I haven't posted here in a while but I stop by sometimes and think about you guys often.
I just wanted to let you know (for those veterans of Joel Rosenberg's old blog) that Betty Wentz (aka Child of the King) passed away last night from pneumonia amongst other problems.
I know that we who have been friends with her over the years feel like we have lost a member of our family....see was our Gramma Child.
A tremendous woman of God. Now a worthy saint in heaven.

I can't wait to be out of here (satan's domain) & with everyone in the Lord's presense. What a day that will be & something we all look forward to.
Currently we are in the midst of Bible Prophecy unfolding quicker all the time. The more the Lord reveals about "this system" compared to "God's Holiness & His true ways" the more alienated we feel here & I'm feeling pretty "out of this world" as it is.
Now Child of the King can rest from all of this. Hallelujah!

All I can say about that video you posted is WOW! I had no idea that deception was so complete. They have an answer for everything and they believe what their demon spirits tell them completely. She said that all with a straight face (well almost,except for at the begining).

I just have to share something here with the rest of you. As you all know, I live in the beautiful part of Oklahoma and we can have some winter periods here just the same as everyone else has. They don't last long but when they happen it can get pretty cold.
Last years great abundance of snow was really pretty and I enjoyed it for the first few days but then we kept getting more snow over a period of time. Not the long periods but longer than we are accustomed to. And in the process, there were days and plenty of nights that the chill was always hanging around. A quick trip to the bathroom was exactly that, Quick!
So, this year I started planning on what source of auxiliary heating could I get to help eliminate that problem, especially for my DJH. My son is a dealer in EdenPure space heaters and I have experienced the wonderful constant comfort that they produce and made arrangements to get one of the units. Our house is a ranch style home and pretty good size. So, if the south end of the house is comfortable I would want the north end to be the same and started checking around for another EdenPure. Found the news model and started to contact my son to see if he could get me another one.
Now this is kinda spooky but I am going to share it anyway. As I started to call him, I felt kinda sleepy and decided to wait until after I took a nap. Just about the time I dozed off, I heard inside of me, "you don't need a second one". Nap time was wonderful but when I woke up, I still wanted to try the new unit. The second time I heard the same thing inside of me and then I knew it wasn't my imagination.
So, being a woman and wanting to know why I wouldn't need another one, I started asking questions and looking for answers. Each time, I heard the same thing until I finally just said, "Heavenly Father, are you the author of that statement or is it just me?". Without a doubt I know that it was not just me because I really do want to get 2 units and cut down on the cost of natural gas heat, plus make our home much more comfortable for both of us.
As it stands right now, I know I don't need the second unit and now, wondrously, I don't want a second one. Do you ever think that God doesn't talk to you because you have been told that? Well, if you are thinking that, STOP IT! God has always talked to man/woman because that is the main reason he created us. Jesus promised us that when the Holy Spirit came upon us, he would be our counselor, guide, best friend and communicator of things God desires us to know.

Just yesterday I had an unusual experience.
At the 1st of the year I had a burden to go to the girl's school & encourage them to take a look at what the kids are getting themselves into in regards to occult books,movies,video,...
entertainment.
I researched the info & had a stack of articles/videos to look at if they wanted to. After 6 months (I'm a big chicken in person- pretty brave via email-lol!) I sent an email to the Principle & he promised to forward it to the Director. Ends up I never heard another peep about it. The burden was gone so I dropped it. (Wait on the Lord, right.)
I volunteered @ the Church's pumpkin patch & got to chat w/the Pastor who is the head of Children's ministry @ the Church. We talked Bible Prophecy the whole time but ends up I sent him an email telling him that new Skip Heitzig DVD- "Shattered" would be a great resource for the kid's ministry there on the occult topic.
One thing leads to another & he was actually interested in looking at all the info I had collected. I told him I would drop it by the Church office & leave it w/the receptionist.
So yesterday I show up to drop it off before I pick the kids up from school & it looks kind of vacant. There was a Samaritan's shoebox leaning against the wall outside the doors.
I look closely at the hours & it says "Open Thursday" so I go right inside & discover no one is around. I leave the info anyway for the Pastor & go back outside. I figure the Samaritan's shoebox should be put inside too in case it got wet or something but when I went to open the door again it was locked.
Then I see a sign posted on the door which says "Closed for Veterans Day". All the office doors were locked except the one I chose to use. Somehow it didn't lock?...But when I went in &
back out it locked. I was totally flabbergasted but immediately the situation reminded me of Rev.3:7,8
What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
Was this a humorous sign that the School door was shut to the message but He has opened up the Church to hear it?
I guess time will show me won't it?

I read the article on infowars but I am not ready to totally trust it since there are no references to where the writer got their info. I am wondering of it is just speculation. An article may quote people and such but if there is no link then I am leary.
I think that my 16 year old may have mono. Please pray for her. She was doing so well in school so far this year and I was so proud (and she was too) of her initiative to work harder. Now, she is going to be missing and falling behimd in ehr AP classes.

Thanks for praying grany. Test for mono came back neg. We are very surprised cause her neck hurts so bad, lymph nodes are huge and throat very sore. Strep neg. as well. Doc said she just has some sort of virus.

My son went through a similar thing a few months ago (he's 5)...tested for mono and it was negative...glands were huge around his neck and he had a fever, complained of pain (aches? 5 year olds don't know the difference). Dr. said to watch him for another week and if it didn't improve they'd do further testing. But it went away on its own and he's been fine since. Not a fun thing to wait through. He seemed to enjoy alot of freeze pops, though :-)

Lisa, You see the Bible as the authoritative word of God. And it is good that you have found something to secure your life too. I am not going to engage in a debate about who is right and wrong or in who has the most supreme version or teac...hing about some higher universal force. In my opinion this does serve a lower vibrational frequency. The energy of your writing does clearly project an insidious connotation of disunity in the sense that the power of your belief seeks to devalue and undermine the belief systems of others in order to install what you have personally chosen to believe as being the one true God. The Bible is one of many books that are pointing to some cataclysmic event that will inevitably transform the face of the earth. Every civilization that has come and gone have recorded knowledge of events that have happened and events that are to happen again. Many actually predate the scriptures.
I would never seek to devalue the content of the Bible, even though I have some major reservations about the purity of the teachings. I understand that it is a book of history and holds a veritable amount of wisdom, which purveys exceptional insights into the nature of human consciousness. I believe in the power of Jesus, I also believe that each of us also have that same Divine power. Jesus came to empower the people, but was quickly squashed.
There is very little of the jesus teachings contained in the Bible. Words are merely signposts which points to the experience that can lead to inner personal and universal truths. Words can never accurately capture the essence of the Divine and therefore any God that can be defined or encapsulated within a formulation of words and capped as being the tonality of truth, Instantly, alarm bells begin to ring.
I, too, once use to be a born again tounge speaking Christian, and I felt called by the Holy Spirit to evangelize on the streets of London. At the time I was staunchly committed and implicitly believed the Bible as being the only source of Divinely inspired Knowledge. I was also taught that any other book, other than those which were christian in origin where derived from demonic influences. I lived in a commune surrounded by those who also gave up absolutely everything to serve the Christ. I was one of those who would preach and point to scripture for almost every situatuion.

Something happened, though, I began to question the nature of what I believed, which led me on an introspective journey to examine the infrastructre of my beliefs. It was a scary experience to reach the illumination that almost everything I believed paralleled the beliefs of those around me and many of which were constructed through my perosnal indoctrination as well as the indoctrination of those around me into believing in an instituted version of God.
I agree there is only one force of creative energy. Many create wonderful expressions of what this force is, one is no more superior than the other. If one chooses to buy into a fearbound religious belief system, one of great battles and great demonic fights, then of course, one will see other expressed perceptions as being anti God belief.
There is a huge chasm between the mystical aspect of christianty and those who venture to church on sunday mornings preaching and dancing around in worship, while singing in tounges.
It was the mystical aspect of Christianty that opened my eyes to the internal depth, which activated my heart into seeing what is actually happening in terms of these different belief systems we have here on earth.
The exploration through meditation sets one completely free from hinging our lives on any external teaching.
It is so much more liberating to allow everyone to experience whatever beliefs they wish to follow, without feeling the need one has to save the world from eternal damnation or lead those who are on a different path into walking our path. I bless me in you and you in me for we are truly one!

We are getting similar teachings coming out of the very "learned" traditional church academics and again it is the wisdom of man:-( You watch how "the learned" accomodate homosexuality and twist God's word with their wisdom to get around any new teaching that is politicaly correct!

that is really sad. looks like somewhere either New Age or leftist Christianity seeped in. Learned about a new theology being taught in many seminaries these days called process theology. there is a heavy evolutionary influence with it. sounds like a little of that has crept in also
So sad to read, Lisa, but I'm happy to know that you were reaching out to her/him? in the first place and some seed was scattered that may be tended to later on.
I was listening to a message on the topic of falling away from one's faith and the pastor pointed out that we don't really fall away from faith (because she obviously has faith in something, just not Jesus' finished work.) Rather, it's a fall from grace that happens and when we turn back to the law/works we can't receive all the benefits that were purchased for us at the cross. The 2 can't be mixed no matter how it's spun.
My cousin has become heavily involved in yoga (she's an instructor and has her own studio) and I'm praying that someone/something will reach her and show her the emptiness/dead end of her pursuits. I think in her case, she's needs to meet Jesus for the first time.

The books of Timothy have some great scripture warning about people who loose faith.

Jib, do you have any good info on process theology? Sounds like something the Vatican (& others) would support since they want to hang onto creation as well as evolutional "science".
My friend is a micro-biologist & is from a German Anglican background. She's been sold on evolution so it's nothing I argue w/her on.
She started coming to our church lately because they have a better kids program & she confided in my Christian friend that she's having a real internal struggle w/my Church because they actually
"believe" what the Bible says.
(Yesterday we were in the bookstore & she picked up one of those Rose Publishing pamphlets on Evolution & was checking that out before we had to go.)

2 recommendations for you on dealing with your friend-Answers in Genesis is a phenomenal resource in this area. They have quick and dirty pocket resource guides on evolution and such. If you have more time to devote get one of their Answers books.
For a more in depth read about Darwinism and how it is infiltrating and how to deal with it I can't recommend Total Truth by Nancy Pearcy enough. The first section is how we got into a fact values split in our faith vs daily lives-quite eye opening. The next section is on evolution and how is has infiltrated everything. It isn't just an issue in the sciences-you might be shocked as to just how much of an influence evolutionary theory has had in education. Process theology was in this section. The next section of which I have read the next couple of chapters is on the failure of evangelicalism-this has been VERY eye opening to say the least. I for some reason had not realized just how anti establishment evangelicalism was when it first appeared on the scene.

prayers for your dad.
I have a cousin who is an alcoholic dying of bile duct cancer right now. He is so lost. Really sad because his grandparents, my great grandparents, were staunch solid Christians but their kids not so much. Unfortunately Moe was truly horribly abused by his parents growing up and although his sister has come to Christ he has yet to do so. He isn't expected to live more than 6 months to a year but personally I think that is a bit generous.
On that same note of bile duct cancer one of the female deacons at our church is having pretty serious surgery tomorrow for a bile duct cancer. Penny could use your prayers. Her husband is really rocky right now as they are a very close couple. Really solid Christian couple but in a fog at the moment

I Googled Lisa's topic and by goodness, there are a lot of them. So, I started at the top and as I found a few minutes I watched, listened and read. There is one that really caught my attention but now I can't find it again.
I am heading for northern Missouri with my daughter on Sunday evening and would appreciate your prayers. The weather can be pretty fierce but I am asking Abba to clear the clouds, warm the air and let the SON shine like never before to all of the unsaved that we come in contact with.
By the way, my prayers are with all of you for this upcoming Thanksgiving and may we all really give Thanks to our heavenly Father for all of the blessings He has given to all of us.
Big problem with the Aleph Tav is that it implies with it's quoting of Gen 1:1 that Christ is a created being and not eternal.
other problem-Christ in the OT is not hidden. there are hundreds of prophecies which are there for any one to see about Christ. In point of fact if you want to witness to a Jew about Christ you need to be able to do so solely from the OT and according to Frucht and history it can be and was done. There don't have to be any hidden anythings. When Christ was talking about how he was written about in the OT it was the prophecies He was talking about.
and if you read one of the comments from below the video from a Hebrew speaker
"Aleph tav is used to designate that the following word is the definite direct object of the verb. Alef tav is foundational to the grammar of the Hebrew language as 'a' (anticedant) and 'the' (definite object) are in English. Alef tav is not hidden at all!!"

Wanted to let you all know that we are expecting our 5th child in June! Very excited :) But this has put a rift between my mom and I as she has never been happy when I have been expecting (very negative towards haveing more children even though she is a Christian, passed down from her own mom). I had to e-mail my folks with the news as to avoid sarcastic remarks! Dad is happy for us though.
Also, due to many issues, my hubby will not even speak to my dad any longer. This is very sad. Please pray for a softened heart for my hubby!

another prayer request
my brother was fired from his job today. all the insurance for he and his family was through this job, they have no real savings to speak of and he is a teacher to boot. We would really love for him to get hired by a traditional school so that he could have summers to complete his master's degree. they really didn't need this to happen and certainly not before the holidays-how rude. he has looked into 5 jobs already and will be signing up for sub jobs.

great news on Penny's surgery. she is doing quite well and the surgeons didn't have to do nearly as much as they had planned plus she only lost about 15% of her liver. Plus the surgeons think they got all the cancer! she will probably still need chemo but this is fabulous

Just a heads up for anyone who might be commenting on my current status (Lisa, jib so far)... my friend Scott posted a few things that might stir the pot a bit but I wanted to let you know that I've actually been praying for him for awhile and am looking for an opening to start a conversation with him if the Lord provides the opportunity. I went to hs with him and hadn't been in touch til a few months ago when he friended me, though I'd been praying for him long before that. I get the sense that he plays a passive/aggressive card when commenting on stuff and I know that he has moved away from God and into academia/head knowledge since college, so he likely enjoys a debate that goes in circles.
Anyway, right now I'm trying to be honey for the fly in case his heart's open to hearing about God's love for him. Anyway, just wanted to mention that in case someone was tempted to respond. Thanks!

I could really use some godly advice. I have two step-brothers. The firstborn step-brother has invited us to his house for Thanksgiving. Among other family members, the secondborn step-brother will be there as well. He is gay and will be bringing his partner who he refers to as his "husband." Because of geographic distance, my 4 year old son has not been around this situation. How should I handle it if my step-brother and his "husband" have public displays of affetion or anything else that would create confusion in my boy's mind?
1 Corinthians 5 says we are to judge and not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral. At one time, this brother did claim to be a brother in Christ. He struggled much of his early years with homosexuality and drugs. Then left both of those for many years and attended church and read the Bible. Then, about 5 years ago, returned to the homosexual life.

Dear Brother, I deal with this issue myself and have for a number of years. I don't want to give out details, but I would be happy to communicate by email or facebook message (though I still don't quite know how that works).
But, generally, I have decided to show love to the "offending family" as much as possible. The two adults know my Christian faith and where I stand on the issue of homosexuality. I am waiting for the day that my grandchildren will ask me about it and I am trusting God to give me the words I need.
I mean, I don't want to give out details publicly.

Thanksgiving is a one-of situation so I don't think you're "associating".

Greetings from Sunny and warm northern Missouri. Before we started north out of Oklahoma, my daughter told me the weather forecasts were not very good for our stay in north country. So, guess what I hooked her into doing....yep, agreeing in prayer that our weather the whole time is great, completely nonthreatening and no snow/ice. Today was supposed to be a cold nasty mess but instead, the sun is shining, the sky is beautiful blue, white clouds are minue any threat of snow and the rest of the week has great forecasting.
Thank you all for your prayers and we had a great trip all of the way. I can never thank our Abba enough for his great blessings and how He continually answers our prayers. There is great power in agreeing prayer and I thank you all again.

JIB, great insight into the Aleph Tav topic. One reason I love these discussion is the input that really clears the junk out. There are all kinds of ideas floating around, but I take the expertise of the Frucht on this one too. But it really did get me into checking it all out. I will have more time now that I have some open spots to do some checking, it is a good subject.
Cave Brother, love the sinner but not the sin. Let your light shine but give no ground to the devil in the least. If the display is even thought to come about, put a stop to it. They know how you feel, what the consensus is and testing the limits can be resolved right then and there.
We have all had to learn to stand our ground, shun evil and don't sit with scoffers.

On another topic, I have a brother who happens to be gay and I love him very much. I would never dream of ostracizing him in any way, shape or form.
Please, friends. I am scared here. My husband has no work lined up, he is a carpenter (self employed). This has happened before and the Lord has always provided. I am just a little over the top right now due to pregnancy. We have both prayed to the Lord for work to be provided for him. But, really, I feel very tense.

Hey Hun, there is so much to catch up on already...
We got to the airport this morning only to find our flight cancelled due to plane problems. We thought "what will we do all day?" But God knew. We took Helman and Rosalba grocery shopping and the guys really blessed them in a big way, and then we went to the indigenous training center so Helman could share our vision with all of my traveling pastors. God moved on us in a powerful way.The prayer time was incredible.
I never knew that Helman has been taken captive by the guerillas 4 times, or that once he was poisoned by a witchdoctor. The witchdoctor asked, after inconspicously giving him the poison, "when do you plan to visit us again?¨Helman told him in about 4 years. Of course, he never thought he would see him again...he fully expected him to die. Helman forgot what he had said, but the Lord led him back to that village 4 years later. The witchdoctor was shocked. There was a serious rash sweeping over the children of the village at that time, and as Helman prayed, they began to be healed. Soon the witchdoctor was telling him the whole poison story and confessed, "now I know your God is more powerful than mine..." The church of Jesus Christ is now alive and well there.
What a joy to see two of our kids, William and Jin, tonite at dinner. They are heroes, and as they shared their tribal church planting stories and vision for three totally unreached Amazon tribes, our ministry here took on a new reality with my friends. The prophetic prayers were so confirming and comforting. I sense God getting us ready for something big...

pray pray pray for wisdom and that God would be at work in the situation. having said that I think you are well within your rights as the parent of a young child to request of them ahead of time no pda while the child is around. I would just nicely explain that you aren't really ready to have that conversation with your child at this point in time because of his age

But of course also want to protect my son from confusion and unnatural relationship modeling. Unfortunately, he already was briefly exposed when an ad for an ABC sitcom (Modern Family) was on TV and it showed two men kissing.

First, a very big hug and congratulations going your way for the wonderful news of the new baby. What a wonderful reason to give thanks this week!
Second, prayers going up for all these requests. Some I can't relate to in my own life (a family member who is gay) but others I can relate to very well (financial strains and unknowns.) But in both, I am filled with so much encouragement as I turn my thoughts to Jesus and remember how He delivered everyone who called on Him. The Scriptures don't give us one example of a need that He let slip by and we know that there are just a small portion of His rescues recorded in the NT. (John 21:25)
For our brother with the young child, this is also a concern for me with my 5-year olds. But don't let a drop of worry find rest in your heart. You can walk confidently into the family gathering and know that God is well able to protect your son's eyes and mind. Ask God to fill him that day with only the things that He wants your child to know and perceive and then enjoy the day, knowing that it is God's good pleasure to supply what you cannot provide. What a blessing you'll be bringing, too, as you deliver Jesus' love and peace into the house, rather than the elements of fear, worry, suspicion and dread.

Diana, my parents were in your shoes when I was younger. My dad had his own manufacturing business and it was doing well until a lawsuit was filed against it and over a few years, every penny he earned had to go toward the defense costs. In the end (the year before I went to college), he declared bankruptcy in an effort to save our home which had been put up as collateral for the initial loans. I was old enough by then to understand the vastness of the situation and how everything was really out of my dad’s control. But God intervened in amazing ways with another job offer (that was unsolicited by my dad….out of the blue) and a miracle of mountain-moving proportions. Our farm had been coal mined 10 years earlier and some of that money had been used to start the business. After the bankruptcy, my dad went back to the mining company to see if they wanted to try deep-mining for other veins but that would make the house uninhabitable since the water tables would be broken and explosives would be used (before, it was surface mined and we lived there while the mining was going on). When they did the test drills, they found another surface vein that hadn’t been discovered before. After it was removed, the money we received from it was enough to pay off all the bankruptcy costs, outstanding loans and still leave enough money for my parents to build a new house mortgage-free. That was 15 years ago now and I recall it often when I’m struggling in my own life to believe that God will come through with needed provision. But I know that worry chokes off my ability to imagine and remember God’s past rescues. No wonder Jesus tells us not to worry! The devil loves to throw it in our pathway to confuse and weigh us down, hoping that we’ll stop trusting and turn to our own resources and plans. So let’s imagine and remember! From which storehouse will God send our provision today? He has thousands, you know! What story will we be sharing with our children someday to teach them about God’s faithfulness? He’s the author of life and He loves a good story! I don’t want to diminish the situations that we’re all facing. I know they’re real and serious and bigger than us. But when we remember that God is greater than anything that comes against us and He’s for us, we can face those struggles with a David and Goliath confidence and know that we’re going to be celebrating victory soon!
OK, just had to get these words out there because keeping encouragement to myself is very difficult!

Jen, no worries about Scott. It doesn't take long to figure out which FB friends are coming from a Christ centered perspective and who aren't. Most of my FB friends are Christian but 1/4 of them are long time friends/childhood/high school friends & are lost.
One of my FB friends is a complete New Ager but likes Christians. I hold out hope for him but his friends drive me nuts. Were talking major "Christ-conscientiousness" stuff here. (Like that one reply I posted.)
This Thanksgiving weekend we have a house guest- a friend/client of D.H. who is an old time Italian. Not that he was a mob guy but it's somehow connected in his family line.
The guy is a real character. He’s 78& his wife died a year+ ago. He started investing in real estate @ the age of 18 & has made $$$.
We currently have his Royal's Royce parked in our driveway & he has a Mazaratti & Ferrari back @ home.
He wanted a drink but we didn't have any Gin so he said he had some. (so I thought he bought a bottle @ Vons.) The next thing you know he comes in w/a little suit case.
He opens it up & there is actually a mini-bar in it w/3 full sized bottles of liquor. (Who in the world carries something like that around.....huh????)
Anyway- he's having fun w/the kids but it's so sad to see how spiritually lost he is. Everything has been tied up in his ability to write a check & have $$$. He wears what I'm sure is a huge Rolex, w/gold nugget bracelets & gold rings w/diamonds.
Lorraine & I were going over her spelling B words waiting for dinner & he mentioned that he had a great childhood but his parents worked FT so they didn't do that w/him & he was never a good speller. But......He can write out a check for a million bucks.
Oye Vey! No wonder it's so hard for wealthy people to find the Lord. So self-sufficient. Yet at the same time there is a pain in them they don't know how to resolve.
Here we are before them w/the answer but will they have "ears to hear"?

No, nothing permanent. A hacker got into one of our Web master's servers and knocked out a bunch of ministries -- including ours. She's hoping to have us back up tonight. They've been working like dogs to get everybody (Mike Gendron, Caryl Matrisciana, Ken Silva -- for example, along with Jan -- an my own blog) back up.
The silver lining is that that they have one engineer on their team that wasn't saved. After watching how this hacker consistently and relentlessly attacked this server like he'd never seen before, in a meeting with our Web master's husband, the man accepted Christ as his Savior. Take that, enemy of our souls!
That was worth the hacking Mr.Hyde!
We also had two additional guests over for dinner. Our horse trainer friend & a friend of hers named Ruth. (Who I hadn't met before.)
I'm in the kitchen & Lorraine comes bounding in & tapping on my hip- saying "reincarnation, reincarnation, reincarnation".
I looked at her in the midst of busy cooking and said what? Reincarnation? What about it? "They're talking about reincarnation-turning from one thing into another!"
Bill comes up then so I said- go into the family room & see what's going on. (back up artillery) I could hardly stand it so I left my veges cooking on the stove wondering if they'll be left on there too long & get burned. (my usual)
So as they are chatting how Christians literally believe the Bible was not written by men's interpretations- sort of downgrading the idea that its fully God's inspired word- I spoke up & said "Well I also happen to be one of those Christians".
So we had some chit chat & then I brought up how much I enjoy Bible Prophecy & then we got to talk about what are the "signs" the Bible mentions occurs before Jesus returns & Bill brought up Ezekiel 38/39 & Israel back in their land.
The one thing we could all agree upon is that we are witnessing most of these "signs" right now.
I sent Ruth off w/a short Prophecy book & I plan to give the horse trainer "Unlocking God's Secrets". She's read the Bible a few times & remembers the stories but it just didn't "click" w/her to have more to offer than some good life lessons.
Our Italian guest- well he over heard most of the conversation & clearly didn't want to get involved. He sort of mocked Bill over his "prayer" before dinner & said he should consider this as a new vocation.
Anyway, this Thanksgiving turned out even more simulating than I had imaged. It was more like Thanksgiving/Spiritual Warfare 101.
Not in a bad way - but just different being w/people who don't know Christ & have various worldly perspectives.
Lorraine outright battled the idea Ruth had for her that Harry Potter books/movies are just fantasy & that White "good" Witches are O.K.
Lorraine leaned forward & looked her straight in the eye & said "It still has the word "WITCH" in it. That's not ok." You should have seen her- she was not to be moved by Ruth's reasoning what-so-ever.
* On another note a really neat thing happened. One of my online Missionary contacts in Africa really wanted a Bible. So eventually I got one shipped off to him & also sent the "Jesus" DVD in his local languages & format.
He just wrote back & told me he's poor & doesn't have much but so far he's made 50 copies of that Jesus DVD for other people in his vicinity in their local dialects.
Watching how God works through human vessels is truly amazing!

We pray you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Your prayers for Randy and the 4 men as they went to Colombia are greatly appreciated, Thank You! Here's another update from Randy:
Hey Bec, we finally got on our plane at 9 am. It was a cargo plane with 18 passengers sitting along the walls like paratroopers. We thought we actually saw a stewardess come through, but it was the pilot! All the guys joked about getting their picture taken with her, but only one did (it wasn´t me....).
Our flight was rough and we were happy when our wheels touched down on the little dirt airstrip. Knowing that our indigenous planters were traveling by canoe, bicycle, motorbike, and on foot (and some for days) put it all in context.
We opened the conference tonite and I spoke on "the leader´s anointing." We were able to pray over and speak into the life of every leader there. The presence of the Lord was rich and everyone was engaged. As a bonus, two brothers, Armando and Jason, showed up that we did not know. As Deysi (my interpreter) and I prayed for them, she sensed they didn´t know the Lord. Now there´s a first at a leader conference...
Sure enough, they had heard the music, wandered in and stayed the whole night. We got to lead them to the Lord, and tomorrow we are going to talk further. This is no accident. They have really met God
We set our tents up on a covered cement slab at a believer´s house due to the big rains. Very hard and hot but very dry (as long as the water does not rise)...

Greetings, fellow carbon-based life forms. First of all, forget everything you've heard or read about S.510 Food Safety Modernization Act. The bill was originally introduced in February of 2009. It looked like it was going to die a slow death in committee because of all the outrageous requirements; however, after the salmonella-infected egg outbreak, it was resurrected and given a whole new body. I mean they stripped EVERYTHING out after the heading and introductory sentences, and put a whole new bill there with the old number. So any information you're getting that is earlier than July of this year is most likely wrong. (I've already been tripped up on that.)
This is the bill that people were saying that it would make it illegal to have your own garden in your backyard. That is wrong. Gardens and farms for personal use only are exempt from this act. However, the minute you toss your neighbor one of your very delicious heirloom tomatoes, or if you bring extra zucchini in to share with the people at work, you MAY have crossed the line and joined Community Service Agriculture. This puts you in the same class as farmers markets and those roadside stands that sell corn in August. This means you need to pay a $500 filing fee and make sure all your records regarding your operation are available for inspection at any time. No telling what's involved if you cook something with your produce and bring it in to your company pot luck. On one board someone asked what's going to happen to the small beekeepers. No one could answer her question. More on that in a minute.

If you look at the bill (http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-s510/text), you'll see that the word "seed" is never used. What words ARE used are "harvesting" and "storing". The FDA defines "seed" as "food", so "harvesting and storing" don't just cover the corn and tomatoes; it covers the seeds from the corn and tomatoes. And if your seed cleaning and storage facilities don't match FDA "minimum levels of safety", then too bad. (I wonder if the feed seed that the cows eat will have to meet these minimum levels of safety.)

Remember the beekeeper who couldn't get an answer? You may note that I've been using "may" and "can" a lot. That's because the actual definitions that will answer a lot of these questions are being left up to an "Administrator" that will be appointed within the year -- think "Food Czar". So the actual size of the hammer that's going to fall will depend on who gets appointed (you can bet Congress won't be involved) to this "Administrator" position.
The whole point to all of this is that the government wants perfect traceability of food so that if the Administrator thinks there may be a possibility that contaminated food has entered the system, the Administrator will be able to order specific areas to be shut down. They'll know who to shut down because if the Administrator suspects you, a warrant-less search can be done of your business, house, etc. in order to examine your records of who's eaten your food. Note that "reasonable cause" is not necessary, a case does not have to be made before a judge, they can just come in and look based on someone's "suspicion."
Here's a good blog that explains some of the issues at stake: Seeds – How to criminalize them. Note that this is old, and some of the provisions quoted have been re-written. However, the basics still remain: "harvesting" and "storing" are mentioned in the bill, "seeds" are not, even if that's what they're regulating.
Right now, you need to go to http://www.senate.gov/, go to the upper right corner, and find your senators. Then tell them they need to vote against this act. It was voted out of committee just before the Thanksgiving recess and may come up for a full Senate vote as early as today (Mon. Nov. 29).

So you can grow your own gardens in the revised bill but you can't give any produce away or sell it. You also have to "store" the food/seed properly?
Lisa, the bill doesn't outlaw backyard gardens per se. If you're growing for your own consumption, that's OK. But if you sell or even give your produce away (like bringing in your extra tomatoes or zucchini to work), then you're classified as "Community Service Agriculture" (CSA) and you'll have to pay a $500 licensing fee and make your records regarding your operation available for inspection at any time without warning.
And it doesn't outlaw keeping your heritage non-GMO seeds, either -- per se. The FDA classifies "seeds" as "food", and so can establish minimum storage standards for your seeds. If you're just collecting seeds and keeping them to plant next year and they're not being stored "properly", then too bad.

Or what if I cook my own grown food and then have guests over for dinner? Or my neighbor who raises beef cattle invites me over for a cook out? And can I raise chickens in my backyard? (That's a serious question...I'm all but ready to buy the coop next spring, whether or not Bob likes it!)
Lisa, you should know that I've been following the "tiny house movement" for some time. I don't think I could ever live in something that small on a permanent basis. I've determined that my minimum space requirements are around 800 square feet -- 400 square feet above ground and 400 sf in the basement. After growing up in Tornado Alley, I don't ever want to live in a house without a basement.
The problem with tiny or small houses is that they are what you need if all you need is a place to eat and sleep. If you have any kind of hobby, you're going to be hard-pressed to find any room in them to do it. For example, I've begun making soap, which does not need a lot of space. Even so, I don't think I'd have the counter space necessary to make even the smallest soap batch, especially not in one of those houses on a trailer that are about 100sf.
This issue has been discussed on the boards I frequent, and the consensus is to build extra buildings if you need to expand. IOW, not only build a garage with a workshop, but build an extra "storage shed", etc. The problem comes if you try to build extra sleeping buildings, because if they get larger than a certain size your lot may become a "compound" which is a whole different set of zoning rules.
I recommend the blog "Shelter: how we live". This is a blog that was launched by the Touchstones Nelson gallery in Nelson, British Columbia, to promote the above-mentioned exhibit. The blog has been so successful they're going to keep running it even though the exhibit is ended. One thing that made it so popular was a competition called "10 Squared". The goal was to design a living space that was no more than 10 meters by 10 meters, with a maximum height of 4 meters. Some of the entries sucked. Some were good. Some were really, really good. I really liked the winner of the juried competition, and if I win Publisher's Clearing House I might try to get a few of those built here. The other favorite of mine was by a guy named Andy Sheldon, because I like his other designs.

Jen, a lot of the questions like that won't be answered until they've appointed an Administrator. The goal of the law is to provide perfect traceability of the food chain in case there's any food-borne illness. (Even though all the salmonella outbreaks in the past 10 years have come large processors or imported food, not from locally-grown or organic sources.)

My mom "forced" me to do the turkey and stuffing this year and as I was rinsing out the raw bird in my sink, I kept wanting to squirt it with Purell and slather it all over my countertops, too. Which is funny because I grew up on a farm where we routinely butchered the laying hens once they were done laying and it was not uncommon to walk into our kitchen to see my mom up to her elbows in chicken parts with those same hands working on the stove making dinner. She didn't think twice about wiping off the counters, rinsing the washcloth and then wiping the dirt off the kids faces when they came in from playing. Just typing that gives me the shivers.

I missed all of you wonderful bloggers and I would probably have had a nicer Thanksgiving memory if I had stayed in Okieland. However, I got back from yesterday afternoon from traveling to northern Missouri to spend the holiday with my son, daughter, grand and great grand kids, and friends. That is a very long and incorrectly composed sentence but I is tired to the core.
The weather stayed wonderful sans snow, ice, rain and all kinds of storms except humanbeing kind. I haven't checked the comments but does anyone else sense the heat is being turned up on all of us as believers? I mean really turned up on constant prebake setting.
Well, anyway, it seems the mice in Washington DC are determined to go out as one of the most disrespected Congresses/Senators in the history of this nation. I figure we still have an edge though. There are way too many of us that want to plant our own food minus the poisonous chemical altered so how are they going to keep checking. Go do your gardening in the dark of night, make sure no satellites are transversing your horizon and water in the same manner. If you run out of protection, add on to your house, plastic sheeting style and become covert farmers and gardeners.

Dr. Previn Togadi, influential anti-Christian spokesman, speaks out most vehemently against the Christian witness in India. He says the very presence of the Christian community is "cultural AIDS."

Dr. Togadi is incensed at such happenings. He states that it is going to destroy the multiple religions of India. It could get such a hold that the present-day India religious world would wobble out of its timely influence. He wants the status quo to remain. Dr. Togati considers any Christian witness to be taking full advantage particularly of the poor and ignorant. They are open prey to the Christian evangelists.
The reason for the rejoicing is that, as the author points out at the end of the article, the number of Christians in Dr. Togati's state is 0.5% of the population. Consider the power of the Gospel when the presence of only 0.5% can cause such a terrified reaction!

Hi,
Just thought I'd let you all know that my father passed away yesterday afternoon right before 4. I spent the last 2weeks atthe hospice facility he was moved to, and it was an amazing, humbling experience, to say the least.
I was with him holding his hand at the time.
2 ministers prayed for him, I wound up witnessing and discussing Christ and heaven several times.
At the end his eyes were wide open looking up in amazement and it looked like his head and upper chest were being lifted up.
So of course it might have been physical due to his breathing, but then again maybe not!
So thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!

You have my heart felt condolences and I so do know how you feel. Losing our parents and loved ones is always a major event in our lives. But, you have to know something that I learned years ago and also, confirmed to me by a Hospice worker that attended my mother.
The passing of a true born again Believer is quite different than that of an unsaved person. There is no peace for the unsaved and as the moment of their exit from earth draws closer and closer, the torment becomes evident.
So, give thanks to a wonderful Grace giving and Loving Abba because he answers the prayers you have offered up. combine that with all of the others who agreed with you in prayer. Take comfort in knowing He hears and he does answer those prayers.

You will come through this trial and with all of the huffing going on in the country over the funds, I wouldn't be a bit surprised that some emergency measure will be taken up and passed. So, don't give up hope and JIM, it is not the end of the story by a long shot.

Oh Donna, I'm so sorry for your loss but so thankful for the wonderful last few days you had with your dad and all the conversations you surrounded him with in those hours. I think there is every reason to confident that he was being lifted into God's arms in those last moments. God is just so loving and good and we don't know what takes place in those last moments, in the heart and in the mind. No need to turn our thoughts toward anything other than the heart of God for all creation. Have a peace-filled and restful season and know that we all love you and are praying for you!

Grany, I was thinking the same thing, about the testimonies of health care workers because my mom has worked at a nursing home for almost 20 years and she has been with many people who have passed in terror and great distress, to the point of them almost needing to be sedated. Others go with complete peace and a quietness about them that brings everyone in the room a sense of wonder and even joy. She says that it's evident that it has to do with where they are preparing to go.
Donna, Our pastor just mentioned this topic Sunday. It's a good sermon on Prayer if anyone is interested Confidence in Prayer That's a extra special blessing you got to hold his hand as he left this world. My dad died around 3am & I was w/my mom @ home trying to comfort her because we were just waiting for "the call" that could come at any time. The nurse said he was peaceful too.
I can't wait until everyone is 'raised' again! What an awesome truth & hope we have in Christ.

Talk about psyops. If you can't get the people to eat your dangerous, unwanted frankenfoods, just lie and say the Pope approves it. On November 30, the magazine, New Scientist, published "Vatican scientists urge support for engineered crops," which the Vatican immediately denied.
"The Vatican did not endorse an 11-page final statement in favor of easing restrictions on and allowing more widespread use of genetically modified crops, especially in poorer nations," a Vatican official said in a statement published by Catholic News Service.
In fact, "the Vatican has never taken a formal position supporting or opposing genetically modified foods," reported CNS.

Donnya-my condolences to you on the passing of your father. Anything is possible even perhaps when they are unaware. my mother read scripture passages to my sister in law's mother as she lay dying/comatose and yet she appeared to be somewhat responsive to the reading so my mother is very certain that she responded positively even though we have no way of really knowing this side of life.
