"Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around about drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are too easily pleased."

What do you know, early bird catches the worm!
Some interesting reading on both blogs:-)
Hope you are feeling better Mac. Not a good time to get sick at the change of season.
Mud pies don't taste so good.
Joel has a new post
I just realized that when someone goes into a blog comment section that the first 4-5 comments are viewed everytime, and then of course, you scroll down and "catch up" on the reading.
Joel has a new post. Let's fill it full of the word of God and positive things.
Thank Joel for not washing down the truth.
Everyone who views the post will be seeing the truth.
Let's do it before Glen and nony rant and rave.
Who's in?
Hi all!
Mac sorry to hear you are sick.
I would appreciate some prayer too, I have been sick with the flu since Sat. nothing stays in me. I take care of my grandsons and hoped they wouldn't get it, but the 6 month old got sick too.
Yesterday his mama said he went 12 hours without a wet diaper so I'm worried that he is getting dehydrated.
This morning my dear hubby woke up sick too... please pray for us... we haven't seen our grandsons since last week, and miss them so much!
Thanks ...lindalou
Closer
Closer to you each day
early in the morning you call me to your side
longing to teach me, love me and heal me
from the pain that this world gives
closer to you each moment
your word speaks to me like no other can say
the pain ceases, the world stops
as you caress me with your word
closer to you each breath
I dare not inhale too quickly
for your laughter fills my lungs with your presence
and my heart faints in the sight of your love
closer to you each day
my mind cannot grasp your greatness
I drink in your goodness, I eat of your mercy
and your guidance gives strength in my weakness
Lindalou, praying for y'all too.
Hi, There are two young men in need of prayer today. My son Addison is fighting a respiratory virus and high fever.
There is also a young man named Ryan who has been ill for almost two weeks. The doctors just diagnosed him with bacterial pneumonia. He's had 3day Z paks, and takes steriods twice a day, an inhaler and respiratory therapy.
There is so much fluid in his lungs, the doctor wants to do x-rays today.
He told his mom he has no energy and getting up to go to the bathroom is a chore.
Please pray for him to recover quickly.
His mom's name is MarySue and she's a Christian and requested Ryan to be placed on our prayer list.
Thanks
Hi Campsmore
We are to late!
'Annoying Mouse' is already at it. I have replied to Chris and will not bother with 'the mouse' as it is the same drivel and never changes.
I, on the other hand, have turned to the dark side and I am now supporting the anonymouse fully. I have written a post on Joel's expression my new views.
I cannot be swayed. My mind is made up. From now on, refer to me as Mouse #2.
Hi Mouse#2
I enjoyed your last post on Joel's. Would you like some support out there or will mouse #1and glen be enough for now? It is amazing that they never give up but I believe they are getting major satisfaction from our reactions. I usually bite my fingers but some times give in.
So what do you think of your future president, nearly as good as mine??
Dave, can we call you mini-mouse?
What about 'Mighty Mouse' with his flowing cape?
FYI on Public School indoctrination. Following is a part of the Link:
See the part on "Global Warming". I had a feeling that was/would happen on our schools.
aCaliforniaPublicSchools
Thank goodness we just switched Lorraine back to a Private Christian school. (She went public for 6 weeks and hated it)
Home schoolers will not observe the “Day of Silence”, which is being pushed on government school children. The “Day of Silence” is a special interest-driven attempt, like the Castle Rock scenario, to further indoctrinate our children into the acceptance of homosexuality. On April 25, government schools across the country will observe the day in silence as a “show of support for gay and lesbian students and the discrimination they face”. In reality, the “Day of Silence” is an attempt to silence those opposing this “lifestyle” which occurs in a minority of all children. At a time when our country is lagging behind in math, science and other subjects critical to our children’s - and our nation’s - success, our elementary school children are being politicized: bullied into yet another attempt by the radical left to accept aberrant behavior.
The religion of global warming continues to be taught in our government schools as fact, although much of the claims have been proven time after time to be false or misleading. In scare tactics that are guaranteed to horrify the unsuspecting school child, the NEA’s website, under its Global Warming 101 lesson plan, begins: “Bring your students to the frontlines of climate change in the Arctic where glaciers are melting, polar bears are drowning, and Inuit villagers are struggling to survive….”
I don't know much about your president Jeri.
As far as Obamanation.....
He may be as close to a complete disaster as we could have as president. If he is elected, he may be yet another kick start towards the rapture.....which is his only practical redeeming quality.
Here he comes to save the day
Mighty mouse is on his way....
No O-bomb-us for prez
Dave,
Our future president has been up on rape charges but got off, been linked to huge corruption charges and used a financial advisor who admitted paying him brides and is now in jail and is now facing criminal charges himself for accepting these payments! He is going to run my country?????
Lisa
Sounds about right. That is exactly what you would expect from the libtards who run so close to 'the dark side' because after all man is good and is actually also god. This was explained to me yesterday by a young man who was questioning my comments about future happenings being Biblical, eg. economic collapse, one world govt., one world economy, wars, etc. I have decided to meet with him regularly to try to minister to him through the Holy Spirit, so please pray for him and all others out there who are being brainwashed.
Campsmore, Shalom! Tell your son to buck up, he's doing great! His fever is at 102.5; I'll bet Mac's fever never gets above 38! ;-)
<><
wow
definitely a little late for the flu to be hitting! prayers for you all!
glad to see that there was just another post since there were no emails today-it was a little eerie!
Jim,
My son says, "ahem."
Nothing more, nothing less.
What do you mean about Mac? I'm slow so I don't understand what you're implying.
I'm very literal and even now envision poor Mac with blue lips and fingertips.
I see Mac, healed, singing praises to God for the healing and ready to overcome the world.
Amen Mac!
Grany
I have added all of the prayer requests to my prayers. I meant to say that in my previous post but my kitty kat jumped up on my lap and I forgot what I was going to do.
Grany
Campsmore, Shalom! My joke was a play on the Fahrenheit system used in the US and the Celsius system used in the rest of the world. 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is 37 degrees Celsius. 38 degrees Celsius is between 102 and 103 Fahrenheit.
<><
I hope and pray that everyone will feel better soon. Sounds like lots of folks are entitled to feel sooky!
Thank you for the new post, Mr. Hyde. Interesting quote from CS Lewis...I wonder how true it is.
I just finished watching Eliot Spitzer resign. The news programs and his speech spoke about: wrongdoing, hypocrisy forgiveness, atonement.... interesting concepts for people to be focusing on!
Nate, Shalom!
I've asked the Holy Spirit to protect you and your family, and will continue to do so. I've also asked G_D to send St. Michael the Archangel and his angels to protect you. Tradition holds that St. Michael lead the heavenly host in expelling the Evil One and his rebellious angels from heaven, so the enmity between them is ... personal. St. Michael is often invoked (after asking G_D to send His help, of course) in cases of demonic influence and obsession.
"You have the LORD for your refuge; you have made the Most High your stronghold. No evil shall befall you, no affliction come near your tent. For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways."
Psalm 91:9-11
Jim, thanks for the explanation... now it's funny!
Nate, Praying for your family tonight.
Oh God, we thank You for continuing to keep watch over us.
We ask that you keep Nate and his family extra close to You, and to continue to teach them and all of us to trust You for all things.
In Jesus name we pray this, amen!
You guys and gals are certainly prolific, I've been tied up with work for the last week and haven't had much time for check the blogs. So it took me nearly 4 hours just to get caught up.
Most if not all agree that we need an emergency contact list in case blogger goes down, and I've also sent Nate my information for his alternate location.
That said, the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful job running an IT office. Therefore I have significant resources at my disposal to bring up a web site of our own as well as email services. If you all are interested just let me know and I'll either register a new name or we can sub-domain one of the other un-official sites I host here. I do this with the full blessings of our owner and host my parents Montessori supply page, my church's web page and email and my wife's travel agency pages. So it won't be a problem to add one or two more.
I found that Godscave.com is available but if anyone else has any other domain name ideas lets hear them. I would recommend that we setup a closed email system so that you would only be able to receive email from the hosted account by someone on the hosted account, but it could be public as well.. The system is also capable of sending out fax's SMS text messages and letters so if worse came to worse there would be non-internet capabilities as well..
Mike
Thanks, guys, I'm starting to feel nearly human this morning.
God never sleeps. Another praise to our God.
As I mentioned in a previous post I've had to work some very long hours of late. Last Saturday I was driving the 32 miles home from work around 4am after a really long day.
I was fine the first 25 miles or so (lots of caffeine) but about that time I noticed I was driving cross-eyed (literally - I suspect most here have experienced this) so I prayed to God to let me get home safely, and instantly I became alert, it felt like a light switch was flipped on in my head, and I had no doubt it was the work of our Lord.
As I closed in on the house I pass through a particularly winding and hilly(sp?) road, when I "heard" turn on you brights! something I would normally never do on this stretch of road, but I did and maybe a 100 feet in front of me was a herd of 7-8 deer. I have no doubt that I would have been seriously injured had I not slammed on the brakes when I did.
Twice that morning I know that God reached out his hand and saved me (again). It is comforting to know that even on a routine/boring drive home our God who never sleeps is always watching out for us.
Mike
Why You Are So Valuable
TexasDave, Thank God! You listened and obeyed!
I got tickled on your description of cross eyed driving. Yes, I have done that many times and saw some of the most interesting country in the process.
Glad you are safe and sound now.
Grany
Grany,
We are praying for your eye surgery to be a 100% success!
Has anyone invited JustMe to the Cave? She sounds kinda like she is lonely. And maybe it will get her away from her list making. (smile)
Just a thought.
Well, I have to work this evening, so it's time to sign off.
Love to all, and to all a good night :)
I have yet another prayer request;
1. For my sister in law; her blood results came back with high cancer markers.
2. Grany's procedure tomorrow.
3. A young lady, "E" (13yo.) told me tonight that she was date raped by a 21yo. She kept it to herself for 1 1/2 mos during which time she did a lot of drugs to help her cope with the emotional pain. She told me she has to take another pregnancy test this week. She quit doing drugs last week and told her parents everything. She's going to need a lot of prayer.
Praying for both situations, Lori.
Also praying for Wilma's procedure.
And Alesia hurt her back, please pray for healing.
I ended up getting allergies on top of my flu. Last night I could have (figuratively) killed for some ice cream but was too sick to go out and buy some. Today I feel good and have had 2 helpings!
Mac, you're such a sooky! he he he
There, I got to use it. Glad you finally got some icecream.
Get better,
lori
Oh yeah, big thanks for your prayers.
Oh, what happened to Alesia's back, my goodness I will pray for her too.
There seems to be a lot of sickness and other demonic attacks on our bodies in the group at the moment.
Would it help if I posted some teaching on healing, and what the Bible has to say, and try to repudiate the most common "traditions" that most of us have probably been taught about healing and why we don't/can't walk in divine health on a daily basis?
John
Hi John,
You must have read my mind....
I'm finally wrapping up 2 of the worst weeks I've had in a very long time. I'm typically not a sooky la la (I got to use it, too! And by the way, my daughter didn't like being called that today either ;-) but I've been on the verge of tears and a trip to the ER for the last week or more. I've given serious thought to whether this is an attack as well because it's the third in 3 months and isn't clearly caused by anything other than 'muscle strain'. But why now? Maybe because of all the praying I've been doing of late. Typing at the computer has been esp. difficult and it crossed my mind that I get so much encouragement/spiritual food from blogging. I have been getting ready to send out E-vites to my neighbors to start a prayer group/Linus Project group, but haven't because I can't spend enough time at the keyboard. And I had started a faith blog that I was hoping to share with family/friends but that has been on hold, too. Hmmmmmmmm......
I feel good enough today to sit here for awhile but I can feel the pain just waiting to come on again.
So your teaching would be very welcome.
Blessings,
Jen
PS. Will add all these new prayers to my list. Grany, your operation is when?
Grany's surgery is tomorrow
I've have been having frequent bad headaches which I haven't had in a while along with the back pain that goes with them. Starts near my left ear and goes all the way down my back. ugh. I hadn't thought of it being an attack but makes more sense than any other explanation I've come up with seeing as nothing has changed.
adding names to the prayer list.
btw
a praise. my friends dad was able to tolerate the scanning to plan for treatment of his cancer. not sure why they are treating it as the kind he has typically responds to nothing. much more concerned however about him not wanting to talk to his pastor. I haven't been able to connect with my friend but will try to do so tomorrow
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Marge, re Justme - the answer is no, but as far as I'm concerned I think she should be. You can invite her if you want.
Also praying over the other requests I didn't acknowledge in previous post. My head is clearing up now...watch out!
Marge, I just realised you don't display an email in your ID. You can get Justme to send me an email and I'll tell her about the cave...if you want. I probably won't check in till later tomorrow.
PS Hyde was banned from posting at Joel's for obvious reasons. Best keep an eye on him though! He's such a rascal.
John,
I've sat thru countless sermons and read many books on healing, but there isn't enough teaching on walking in health.
I would welcome a teaching from you and I'm certain we'll all benefit from it as well.
lori
Jim, it's so sweet of you to remeber folks in your prayers...and I almost hate to bring this up...as I have brought it up before....but praying to Michael, the archangel?
We are taught how to pray...to God the Father thru the Son. We are to yield to the Holy Spirit that is in us.
Praying to anyone or anything else I think is equivalent to idol worship, from what I have read and have been taught thru the Bible.
(I realize the RCC church teaches otherwise.)
So...I just had to bring that up. If I didn't I'd feel as if it was the "elephant in the room" that no one talks about.
God Bless you, brother!
<><
Hi all- keeping all of you in my prayers: Nate, for G-ds protection of you and your family, Granny surgery, and all others.....Jen, thanks for taking time with me in spite of being sick!
Jamie
Grany Wilma,
I'm praying for you for a successful surgery & speedy recovery.
Praying for all other requests as well.
Mike - Praise God! Great story.
Hyde stay in hiding if you please!
I think one of the women should approach her-in the normal course of things I'd say Grany but since she'll be out of commission for a while one of the rest of us could do it. Any volunteers?
Nate,
I left a picture for your wife at the healthclub.
lori
I know several people have been talking about stocking up on food and other supplies.
I've thought about it recently too, but haven't done much yet. Do any of you have some suggestions on what to store (food especially) and how to do it?
I'm a novice bomb shelter guy.
Dave, for starters, did you see the link I left on Joel's for the Zeer pot? (refrigerating w/out a refrig.)
A canner would be helpful. Dehydrating food is a good idea and then vacuum seal. I don't have either, but it's still a good idea.
Do not try to grow something right now that is readily available and cheap to buy. Buy it, can it.
If it's expensive, grow it if you can and then store it.
Buy wheat and other grains. Put bag into airtight bags and freeze for a few weeks. Store bags in large clean 5gal. buckets with bay leaves strewn around, seal with rubber gasket lid. Bay leaves prevent critters/eggs from surviving, if any lived thru your freezer.
Powdered anything. Just add water foods. Heat and serve foods. High protein pastas. Don't forget the sweets, you'll kick yourself to timbucktu if you don't store some goodies.
Buy a good water filter. One that can be used again and again. We have a few Seychelle Bottoms Up filters. They're good enough to clean just about any water.
You can filter water thru 4 layers of fabric. I recently took all the old clean T-shirts in my house, and there were alot. I cut the sleeves off 1" into the shirt and cut from armpit to armpit to make 4total pieces. Afterward, boil the fabric and hang dry in the sun. Reuse.
Some scientists did research because in Bangladesh some folks were getting cholera and neighbors who drank the same dirty water did not. They found the healthier people were filtering their water thru 4 layers of their saris. The scientists found it removed 99% of cholera bacteria.
Of course, do not forget the bleach. 16 drops will santize water, wait for 2 hours before drinking.
I forgot to mention about the Tshirts. Use the smaller pieces for filtering water. The bottom pieces can be used to tie around the face to filter out impurities in the air. It isn't foolproof, but it's a start.
I made up a list for my car and hubby's in case something big were to happen (we live just outside the 20 mile radius of a power plant so I've done some prep for that scenario.) I listed all essential groceries and household supplies we'd need (don't forget kids stuff/pet stuff) since I doubt I could think straight (and surely hubby would be clueless) if I were in the store with the rest of the township in a hurry to get home. One pointer....if buying pancake mix, get the "complete" type since that only requires water. Regular mix requires eggs and usually milk which isn't prudent for the long haul.
I've got to take another look at my supplies...haven't done that since last fall when my spirit was stirring.
Blessings,
Jen
Krusteaz is the best! My kids asked me not to make the pancakes from scratch anymore.
you might look at this site and start with the BASICS just things to keep you alive ( or trade) if something were to happen
beans and oatmal, and pankcake are cheap but dont forget the whey or soy milk these products keep 15 - 30 years.
http://beprepared.com/
Thanks all you wacky doomsday people! I knew I could count on you!
I use the term "wacky" not to mean nutty or insane. I mean crazy....for Christ that is. :)
Mac, Jib and Lori,
Thanks for letting JustMe know about the cave!
My computer knowledge is very limited, so thanks for inviting her! (It's about all I know how to do to turn the thing on, get On Line, etc. :)
God bless you all!
And an extra special hug for Grany 5 today :)
Davey
Just make sure and leave the 2 most important things with your storage.
A letter explaining why the person who finds your food is not finding you and a Bible.
Love ya
Nate,
Praying a hedge of protection around you and your family, and for the Lord to give you discernment.
God Bless
Sheila,
I did that, too....left packets in envelopes marked "Help Yourself" in each location where we have supplies (pantry in kitchen...garage area with canned goods and basement fridge.) Inside is a letter overviewing what's happened and resources to look at, including specific sections of the Bible.
I also put a letter in each packet asking the finder to please send them out to a list of family/friends and to email out the same letter to my entire address book.
Of course I don't know what utilities will be up and running at that point, but I wanted to cover as many bases as possible.
I also put info in our glove boxes in each car. Hubby thinks I'm nuts and is sure that Joel is running some sort of cult or something, but he's coming around, esp. as things unfold that I've been mentioning for months now.
Blessings,
Jen
Jen they think I am crazy to, you reminded me I need to replace the one in my car. I gave it to someone.
sheila
I have links on my computer desktop too to websites like Rapture Ready, plus some individual articles, etc. So when they are clearing off my computer.....Oh THAT'S where Dave went! Hopefully there won't be too many left here in our office, but I'm sure there will be some.
I just found this interesting
The first story on WND
Recession? Maybe worse. Economy stumbles more
The second story on WND
Court challenged to allow Christians right to pray, too
Donna, Shalom! Re: your concern about praying to the saints --
The English word "pray" comes from an Old English word meaning "please" -- you're asking for something. You see hints of this in Shakespeare, where a character will say something like, "Pray, tell me..." or "Prithee" (which is a contraction of "pray thee"). Asking someone for help is not the same as worship.
It would not be worship if I asked your help in moving a table. It would be worship if I expected you to extend the help with no other power but your own, denying the fact that G_D gives you the strength and ability to help move a table. It's so easy to fall into that trap because how often in our normal life do we say, "I'll help, by the power, strength, and grace given me by Our Lord G_D"? Do you think the people in your business meeting would look at you strangely if you did that? How many times do you think you would do it before people started asking you to stop doing that, because everyone knows that already and it takes up too much time to keep adding that statement of praise? We apply that shortcut in our everyday lives, assuming that "the help and aid of G_D" is a given in everyday life and so doesn't need to be expressed. By failing to take that "shortcut" into account, we also fail to recognize that, just as the people living with us on earth can give us aid by the power of G_D, so can the saints in heaven give us aid by the power of G_D. In this prayer, we are asking St. Michael's help not through any power of his own but By the Power of God, meaning only if G_D wills it so.
Remember, those who have preceded us into heaven have changed in form and substance but not changed in temperament or personality: your Nana still loves you as much as ever, and will help you as much as possible, even if it's only to add her prayers to your own in asking G_D for help. I would not feel comfortable asking any saint (my parents included) for anything more than to add their prayers to mine; however, Scripture tells us that angels can and do extend the will of G_D upon earth in a physical way. That's why I feel comfortable asking this particular angel, the Archangel Michael, for his protection from evil "by the power of God."
<><
Dave, Shalom!
I've got to get going on some stuff, so tonight I'll put together a list of websites and information that I gathered last year when I thought the War of Gog and Magog was going to happen then.
<><
HI everyone! I am going to try typing this with my eyes shut, so if the letters look funny it only means I got my fingers placed wrong again.
I wanted to let everyone know at the same time the results of my appointment today. All the way home, I kept hearing John (Boatman909) telling about divine healing and not accepting the negative reports of the doctors. NOW I wasn't trying to think of it, but it just kept coming up in my Spirit. So, now to tell you the results. There is nothing they can do for my right eye. The hole in macula has existed far too long and has depleted all of the fluid that is normally there. Had I been diagnosed correctly when it happened, I could have saved my vision by having the surgery early on. The condition won't get any worse because the worst has already happend and even if they did do the surgery I would not have good results due to the damage.
Now the problme is looming in the future for the left eye. There is a big chance that the left eye will do the same thing but he said I would be aware of it immediatedly and I am to cal his office and plan immediate surgery.
So, right now my eyes are super dialated and I have great big iris bilaterally. I can see hazy objects but not able to read much of anything right now. The testing procedures were something else but hubby went right through it all with me and I was so surprised and comforteded by him doing so.
Men, you wife needs you during thesee times too and it means so very much to us all to know that our loved choices are with us through it all. It isn't any fun but there is a time for fun and a time for seriouss matters. I will wash on a wash board for him now or even fix those horrible brats that he loves to grill. Yuck!
I thank you for the prayers and I can tell you that I felt them greatly. No Fear! That was really great! My knees did not shake one time.
I am asking God to give me that kick start for faith to claimbelieve for the healing of the hole in my macula completely without man's intervention. No matter what the outcome of a doctors consult, the final decision is still Abba Father's.
Love you all and hey, typing with my eyes shut is a snap.
Grany
Grany 5,
God bless your little pea picking heart! You type better with your eyes closed than I do with my eyes open :)
Let's all agree in prayer right now, that God performs a miracle healing on Wilma's eye. God is still in the miracle and healing business, and if He's done it once, He'll do it again, amen? Amen.
Much love to you, Wilma. And we also agree about Jim's soon salavation, too! Amen? Amen.
Love,
Marge
Grany,
I am so glad that I was able to be of some small help to you. Thank you Holy Spirit for bring those comments back to Grany as she was going to the doctors.
I will provide something about healing and living in divine health shortly, as promised.
John
John,
We're counting on it.(and you :)
And many thanks for everything you do! It's much appreciated!
I just invited Justme, so when she comes in, let's give her a mighty warm welcome!
Message from Justme:
Thank you so much! I feel honored.
I definetely will look it up. I've never been a blogger until now. And I know what you mean by "Teresita." Even though I just started posting I've been reading the blog and comments since 10/06 when Joel came to our church. So I have seen the way Teresita is. It's funny how you all know her style of writing so when she tries to come back as a different person you all know who it is right away. That always makes me laugh.
But tell everyone thanks, okay? And I'll see you at the site soon.
Rosalie (my real name) lol
"Hyde stay in hiding if you please!"
Alas, the deed is/was done. mac cannot restrain me forever. I will have my say. I will...oops I think I hear footsteps...must go now.
Aargh! I just spent all this time writing a comment & it went bye, bye.
Hi All - did anyone miss me?
I'm feeling somewhat better, thanks to pain pills the dr. prescribed. (Feeling a little loopy though)
My poor daughter has been waiting on me hand & foot since Sun. & even graciously lent me her laptop, as I still can not sit up all the way.
Mac - What's wrong with you? Still have a fever? That was a strange comment. LOL
Wilma - My heart goes out to you about your eyes. Will continue praying for a blessed miracle!
I can't possibly comment on all the posts of the last few days (WOW, has there been alot)
Just know, I love you all!
Alesia - Hyde has been chomping at the bit to post at Joel's again. He's already posted incognito a couple of times, albeit innocuously. But I do worry.
Jim, we've had this discussion before and I must emphatically agree with Donna here.
We have direct access to the very throne of God through Christ. The verbal process of petitioning any angel or saint is the same as petitioning the Father. And it is most definitely not the same as asking another human being to join with you in prayer. There is no Biblical support for this whatsoever apart from Catholic tradition.
Mac, Shalom!
I'm afraid I must disagree with your statement, "The verbal process of petitioning any angel or saint is the same as petitioning the Father. And it is most definitely not the same as asking another human being to join with you in prayer. There is no Biblical support for this whatsoever apart from Catholic tradition." (emphasis added)
Scripture indicates those in heaven are aware of the prayers of those on earth. This can be seen, for example, in Revelation 5:8, where John depicts the saints in heaven offering our prayers to God under the form of "golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints." But if the saints in heaven are offering our prayers to God, then they must be aware of our prayers. They are aware of our petitions and present them to God by interceding for us.
You might try to argue that in this passage the prayers being offered were not addressed to the saints in heaven, but directly to God. Yet this argument would only strengthen the fact that those in heaven can hear our prayers, for then the saints would be aware of our prayers even when they are not directed to them!
In any event, it is clear from Revelation 5:8 that the saints in heaven do actively intercede for us. We are explicitly told by John that the incense they offer to God are the prayers of the saints. Prayers are not physical things and cannot be physically offered to God. Thus the saints in heaven are offering our prayers to God mentally. In other words, they are interceding.
This intercession does not violate the sole mediatorship of Christ, which Paul discusses: "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Tim. 2:5). The intercession of fellow Christians — which is what the saints in heaven are — clearly does not interfere with Christ’s unique mediatorship because in the four verses immediately preceding 1 Timothy 2:5, Paul says that Christians should interceed: "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and pleasing to God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:1–4). Clearly, then, intercessory prayers offered by Christians on behalf of others is something "good and pleasing to God," not something infringing on Christ’s role as mediator.
If the mere fact that we can go straight to Jesus proved that we should ask no Christian in heaven to pray for us then it would also prove that we should ask no Christian on earth to pray for us. Praying for each other is simply part of what Christians do. As we saw, in 1 Timothy 2:1–4, Paul strongly encouraged Christians to intercede for many different things, and that passage is by no means unique in his writings. Elsewhere Paul directly asks others to pray for him (Rom. 15:30–32, Eph. 6:18–20, Col. 4:3, 1 Thess. 5:25, 2 Thess. 3:1), and he assured them that he was praying for them as well (2 Thess. 1:11). Most fundamentally, Jesus himself required us to pray for others, and not only for those who asked us to do so (Matt. 5:44).
Having others praying for us thus is a good thing, not something to be despised or set aside. Of course, we should pray directly to Christ with every pressing need we have (cf. John 14:13–14). But this does not mean that we should not also ask our fellow Christians, including those in heaven, to pray with us.
In addition to our prayers directly to God and Jesus (which are absolutely essential to the Christian life), there are abundant reasons to ask our fellow Christians in heaven to pray for us. The Bible indicates that they are aware of our prayers, that they intercede for us, and that their prayers are effective (else they would not be offered).
Not only do those in heaven pray with us, they also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, we read: "[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God" (Rev. 8:3-4).
And those in heaven who offer to God our prayers aren’t just angels, but humans as well. John sees that "the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints" (Rev. 5:8). The simple fact is, as this passage shows: The saints in heaven offer to God the prayers of the saints on earth.

Jim, I never expected to change your mind but wanted to officially state my position for others here. And I'm not having a go at you either. It's just that I've had this discussion many times with my mother and relatives. Brings back old memories ;-)
BTW your example using Revelation does not provide proof that those prayers were originally prayed to saints and/or angels in the first place. I wonder how Jesus taught His disciples to pray?
Mac - I agree with you.
SO... YOU'RE one of the mice???
For shame!
Nope, not a mouse. Hyde has an official ID!
How're you feeling, anyway?
Mac,
Oh, do tell which one!
You're gonna make me read the comments & figure out who you are, aren't you?
Thanks for asking, but I'm in alot of pain, mean, crabby & a little stoned from the drugs!
Nice job with your answer to Jennie, you put a lot of effort into the answer - Good job!
Mac and Alesia,
I'm glad that you are both feeling better. God is good!
I also agree with your response to Jim.
We need to also remember John 16:23, and 24;
"And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it unto you."
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."
Dave, Shalom!
This is my promised response to Campsmore's survival list. First place I'd go to is on the Rapture Ready Bulletin Board. They have a thread there called, Stockpiling food and supplies for Emergency. It took me a while to find it just now because they moved it to the "Anything Goes" section. There's a note at the beginning that says they've edited some of the posts to remove the fearmongering and kept the useful information. The thread is up to 27 pages and is still going strong after one year.
One place to go for supplies is Walton Feed. I ordered some emergency supply stuff from them last year and can recommend them. One thing that they sell is called a Gamma Seal. It takes a standard 5-gallon pail and transforms it into something that has an easy-open air-tight seal. You can usually get these 5-gallon pails for free from most fast-food restaurants -- they're usually just thrown away.
As far as buying wheat and other grains, if you don't buy them already ground you'll have to buy a grinder. Expect to pay around $400 for a decent hand grinder/miller that will grind wheat fine enough to use for bread and that will do it in a reasonable time. Be careful when putting the bay leaves in the flour -- it's a bit of a shock to bite into bay leaf parts when you're eating your pancakes.
As for sweets, don't forget honey and sulfurated molasses. Both keep for a long time and have additional health benefits. Molasses can be a good source of minerals (I remember reading of some old people from the South who attributed their long life to having a spoonful of molasses every day) and the Egyptians used honey in making bandages to keep wounds from getting infected.
Speaking of infected, get a couple of tubes of antibiotic ointment and an extra box of bandaids. It can literally be a life-saver.
Back to food: Olive oil. It's expensive, but again, it provides several important nutrients, and can be used as a balm for wounds and also as lamp fuel in an emergency. Also, get some canola oil or a vegetable/canola oil mix and make sure you get a couple of teaspoons of a different oil every day. (Got that from my Weight Watchers class.) I don't know about Crisco, but it probably wouldn't hurt to get a can.
For protein, if you or your family aren't allergic to nuts, make sure you have both peanuts and mixed nuts in cans, as well as peanut butter. It's not something you should rely on for long periods of times, but the point is to get a variety of nutrients from a variety of sources. You should also get some beef jerky.
Speaking of variety, get a variety of dried fruits, such as raisins and dates. You should also get juice boxes. They don't require refrigeration and can provide the variety that helps make survival survivable. You may also want to make sure your spice cabinet is well-stocked. Seasoning your food can make you feel fuller with less food.
You may want to buy bottled water to keep you for a while until your water filtering stuff is set up. You should plan on 1 gallon/4 liters of water per person per day, and make sure you have a three-day supply on hand. If you need to sanitize the water, use 16 drops of bleach per gallon/4 liters.
<><
Rotate the nuts and peanut butter, which happens to go rancid quickly.
And don't use those new scented bleaches, just the plain old stuff.
I also bought things like canned chili, canned chicken (I think Tyson is the best) vegetables (they can be rinsed to remove some sodium) tuna and baked beans. These items are on sale so often, and I can replenish without buying anything at regular price because I've got a good supply.
I have a radio which needs no power source, hand crank and also some flashlights which are powered by hand cranking.
Don't forget diapers and babywipes and ladies, personal sanitary supplies!
Sometimes you can purchase a three month supply of prescription meds.
Thanks Jim and everyone else for the info!
Here's a message from Ryan's mom:
"I must say that I am amazed at the immediate and heart-felt response to our need. Mark and Lori, please let everyone know that their prayers for my son have been heard AND ANSWERED. When I left work on Wednesday, my son was still very ill after being sick for almost 2 weeks. Three trips to the Dr. and many medications did not seem to do anything for him. In fact, he said he felt WORSE. I stayed home Wednesday night and made sure he had all of his medications on time...but really did nothing more than what we had been doing all along.
What happened yesterday ( Thursday) was ( in my mind) nothing short of a miracle! Ryan woke up with a smile on his face! He said he knew he was still sick...but he felt MUCH better. By the afternoon, Ryan had coughed up quite a bit of 'goop' out of his lungs and was feeling pretty good. The swelling in his face had gone down. He wanted to eat. And.....After a very frightening two weeks....my wonderful boy, FINALLY looked and acted more like the happy, active teenager I am used to seeing!
Just a few days ago Ryan was telling me that he was so tired , just standing up was hard for him to do. Last night, Ryan was up walking around and he even helped his younger brother with his homework!
I honestly can't THANK YOU all enough. All day long...I kept thinking..."This is because of all the prayers"
God is so good!
Thanks again.
Mary Sue"
Please pray for 22 year old Ricky, who was in a 3 wheeler accident. He has suffered severe brain /head injury. Pray for his salvation and for his recovery.
Please put Keely and Jay on the prayer chain. She is pregnant with twins and there is only one heartbeat and the other is very weak. They are going to the Doctor today. I’m not sure yet if they have accepted Jesus.
These are requests from my church.
lori
Dave,
I know this is a kind of weird idea, but my husband has been stocking up on hand tools the last few years.
Some are antique, but work just fine.
Dave and Anne, Shalom! When Anne mentioned rinsing off the canned vegetables to remove some of the sodium, it reminded me of something I wanted to mention last night: SALT! While normally our modern diets provide more than enough salt, if you go a "more natural" way (lots of dried beans, grinding your own wheat, etc.) you're going to need to add some salt to your diet. Not much, but salt has so many other uses (besides preserving food, you can use salt to clean things), it wouldn't hurt to get a couple of boxes and stash them away. Provided the boxes don't get wet, the salt won't go bad.
You should also get a couple/bunch of boxes of baking soda. You can use baking soda to make a toothpaste (mix with a little water and some salt; add some peppermint oil if you want some flavoring) and you can use it to wash clothes, as an antacid, and as something to make insect bites stop itching. Go to the ARM & HAMMER web sites for a complete list. (One use I learned about from my grandparents: mix baking soda with some scented baby powder, and you have a deodorant that can help you stay cooler in the summer.)
Buy some bottles of multivitamins, or even just vitamin C. The vitamin C would come in very handy during the winter. As for baby wipes, my ex turned me on to the fact that you can use baby wipes for SO many cleaning things around the house. Now I have a couple of boxes (with refill packs in the closet) around the house to clean things in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. Highly recommended.

Keep next Wednesday the 19th in mind.7:00 Pacific time.
My old church "Maranatha" is having "Walid Shoebat" at their Wednesday evening Bible Study. I think it's a question/answer format.
www.maranathachapel.org
go to Midweek Service and view live or you can look it up in the Archives later.
(I'll have to look it up myself since we'll be gone for a few days again-oh rats!! I wish I were back there now!! Blah, Blah, Blah.)
Lisa
Have you seen the news today? They are attacking Obama's Pastor now.
He made some statements that the US deserved 911 and it was just a payback among other things.
I have to admit seeing that the media caught onto his liberalized church made me very happy.
I'm all warm and fuzzy now.
Lisa
Afternoon all,
I have a prayer request to share but I've posted it at my blog "Walk This Way" since it's rather lengthy. It's under the post titled "Shelter."
I've struggled with writing it out over the past few months but finally decided to post it since we'll be dealing with the issues shortly.
I'm going to leave it there for a week or so, then take it down since we really don't want our family to know about it and everyone checks my "3 peas" blog to see pix of the kids, etc. I don't want anyone stumbling upon it as that will activate the family grapevine ;-)
Thanks in advance for your prayers!
Blessings,
Jen
Hi everyone! Where ever you are!
I just found out that i can make this print as big as I want and I am having a ball reading everything again. WOOOO!
Don't you all love the comments that Mac's friend Chris made on Joel's site. By the way there is a new post at Joel's. This one is about McCain's planned trip to the Epicenter next month.
Our weekend is getting very close here in Okieland and I am looking forward to the sound of children playing outside. The weather here is beautiful and I can't help but wish all of you living in the snow bound areas could escape and spend some days here. No bugs yet and the trees are budding (well, some of them) but the thing I love the most is the spring flowers all so pretty and smelling so good. Our kitty is inside so the birds are really singing up a torment song to her being in a safe place from them. I just have to share something that happened that was giggle material. I have my kitchen window open and it faces south and there is a bird bath right below the window sitting near a shade tree. Kitty likes to keep me on the ball while I am working in the kitchen, so she perches on the step stool I have nearby. I moved the chair close to the upper cabinets this morning and while I was tidying up, a real trusting Mockingbird flew to the tree right outside and proceeded to sing a beautiful song to Kitty. That bird then flew to the window ledge and sang an encore. To which Kitty jumped up to the sill and glared. I don't know if the bird could see Kitty but she continued singing just the same.
I kinda feel like that myself. Sing that song of praise no matter what the circumstances are in the world or whatever. Getting priorities straight I guess.
Have a great Friday, what is left of it, and don't forget who gave it to you.
Love to you all,
grany
Wow, Jen
That's a situation I haven't heard of before. But with changing technology, we'll probably be seeing it again.
I'll pray for your family. That God would unify your husband and you on the issue, give you both peace and joy unspeakable as he paves the way.
Jen, left you a comment at your blog site. My prayers are with you and hubby.
Shalom
Grany
Jen, you are in my prayers. I thank God for the decision you and your husband have made reagrding your little "snowflakes" thus far.
May God guide your family on this decision.
Jim, have you ever thought of writing as an occupation?
Jen - WOW - That's alot to try to comprehend. Am praying for you & yours.
Jeri - that was a really good comment on Joel's this morning!
Lisa - It's pretty alarming to think the next "potential" president has been influenced by this type of "pastor".
Anne;
Writing isn't the problem. Getting someone to buy what I write -- now THAT's a problem!
<><
Nate, I quit reading both of those. It's all sensationalism these days. I tried like crazy one day to find a site of just praise reports, I couldn't find one.
Now there's a ministry.
Let's shout out the glory of God, his goodness and mercy.
Jen
may God guide your path as you make this difficult decision. Many would be so tickled to adopt your babies. We nearly went that route ourselves.
That's actually a good idea, Lori....
Didn't Mike mention he could set up a website for us? I'd love to set that as my homepage...a hub of praise and glory stories!
Blessings,
Jen
Nate, Harold, Grumpy, anyone -
Have any of you heard about the 13 crystal skulls? I'm watching the travel channel right now, "Top ten places of mystery" Very bizarre! Allegedly, they have found 5 of the 13, left behind by the Mayans for future people to understand... something. They can not figure out how the skull was made, there are no tool marks or hand tool marks to show how they were created. (looks exactly like a skull) Also, the crystal used to make it is the same as a computer chip, they think they may be filled with an astronomical amount of info. & may be able to figure it all out when all 13 are found.
BTW - Nate, I agree, Fox's website is getting ridiculous with entertainer's & stupid stuff.
Hi jib and thanks for the encouragement (and everyone else, too)...
I had a feeling - can't pinpoint just why - that you might be a kindred spirit in these concerns.
I don't have a problem with the idea of embryo adoption; actually I'm so thankful the option exists! I was 50/50 before we had our children, but now that they're here, my heart has gone 100% toward keeping the family together. There are many emotional reasons of course, but many practical ones as well...health history, having to explain to our kids about their siblings, etc. If something happened to prevent us from having them ourselves, it's a no-brainer. But if it's just a matter of trusting God to provide for more mouths to feed, then I don't feel peace about going that route. And our 'plan' went way off track 3 years ago anyway, so I don't get too attached to any plans these days :-)
No decisions yet either way, but we know we need to be in agreement before we can proceed. Otherwise, one of us will have either regrets or resentment in our heart.
Blessings,
Jen
Do it, there's nothing out there.
Call it "Yadah, Yadah, Yadah"
that's hebrew for, "Praise, Praise, Praise"
Lori (Campsmore)
The hand tools are a very good idea. I have also been collecting some "handy" books such as the Foxfire book, and some survivalist books. I believe the Foxfire series was a college project to document Appalachian living. The first book has info about making lye soap and moonshine. (think fuel)
It is sure going to take the Lord's help to be able to go back to "simple" living. We as a culture are truly spoiled!
TexasDave
Texas Dave, I was at the Foxfire museum on Feb 7th in Mountain City Ga. They moved it from the bottom of Black Rock Mtn to about 1/3 up.
We've purchased a number of those books over the years.
Very interesting and have good stories too.
Wow, lots going on around here lately!
Grany, I'm glad you are doing ok.
Nate..you have a born again boss? Cool!
So Chris is a friend of Macs? Why am I not surprised? (Actually, is Chris a real person?)
Hopefully I'll catch up with everything else.
We've had 2 tragedies around here in the past week. Please remember these families in your prayers.
One is a terrible accident...the driver was in an accident that killed his best 19 yr old friend (whose parents are believers).
The other is a friend of mine's husband died. They have a son with a significant handicap. It's not going to be easy for any of them
So please keep them all in your prayers, along with everyone else.
Seems like a lot is going on!
God Bless you all!
<><
Thanks Nate. I'm confused, I thought you now lived in Canada with John & Harold? Wait, does Harold live in Canada?
I thought I had a pretty good memory where everyone was - I'm gonna blame this one on the pain pills! lol
Donna - Sorry to hear of the 2 deaths.
Is Chris really Mac's friend or are they both just fellow Aussie's?
Alesia, I've never heard of Chris...but I'm happy to be his friend. A man can't have too many of em.
I thought Grany said something about Chris being Mac's friend.
Spring time...flowers blooming, the warmth of the sun...ahh sounds nice.
We still have a ton of snow here, but spring seems to be right around the corner....even though its in the 30's now.
I did say that Chris was Mac's friend but I was fishing for the secret post the our reclusive Mr. Hyde posted on Joel's. So, chris was the only one with a name but not registered blogger. So, I got no fish! Oh, well, Chris is a fellow Aussie or near by.
And I really like his comments.
You guys are really getting my interest tickled with your talk of Fox News. They have been this way ever since Anna Nichole Smith days last year. But you what; gossip always has sold and the truth people like to drag in the dirt. I think a few well sent letters via Email might let them know we are very unhappy with their programming and news gathering.
Well, children, all of us old folks have to go to bed. Take care of the cave and keep a light burning for any stragglers.
Love you all,
Grany
There's a new book out by George Barna and Frank Viola, "Pagan Christianity: Exploring the Roots of Our Church Practices".
The book appears to be advocating a return to "primitive" Christianity (a.k. 1st Century Christianity - whatever that is), doing away with all the practices and customs that were derived, or seem to have been derived from pagan practices. Key to this "reformation" seems to be the desire to dispense with any formal leadership in the local churches.
One of the quotes from the book says:
Note that we are using the term pastor throughout this chapter to depict the contemporary pastoral office and role, not the specific individual who fills this role. By and large, those who serve in the office of pastor are wonderful people. They are honorable, decent, and very often gifted Christians who love God and have a zeal to serve His people. But it is the role they fill that both Scripture and church history are opposed to. [emphasis added]
Frank Viola is a very outspoken proponent of "house churches" that operate outside of the traditional denominational churches.
I smell "Emergent Church" theology and doctrines.
Here is a link to an interview with Barna and Viola.
I think that this book will get a lot of attention, partly because so many people in the US and Canada have heard of the Barna Group and their assessments of the modern-day Church.
I personally think this is a VERY dangerous book.
John
I just looked at the fox news site and you're right. Its mostly about movie stars and other ridiculous things like that.
What a shame!
I did find one item of interest on the Fox web site:
First Catholic Church Opens in Qatar, Sparking Fear of Backlash Against Christians
DOHA, Qatar — Qatar's first Christian church has no cross, no bell and no steeple.
And when 5,000 faithful flock to Our Lady of the Rosary to celebrate its historic consecration this weekend, they pray no one will notice.
Father Tom Veneracion, the parish priest, is worried about a backlash. ... But some people in this Muslim country have branded it an offense; one prominent politician has called for a national referendum to determine its fate.
As promised, some teachings on healing. As this is going to be quite a long article, I will be posting it as several posts on my own blog.
Healing - Part 1: Common, yet false "Traditions of men" concerning Healing
Please feel free to comment on the posts as you fell led.
John
I agree that Fox News has gone down the tubes. The only way to get any real news on TV is to read the trailers at the bottom of the screen!
Jen,I have twin grandbabies, a result of IV. What a blessing!! I'm praying G-ds grace and wisdom for you.
Jamie
John.....really, really good
During the Anna Nicole frenzy I wrote to Foxnews online and told them if they didn't stop acting like a tabloid, I was going to make Anderson Cooper my homepage. Then I visited AC's site and guess what the big story was!
I heard O'Reilly on the radio the other day pointing out that on TV they know the ratings every fifteen minutes or so and if they go off the latest stupid gossip story of the month (my words not his, and this was last week when you couldn't get away from Spitzer for anything) the ratings tumbled!
So, I would love to see us, the viewers, boycott any kind of tabloid type story. A brief story about what's happening is just fine, but not the rehashing of every tiny little detail over and over and over. It is our own fault. I turn the channel whenever this kind of stuff comes up, including the overindulgence of cases like Natalie Holloway. Note, I'm not opposed to the original story and I'm sorry for the people involved, it's the overindulgent voyeurism I object to.
OK, that was my rant for the day.
Too bad the church is called "Our Lady of the Rosary".
The last thing I want to do is get into or start a whole other debate, etc....but sheesh!
Edifying Mary, the saints or the rosary beads is not biblical at all.
I was raised Catholic; there is just too much about it that is taught or followed thru tradition.
I don't mean to come down on you personally, Jim, about the Catholic Church and I realize (thanks to Mac pointing it out a while back) that Protestant churches are not necessarily all that great either!
Too bad its not at least called Christ the King or something.
I'm at the point where I hate to even enter a church for a wedding, funeral or anything if its even called St. something.
I watched Geraldo for a short period of time not too long ago..and felt like I was watching Jerry Springer.
Guess that shows where most of America's mentality is at.
Larry King had these 'call girls' on his show the other day and they came across as almost glorifying prostitution. I was glad he kept referring to them and their trade as 'prostitutes'.
So there's some more ranting for the day!
Maybe more to come!
:)
at least one of my home pages is wnd.com
I agree with Nate-I've almost quit looking at news sites other than drudge who isn't quite as sensationalist as the rest of them.
a website filled with edifying news and good news might be more difficult to do than one might think but it would be a nice change
Reuters is pretty good
Boatman,
Re: Pagan Chuch practices
Thanks for alerting our radar screen. I read part of it but will read on when I have more time.
So I don't know exactly where they are going w/this book.
I have studied quite a bit on Pagan Church practices in my younger(stupid) years when I was a Jehovah's witness.
They try to "set themselves apart" by saying they are "not of this world" because they don't incorporate any of the "pagan" church practices into their beliefs.
That THEY are imitating the 1st century Chrisitans.
So for awhile I did not practice any of the worldly "Religious Holidays".
This aspect of their beliefs did initially attract me to JW's.
Then the other false doctrines crept in-like Jesus was created and is not one w/the father. He was actually Michael the Archangel.
The blood doctrine-taken to the extreme.
The clincher-which ultimately led me to not believe they were the "truth" anymore. That the JW's were the "ONLY" True Christians and everyone else was going to die. Die as in there is no Literal Hell. Your just dead-sleeping-non-existent. (It's nice to think that there is no literal Hell-but look at the overview of their beliefs. Satan is working in/on this over time.He always attemps to creep the same messages into the Church. He knows what works.)
So as we find out more about this book I'll be looking for some of the same "signs" in it.
Interesting this has come up at a time when in my Church-there is a strong direction to have smaller groups form. I think the Spirit is leading this as a preperation for things to come. We may not be able to meet in large gatherings at times in the future.
So my thought is that it may be an attack to take this aspect to an extreme and distort and lead people away.
Anyway, that's all folks.
Lisa
LIsa,
I would love to hear about you converting from JW to true Christianity.
We have a large JW population here, they come around weekly.
Right now, the only we know how to deal with them is; don't open the door, if you do, speak another language... sign language, spanish, pig latin...
I know that's harsh, but we've been inundated in the past by JW's who only want to convert and wouldn't listen to anything we had to say.
I don't want to be heartless, I'm sincere in my request as to how to reach these people.
lori
Donna, Shalom! I can appreciate what you're saying, but believe me, if they had called the church "Christ the King" people wouldn't be talking about bombing the building, it would have been bombed. Muslim culture honors Miriam, the mother of the prophet Issa. By naming the church in her honor, it helped them sail under the radar as long as they did.
<><
Did anonymouse from Joel's just make a reference to something that was brought up here? About witnesssing to JW's? Was this mentioned at Joel's too? Because I can not find reference to it there.
Interesting....
You're right, Alesia. Perhaps it was someone from here who posted it anonymously at Joel's.
It wasn't me.
I just got a call from my son Ross who's at work. He suddenly feels very ill.
Dizziness, nausea, chills.... I sent my daughter to pick him up since I'm an hour or more away.
Please pray for him not to lose his job. The manager on duty told him just to take a break, but this kid needs to go home.
He never gets ill, so it's all so very weird.
I've rebuked Satan and claimed God's promises for us.
Would the Anonymous poster on Joel's chime in and identify him/herself?
I thought it was Alesia at first, than I thought Wilma/Grany.
Fess up!
Lori - It wasn't me. Why would you think that? I was the one that questioned it to begin with!
I'm sure it wasn't Alesia. And it really doesn't matter who it was.
And, just to clarify, in case people start wondering if "Hyde" is posting anonymously - actually I was using the Scrubb ID. Alesia worked it out immediately. Scrubb posted the Humane Mouse Trap link to stir anony up some posts back.
Alesia, I'm sorry, I shouldv'e said, I thought it was you before you asked who posted it.
forgive me? here's a cannoli.
lori
LOL Lori, of course I forgive you, plus... me like cannoli's, thanks!
Mac - Glad you gave up Scrubb, since Wilma really wanted to know & was "fishing" I was going to have to fink on you! ;)
I was finking about doing it anyway.
Don't I get a cannoli?
Nope. You already pigged out on ice cream this week!
Mac - When did you add the picture? I like it!
Hyde - How about this for the next post?
I will love Thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my ROCK, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 18:1-2
swiped it from one of your posts
Added it yesterday. I found it
here
You're scaring me now. I was just about to consult with you re the next post.
I like it. Do you want to go ahead and post it?
Glory to God!!!!
and two cannoli's for Mr. Hyde, a kind and generous host.
Nate - that made me smile, thanks.
Mac, er Mr Hyde, Done - new post is up.
