Beauty in the Details

You know, brethren, it is the details in which lies the beauty. If I trust Jesus as my Savior I shall be saved, but the enjoyment of faith comes from knowing him in his person, in his offices, in his work, in his present, and past, and future. We perceive his true beauty, by studying him, and observing him carefully, and with holy watchfulness. So it is with the doctrines; the mere whole of the doctrine... is blessed, but it is when we come to take the doctrine to pieces that we gain the purest enjoyment.

Excerpt From a sermon entitled "Seeing And Not Seeing, Or Men As Trees Walking" delivered July 22, 1866.

Third! I was just thinking about the threat from Korea. It is suppose to take place July 4th. Isn't that the day someone had said was the halfway mark to December 2012? Just a thought.
As for the Ark of the Covenant, it will definitely be interesting how that plays out. A friend of mine sent me this link today. Bible discoveries I don't know if it is credible but it is another theory. Anyway, there is no way to know until it happens!
Jim, I am praying for you.

I am just starting Dead Heat. Got to the part where the NK just blew up the US last night. Freaky is right. We all know how God has used Joel Roseberg in this way....

Jim C., Praying for you!!!! God is going to put you in charge of the library system in heaven I imagine. There is that scripture about anyone giving up loved ones on earth would be recompensed a hundred fold. I wonder if book collections count.

I know the signs are all here, and the Lord is coming so soon, yet I feel like I am struggling more so (and not always winning) with my flesh. You would think I would be more diligent rather than apathetic. Anybody else feel that way?

You've all been so kind to let me know that I wasn't really "left behind"! After the traumatic experience at Joel's, I'm extra sensitive. JK!

Lori, great Melodious Scripture, just beautiful.

Jim C, you are still in my prayers. I would have a hard time giving up books, too, and especially a set owned by your grandmother. What a find!

Donna, thanks for checking in, though I know you are pressed for time.

Jib, thanks for the info. I sometimes get far too busy and/or too exhausted to comment, too, so I understand. I'm praying for your family situation.

Christine, Shalom! No, July 4th of this year is just American Independence Day. Next year, though, July 19 2010 (8 Av) will mark the beginning of 42 months before Dec. 21, 2012.

I ran across a Dutch prophecy site today (on my other computer, so I can't post the URL now). One thing it mentioned is that all the prophecies from the past few centuries indicate that when things start happening, they will happen VERY fast. Up until the beginning of this year, I would not have believed that to be true. Yet now, everything seems to rushing so quickly, rushing headlong into disaster.

I watched the video of the Iranian girl, Neda, die. It was horrible. I can't get her eyes out of my mind. I am so sad for the Iranians right now. I have been praying much more for the Muslim people the last few days.

Jim C, bless you. It would be so hard to give up those books. Praying for you tonight. May you be comforted by the Lord and may He give you all that you need.

The last few days the thoughts of "take up my cross daily" and "not my will but your will" and "a soft answer turns away wrath" have been on my mind since I wake in the morning. I find myself calling on the Lord to help me with those things, and He has been faithful. It is really a daily struggle this wrestling with my flesh. I want my way and that is so hard to give up.

I have been reading The Revolution by Rosenberg the last week or so. I picked it back up to read after all of this started happening in Iran. So, so informative! I highly recommend it to anyone who has not read it yet. I have wanted to understand the Muslims who are not radical better and this has helped alot.

Good night all

I read another article (at WND, I think) that said that according to Islamic teachings, the Ark will be revealed by the Madhi when he comes as Messiah.
If this ark to be revealed tomorrow isn't the real deal (as the Temple Institute insists), and we know the Mahdi isn't the real deal either, perhaps they will go hand in hand.
Doesn't matter either way, though, since we know the Real Deal and that's where our focus profits us the most!

I have a lot of apologizing to do to a LOT of people. A year and a half ago I couldn't find a calendar online that would let me calculate the number of days between two dates, so I counted them by hand. Campsmore's comment at 3:15 AM pointed me to www.timeanddate.com, which has such a function. It turns out that even though I double-checked my work (even explaining and showing the calculations online, on Joel's old blog), I left off an entire Jewish year of 13 months. IOW, I only counted back 29 months, not 42. Plugging the date 21 Dec. 2012 into the Date calculator Lori pointed me to and subtracting 1260 days gives the date July 10, 2009, or about 15 days from now.

It turns out July 10 2009 has some date significance, as well. According to the Hebrew Date Converter, 10 July 2009 is 18 Tammuz 5769. The day before, on 9 July at dawn, marks the beginning of Tzom Tammuz, the beginning of three weeks of fasting commemorating the breaching of the walls of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar. At the end of the three weeks is Tisha B'Av, or the 9th of Av, which is the date of the destruction of the two Temples. This year, Tisha B'Av begins on Wed. July 29 at sundown.

As it stands, my original date of 19 July 2010 has some numerological significance, in that (depending on how you include the beginning or ending dates) it is 888 days until Dec. 21, 2012.

My apologies.

I am sitting here mulling over all of the posts, while eating chicken nuggets and hot sauce.
I am thinking about the date July 10,2009. I know we have done far worse in our land than Nebuchanezer. Are we destined to be the next ones to fulfill this prophecy? Knowing that some prophecies are fulfilled on more than one level. I pray, if it is, the Lord will watch over us and keep us in His care while He reigns down judgement on us. It is a little creepy, to say the least, that Korea is threatening to launch a nuclear missile at us on the 4th. Maybe there will be a delay....we just need to pray.
As for the Ark, the person over the church in Ethiopia had said they had made many copies of the ark to protect the original. If this is true, maybe what they think is original is a copy too. What a way to deceive millions of people! It is possible!
What amazes me about all of the world religions is that they not only teach their religion, but they try to discredit everything about G-d, the Jewish faith and the Christian faith. They don't feel like they have to discredit any other faith,so why pick on ours? Maybe....because it is the truth!
I am reading a book about our children that has been a real eye-opener for me. I am involved in children's ministry in our church and it has convicted me to the depths of my heart to try and help the children find a real spiritual relationship with the Lord, and not just teach a lesson every Sunday. I think it would be great for every parent to read. It is called "Redefining Children's Ministry in the 21st Century" and is written by Becky Fischer. You may not agree with her on every spiritual theology. We all have our own convictions, but the heart of the matter is the chid's heart and how we can win it to Jesus/Y'shua before they are old enough to decide that living for Him is boring. How we can teach our children who are being used of G-d to pray for the sick and minister to others! It is absolutely wonderful advice! I am going to enlist everyone who is working with our children to read the book and discuss what we can do to bring our children into relationship, and not just head knowledge with the Lord! I believe that, in these days and times, with so much occult and new age battling for our children's souls, it is a must do! Pray for our children!
Haven't heard from my appeal for school yet. Please keep praying for me. Also, my stepdaughter got mad at her brother today. She started hollering at him how he was taking "triple c." Never heard of that before. He has bipolar disorder and pschotic disorder. He has been in outpatient rehab. He is 21 years old and cannot seem to get his life together. I have been fasting and praying for satan to release his hold on him so that he may give his heart to the Lord. Anyway, I had been in his room one day last week and told my husband I had found 3 empty boxes of cold tablets and wondered why. That is what the "triple c" is. It can cause hallucinations, siezures, unconsciousness, and even death. We have found him unconscious and having seizures twice now. He really needs prayer!

One more thing. I have a question for all of you who are computer savy. I have Windows Vista and keep getting a blank page on my screen. It started out just being aggravating, I could start up my task manager and end it, it would disappear. Now I have updated to explorer 8. Now the blank page comes up and wipes out my icons around the edge so I cannot do anything. I can start up the tast manager, the blank page doesn't come up on it anymore to end it. I have to leave the task manager on while I am on the computer to have my icons available. I have tried going to the start menu and clicking on show desktop. It will disappear and reappear when I click on internet explorer. It is really frustrating and I was wondering if any of you know how to get rid of it! If it is lengthy, feel free to email me at chrstn_crtr@yahoo.com. I would sure appreciate it!

Another thought about the ark. The stones to make the ten commandments were suppose to come from the very throne of G-d. Looking at scriptures, it talks about the throne of G-d being made of sapphire. Ezekiel 1:26 and Ezekiel 10:1. Many people beleive because of this that the 10 commandments were engraved by the hand of G-d on stones of sapphire. I would think, if that were true, that may be one clue as to whether it is real or not. I keep an inexpensive sapphire ring on my finger as a reminder of the commandments of G-d.

btw

if you all haven't caught the news today both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson passed today. how sad-one lived for fame and fortune, gained the whole world and as far as we know lost her soul and the other was involved in a cult, lived for fame and fortune gained the world, got really weird and then lost his soul also. I ponder these things when someone dies especially those who are famous-what their reaction is to realizing just how wrong they were in this life time and their realization that their fate is set for eternity with no second chances. All deaths without Christ are sad but somehow those who have such God given talent (whether they chose to admit it or not) and who actively seem to go out of their way to live a life of sin just seem so much more sad.

Anonymous said...

I feel the same way about famous people dying. I think it bothered me more because I grew up in that generation where everything was Michael Jackson. It feels like another piece of my childhood has passed away. I guess that's what comes of getting old! LOL! It is amazing how fast we have lost 3 of our American icons in 1 week! Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson. Like everything else, it has accelerated! I watch the tragedy of their lives and know it is definitely true. Fame and fortune does not bring happiness. Only G-d can do that. One statement that struck me was from Michael J. He had said the reason why he loved children is because they always told you the truth. I guess that was a big thing coming from a man who paid people to be around him. All those people knew where their paychecks came from and, instead of being honest with him when he messed up, were his yes people. I know that G-d had to have placed someone in his life that was honest and tried to tell him the truth. It is sad that, as far as we know, he apparently chose not to listen. It should serve as a warning to all of us. We should pray for their families, all the children involved, that they will find G-d and find comfort in His Spirit.

Alesia said...

Jib, I hear what you're saying but I don't know how fair it is to presume Farrah Fawcett lost her soul.

I watched the special they did on her where she video taped her battle with cancer & she was pretty spiritual towards the end. She prayed & mentioned God & Jesus quite a bit.
I was pretty moved by that, actually.

In general, yes, I agree that it is pretty sad about famous people not really having a clue.

Who knows, maybe the shock people feel over someone like Michael Jackson dying so suddenly, at such an early age, will make people think about their own lives & move them closer to the Lord. Ya never know.
Let's pray for that!

donna said...

And don't forget about the guy on the cross next to Jesus. At the very end of His life, He believed.

None of us really knows what people are going thru in their last days and moments on earth.

All we can do is hope and pray He takes them home to be with Him forever.

Interesting!
Excerpt from the article linked below:

In its current issue, HSL reports rumors that "Some U.S. embassies worldwide are being advised to purchase massive amounts of local currencies; enough to last them a year. Some embassies are being sent enormous amounts of U.S. cash to purchase currencies from those governments, quietly. But not pound sterling. Inside the State Dept., there is a sense of sadness and foreboding that 'something' is about to happen ... within 180 days, but could be 120-150 days."

Yes, yes, it's paranoid. But paranoids have enemies -- and the Crash of 2008 really did happen.

HSL's suspicion: "Another FDR-style 'bank holiday' of indefinite length, perhaps soon, to let the insiders sort out the bank mess, which (despite their rosy propaganda campaign) is getting more out of their control every day. Insiders want to impose new bank rules. Widespread nationalization could result, already underway. It could also lead to a formal U.S. dollar devaluation, as FDR did by revaluing gold (and then confiscating it)."

Latest Schultz Shock: a 'bank holiday'

For all who prayed for me regarding the stressful job situation I was in with my supervisor -- Thank you.

I had a chance to speak with her today, actually at her request. The Lord gave me the right words I think. I know I haven't handled everything perfectly but I could tell the Lord was helping me to listen to Him and obey. It's not always easy to hear and often the flesh gets in the way when we need to obey.

There was an opportunity to transfer to another division. The fact that the position could even be opened up was miraculous in itself due to the fact that we are facing severe budget pressures that we already know mean people will be laid off.

Well, I was offered the position today and accepted. It is more secure and will be a good area for me to grow professionally. I'm going to be a fiscal analyst. Praise the Lord.

I loved MJ when I was younger than her! Her and her friends make up dances to some of his old songs, her band played "Thriller" once. I remember when Princess Diana died and how the world mourned for her. It was all so sad because she was such a tourtured individual too. I had loved her when I was a young girl too.

Bank holiday? Wow! I heard recently on Fox News that America has lost 40 banks since the beginning of the year. It looks like rough water ahead. I think about Noah and his family in the ark. I know they were protected but to hear thunder and see lightning through their skylight for the first time and to ride the high waves had to be a frighening and overwhelming experience! My son-in-law was a Marine. He said waves in the ocean could get 80 feet high! I am sure Noah and his family felt much higher ones! I can only imagine what they went through, but G-d was faithful and brought them through!

Hey Mac, Is this guy for real?

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

(If this is the case then when they leave I'll take their place. D.H. actually mentioned that he would like to live there so it wouldn't be a hard sell. Alesia-you better hurry up & marry Mac while you have a chance-lol.)

The other bookstore in town wasn't interested in it, and said it might be worth more as a "ripped-up book", destroying the book but keeping the pages with the illustrations.

I also couldn't sell any of my other books, and won't be able to until after August. All the students sold their books before moving, so the used bookstores are full, thank you.

Lisa, that report is a hoax. Kevin Rudd did not make those statements. They were actually attributed to our previous Prime Minister John Howard. While Howard didn't make the speech as layed out in that e-mail, he did, in fact, say most of those things over a period of time and was backed up by the other senators in parliament.

Hoax

I find it strange how the media made so much fun of Sarah Palin and her statement of having to protect Alaska from nuclear attack. Now it looks like her statements are more than true. I wonder if the people who made so much fun of her are eating their words now? She ought to make a public statement about it and remind them of how stupid they are.

...The number of skeptics, far from shrinking, is swelling. Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe now counts more than 700 scientists who disagree with the U.N. -- 13 times the number who authored the U.N.'s 2007 climate summary for policymakers. Joanne Simpson, the world's first woman to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology, expressed relief upon her retirement last year that she was finally free to speak "frankly" of her nonbelief. Dr. Kiminori Itoh, a Japanese environmental physical chemist who contributed to a U.N. climate report, dubs man-made warming "the worst scientific scandal in history." Norway's Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winner for physics, decries it as the "new religion." A group of 54 noted physicists, led by Princeton's Will Happer, is demanding the American Physical Society revise its position that the science is settled. (Both Nature and Science magazines have refused to run the physicists' open letter.)...

Hyde,

Of course-Ron Wyatt. I just took his claim as an interesting "story"

Unless I think the Holy Spirit is confirming something-I take all of these scenarios w/a grain of salt.

It's not that I don't think it's possible he was in contact w/supernatural beings-but were they masquerading as angels of light? So many of the false religions can be traced back to supernatural encounters w/the supernatural of one sort or another.

That is why the people who are affected by their encounters are so convicted & able to convince others that what they heard/encountered was real. They really did experience something-just not what they thought it was.

Well-we can expect this to be the case more & more @ this point in time. Who knows what will pop up around the next bend?

Just yesterday as I was driving to work, one of the hosts of a local Christian radio program was discussing the increase of demonic activity in the last days and how this relates to (or explains) UFO sightings. He also mentioned Nephilim. He noted that he is not the only one that is taling about this -- Chuck Missler has written about it for some time as well (as has been noted here at the Cave).

Anyway, I thought it iteresting how people in the church are paying more and more attention to this. Must be a reason.

Jim G., Shalom! Thanks for the postings on Chief Shoefoot! I especially liked in the article where he said "... that those who tacitly approve of Yanomamö violence could someday find themselves on the sharp end of a spear.

This reminded me of one of my favorite episodes of Babylon 5 (which I STILL think stands out as one of the best TV series ever). It was a history seminar that was being broadcast on a university channel. It had three "major historians" who were there to debate the legacy of Captain John Sheridan and his leadership of Babylon 5, some 20 years after its destruction. It was written so that viewers today could substitute "George Washington" or "Abraham Lincoln" for Sheridan in all the historians pronouncements: that it wasn't that Sheridan was a great leader; that he really had no influence over the envents, he was just there when historical events overtook them; that the individual has no real part to play in history, since we are all just players in the role of historical events; that personal honor, bravery, and valor have no place in the modern world.

About 3/4 of the way through the program, when you're ready to throw your chair through the TV screen at these pompous idiots who should "someday find themselves on the sharp end of a spear", Sheridan's widow arrives unannounced. She has been in seclusion for 20 years, and the historians are all ecstatic at the possibility of talking to her and getting her to validate their theories. She cuts them off:

"I have only one thing to say: John Sheridan was a good man."

She turns to leave and one of the historians asks, "Is that all you're going to say?"

She replied, "Would you have me say less?"

That one line will stay with me for the rest of my life. The historians are silent for a moment, then they start talking again, dismissing what she has said and would have gone on talking, but it's time for the seminar to end.

When I die, I want my life to be summed up in that way: He was a good man.

WND is no more sensationalistic than CNN or any one else and less so imo than many. Perhaps your bias is showing?

The Ark being revealed would be a big deal and I also took meaning from the original story that they were going to be reveling the ark today so I don't think one can accuse them of sensationalism when that is what the original article, when translated, seemed to say.

I do however think that a couple of recent books by Aaron Klein, their ME Chief, appear to be over the top and made me roll my eyes. The most recent one is entitled "the late state of Israel" or something like that. They should read their Bible a little more closely I think.

Huh. It took some checking but I figured out what happened. I'm using the Catholic bible. In the Protestant bibles Dan 3:23-24 read:

23 But these three men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, fell into the midst of the furnace of blazing fire still tied up.

24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, "Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?" They replied to the king, "Certainly, O king."

The Catholic bible, after 3:23, has verses 24-90 that include some of the most beautiful songs of praise in Scripture. You can read them by going here and scrolling down. Verse 91 continues with what was said in verse 24 in the Protestant bible.

The footnote for those verses reads: These verses are inspired additions to the Aramaic text of Daniel, translated from the Greek form of the book. They were originally composed in Hebrew or Aramaic, which has not been preserved. The church has always regarded them as part of the canonical Scriptures.

The Catholic bible also has Chapters 13 and 14; the stories of Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon (which has the story of Daniel in the Lion's Den).

I was reading the widget on the home page. It struck me how blood is not only the life of us, but how it seems to have a personality. I am thinking about how Abel's blood cried from the ground and then the words the widget said. It is an interesting thought. I wonder how much innocent blood is crying out now that abortion is legal? How much innocent blood is crying out from the holocaust, and other cruel deaths of the innocent? I am just thankful that, in my humanness, I can't hear it. It must really grieve the heart of G-d.
I heard on Fox news Friday that we now have had 45 banks fail since the first of this year. The idea of a bank holiday is probably not far around the corner.
Jim, I haven't been here long but, from what I have seen you post, I also believe you are a good man!
My understanding about the story of the revealing of the ark is that it was a combination of two things. Mistranslation and hype. The news mistranslated the date. The revealing was actually suppose to take place on June 19. The hype came from the man over the Ethiopian church. When he was confronted about his promise to reveal the ark, he recanted saying that he had not promised to reveal the ark, only to confirm it's existence. That can't be true because he went to great length to say the Prince was going to fund the revealing and the exhibition of the ark! I really do believe we need to pray for people who are considered leaders of the church. When they hype things up, tell lies, or fall openly into sin, it hurts all of us. It makes it much harder for us to convince people that what we stand for is truth. The same goes for all of us. We must pray for each other that our words and actions every day truly exemplify the Lord Jesus Christ/Y'shua. We can't change what is coming, G-d's Word will be fulfilled, but we can make a difference to the people who will watch and listen, and who will be saved! For them, and for ourselves, we must make a stand for truth!
Thanks for the posts from Focus on the Family and the verses from the Catholic Bible. I will be investigating these! The blessing is beatuful!
Praying for Billy Mays and his family. Death of a loved one is a hard thing to go through.
I have also seen more and more people making the UFO connection with the demonic. As I am writing this, I am watching the travel channel talk about ghosts. They have pictures of light orbs that showed up in a prison. They only see them as ghosts, but we know they are part of the unseen battle between good and evil. Angels and demons are real and alive and well. The veil between the natural and supernatural is growing thin, apocalypse. We must pray for strength and confidence in the Lord to stand and not be afraid if and when we are confronted by this!

The Harrisburg Chapter of the NAACP is calling on Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell to suspend some civil liberties and impose martial law in the city to halt the wave of recent lawlessness.

Chapter President Stanley Lawson also called on Rendell to bring in the state National Guard for at least 30 days and to impose a curfew. In June, there have been at least 12 shootings, many of them in the daytime, including a man killed Wednesday at a busy city intersection during the lunch hour.

Member and attorney Stanley Mitchell noted the civil rights organization is asking for a short suspension of some civil rights, but added: “We have the civil rights not to be shot.”

Great timing for a Sabbatical when I need her faith in prayer strength.

Melanie has had a high spiking fever for two weeks now which shoots past 104. There was a lull inbetween for about three days when it looked to be gone-but came back.

The Dr. said if she wasn't on the mend by Sunday-to bring her in for an array of tests Monday.

Well-no change so off we'll go tomorrow. Please add her to your prayers for healing. I've been mentioning to her to pray for healing (in addition to our prayers) she always replies "I don't pray for myself." Finally tonight she did.

Mac, I'm confused. I looked at your link to Joel's site and see that he says Babylon is being rebuilt. But I remembered recently hearing someone talk about some verses in the Bible that said it wouldn't be rebuilt, so I looked them up. They're in Isaiah 13:

19And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

20It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

21But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.

22And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Sodom and Gomorrah aren't inhabited now, so how can Babylon be rebuilt and inhabited? Can you help me here?

Thanks,

Vicki

13:4 "The noise of a multitude in the mountains, Like that of many people! A tumultous noise of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! The LORD of hosts musters the army for battle.

5: They come from a far country From the end of heaven-The LORD and His weapons of indignation,to destroy the whole land.

6:Wail, for the day of the LORD is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

7-8 Therefore all hands will be limp, Evey man's heart will melt, And they will be afraid. Pangs & sorrows will take hold of them; They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth; They will be amazed at one another; Their faces will be like flames.

9)Behold, the day of the LORD comes, Cruel, with both wrath & fierce anger, To lay the land desolate; And He will destroy the sinners from it.

10)For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, And the moon will not cause its light to shine.

11) "I will punish the world for its evil..."

Vicki,

I'm sorry to have been so curt earlier, but someone was knocking at my door.

History shows that what Rev. 17-18 has never happened to Babylon. Many people think that when Persia and the Medes conquered Babylon that Babylon was destroyed, but not true. The conquerors captured the City almost without a fight, they snuck in under the wall across the River. Most of the people in Babylon didn't even know they had been conquered for 3 or 4 days. And, when Alexander the Great defeated Persia and the Medes, Alexander set up his headquarters in Babylon and later he died in Babylon. The city of Babylon was still a thriving city until the river was diverted, and Bagdad grew up around the river. But there were always a few people still living in and around Babylon.
Even up to World War I and through World War II, they were a large number of sheepherders living in and around Babylon.

If you can, read Isaiah 13-14, Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 17-18in one sitting. They are all talking about the same event.

Keep studying, the LORD will guide you.

Facing the spiritual battle

Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to pray for us. Pray first that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you. Pray, too, that we will be saved from wicked and evil people, for not everyone believes in the Lord. But the Lord is faithful; he will make you strong and guard you from the evil one.… May the Lord bring you into an ever deeper understanding of the love of God and the endurance that comes from Christ.
2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 NLT

In order to be effective on the battlefield a soldier must be both well trained and properly equipped. The warrior must be alert for surprise attacks. So it is in our spiritual battle with Satan. Determined to destroy our faith by leading us into sin and discouragement, Satan attacks with blatant temptation and deceptive lies. The Bible teaches that the best weapons for this warfare are the Word of God and prayer.

The faith of the Thessalonian believers was being tried by persecution. Undoubtedly some of them were wavering, even failing, as the surrounding evil put them to the test. This was an important time for Paul to remind them that, no matter what happened, God's faithfulness would prevail over evil and strengthen them so that they could endure.

Something to keep in mind for the month of July-from Mark Biltz.

Exciting Things for the People of Faith-Shalom, One and All!!

Remember while it gets darker for the people of the world, for us, the Scripture says:

Pr 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

We have entered the dry summer months that are beginning with the month of Tammuz on Tuesday, June 23rd.

Tammuz is a very interesting month historically. It is known as the fast of the 4th month:
Zec 8:19 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

The fast of the 5th month is known as the 9th of Av. This year it falls on Thursday July 30th. The 3 weeks between these two fast days are known as the Dire Straits for Jews because of so many horrible things that have happened.

Fortunately God is going to have miraculous things happen on these days in the future for this prophecy to be fulfilled!

On the 17th of Tammuz, Thursday, July 9th this year, was the very day that:

The daily sacrifice was stopped in the temple due to the fact there were no more sheep due to the siege by Nebuchadnezzar.

And it was on this day the walls of Jerusalem were breached by Nebuchadnezzar.

“Coincidentally” it was also the very same day the Romans breached the walls in 70 AD.

Also the same day the Lebanon war broke out a couple of years ago!

This is also the very day they worshipped the golden calf and Moses came down from the mountain and broke the 2 tablets of the 10 commandments.

Traditionally this is also the day King Manasseh, one of the worst kings in Israel, erected an idol in the Temple.

The 4th of July in 1776 just so happened to be also on the 17th of Tammuz! Also remember that July 22nd is the 1st of Av when the next total solar eclipse occurs in the middle of the Dire Straits. Last year’s total solar eclipse on that day signaled the economic judgment that fell on the world last fall at the Feast of Trumpets.

**Mark Biltz is coming to Maranatha(our church) on the 1st of Av-July 22nd. I think you can watch him live on the web or in the archives later.

Lisa, I'm glad to hear they found SOMETHING in Melanie, and that it's not just some mystery illness.

I was debating about posting this here, partly because it's VERY long (about 7000 characters, or about 1400 words -- at $0.01/word that's $14 -- I REALLY need to start getting paid for this! :-) but mostly because I didn't think it would be of interest to anyone here. But after your posting, I figured I should probably post it here, too.

It started when someone there asked if I hadn't predicted exactly what is happening in Iran now:
==============
I wish I were so prescient! I've done some looking, and as far as I can tell the closest I've come to any kind of prediction with Iran is that Ahmadinejad will need to bolster his support internally after this election. It's sapping time and strength from Iran, to the point where Iranian dissidents are writing open letters to Israel, asking them to remember Cyrus and to help the Iranians. Hez'B'allah is losing members, partly because of the loss in the Gaza action last Christmas, and partly because they promised to help rebuild all the houses in Lebanon that were destroyed during the 2nd Lebanon War, and they've done nothing. That's also a reason why they didn't do so well in the recent elections in Lebanon. We know that Hez'B'allah is still getting materials from Iran -- last week the UN forces responsible for guarding the border between Israel and Lebanon (UNIFIL: United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) found 12 ready-to-fire Katyusha rockets in Lebanon.

(This is significant for another reason: for the past few years, UNIFIL has been made up of Spanish soldiers. They're supposed to keep the Israeli and Lebanese forces separate. They kept working to keep Hez'B'allah forces out of Lebanon and Israel, and Hez'B'allah kept attacking them, injuring and sometimes killing the soldiers. Finally, the UNIFIL leaders met with Hez'B'allah and made a deal: They would give Hez'B'allah free reign if Hez'B'allah stopped attacking them. The agreement worked, and up until now UNIFIL has only been stopping Israeli soldiers who were chasing terrorists. Israel, naturally, has been complaining for years about this. The fact that UNIFIL actually got off their butts and looked for Hez'B'allah troops and materiel means that they're not as afraid of Hez'B'allah as they used to be.)

So while Iran is still supplying the terrorists in Lebanon (and now in Gaza and Egypt, too, through Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood), there aren't as many bodies available to carry out attacks, and even fewer trustworthy bodies. Too many of them remember this last December, when the Israelis "went crazy" and started fighting back. It's very easy to be brave when you know your enemy won't strike back; fighting someone who is p*ss*d off is quite a different matter.

(continued...)

jim.carroll said...

(continued from above)

In addition, Syria will be getting a new ambassador from the US in a few weeks. For years, Syria has been essentially an Iranian province: Iran is buying the military all sorts of new weapons and toys from their friends the Russians, while sending the top military minds and top university students to Tehran for free education (and also to be taught the Ayatollah Kohemani brand of Islam.) The US recalled its ambassador after Syria assassinated the prime minister of Lebanon, and there hasn't been an ambassador in Damascus since. While it's possible that most people will view this as another sign of American weakness, it's just as likely that the crazy people in Tehran will view this as an attempt by the US to woo Damascus back into the American camp (or bed, depending on your metaphors).

So let's review: President Ahmadinejad is facing pressure at home, where people are rioting in the street, saying his election was a fraud. He's got the materiel to attack Israel but is quickly running out of people to actually fight (aka "cannon fodder"); and the ones he has are beginning to see him as a weak wienie. And his best girlfriend (with benefits) now looks like she may be casting eyes at an old beau. (She's not, really, but the green-eyed monster is a dangerous pet.)

Not much he can do about the third problem, just yet, except by taking care of the first two. First, he starts executing a few of the protesters. A lot of them have already gone missing, but since they're missing, there's no point in giving them a public execution -- he'll just round up a dozen or so leaders and use them. This will calm things down by showing everyone just who is in charge of Iran. This probably happens at the same time that the rockets really start raining down on Israel from Gaza and Lebanon, and, oh and by the way, Fatah leaders are eliminated, Hamas takes over the West Bank, and the rockets start getting launched from Bethlehem as well. With this much new action, who's going to pay attention to an old story like the Iranian demonstrations? While this is happening, A-jad regains and tightens his grip in Iran, no more demonstrations, everyone is happy, yes?

On the second day of the attacks, while Israel is preparing to push into Lebanon, Gaza (again), and the West Bank, Syria uses this opportunity to reclaim the Golan Heights. So now the Israelis also have to deal with Syrian shelling military positions that are attempting to stop and capture the missile sites. A-jad now has most of what he wants: bolstered power in Iran, and shown his allies and his best girlfriend that he isn't a weak wienie. In the meantime he's priming his allies in the media for the next step: What will Israel do? How many innocent children are the Israelis willing to slaughter this time in a display of disproportionate response to this latest provocation in the Middle East? Why, when there was the possibility of peace, didn't the Israelis take that extra step and do what the Palestinians told them to do?

It is the beginning of the War of Psalm 83. While I'm not privy to when G_D has declared it will begin, I suspect that it will be on the 9th or 10th of July. The 9th is 17 Tammuz, the anniversary of when the Babylonians broke through the walls of Jerusalem and started the destruction of Israel. A-jad is just too apocalyptic to not understand the value of a symbolic date. I also suspect on or around that date because the US will be too busy dealing with the (figurative) fallout of the NoKo missile test. No one knows just when the test will occur. I think that since everyone is expecting it on the 4th, that they may wait until the 6th. That would give the US media a chance to call everyone Nervous Nellies for believing in the Korean bogyman. After a missile is successfully launched, there will be some, and probably a lot, of questions in Congress about Obama's military preparedness, particularly in light of his NOT stopping that cargo ship bound for Myamar. In short, the Obama administration, which appears to have the attention span of a hyperactive chihuahua, won't be able to deal with things that Just Aren't Going My Way, and so won't be able to deal with Israel when he's trying to keep a lid on Congress.

So, that's what's been running around in my mind this sunny afternoon. I pray to G_D it doesn't happen.

Hi guys...Jenny here....
I just got done listening to a 6 part video series off of YouTube entitled "Fruitcake and Ice Cream".

It is so worth watching. Each segment is @9-10 min. I'm not familiar with this particular pastor but he is right on in this sermon series. Stay with him through the first part and it is well worth it to the last. It is real life(about part 4)testimony of a college girl and reminds us about how short our time is... to do our Father's work...be about His business. Oh what a wonderful business it is too! I hope this series gets you fired up, encourages you to share. What if your the one the Father places in the right place at the right time for that life changing event...you may only be the ripple , like Louie was, the seed planter-like the mother or the waterer-like the brother.....but she sure needed all of them to get

the complete picture of Christ.

You see to me, one of the ways I see Christ is through the BEAUTY IN THE DETAILS. It raises the goosebumps everytime because no man(or woman) could ever pull it off like that. It is a story about Grace....the kind of Grace that can only come from the Father:) You'll see the beauty of the details in parts 4,5 and 6.

Sorry if someone has already recommended this. Let me know what you think.

If interested, go to YouTube and type in "Fruitcake and ice cream" in the subject box.....get a tissue girls.

Fighting the good fight,

Lisa, great article by Benji Carey-Smith. Long, but worth the time. I'm still "on the fence" about the timing of the rapture, though.

Jim C,

Do you know how to track down a person from their website link?

LA Marzulli has a situation where he found an ‘article’ plagiarized right from one of his books and this person took one of his fictitious characters and has lied and stated that he is real & conspiring w/the American Govt.

Anyway, he fumed & wants to confront this person.

campsmore said...

I found the site, I will use the url so you can send him the info:

http://www.great-deception.com/hitler-area-51-roswell.html

he claims:
Website - Domain & Sub Domain contents are all - Copyright 2009-2019 - R.W. Benjamin - All Rights Reserved

HIs name is: Robert W Benjamin

He has a Gmail blog: http://www.rb59.com/prophecy-news/
and links that article off of that blog. Google is the one he should contact, since Robert is plagairizing from his blog.

More info on RW Benjamin
his location is:
Towanda, Pennsylvania, I think he's a realtor?

And found another blog of his:

If he plagiarized LA Marzulli, he most likely has plagiarized other authors as well.

Is that enough information?

jim.carroll said...

Lisa,

Easiest way is to use WHOIS. He would go to this site and enter the domain name he wants to look for, i.e., BLOGGER.COM, instead of WWW.BLOGGER.COM or HTTP://WWW.BLOGGER.COM.

This will give you the information on who owns that domain. It's a point of contact. For example, here is the WHOIS info on www.littledee.net (really nice web comic strip -- highly recommended, esp. if you knit):

Registrant:
moodycowpublishing
500 Eastside St NE #14
Olympia, WA 98506
US

Registrar: DOTSTER
Domain Name: LITTLEDEE.NET
Created on: 10-OCT-02
Expires on: 11-OCT-09
Last Updated on: 26-SEP-07

Administrative, Technical Contact:
Baldwin, Christopher talktome@baldwinpage.com
moodycowpublishing
500 Eastside St NE #14
Olympia, WA 98506
US
360-705-2742

Domain servers in listed order:
NS.BIZFU.COM
NS2.BIZFU.COM

End of Whois Information

In this case, it would be fairly easy to contact Chrisopher Baldwin (IF that's his real name!) If he's using something like Gmail, though, there's no way to drill down to an individual account. After this, Marzulli would probably have to go through his lawyers to write threatening letters to the ISP to release the account information. Just getting a letter like that might be enough for the ISP to freeze that user's account, even if they don't give you the account information.

Hope this helps.

Note from Uncle Bob;

Dear Friends and Family,
I received an astounding e-mail from a friend of mine, Sandra Joy, who I know to be well grounded and level headed. The e-mail below speaks for itself.
In Christ's love, Bob

As you know, Gail and I are strong, Bible-believing Christians. The Bible teaches in Revelations that when the trumpet sounds, end time events proceed rapidly.

I have an exciting story to share. This happened to my sister Gail’s sister-in-law, Pud’s friend in Florida. The friend is a bus driver. She was taking the bus back to the garage last Thurs (June 25, 2009) when she saw an old man standing beside the road. God told her to pick him up, but she wasn’t sure it was God, and that is against regulations so she drove past him. God strongly told her to drive around the block and to pick him up, so she did. When he got on the bus, he kind of freaked her out because he didn’t take a seat, but stood behind her. He said, God told me to tell you that Gabriel’s lips are on the trumpet. She turned to look at him, and he was gone. She was pretty shook up (she is a strong Christian, but even so . . .) and it caused her to drive erratically. A policeman stopped her. She said, Oh, Officer. I am not drunk and I don’t do drugs! I just had an unbelievable experience, and it really got to me. She proceeded to tell the policeman her story. His response was unbelievable. He said, Lady, that’s the third time I have heard this same story.

Thanks Lori & Jim!

That was great info & I passed it all onto him. It's quite handy to know "how" to do these things if needed.

That would sure make me fumed to have some nut plagiarize my work.

Anne said...

Lori, I don't know what to make of the email to Uncle Bob. At first I had a rush of excitement, but then I googled "Gabriel's lips are on the trumpet". Several sites popped up with people writing in very similar stories, including one from New Zealand. However, the sceptics pointed out that these stories have been going around for as long as decades, including one person who claims they date back to the 1800's (wagon hitchhikers?). While I don't doubt your uncle one tiny bit I'm perplexed.

Late Night Lisa said...

Lori-Thanks for sharing that.

Gabriel's lips are on the Trumpet! WAHHHHHHAAAAHHHH......

Ok-I will remain composed.

I bet that wouldn't suprise any of us here!

Late Night Lisa said...

Anne,

I took a look at some of those Google links. Well, this is quite interesting.

I never brought this up & don't know if it's related or not. About 3 months ago I was picking up some horse medicine out in the County along a rural highway when I saw a lady hitch hiking along the road with blond wavy hair & in a flowing white top/skirt w/lace detail. She had a tan & looked to be in her 40's.

First of all this lady is female & these reports seem to be all male. But the reason why I bring it up is because at the time the scene was so odd & I had a strange feeling in my spirit. Not an urge to pick her up or fear of her. Rather I just thought about asking her what her deal was & knew that she was not of this world. I had the kids with me so no way was I going to expose them to this - whoever she was.

I know-it's weird. There have also been a few other times I've driven past another car & when I looked @ the driver & made eye contact I felt as if I knew an evil presence
was there.

So it's just plain strange & I chalk it up to my list of Hummmm's.

Share International the "Maitreya watchers" are tracking this phenomenon-as their messiah figure also "appears" in such a way. Interesting to note that they say this particular incident only occurs with "Christians."

Prophecy Of Coming Storm May Relate To Prediction Of Gabriel And His Trumpet

Well-this is good to be aware of anyway.

Wow! You all really move! Lisa, I am glad you found out what was wrong with your daughter! I trust she is feeling better now. All of you are posting so much good information, it will take awhile to digest it all! I had heard the stories of the hitchhiker, but all I had ever heard he said was that Jesus is coming soon. That Gabriel's lips are on the trumpet! Wow! That sends chills up my back....good ones! Yes! I hope they are right! I sure don't want to be here for the rest of the tribulation years!

Reminds me of a skit I saw YEARS ago with Bill Cosby and Dick Van Dyke, with Dick playing Gabriel. He had come to Bill's apartment to blow his trumpet, and Bill has to argue for one more chance. Gabriel raises the trumpet to his lips, blows, and no sound comes out. Yaah! Humanity gets one more chance!

As Bill hustles Gabriel out of the apartment, Gabriel stops and says, "You know, I came here once before to blow the trump. And I couldn't blow it now. That's two no trump."

I heard a man named John McTernand interviewed on the radio today. He's the author of a book called As America Has Done To Israel (October 2008). I hadn't heard of him or his book before. Perhaps he's been mentioned here at the cave in the past and I just don't recall. Anyway, the thesis of his book is that everytime the United States has done something negative to Israel, we've experienced some sort of calamaty or disaster.

Check out his blog.
John McTernan's Insights.

Is anyone here familiar with him?

Jim G. said...

Oops. Typo in that first sentence.
His name is John McTernan.

Jim G. said...

I just clicked on a link regarding the purpose of his blog. This is just the first paragraph.

The purpose of this blog is to keep the reader up to date with current information and events that are related to the Bible. The focus is on Israel and the United States, but all other relevant information will be reported, to show the reader the desperate, yet exciting, time we live in. Bible prophecy is coming alive right before our very eyes. The information is to ground us in God; to cause us to live holy; to be anchored in the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus: and to show the awesome authority of the Bible as the very
word of God.

The purpose statement sure sounds good to me!!!
