"How are we to handle this sword of 'It is written'? First, with deepest reverence. Let every word that God has spoken be law and gospel to you. Never trifle with it; never try to evade its force or change its meaning. God speaks to you in this book as much as if he came to the top of Sinai and lifted up his voice with thunder.
I like to open the Bible and pray, 'Lord God, let the words leap off the page into my soul; make them vivid, powerful, and fresh to my heart.'"
Our Lord Himself felt the power of the Word. It was not so much the devil who felt the power of 'It is written" as Christ Himself. The manhood of Christ felt an awe of the Word of God, and so the Word became a power to Christ. To trifle with Scripture is to deprive yourself of its aid. Reverence it, and look up to God with devout gratitude for having given it to you.

Absolutely awesome post!

excellent post and great advice!
Good morning everyone!
Awesome post Mr Hyde!
Did you get a little help from Mac on this one?
Mac,
You know I didn't quote that Psalms 31 money interpretation.
(Click the link w/it)
I don't quite know what to make of the long term implications-if any. But it was a neat story.
Dafur & Israelis make music
Prayers for Joel's comment section-OK.
When ever I get upset by posts or comments in the cave I've found a new way to handle the stress.
Give this a try:
STRESS THERAPY
Lisa - Thanks SO much for the bubbles!!! I LOVE jumping on those!
I'm going to send to all my folks at work - we're all so stressed today, we're ready to hold hands & jump off a bridge together :-(
I think I'll wait till tomorrow to send out - don't want distractions
tttssssss pttch ~whip cracking~
Mr. HYDE, you just posted one of my favorite authors and teachers. I know that everyone wants to see a famous person when we all get to heaven but I want to tell Charles Spurgeon just how much his walk with the Lord has meant to all of us, long after he left to be with the Lord.
Thank you!
Grany
Shalom, all! Joel has a new post up. If you've read it already but before 11:12AM Eastern time, go back and reload the page, because he added a lot of material. Before, it was just talking about the Epicenter Conference; now it has a lot of material on a trip Putin is making to Libya. Putin is promising to sell Libya $2.5 Billion worth of weapons, and both Putin and Kadhafi are talking about the need to reform the UN to address an "imbalance of forces."

LIFE WITH ADD
So I powered up my PC this morning intending to check Joel's for new posts (there was one), Mr. Hyde's for messages, and check my email, but first I need to check my web cartoons (can't face the day without 'em). One of them is "Little Dee" by Chris Baldwin, about a non-verbal little girl who got lost in the woods and is being raised by Ted (a vegetarian bear), Blake (a friendly non-too-bright dog), and Vachel (a vulture always looking for a way to make quick money -- he once sold/rented Dee out to a herd of sheep to use for modeling their woolens catalog). This week is their salute to book clubs and reading (who else would have thought to do a double story with "Anna Karinina" and "Thomas the Tank Engine" -- they both have trains in them, don't they?)
The storyline reminded me of a series of strips Mr. Baldwin did in October with a sea shanty about knitting called "We Rogues of Wool". His brother, a musician, put the shanty to music, and the next thing you know, there's a YouTube video featuring the strips and the shanty. (WARNING: the song is catchy. I sent the URL to my ex-wife, thinking she'd enjoy it because her mom is such a knitter. She told me it was "OK but nothing special". A month later, she called me to cuss me out because a day wasn't going by where she didn't find herself singing "Oh, Vachel sails on woolly sheep!") I couldn't remember if I'd shared it with all of you before, so I pulled up YouTube to find it. On the front page of YouTube, there's a link called "The Raven by Poe presented by 18 Youtubers". 18 people each took one stanza of Poe's "The Raven" and recited it, each adding their own interpretation. Liking Poe, of course I had to click on it. (WARNING: the video is a little over 10 minutes long.) It's a little uneven, but overall, excellent!
So now, after watching that, I still have to remember why I went onto YouTube in the first place (Oh, yeah! Rogues of Wool!), find the video, and post the link on Mr. Hyde's. After a few false starts (there's a German group called Rogue that has some interesting videos, and I definitely have to go back later and hear "The Raven" read by Christopher Walken), I finally found the video. I check back and see that Joel has updated his web page again, so I have to read that and click on some of the news links, then set about composing this message and wonder where the morning went.
I swear I took my meds this morning...

Shalom, all.
This person REALLY needs our prayers:
Yale Student Artificially Inseminates Herself, Tapes Miscarriages For Art Project
I had to get this from Huffington Post because the Yale site (of the original news story) can't seem to load the page.

Hi Jim,
Total agreement about the Yale student....and to think she used multiple rounds of IUIs to acheive pregnancy. I'm wondering how she paid for it or if some clinic donated their services. Not a cheap procedure! I noticed that NARAL wouldn't respond to the story. I've often thought things couldn't get worse, but this is a new low by many steps. Makes you wonder what the world will be like when things are handed over to evil completely.
About ADD...we often tease my mom about her having it, too. My dad calls it chasing bunnies. She'll be in the middle of a conversation and then suddenly say something about something totally off-topic. Dad will chirp, "There's goes another bunny!" We even found her a t-shirt with a similar message on it. It says "I've been doing really well lately controlling my ADD. Things seem to be, oh, did you see that rabbit run by?" LOL! I'm sure I have a mild case, too, but I've learned to cope by being a copious note-maker. Post-its are my best friends :-)
Blessings,
Jen
Update on Syria
Hi Jim,
I found the original Yale article at WorldNetDaily. It has additional details on it. The crazy thing is that the entire project is legal!
I can only pray that this young woman will come to know the Lord as her Savior by some encounter that this 'exhibit' produces (she couldn't possibly know Him and do this.) And perhaps others who see it will think long and hard about what they are seeing and what it means to make that choice about the unborn. How do you get to that point where you plan the deaths of your own children? Many prayers needed there.
Blessings,
Jen
Nate, you asked if Libya isn't part of the Gog/Magog thriller in Ez. 38-39. Yep! I did a real daring thing (for me that is) and linked onto the CIA info on Libya and it is well worth a read. I kept thinking I hope none of those guys in trench coats sees me here. Then I realized that my web address is now a permanent record there. The information was very interesting and a lot of it we all ready know but I would love to read the things they know that they aren't telling any of us.
Putin is the one I am very interested in watching and I really believe he will live up to his name. Also, Prime Minister Brown is in Washington, DC getting better acquainted with our president. Life is getting so very interesting and so much happening all at the same time. Wish I was younger.
Love you all and still praying Donna for your Windfall to over take you and hubby.

Hi Guys,
Been a tough week and a half between hospital, running around kids school, homework, running a home and trying to keep the business going. Praise God that I have a fellow Christian brother who is my partner and has kept most of the business in check! Have not been to my office in this whole time and have missed reading all the posts and following what is happening in ME. This is the first time I am going on line and I am at home in the middle of the night trying to catch up. Sleep is not easy at the moment.
My wife Adi came through her operation with flying colours but has stage 3 renal cancer. The doctors removed her kidney and surrounding lymph nodes which were malignant. No further treatment for the next 2 months, praise The Lord. She is going to have a chest x-ray and have her blood tested every 2 months for the next year and a MRI scan every 4 months for the same period, so we are in for a long roller coaster ride. Thanks very much for the prayers and please continue to hold Adi and the Kids up to Abba Father. He is working on her and doing wonders.
Hope all are well.
God Bless
jeri
Jen, Shalom! You wrote:

From the quotes I read, no medical help or aid was ever sought. The abortifacient drugs she took were "legal and herbal" (i.e., over-the-counter stuff bought at the local natural food store). As for the insemination process, again, since this was a "do-it-yourself" kinda thing, my guess is that she used the turkey-baster method. (I'll leave the details to your imagination.)
What I find disturbing is that she doesn't refer to the fathers as "donors" but as "fabricators." There's a discussion of this over on Catholic Forums (as you might imagine -- that's where I first heard about this). One person pointed out that since this is approved by the University (through her senior art advisor), if she had suffered any medical complications she could sue the University (her parents could do so anyway.) Another person wondered if this meant that the human skin lampshades made at Buchenwald would also count as art, and a third person made the following points:
1) Does Yale philanthropist and trustee, Mr. Holcombe T. Green, Jr. (of Forbes' 400-wealthiest Americans list), realize his nice new art gallery has become a charnel house?
2) The Yale administration is at least 50% responsible for this grotesque abomination -- they should be helping this poor young woman find healing, not enabling her dysfunction.
3) As is typical with the abortion topic, this article uses quite a few euphemisms. An induced-abortion is called a "miscarriage", fathers are called "donors", conception is called "insemination". The babies blood is never mentioned at all, only Ms. Shvarts' blood.
4) Were I another senior-class artist at Yale, I would absolutely refuse to have my art displayed alongside this horror show. And should that mean failing to graduate, the administration would be hearing from my lawyers.
5) All of them desperately need our prayers. Specifically: Aliza Shvarts, the mother who killed her children for art's sake. Juan Castillo, her classmate who was "intrigued" by and "thrilled" by and "loved" Ms. Shvarts' work (one wonders if he is a father of one or more of the sacrificed babies). Pia Lindman, her senior-project "advisor", who should have stopped this outrage, but presumably encouraged it. Mr. Holcombe Green, Jr., who ought to have some power to prevent the building with his name on it being abused in this way. And finally, all the children who were so needlessly sacrificed at Yale, nameless and numberless. Pray for them that our Lord might open their hearts, bring healing to their suffering souls, and bring good out of this terrible evil.
I am SO glad that my daughter won't be going to art school there!

Good to hear from you, Jeri. We're still praying for you all.
Jeri - thank you for the update. You & Adi have been in my thoughts & prays a lot.
May I offer a suggestion? Too bad, I'm going to anyway ;-)
Have Adi completely cut out any & all sugar from her diet (includes artificial) & to really limit protein consumption.
Maybe you should look up Nutritional Therapy on the web too.
NO sugar - No (or very little) protein VERY important right now!!!
God bless you both & the girls too.
Hi Jim,
I don't need to imagine much, having been through the process several times (IUIs, I mean). Interesting that she was worried enough about contracting STDs to have the male donors tested periodically.
If she indeed did the process completely on her own and didn't work with a medical facility, I can't tell you the amount of danger she put herself in, just in getting pregnant, not to mention the possibility of problems during the pregnancies and then during the losses. A big cause of infections in women is incomplete miscarriage and it can happen sometimes even after a regular, full-term birth. My best friend nearly died after the birth of her 2nd baby because she didn't deliver all the placenta and it caused a terrible infection in her that wasn't detected until over a week later. She was nearly in septic shock by the time they figured out what was going on.
I'm still not sure I can process this story wholly.
Blessings,
Jen
Jeri from SA, Shalom! You and your family are in my prayers. I will undertake a "novena" (a series of prayers over nine days) to G_D in the name of St. Peregrine Laziosi, who is the patron of cancer patients. He was born in 1260 in Italy to a wealthy family. In his youth, he led a wild (and some say violent) life. He came to Christ after he attacked a priest and the priest simply turned and offered him the other cheek. After spending years working with the sick and poor, he was afflicted with cancer of the foot. The night before the scheduled amputation, he had a vision of Christ on the Cross reaching out a hand to touch his foot; he was immediately cured of cancer and went on to live a long life, dying of old age. May G_D grant it so with your wife, also.

The Deniers - (Climate Change)
IT'S A HOAX!
A Yale student’s bizarre art project in which she claimed to have repeatedly impregnated and induced abortions in herself is a work of "creative fiction," the university said in a statement this afternoon.
"Ms. Shvarts is engaged in performance art," a Yale spokeswoman, Helaine Klasky, said. "She stated to three senior Yale University officials today, including two deans, that she did not impregnate herself and that she did not induce any miscarriages. The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction designed to draw attention to the ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman’s body."
Ms. Klasky went on to suggest that Yale would not have permitted a project of the sort described in the student newspaper. "Had these acts been real, they would have violated basic ethical standards and raised serious mental and physical health concerns."
I am both relieved and truly befuddled about this young woman. I shudder to think what the fallout from her "performance art" will be.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled reality.
<><
WHEW~~~~!
Needless to say that type of imagination will fit in real well with the present mind set of the world of surreal life.
What next?
Grany
Jim, I was addressing my last remark to you about the Yale student.
I just got up from a nap and found a warm, gray furry kitty on my lap. I couldn't figure out why I was so warm and now I know.
JERI, I am praying for all of you and those who have come along side of you to help. I know it is difficult but it is do-able. Wish I was there to help you physically but beings I can't be, I am praying that God will bring the right person along side of you who believes in the power of the Holy Spirit and walks in the anointing.
Shalom friend,
Grany
Thank you Grany, you all have no idea how much it means to me to know you are praying for us.
I am such a nervous wreck! Usually I try to remain in God's rest, but it is not always easy!
I guess I am in the fear and trembling mode.
Please continue to pray for all of us. Thank you so much.
Jeri, you all are in our thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry you all are going thru this tough time.
He allows and uses these tough times, but they are tough goiing thru.
Maranatha!
Dear G_D Almighty -- it might not be a hoax.
University calls art project a fiction; Shvarts '08 disputes Yale's claim
But Shvarts reiterated Thursday that she repeatedly use a needleless syringe to insert semen into herself. At the end of her menstrual cycle, she took abortifacient herbs to induce bleeding, she said. She said she does not know whether or not she was ever pregnant.

District bans 'John 3:16,' promotes demonic leer - Court filing seeks elimination of penalties for Christian art
Donna, still praying for you all.
Hi Guys,
Thanks so much for your continued prayers and support. I have still not managed to catch up on any posts yet but will try when I am more relaxed and have the time! We are waiting for Adi to come home and pray that it will be soon.
Mac – thanks, my brother. Hope all is well in Oz and no more wind storms.
Alesia – thanks for the heads up. I am going have to do plenty of research on renal cancer, life with one kidney, special diets, treatments for renal cancer and much more so if you want to share anything, please do!
Gran – wish you were here to give spiritual help and guidance.
Donna – will hold you and your family up in prayer and pray the fear and trembling away.
Jim – thanks for the prayers and brief history on St. Peregrine Laziosi, I love history!
What is the train of thought on the destruction of Damascus, as that has not happened as yet? I find Jim's article and discussion very sad on the 'art' project, to think that is what the miracle of life has now become in this world of today. Where is the reverence and respect of life and God? As in the times of Noah!
Have blessed days ahead.
jeri.
mac,
I loved the article on the Global Warming hoax. If I didn't already have 3 books on debunking Global Warming, I would have to buy the book that they talk about in the article.
This article really made my day:
Global temperatures 'to decrease'
I was just on the USGS checking out the earthquake situation. There are 325 earthquakes currently on the 7 day map. This is the highest I have ever seen it. It is very rare for this map to have over 300 quakes on it.
Latest Earthquakes in the World - Past 7 days
Have you all heard of the 4.5 in Southern Illinois in the last couple of hours? Felt in Chicago and CBS2 (http://cbs2chicago.com/local/earthquake.downstate.illinois.2.702914.html) has live coverage
Reuter's identified it as a 5.4 in Illinois.
Did anyone here feel it?
More on the earthquake...
The quake is believed to have involved the Wabash fault, a northern extension of the New Madrid fault about 6 miles north of Mt. Carmel, Ill., said United States Geological Survey geophysicist Randy Baldwin
5.2 earthquake rocks large region of Midwest
John
Hmmm....
John, I don't see anything on the Earthquake Map... Any news about the fault that goes through the Niagara River system?
<><
my folks who live reasonable close to Cinnci didn't feel it at all. of course they both sleep pretty soundly and snore like freight trains :-)
interesting about the amount of earthquakes and even the normally silent New Madrid fault being active. It really makes you wonder about how far apart the contractions really are!
They just had another earthquake one hour ago.....4.5
13 km (8 miles) E (81°) from West Salem, IL
14 km (8 miles) W (275°) from Allendale, IL
15 km (10 miles) NE (48°) from Bone Gap, IL
68 km (42 miles) NNW (336°) from Evansville, IN
207 km (129 miles) E (92°) from St. Louis, MO
technically they've had 3 in the last 24 hours.
All that snoring was bound to cause some kind of commotion! lol
I was asleep but it was felt here in TN and all the way down to Atlanta.
Lisa
Lori
LOL!!!!!
they felt it down south too. just goes to show that when (i've decided when not if) the new madrid goes it's going to be devestating and rock a rather significant portion of the country!
an interesting time for the New Madrid to go would be the world wide earthquake that happens in conjunction with Gog and Magog.
My husband asked me this morning why I had mentioned the New Madrid Fault in our conversations of just this past Wednesday. I didn't know anything about this new earthquake yet and was in the middle of eating breakfast. I explained about Jim's blog comments just the day or two prior and how we had studied the New Madrid fracture a year ago last May or June.
Then he told me about the quake this morning and while we were eating, the news caster said there had been an after shock of 4.5. Well, his eyes got real big and he said "just what is taking place on that blog?". I told him we are all undercover agents for the Kingdom and when Jim says shake, the rattling starts. But when the King says come up here, we are all going to fly away. Well, that lead to a very interesting conversation and a few more seeds were planted. Now, I have to resist overwatering the Bone Dry Hard Soil they were planted in. I gets weary and tired of trying, but old man river, he just keeps rolling along. JIM, is that a sign of ADD! Just playing with ya.
Anyway, hubby is very curious right now and keeps looking at me in a very odd way. I don't blame him one little bit because I would feel the same way if I was unsaved and he was the one talking about things that all of a sudden happened out of the ordinary. The odd thing about all of this is I have never been one who was too interested in earthquakes, volcano eruptions, etc. A year ago all of that changed and it was very sobering for me. Now I do feel that the USA is going to be held in judgment by God and it will be done in nature. In fact, I believe it started with Katrina in earnestness.
My reasons are very basic. I am one of those who sees the glass half full and then fills it to the brim. I am not a fearful person by nature and I love giving. I really mean that. I don't know whether God frowns or not but I don't want to be the cause of it if he does. Giving lets my Spirit sing love songs to my Abba Father. He knows it too. So, when I have a very serious dream or warning type thing happen, it gets my attention real quick.
But to live in fear is not faith at its best. In fact, it is the complete opposite. If God brought you to it, he will bring you through it and will glorify His Name in doing so. If earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes with all of the resultant destruction come, and your prayers don't stop them in their tracks, God had to allow it to be. Not a sparrow falls to the ground without His permission. Job could not be destroyed but every thing that kept him from his relationship of faith could be and was. In the end, Job glorified God and entrusted everything to Him. Job finally got the true picture and relationship with Abba Father.
We have to do the same thing! He is God and we are not!
Love you all and telling you SHALOM just shouts it from the highest mountains; God Bless you All.
Grany
I live in Northern Ohio & didn't feel a thing. Of course, if it was while I was sleeping, my bed could have flown out the window & I wouldn't have felt it. :-)
REMINDER:
The Ben Stein "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" opens today.
I'm going to see it tonight & will let everyone know if it was any good.
Although, I'm so exhausted, I hope I don't go into the cozy, dark theater & fall asleep!
ALESIA, I would suggest drinking a can of Pepsi's high octane caffeine pop and then going to the theater. That way you can then come back to the Cave and type into the wee hours, beings tomorrow is Saturday and that should be a free day for you. Even if you do have to work, you will feel that surge of energy cruising through your veins and nothing shall stand in your way to the top of the heap. Nothing can stop Super Woman!
I can vouch for the Super Drink of Pepsi. Jim and I went to FT. Smith for a day of shopping and they were giving samples of the drink away. It was hot, humid and our van air conditioner quit us that day. I downed that can like it was water and the race was on. Jim didn't drink of it and all he did was stand with his arms crossed watching me, wound up like a spring and laughing. I washed, waxed, vacuumed our van, cleaned the white walls on the tires, polished the chrome and did the windows all within 60 minutes. Went shopping and talked with everyone at the mall, had my hair cut and helped my operator wash the hair of two little girls. Yes, I have a license in that too. Took my new camera to the park, shot pics of everyone one there. We were back home by 6 pm and then I got dinner for us and cleaned the grill. But I slept good that night and most of the next day. Needless to say, I haven't had another can of that pop since then.
I am looking forward to your report.
Love you greatly,
Grany
I saw the earthquake report on Drudge and immediately came here to see if you guys were talking about it.
It's amazing to read one of Jim's scenarios about a midwest earthquake, and then a few days later have an actual earthquake rattling the region.
It's even more amazing to read prophecies in the Bible and then watching them unfold live! Imagine when the real fireworks start! Imagine when we finally meet Jesus face to face!!
Wilma -
You crack me up!
I particularly like Red Bull and especially Monster Loca Moca energy drinks. Unfortunately, I promised someone I wouldn't drink them anymore, cause their not really good for you. A promise is a promise! Rats! I miss my Moca Loca :-(
Love you greatly right back!
Alesia, Shalom!
What I've found to be a good substitute for stuff like Mocha Loca, etc., is something you can make at home, and are DELICIOUS!
Chocolate-covered coffee beans.
Take half-a-bag of chocolate chips and two Hershey bars, melt in a double-boiler. (The Hershey's cuts some of the bitter of the coffee beans.) Pour whole roasted coffee beans into the chocolate mixture and stir. Keep adding coffee beans and stirring until the all the chocolate has coated all the beans. Spread the beans out on waxed paper, separating them, and let cool.

grany,
The post about your husband just made my day!
I think mine is saved but oh boy, the ground needs even more plowing.
We've been plowed for the last three years (Praise the Lord on high!)
So I can completely relate to your enduring patience.
The Lord is moving upon us all & how we are being further blessed with all these continuing testimonies.
Lisa
Jim, Thanks for the recipe, I will definately make those. They should come with a warning. If you pop 5 or more, you can expect a rush like never before.
Ah, legal addictive stimulants!
Actually, I've never tried an energy drink other than coffee. It makes me nervous thinking about it because I'm sensitive to caffeine, so I go easy on it.
I'm listening to Andrew Wommack. Has anyone ever heard of him. He's finishing up a teaching called, "God wants you well."
He doesn't charge for his tapes. He takes a love offering so everyone can hear the word.
They're sharing a testimony of a little girl in England who was dying with a rare disease. Her body rejected proteins, so she was starving to death and in horrible pain.
A healing tape was sent in the
90's and lost in the mail and showed up at their home in England in 2006. It's an amazing testimony if any of you are interested.

Jim - I take it this is a PRE Weight Watchers recipe? LOL
Sounds delicious, but I must obstain. I'm on a mission to get super healthy & fit, chocolate doesn't fit into that goal plan too well!
Alesia, dark chocolate is supposed to be very good for your heart and also your mind. You won't MIND not eating anything with Chocolate on it, in it, or under it. That leaves me with lots of ways to stay healthy and happy! Happy heart, happy Wilma.
Lori, caffeine does strange things to me too. It wakes me up, and charges my eight cell battery. But, I have sworn off of hard drinks after my last ordeal a year ago as I related previously.
By the way, I have a wonderful friend who makes alcohol free Kahlua Pie. Oh, my! She even uses decaf in it, oh My! But the whipped cream is real! The crust is made with egg white meringue and it is fab.
Love from ole fatty,
Grany
Hey Lisa,
Left you a note at my place.
Blessings,
Jen
Jen,
I also left you another note-update! (Probably at the same time!)
Lisa
Alesia, Shalom! Yes, this is pre-Weight-Watchers, but it shouldn't be a problem. The hardest part would be figuring out how many points the coffee beans are worth. Since coffee itself has 0 points, you could just assume the beans have 0 points also. That just leaves the chocolate. Since you know how much went in, you'll know the total number of points and can figure out how many points each bean (or 5 beans, or whatever) are worth.

Hey, Jim, are you exercising at all? I'm asking because exercise helps to lift your metabolic rate so that when you reduce your calories, the weight loss is more likely to be all body fat rather than losing some muscle tissue.
My husband just got back from seeing Ben Stein's movie. He said it is an incredible documentary, a must see! He said the parallels are astonishing between things that happened in the past with Nazism and communism and the Darwinists of today who are trying to squelch the freedom of thought. (Can you tell who the deep thinker is in my family?!) I hope to go see it next week sometime.
Nate, don't be disappointed! We are supposed to be a peculiar people and set aside so that the Glory of God may be seen in us. The problem I have is that most Christians that I know look just exactly like the world and even act like them. However, I do believe that before we exit this stage, we will all be without spot or blemish. But Nate, it is important to keep on shining and giving light to a dark and dying world.
Just keep doing what you are doing because you are turning the lights all the way up.
I have learned something in this world that I didn't really want to learn. When people no longer see the light they become light sensitive. They prefer the darkness because sudden illumination hurts. Please, don't let it grow dark.
Just my thoughts for the evening.
Grany Kitty Kat helped me with this. Not much help but she sure is purring.
Hi friends,
Kinderquilt, here. I think I may have lost my blogger account because I haven't been there for months :(, so I'm not in blue. But it's really me.
Anyway, Jib asked me to come by and post about my trip to Israel with Joel Rosenberg. One word: Incredible! Words can't explain the feelings coursing through me as I walked in the footsteps of our Lord and savior. I walked at Ceasaria Phillipi, the Garden of Gestemane, the Dead Sea, Mt. of Olives, Jerusalem and sailed on the Sea of Galilee. The fellowship with 191 other believers in Christ was more than words can convey. We came from all over the US and Canada, from different church families and from all walks of life, but we had one thing in common: we all love and follow Jesus. There were several worship services with Joel (and his brother-in-law as worship leader). These were amazing! Joel is quite the gifted speaker, as well as writer, and he held us captive despite the wind and often cold temperatures. One day, an Israeli TV news team followed us around trying to get the scoop on the Joshua Fund. We went on a humanitarian relief mission one day (see details at Joel's site) and one place was to Sederot near the Gaza Strip. This town is bombarded with kazzam missiles daily. I heard about the possibility of going there and knew immediately that I wanted to go so a friend and I asked about it.Jeremy Grafton (a JF board member) asked us what bus we were on...we said bus #2. He said that "just happended" to be the bus that was scheduled to go. We knew it was ordained that we go. That was an incredible experience. We brought a kitchen supply gift to these women, most of whom could not speak English. We met them and the Rabbi in a building that was safe from rockets, but it was sobering, anyway. The women presented a certificate of appreciation to the local relief group that Joel is working with (Bridges for Peace), then they visited with us. These women were so brave to bring their children out to say "thank you" to us...it brought a lump to my throat. What courage and perseverence!I will never forget them.
The Epicenter Conference (go to Epicenter08.com) was amazing. There were over 3,000 seats there and most were filled with people of all ages, colors, nationalities, churches and non-churched, coming together to support the state of Israel. The speakers were excellent and as Joel said, there was even a Rabbi (I think he was the head rabbi of the Temple Institute, the group that is preparing for the building of the third temple), who went up to Joel and hugged him!Israelis love him because he is so passionate about supporting Israel and her neighbors, no strings attached.
Joel is everything we expect him to be: he is down to earth, compassionate, passionate about Israel, a loving family man, devoted to his wife, Lynn, sincere, gracious and caring. I even saw him skip dinner one night because a person in our group wanted to talk with Joel about something. He met with the person before dinner, but ended up talking late and skipped dinner, knowing that he would be addressing the whole group after dinner, then going to do an interview with the Glenn Beck show at 9:30. That's dedication and compassion for the needy. NOTE: Whatever posts you may have seen at Joel's website that appear to be him, DO NOT BELIEVE IT! He rarely gets to post his own news, nevermind writing stupid (pardon my bluntness) posts that hurt people. I watched him all during our trip, when he didn't know I was watching. (I like to watch people, so I did a lot of that, not just with Joel.) He is a loving husband, a doting father, a gracious host and an all-around friendly guy. I had opportunity to talk with him about his blogspot and he assured me he does not post in the comment section. He encouraged me to tell my fellow bloggers to start our own blog (which you have and we are at right now :) ), and let him know. He didn't promise to visit there, but he would be happy to know we are doing that. He was encouraged to see that we have a little community going there where we can talk and share prayer requests and build each other up in the Body of Christ. It saddened him to have to shut down the comment section again. So, keep posting!
Anyway, I felt safe in Israel and would go back in a heartbeat. If ever any of you get to go, do it. You won't be disappointed.
That's all I can say right now. Thanks, Mr. Hyde, for letting me take up all this space :) Kinderquilt
Grany, why wasn't your name blue this time?
I just saw Expelled. Very, very good! I'm going again this weekend and taking my daughter who will appreciate it but watches her pennies so can't always afford to go to the movies. It was entertaining, thought provoking and sobering.
Kinderquilt, thanks for the update. I badly want to visit Israel someday and see the places you've mentioned. I always wanted to take my daughters there, but alas that isn't likely.
I have begun to listen to the conference but have been too busy to get very far. I hope it remains available for awhile so I can finish.
I can't find my GreatGrany5 password AND I'm using my laptop in the front room. My computer in the kitchen is going through it's monthly period of cleaning up and I can't access it until it is finished. I don't want any one to be freaked out about it so I will tell you I hate my new laptop and I am going to find a good home for it pronto.
Jeri, if you were closer or I could find a way to do it, I would send this laptop to you in a heart beat. I know it is just me growing old but I like a real key board and also, I like to sit back a ways from my monitor and really get comfortable. Feet on the table like a power broker on the stock market does, grab a cup of good coffee and surf the web.
I have to keep my feet on the floor, my puter on my lap, keyboard that is completely foreign to my fingers and then remember I have to look at the screen in a different angle. Jeri, got any suggestions! I am serious! Very serious!
But it is me Anne and for the life of me I can't remember my secret password. Little green aliens again.
Love you all and a big SHALOM
Grany
I knew it was you, Grany, who else has your wit and wisdom?? Because this blogging stuff is relatively new to me, I just thought the little green aliens had stolen the color right out of your name...or that something weird was happening to our cave/refuge.
Say, Nate, speaking of cave, we give new meaning to cavemen and cave women, don't we.
Believe it or not there were several people up here in London, Ontario who reported feeling that 5.2 magnitude quake that was centered in Illinois this morning. If you check a map, we are a long way from the epicenter. I just checked the USGS again and there are now 336 quakes reported in the last 7 days.
Kinderquilt, that was an awesome update. Thank you very much.
Good night everyone! Keep the porch light on Mr. Hyde! Never know when Jesus is coming but it is supposed to be at the midnight hour. Have a good day where ever you are and
SHALOM
Grany
btw
Kinderquilt emailed to say it really was her who posted even though she wasn't in blue. I sent her blog address but me thinks she forgot her password :-)
Anyone have thoughts on this one?

Do you think this new law would filter down the line and eventually apply to Christians?
Don't know but sounds fishy.
Pshychics in Britain
"The government said the new regulations form part of a European Union directive that is meant to harmonize unfair trading laws across the EU. It will introduce a ban on traders "treating consumers unfairly".
"The British Humanist Association, a charity which campaigns against religion and supernatural beliefs, said stricter regulations were overdue because the current laws don't work."
I think I just might get this game:

A Few Rambling Thoughts
Babylon:
Many, including prophecy scholars, have talked about Babylon arising in the last days as a great power. But I watched an interesting video that mentioned how in Jeremiah 51: 26 & 37 and Isaiah 13: 20 & 21 that Babylon will "never" be inhabited again. I know many think this is a future event and maybe it is, but I'm not sure. Cyrus of the Medes conquered Bablylon on October 13, 539 BC and according to Isaiah 13: 17, God said he would stir up the Medes against Babylon. Many other verses in this chapter indicate it is talking about Cyrus. I know God says "he" is commanding those things, but that's how he describes it when he has others doing his bidding like when he says he will put a hook in the jaw of Gog in Eze 38:4. I also know there are verses in these chapters mentioning "day of the lord". but I'm reading that this sometimes only refers to a day of God's judgement, not that one particular day of the lord. I've seen significant translation errors before between NIV and KJV, so I'm a little reluctant to take either at face value without more research.
If Babylon's desolation is a past event, then all the talk of waiting for the rebuilding of Babylon to gauge how close we are to the "end of days" is unnecessary and we may be closer than we think.
One thing that would clinch it is to find out if there was a massive earthquake approximate October 13, 539 BC as mentioned in Isaiah 13:13. If there was, it's a far greater likihood that Babylon being desolate forever was a past event. I know there are U.S. soldiers there now, but it's a small group and in numbers no greater than any Bedouin encampment in the desert elsewhere that could also be characterized as a desolate area.
Land of Unwalled Villages
I've read that some have a different take on Eze 38 and that when Gog/Magog is attacking Israel, "another" thought, an after-thought, comes into Gog's mind, "On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind and you will make an evil plan: You will say 'I will go up against a land of unwalled villages, etc.'" (v.10 and 11) Maybe that thought that comes into the minds of the leaders of the Gog/Magog alliance is that while they are attacking Israel they might as well try and take out its biggest ally as well (the U.S.A. - the 'land of unwalled villages.') Google "land of unwalled villages" AND "United States" and you will find some interesting stuff. This could also explain why Russian subs and fighter jets seems to testing out territorial waters and airspace in the last year or so.
How Israel is deceived about their Messiah
If Israel is spiritually blind, then isn't it possible that Israel could be deceived into believing that the aftermath of the "Armageddon like" Eze 38-39 war was in fact the aftermath of the war of Armageddon, which is the war preceding the millenial reign of Christ? If so, wouldn't this explain how Israel might see the antiChrist who supposedly arises out of the Eze 38-39 war as their Messiah? Remember that the results of the war of Eze 38-39 supposedly causes Israel to become spiritually reawakened so they will be primed to believe the antiChrist is their Messiah if they assume that Armageddon just occurred. - Just a thought.
By the way, if anyone knows where there is a calendar of future blood red moons, or if a blood red moon is known by another name, please post the info. Given the prophetical importance of blood red moons, I'd like to know when they are scheduled to re-occur.
God Bless You All
Grumpy
Good to hear from you, Grumpy. I think you make some good points re Israel and the Gog & Magog war and I've had similar thoughts. Tamar & Tovia at Israel National Radio often speak of this war possibly being imminent and that the Messiah will save Israel. They think that that will usher in peace for Israel - period.
Found these links on the red moon. I wonder, though, if when the real thing happens, it will be a supernatural event.

I forgot to say that it's probably impossible to forecast Red Moons too far out forward because the phenomenon is dependant on the atmospheric conditions at the time of the total eclipse.
Prayer: Your first (or last) resort
Grumpy, I'm so glad to see you! Another idea about Babylon I have heard is that it is simply "man's world system". This doesn't make sense to me because there seem to be so many references to it being an actual physical location. What do you (or anyone else) think?
Also, I am wondering if anyone can explain in simple terms what a credit default swap is and why it is such a threat to our economy.
Mac, that was a wonderful article on prayer which I am sending to my sister who is having some personal problems. What a great reminder to spend many hours in prayer.
Morning, Mac!
(At least here on the east
coast :-)
Thank you for that article as well. I found the last paragraph especially to be a good reminder of what we're doing when we pray.
Grumpy, good to hear from you! Every time I read a headline about the unfolding economic troubles, I think of you. You've been right on target alot lately.
About Gog having an afterthought to attack America, if they're in the middle of attacking Israel and see that we don't respond in force, it would certainly seem like the time to do it....perhaps due to our economic downfall or the aftermath of some natural disaster?
Blessings,
Jen
Hi Grumpy,
Thanks for your ramblings.
"Land of Unwalled villages." Now that's an interesting theory. All I've read is how they try to figure out "how" Israel becomes "unwalled."
So the if the "other" thought is an "after thought" that makes perfect sense to me since we know their main target is Isreal then next is the US.
What if we all pray about this & if it's in God's will He may confirm this interpertation? (I just read the power of prayer link)
I've thought for some time that Israel's end time beliefs line up perfectly with the Gog/Magog senario. So does the Islamic end time beliefs.
So it's like another Trinity. The Bible revelations, Israels Beliefs, and the Islamic beliefs all converging togeather at the same time.
Lisa
I am so behind in reading posts but I just read grany's post from
April 18 9:24 and wow so wonderful thank you so much for your wise words.
I am not familiar with the New Madrid Fault and thanks for pointing it out the other day, Jim.
Hello Everyone,
We went to see "Expelled" last night and it is an excellent film! Let's pray that it is a SUCCESS and has a great impact on turning man's thinking about intelligent design around. We can pray for this even though we have even more significant and important issues to also be praying about - our nation's leadership and all of the issues that the country's 'new leader' will have his/her finger on - or won't have his/her finger on!
I've also listened to much of Epicenter08 online, and I know it was a great conference. Having just returned from Israel, it is having quite an impact on my husband and me. We love Israel and stand with Israel spiritually and politically. Like America, they don't always have the wisest of human leaders, but they do have the Lord God Almighty on their side, especially when they line themselves up with His ways and His plans. But...don't we all?...yes, but Israel, especially when they are being picked on and downtrodden by the Lord's enemies!
I've also been listening to conference speakers who led the Joe VanKoevering conference. Man...great teaching and some pretty powerful comments.
Well, must run. We're off to visit with our daughters who live about 2 hours away.
Blessings! (Mary)
WOw, Greg's Lauries article on prayer being first and last was awesome, Mac. Thanks for posting it!
I just spent time catchin up on these posts and can't tell you what a blessing you all are.
Israel...wow I have always wanted to get there....its so wonderful to hear all about it.
Grumpy..interesting thoughts, espec re: Israel, Ez and the Messiah...and other thoughts on what the unwalled villages might be.
I hope to spend time listening to more of the conference...what I have heard so far was so powerful.
Thanks for all!
Grumpy
1-Babylon is being rebuilt as we speak. It was started with Saddam before this last war even started. To me when the Bible says not inhabited again it means not inhabited again-amount of population being irrelevant.
2-Considering the historical context of Ezekiel, Israel IS currently an land of unwalled villages-no waiting about it. In the day in which the prophecy was written, all major cities had walls around them for defense. Jericho could only be taken when the wall fell down and Jerusalem was captured only after a way was found to breach the wall. The current wall that the Israeli's have while a defensive wall does not enclose a village-it divides two large pieces of land. None of the major cities in Israel at this point in time are encircled by a defensive wall.
3-about Gog and Magog you may well be correct
although one must be careful when citing wikipedia, the article on Babylon notes that it was still inhabited as late as 650 ad with a large active thriving culture.
Hi Grumpy, good to see you again. Hope things have eased a little bit for you and I to think of you at every financial news item.
You know your take on the Jews thinking the Gog/Magog battle was the great Armageddon war is very interesting. Might just be the case. There is cause now to think that the antics of our former peanut farmer will bring all of it to our front door for sure.
Have any of you ever visited this blog? http://soundanalarmprophet.blogspot.com/
He has a very interesting group of comments today and I think you all would be enlightened by reading it. I just had his blog linked on my homepage and his take on the earthquake yesterday (especially with the name of main shock) and Jerusalem is very interesting. Also, if you go there, read what he has to say about David Wilkerson's prophecy.
People, I had a little pause in my spirit about our near future and had more or less been relieved and quiet. I have no idea why but this morning I awoke really, really early and was so sleepy I didn't want to get up and pray. I thought, Wilma you can lay right where you are and still pray just as effectively as any where. Yeah, right! I went to sleep and this morning I am getting my sensor tuned in again.
If you are praying and I trust that you are, please listen to the Holy Spirit's input. You all remember in school plays, if you forgot your lines, a person was in the back ground behind the stage prompting you? Well, look at the Holy Spirit that dwells in each of us and think of the prompting that God sends to us for our edification, direction, revelation and correction. That is just some of the things he does but get accustomed to hearing God's voice.
Yes, God does still talk to us vocally and powerfully. You will not have any doubt when He does talk to you that it is indeed HIM! I used to think people were whacked out of their minds when they would say that God told them something and then one day, He thundered to me a command that actually saved my brothers life. I know that there are people who miss use that saying and are only trying to make you believe their weird behavior is from the Lord but you will know them by their fruit.
I know David Wilkerson very well and I know his heart is truly God beating and purpose driven. He has been a very faithful and righteous man of God all of the years I have known him, in season and out. There is a link on his web site that you can listen to that prophecy which relates in a sermon. I don't know the title but I will search it out if you are interested.
Back Grumpy! You gave me a lot to study and I am getting excited just thinking about it. That earthquake is supposed to happen at the time of Gog/Magog prophecy. Somewhere I was told when we were in Israel the last time, that it was going to be so violent that the whole middle east will be redesigned by its force. For the life of me I cannot find any mention of it in the scriptures. The man who was our guide was highly thought of and held in esteem by Israeli officials. The effects would be in the opposite direction than most earthquake movements. I have no idea where to find the notes I took but I will rewatch the video I did and see if I recorded it at the time. Yeah, I did do that sort of thing and have some fantastic street shots. You know, camera on, slung over my shoulder with the lens pointed to the ground and cobblestones really do photograph nicely. For long periods too.
I have no idea why they never called me from Hollywood! Probably because of my age!
Love you all,
Grany
"Unwalled villages"
I was reading that again and I still think it pertains to Israel because in verse 12 it says:
to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have aquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land.
This could only be Israel and this paragraph is giving you the reason "Why" they are going into the" unwalled villages."
The "after thought" or "another" thought interpertatin I don't know about. What is the word for "thought" mean in the origional language?
Thanks Mac, Anne, Jen, Donna, Grany, Jib, Late Night Lisa and others like Harold who I correspond with directly and frequently, for all your comments and input. I appreciate you all enormously!
Late Night Lisa. I was reading something somewhere recently where someone wrote they think that around the verse you cite, there are "possibly" two things happening simultaneously, the attack on Israel, and the after-thought having to do with taking a spoil.
I'm not saying I think it's one thing or the other. I just like to keep my mind wide open on prophecy related matters. On matters unrelated to the bible, I have a very closed mind ; )
Hope most of you are faring well under the economic circumstances. I know at least one here who isn't and I said a prayer for you. Please all of you get your economic houses in order. I'm not being a chicken little. Things WILL get worse, and much worse.
Grumpy & All,
Followin is a"David Wilkerson" article. I wonder when he wrote it?
If you have not read it it's quite good.
Americas Golden Calf is coming down
This paragraph jumped out at me:
"Yet even in exercising his judgment, God always extends his tender mercy. He works far ahead of time, making plans for his people and stirring his true shepherds. Indeed, today—while most of America focuses on its prosperity—God is waking a holy remnant in the church. These saints are on their faces, seeking him with all their strength and crying out for a true word from the Spirit of truth. And I believe the Spirit is revealing Christ to them with a glory beyond that of any past generation!"
Americas Golden Calf is Coming Down
Would it be okay if I gave this address to my mother-in-law? She loved reading Joel's blog and found the information that bloogers' shared interesting.
She knows it's a private place.
Just let me know.
Ugh, that's supposed to be blogger, but blooger's pretty funny too.
Grumpy, go read Ez 38 in the Peshitta online
It jives with the land of unwalled villages being usa also.
I think that a land where people from many nations have gathered can represent the USA.
We have people from every nationality in this country now.
lori
Shalom, all! Regarding walled cities, if you've studied the history of modern Israel, you'll know that when the Zionists went out to create a settlement, the first thing they did was build a stockade (wall) around where the settlement would be. That was the only way they could keep local Arabs from attacking while they were building.
I went to a student ministry conference today. On the way back, I sat with a woman who told me, "You're going to think that I'm crazy, but God told me to buy seeds, so I bought a bunch of seeds."
I told her I didn't think she was crazy because God told me to buy 40 days worth of food and 100 pounds of flour.
She didn't laugh then.
I don't know why he told me that, but he did and we're obedient.
We're believing that if we're not storing food for ourselves that we are storing it for someone else.
Obedience right now is key.
Like what Wilma said, "listen to the Holy Spirit." Don't question him, just obey.
God told Joel Golden to get a massive boat. He is being obedient.
Whatever it is that God is telling you to do, act on it.
This message is for someone here today. I don't know who, but you do and it's a confirmation.
Lori - Absolutely your mother-in-law can come here! Under one condition... when she gets here, she must introduce herself, so we can give her a proper welcome ;-)
The Ben Stein movie was good.
The first half was pretty cheeky but the second half got really good. I concur with what the others said.
It was totally worth seeing for Ben Stein's interview with Dawkins at the end - he made him look sooo foolish!
I dragged my daughter kicking & screaming to the movie. Afterwards her mouth was going a mile a minute, she really got a lot out of it & was pretty fired up! So, that was completely worth it for me - yippee.
Grany & Jim - Yes, dark chocolate is very good for your heart. I've put myself on a program where, amongst other things, I completely cut out all added sugar (artificial too - except Stevia)for the first (at least) month.
It's really tough - Man, am I counting down the days!!! :-(
Lisa, Shalom! I can tell you that David Wilkerson's essay was written before 2000. Both the Indonesian and the Japanese financial crises he talks about happened in 1998 and 1999
<><
I found another of David Wilkerson's articles that are time worthy right now. Here is the link www.tscpulpitseries.org/english/undated/tswall.html
It is entitled "Wall of Fire" and it sent goose bubbles all over me. Bumps sounds ugly and wicked, so it is bubbles. Anyway, something is up and I found a lot of comfort in this article. A wall of fire surrounding the believers.
I have to run and do errands before it gets dark. Enjoy the time here very much and cherish each and everyone of you.
Grany
I have a ginormous prayer request.
My husband's grandfather moved here from Charlotte NC 21 years ago.
He was is still listed as a member of his church there.
His pastor called him and asked him to spread the word for prayer.
Apparently 3 church members have been murdered in the last week. One was 15, one a deacon, and a 92 year old woman who was a friend of Grandpa.
Two other members of the church were also robbed this week.
I'm not sure why, but this church is certainly under attack.
The name of the church is East Baptist.
Thanks
I think David's book "America's Last Call: On The Brink of a Financial Holocaust" was published around 2000. I have the book but it is hidden from me at the present time. LONG STORY!
Back before the Clinton's left the white house he felt impressed by God to write out the warning he was receiving. I have listened to several of his sermons on his web site trying to find the one on the Earthquake that was mentioned. Even if I don't find it, I am really getting fed the Word and I love it.
Got to go!
Grany
Lori, I am praying for Grandpa's church.
Did any of you read about the church in Birmingham, Alabama that had called for a season of prayer concerning their community. That link I posted to the blog spot of Sound An Alarm has quite an interesting article on it.
We are going out praying and shouting God's praises.
Hallelujah! I can feel a big one coming on!
Grany
Grany,
I did read the sites you referenced.
The one that talked of the music video was disturbing. I'm so glad our tv doesn't get mtv channels.
We get a Christian music tv station which is popular with my kids.
I heard this song called "Yahweh" a few months ago. After we got the new dtv boxes we got so many channels including about 5 Christian stations.
Anyway, I saw the music video for Yahweh. I had envisioned a heavenly scene for the song.
It was more like the Monkees meets the Beatles meets Monty Python. But it is entertaining and the lyrics are good.
The pastor's name of East Baptist is Jon Debell, if you want to pray for him by name.
Thanks again for your prayers.
lisa,grany;
Great stuff from Dave Wilkerson! He is so right about the excesses and sin in the Church. Not to mention the world. I find it hard to look at the evening news anymore.
grumpy; Good to see you back again!
For anyone interested. I wonder if this is the blueprint for the final apostacy religion? Sure sounds like it!
http://www.christianworldviewnetwork.com/article.php/3387/By_Marsha_West
It is a long article but I think it ties together what we see happening with all the false teaching out there.
Some comforting words for troubled times:
Jhn 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.
Jhn 6:40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
God Bless!

God Bless!
Lori, your message about being obedient to the Spirit was for me (maybe someone else, too, but for sure me). I received a very brief message from the Holy Spirit to tell my husband something which was a little cryptic, in my opinion. I was away from him for the afternoon and forgot until I saw your post. When I told him, he said it confirmed something he had been thinking about earlier in the day. Double confirmation!!
I'm praying for the church in Charlotte.
gt, neither link worked for me, but I pasted the second one into google and got it that way. Thanks!
Well first, grumpy it is very exciting to see you posting again!
I learn and consider so many things from you all.
There is something special about this group and the prayer and everything that goes on with everyone.
I am in the middle of some sort of spiritual growth thing...being put thru fire and molded...it is not a fun experience...but good is coming from it.
I thank you all for your prayers.
He is ever faithful.
Amen!
Evening, all,
I will update my prayer list with the recent requests. I'm so glad to be part of this fellowship and also to have the privelege of praying for others as our family has been on the receiving end for a long time. It feels good to give back!
Just this week, I see the Lord working in even the minor details of life. Yesterday, I was at MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers group) and ran into a girl who works at one of the nursery schools I'm considering for the fall. There's really no way right now for us to send all 3 kids due to the cost so I'd been sending up prayers for a solution to come along. This mom mentioned that they might be able to do a tuition swap for us if I'd be willing to work with another group while my kids were in their class. I'm really excited about the possibility because it would alleviate the financial issue and I could work the 3 hours at the same time/location as the kids. I wouldn't need to find a babysitter, etc. for them while I went to work. So that was a HUGE blessing and confirmation to me that God has this all figured out. Also, hubby and I went out for dinner last night and afterward had a discussion about the upcoming elections. He shared alot with me that I can't remember him talking about before, mostly about how his political beliefs line up with his faith. I know that seems simple and obvious, but he's from a family that NEVER delves into anything even remotely controversial. They have their beliefs and that's that. In that discussion, I saw the tiniest opening in his heart to possible discussions about other 'heavy' topics. I've been praying that we would be able to have unity in how we deal with the issues that we all will be faced with in the near future. To this point, he won't hear of any talk about prophetic events, etc. He's the proverbial ostrich with his head in the sand. So although we didn't touch on any current events or the topics we discuss here, I did see the beginnings of something that God is doing in him. I feel such joy to share these praise reports....God is a wonderful and loving Father and I know that He is working in the lives of each of us to bring about these answers to our prayers.
OK, I'm gushed out for the night. I'll sign off and get some housework done now :-)
Lisa,
left a note for you at my place.
Blessings,
Jen
Donna,
Spiritual growth-yes I'm with you on that one.
I just took a jump off the diving board into the deep end (for me anyway)
Luke 11:9
"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you;seek, and you will find;knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and he who knocks it is opened.
If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will you he give him a stone? Or if he asks for fish, will he give him him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
If anyone is interested or feels led to view my recent journey on Spriritual Maturity you can click on Jen's blog-under John 8:12scroll down to On Tongues. You can find my progress in the comment section.
I was also one who had felt the same way as Jen until the Holy Spirit led me otherwise.
Lisa
Hey Lisa,
Thanks for doing the legwork for me on the Scripture ;-) No excuse except for laziness on my part tonight!
Blessings,
Jen
grumpy,
Excellent post! You really have got my brain working again.
The evil thought that Gog gets is attacking the U.S. while he is attacking Israel is a very interesting angle. It makes a lot of sense in that context. If Gog decides to use container ships to launch nukes at the U.S. like described in "Dead Heat", how would the survivors in the U.S. know who attacked them? They certainly wouldn't have any time to respond.
I totally agree that the Israelis are going to think the Battle of Gog and Magog is Armageddon and that they are going to think that the Antichrist is the Messiah. I am 100% convinced of this. I also think that the Jews are going to think that the False Prophet is Elijah. One proof of this is that the false prophet calls down fire from heaven as a sign. The only profit in the Bible who ever did that was Elijah. Also, the Jews are currently waiting for the return of Elijah (as they have been for many years). It all fits.
God Bless,
Harold
harold,
" Also, the Jews are currently waiting for the return of Elijah (as they have been for many years). It all fits."
Thanks, I didn't realize that.
(I really want to find out more about Jewish end time beliefs.)

what a morning
our email address was hijacked and it took me the better part of 2 hours to get rid of the junk so I could download the stuff I wanted.
I thought this article was insightful.
It has to do with why some pre-trib believers convert to pre-wrath.
Please don't stone me for it.
(I realize some here are tired of that particular discussion.)
Is the prewrath case getting stronger?

Lisa and anyone else who is interested in Jewish belief and customs, there is a really good site that I have found and just want you to be able to go there and check it out. Here is the link but you will have to copy and paste.
www.chabad.org.
I did copy the topic of What is the Jewish Belief About Moshiach’? and it is rather long and I didnt want to slow down Mr. Hyde's cave any more than I already have. But there is another one titled " Sighting Moshiach" that was interesting also. Anyway, don't forget to come back here after you have finished reading on their site. There is a publication that I have here about Jewish Customs and feasts that I purchased in a Christian bookstore. I have it loaned out to a friend right now or I would give you the exact title. There is another book that is more directed to the Jewish people, "The Complete Book of Jewish Observances, A Practical Manual For The Modern Jew" by Leo Trepp and published by Simon and Schuster.
But I know there is a mountain of info on the net and I think if you just put in the search for Jewish End Time Beliefs you will be amazed at all that is there.
This last book by Leo Trepp is very interesting and I have used it numerous times in correlating what the scriptures are saying and what they are saying to the Jew first. I am wondering if there isn't a lot of material you are wanting in the book by Dr. Fruchtenbaum "Footsteps of the Messiah". I will check and see and let you know.
Hope this helps get you started.

Lisa, I found another site that is very interesting, at least to me.
Here is the link.

On the site I referenced lastly, I found this statement very interesting:
"However, the Talmud states that there is a predestined time when Mashiach will come. If we are meritorious he may come even before that predestined time. This “end of time” remains a mystery, yet the Talmud states that it will be before the Hebrew year 6000. (The Hebrew year at the date of this publication is 5763.)"
There is just too much there to copy and paste here and I highly recommend a close reading of the material there. There are things they have to say that I have never heard taught before and I have been around the table a few years.
I am going back to read some more and then examine it closer.
Grumpy this site might be very interesting to you too.
Grany
grany and others interested;
Thanks for finding that site about Jewish end time beliefs. What a wealth of info. I found this on Jack Kelley's site about the 6000 yrs and the Jewish calander:
According to tradition the Jewish calendar tracks the number of years since Adam was created, but some believe that in ancient times God didn't note the passing of time when His people were either out of their land or under the rule of a foreign oppressor. Depending on how you count them, there are 200 - 225 such years between the time the Israelites subdued the land under Joshua and the Romans put an end to the ancient nation.
If proponents of this view are correct, then the actual number of years since Adam is more in the 5964 – 5989 range. This fits nicely with the parallel view that the Age of Man will have a 6000-year duration (six being the number of man).
Seem like we are very close to the end of this age, even by these calculations. Of course we all knew that anyway! LOL
God Bless!
Thanks grany!
Chelsea Clinton visits Gay Bars
Chelsea Clinton visits gay bars
Lisa, that doesn't surprise me about Chelsea's visits to gay bars. I lived in Ft. Smith, Arkansas when her daddy was a frequent visitor and before he became gov of the State of Arkansas. He was quite the playboy and his friendships with the homosexual fellows was well known and laughed about. My friendship base often (more often than I wanted) crossed lines and it was not a very proud moment for those friends. His visits to the gay bars was very frequent and it was well known fact that a lot of his state support came from that group. They loved the personality of Wild Billy and did everything they could to get him elected over and over again.
So, Chelsea is just following in her daddy's footsteps. I don't believe he was gay in the least but he sure did like chumming around with them.
GT, I just came up for air from the last site I mentioned and boy is there a wealth of info on both of those sites for all of us. I get Jack Kelley's email and I enjoyed his comments on the subject also.
The thing that really gets me is that they believe they have to earn their Messiah's return. No wonder they think we are simple minded to believe that Jesus Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing) is the Great Comforter and Messiah all rolled up into one person. I thank God my Savior and Great Comforter live in me and I don't have to wait anymore.
Love you all, and this has been a very illuminating day for me.

What are the birthpangs of Mashiach’s arrival?
The Talmud describes the period immediately prior to the advent of Mashiach as one of great travail and turmoil. There will be a world recession and governments will be controlled by despots. It is in this troubled setting that Mashiach will arrive.
There is a tradition that a great war will take place, called the war of Gog and Magog, and there is much speculation as to the precise timing of this war in relation to Mashiach’s arrival.
There is a tradition that Elijah the prophet will come to the world and announce the imminent arrival of Mashiach. However, according to other opinions, Mashiach may arrive unannounced. Elijah would then arrive to assist in the peace process. Some suggest that if the Mashiach arrives in his predestined time then Elijah will announce his arrival, but if Mashiach comes suddenly then Elijah will appear after Mashiach has come.
This is just what I put togeather including the Jews.
Christians:
Antichrist (Political,Military,& Spiritual world leader)
& False Prophet (miracle working chief enforcer of the Antichrist)
The two Witnesses.(Prophesy, temporarily holds power over rain/water/plagues.Will be killed by Beast.Resurrected & taken to heaven in a cloud.)
Islam:
Al-Mahdi:(Same as Christian- Antichrist)Does some miracles.
Rides on a white horse
& Jesus (the Mahdi's chief enforcer-comes to convert Christians or Execute them. Not much said about miracles.)
The Dejjal:Islams Anti-Christ
(Is Jewish & has miraculous powers and temporarily hold power over the whole earth.heal sick)To be slain by the Muslim Jesus.
Jewish:
Mashiach:Jewish Jesus
Elijah: Mashiah's peace Supporter.
*The Muslims assume since the Dejjal claims to be divine he may also claim to be the Christain Jesus Christ. Does not say this in their text. Seems to me he would fit closer to one of the Biblical Witnesses. They say many "women" will follow him because women are weak minded.
Joel Richardson thinks the Dejjal fits into Armegeddon well and Jesus 2nd coming. The Muslims would would gather to make war with Him.
But since the Dejjal hangs around and heals the sick, has powers over the earth and such-I don't tend to think so. Jesus only comes back to take care of business. The two Witnessess fit better.
Nate,
That's just an amazing song and video. Thank you for sharing.

Nate,
Praying for your safe trip to Mich. Are you flying into Detroit or Flint? You are not far from me my brother! Too bad you couldn't make a quick pitstop!
Kinderquilt,
Thank you for your post re: your trip to Isreal. Sounds like the trip of a lifetime!
Shalom, all! I took my younger two daughters to see "Expelled" this afternoon! I hadn't planned on going at all, but then I read this review. I wrote my ex and told her I was taking them to see the movie that afternoon, and my girls (the youngest one, at least) were upset that I was taking them away from their lounging around and making them see this piece of Hollywood propaganda. Yet I put my foot down (gently but firmly) and with the promise of popcorn and Reese's Pieces, got them to come with.
I presented it as a documentary about academic freedom, which made it easier for them to sit through. After the show, my youngest (who was most opposed to going) said that she thought it was pretty good. It didn't change either of their minds about religion, but since they're both going into professions where there will be a lot of pressure to toe the party line (middle one as an art and journalism double major, hoping to do editorial cartoons, and the youngest planning on going into either robotics or aerospace engineering), I think it brought home to both the importance of standing up for intellectual freedom. I noticed them both unconsciously leaning forward during certain parts of the film, so they both were more "into" the film than they let on.
Afterward, we had a great discussion in the car on the way home about good and evil (they don't believe there is absolute good or absolute evil), and I got to witness to them a little. (Keep in mind that the youngest beats me at chess regularly, and being daughters of their mother they both know how to argue.) They were taking the view that it was wrong for G_D to put the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden, basically setting Adam and Eve up to fail. I pointed out that it WASN'T setting them up to fail -- that it was their choice to disobey G_D, and they could have lead perfect and happy lives without having tasted the fruit. Then they said that if Original Sin is what keeps them from being perfect, how come G_D didn't fix things to clean up Original Sin? I shot my hand up (I was driving) and said, "OOOH! OOOH! Pick me!", then told them they'd have to not interrupt and listen to the answer. I said, "He DID fix things, through the Sacrifice of Christ Jesus on the Cross!" They were silent for a beat, then started complaining to me about how I imposed on them by having them baptized when they were babies. NOTHING about what I had just said about Christ on the Cross! Knowing how their mom argues, the fact that they immediately went off on a tangent means I struck something, so we'll just have to see what got hit.
But getting back to the movie, I highly recommend it. You can go see it strictly as an Intelligent Design issue, or you can get your friends to go (as I did with my daughters) by presenting it as an Intellectual Freedom issue. Two things that stay with me: first was the opening scenes with the title credits, which show the East Germans building the Berlin Wall, where the opening music is "All Along the Watchtower" being played on a string quartet. Very eerie and very appropriate. The second thing is right at the end, where they show scenes of the Berlin Wall coming down. Among all these shots of people with sledgehammers and chisels wailing away at the wall, there was a shot of one person using a rock in her hand to chip away at the wall. I saw this one shot and almost cried.
Anyway, go see the movie. It's good!

What Islam Isn't
Hey thereto all you regulars in the cave!! Excuse me for barging in ....Wilma invited me several weeks ago and I have been reading often but haven't found the time to type until now!
First off thanks for the spot to gather...I love all the posts and all the posters here !
Next... Jeri, I am praying for your wife and family..mostly that you will all find REST in Him and be able to see Him in all that is happening in your lives...I love you and will continue to pray for total healing!
To all those that have expressed wanting to "see" the glimpse of faith being rooted in our loved ones...Hang on and don't give up!!! You are all such inspiration and fine examples of "enduring until the end" and not getting weary of doing good!! The Lord has THE plan and you are all keeping it in motion!!I have been wanting the same for my hubby and this Sunday the Spirit told me to REST in Him and in doing so I will be able to love even more freely....how true , how true!!!So I'm back to Loving God with all that I am and then resting in Him and loving all those I am in contact with!
Lastly, I wanted to tell you that I smile often ( basically everyday) as I hear a news report and wonder which one of you here will also find it fascinating!!! Fox News just had an earthquake specialist on this morning discussing the fragility and volatility of the Mississippi river ...he said "something larga and extreme is going on" and it is all connected with the earthquales in Ilinois! Of course I thought of Jim and the conversations here !!
Love and hugs to all from VA!! May the Lord Jesus guide you and comfort you throughout your day ahead ! ----(mommy)jen
Hi Nate,
I was talking with my mother-in-law last week about all the businesses that will get hit hard and eventually fold if the economic situation worsens. We were driving past a strip mall and we named all the shops that aren't essentials...card stores, pizza shops, etc. So much of what we have grown used to is actually just fluff.
My brother works in accounting for a company that is a kind of convenience store chain. They have mini-marts with gas stations and they've seen a big uptick in cases of people filling up and driving off without paying. They usually catch them bc they have survelliance cameras on each pump, but he said that in most cases, they're very needy families who simply can't afford the gas. My mom was telling me this and she pointed out that as things worsen, people will turn more and more to that kind of choice and the results won't be just a matter of a gas station losing income....it will eventually turn into people doing more criminal activity to 1) provide for their families or 2) continue to have the things they are used to having.
If another depression hits our nation, I think one of the biggest differences in how we handle it as a country will be the fact that during the last one, the nation was still rooted in Christian beliefs and communities still centered around that common theme as they helped each other through those years. Now, Christian belief is under attack and harder and harder to express openly. So many other beliefs have equal footing and a large portion of the younger ages don't have any solid teaching at all. So when it comes time to band together and support neighbors, etc., the focus will be more on self-preservation.
I'm not speaking out of a spirit of fear because I really don't feel that as I look forward. But anyone who doesn't know Jesus personally and know God's promises to His children will surely operate in that spirit.
Just my two-cents for the morning!
Blessings,
Jen

Food rationing in the US?
Nate
our facility is starting to slack off on stuff also. we purchased a computer system also (cerner-what a disaster in case you're interested) last year. my understanding is that we have been unable to pay the bill for several months-or depending on who you talk to not paying the bill because they haven't "done" some work on it. who knows. I know it's tough to get equipment bought for sure. they are wanting us to switch to much less $$$ gloves also. for me that's a problem-I have the beginnings of a mild latex allergy and I can get away with wearing our current gloves because they are so highly processed there isn't much latex protein in them. if we switch to the new gloves more than likely I'll have to start wearing the latex free stuff. of course our hospital can't afford to be completely latex free either. I've noticed a down tick in reimbursement from insurance companies also. working just as hard as last year but the small cushion that I had last year isn't there. oh the joys of being self employed. and of course the employees will expect raises this year as well, the cost of supplies is ever rising. it never ends.
Jib
A few years ago I needed surgery. I
also have an intolerance for latex, surgical tape and the like. I actually blister, crack and bleed.
Anyway, I reminded my doctor who said it's no problem. Sure it wasn't a problem until I went in for the procedure.
I was going over the final info with the surgical nurse before the grand event. She asked if I had any more questions. I said, "Yeah, do you have it marked down anywhere that I'm latex free?" Her face couldn't hide the panic.
She ran down the hall screaming, "we need a latex free cart!" It turns out, they only had one. If they didn't have one, we would have had to reschedule. It was a real eye opener.
With the Lord's help, we have to watch for our own safety. It seems we cannot rely on the doctors to remember our needs.
This reminds me of my mom going to surgery and writing on her stomach in marker... no penicillin, no codeine, no appendix, no uterus... Once she even taped a comic strip to her stomach. It makes one memorable. She was amazing.
In my house I use nitrile gloves. I buy them thru hubby's favorite store, Harbor Freight. He doesn't mind picking them up for me, it gives him an excuse to look at tools! lol But I'm really glad I don't work in the medical field with this problem.
Mommyjen, glad you've joined in.
Jim, as in the movie, "What about Bob," (I know you're a Bill Murray fan,) ..... baby steps.
Keep praying for those girls. (we will too) Let the Holy Spirit do the rest. :)
Israeli Gov't Officials: Carter Can't Back Up His Words
I did a little google on "survivalists" after reading the food rationing artice Jib posted.
Since some of you feel the urge to prepare and stock up this may be of interest.
Head for the Hills
Now I have to admit I believe we are headed in this direction Biblically and also w/just plain ole common sense. But for me-I have not felt the urge to stock up.I don't know way. I think about it often but just don't have an inner "push" to do so.
The sad part for these people is that they feel it in the air but are totally relying upon themselves to weather the storm. That must be very scarey even if you are prepared.
Here a quote:
"Sober and serious, McReady is part of a new wave of survivalists making plans for big trouble. Whereas once it was nuclear holocaust, big-government paranoia or religious rapture that motivated such people, now it is more likely to be climate change, energy shortages and economic collapse. This story is not about whether what they think is true, but more about the social phenomena of what they're doing about it. Most never discuss their beliefs with friends and colleagues because they're frightened of ridicule. But they are getting ready for a world morphed into "Argentina on a very bad day" or plunged into a never-ending depression, or famine, or, worst-case scenario, Mad Max IV and the die-off of billions of people. Magnitude-4.5 aftershock reported from Midwest earthquake
Remember last week when Grany posted the URL to the "Sound An Alarm" website, to the essay about the earthquake? That's what I was thinking about when I was reading the linked article above. The trigger line said, ...its epicenter about 5 miles northwest of Mount Carmel. The Bible scholars among you probably know where I'm going with this; Catholics have an additional connection to Mount Carmel.
Mount Carmel is a mountain at the northernmost edge of the Carmel range in northwest Israel. It's the spot where Elijah challenged 450 prophets of Ba'al to a contest to see who was in control of the Kingdom of Israel. It's where Elijah called fire down from the heavens to consume his sacrifice, after all 450 prophets of Ba'al failed. This should be symbolic enough, since this event proved that Yahweh is the G_D of Israel and is in control of Israel.
For Catholics, there is an additional meaning. The Carmelite religious order was formed there, close to a spot believed to be the grave of Elijah, and next to where a community of Jewish hermits (Essenes?) had lived from the time of Elijah until the Carmelites came and ruined the neighborhood. ;-) In the 1200's a Carmelite named Simon Stock was given a vision of Mary. Unlike other visions, in this vision Mary was weeping because of the pain our sins were causing her Son.
If the analysis by the author of Sound An Alarm is correct, then the location of this aftershock is a reminder: Repent and be Saved! Consider what our sins are doing to our Lord. If you have seen "The Passion of The Christ", consider each of your sins another lash across His body or another blow of the hammer driving in nails.

Jib & Nate,
Same thing at private colleges.
I'm concerned at mine, I oversee an auxiliary operation - meaning I receive 0 dollars from the univ. & have to cover all expenses from income & give the univ. a % back. Typically, in budget crisis, the auxiliaries are the 1st they look at to outsource.
I'm not concerned for myself, I keep looking for ways to get fired :-)- I work way too much! But I am concerned for my folks.
The forever stamp price is going up after May 12th. Buy 'em while you can.
message from my hubby at the usps.
Ok, I have a question for all you republicans out there.
Since there seems to be so many problems re: finances in this country....how about somehow getting the trickle down theory to start working?
For example: The oil companies have been making record profits.
Why don't they trickle down some of those profits to the regular people and get the costs at the pump lowered?
The problem my husband is having has to do with a wealthy homeowner who does not appear to like to part with his money....just like some of these big businesses.
I am not an economist or a financial wiz....but common sense tells me that we don't need 5% of the population to have 95% of the wealth (statistics I heard a while back, I assume they are accurate.)
The problem with this trickle down theory is that it barely trickles down....due to greed I am assuming!
So wondered what you all thought about that.
Donna,
The trickle down sounds like a socialist idea that the Clintons would just love.
Let me ask you a question. If you worked like a dog for 30 years and became a millionare. Would you like to be told you have to give a greater percentage of your money to someone with lower drive and motivation? I know that sounds mean but think about what I'm saying.
Wouldn't you at some point say, "This is all a bunch of garbage! Why don't I just quit trying so hard and do nothing, I'll still be taken care of?"
I'd like a bigger piece of the pie too. We've had way more month at the end of our paycheck and have to make tough decision on who's getting paid. But I don't expect something for nothing.
If someone wants to work that hard to get ahead, God bless him. That's called Capitalism. Our country was founded on the idea that if you have a dream, you can make it come true thru hard work.
I think it would be fair if there was a flat tax percentage that everyone was subject to. NO loopholes, no exceptions.... No need for IRS. Ooops! More gov't money.
Dad had a saying, I'm sure your dad said the same thing..."If you don't work, you don't eat."
It doesn't seem to be true for a lot of folks.
I do think the the oil companies should be prosecuted for price gouging. They've been making record profits so there's no real reason for them to charge what they do for gas.
Someone once took on big tobacco, how much longer before someone takes on big oil?
Off my soapbox....
New - very short - post is up!
Good God Morning to all of you from Okieland! The sky is cloudy but the Son is shining brightly all around us. We are all blessed, aren't we!
It is so good seeing Forgiven Daughter (Sue) and Mommyjen with us and I loved reading your comments. I have missed both of you greatly.
Nate, I am praying for your trip to Michigan and brother, I hope it is nice and warm there for your stay. Keep your mind stayed on your Savior and you will be fine.
JIB, Campsmore knows the great places and if you can't get those gloves where you live, hollar at me and I will send you some form our area Harbor Freight store.
JIM, I loved your story about your movie adventure with the precious daughters. I think you made a big dent in their thinking and beliefs and I know it isn't easy to be still when they are stating their theories but you seemed to have handled it very, very well.
I wondered if you would read that "Sound The Alarm" and really hoped that you would. Loved your info on the Mt. Carmel site. When we were in Israel in 1992, we were allowed to go up to the site that Elijah made famous with his water trick. Did you know about the hidden chambers where the Baal priests had men who would send fire up from the pit below the ground where Elijah had to set up the wood for the show? They would wait until the priest would call down fire and then set the wood on fire from their hidden place. Elijah poured water, water, and more water on them to ruin their game. Also, it was a good 5 mile trip down from the top of the mountain to the stream where they would fill the containers with water. So they had an easy trip down but they had to tote that water back up a very steep mountain at that time. The mountain isn't as high now as it was at the time of Elijah, due to earthquakes and erosion.
Wasn't it something that all of this is happening and relating in ways that I would never have imagined. Today they had another after shock of over 4 in the same general area of Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Now they are considering that there is more action to come shortly. I believe we all need to be praying for God's protection in this area. The last big quake (before this weeks activity) changed the flow of the river navigation. In this part of the country, river navigation is a big, big industry and you would be surprised the amount of produce that is moved on the rivers.
There are several lock and dam operations on the Arkansas that runs very, very close to our home and one of the biggest ones is named Robert Kerr Lock and Dam. It is a flood control system and wonderful navigation and recreation provision.
