thought the noise and vibration was going to rattle my soul from my body, and I was wearing ear protection.
I would not like to be on the receiving end of any agression by any of that craft.
We were certainly blessed. My son loves flying and military aircraft and his friend loves engines. It was a superterrific day.
Jim G
Catholics are amillennialists-they don't believe in either a rapture or a millennial kingdom. they also are by and large replacement in their theology meaning that I believe the official position for a few hundred years has been that the church completely replaces Israel as the heir to all the promises of God to Israel in the OT and that God is completely done with Israel. I know I read somewhere where some of the protestant denominations have gotten away from covenant/replacement theology but have yet to read such about the Catholic church although I do remember a statement from the Pope retracting that "all the jews for all time" were guilty in killing Christ which is one of the tenets that replacement theology is built on.
I am however disappointed that you are once again bringing up the whole pre wrath thing. seriously, those of us who are pre trib-you aren't going to change our minds regardless of how much you post on it.

JIB, I have several versions of this song on my PC. Listening always gives me goose bumps.
I'd be interested to hear Jim C's answer to the rapture question. As far as I can recall, I think you're right. The RCC is amillennial and the only rapture that occurs is at the end of the world - but I could be wrong.
In fact, I've been reading Paul Benware and he states that there are two types of amillennial beliefs - Millennial Rule by the Church on Earth and Millennial Rule of Christ in Heaven. Basically, premillennialists see one of the purposes of the Millennium as a vehicle for the fulfilment of the OT promises to Israel. Of course, if you see the church replacing Israel, then you have no need for a literal Millennium on earth.
Lisa - that was a cute video.
Jib,
You wrote:

I honestly wasn't trying to bring up the whole pre-wrath thing so to speak. I am a little curious why it hits such a raw nerve for so many folks. Aren't we all interested in learning and growing in the Lord. That might mean that I change my position and have my eyes opened to the pre-trib position if that is the Lord's position.
One thing I have enjoyed so much about the cave is that I really sense that everyone here loves the Lord. Obviously, we all believe that it is important to understand the times and to rightly understand the Word of God. I think we can learn and grow and be encouraged by one another even if we reach differenct conclusions about the Word of God.
I love reading your posts and insights. You are a woman of God. I'm sorry I disappointed you and I mean no offense to anyone here when I communicate or reveal my pre-wrath understanding of things. Really, I am open to learning where my understanding of Scripture needs to be corrected. I hope those like you who sincerely believe that God's Word reveals that His Church will be raptured before the tribulation are at least willing to change your mind if the Holy Spirit reveals to you that you are wrong. I definitely want to remain open to His gentle corrections.
Of course, being open to the Lord changing our minds doesn't mean that we shouldn't stand our ground as long as we believe we are in line with the Word of God,
hmmm
I would agree with you on learning and correction except we seem imo to keep covering the same ground and nothing changes. it's not so much the topic of pre wrath that is the issue, it was actually rather interesting the first few times it came up, it's just that the same stuff comes up and the same people reach the same conclusions over and over and over and nothing changes. from the perspective of some here at the cave, pre wrath is tantamount to false doctrine just as to some the concept of eternal security is tantamount to false doctrine (which while a rather strong word if you think something is not scriptural then what else is it?)
For me, differing eschatologic views are minor things in the scheme of things-which is why as a committed millennialist and pretrib rapture person I can easily and comfortably fellowship at a Presby church. There are some however that feel I am in sin for going to my church because they view me as unequally yoked. now if someone started saying the doctrine of the trinity was wrong or that there were other means or paths to salvation other than that through Christ-big problems there.
some debate is good since it focuses your mind and spirit on the things of God, it challenges you to look hard at what you believe, why you believe it and makes you better able to defend it.
Mac
didn't really know that the two thoughts were different-church on earth and Christ in heaven. I'd really only heard about the first. can you explain further and give us a rundown on what scripture they use as a basis for this?
my husband and I were asked to be co-deacons. we have a few couples at church who function as a single deacon-dividing the duties amongst each other to get more folks with smaller kids and busy lives involved in the church. we'll be praying about it and we would ask for your prayers as well. I think we should do it but hubby is not reluctant but hesitant-he's a major introvert and between the two of us we are majorly busy and he thinks he'll get stuck with the bulk of it.
I have yet to tell my dad since he has very strong feelings on women as leaders in the church. when my brother got kicked out of the Christian university my dad teaches at he ended up with chest pain in the ER. My brother and I tend to filter things shall we say in talking to our parents. ha!
JIB, I read that in Paul Benware's "Understanding End Times Prophecy". He doesn't elaborate other than to explain the view and I suspect the belief doesn't rely solely on Scripture. I'd still like to get Jim's take on amillennialism.
I'm definitely Pre-trib as long as the Tribulation is yet to come.
If we end up living in the days of the Tribulation then I'm switching to Pre-wrath.
How's that? Is that not logical?
I know there are Spirit filled believers who both think that they have the correct interpretation.
What can one really say to that?
I'm still perplexed about it as they come but we just need to be sure we remain in a "teachable" spirit mode.
I know we are spared from God's wrath & judgment upon the unsaved because that is what the Word says.
From what I've studied of the Bride & the Wedding Chamber (7 days) & the Churches in Revelation & other things it still leads me to a Pre-Trib view.
But today Hallelujah! our Pastor just started on "The 7 Love Letters" - Revelation 2,3 & today was the 1st one-Ephasis. The Church who lost their 1st Love.
It was excellent-I'll post it when it's up but the one thing our Pastor brought out was that in Acts when they were "on Fire" for the Lord(Their 1st Love) -one of the main positive points of this Church was their "Teachable" Spirits.
Even though they had one of the best Rabbi or teacher over them & were correct in sound doctrine they were eager to learn more of what was available to them in the Lord. They were baptized w/water by John the Baptist but learned that they should also now be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
What I really think has been going on lately at this Church is that the Holy Spirit has been preparing it, refining, trying, testing-cleaning spiritual house so to speak because something is coming down the line in our future that we need to be in pristine spiritual shape for.
I hope it's the return of our Lord but it could also be and/or upcoming persecution.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it or there really may be some spiritual discernment involved.
It's amazing how it's been unfolding through the topics & messages given the last few months.
Lisa, did you forget mid-trib?
Obama to use executive orders for immediate impact
Let's not forget, that some of us believe in several raptures of the church :)
Pre-Trib, AND Mid-Trib. (Mid-Trib. would pretty much, include Pre-Wrath, from what I've learned/read, etc.)
As I've said, more than once, I just want to go (in the rapture) on the first load!
Jib,
When I went to a Presbyterian Church, we believed in a Pre-Trib. rapture. This was in the 1950's, though. And maybe our Minister wasn't going by Pres. doctrine? (he pretty much did his own thing, LOL!)
At any rate, I've got to get ready for work this evening.
God bless, and have a wonderful week!
Did anyone besides Mac watch the video by James White? (The timing of the rapture was not discussed in that video and that is not my purpose here.) It was quite sobering. I would encourage you to view it if you haven't yet. James White really put into perspective what our nation has become and how important it is that we soak ourselves in the Word so we are willing to speak as the Word of God speaks.
I hope everyone had a blessed Lord's Day!

I agree with you wholeheartedly, Jim. I used to be a rapture skeptic, then I defaulted to posttrib and now I see pretrib as having fewer problems than the other views. In the process of studying, I’ve asked God (and continue to do so) to help me to not be dogmatic. So, if the Lord leads me elsewhere, I pray I follow willingly. If that means seeing the AC, then so be it. So far, however, even after looking at posttrib and prewrath, I cannot honestly conclude that I’m required by Scripture to look forward to the AC before the Lord. That includes a reading of 2 Thess 2. I suspect the Lord will have quite a few surprises for those of us who think we’ve got it all worked out - before it is all finished.
Kathy, I actually watched it twice and posted it at the OL as well. I was thinking about posting it here before you did so. I encourage everyone to look at it.
Kathy,
Hi!
No, I didn't watch the video. (or any video, for that matter) I'm on Dial Up, and it takes too long :(
Mac,
Amen! I know that there are a few "curve balls," coming from God. And we all need to remain open to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
This time, I'm really signing off, and getting ready for work :)
Love to all!
Hal Lindsey Report This was some good info regarding Cuba. (Russia is courting them once again.)
Kathy,
I did watch the video almost as soon as you posted it. I agree substantively with most if not all of what he said but was left with a sense of defeat and doom and gloom. Maybe that is overstating it but there was a little something (I can't put my finger on it) that was troubling.
Perhaps it was sadness for the United States. I am increasingly saddened about the state of our country but I also am excited about what the Lord is doing in His Church. I agree with Lisa on that. He is doing a work among us and it is VERY GOOD and EXCITING.
This is a short article I found that I answers some of the questions I had about the Catholic view.
Are Catholics into the Rapture?
Whether one agrees or disagrees with all of what the author presents as the Catholic teaching, this is well written article!
The Rapture Trap: A Catholic View
Jim G., Shalom! That last article sums up the Catholic position better than I ever could!
<><
Thanks Jim C.!
Here's a quick overview of the main points of the article that Jim C. confirmed gives a good overview of Catholic eschatology. I think it is worth reading even if you aren't Catholic.
Essentials of Catholic Teaching on the Last Days
Jesus will return to the earth in glorious triumph.
First, however, the Antichrist will appear to deceive the world and persecute the Church.
The Church will suffer the great tribulation prophesied by her Lord.
The final victory of Christ on earth will not come through a gradual improvement in the world's spiritual condition.
The final victory of Christ will not come within history, but beyond it.
The Jewish people will come to recognize Jesus Christ as their Messiah before He returns.
The dead will be raised.
Christ will judge the living and the dead, and the Evil One and his allies will at last be utterly overthrown.
At the end of time, God's kingdom will come in its fullness, and all things will be renewed.
The hope of God's coming kingdom should not tempt us to withdraw from earthly affairs.
In the meantime, Christ's presence with us through His Word, His Sacraments, and His Spirit draw us closer to the fulfillment of His promise.
I also watched the White video and after the class of the wishy washy young adult leaders (ha I think they are my age or perhaps within 10 years of my age) I'm not sure he's all that off base with his comment of Christian's not being able to label evil evil. ugh. I can't wait for our class to restart-this class is making me crazy. Between the leader saying "that saying the Nazi ideology coming from Darwin is a bit of a stretch" (we've been watching the movie Expelled in parts) to one of the other members saying that as Christians we were only supposed to concentrate on witnessing to others and changing one person at a time (not sure what he does with the verse that we are to be salt and light which I believe in the context of that talk Christ was talking about the culture and the discussion was about abortion) ha. our teacher, his wife, hubby and I and one of the other men have decided we are trouble makers :-) and need to go back to our own class.
getting back to the White video I didn't think it was all that doom and gloom.
Marge
our last pastor was an amillennialist. this one at least appears to believe in a Rapture I think. that part of the conversation was a little fuzzy.
pray for us as we decide whether to serve as a deacon couple
For those who are still interested in the James White video here is that link again. One very interesting comment he made was that the type of supreme court judges Obama would appoint would be God's wrath on us. (Not His day of the Lord wrath because that is going to be all encompassing.) As men continue to suppress the truth and no longer acknowledge God, God will give them over to depraved minds. You do what you do and feel what you feel because you think what you think. We need to be saturating ourselves in the Word so that we think righteously and therefore do that which is righteous and pleasing to the Lord, and that is speaking the truth against evil with boldness. And it is going to eventually cost us...
But read Romans 8 because the story has a fabulous ending!
Now, I'm going to post a link simply as an FYI. There is a subsection on the main page under Causes that is called "Peace in the Middle East."
Change.org
Remember, keep your eyes on Jesus because focusing too much on the "Change" that may be ahead can get our eyes off of the one and only true Messiah. We wrestle not against flesh and blood...
You all know the rest.
Kathy,
Thanks, I needed that. Romans 8 that is.
Romans 8:28-39
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
That's one of those passages that catch my breath Jim G!
Let your satisfaction always be in the greatness of God and His promises. He is then glorified and you will experience the greatest joy!
Jib,
I'm in agreement with you, (prayer of agreeement) that the Lord will reveal His perfect will for you, and your husband, if you are to become a deacon couple. A pretty huge responsibility, by the sounds of it, for you both.
I've always been told to consider #1-#3:
1. God
2. family
3. church
Remember God established the family, before the church.
Just something to consider.
From Jim G’s link. I found this commentary interesting:
John Darby, founder of the Plymouth Brethren, put forth the Pre-Tribulation Rapture theory around 1830 after traveling to northern Scotland to meet with Margaret McDonald, a woman in who (sic) had a "vision" during a serious illness. This "vision" convinced her that Christ would come in two stages. (This was near the time Joseph Smith wrote the book of Mormon because of a "vision") Prior to that, no theologian or denomination had ever suggested a "two stage" coming of Christ; not Martin Luther, not Calvin, not Wycliff. The Early Church Fathers never suggested Christ would come again in two stages.
The author’s mention of Joseph Smith with MM’s “serious illness” attempts to devalue John Darby’s teaching without resorting to Scriptural rebuttal. It should also be noted that most Rabbinical scholars would beg to differ on the Christian view that the Bible teaches two comings of the Messiah in the OT – yet there is! It’s also a pity that the author wasn’t a little more scholarly in researching Darby/McDonald for himself rather than parroting someone else’s polemics. Copies of McDonald’s vision are readily available to read. Here’s one of many articles that show Margaret held nothing like a pretrib view (in fact she was probably posttrib) yet people consistently slander Darby - who was actually a careful scholar - by claiming he derived it from her.
The Revelation of the Coming
(Margaret Macdonald's Revelation)
Also this.
Note especially:
I saw the people of God in an awfully dangerous situation, surrounded by nets and entanglements, about to be tried, and many about to be deceived and fall. Now will THE WICKED be revealed, with all power and signs and lying wonders, so that if it were possible the very elect will be deceived. - [This is the fiery trial which is to try us. - It will be for the purging and purifying of the real members of the body of Jesus]; but Oh it will be a fiery trial. Every soul will be shaken to the very centre. The enemy will try to shake in every thing we have believed - but the trial of real faith will be found to honour and praise and glory. Nothing but what is of God will stand. The stony-ground hearers will be made manifest - the love of many will wax cold.
Also note this:
[The trial of the Church is from Antichrist. It is by being filled with the Spirit that we shall be kept].
Hardly pretrib.
New post is up.
JIB, also praying and agreeing with you in prayer.
