7 Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard.
8 At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
9 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.
10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.

What? Could it be that I'm first? I always want to say something profound when I have this opportunity because we all see the first post over and over again. But, I can't think of anything!
Thanks, Jim and Jib, for the advice. For some time my DH has wanted me to just get an Apple, but I don't want to spend the money right now.
Jib, I have to confess: When reading your last message about Thunderbird (which I use), I was a bit confused when you made the comment that "Mac and Alesia are getting pummeled."
"Mac" I could figure out, but was "Alesia" a new email client for the Mac? And what was going on that hackers were trying to break that particular program?
<><
Just wondering if they have a hyde e-mail program.
BTW, I use both Outlook and Thunderbird.
Jim,
you funny!
JIB, I understood perfectly and it might be due to the fact that it is nearly noon and I function best after 11 a.m.
Snow, snow, and more snow. We did not receive any of the ice at our abode but the sun is now shining brightly so the snow will probably be gone by the days end. No, it was not pretty! It is cold and nothing like what all of you living north of Oklahoma and Arkansas are experiencing. But for us, it is dern cold. Our kitty wouldn't even go outside to do her business all day yesterday and stayed in until 4:30 a.m. today. I felt so sorry for her and I know she was miserable. Needless to say, it didn't take her long to get back to the foot stool in the warm front room.
Jim normally leaves an opening in the garage window so she can sleep in her lux bed on top of the van. Then she can go in and out when ever the urge hits her. Well, we found two additional felines in the garage and DJH just didn't have the heart to shoo them out. Mean ole Grany did the job without any hesitation. I did call the people that the cats belonged to and told them their need to let the pets back in. One of the advantages of getting old. People understand that you love animals and have great empathy for their welfare.
Hope you are all safe, wearing extra clothing where it is colder than a well diggers ....... and if you are living in the warm climes, keep still. Jealousy is ugly.
I have a link FOR YOU ALL ABOUT THE IE PROBLEM and this site is a trusted one for me. Info Pockets is tech designed but with all of us in mind. Anne, I really like Chrome but like others, I miss some of the apps that can be added to Firefox. Like my Bookmarks and Chrome hasn't shown me yet how to add more sites.
Anyway, I left IE a long time ago, about the first opportunity with Firefox back in the days we were still with SBC Global as our internet provider.
Billye Brim's blog has a new update about the dispute in Egypt and her take on who and what is driving the whole mess. You all know by this time that the Muslim Brotherhood will begin to attempt a take over and according to Debkafile, the man they are trying to get into the position of president (or whatever) is definitely pro MB. Not a fierce type so far but his loyalty is definitely to see the demise of Israel.

Stealing a line from Jack Kelley,
"I can almost hear the footsteps of our Lord" and I know it won't be long. Are the dominoes all lined up yet or is there one or two still waiting in the shadows?
This article by Bill Salus disturbs me: "I Will Set Egyptians Against Egyptians". It's the second article I've read in the past week that says Egypt will take part in the War of Psalm 83. I've read a couple of different translations of Psalm 83 and not one of them mentions Egypt. The closest the text comes is to mention two tribes, one that is believed to have lived in present Saudi Arabia, and the other on the southern portion of the Sinai Peninsula, which is controlled by Egypt. It's also where purportedly the Muslim Brotherhood has training camps. He also says that "we read in Isaiah 19:16-18 that Israel will take over five cities in Egypt and cause Hebrew to be the spoken language inside their city limits." That is not the case. All the text says is that there will be 5 cities that have Hebrew-speakers. This was fulfilled beginning in about 200AD when Jewish colonies were formed in Egypt, including the group in Alexandria, which was responsible for translating the Septuagint texts.
Anyway, I've linked it here just for your consideration.

25 degrees in San Antonio, Texas, and snow predicted for Thursday night/Friday. If it does it will be the first snow I've seen since 1985!
And while it will shut the city down, at least here it won't last very long. burr.. (at least for us).

ha ha ha! sorry about that.
The main reason that apostasy is spreading so quickly among evangelicals today is that many are functionally biblically illiterate. This means that although nearly all "Christians" have Bibles and are able to read, too few do read them, and those who do don't make it a practice that guides their lives
Mr. Hyde, you wrote:

Funny you should ask...
Hyde is a small software application that is used to hide your desktop and desktop icons, giving you a clutter-free work environment,...

Just ran across this...
Let me get this straight . . . .
We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't,
Which purportedly covers at least
ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,
written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it,
and signed by a President who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes,
for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect,
by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,
all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,
and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!
'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'
Muslim Brotherhood wants end to Egypt-Israeli peace deal (Russian media)
Egypt's banned Muslim Brotherhood movement has unveiled its plans to scrap a peace treaty with Israel if it comes to power, a deputy leader said in an interview with NHK TV.
Rashad al-Bayoumi said the peace treaty with Israel will be abolished after a provisional government is formed by the movement and other Egypt's opposition parties.
"After President Mubarak steps down and a provisional government is formed, there is a need to dissolve the peace treaty with Israel," al-Bayoumi said.

although I do no watch Glenn Beck very regularly anymore Joel R posted yesterday he is going to be on Beck's TV show today for the whole hour talking about the doings in the ME
Jib, I haven't been watching Glen Beck lately either, partly because I have to watch online which isn't as easy as it should be. But I think I'll definitely try and catch tonight's show.
<><
Thanks for the heads up re Joel on Beck, Jib.
Anne, I found your post in the spam folder and released it.
#$%$^& darn spam filter!
Well, according to some
"Christians" we could always join "Chrislam". What a bunch of pandering imbeciles.
Gorge Soros -Why Obama has to get Egypt right... The main stumbling block is Israel.
In reality, Israel has as much to gain from the spread of democracy in the Middle East as the United States has. But Israel is unlikely to recognize its own best interests because the change is too sudden and carries too many risks.
And some U.S. supporters of Israel are more rigid and ideological than Israelis themselves.
Fortunately, Obama is not beholden to the religious right, which has carried on a veritable vendetta against him. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is no longer monolithic or the sole representative of the Jewish community. The main danger is that the Obama administration will not adjust its policies quickly enough to the suddenly changed reality....
What Soros thinks, says and believes doesn't change my life one little bit. He deserves to live in Russia or Siberia for the rest of his life and then he can come back and tell us all what a fool he was by condemning the USA and Israel. But as I said, what he thinks doesn't make a smidge of difference to me.
I am not a citizen of this world, I am just passing through on my way to Abba's Mansion and golden streets. I have to get through that huge Pearl Gate first but Jesus is my passport and fear isn't one of my character flaws.
I think both George and Obie need a taste of life on the other side of the world.
Those footsteps are sounding louder!
BTW, anyone hear from ATTY and Harold at all?
When NOT to watch TV!
Hello all! I found this on Christian Research Network just now:
"Oprah’s “favorite doctor” who is also on Rick Warren’s “Daniel Plan” team of doctors will lead mass hypnosis on TV"
Scary stuff! Dr. Oz says they're going to "hynotize America."
Vicki
(Michigander)
Mac, just read your article at The Omega Letter. Thanks so much for sharing your testimony.
And, Hyde thanks for rescuing my post from the spam folder. I never did like that canned pretend meat stuff.
I sure do wish ATTY would post, and Harold, too. Vicky, good to see you.
Good seeing Vicki again and I have been wondering about how you are doing.
Mr. Hyde, I have a big boot here that belongs to my DJH and I would gladly loan it to you so you could dispatch Georgie and Obie to the other side of the world, forthwith.
With all of our snow now on the ground and still falling (over 24 hours of snowing off and on)it is hard to hear anyone's footsteps but I know we WILL ALL HEAR THE SHOUT! Never can tell, it might be in the morning and if it is, I have a whole bunch of Oatmeal/raisin and Chocolate Chip cookies in the big jar on the counter and also some in the frig. They are made with Splenda but you would never know it. They taste really good. Also, all kinds of wonderful beef, veggies, sea food and lots of other goodies you can survive on while you wait for what ever event to happen. If you aren't saved, then you will definitely need to make your way to our house.
That will require you to do some archive digging here at the Cave but it will be worth your time.
See you all later. This snow is making me very sleepy but it is very pretty outside and warm inside.
Grany
Great article, Mac! I'm so thankful that you shared the details because I think alot of people roll their eyes or shrug off the danger of such activities since it's always billed as a child's game and therefore harmless.
Along those lines, I'd love to have prayers for my cousin Jess who is very involved in the yoga scene. She has become an instructor and has her own studio and the crowd/clients she hangs with aren't pursuing God and she's becoming very influenced by their world views. Personally, I think she IS seeking peace and something solid to hang on to. She grew up in a home with a very hostile/unpredictable mom (my aunt) and I think the damage done there turned her away from faith and to other avenues of finding peace and a quiet/happy way of life. But I'm confident that God is also pursuing her and she'll have a moment as well when she has to choose the way forward. I'm believing that she'll end up in His arms eventually :-)
In other news, I had my 18 month post-radiation report today and everything looks clear and clean! So excited to have another testimony to share with others about God's goodness and faithfulness. Just last week I was able to encourage a friend of a friend who is having thyroid trouble. If I hadn't been through my own journey and come through it with the Lord making the way forward, I wouldn't be able to share with her and encourage her in the Word. I love the fact that God takes all things and uses them for furthering His kingdom! He's the ultimate multi-tasker and repurposer!
OK, gotta get to bed. More snow on the way and DH has to be out the door at 7AM for a Men's Breakfast at church, so I might be shoveling before coffee in the morning :-( The speaker at our church's event tomorrow is Michael Franceze. If you get a chance, look up his website. You'll be amazed at his past and present. His testimony last week in church was amazing! (Think "godfather' now "God is my father"...)
Nite all!
Blessings,
Jen
Thank you for the kind comments.
Praying for Jess.
Jen,
Praise God on your clean report! Praying for Jess too.
Where is that article of Mac's, I must have missed it.
Crazy how much snow has covered so many parts of the U.S.! Here in East Central Illinois we have had lots of ice, so tired of it. My daughters spent 3 hours chipping the ice off of the drive way the other day so we could get the van out. They all missed three days of school. Makes me wonder what spring and summer will bring.
I must admit that I envision different plans and dreams for this baby I am carrying than I did for my other 4. I definitely no longer see the way most of us American have when it comes to raising children; grow up safe and well fed in the middle of a safe country, get good grades, learn about Jesus from parents and church, get teenage job, go to college, get married, have babies, buy home, live out years happy and secure. It is sooo much more about Jesus and his kingdom now to me.
Diana
Found Mac's article. Great article, glad I read it. Puts things into perspective for me because I do have my worries about my teenagers especially right now. i must say that they are very well watched over by us, I always know where they are and such but something came up the other day as I was looking for something in my 14 year old daughter;s desk. A list of "secrets" was discovered and I am so sad by most of them on this list. One is that she has seen moderate porn! I know how this can stick in one's mind and become a huge snowball of sin, just like that path with NA. I have been praying about how to address it. I have no idea where she could have seen it, I checked the computer and have found nothing. She goes to only two friends houses and no where else. The Lord has been reminding me through my prayers and tears that He looses no one out of his hand whom the father has given him. My daughter is so much like me and her list of secrets could have been mine at her age, only mine had worse ones on it. Please pray for her and me as I address this very delicate matter (after all I was reading private material of hers that I am sure the Lord led me to)She has always had such a tender and sweet spirit in tune with other peoples feelings and clearing the Lord's hand is working here to help her.
Anyway, thanks for the article Mac, it has helped me alot.
Diana
Hyde, here's a heads up: I'm replying to Diana and the reply has a lot of links, so it's probably going to wind up in the Spam folder.
<><
Diana, you'll have to post a link to Mac's article.
As for your daughter, let me refer you to some resources. (Hey, I'm Catholic. Everyone knows that all Catholics think about is sex, since we all know it's bad.)
Let me just say that I wish I had some of these resources when I was 14. However, most of them couldn't even have been written before the papacy of John Paul 2. Being Eastern European, he had a VERY different view about sexuality compared to the Irish and German views. His "Theology of the Body" is a must-read for couples about to get married. It's the basis for Catholic sexuality courses that many parishes have in their teen-aged religious classes. The above link is to "Theology of the Body for Beginners - Revised Edition", which explains the encyclical using language for people who don't have PhDs in Theology.
You can find "Theology of Her Body" in the Chastity section of Catholic Answers Shop. The Chastity section also has a selection of booklets and tracts. You could also start her out with a booklet called "Pure Love", which was written by a guy who does seminars with teenagers on chastity. If you want to get a couple of families on the same page of the hymnal, try the Chastity Tract Sampler Pack.
Another resource you might find useful is the web site Chastity.com, whose subtitle is "When you decide firmly to lead a clean life".
And I have to share something with you all that is embarrassing but still (I think) very amusing. When I was 15, my older brothers and sisters chipped in to buy Dad a subscription to Playboy for Christmas, telling him that, as a General Practitioner M.D. he got to see a lot of people naked who you never really wanted to see naked. Dad took the gift in the spirit in which it was given; and every month he'd get the magazine, read the articles (seriously -- he once told me that at his age he'd seen enough naked people in his practice and he didn't want to see any more when he was at home), and toss it in the trash.
About 6 months after the subscription started, I was cleaning up after dinner with just Mom and Dad, talking about strange birthday gifts we'd gotten (Mom's birthday was coming up) and the Playboy subscription came up. I clearly remember Mom turning to me and asking, "Well, Jim, YOU don't look at the pictures, do you?" Before I could say anything, my Dad said, "Dear, he's 15 years old. Of course he's looked at the pictures!" At that moment I had three simultaneous and conflicting emotions: thankful, that I didn't have to lie to my mom; gratitude, that Dad understood; and slightly offended and indignant that Dad should have so little faith in me!
<><
JIM
Did you look?
Grany
Thanks Jim for all of the links and info, I really appreciate it.
That story is too funny!!
We were watching a movie about boys the other night. They were all in 5th grade and the story line included some references to "those magazines". Argh, my boys will be older someday then they will turn into men! That is difficult on us mom!!
Diana
Thank you, Anne and Grany! I'm doing good, though being a Michigander, I'm up to my knees in the white stuff. Went snow shoeing for the second time today...it was so deep, we didn't get very far! I feel really sorry for the little animals who try to venture out in it!
Vicki
Either he's to humble to post the link himself or he is simply "hyde"ing out with Alesia somewhere. So, I'll post the link;-)
My Deliverance from the New Age
With apologies to all of my English teachers. That should have read: "...too humble..."
Diana, I know. And just when those boys grow into someone you'd actually like to keep around, some girl comes along and sweeps them off their feet, taking them away from you!
<><
Nooooo Jim!! I hate to think about a GIRL coming around to take away my boys! This is wayyy to hard for moms. I know it is the Lord's plan but man, does it ache. :)
Alesia and I attended a House and Garden expo so I missed the link request.
I don't like being under the spotlight but I was asked to do an article with a New Age focus, given that some new OL members had been involved in it.
I know that I didn't give the moment justice in the article. One day the Lord will tell me just how much chasing He had to do to reel me in.
HYDIE HO,
He only saw your heart and he liked what he found. All of us have a new heart because of His great love for us but just think what this world will be like when "that which is holding back is removed". Now that makes me really get sick and I mean heart, mind and soul sick.
To remove the love of God from the face of the earth and turn it over to evil/fear/hate/malice/judgement is more than I can tolerate today. Why would anyone chose to be evil? But we have many Believers who practice, and have fine tuned, the Fear Factor to a degree that has almost sucked the Joy of God right out of existence.
Back a few years ago when I was going through some really rough times with DJH, the Holy Spirit revealed something very important to me. I had been reading a book by Kenneth E. Hagin about the Name of Jesus and the more I read it, the worst my situation became. To the point that I was being counseled to get out of the house pronto. It had evolved into abuse by the man that is the love of my life. The counseling was not my doing but all of those who knew the situation were fearful for my life.
I decided to relax and try to rest while DJH was out and about. Most generally this meant 3 or 4 hours away and I wasn't getting very much sleep. As I started to relax and almost asleep I heard so very clear inside of me, "Jesus paid a very dear price for your Joy Wilma. Do NOT let anyone or anything rob you of that Joy!" It was more than just a suggestion or a matter of fact sort of voice. It was a command and I became completely awake then and there. I have never forgotten it and with that command there became an awareness that no one has the right to steal God's Joy from any one. The only power anyone has over any of us, is what we give them. If we don't give them the authority or power over us, they are powerless to do so. It is important to remember that.
We are physical beings while still being spiritual and the Spiritual world is far more powerful than anything any of us have ever experienced. Remember Gideon and the Angel of the Lord telling him he was a man of valor when he was so scared he was in hiding. Don't forget, Jesus won the victory over evil and evil doers and we were commissioned by Him to hold the Fort until He returns.
Soap box now back in the closet.
Gotta go admire our snow and yes, we are getting rain now but it is supposed to snow later today. There must be a very good reason for all of the snow coming over most of this nation. At least it isn't the floods and terrible storms that Oz and New Zealand are getting.
From World Net Daily:
Has Revelation's 'pale rider' shown up in Egypt?
A mysterious, pale green figure seen in televised news coverage of the Egyptian riots has prompted some viewers to ask, "Could this be the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse?"
<><
Grany, I must say, I love your soap box comments! I especially appreciated the last one, thanks!
Mac, you said what you were suppose to say in your article and it is a blessing to many. I am glad to have read it for it spoke to my heart. Thank you
Diana
Hi all!
Thanks so much for the kind words about Mac's article!
Ya know, he does a weekly article for the Omega Letter that usually comes out Friday morning.
Have a Blessed day everyone.
Hey everyone, the snow in Okieland is almost gone and the sun, right now, is shining so bright that my kitchen is revealing every little speck of smudge, dust and calling me to get to work. When the sun comes out here in our section of the country, the snow hightails it into a puddle.
Now that the 24 hour weather report is posted, I have to get to work.
Love you all and stay safe, Joyful and praising the Lord with all of your heart, mind and soul. But don't forget, Love the Lord God and you neighbor as yourself the same way.
Grany
I really need to ask your prayers for my daughters and my ex. I just found out that my ex had the police remove my middle daughter from the house two nights ago. My daughter is staying at a women's shelter for the next few days until things cool down.
<><
Will be praying, Jim.
Jim,
Praying for them!!
Diana
Praying for all, Jim.
also praying for you Jim
JIM C.
Joining with the others in prayers for your daughter and her mother. You also.
Praying, Jim.
Egypt nears military coup. USS warships in Suez Canal Debkafile says. People, I am getting a little squeamish right about now and it isn't a really good feeling.
In case no one is paying attention, and I know you all are watching closely, Hillary just proved she is not a Foreign Affairs expert and BooHoo just reconfirmed he isn't even a good Community Organizer.
Years ago, back in the 1950's, a man who was a trusted man of God, made a startling comment during a huge tent revival. He said that he had been studying God's word and discovered that during the very last days of the Church Age, all of the earthly governments would fail the people, this would cause chaos and because of this great fear would fill the land. Not just America but the whole world.
I have to ask; do any of you have that gut wrenching dread that we are just beginning to see this very event come about?
Please tell me it isn't so!
Grany
Praying, too, Jim.
Sounds like your ex may be a bit hot headed.
Grany, I say if things are really kicking in now, Praise God1
Not that I want anything terrible to happen to anyone. BUT if it means that His kingdom is coming, BRING IT ON!!
it also means there are going to be an awful lot of people going through hell on earth and they absolutely do not know it is coming.
We can celebrate when we hear the shout but in the meantime, get ready for the questions that will be coming at you hot and heavy. How many of you know how to share the road to salvation with the unsaved person?
If any of you are planing on traveling the interstate highway system heading west or south to the southern plains, be sure to check with your weather sites before you start out. We are being warned of 11 to 12 inches of snow starting in the early morning hours here and lasting all day tomorrow. DJH and I have poured over the weather maps and they are very threatening.
Be safe, stay prayed up and listen for the Shout.
Grany
Yes, there will be hell on earth...
but then He will make all things new.
Now that is the time I am looking forward to!
Grany,
Yes, it really seems to be happening like you said in your last post. I even read at politico.com (linked from another blog) that most of the US ambassadors are being brought back to U.S. for some sort of "conference". Seems fishy. Here is the info for the blog I found it on.
http://modernsurvivalblog.com/
Hell on earth, yes. I am feeling more urgency. Been praying more and just today had a conversation on facebook with a former Mormon about turning to Jesus, praying for her. She is confused. I am so thankful for this technology at times!!
Diana
DIANA,
That site is very interesting and I just spent the last hour and a half reading on it. Thank you for sharing.
We are now completely blanketed in white snow that is covering everything and making it look like a bunch of white lumps and bumps. It slacked off for about 30 minutes and now it is back at it heavy. No ICE though and for that I am very thankful. The interstate highway is very quiet and if this is like the last snow, I pray my friend Linda stayed home for the big show instead of driving to work in Ft. Smith.
The place I would love to go visit right now is the Robert Kerr Navigation System which is very close by. It is also one of the busiest dams on the Arkansas River. But when you can see all of the snow, trees and then the river so undisturbed flowing right along it really makes me feel secure. I know that the Seas and Oceans in the scriptures refers to the Gentile world but the river is often referred to as the River of Life and when this scene is set against the pure white of snow, it reminds me of my Abba.
Everyone have a great day and MAC, are you getting used to the snow by this time? I so sincerely hope so.
Still praying Jim.
Grany
Donna, thanks. I don't think my ex is being a hot-head, though, at least not this time. My ex and our three daughters are going through an enormous amount of stress. My ex has medical problems that prohibit her from working in most non-professional jobs, so she does contract web design from home -- it helps, but rarely enough to pay the bills. Since my unemployment benefits ran out, there's been no regular money coming in (and frankly, I am so far behind on my child support that I'm really praying I win Publisher's Clearinghouse at the end of the month, because that will be the only way I'll be able to pay back what I owe); and to top it off, her second husband (ex-husband) has told them he's planning on selling the house in August, and they have absolutely no idea where they will live or what will happen.
Add to that my middle daughter is really, really angry at both me and her mother for reasons I won't go into now. I last spoke with her about a month ago, when she told me in no uncertain terms that I was not to contact her until I had a job. Based on that, I can see her being angry enough that my ex would have to have her taken from the house. (She is over 18, after all.) She spent a few nights in the local Women's shelter; now we'll see how she (and according to my ex, my other daughters as well) act towards each other.

Latest joke going around Israel:
Do NOT destroy the pyramids because we are NOT rebuilding them!
The Temple Institute in Jerusalem publishes blueprints for Third Temple.
This is NOT a good thing. The blueprints aren't for the full temple, but are for the "Chamber of Hewn Stone", a magnificent structure where the Sanhedrin deliberated affairs of state and conducted important trials.
The last time the place was used was to judge Jesus Christ. The earthquake the next day (when Jesus died) leveled it and it has not been used up to this very day
National Israel, spiritually blinded, and the author of this link do not get it.

There is something wrong with my legs. I am 19 weeks pregnant and my hips hurt so bad. Some evenings I can't even walk around the house. LAst night I was in tears and could not move off of the bed and they just ached on and on, especially the left one. I want to do my house work and such but hurt so bad just from normal daily stuff. Very frustrated as I used to work as a nurse assistant in a nursing home, which requires alot of strength. Also alot of upper arm weakness where I hurt and have to rest even after putting on my makeup or carrying a plate with food on it. Don't know if they are related. Please pray for me!!
Thanks
Diana
Oh, this is my 5th pregnancy so I am quite used to all of the aches and pains. This feels so abnormal and hurts so much. i am just not used to dealing with daily pain!!
Diana,
Praying for your healing and the safety of you and your baby. Have you checked with your doctor yet?
How far along are you?
Grany
Hey Grany,
Thanks. I am 19 weeks along. I told her about my arms and that I had seen a neurologist right before I got pregnant. But now I can't get the MRI he suggested. She does not like that particular doctor and has another one in mind for me but only if things get worse, she said. I see her in a few weeks and will discuss the leg stuff. My original doc had suspected polymyositis but neuro disagreed. It has been put on hold but if I can't walk, well that can be a problem!
Please pray for baby, I can deal with pain I just want healthy baby!
Diana
Grany
reminding you that according to frucht the 4th beast has 7 phases and I seem to recal we are in phase 4. next is a one world government which then splinters into the 10 kings. I would wonder.
Diana
talk to your Ob. also ask he or she if they know of a good chiropracter who will work on a pregnant patient (not all of them will). ir may or may not help.
Jim C
sounds like your daughter has some issues-it isn't exactly your fault you don't have a job though. any chance of getting a job in retail? any casinos around where you live. I know the tribes around here are always hiring and they generally have great benefits
Jim-yes, it sure does sound like there is a lot of stress on everyone. I am so sorry that all of this is going on.
The only thing I know is what you already know....that He is in control of all things, even when it does not seem so.
The only thing we can do is trust Him for all things. Have Him take full control of our lives; yield to Him and not grieve the Holy Spirit.
Offer ourselves up as a living sacrifice for Him to use, in His time and in His way.
And to not give up.
"trust in the Lord with all of your heart, but do not rely on your own insight. In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3: 5&6.
You will all be in my prayers...as you will be, too, Diana, and everyone else here.
Jen, we give thanks to Him for your good news regarding your health!
Thank you, God, in Jesus' name, amen!
JIB,
I forgot about what Dr. Frucht had said about the 4th beast. I think I did that because I just did not want to believe he was right. I think I will go dig it up and study it out with him. Thanks for reminding me of it.
But there is something really big that seems to be bothering me and I don't have a clue what it is. Everytime I start to get into really the kind of scripture study that I truly do like, I get this really sick feeling all over me and a horrible dread. I have prayed about it, in fact, quite a long time. However, it isn't getting any better and when the news broke about Egypt, I just about lost my control. The tears would not stop and again, I felt physically ill.
I am not a wimp when it comes to God's word and when I find something that really convicts me, I don't run away from what the Lord is trying to bring me to. But this is totally different.
I can put just the very basics to it but what is going on inside of me is only this: "there is something very major that has been misinterpreted". What? About who? It just isn't very clear and it seems that it is all because of misguided translation of a passage.
So, my prayer is simple. "Abba, teach me, guide by your Holy Spirit and make the correction that can only come from you and your anointing."
Diana, I will be praying for your healing but in the meantime, be very careful and don't take chances with your physical body routine.
Joining you in prayer, Grany!!
Grany,
I am sorry for your struggle lately. It sounds disconcerting. I simply struggle with reading and praying because I fall asleep so easily! Thanks for your prayers, I will take it more easy! One of the reasons that I believe the Lord has not allowed me to gain any kind of employment. Although my DH does not see it that way.
Jim,
So sorry to hear of your troubles with your family. We all know how hard you have tried to get a job too.
Will be in prayer for all of you dear ones here!!
Diana
Jib, the nearest casino is about 50 miles away, so that's not an option. And all the retail positions around here have been taken up by college students.
Grany, I know what you mean about Egypt. What I can see is that after Egypt declines to join in the War of Psalm 83, the survivors will blame Egypt for their loss: "If only you had sent your men, your planes, your tanks, we would have defeated the Little Satan!" That will be the REAL fulfillment of Is. 19:2. The part in there about "kingdom against kingdom" would be fulfilled because the Muslim Brotherhood as well as Hamas and Hezbollah would all use their Egyptian members to come into Egypt and start a civil war.
In the end, though, through the examples of the Christians in Egypt, Egypt will become Christian:
The LORD shall make himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day; they shall offer sacrifices and oblations, and fulfill the vows they make to the LORD. Although the LORD shall smite Egypt severely, he shall heal them; they shall turn to the LORD and he shall be won over and heal them. (Is. 19:21-22)

I look at it like childbirth. Few people really want to go through it, and it can be scary to think about.
But at the right time, it must take place.
And after all the work and hassle, at the end you get a prize.
I meant to include one reason why I think things are going to get very bad in Egypt very soon. It has to do with Catholic stuff, so please bear with me.
Do a search on YouTube for "Zeitun". Zeitun is a suburb of Cairo where tradition holds the Holy Family stayed when they fled from Herod into Egypt. In 1968 two mechanics saw what they though was a nun preparing to throw herself off the top of the Coptic Orthodox church in Zeitun. What it was instead was a glowing figure that all the Christians immediately recognized as Mary. The apparitions continued frequently for two years, then only occasionally for another two years, and were witnessed by over 500,000 people, including the president of Egypt. The laws against teaching Christianity had to be relaxed because that was the only way Christians could explain to the Muslims what was happening. YouTube has several videos that show both the photographs and films taken of the apparition.
I'm mentioning this because Zeitun was only the first of a number of apparitions of Mary that took place in Egypt. The Zeitun apparitions stopped about a year before the Yom Kippur war, where between 5,000 and 15,000 Egyptian soldiers died, most of them in the desert while running from the Israelis. Likewise, the other Egyptian Marian apparitions all occurred about a year before some disaster in Egypt causing loss of life. The last set of apparitions occurred in December of 2009 in a suburb of Cairo called Warraq.

I really think it is the unknown factor that is causing the problem. One of the reasons that I think so highly of Dr. Frucht. He sees things according to how Hebrew/Jewish customs, traditions and conversations would be in ancient Israel. But this thing has been going on now for over a year. Remember when we were discussing the seemingly difficult time we were having with prayers? Well now, it has moved on from praying to bible study. I have this sensation like a huge butterfly in my chest that just will not stop when I come to certain passages. It has become so bad that I have almost given up the prophecy chapters except for Daniel and Revelation of Jesus Christ. I know that the publishers and transcribers of the Book of REvelation refer to it as John's Revelation but that has always stuck in my throat. It was Jesus' revelation of Himself as the Head of the Church and what was and is to come. But he selected John the Apostle as the beloved disciple to reveal it to.
Ok, I am off to bed and I am really tired. We got a whole bunch of snow today, again and it is very pretty. To the east of us, Arkansas really got hammered and the Interstate 40 highway has been closed in a great portion of Arkansas. We are not used to getting all of this fluffy stuff and the temps are quite cold also. So, I get to wear my make believe fur lined coat for the 3rd time in 5 years and enjoy the warmth. But what about my sneakers? Do they have anything suitable to put over them to stay dry and warm. Just kidding! I have a pair of snow boots that have also been worn 3 times. Never wore the coat or the boots here in Oklahoma though. Just in Missouri when I went to visit.
Love all of you wonderful people and JIM C. I join with the others in again petitioning Abba to place you in a wonderful opportunity to share your wonderful heart, mind, MIND, MIND, and love of God. And may it be a financial blessing besides.
Grany
Jim C,
I'll join those praying for you brother.
Grany, maybe sometimes we need to put prophecy aside for a while and rest in Him to re-energize.
Yes, I agree...we all need to rest in Him.....plus prophecy can be so intense and confusing.
I've found myself at times lately not wanting to hear one more thing about current events either.
So yes, let's all make sure we are resting in Him.
Thanks, Mac!
BTW, I was speaking from personal experience of having been too caught up in world events and experiencing burn-out.
I am in need of a bit of advice/knowledge this week from my wise friends here. I am teaching a series on End times, following a chronological approach. This week we summarized the covenants, and next week we begin with Joel.
I had a couple of visitors this week who were well acquainted with their Bible, but did not share their Church connections. I am trying to place them, as it requires much more energy to teach a person when you don't know where they are coming from. The witness of the Holy Spirit was unclear to me. Here are some ideas they had. perhaps you might know who else holds them, or if they were personal ideas.
They had a clear (too clear) understanding of Lucifer before creation. They used Ezekiel as a clear description of his fall.
They claimed that God was Just, and that when the angels sinned, they crossed a wall and entered into non-existence (Even tho they are still existing).
Because of this fall of the angels, God had to create man as a counter-balance to restore "just".
They also claimed that God did not "plan" for sin, implying that he was surprised by it. (This issue is not a unique one, but part of this puzzle).
I also handed them a chart of the various views of ET, starting with realized Eschatology, then A-Mill, adding events till we get to partial rapture. They appeared to be completely unfamiliar with those views. This gave me the idea that they had been trained/taught in a narrow/exclusive context.
They don't seem like SDA, Perhaps JW, or Mormon.
Any ideas? this is not a lot to go on, but I would like to be better prepared for next Tuesday.
Thanks,
Wayne
Wayne, it doesn't sound like they're JW's, SDA's or even Mormons. I tried to do a Google search on the themes you gave and came up with a bunch of cults. They might even be a splinter group from H W Armstrong's WWCOG cult.
Speaking of Armstrong/WCOG, I noticed a sign along the road today, the kind that pop up during political seasons, that was an invitation to a new church called something like the Redeemed Christian Church of God. I haven't looked into it, but the first thing I thought was "Armstrong." I know the original group is still in existence, though I'm not sure of their locale. This new church might be one of the groups that tried to get things straightened out. Need to do some homework on it.
Well, I may have spoken in haste. I did a quick search of what I remembered form the sign and did find a "redeemed church of God" website which is based in Nigeria, but has branches in many parts of the world, including several in the US. Perhaps they're planting one near us in Philly. I quickly scanned their belief section and it looks sound on major doctrine. No mention of a connection to WWCOG.
Wayne, would love to hear from you again after you clarify the background of those you're ministering to. Have you checked out the CARM site? They have lots of good resources on various religions/cults and even chatboards where former/present members of those groups debate and share info. I was reading the JW board for awhile when I had 2 church members visiting me regularly. I didn't want to spend a lot of time reading the materials they were leaving with me, so I got alot of "cliff notes" from CARM to get me up to speed.
Also, inspired??? prayer time tonight with the kids. We had the news on during dinner to see what was going on in Egypt and the kids have a general awareness of the situation, but we haven't said much more than just the people want a new leader. But Josh must've been paying closer attention that we realized because at prayer time when we had the kids make their requests, Josh asked God to "take care of Israel." They know that's the land where Jesus was born and it's a special place in the world. Bob and I were both caught off guard, but agreed with his prayer that God indeed would be taking care of Israel and all the surrounding countries during these tense days.
Have a great weekend ahead, everyone!
Blessings,
Jen
How sweet, Jen, your kids sound so sweet!
I have to say that after reading about cults earlier, I got a little nervous and fearful....I guess we all have our trigger points!
As for those other people, Wayne, hopefully you will be able to move forward with your teaching and not let anyone sideline you when you do so.
I seemed to recall that I read somewhere (perhaps a year or two ago) that the Worldwide Church of God founded by Armstrong had abandoned it's unorthodox teachings. Looks like it's true. Check out the following.
Worldwide Church of God - founded and led by Herbert W. Armstrong
"...starting in the mid 1980's under Joseph Tkach Sr, and later his son, Joseph Tkach Jr. - the church's current leader - the Worldwide Church of God has undergone major changes in doctrine to the extend that is has rejected its heretical teachings, and instead has embraced orthodox Christianity."
This is even better.
A Short History of Grace Communion International
Now, imagine the same happening with JWs and Mormons. Wouldn't that be wonderful!
Donna, I don't think your going to like this one then ~ But it's right down my alley. (:
Jim C, You might like this. Marzulli interviewed Richard Grund who is an exorcist & was reviewing his opinion of the movie "The Rite" with the reality of his ministry.
He explains how the Babylonians, Muslims & anyone else can follow a prescription & cast demons out. You don't have to be filled w/the Spirit to do so. However, he doesn't go w/any "formula" other than prayer & the Word of God.
Also, once again - He says Christians can be oppressed by demons too. I think the guy should know.
Interesting testimony of how he started the ministry & stories of deliverances.
I really enjoyed it.

Satan Is Practicing for Armageddon-Pastor Joseph Chambers
Brian McLaren: Christians in Denial Over Evolution of Faith
Christians in Denial Over Evolution of Faith
Controversial emergent church leader Brian McLaren said recently that Christians are in “deep denial” over the continuous evolution of the Christian faith which allows the work of Charles Darwin to be celebrated, not feared.
McLaren, who argued for an overhaul of the Christian faith in his 2010 book A New Kind of Christianity, joined a panel discussion Tuesday that addressed the evolution of the church and the Christian identity in postmodern or “post-postmodern” times.
The telecast discussion is part of “The Advent of Evolutionary Christianity,” a project that seeks to bring together a diverse panel of “evolution-celebrating” Christians who don’t believe one has to settle on either Jesus or Darwin. Michael Dowd, author of Thank God for Evolution, is host and moderator of the series.
“Evolutionary Christianity is a fact of history about which a lot of Christians are in deep denial,” said McLaren during a session entitled “Evolving Church.” “The fact is the church has constantly been evolving. So many Roman Catholics are shocked to learn that priestly celibacy wasn’t required for quite a while. It was several centuries ago that it became a universal requirement.”

Vatican Says iPhone App Can't Forgive Sins
Jim G, i's true that the WWCOG underwent a transformation. However, those who dissented started their own ministries and kept the original tenets that Armstrong pushed. One of them (TheTrumpet.com) is quite prominent and you wouldn't know unless you checked out the suggested reading material on their website.
Good grief, Grany, -31 in Oklahoma?? Even we in Minnesota call that cold!
Oklahoma sees record cold: -31
Anne,
I heard that, too. And the weatherman went on to say that it could reach 70 degrees early next week, which would be a 100 degree swing in a week. Crazy!
Lisa, the whole uproar over that "Confession" app has got to be an example of willful ignorance on the part of some reporter. By that I mean someone scanned the original press release then used his or her imagination to fill in the blanks, and never bothered to check the resulting story for accuracy.
What this app does is called "Examination of Conscience". The Sacrament of Reconciliation (aka "Confession") is supposed to provide a "course correction" in your spiritual life: have I been angry for no reason? Is this affecting my relationship with the people around me? Have I lied, even very small ones? In order to help, churches frequently provide printed lists asking these questions. The point is to meditate upon these questions so you can give a full and complete accounting of your spiritual life when you are in the confessional, discussing these things with the priest.
All this application does is provide a simpler way for people with iPhones to do this examination of conscience. In fact, the hope is that users will make frequent, even daily use of these questions so spiritual problems can be nipped in the bud, so to speak.

Oh how I feel much trepidation for the people of Egypt right now. President stepped down and they are celebrating in the streets, saying they are finally free. They may be free from the dictator but what is to come? They are so jubilant today and watching it on TV I feel heartbroken for them. I think that we are being lied to and lied to big time. Something worse is to come for them. The military is now being given control, and since when has it ever been a good thing when a country comes under control of the military? Oh, bad feelings about this one. Muslim Brotherhood waiting in the wings like a snake ready to strike. Very bad feelings about this and the repercussions on the world. I am sad while watching the people celebrate thinking they will get free and fair elections.

Jim C, The article explained what you just stated which is different from the heading. That was one of the funniest lead in's (for me anyway) I’ve read in a long time.
It's even more so as a non-Catholic since we go directly though Christ to the Father & skip the man/priest route. Christ is our High Priest & direct & personal mediator although as the Body of Christ we do pray and intercede for one another though Christ as well. It’s just that man does not have the authority to forgive sins.
As a Catholic I'm sure it's not quite as humorous.
ANNE,
Aw shucks, it is just a little bit colder but we all eat plenty of protein. If you have never tried to sink your teeth into a Okie Steak, you'll never be the same again. Tough teeth help but so does the desire to chew and chew and chew.
I wouldn't doubt it one little bit that it will reach 70 degrees next week here in Okieland.
DIANA, I so totally agree with you and I mean big time. Egypt needs all of our prayers full time. I remember the days when the Shah of Iran was being displaced and the Peanut Farmer president was thinking he was so smart in how he treated the Shah. The jubilant show in the streets because they now had a new leader and the Shah was gone. It wasn't very long until the scene changed and terror began to be the norm.
Our stupid MSM and whatever that is in DC that prides itself on always riding his horse backwards. Now you know just what is the influence factor in both of those camps and it isn't the Holy Spirit. It is almost like both camps are demon possessed.
That is all of the rant I am going to allow myself to get into today. The temptation is there but I am not going to give into it.
Adieu to you all,
Grany
Jim G, have you seen this link before?
I've been trying to get my head around some of the arguments and concepts. It appears to be a great resource.
Grany,
I can usually track with your witty references but I didn't follow this one:
"Our stupid MSM and whatever that is in DC that prides itself on always riding his horse backwards."
Can you (or anyone else) help clarify who or what MSM is and what you mean by "riding his horse backwards?"
Perhaps it's simply a figure of speach I'm not familiar with.
Mac,
I'm pretty sure I have seen this site before but it's been quite a while since I visited it. I'll have to check it out again. Thanks.
JIM G.
Yeah, I will explain. I just got too tired before I posted that remark so, I owe it to everyone to open the doors again.
MSM=1. Main Stream Media
2. Mighty Stupid Media
Riding his horse backwards is an old timey saying of someone not quite bright enough to sit correctly on a horse but worse still, always seeing things wrong because he is riding backwards.
Around here, Cowboys and Indians would take it as a very big insult to their common sense abilities.
There are times when I have to really hold myself back from walking to DC for a show down with those in authority over us.
My DJH (Dear Jewel Husband)ahem! told me that I need to quit taking the political news so seriously. Really? I just thought recognizing arrogance and puffed up pride was a common thing. Anyway, I am going to take his advice to heart and go back to praying for our elected officials.
In the meantime, I am staying warm in my cozy kitchen. Boy, the difference in our temps is absolutely mind boggling. Even our kitty kat is outside enjoying the sunshine and melting snow.

Some on posted this on Marzulli's site: Saudia Arabia's King Abdullah passed away
And if it's true here is the real clincher!
"King Abdullah talked with Obama about the situation in Egypt over the phone yesterday. Obama and the King got into a heated debate about their opinions of what Hosni Mubarak should do. After the phone call sources stated that King Abdullah was furious and then suffered a sudden heart attack."
(Better watch out in talking w/ the big "O". I don't know who I dislike more- O-prah or O-bama.)
The King of Saudi Arabia is not dead but just a rumor. Here is Debkafiles' report on it and I would have linked to the whole thing but it is now in archives and has to be purchased.
Deep US-Saudi rift over Egypt: Abdullah stands by Mubarak, turns to Tehran.
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report February 10, 2011, 4:31 PM (GMT+02:00)
In better times
The conversation between President Barack Obama and Saudi King Abdullah early Thursday, Feb. 10, was the most acerbic the US president has ever had with an Arab ruler, DEBKAfile's Middle East sources report.
They had a serious falling-out on the Egyptian crisis which so enraged the king that some US and Middle East sources reported he suffered a sudden heart attack. Rumors that he had died rocked the world financial and oil markets that morning and were denied by an adviser to the ruling family.
Some Gulf sources say he has had heart attacks in the past. Those sources disclose that the call which Obama put into Abdullah, who is recuperating from back surgery at his palace in Morocco, brought their relations into deep crisis and placed in jeopardythe entire edifice of US Iran and Middle East policies.
The king chastised the president for his treatment of Egypt and its
president Hosni Muhbarak calling it a disaster that would generate
instability in the region and imperil all the moderate Arab rulers and regimes which had backed the United States until now. Abdullah took Obama to task for ditching America's most faithful ally in the Arab world and vowed that if the US continues to try and get rid of Mubarak, the Saudi royal family would bend all its resources to undoing Washington's plans for
Egypt and nullifying their consequences.
According to British intelligence sources in London, the Saudi King pledged to make up the losses to Egypt if Washington cuts off military and economic aid to force Mubarak to resign. He would personally instruct the Saudi treasury to transfer to the embattled Egyptian ruler the exact
amounts he needs for himself and his army to stand up to American
pressure.
Through all the ups and downs of Saudi-US relations since the 1950s no Saudi ruler has ever threatened direct action against American policy.
A senior Saudi source told the London Times that "Mubarak and King
Abdullah are not just allies, they are close friends, and the King is not about to see his friend cast aside and humiliated."
Indeed, our sources add, the king at the age of 87 is fearful that in the event of a situation developing in Saudi Arabia like the uprising in Egypt, Washington would dump him just like Mubarak.
CONTINUE NEXT COMMENT
CONTINUED:
DEBKAfile's intelligence sources add that replacement aid for Egypt was not the only card in Abdullah's deck. He informed Obama that without waiting for events in Egypt to play out or America's response, he had ordered the process set in train for raising the level of Riyadh's diplomatic and military ties with Tehran. Invitations had gone out from Riyadh for Iranian delegations to visit the main Saudi cities.
Abdullah stressed he had more than one bone to pick with Obama. The king accused the US president of turning his back not only on Mubarak but on another beleaguered American ally, the former Lebanese Prime Minister Sa'ad Hariri, when he was toppled by Iran's surrogate Hizballah.
Our sources in Washington report that all of President Obama's efforts to pacify the Saudi king and explain his Egyptian policy fell on deaf ears.
Arab sources in London reported Tuesday, Feb. 8, that a special US
presidential emissary was dispatched to Morocco with a message of explanation for the king. He was turned away. This is not confirmed by US or Saudi sources.
The initiation of dialogue between Riyadh and Tehran is the most dramatic fallout in the region from the crisis in Egypt. Its is a boon for the ayatollahs who are treated the sight of pro-Western regimes either fading under the weight of domestic uprisings, or turning away from the US as Saudi Arabia is doing now.
This development is also of pivotal importance for Israel. Saudi Arabia's close friendship with the Mubarak regime dovetailed neatly with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's alignment with Egypt and provided them with common policy denominators. The opening of the Saudi door to the Iranian push toward the Red Sea and Suez Canal tightens the Iranian siege ring around Israel.
Signs of friction between Washington and Riyadh were not noticeable this week even before President Obama's call to King Abdullah. Some American media reported the discovery that Saudi oil reserves were a lot smaller than previously estimated. And Saudi media ran big headlines, most untypically, alleging the US embassy and consulate in Dahran were paying sub-contractors starvation wages of $4.3 a day for cleaning work and $3.3 a day for gardening work.
Whoa, Obama so enraged the king that he had a heart attack??!!! I'm sorry, my DH and I just could not help but bust up laughing at that one. I think Obama does these things on purpose, in order to upset the stability in the region. Just insane I can't stand it! Thanks guys for sharing ti!
Diana
Lisa, you are looking at the issue from the wrong angle: the Catholic Sacrament of Reconciliation (aka Confession) isn't about the need to kneel before a priest for forgiveness. It is about the great gift that G_D has given us to allow us to kneel before another human being and receive Divine forgiveness. I agree that you can be forgiven of your sins by directly petitioning the Lord G_D. I don't think you realize the graces you are denying yourself, though, through the confession of your sins to another. Remember: when you sin, you not only sin against G_D but against your brother or sister. To confess your sins to the person you have sinned against and asking their forgiveness is more powerful than confessing your sins to G_D, for G_D has said that He desires mercy.
Let's say you sin against your husband. You can, if you wish, go straight to G_D and ask Him to forgive you, all without bringing up the matter with your husband. Yet where will this leave your relationship with him? Now picture yourself kneeling before your husband, confessing your sin, and asking him to forgive you. Do you sense a difference, a humility, that may not be there when you simply petition G_D for forgiveness? "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." (James 5:16)
Yet presenting yourself to someone whom you have sinned against and asking for their forgiveness may not be possible. Let's say you sin against a stranger, perhaps someone who cut you off on the freeway. How do you find them in order to confess your sin against them and ask forgiveness?
It is for this reason that Jesus appeared before the disciples, "... breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." (John 20: 22-23) Note that this was just the disciples, not the multitudes, so these disciples (who would become the first priests) would have the authority to act in the place of the person sinned against. By kneeling before a priest, you are kneeling before someone whose authority has been passed down through generations directly from Jesus Himself, who can truly forgive sins, even those sins that you did not commit against him.
<><
Diana, no, I don't think Obama does these things on purpose. I think he does them because he's a fool, who is still learning that just because he's president he can't make things happen by declaring them so; and that he continues to try to play all sides, meaning no side is going to trust him.
I cannot WAIT until Arizona or Texas or all those other states pass laws requiring presidential candidates provide proof they meet Constitutional requirements!

Some more reasons to pray for the believers in Egypt:
"Democratic" Egypt Sends Apostates to Their Death
The Egyptians in revolt are asking for more freedom, but they also want the death penalty for those who convert from Islam to another religion. A major survey on the most populous Muslim country of northern Africa and the Middle East
Much of the Egyptian population that in recent days has rebelled against the thirty-year regime of Hosni Mubarak says that it prefers democracy to any other form of government.
At the same time, however, and in an overwhelming majority, they want those who commit adultery to be stoned, thieves to have their hands cut off, and those who abandon the Muslim religion to be put to death.

DEBKAfile Special Report February 13, 2011, 8:52 AM (GMT+02:00) .
Things are moving right along and now we will see if there is egg on the face of our great and illustrious leaders or not. The people say they want democracy but they are sure insisting on some funny ideas of forced beliefs and customs.
Today might just be the beginning of thee biggest battle to ever hit this earth. Is. 19 (yes JIM C. it is yet to happen as it is stated), Ps. 83, Is. 17, and just start putting the puzzle pieces together. I have just witnessed a lot of bible doctrine go sliding right out the door. Not assigning that to any one denomination or belief group.
I keep hearing this passage and I think it would be very wise for all of us to take it to heart.
Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (New American Standard Bible)
Psalm 113: 1 Hallelujah! Praise, ye servants of Jehovah, praise the name of Jehovah.
2 Blessed be the name of Jehovah, from this time forth and for ever more!
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, let Jehovah's name be praised.
4 Jehovah is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like unto Jehovah our God, who hath placed his dwelling on high;
6 Who humbleth himself to look on the heavens and on the earth?
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust; from the dung-hill he lifteth up the needy,
8 To set him among nobles, among the nobles of his people.
9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, as a joyful mother of sons. Hallelujah!"
Praise ye, the Lord! If you don't the rocks will cry out in your place.
Jim C., The meaning of John 20:23 that you stated is pulled out of context. If there are more verses in scripture that support that interpretation then let's check it out.THE MEANING OF JOHN 20: 21 - 23
(Asking for forgiveness from one whom you've wronged & confessing sins/weaknesses to those whom you trust in Christ is Biblical. Non-Catholics follow those teachings.)
Lisa, if we're going to engage in dueling tracts:
The Forgiveness of Sins
This tract deals almost exclusively with Scriptural evidence to support the Catholic belief. Much of the confusion between Catholic and Protestant views has to do with grammar: was Jesus speaking to an individual, to a group, or to the whole of believers? Denver Cheddie falls into this trap in comparing Matt. 16:18-19 and Matt. 18:18. In the first, when you look at the original texts in Aramaic, the grammar is clear that in the first quote Jesus is speaking particularly to Peter; in the second he is speaking collectively to the small group. The phrase "binding and loosing" was a frequent image used in rabbinical literature at the time, most often used to indicate the transfer of authority to a person. The teaching of this tract is summed up in this paragraph:
Since he would not always be with the Church visibly, Christ gave this power to other men so the Church, which is the continuation of his presence throughout time (Matt. 28:20), would be able to offer forgiveness to future generations. He gave his power to the apostles, and it was a power that could be passed on to their successors and agents, since the apostles wouldn’t always be on earth either, but people would still be sinning.
Confession
This tract takes a different approach than the first one, in that it not only shows Scriptural support for the Catholic interpretation, it also shows how this interpretation is the one that was believed and taught by the ECF (Early Church Fathers): those people who were either taught by the Apostles (who had received their teachings from Jesus) or by those who had been taught by those whom the Apostles had taught.
One important consideration is that Cheddie holds that the power to forgive sin is held only by G_D (Luke 5:21). Yet this view contradicts Matthew 9:6-8:
This sacrament is rooted in the mission God gave to Christ in his capacity as the Son of man on earth to go and forgive sins (cf. Matt. 9:6). Thus, the crowds who witnessed this new power "glorified God, who had given such authority to men" (Matt. 9:8; note the plural "men"). After his resurrection, Jesus passed on his mission to forgive sins to his ministers, telling them, "As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. . . . Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained" (John 20:21–23).
The tract then goes on to cite various ECF to show that what the Church taught then is what the Church teaches now. You have to ask yourself, who has the better chance of being right: the writings of someone who lived at the time, or the interpretations of someone who lived a thousand years or more later.

Interesting...although (in my opinion) the RCC teachings on these verses do not coincide with the teachings found in the letters of Romans, Hebrews, Galatians, Ephesians, etc.
These letters must be read as a whole (rather than a verse here and there).
The teaching is clear...that forgiveness comes through Him and Him alone, once and for all, through his sacrificial death on the cross.
The sacrifices of the Old Testament were shadows of what were to come...Jesus' death on the cross, opening the gates to all who believe and accept Him and Him alone.
WHAT'S HOT IN EGYPT: MUBARAK DID NOT RESIGN AS REPORTED
Also, you might want to consider this relating it to John 20 that Jim quoted.
1 John 5: 1 And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life. 13 I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 14 And we can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will. 15 And if we know he is listening when we make our requests, we can be sure that he will give us what we ask for. 16 If you see a Christian brother or sister sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it. 17 Every wrong is sin, but not all sin leads to death. 18 We know that those who have become part of God's family do not make a practice of sinning, for God's Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot get his hands on them. 19 We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the power and control of the evil one. 20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we are in God because we are in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. 21 Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts." (New Living Translation) I suggest very strongly that there are multitude of scripture that tells us Jesus Christ is our intercessor before the Throne of God.
Besides that, the biggest command that Jesus gave ALL OF US as believers in him is to Love one another and be peaceable. In fact, it was the only command that Jesus made as unconditional. "Love the Lord God with all of your heart, mind and soul, and your neighbor as yourself."
Interesting link, Grany. How the heck did he get a hold of all that money?
And why doesn't he give it back?
Grany, interesting report. There's also this rumor as reportec by the Jerusalem Post:
Report: Mubarak in coma, no decision on move to hospital
<><
Exactly, Donna! Reminds me of that Nobel-prize-winning billionaire Arafat.
I don't trust the reports coming out of Egypt by way of regular channels. For one reason, remember that link I posted about Will an Army Officer Be The Next President, etc. from DebkaFile? Well, at the end of that article there is this information:
DEBKAfile's Cairo sources report that the division commanders did not ask for permission; they gave the high council's 25 generals due warning that the soldiers were to be phased out of the cities and it was necessary to get the police in to replace them.
This tenor of exchange placed a question mark over the measure of control the high military command exercises in the towns. There are signs that the division and brigade commanders in the field may be calling the shots in many instances. Some intelligence quarters in Washington are led to believe that the transition period may well throw up a charismatic field commander for taking over the presidential palace rather than a known civilian face.
None of the generals in the top command is either charismatic or particularly popular, certainly not the ageing Tantawi or Chief of Staff Gen. Sami Al-Anan.
The whereabouts of the deposed president are another unknown. According to one report making the rounds in Cairo Mubarak and family are not in Sharm el-Sheikh as claimed, but were flown by the ARMY HELICOPTER that CARRIED HIM OUT OF THE CAPITAL FRIDAY, Feb. 11, to ONE of the ARMY FACILITIES on the RED SEA COAST of SOUTHERN EGYPT - possibly Ghardaqa - or a LOCAL LUXURY HOTEL. It was not clear whether Mubarak is the army's prisoner or the troops were hiding him for his own protection."
Now, the next quoted link was the information that Mubarak denied ever calling Suliman and resigning his office of President. That would make the story about a stroke or coma a lie. The reason I trust DebkaFile is the same reason most of the Intelligence Community relies on them. They continually get it right and it is not by accident either.
Why doesn't he give back the money? Have any of you ever tried to get your money back from powerful people or institutions? Besides that, what proof is there that what he has assets in are illegal or ill gotten gain? Maybe they are but until it is proven I wouldn't get too worked up about MSM reporting. Cathy Couric gets 13 million per year and is anyone complaining about that in the media? No way! How about our ex-president and Mrs. Clinton. I guarantee you when they went to Washington, DC they were not millionaires by any stretch of the imagination. But Baby, they have come a long way since those 8 years, in more ways than one.
Keep your eyes on the important things that are known to be true and unhook from the petty information that will divert your attention.
Besides that lecture I just posted (Sorry about that and I do apologize)you know that our Heavenly Father has a very sure way of taking care of thieves and traitors. Where is Arafat today? And what good will billions of Egyptian dollars do for Mubarak and his family if they are found to be guilty of robbing the poor? Look at the history of evil doers and worry no more about them. Nothing we can do anyway.
Please pray for my precious wife, precious son, and me. He's having some behavioral issues that is putting incredible stress on Angie (my wife). She feels like he's slipping away from us at such a young age and she feels like we're failing as parents. I am not as alarmed and pessimistic as she is about the situation though I do have some concerns.
There is also the possibility that Angie has cervical cancer. She had an abnormal pap about 3 weeks ago and had a colposcapy last Thursday. The procedure was physically and emotionally painful for her. Doctor ended up seeing stuff she was hoping not to and took samples from 3 growths. She said don't worry until she calls us back which could be up to two weeks. Anyway, I could go on with other stressful issues (extended family, other medical concerns, finances, depression, etc...) We're just under attack! God is good and we will trust Him no matter what. Who else is there but Him. Even if there was someone else, no one can hold a candle to Abba.
Jim G, we'll be keeping you in our prayers. Please keep us informed.
Jim G, I'm praying for your family. I remember some of your extended family issues from before and will pray about that, too.
Jim C,
I must disagree on your assessment of Obama. My husband also thinks Obama is a fool but I think he knows what he is doing. For a while I thought that he was such an idealist and lived in his own made up world but now I'm not too sure on that one. Here is an interesting article on the subject. Anyway, either being a fool or a very smart cat who knows how to get what he wants, his decisions are disastrous!

Aww, Jim G. In prayer for your family too. How old is your dear son? I know your wife must be scared. Will hold you all up in prayer
Diana
Grany,
The plot thickens...those articles about Mubarak are VERY interesting indeed! DH and I are very suspicious about the story of a man who has been in power for 30 years suddenly, after only 18 days, deciding to give it up! Something is going on...
Diana
Hi Diana,
Daniel is 4 years old. Will be 5 in September. At the beginning of the year, we thought it would be good to put him in pre-school. He's on the cusp in terms of age as to what "grade" he should be in. He'll either be the youngest in his class or the oldest depending upon which year we decide for him to start school. Anyway, he's an only child (not by our choice but by the Lord's). Very friendly. Very self-confident and assertive. Very strong willed. Excellent memory. At times, unbelievable.
Anyway, the school we placed him in was a highly recommended, very solid and spiritually sound Christian school. He was in a small class of only 8 (including him). His teacher has taught for about 30 years. He was simply too wild and full of energy. Was sent to the principal's office numerous times just so his teacher could focus on teaching the rest of the class. Both the principal and his teacher were concerned that he was picking up the label of the "bad kid". About a month ago, we picked him up from school and his teacher informed us that it would be best if he didn't come back. He was kicked out of pre-school! You may be wondering, do we discipline him? ABSOLUTELY. He gets a ton of love and discipline. Generally, Focus on the Family type of advice is the kind of Biblical advice we strive to follow.
JIM G.
I will be keeping all of you in my prayers and petitions. The hardest enemy to whip is fear but it is under the name of Jesus and a verse that I have almost branded into my whole being is pretty simple to remember and it sure sends the enemy scattering: "God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind". Seems that just saying it out loud, under my breath or just running it through my head brings about amazing peace. If God gave it to me then it is mine and I don't have to be put under the paralyzing power of fear. Where there is fear there is torment and Jesus Christ took our torment a long time ago.
Diana, I agree with your hubby and you. I also know that Boo Hoo has plenty of devious, brilliant advisors and aides that know how to spin the truth until it is palatable to even the smartest. In all of that, it is the Born Again Believers that he has to contend with. When you put it in those frames, it starts making sense. However, God isn't finished with the man yet and he will have his Damascus Road experience shortly. Even Saul changed radically and B.H.O. isn't any different. I want to see and praise God when it happens and I know that it will.
We cannot give up hope or Christ won territory.
Anyway, in a nutshell, things seemed to go downhill once we put him into pre-school. He loves to be the center of attention. But he is very full of energy and has difficulty sitting still (though he can do it). I think obedience and compliance are the things he struggles with. He likes to be in control. He was only in school two days a week for 2.5 hours each day. Someone suggested that maybe 5 days is what a kid like him needs. Angie is very resistant to the idea of homeschooling. My thought was homeschool him for kindergarten this coming year and then see if we can put him in either private or public school for 1st grade. My fear is that he is very bright and will be too bored with kindergarten if we wait until September 2012. Angie thinks he is simply not ready for kindergarten come September of this year. I don't know. We both think he needs more physical and intellectual stimulation but Angie is struggling to keep up in so many ways (emotionally and physically). Anyway, sorry for the long answer but thought some context would help. There's some great, godly wisdom from folks here in the cave.
Oh Jim, Daniel sounds like such a precious little guy! Really, God made him this way and God will work with what He has made. It seems to me that the brightest kids among us can also be the most rambunctious. Public school kindergarten can be a very hard place for a boy like Daniel. There is nothing wrong with him but schools are just not made for high spirited little guys. I will caution you against letting anyone label him ADD or ADHD either at such a young age. I have a little guy who is 5 and he just exhausts me. He is yelling at me from his bedroom at this very moment in fact. Freaks out if things aren't just "so", has major problems with new situations or a change of routine, very stubborn. I struggle each day just to get him to get dressed for the day and to dress for bed at night. He is full of energy and is so, so sweet. I am scared to death of sending him to kindergarten. He has been to preschool and did fine though, I was shocked. Kindergarten is all day though which can be harder for these little guys. I do understand why your wife would be hesitant to homeschool too. Are there any homeschool groups near by? If so and you do keep him home one more year perhaps being involved with a group of like minded people would help. Your wife could take him to groups and stay with him, this would help with transitions and discipline. If he goes to kindergarten you need to speak with the principal to inform him of Daniel's experience in preschool, this would help in placing him with the right teacher. Again, please don't let anyone (teachers, doctors, school) label him as ADHD, he is too young. We seem to have an epidemic in this country of labeling kids and then medicating them to get them to go along with the program. Daniel's personality will serve him well and help him on the narrow path of the Lord's when he is older and the Lord has worked in him as He wills. It is hard to see that now.
Sorry this is so long but I just feel for you as i have 4 children of my own and 2 of them exhaust me with their stubbornness and other certain ways about them!
Diana
Oh, also Jim, I noticed that he will be 5 in September. My son's birthday is on Sept 23, three weeks shy of the cut off for kindergarten. So, he will be in kindergarten this fall just before he turns 6. This is actually good that he has an extra year to mature. Boys do not mature at the same rate as girls so I had no problem putting my girls in kindergarten at age 5 but this boy would not have been able to handle it! My other boy was a young 5 in kindergarten and he was so lost for the first month or so. He did have a very experienced teacher though, 40 years of teaching, I think that helped. So, you actually really may want to give Daniel another year because he will be such a young 5 year old this fall and will probably be less mature than others in the class, especially the girls and those older boys.

having issues signing into blogger today
Such a hard call about when to put kids in kindergarten. My granddaughter is also in Oregon and I was surprised to learn that she could start K before she turned 5! In Minnesota a child must be 5 before Sept 1.
Jim, would Angie benefit from a sitter or nanny for two or three afternoons a week, one who would take him to something like soccer or other sport he enjoys? Or just a chance to run and play while Angie has time for herself? I know it's exhausting even taking a child to the park, especially one who is very active.
Protesters Are Awesome: Look at This Beautiful Photo of Christians Protecting Praying Muslims in Egypt
Diana, it's funny you should mention it, but I was going to suggest that Daniel be evaluated for ADHD! It is uncommon for children that young to be diagnosed and medicated but not unheard of. My oldest daughter was diagnosed and started medication at age 6 (I cannot begin to tell you what it was an experience it was, sitting with her in the car about 15 minutes after her first dose of medication, and realizing she was quiet!) About a month or so later we had our middle daughter, aged 5, evaluated and again, because her behavior was so extreme we put her on medication. The medication helped, but we've since learned that she has mild Asperger's. That necessitated a change in her medications as she grew older; still, if we hadn't had her evaluated and medicated when we did, we could not have gotten her into the early intervention programs that have helped immensely.
So Jim, if Daniel has not been evaluated by a specialist, you may want to do that ASAP if only to give you ammo when his teachers start bringing it up. By getting ahead of the ball now, you can start giving him the focused help he may need. I only partially agree with Diana re: medication. Simply medicating a "problem" is the wrong answer. Medication must always be accompanied by counseling of some form. It might be individual counseling or family counseling, but the counseling is essential in order to give feedback. To the end of his life, my Dad regretted not having me evaluated or medicated earlier. Unfortunately, at home it was "Well, that's just Jim" and at school they figured if there was a problem my Dad, as a doctor, would be taking care of it.
And Diana, I know you didn't ask, but as the father of someone with mild Asperger's I have to ask if you've had your 5-yo evaluated. I ask simply because when you wrote Freaks out if things aren't just "so", has major problems with new situations or a change of routine, very stubborn, I had a sudden picture of my middle daughter at that age. FWIW, my youngest daughter also has Asperger's, more severe than my middle daughter, so I know whereof I speak!

Through ways too convoluted to go into here, I found that the rumor about Mubarak having died is making its way around the Twitterverse. I just ran across this tweet:
Amr Adib confirms that Mubarak (not z president) is NOT dead, and is still 'breathing'
(Amr Adib is an Egyptian news anchor.)
Does anyone else here remember the Saturday Night Live routine where every week Chevy Chase would announce that "Generalissimo Fransisco Franco is still dead!"
<><
LOL...my "freaks out about everything/doesn't handle transitions well/has to have everything his way, etc." child is the middle one. From the day he was born I knew he'd be the nail that sticks up and for the first few years, I (and everyone else who meets him) spoke of him in those terms. I even for awhile thought he might be autistic because as a baby, he'd go stiff as a board and scream his head off for no reason. Had to be held standing up and the moment you tried to slink down into a chair (at 3AM, after feeding and rocking the other 2 mind you), he would detect the lower elevation and start all over. Exhausting!
At the same time, he's the most charming, most delightful and loving and sometimes I think he's my favorite (not that I have one, but because I can talk with him about such fascinating and interesting things.) Captivating is a good word. So while I'm losing my temper and mind trying to negotiate with him, I'm hungering for more, all at the same time. What a unique child God created!
Anyway, his kdg teacher detected these things right away, too, and told me after 1 week that she was afraid she might have to hold him back a year because he wasn't dealing well with so many things in class (really, he was bored with all the initial stuff that the teacher has to evaluate like colors and letters, etc. and he'd rather be at home identifying the various species of dinosaurs from the crustaceous period.) Within a month, he was totally adjusted though and we've had very little trouble that's lasted longer than a day or two. He's getting stimulated now and things have really turned around.
What was the turning point? The teacher didn't do anything really different, we didn't do anything different here at home with him. But the Lord pressed hard on me to take an inventory of how I was speaking about Josh, agreeing with others that he was "going to be the difficult one" in the group, etc. and just generally believing that Josh's future was going to be full of obstacles and potholes because of his challenging personality. I realized one night as I was worrying about all these things that I was not standing on any of God's promises for Josh's bright future and in fact, my heart was pouring out of my mouth about the things that would bring defeat and limitation and lack. It was SOOO convicting and humbling and I just bawled my eyes out when I realized how I had actually been contributing to the "atmosphere" around him. The Lord also reminded me that the enemy is always lurking, listening, waiting to hear what is troubling us so he can send more ammunition in those very areas of weakness. And I had been giving him plenty! So I asked for forgiveness, for a right attitude toward Josh and then set to making a list of Scriptures that promote all the things I desired for him and all the verses that would release God's power to restore and rebuild his weak areas. Every night now, I pray these verses over him while he's sleeping and I watch my words very carefully, especially when he's within listening range. It's hard to break the habit of agreeing with others who speak about him in a "well, that's Josh" way, but I'm getting better at it, because the stakes are so great. And it's working. His midterm evals came back last week and he's actually doing better in all areas than his 2 siblings (who we always thought would sail through because they're pleaser types.)
Anyway, I'm not against other interventions and we'd go that route if it became obvious that it was needed. But I can't encourage the praying and speaking "life" avenues enough. It's something you can do today, a change that can be made immediately! And it feels so much better to do something alongside God because we know He's all about life and blessing and rescuing!
Just some thoughts that might be helpful to consider :-)
Blessings,
Jen
PS. If anyone wants to see Josh in rare form, check out my 3peas blog. I just posted a video of him engaged in his latest passion, being a "madician." He's telling everyone now that his next trick will be sawing them in half.
Jim C,
My sister's son and husband both have Asperger's! Yes, I have thought about that for my Joshua and my sister has sent some info to me about it. For a long time he would not interact with other children other than his brother either but we got him into an early intervention preschool and since then he is no longer like that, but he no longer attends the preschool. He has very particular ways about him and has to have certain things just so. I understand that there are different degrees, his would be very mild. My husband was diagnosed ADHD as a child and also medicated as a teen. He is very much opposed to the medication of children so that is where I am getting it from. Daniel is so, so young. But perhaps if you had some info on ADHD then you could arm yourselves when the subject comes up with the school (which it will, any child who can't sit still long enough is questioned about ADHD) I would make a bad public school teacher as I don't believe in all they do with our kids these days.
Anyway, great insights Jim C! Jim G will be bombarded by us all and hopefully will not come away more confused!
Diana
Hey Jen,
That was a fantastic testimony!! I loved it!! My Joshua is 5 and I have another child who is 14 who was very much like him at his age. I have always thought that their personalities were very similar. I have two others who have very similar personalities as well; pleasers, safe, factual and down to earth. I am wondering what the Lord is cooking up with this 5th one! Interesting thing about Joshua and also Victoria (the 14 year old) is that they are absolutely perfect at school. Josh has had preschool experiences and his teachers adored him; sweet and thoughtful and never rambunctious! Ah, children. What a joy and blessing they are!!
Thanks again Jen, I will remember your words and put them into practice!
Diana
Diana, if you haven't read it already, you have GOT to read "House Rules: A Novel" by Jodi Picoult. My ex insisted I read it, because the book describes what life has been like in her house the past few years.
It is a murder mystery, centered around an 18-yo boy with severe Asperger's, whose facilitator is murdered. It doesn't help that the boy is a forensic genius. His divorced mom is just barely getting by, and his 14-yo brother is chafing under the responsibility of being his older brother's caretaker. Some of it is funny in a way that only someone who has experience with Asperger's can understand.

wanted to pass on that I have a new post at my blog
and I wanted to suggest that if you are looking for a great read try Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas
my two cents worth on the subject of bright boys
Why Gender Matters and Boys Adrift are 2 great books on the kinds of questions you all have. The author is a secular author, Leonard Saxe, and he presents some interesting evidences on why our schools are failing boys in the first book and some really interesting stuff in the second book such as the real dangers of medicating kids with the ADD drugs especially boys and some new data that explodes the commonly held belief that if the medication works they must have the problem. As the mother of a very precocious bright boy they have given us some interesting insights.
He by the way is an MD PhD who special interest in ADD ADHD. He thinks some kids should be medicated as long as they carefully monitored but he uses very strict criteria.
I will say that as our son has gotten older he is less active. We also homeschool and one of his ideas was to not try to make him sit still and wow what a difference. Might I suggest a Montessori school? There are some Christian ones.
Just a quick, middle of the night post (woke up with a bit of low blood sugar levels) to say THANK YOU to all who have shared your thoughts and insights as well as thank you to all who are praying. I REALLY appreciate the wonderful feedback from each and every one of you.
This article has kicked my arse...pardon the vernacular.
The Soul Winner's Six Mighty Motivations
would love some prayers for tomorrow. I have been called to give an account to our QA committee about a complication. Which can be a nerve racking process but in my case the more so since the surgeon who sits on the committee has already knifed my in the back more times than I can count. So I do have some concerns but I also know that God is in control and he has called me to this place and time and that weapons formed against me don't prosper. It could be recommended that the matter be passed up the chain or not. Pray for peaceful spirit for me as well as wisdom.
it doesn't help that I am also not feeling well
Jib,
I'll definitely be praying for you. With the Lord in your corner, the enemy hasn't got a prayer! Walk by faith, not by sight.
Praying as well, Jib.
Praying for you too Jib!
Also, please pray for us and our van situation. Needs new transmission, has 178k on it. It will cost 1500 to get fixed or we can get a "new" van for $3000 with our only savings. We are worried it will just keep breaking if we fix it since it is so old and we have repairs every other month. But also concerned about getting new one as it will eat up our money and hubby is not sure if he will have work after this week! Plus, I am stuck at home without means to get to church or my new bible study. Hubby says it may take a few weeks to find the right van! That is the most frustrating part, I want to go to bible study (my little boy loves going to be with other kids) and church (my other little boy loves church service with me and the girls and I need it). Thanks!
Diana
JIB,
You have my prayers and also, pleading for God's protection during this time.
Also, DIANA. Up to a point vans tend to need more tender loving care but then they go, they go. I do know the feeling and so I am joining with the others here in agreement that the fix will be solid and permanent. Read Ecclesiastes 3:14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him." Amen
I have been struggling with some pretty serious eye problems for about the last 3 months and I was worse than the woman begging Jesus for bread to eat. I was in no frame of mind to just accept it and complete the rest of my life with very limited vision. No, I didn't nag God but I was a very present person in the Throne room, guarantee ya.
I posted on my blog that I needed and greatly desired the prayers of everyone that God would intervene and I am here to tell you today, HE DID IT AGAIN!
I got up this morning, my eyes were a little itchy but at least I could get them open. As I started my day I realized that something was happening to change my situation. Instead of those horrible dry eye sockets and very blurred vision, I have very moist eyes and I can see very good. Now I am counting on my Heavenly Father (Abba to me)for a complete healing because Proverbs tells me that what was will be again, that there is nothing new under the sun and all things will be made new. I know I will see perfectly in Heaven, so does my ABBA, and so, instead of waiting for the trumpet call for my renewed, restored vision, I am expecting today. The promises of God in scripture are for us on this earth because our heavenly needs are already done and sealed for eternity.
Diana, where do you want your van delivered to?
Grany
Grany, praise Him for your eyesight! That is wonderful news. Thanks for your prayers and the bible verse too! The van that is in its death grip was actually given to us. We lived in Virginia for a few years and my husband worked for a wonderful Christian man and his wife doing kitchen remodeling. When we found out that we were having our 4th child they gave us their 5 year old van with only 52k miles on it because our vehicle did not have enough room for the baby! They surprised us with it one Sunday afternoon. He also gave Steve one of the company trucks when we moved back to Illinois. The woman I was a nanny for gave me a computer plus $1500 just to help with baby and the move! We were so incredibly taken care of, and we did not ask for any of this stuff!!! We just believed that the Lord would care for us, and boy did He ever. I do have many regrets about moving back to Illinois and leaving those friends (really family) behind. Feel like we should have stayed but the Lord is still caring for us even though I am pretty sure He told us to stay there.
Diana
Praying as well, Diana.
New post is up.
