The Man in Charge of the Universe

"The teaching of the New Testament is that now, at this very moment, there is a Man in heaven appearing in the presence of God for us. He is as certainly a man as was Adam or Moses or Paul; he is a man glorified, but his glorification did not de-humanize him. Today he is a real man, of the race of mankind, bearing our lineaments and dimensions, a visible and audible man, whom any other man would recognize instantly as one of us.

"But more than this, he is the heir of all things, Lord of all lords, head of the church, firstborn of the new creation. He is the way to God, the life of the believer, the hope of Israel, and the high priest of every true worshiper. He holds the keys of death and hell, and stands as advocate and surety for everyone who believes on him in truth. Salvation comes not by accepting the finished work, or deciding for Christ; it comes by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, the whole, living, victorious Lord who, as God and man, fought our fight and won it, accepted our debt as his own and paid it, took our sins and died under them, and rose again to set us free. This is the true Christ; nothing less will do." (A.W. Tozer)

Vicki,

Go ahead and say it. You think we are all a part of Babylon the Great & have to "come out of her" just because we don't worship on Saturday. That seems to be the basis & focal point of 7th day.

Is that what you believe in your heart?

We are saved not by keeping ANY of the Ten Commandments for that matter. We are saved by faith through grace which is by allowing Christ to reign supreme in our lives & believing in the promises of God's Word.

People do not live a righteous life in their own flesh & break the bondages of sin without the Holy Spirit's power in their lives. Multitudes of Christians obey God's word & are sanctified by His power. Since obvious proof is readily available to see in these changed lives-you know that God lives in them, through them & with them. They are saved.

Even IF keeping the Sabbath was part of a law we were suppose to follow-we would not be condemned for not doing so as no one has ever keep any of the 10 commandments perfectly aside from Christ Himself.

Look at the numbers of Christians worldwide. Is it really logical that "ONLY" the 7th Day's have it 100% right & they have a niche on the Salvation market?

I'm afraid your going to be in for a very rude awakening unless you wake up to the point that not everything they say is truth.

They have got you convinced that worship on Saturday is the key to
7th Days having a hotline to God.

Sorry-it's just simply not true & I pray someday that you'll realize
who the Body of Christ really consists of.

Meanwhile-I still love ya & hope you stick around. (:

Read all of Colossians 2.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect of an holyday or of the new moon or of the Sabbath days.

If you read the scripture before Col 2:16 it explains- do not fall for man's empty philosophy & legalism. Everything needed for life is in Christ Jesus. All of the traditions the Jews kept are all signs pointing to Jesus Himself. Jesus was Jewish and also kept the customs when he was on earth but He is the fulfillment of all of these things.

It says right in God's word not to allow people to judge you regarding the "Sabbath". That means in keeping it as with the rest of all the traditions & laws if you read the full context.
I guess the 7th Day's like to overlook that scripture & the entire chapter but rationalize it another way I'm sure. It's just not going to mesh w/their philosophy of being the only "chosen ones."

you know, I think I advised at one point not to open the whole saturday vs sunday discussion as it is a discussion that can be very divisive and quite frankly is not necessary to have.

what day of the week one chooses to rest and worship is not an essential doctrine imo. essential doctrines are the Trinity, substitionary atonement, inerrancy of scripture etc.

this is part of what we were talking about in Sunday school this morning-the wrangling over the unimportant presents a poor witness to those outside the church and certainly wrangling over less essential doctrines neither gives the appearance of love, nor does it actually edify the saints.

has anyone any information good or bad on Voddie Buachman ministries? I searched the discernment sites and nothing is noted in a negative fashion but thought I would ask if anyone knows of any move by him to the contemplative or emergent church?he has a book "Faith Driven Family" and the excerpts I've read and from talking with others it seems to be very Biblical and doesn't seem to fall into the emergent church arena but the title makes me wary

Jib,

I agree wrangling over Saturday vs. Sunday issue would be unimportant to general Christendom but it is important in a greater sense to those bound under particular religious affiliations.

It's difficult to see it from my point of view unless you have been though a similar circumstance - which I don't think you have.

What if being a JW, Mormon, or 7day means they are not actually considered a part of the Body of Christ?

Does that increase the importance of the discussion? Or we just don't concern ourselves w/such matters and go on to sip our lattes. Who really loves rocking the boat?

It may surprise you but I don't. But if it means trying to reason & assist someone in seeking God then I'm willing to go out on a limb and suffer the consequences.

Just call me a glutton for punishment.

Vicki has already stated that she thinks all of us are true Christians and was very gracious when this whole subject started coming up so to make the statement that you did, in the fashion that you did was unnecessarily and deliberately inflammatory and while that does appear to be the case as a general rule it does not appear to be the case in this specific instance.

you are correct I did not come out of a cult however I had the opposite problem. I was raised in a church that taught and initially went to a school that taught that only Baptists had the answers and that anyone who didn't completely agree with what Baptist's believed were going to hell, that no one in any of the mainstream denominations were actual true Christians, that all Catholics were going to hell and that those who spoke in tongues were nothing short of demon possessed. So, I go to a Presbyterian church, I married a Catholic and I am no longer a cessasionist with regards to tongues and they aren't necessarily demon possessed although folks like Todd Bentley do raise my eyebrows a bit. In point of fact I am far more liberal if you will than I was.

As to cults-there are some that teach that those who believe in the prosperity gospel aren't true Christians either and are involved in a cult-I think that's a bit over the top personally. In fact Lon Solomon's church used to have something to that effect on their website within the last 2 years or so although it's no longer there.

I personally would have approached things in a far different matter than putting words in someone's mouth that they didn't say, didn't imply.

Thank you, Mr. Hyde. That link about the Sabbath was interesting. I totally agree with this verse that was mentioned: The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27).

And thank you, Jib. I appreciate your kind words. I know Lisa has only good intentions, so I have not taken offense. We can all be friends here even though we have different beliefs. I would venture to guess that not one of you believes exactly the same as any other person on this blog.

As a point of clarification, I think a person is a legalist only if they think they can earn their salvation. We can do nothing. Jesus died for us and did it all! We are justified by our faith and judged by our works. God gives us the desire to do what is right, and then gives us the strength to do it!

Do I think a Sunday-keeper will be lost? No! I believe there will be a lot of Sunday-keeping Christians in heaven, and there will be a lot of seventh-day Sabbath-keepers in the lake of fire. Surprised?

The Bible tells us sin is the transgression of the law, and Jesus says sin is knowing to do good and not doing it.

God winks at our ignorance when we don’t know the truth. But when God reveals truth to a person and they turn away from that truth, WHATEVER it is, then it’s a sin. That’s when we can be lost.

Jesus said, “If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.”

I go to church on the Saturday Sabbath because I am convicted that this is the day God wants me to worship Him. I love God and want to obey Him and serve Him on the day that He chose. There is a wonderful blessing attached to the Sabbath—a day of worship and rest, a day to commune with my Lord, to enjoy nature, and to put aside the things of this world to spend time with my Creator. I want to share this blessing with you here because I think so much about you all.

I cannot convince someone of anything…only the Holy Spirit can do that, so I will rest my case. But if anyone wants to email me privately about this or anything else, you can find my email address on my blog (click on “Michigander”, then see under “Contact”).

Lisa, re: Colossians 2--

The ordinances that were nailed to the cross were not the Ten Commandments, but the Law of Moses.

Nowhere in the Bible are the Ten Commandments identified as ordinances.

The mosaic laws were put on the outside of the ark, and the 10 C. inside. Also, meat and drink are not mentioned in the 10 C., so this was talking about the ordinances of the mosaic law.

The "sabbaths" mentioned in Colossians 2:16,17 says that they are a "shadow of things to come." They were yearly sabbaths which were a shadow--a part of the ordinance system which was nailed to the cross--not the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments.

unable to listen well to the message from my current location but the college he is intending to send his children to could potentially be a warning. i graduated from one of them listed and I would not send my child there at all. They are currently having a debated on whether one can know with certainty or only assurance that one is saved-while on the surface it seems like splitting hairs it really is a rather important distinction. They of course deny this is even taking place but they have lost a number of good solid faculty and are headed into the emergent movement. They were to have had Shane Clairborne speak and when he was uninvited due to alumni outcry the VP of student affairs went to chapel dressed up like him in protest. They have also had other speakers in which should raise a few eyebrows-most recently they had some woman in with a U2 driven message (I like U2 don't get me wrong but they aren't the band they once were and as a chapel service???)

Every college listed by him is listed on the Lighthouse trails site as promoting the contemplative spirituality movement and or the emergent church.

as to the Reformed theology-that may also be an issue. There is a new reformed movement out there which is quite questionable but off the top of my head can't point you to the site.

Hi there! How is that new grandbaby?

Okay, a quick comment on Sat. versus Sun. worship.

For now, I believe it is a matter of conscience. Paul said, in 1 Cor. 9:24b,..."So run (your race) that you may lay hold (of the prize) and make it yours."
Amplified Bible.

Because during the M reign we very well may be back to Sat. worship? Remember Jesus was Jewish. The Son of David.

Anyhow, running my race, and running your race may have different priorities. But it's the same Holy Spirit that is giving us our instructions. One reason we're called the body of Christ, with Jesus being the head of the Church. We all have different callings, etc.

Just a few thoughts.

God bless,...and live long and prosper. (smile)

Shalom, all! Well, the Lord works in mysterious ways.

I believe I mentioned that a week and a half ago I sold my car, and that the check for it arrived late last week. (I'm feeling better now that I'm back on my meds, BTW.) When I started trying to simplify my life, one thing I promised G_D is that whatever I sold, I would not buy back.

Well, this morning, I got a haircut. This afternoon, I got a job. If I thought there was a connection between the two I would have shaved my head bald months ago. The job is a temporary contract position, for 4 to 6 weeks, to replace someone going on maternity/paternity leave. They may not come back, so it MAY become permanent. The kicker: it's up in Cedar Rapids, 30 miles away.

Since my little scooter will only do 30 miles an hour, I really can't drive it up there and back every day. So in the meantime, after some REALLY quick prayers (meaning I may need to change direction later) I am:

1. renting a car for the foreseeable future (I was thinking I could avoid renting on the weekend, but maybe not), and

2. get my motorcycle license and buy a faster scooter.

I know that no matter what else I might do, I am feeling SUCH a strong aversion to buying another car. G_D may both inspire me and provide the means for me to buy another car in the future, but for now, I was feeling so free: I didn't have to pay a lot in gas, I didn't have to pay for insurance, I didn't have to pay for the license plates -- in short, it was a really big cut on my monthly expenses. The biggest problem I see with the scooter is that I don't have a garage, so I don't know what it will be like trying to start the scooter in the winter; and in Iowa winter driving means driving on ice. That, frankly, frightens me more than anything else.

So, we'll see what G_D has in mind for me in the next few months. IN the meantime, I have a job that starts tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

<><

Oh, and BTW, Marge, when you wrote "Remember Jesus was Jewish", you are incorrect. Jesus IS Jewish. Unless Resurrection changes you into something totally different, if you were German-Irish before you'll be German-Irish after.

Jib,

Vicki did state that she believes we are sincere & love Jesus. However, it was mentioned in regards to the SDA beliefs that we are a part of "Babylon the Great" and should "come out of her" because we don't worship on Saturday. That constitutes us a "true" Christians in their eyes?

SDA believes "Sunday Worship" is the mark of the Beast.

I've already read up on what the SDA beliefs are but that doesn't mean that Vicki personally has to believe it all. So instead of assuming everything she believes I rather be frank and ask her directly.

If being direct is too offensive then I don't know what to tell you.

If someone thinks Sunday worship is the "mark of the Beast" then when the mark really comes along-then what? I guess it will depend upon what the One World Religion ends up forming into.

We don't know if the RFID chip will end up implementing the "cannot buy or sell" mark but the head people in the SDA in the Healthcare industry are the ones actually promoting this technology & behind selling it to the public. I find that quite ironic myself.

Now whether the SDA false teachings are enough to affect a person's salvation-I don't have the answer to that one.

I do know that if a "Christian" does not have the knowledge & belief in the "Doctrine of Christ" they don't have Christ.

What concerned me the most is the belief in Jesus being Michael the Archangel. The SDA's & JW's are very similar in some of their doctrines. The JW's believe that Michael was a created being-thus Jesus was created. That definitely nullifies the belief in the Doctrine of Christ which is required unto salvation.

Prophecy in the News had a recent teaching on this.Tough Love: John's-Doctrine of Christ

Today I checked on the SDA site & they state that Jesus is Michael the Archangel & as the “Messenger” but that He was not created and rather He is God. Now that makes me feel a little better so it appears that they do in fact believe in the Doctrine of Christ.

I wanted to also hear from X-7th Day Adventists & found a great site called EXAdventist Outreach and it is a ministry of former 7th day Adventists. It's full of good articles, testimonies, videos, and all sorts of things.

In particular I wanted to hear the testimonies. The majority who came out of the 7th Day organization mentioned that they realized later that they never had a personal relationship with Christ but were more focused on legalistic principals. A couple of them were former ministers.

Does that mean all 7th Day's are the same? I don't think it does since we have enough of our own spiritually dead pew warmers in general Christendom.

The Church in general is currently heading into the state of Apostasy (as prophesied) so we all have to be on guard & watch out for false teachings/teachers & if we find ourselves under the shepherding of such we should get out from among them as well.

If Christ doesn't return fairly soon then we may all eventually end up in a house Church scenario such as what is currently common in China & other closed nations. Learning how Christians work together in Christ under such circumstances could end up being a beneficial subject for all of us to study right now.

Marge- You're right about the Sabbath being mentioned in the Millenium. It's found in Isaiah 66:23. "And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, ALl flesh shall some to worship before Me," says the LORD.

23) "And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, And their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh."

(23. A commentator said that this may be a place where people can literally view hell.)

I like his ending quote in relation to how Christians may unknowingly relate to one another when they don't have knowledge of God's purpose & order in how to view spiritual gifts in the body of Christ.

"There are two kinds of Christians it seems, those on the front line shooting at Satan. Then there are those in the back, shooting the ones on the front line in the back. In what position do you now find yourself? "

OK, who here has seen the TV program called It is Written hosted by Pastor Shawn Boonstra?

I can't say that I catch it too often but when I do, I am encouraged by his teaching. Good stuff in my opinion.

Lisa, I hope you've had a chance to see the TV program. You may not know it but he is a Seventh Day Adventist pastor.

As I've mentioned before, I currently attend a Foursquare Church (I'm not SDA). I'm convinced that there are good and bad, healthy and unhealthy, congregations in all denominations. From what I've seen, there are many Seventh Day Adventists that love the Lord dearly and serve Him very effectively.

Lisa, I appreciate the points you make and very often find myself in agreement with you. You are an incredible sister in Christ who stands firmly to her convictions and that is a good thing.

One thing I learned from another debate that came up here in the cave (the subject of which I have strong convictions) is that we often misunderstand the doctrinal positions of others. It turns out, that although there are some definite differences of opinion on many of the doctrines we have debated here, some differences are simply due to a lack of understanding of the others' positions than being really big substantive differences. The challenge is untangling someone's misconceptions about your doctrinal position (especially if it has been mischaracterized by others hundreds of times before). Isn't that right Jim C.?

By the way Jim, contratulations on the job! I know, it's the Lord but I am very happy for you brother. I have a feeling once they see the talent they've got, they won't want to let you go even if the person does come back from their leave.

Jib,

I must have some sort of magnetism that you are drawn to attack me because it seems like you do it at almost every opportunity. I say almost because I realize there have been times where you have refrained from doing so. Oh well, that just how it goes I guess.

I really hope everyone has a chance so go through that article on "Gifts of the Spirit through the Tabernacle" as there is some really good info in it we can all learn from. I finally just read it to the end & I'm going to have to go back & though it some more because some of the concepts are fairly deep.

I thought Jim G. could make a spread sheet of our current individual gifts (if you feel like sharing them) & we could discuss these things & how to relate to one another more effectively.

These Grace Gifts I'm pretty sure about. The Spiritual Gifts I'm less sure @ the moment. One I have is the gift of "tongues" & come to find out it's typically one of the 1st to be given out when a Christian starts out in their faith. So I've been led to & blessed w/a babe in Christ spiritual gift. Waaaaaa.

For the 7 fold "Grace Gifts/Motivational Gifts" of Romans 12 which he doesn't get to until the end of the teaching I was suprised to find I fall under the gift of Prophecy w/the 2nd the gift of Exhortation. (I thought this was similar to the Spiritial gift of prophecy but it's not.)

This is how he defines it: The word "prophecy" is derived from a Greek word that means "to speak forth." So it is not foretelling; it is forth-telling. So the person with the gift of prophecy is a person who is highly motivated to speak out and to speak forth...

2nd one-
The word Exhort is made up of two Greek words brought together, PAR-AK-ATH-ID-ZO. The latter part of the word means TO CALL NEAR, and the first part "PAR" means ALONG-SIDE.

Thus, and Exhorter is one who calls others ALONG-SIDE.

He is one who can stand off and observe that somebody is taking wrong steps; if they continue in that direction, they will end up with problems and frustration, if not disaster, in their spiritual walk. He can see where they are going and He calls them along-side. He exhorts them by telling them they are going the wrong way. He asks them to come and walk with him...

Now the Apostle I always admired the most was John & I end up being more like Paul. Oye Vey! I know some of the people here who have this one:

The Characteristics of the Motivational (Grace Gift) gift of Showing Mercy are illustrated in the life of the Apostle John.

(1) He has a concern about relationships. John said in First John 1:7, " But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another." John is concerned with relationships.

(2) An ability to sense joy, or distress, in an individual, or a group. This person has a real sensitivity to hurts, pains, or joy. He is also sensitive to words, and actions, that may hurt other people. Often, he will know the truth that needs to be spoken, but, he won't say anything because he is afraid it might hurt someone...

Anyway there are four more he describes in this category-and the others- Ministry Gifts & Spiritual Gifts which becomes more complex when comparing them to the Tabernacle & the Menorah/Lampstand.

Also, to let all know that my husband was offered a job yesterday and he accepted. The situation was; the district in the USPS that employed my husband was abolished. The entire district, there were 6 nationwide that were abolished. When they abolish a district the job description number is abolished as well. Even though they need the job done, it cannot be done with that number. Bizzare! He was still doing the same work, but thru the local plant, under a different number. So after 23 yrs, my husband had to reapply for jobs within the postal service. He was given a 2 week window of opportunity to reapply. If he didn't have a job there by Aug, he would have been laid off. He was 6 mos short of qualifying for early retirement.

The job he accepted is a step higher, so he has the potential to make more money. He had been topped out at his last level.

God be glorified. Please pray for the employees nationwide who will not have jobs.

Yes, Nate, are you still out there?

Jim C, I'm so happy to hear about the job. I hope you won't drive that cute little scooter on ice. I'm praying for the perfect car pool solution for you.

Lori, praise God for your husband's job. So many are hurting right now and I believe it will be getting much worse.

Because for some reasons that I know and some that elude me, God has shown me that I have been tasked with you (and that's not meant to sound perhaps as negative as it does it just seems to be the most appropriate word I could think of and I've been thinking for a little bit now because I don't think it conveys precisely what I mean)-and you really have no idea just how ironic that is. As a suggestion from the voice of experience, instead of considering yourself as an attacked victim in this last go around perhaps you could conisider that there is a grain of truth in what was said.

She's 18 and have let her back in to our house(got kicked out on her B-day.) We layed the our rules and she seems to continue to break them. As right now, her mom and I do not know where she is or what kind of things she is involved with/in. All I ask is that God would protect her and bring her back to Him if in fact she is a Christian. Japanese Quake and Tsunami Predicted July 22 2009

The guy originally wrote this at the beginning of the year. He is NOT a geologist or any of those other earth science specialties; he's an IT guy who programs computer games. He had an idea, checked it out, and posted his results on his blog, never imagining what a firestorm he would start.

To summarize, his theory is that Japan sits on the crux of four different tectonic plates, three of them major. When there is a total solar eclipse that takes place over a juncture of tectonic plates, the moon and the sun line up, adding to the gravitational pull of the tides. This extra tidal pull adds several million tons of water pressure over the junctures, weakening them and causing them to break, causing an earthquake.

He's had people going back and forth on this theory for the past seven months. He did his research and found that in Japan, there were major earthquakes associated with solar eclipses in over 85% of the cases. This association is between 6 hours before up to 8 days after the eclipse.

He's said repeatedly that this is just a theory, and that the only way to confirm it is to watch and see if there IS an earthquake in Japan.

That's very interesting about the predictions of an earthquake in Japan. Do you all remember the guy who predicted the earthquake in Greece? That was wild exspecially when it did happen! BTW, my daughter finally called my wife, but I wonder how the next 5 days will go as we have asked to pack it up and start moving. She thinks that since she is 18 she can do whatever. Its a long long that dragged us through a Christian girls home and a few other places. Please remember us through this weekend, as its a terible thing to go through. -Jec

Hi friends,
Quick note to thank you for your prayers and good wishes lately. Today is the last day of isolation (actually I'm not following the isolation protocols anymore, but need to get the house ready for the kids to come home tonight.)
The last 6 days have gone much more smoothly than I was advised they might and I am so thankful that I was able to undergo the radiation in a generally comfortable manner.
I will still be praying that no damage to the saliva glands and surrounding tissue was done as those issues can show up weeks later. I have some bloodwork tests in 3 months and then the first post-radiation scan in 6 months which will tell if all the tissue was burned out. God has been faithful in protecting me thus far. I love the promise of Jeremiah 1:12 "I am alert and active watching over My Word to perform it" so I see no reason to believe His protection won't extend to those parts as well and so I'm able to wrap up this phase with alot of confidence and peace.
I'm also excited that God has provided a way for me to share this journey with others via my blog. I've had lots of people who don't know the Lord reading along as I detailed the various events of the last few months. It's my hope that they will get a hunger for Him as a result and will be open to the work of the Spirit in their own lives in the days ahead.
I'd encourage anyone here who is facing a challenge to view it in the same way...an opportunity to draw closer to Him as He pours His goodness into your life while at the same time allowing Him to be poured out into the lives of others who will cross your path. I have no way of going to these people's homes and ministering to them directly, but I've entered countless homes 'electronically' and been able to do a little bit of that ministry just by sharing how God is moving in our lives at this time. He is faithful to our desire to serve Him and will give you all the elements of provision that are needed to do it! For me, that included a strong intercession team whose prayers I experienced daily. I wouldn't have the peaceful and confident witness I do without you supporting me and so I want to thank you for being part of His larger plan for my life.

Now it's back to tackling the kids (I hear Grandma is fending them off with a stick :-) and enjoying the rest of the summer.

Have a great rest of the week!
Blessings,
Jen

Jim, so great you have a job! I know a car is burdensome but maybe not so much so if you have a 30 mile trek to work in ice! It may actually be a blessing then! You know you could actually freeze to death!
I said before, I never judge anyone on what day they worship, but we have settled it by celebrating the 7th day with family and friends, and then meeting with church family on Sunday. Our country has grown so far away from G-d, it is hard to worship on any day! Nearly every job we've had has wanted us to rotate through at least 6 days a week! I will be shouting when the millenium is here!
We will all speak Hebrew In the Lord's day! Zephaniah 3:9 says, For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that, they may all call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent. I have heard from some ministry, I forget which one, that the scientists have proven that Pure Hebrew was the original language of the world. The original language of the Egyptians was written in hyrogliphics (I know I didn't spell that right!) and the original language of Hebrew was spelled with letters and numbers given to them by G-d! It was lost when the people were divided at the tower of Babel into 7 different languages and now, of course, we have many. So just think, when we learn Hebrew, we are learning an eternal language!
Jen, I am so glad your cave time is over! (as far as the sickness goes!) I know it is hard to be seperated from your family but it was badly needed for rest and recovery. When you have children, Lord knows you love them and want to be with them, but they will wear you out!
America's Got Talent has been preempted by Barak Obamas speech on healthcare! Ugh! I do agree we need to get people healthcare, I am in need of it myself now that my job has let me go, but there has to be a better way than putting our nation so far in debt! Why don't they let individuals buy health insurance like we do car insurance? The competition will drive the price of it down where we can afford it! And it won't put the U.S. in debt! And then to preempt America's Got Talent.....it's one show that is fun and CLEAN to watch for the most part!
I've been reading Perry Stone's "Unleashing the Beast." It is his view that ac will be Islamic. I can see his points of view but I find it very hard to believe that Jewish people would accept someone like that for a world leader. So I have heard 3 different possibilities. 1. Prince William, 2.Someone from Islam 3. Something supernatural from the abyss. I guess we will see... I really hope not! I hope we're outta here!

Jec, I heard someone talking today about things that come against our family. They said Moses asked G-d at the Reed Sea if He wasn't going to help them escape pharoah and his chariots. G-d told him to use what he had in his hand...the rod of authority. G-d has given us the rod of authority through the name of Y'shua/Jesus. We are suppose to pray in His name the authority over our families that anything that would come against them would be broken and cast away from them! It was a good lesson for me as I am dealing with a 21 year old stepson who is bipolar and psychotic. It is very trying and his Dad is overly lenient with him which makes the matter worse. I will be fasting and praying about my situation, and will include you and your daughter in these prayers. Maybe together we can accomplish more!
Campsmore I will also pray for your sister-in-law in Japan! Remember Noah and his family in the ark! It probably stank awful with all of the animals! My son-in-law said, when he was in the Marines, it was not uncommon for them to ride 80ft waves in the middle of the ocean! I would have been upchucking! Can you imagine the waves that Noah and his family had to ride when the entire world was flooded? And yet, through it all, G-d protected them on the ark He had them to build! I believe G-d will take care of your sister, as He will take care of all of us through these rought times!

I Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for an ensample; and they are written for our admonition upon whom the end of the world are come. The children of Israel are an example of us in the last days! If G-d carries us to the wilderness or Japan, He will provide and take care of us, as long as we keep our eyes upon Him!
I wish I could have seen Christians United For Israel on tv! I don't believe any of Charters channels carried it. I would have really loved to have been there!
Sorry this is so long! I have had computer problems and have fallen behind! I was just sitting here with my brain wheels spinning! A CALL to ACTION
-Darren Smith.

As the economy gets worse, we are seeing more and more people
join the ranks of the homeless. Last Saturday the alarming trend
of families being homeless continued. Three more new families
with kids were at the street outreach. All came to Galveston with the hopes of finding jobs and soon ran out of money and went from
hotels to the street.

Can you imagine living in the street with your kids? What about
trying to sleep with your wife and kids in an alley or on the beach?
It's not safe at all living in the street for men, much less families .

The group helping us Saturday were broken by the amount of
people we fed and prayed for Saturday morning, but the ones that
went back out that night were in shock as we passed out food and
blankets on the beach to a group living under a torn up hotel on the
beach. Most people don't realize how many people there are in
this condition, when in reality most are only 3 paychecks away
from being homeless. On the Houston news tonight they had a
report where in this last year 30 thousand more people, including
children, have been forced to the streets in Houston alone, not
counting the whole area. These are staggering numbers to say
the least, and I believe they are true from the increase we are
seeing in the street. With this, there is a huge opportunity to bring people to Christ if the Body steps up to the plate. The Church
should be on the front line of this harvest, but sadly it is not -or should I say - not yet.

I believe that God is stirring the remnant to arise and take to the
street. As I travel, I find many who have a heart to do just this and are asking for direction. We are working with a group in Wisconsin who are starting a street ministry right now in the inner city of Milwaukee. I will be going back up there in a few weeks to teach hands-on in the street to get them started. Please pray for us we also have a group in Virginia and New York City wanting to start up now as well.

I will continue to shout to the masses to awake for the Kingdom is
at hand and to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom no matter the
cost. It's funny how this offends so many religious people and how
many new critics that I have found. But I also have found people
from all over the world that feel the same way.

Please pray for us as our burden increases. We know the Lord
will supply. We are always looking for people who are willing to
take it to the streets. If you are in any of these areas and willing
to step out please contact us.

We also are looking for prayer warriors that want to connect with
us as we send prayer needs out to those who commit to pray as
well as street preachers and musicians. We also always need
supplies as well as support. We believe that God is building a
network of believers to shine the light during these hard times.

We have many ministry opportunities in many places; no matter what you can do, God can use you. Remember this, God is not
looking for your ability but your availability.

This is the greatest of all times to be serving the Lord as He is
pouring out His Spirit in abundance. Every time we are out we see miracles and great advancement of His Kingdom. Last but not least, I ask you to walk in faith and not fear in these hard times. God is still in control and will carry us through. We are on the verge of the greatest move of God in all times.

Did we talk about The Colony, on the Discovery Channel? I know JRed mentioned it at Look Up Fellowship.

Here's the blurb from the site:
In the first experiment of its kind, real people from a wide variety of backgrounds and skills will be challenged to rebuild their own civilization in a devastated world.

The test will take place in an isolated urban compound with no electricity from the grid, no running water, and no communication with the outside world.

I watched it on Tuesday and it was interesting to see how people might react in severe distress. They were kept up for 30 hours before the "experiment" got underway to simulate the stress a person would experience in a calamity. Even though it isn't really "real", the people seem to be reacting to situations as if it really is. Then again, I've never watched a reality show before, so maybe they are just really good actors!

I am watching it to get ideas about how to survive, that is how to make a useful item from something seemingly useless.

Anyone else watch it?

Shalom, all. Well, I just got a call from the rep at the temp agency that got me my gig. He was calling to tell me that they didn't need to me to come in tomorrow.

Frankly, it's a bit of a relief. I've spent the last 3 days there going out of my mind with boredom. I spent that time reading the quick-and-dirty manual they had on wireless internet access. (The company is called Dynamic Broadband, BTW -- http://www.dybb.net/. They provide wireless access to places like hotels, apartment buildings, dorms -- "Multi-Dwelling Units".) I was supposed to listen in on support calls by the guy I was supposed to be filling in for. In the three days I was there he got 5 calls.

In short, they were getting someone Just In Case during the 4 weeks he was scheduled to be off (he told me he was planning on 3). Seeing me pace around trying not to fall asleep from boredom made them realize that they didn't need someone there for all that time. So, I'm back to working.

Thanks for all the prayers, though. I know they helped.

A sister in Christ told me today that she heard Avi Lipkin, alias Victor Mordecai, speak at her church last night. She said his talk was VERY interesting. She said he was well connected to Israeli intelligence and that in the past day or two he had learned that the current U.S. administration had threatened to halt all ammo and arms shipments to Israel if they don't do what the U.S. is asking them to do.

There was much more that he said regarding us being in the last days according to Bible prophecy regarding end times events.

I'd love to an audio recording if the church made one. My friend is going to check on it for me. Is anyone here familiar with Avi?

Good opinion piece in the WSJ.

The President Takes a Hard Line on Israel
Yet he doesn’t want to be seen as ‘meddling’ in Iran
.

...The Obama approach in the Middle East is predicated on what might be called the Arab “grievance narrative,” which holds that Israel was created as a result of Western guilt about the Holocaust. It is also based on the idea that, as the president suggested in his Cairo speech, there is moral equivalence between the Holocaust and Palestinian “dislocation.”

Such language illustrates an inability to make distinctions. Arabs launched a war against Jewish self-determination and the state of Israel long before any Israeli “occupation” of their lands. When Israel seized land in a defensive war, it was the Arabs, not the Israelis, who kept Palestinian “refugees” in limbo for three generations to await Israel’s destruction.

As Mr. Netanyahu reminded Mr. Obama after the latter’s Cairo speech, the Arab claim that Israel was a land grab by the great powers to salve the collective conscience of the West after the Holocaust is a slander. On the contrary, he observed, Israel’s right to its homeland rests on the longstanding historical connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel. This right was ratified by the unanimous and legitimizing votes of the League of Nations and the U.N. Security Council’s permanent members, and validated by over 60 years of Israel’s successful, democratic statehood.

Israel’s “right to exist” was expressed best by Israeli diplomat Abba Eban in 1981. He wrote, “Israel’s right to exist, like that of the United States, Saudi Arabia, and 152 other states, is axiomatic and unreserved. Israel’s legitimacy is not suspended in midair, awaiting acknowledgment. . . . There is certainly no other state, big or small, young or old, that would consider mere recognition of its ‘right to exist’ a favor, or a negotiable concession.”

Vickie Winans really hooked me with this song when I first heard it back in 2004. This was the first video I saw where there was a real link between "hip-hop dancing" and "Christian". Just the right song to get you out of your seat!

Here's one more:

Prayer of Jabez, by According to John.

The video is titled "Transformation" by True Passion Media. I love the song and it's a good video, but I'm a little hesitant to post it. They've built the video around the "And God Said 'No'" poem without attributing the poem. The poem was written by Claudia Minden Weisz, and it's had quite a ride. She wrote it back in 1980, had it published in two different magazines, then it was published -- in mangled form -- in Ann Lander's column of 8/17/1996. Since then it's been altered and republished dozens of times. It turns out this video is using an altered form of the poem. To read the REAL poem, its history, and the story behind it, go to And God Said No.

This Thursday is the 9th of Av on the Hebraic calendar. It has been the day the worst things have happened to Israel in the past. It is a day of fasting and prayer for the Jews. I think it is very interesting as the Word says there is nothing new under the sun. History always repeats itself. I was wondering if the peace agreement will be signed on this day, in the year it happens. I do believe it is too late for it to happen this year if it is the day for it to happen. Anyway, remember them in your prayers. Jim, I will continue to pray for you that G-d will send you a good job. We experienced a miracle here. I have told you all before that my stepson is bipolar and psychotic. He actually got a job Friday! We are a state with one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation, and he found a job! If it can happen for him, Jim I KNOW it will happen for you!
OK. They finally posted the video for the little girl who sang so beautifully on America's Got Talent last week. She has my vote to win! Ciana Pelekai

Some of the comments I try to make I have to retry 3-5 times before they take & sometimes I just give up. (I'm "in line" for tech support.)

I'm reading a book titled:
"SEDUCTION OF THE SAINTS”, by Charles Crismier. "Staying Pure In a World of Deception."

Someone on another blog said it was really terrific so I hunted it down & bought it. So far so good.

It's a topic we should all really delve into considering all of the Biblical warnings for our times & what may lie ahead of us.

This book is broken down into Parts w/24 chapter descriptions under those.

Part 1 The Nature of Seduction
Part 2 The Truth about Deception
Part 4 Gateways to Deception
Part 5 False Gospels for Synthetic times
Part 6 Seducing Spirits & Doctrines.

It can be ordered through "Save America" 804-754-1822. (It wasn't on Amazon.)

Hi guys...Jenny here,

We just got back from our world-wind American History tour of 11 states in 10 days. Actually, we drove from Texas to Williamsburg to Washington D.C. and back with lots of stops in between. We wanted to do the trip last summer but with gas.....this summer proved to be much better. It was fantastic!! I thought everyone in congress and the senate should have required field trips once a month to walk the mall or go to Jamestowne and write a one page report on what America's freedom meant to so many before them and so many after them and what their role is to preserve it today. The contrast of what is going on in the inside to what all the monuments stand for on the outside is enough to make you burst into flames right there in front of the Smithsonian. (which the Smiths are all free admission by the way).

Anyway, the mall was truly amazing and I was proud to walk it and see the WW II memorial. Proud to watch family as they wheeled out white haired heros clutching flags and pictures of their comrades to take pictures in front of their state. My chest filled with pride as we marched down the reflection pool to get a glimpse at the big boy sitting at the end. My was Abe impressive. We paraded in front of him took all our pictures and made our way back out. From there you could see a good view of the pool, the Washington Monument with the Capitol building in the back. No matter how impressive all that looked and the fleeting pride of our country, I realized when God is taken out of the center of all this, it is nothing but sticks and stones.....and when his people are persecuted here and/or removed...I can barely imagine.

We spent two days in the Smiths. and we only scratched the surface.
Please take your children or grandchildren to Colonial Williamsburg....it is fabulous...lots of hands on for kids.

The weirdest thing we saw was in Alexandria, VA. We were searching for a restaurant off the beaten trail when we saw this huge, ornate beautiful tower in the distance. I thought great we must be in a good part of town this is some university or really old, neat church. As we got closer it got more beautiful and when we finally got right on it guess what it was.....the biggest Masonic temple/Lodge we've ever seen. After we closed our mouths it started pouring rain......got all kinds of weird feelings on that one!

Great to be home...Jim C praying for a new job opportunity for you!

Fighting the good fight,
Jenny

great stuff, Mac and Alesia. The blessings of God are wonderful.

I just dropped my daughter off in Des Moines last week, driving 3000 miles in 4 days just to make sure that we got rid of her. Then yesterday, she called to say that her boyfriend is now her fiance and has now officially agreed to take over payment plans next summer. She is switching from Canadian to being an American. He is one cool guy, and given time, we believe that he will be either a Bible teacher, or a pastor as well.

Also, a few months ago, I was looking for help on a publisher for her. She now has a book contract with Tate, and her first novel should be on the shelves in about 6 months. PTL.

God bless ya'll.

Jamestown is wonderful for kids if you are in the Williamsburg area. We all enjoyed it. They got to grind corn, beat a deer hide, and other things I can't remember at the moment.

campsmore said...

My kids loved Jamestown too. They loved all the hands on activites.

Another great place to go is in Northern neck Va to visit the birthplace of G. Washington. While there you can visit a little picnic area on the beach of the Potamac. It's a little known fact that you can pick up fossilized sharks teeth on that beach. We started digging with our hands and were cut, they're still sharp. I would take a small kitchen sifter, it wouldn't be too intrusive nor difficult for a small child to handle.

If you're in the same area, you absolutely must take the ferry across the jamestown river. My kids loved it and you're not too far from the Potomac Tunnel either and it's free. wow, it's cool coming up thru the tunnel over all that water.

Oops! I could go on forever...

Jamestowne was awesome, we dug out a canoe with an oyster shell like the Pohawtan Indians...what fun. We also saw Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's house. It was interesting because it was self supporting for everything....good place to get ideas.

I like the idea about Boston...have to put that on the "to do" list.

Homeschoolers, you might already know this (I did not) but in Colonial Williamsburg teachers get 50% off on tickets to see everything-got it for the whole family(Colonial only, not Jamestowne or Monticello) and in all the gift shops in the Smiths. you get 10% off-but you have to ask for it and show that you teach(once I found that out, I asked everywhere:)

I've been following the progress of the H1N1 virus through the UK and watching how they are handling it. Could be very interesting. Read an article on how they are targeting pregnant women to get the vacc. and are going to ignore the elderly with it. I thought preg women were not to get any vacc..... maybe because this one is genetically engineered? It is going to be interesting...the fear factor is going to have to be way up on this one. The first go around with the H1N1 didn't work. Makes you wonder just which rabbit are they gonna pull-out of their hat next? Remember Biden's prediction of after 6/7 months in office?

Yes, that is what we saw! Was all excited until we got to the front and saw the masonic emblem...just kept driving.

Although I was pregnant and it was about 100 degrees outside! I am glad you could see all of that stuff! I loved D.C. When I got the baby blues after the birth of our son, my husband would drive us into the city because I liked it so much.

It was 20 years ago-the last time I hung out w/a bunch of Aussies.

(Well, Alesia-all I can tell you is that I'm sure Mac has a trick or two up his sleeve.)

This group of stout young men gave quite a demonstration of what they do back home in the pub. They took a shot of liquor, lit it on fire, pulled down their britches to expose their bare bottoms, then placed the shot glass on their hind end & shook the suctioned shot glass around awhile before it was eventually downed.

I had never seen that done before nor have I ever seen it again since. (They were the crew from the America's Cup race.)

I wonder if Mac has a peculiar Aussie talent as well? If so, whatever it is I’m sure it’s quite impressive (:

Hope you two have lots more fun!!!

I haven't done a thorough search but the story about Jewish extremists on Wednesday storming Al-Aqsa Mosque and preforming religious rituals seems to only be reported in Arab and Iranian press. Hmmm. Seems like that would be a HUGE story that would make national news.

I'm wondering if it might be a fabrication. If it's true, why aren't there journalists from nations all over the world covering it?

I'm going to keep digging. It's an interesting story. If it's a fabricated news story for Arab consumption (a big IF at this point), that should also be in the news.

I'll keep digging.
