And before I forget (too late!) ...

A few days ago Spirit Daily published for your discernment the third part of what's come to be called "The 1990 Prophecy":

New Prediction Is Granted To Receiver Of Alleged 1990 Or 'Tower Of Light' Prophecy

In it, three lines stood out to me:

Only those in union with God will be able to see in the darkness which so many expected and that already is upon the earth. New Mexico I have ordained as a beacon of light and also the place near the water where the cross stands. In this time, expect the error of premature expectation, but not [error in] the truth of the expectation itself.

Since that was printed, there have been two articles speculating on "New Mexico" and "the place near the water where the cross stands." (See Alleged Prophecy: Does It Imply Spiritual Refuge In New Mexico And Mystery Locale? and Reference To 'Beacon Of Light' In New Mexico Brings To Fore Old 'Miraculous' Spot) I'll tell you one thing: I had NO idea there were so many large crosses in America, especially ones near water! There's also some very mysterious things going on in New Mexico, things that almost make me think of how the early Christians would build churches on top of old pagan altars in order to purify and reclaim the land for God.

Anyway, I though some of you might be interested in that, particularly if you were planning any trips through New Mexico.

Thanks Grany for the prayers for my mom. Her name is Mary. The testimony of your D.H. does give me some hope.

Jim C.

I'm just thinking from Biblical examples are there any where the Lord told His people to rebuild over pagan sites? It always seemed that God cursed the land in many instances never to be built on again. Only the vultures & jackals would be around.

Israel was pagan in the past when the Babylonians & Romans took over but originally it was dedicated to God & given over to their enemies for judgment. The it was restored.

Great Grany 5 said...

LISA,
When God promised the Israelites the Land of MIlk and Honey, it was in the possession of Pagans. One of the reasons he sent them with the orders to rid the land of them. So, building had to be done on the land that the Pagans had inhabited previously. Prior to Moses I don't recall God instructing Abraham to do any thing like that. But the land had to be purified and dedicated to God beforehand.

Good question.

Didn't we recently read/discuss an article about the people in northern Uganda doing just that to overcome the evil from witchcraft in their area? I'll see if I can find it.

jim.carroll said...

Lisa;

What Grany said.

Plus, there is a difference between G_D commanded the Israelites to do and what Jesus commanded His followers to do. G_D commanded the Israelites to keep themselves pure and to prepare HIS land (the land of Israel) for them to live in. We don't see many instances of Israelites overtaking pagan altars, etc. (Gideon is a notable exception) because it seems every time the Israelites got involved with some pagan group, they fell away from the Lord. The Israelites were not commanded to convert people.

Jesus, on the other hand, commanded us to "make disciples of all nations." By extension, that would mean "making disciples" of all the land and sea, also, dedicating it to G_D's use. Considering the percentage of the population that made its living solely off the earth, it stands to reason that converting the people would also mean converting the land, from land dedicated to pagan entities to land dedicated to G_D. The alternative would be to abandon land that, once used for evil, could NEVER be reclaimed for G_D's use.

P.S. Praying for your Mom.

P.P.S I believe "vultures and jackals" refers just to Kedar, i.e., present-day Saudi Arabia. Grany would know more about that, though.

Great Grany 5 said...

JIM C>
Do you mean something LIKE THIS?

If not, what exactly are you saying. Vultures are a part of the prophecy regarding Ez. 38 and 39 and I am sure there are other references to them. Otherwise, don't have a clue.

Then there is the statement that there is a difference between what God commanded the Israelites to do and what Jesus commanded us to do. Jesus told us to love one another but first God. God told the Jews to go in and kill the pagans. What the people had a hard time getting past was the garlic/leeks menu and being of a slave mentality.

Jesus calls us all to be brothers and sister in HIM, and to treat each other as equal without prejudice. We are not called to be killers anymore but doers of the Word of God. We haven't done a very good job of it anymore than the Israelites did. The ones they were to destroy are the ones that are trying to destroy them now.

The ones we haven't loved and treated as brothers and sisters in Christ are the ones we are dealing with daily. It is all really a mind/heart matter that requires submission to God's Word.

Considering that, nothing has changed much.

Have a great day everyone and yes, I love you all just as Christ has loved me.

jim.carroll said...

Grany, years ago you forwarded to me something from Ariel Ministries called "Arab States in Prophecy", dealing with the prophetic outcomes of different modern Arab states. Here's what it has to say about Saudi Arabia:

E. Saudi Arabia (Keder and Hazor)
Peace will come between Israel and Saudi Arabia by means of destruction according to Jeremiah 49:28-33. The passage describes the total devastation of Saudi Arabia by war until the inhabitants are scattered and dispersed all over the world. As for the land itself, Jeremiah 49:33 states: And Hazor shall be a dwelling-place of jackals, a desolation for ever: no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man sojourn therein. (emphasis added) Saudi Arabia’s desolation will last for all of the one thousand years of the Messianic Kingdom.

OH, JIM C.
I totally forgot that one. Now I am going to go retrieve that article and read it and read it again. Thank you for sharing it here and also, for jogging my memory.

After I wrote my previous reply I got to thinking about an article that I posted on Joel's blog regarding the regathering of the vultures and eagles in the area where the battle is supposed to take place. Of all the articles that I have posted, that one just gave me the creeps and several others too, I might add.

Due to the fact that the article was saved on my older computer, I no longer have it and no matter how I have tried to retrieve it, I can't find it.

So, now the mystery is solved and also, I am really happy that you saved the discussion from Dr. Fruchtenbaum (Ariel Ministry). If memory serves me right (huh?) or should I say DAH! Most of those articles are now free for the download into PDF form at www.ariel.org

I agree with your take on Israel, Jib. The job was given to Israel first then to the Church. But the Israel will finish the job after the Church has gone.

BTW, if you could all take some time to pray for Alesia. She's had the worst luck with sickness. She's been home the last couple of days and it takes a lot to get her down.

Great Grany 5 said...

Adding my prayers to yours for Alesia and all the other prayers on the previous posting.

Yes, Israel was to be the light shining in a world of darkness but did you know that jealousy was to play a part in it also. I can't tell you the book, chapter or verse but one of the reasons that God established the 7th year Jubilee was to bring attention to how God was blessing Israel. By observing the mandate of no labor, no crops, no interest rates, etc. but still the Jews would be greatly blessed purely by the One True God. But the Jews never did observe that mandate. They never once observed anything but the ceremony part. The reason they were taken into captivity was their rebellion against the observances of no labor, no crops, etc. but only living the whole year learning and being close to God.

I know that part is in Daniel, especially and I believe Jeremiah has some of it also. But the Jews are no different than the church when it comes to obeying God's commands/Jesus' Commandments. I often wonder if that is the reason that Israel is the Wife of Jehovah and the Church is the Bride of Christ.

I am still puzzled about that one.

If any of you recall a few of my posts a while back about my health and symptoms of MS? I have seen a nuerologist and he does not think it is MS but fibromyalgia. My oldest daughter has that but, thanks be to the Lord, not as bad as what I am experiencing. I also believe it to be fibromyalgia due to my crazy symptoms. I won't take medication for it though, only vitamins and light excersice and more rest. The rest part is the hard one, I like to do it all and take care of things myself. Perhaps this is the Lord's way of molding me, He allows things to ahppen for a reason. So, I will embrace it and depend on Him even more! Some days are fine but other days ( like today and other cold, dark days)I feel pain all over the place, even the bottom of my feet! crazy stuff. Just wanted you all to know my update and thanks to those who prayed for me!

I am really going to try to post here more often. I am always reading all fo the posts here but only respond once or twice a month! Sorry friends. This is a great place and I so appreciate all of your insights into the Lord and life in general! So, you will "see" more of me here!

I must say, the Lord never stops amazing me. Here is something I never thought that I would experience....

I had almost given up on going to church somewhere. I had become disallusioned by what I had seen in so many places and it did not seem that the Good News was being preached and also the scriptures were not being read in services, only men's long sermons on life today. Anyway, I became depressed about the whole thing and stopped going. I wanted to go somewhere though. Well....next

My husband suggestion that we go to my daughter's friend's church. Kaitlyn is best friends with her ex-boyfriend (first boyfriend. His family attends a Lutheran church in their small town, the next town over from us. It is a ELCA church but I had read the week before that they were voting on leaving due to the ELCA accepting gay clergy. So, we went to the church to visit and Kaitlyn's friend was THRILLED! Now we go (although DH doesn't go even though he suggested it!) every week and I LOVE it there! I am not from this kind of back ground. I had a great A.G. church in Virgina and I am used to that type of church. Anyway, we read scripture, lots of it, every Sunday. The issues that I was struggling with are not found there (I know, no perfect churches that is for sure but I was STARVING for the word)My teens do not zone out, they participate with scripture reading and communion. My boys come to service with me and I explain things to them, they hear the word being read. They can say The Lord's Prayer with all of us. I almost missed last Sunday but Kaitlyn pushed me to get ready so we could go, this from the girl who HATED going to church two months ago.

So...before all of this, I was distraught about my teens not being in church or reading the bible. I tried reading to them and they get that zoned out look and tune me out! I got this in my head "Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of God". This was a few months before all fo this happened with the church. I NEVER in a million years would have thought that I would be going to a Lutheran church or that my children would drag me there!! Praise the Lord, he DOES work in mysterious way!

Last week was very fitting as part of the topic from scripture was 2Timothy 3:14-4:5 since the church is taking its second vote on leaving the ELCA. The pastor gives a short sermon and he is old and wise. I love the older ones because they have lived and seen so much more than the younger! He talked about the disregard for scripture in many churches as getting worse and how men have become lovers of themselves with itching ears.

So...I am just amazed and in awe of the Lord that He is using something (Lutheran church) that I never would have looked into on my own. It is a real blessing

You will be shocked ( or actually maybe not) at the book that I just found on my 13 year old daughter's desk. It is called "Torment". It is part of a series about fallen angels and a special school for "gifted" students called nephilim! The inside book cover even says what these nephilim are, offspring of fallen angels and humans!!!! I grew sick to my stomach as I read the inside book cover. Thanks be to God that I found it while putting her dirty clothes off of the floor and into the hamper. I cleaned her room very well last week and am really keeping at her to keep it that way and if it is a mess then I put all clothes in her hamper so that her sister does not have to live in a mess. Glad that I am doing this cause now I came across that book. She must ahve gotten it from a friend because it is not a library book. She is gone all day but man, I have to have a good discussion with her tonight!

Ok, so lots of posts from me today!!

My DH suggested as a way to deal with the above issue with the book and my daughter was to write down all the scriptures pertaining to the nephilim and why it is a bad idea to emss with such stuff and give it to her to read first and then discuss. Please pray for Victoria, the evil one is trying to entice her away..
Thank you

Diana, here's some stuff:

The Flood was sent not JUST because Man had become so evil. It was turning evil because the Nephillim had spread so much that the bloodline of humans was becoming corrupt. Noah and his family was spared because they were fully and completely human. It was vital for G_D's plan of salvation that there be no hint of anything other than 100% human in Jesus' bloodline. Otherwise, instead of knowing that Jesus is True God AND True Man, the accusation could be made that He was part human and part angel, i.e., Nephillim.

There's nothing directly in Scripture about this, but there are some scholars who think that Goliath was a Nephillim. I think that belief comes from Goliath's description as a giant, and that the Nephillim were supposed to be giants. Even though the original Nephillim and their bloodline was destroyed in the Flood, it's quite likely that the demonic agencies would have tried to recreate it, using the Canaanite people. This might have been linked with the Canaanite worship of Maloch, who required the sacrifice of the first-born male child of a family.

In any case, maybe these examples would help steer your daughter away from these books. My prayers are with you and her.

DIANA,
Great seeing you here again. Will keep you in my prayers for your health and well being. also, for a continued feast at your new found church.

Great news and doesn't it feel great having a church where God's word is proclaimed and believed? I am so happy for you and your family.

LISA,
I agree with Diana regarding the passages you quoted regarding Egypt. It is odd that the required time for an area that has had a nuclear blast to clear is 40 years. That being said, a large number of bible scholars believe that reference in Ez. 29:9 would seem to suggest a nuclear event taking place. But when I read that interpretation, the impression seemed to bounce all over me. God is going to show them WHO and WHAT HE IS ALL ABOUT, so how would a nuclear explosion demonstrate the Greatness of God? I don't think we can put much stock in a nuclear event taking them out but I have seen up close and personal what God managed to do to Sodom and Gomorrah. DEAD SEA! The only thing that inhabits that residue is lots of salt/minerals and floating people.

So, no, I don't believe any of those passages have been fulfilled and truly believe they will be when the prophecy regarding the King of the South comes to attack Israel. When? Soon.

It all revolves around the Temple Mount and you know what is happening in Jerusalem right now. Don't ever forget or be tricked into believing that God will not protect the most precious site in God's City. What has happened in the past regarding that real estate is in the past; we are now living in a evolving new era.

Just my thinking on the subject.

Numbers 13:33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

The "sons of God" refer to angels. Can refer to either fallen or holy depending upon the context.

Many of the UFO abduction testimonies relate to sexual procreation w/these beings & a "breeding" program. Luke 17:26 "as in the days of Noah" What was also happening in his days? Evil genetically manipulating the human race.

Diana,

'I got this in my head "Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of God".'

You know that was the Holy Spirit talking to you right?

I went to a Lutheran school for a few yrs & our kids went to a Lutheran affiliated Pre-school so I'm still somewhat familar. (In fact we're going to their Harvest festival tonight.)

I'm definately glad he's going to get out of the ELCA.He has to-there is no other choice if he want's to remain teaching Biblically sound doctrine.

Probably the end time teaching there is not stressed- well at least w/the Lutheran (and other) Pastors I know it's thought of as a waste of time. And hopefully he doesn't think the Church replaced Israel-replacement theology. Also, make sure you've studied the gifts of the Spirit & know they are all still active in Christian's lives.

But at least you already know this stuff & where to go for info.

People raised Lutheran &/or not familar w/other Christian teachings can be pretty clueless w/some of the topics we regularly discuss here.

It appears that some of the mainline denominations have a general outline of what is taught & not too many vear out of that perspective. They teach A,B,C & don't explore D,E,& F.

Isn't that super though your kids are interested in Church! Even if the attraction is initially the "friends" they'll still hear God's word there.

Looks like the Lord answered your prayer & it's really something when it's not even close to how we anticipated it would work out.

Re: Egypt...I remember reading some time ago about the Nile's trouble and how much of the water (because of dams being built? or being redirecting in the upper part?) was not reaching the population. Just google Nile drying up and you'll find alot of recent articles about it. Looks like it might be a prophesy in progress.

Diana, great news about the kids! I'd recommend a great book I'm reading right now by Stormie Omartian called The Power of a Praying Parent. When kids reach the "eye rolling" stage, it's easy to feel futile in talking with them or trying to keep Godly material in front of them. I remember so many times asking my mom if we could talk about something other than Jesus (and I wasn't the rebellious kid in the family!), but I think we forget how much power our prayers + declaring the Word over our families can bring into a situation. When we can't affect the situation in front of us, we can still turn loose the promises of God into their lives and things will go into action behind the scenes. I'm always reminded of Eph 6:12. The battle isn't really with what we see in front of us, but with the powers of the spiritual world we all inhabit and those powers aren't going to be defeated with our natural works or words. Praise the Lord that the battle is in His hands and He already has declared us victorious in it through Jesus! What confidence that brings me when I'm facing a situation that seems too difficult to overcome!

Have a great Lord's day tomorrow, everyone!
Blessings,
Jen

Catholic Church: Christ Nullified God's Promises to the Jews
October 24th, 2010
By Dr. David Hocking
Hope for Today

A Catholic synod called at the Vatican to address the rising persecution of Christian in the Middle East wrapped up on Saturday with a joint statement that focused a lot of attention on demanding Israel end its “occupation” of Arab lands.

The gathering was meant to address the various acts of persecution, intimidation and discrimination that are resulting in a severe dwindling of Christian communities across the region.

But the bulk of the two-week meeting was spent discussing how Israel is the root cause of all the Middle East’s woes, including those faced by its Christians.

The final statement reflected that position. It listed the “occupation” of Arab lands, the building of Israel’s security barrier, military checkpoints, the jailing of terrorists (defined in the statement as “political prisoners”) and the general disruption of Palestinian life as some of the main reasons behind the exodus of Palestinian Christians and Muslim attacks on the Jewish state.

Cyril Salim Bustros, the Lebanon-born Greek archbishop of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Boston, Massachusetts was responsible for delivering the final statement.

In clarifying remarks, he stated that “the Holy Scriptures cannot be used to justify the return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of the Palestinians, to justify the occupation by Israel of Palestinian lands.”

He then escalated the situation by declaring that the original promises made by God to the children of Israel “were nullified by Christ. There is no longer a chosen people.”

Bustros rejected the idea of Israel as “the Jewish state,” and insisted that eventually all the so-called “Palestinian refugees” must return to the land, a sure recipe for the demographic destruction of the world’s only Jewish nation-state.

Mordechai Levi, Israel’s ambassador to the Vatican, decried Bustros’ comments and the damage they had done to strengthening ties between Israel and the Church.

The Catholic Church has for years been trying to repair its image as an institution steeped in anti-Semitism. But Bustros’ remarks make fairly clear that the Vatican remains as dedicated as ever to replacement theology - that teaching that says God has tossed aside the Jews, despite is irrevocable promises to them, and that “the Church” has instead inherited those promises.

Yes, Anne, I just read Joel's response and it is awesome. I just popped back over here to post some of it.
I am so thankful for people like Joel Rosenberg! What a blessing!
Here is the beginning of his response:

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, THE VATICAN'S LATEST, PAINFUL PRONOUNCEMENT ON ISRAEL IS WRONG

By Joel C. Rosenberg
October 25, 2010) --

"A new headline in the Jerusalem Post reads: "Vatican synod calls for end to Israel's 'occupation': At conference on Christians in the Middle East, U.S. Melkite archbishop says: 'There is no longer a chosen people.'"

With all due respect, the Vatican is wrong on this issue. The entire Bible - from Genesis to Revelation - makes crystal clear again and again the Lord's love for the Jewish people, His decision to choose Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants for His very own, and His eternal promise to give the Holy Land to the Jewish people. As such, it is the duty of all true followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to bless Israel and reaffirm her fundamental legitimacy and right to the Land. Yes, we should bless and love the Palestinians, as well, because our Lord Jesus said as a Jew living in Israel, "Love your neighbor," and, "Love your enemies." But we should never accept the false teaching that God has rejected the Jewish people or rescinded His promises to the nation of Israel. That simply is not Biblical"

jim.carroll said...

Shalom, all. I've been thinking about this reply ever since Lisa brought it up in the thread under the previous post. Now, with Joel Rosenberg's statement, I'm going to make mine: Joel Rosenberg doesn't know what the h*ll he's talking about.

I'm tired of trying to deal with Google's "URL too long" problem when trying to post a message longer than 100 characters, and trust me, my response is long. You can read my first response by going to Catholic Answers Forum at http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=487054&page=29 and scrolling down to message #433. (The message number is in the upper right corner of each message.) My second response is two messages later, #435.

I'll try to summarize here, and believe me, I'm going to send a written response to Mr. Rosenberg.

First and foremost, we're not talking about some corner church with 30 or 40 families coming out in support of Israel. We're talking about the spiritual leader of over 1 BILLION people and as the chief shepherd on earth is considered to be the protector of ALL Christians, Catholic and non-Catholic alike. A great many of these Christians live in countries where both the people and the governments Do. Not. Like. Christians. At. All. Among these countries, ironically, is Israel.

The Modern State of Israel has always been led by secular Jews. We can't judge the true state of their belief, but I think the number of PMs and cabinet members who have been investigated for criminal offenses -- some while in office -- is telling. Israel may or may not be the physical recreated Israel of Scripture, but her leaders have been acting just like any other secular head of state. That being the case, they have been claiming the rights of a "mandate from Heaven" without accepting the responsibilities of such a mandate, particularly in the Torah definitions of justice and mercy. If they are going to act like any other secular state, then the Vatican must treat them like any other secular state.

If they ever start acting like Hashem is their G_D, then I know things will change. But the Vatican will have to be convinced this is a real change of heart and not political expediency.

When has the Vatican really stressed that the Bible should be the 1st priority? They don't. Their traditions & personal teachings all come 1st so no surprise there. My poor friend Casey went to Catholic school & church is now being taught the word of God for the 1st time in her life.

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Galatians 3:2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law, or by believing what you heard?

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.

Jim C. you know more of the Bible as a Catholic that anyone else I've yet come across. And that's not to say many Protestant types are much better off. It's just more likely that they will hear more of Gods' word preached because tradition isn't stressed as much. It's also in a state of Apostasy so I'm not just picking on Catholics.

Hebrews 4:2 For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.

Last week when I read their comments about "spiritual Israel" I knew this was coming next.

That's why they look down upon Christians like Joel Rosenburg who support Israel & take God's word to heart. It goes against what the Vatican's ulterior objectives are & these Christians will not bow down the hierarchy of the Catholic system to all just "get along" because God's literal word is the ultimate authority. Not man's compromised view of God's word.

A side has to be taken and it's either supporting what God says is the correct way of thinking in the Bible or going the Politically Correct route.

Being Political & following Christ just don't go well together. The Political system is humanistic & out for the "greater good of the day" whatever that may be at the time. And the "greater good" of our day typically does not line up with God's truths.

The greater good of the day in regards to the Palestinians is to carve more of Israel up.

Good thing God is the one really in control & allowing people's evil hearts to manipulate current world affairs. Meanwhile we will see how Bible prophecy is being fulfilled though who does what.

I was going over the candidate options last night & looking at the Family Voter Info. guide. There were a handful of people which upheld Biblical standards all across the board. The rest were either Pro-Abortion or Pro-Homosexual marriage. I couldn't get away from voting for them because all of the candidate options had the same worldview.

It won't be long now before anyone following Christ wholeheartedly will in some fashion be thrown into the Lion's Den.

I hope there are some Catholics that will get out of there. I would say they could form their own Christian denomination but then they couldn't still be considered as "Catholic" by the Vatican.

What do you think Jim C.? Are there some Catholics that are concerned w/what is transpiring? I know some of them do read the Bible from some of the links you've posted.

What a complete & utter mess. God's ways are sure beyond understading. He's again allowing man to have a sin infested heyday before He puts an end to it as the world becomes "ripe" for judgment.

Anyway, enough of my rant on that subject for the day. My morning started off w/reading about the Body Scanners at the JFK airport. I don't want to go though one & get radiated w/X-ray beams & certainly don't want my kids though those. If this eventually becomes mandatory my traveling days may have come to an end & I will not be a happy camper about that.

Body scanners unveiled at JFK Airport; Homeland Security Sect. Janet Napolitano doesn't volunteer

Now you'll see the media promoting the "greater good of all" though willingly going though the Body X-ray machines.(Smiling & in complete ecstasy) Those who refuse will be painted as selfish rebels to the system or as in Janet Napolitano's case - a complete hyprocrite. Promote something you're not sure of doing yourself.

"In a final joint communique, the bishops also told Israel it shouldn’t use the Bible to justify “injustices” against the Palestinians."

The Holy Scriptures cannot be used to justify the return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of the Palestinians, to justify the occupation by Israel of Palestinian lands,” Monsignor Cyril Salim Bustros, Greek Melkite archbishop of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Boston, Massachusetts, and president of the “Commission for the Message,” said at Saturday’s Vatican press conference."

“We Christians cannot speak of the ‘promised land’ as an exclusive right for a privileged Jewish people. This promise was nullified by Christ."

The Palestinians haven't been displaced. It's a bit like asking someone when they are going to stop stealing when they haven't.

I bet I can find some scriptures that do promise a return to the land.

Exactly where in scripture do we find the nullification of Jeremiah 31?

Great Grany 5 said...

I have been praying about this latest news and the word I received is this, God and NOT man or his institutions shall declare the Will of the Lord. Then when I clicked on Mac's link to Jeremiah 31 for some strange reason my browser rolled backwards to Jeremiah 30. Because I want the full force of God's Word to speak powerfully to everyone of us, I am copying it here intoto.

JEREMIAH 30: 1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. 3 The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from captivity and restore them to the land I gave their forefathers to possess,’ says the Lord.”

4 These are the words the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah: 5 “This is what the Lord says: “ ‘Cries of fear are heard—
terror, not peace. 6 Ask and see:
Can a man bear children? Then why do I see every strong man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor, every face turned deathly pale?
7 How awful that day will be! None will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob but he will be saved out of it.
8 “ ‘In that day,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will break the yoke off their necks and will tear off their bonds; no longer will foreigners enslave them. 9 Instead, they will serve the Lord their God and David their king,
whom I will raise up for them.

10 “ ‘So do not fear, O Jacob my servant; do not be dismayed, O Israel,’ declares the Lord. ‘I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will make him afraid.
11 I am with you and will save you,’ declares the Lord.‘Though I completely destroy all the nations
among which I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only with justice; I will not let you go entirely unpunished.’
12 “This is what the Lord says:
“‘Your wound is incurable, your injury beyond healing. 13 There is no one to plead your cause, no remedy for your sore, no healing for you. 14 All your allies have forgotten you; they carE nothing for you. I have struck you as an enemy would and punished you as would the cruel, because your guilt is so great and your sins so many.
15 Why do you cry out over your wound, your pain that has no cure?
Because of your great guilt and many sins I have done these things to you.
16 “ ‘But all who devour you will be devoured; all your enemies will go into exile. Those who plunder you will be plundered;
all who make spoil of you I will despoil. 17 But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord,
‘because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.’

Continued from above....

18 “This is what the Lord says:
“I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents and have compassion on his dwellings; the city will be rebuilt on her ruins, and the palace will stand in its proper place.

19 From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained. 20 Their children will be as in days of old, and their community will be established before me; I will punish all who oppress them.
21 Their leader will be one of their own; their ruler will arise from among them. I will bring him near and he will come close to me,
for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?’ declares the Lord. 22‘So you will be my people, and I will be your God.’ ”

23 See,the storm of the Lord will burst out in wrath, a driving wind swirling down on the heads of the wicked.
24 The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart.

In days to come you wilL understand this.

If each nation can only be a recognized nation because their leaders are without sin, then we would have a nationless earth. No France, no Italy, no England, no Spain, no Russia, no USA and no Rome which has declared itself a nation unto itself.

Jim C., did Rome really declare itself a sovereign nation unto itself? When did that happen. I know how painful any attack against the church you love is but Jim the Protestant Churches have been suffering that same persecution for centuries and this time, it will be a whole different picture.

But I still go back to the scriptures that speak so very loudly to all of the world: "those who bless Israel shall be blessed and all who curse her will likewise be cursed".

LISA, been through the full body scan almost a year ago when I flew from Tulsa, OK to Phoenix, AZ. One of the things that was quite a relief was the written info that was handed to each one of us as we entered into the security gates. "No Dangerous Radiation of any kind is in use." Now if that is untrue about the whole program, the USA Government and TSA will be paying out a bunch of money to all of us who were subjected to the scan.

It is time to stay calm and steady in the faith and not be swayed by the words of man.

you are way off base and you should know better. The point is God has never replaced Israel with the church, Israel in the OT is not the church but a separate entity, the only covenant which was a conditional covenant is the Mosaic covenenant. The Jews were given ownership of the land in an unconditional covenant-only God is required to keep that covenant. Their possession of the land, different than ownership, was conditional on their keeping of the law which they did not do. The last diaspora was due to their rejection of the Messianic claims of Christ. This statement that the Vatican has made is nothing more than a restatement of replacement theology and has nothing to do with the behavior and or faith of the leaders of Israel. God promised that one day Israel would be regathered into the land first in unbelief, like now, and then in belief.

The size of the church is irrelevant in this case-it is what the word of God says that is improtant. If the Catholic church takes this view they are the ones in error not the Scripture.

Grany, wanted to thank you for the link to "Mountain Moving Faith" (or more precisely, "Kenneth Hagin-Mountain Moving Faith (6CD)" Unfortunately, the service you linked to was a pay service. I could have gotten "2 weeks free, just cancel if you don't want it", but I'm always leery deals like that. Either I forget to cancel (not so much an issue now that I have a reminder program); or they forget to run through my cancellation before the two-weeks are up and I get charged for a month of service anyway -- which I just cannot afford right now.

But I was able to get enough information from the link that I was able to do a search on BitTorrent. That's a peer-to-peer (P2P) service that's used to pass around things like programs where people can't afford the dialup time to download the whole thing or they have a bandwidth cap on their service. Unfortunately, it's also used to share things like bootlegged videos (not interested, not when I can rent it for $1/night from Redbox), CDs (again, not interested), or porn (admittedly a temptation for me.)

BitTorrent slices a file or set of files into chunks and lists them as "torrents". When you download a torrent, you are getting small chunks of the file at a time. If you have a lot of people "seeding" a torrent, then the process is spread out and it goes faster. One of things about BitTorrent is that after you've downloaded a certain number of chunks, you become a "peer" and start making what you've downloaded available to other people looking for the file.

I'm mentioning this because it took 3 days for me to download the entire set (the torrent included all 6 CDs in one torrent -- there was no way to download one CD at a time.) I had to keep my PC running overnight to get it, because there were only two other sources (peers) of the set in the entire world. I managed to find the location of one of the sources.

It was a PC running in the United Arab Emirates.

I also found out the location of one of the people who were getting the files from me: Saudi Arabia.

These individuals were using a service usually associated with bootlegged videos and pornography to download and make available materials needed to develop faith. Anyone in those countries' security services who tracked internet traffic would just see BitTorrent traffic without being able to see what the actual materials were being transmitted. The natural assumption would be that someone was downloading porn. These people would be left alone, and their materials would still be available to new believers.

I'm going to take the files I got and re-torrent them as individual CDs. This means it will take less time to download an individual CD and then they'll be able to listen to them while downloading the others. Then I'll list these torrents with a number of BitTorrent indexes, and I'll be leaving my PC on overnight for the foreseeable future, to give those believers in those countries a chance to get these materials.

Thanks.

Something big is happening right now regarding shipments from foreign countries on UPS and FEDEX flights coming out of Europe and Dubai. Flights held on tarmac for a long time while packages addressed to Chicago are seized and removed from planes. Also, White House and Jewish Headquarters are put on high alert due to the process. This came on a news ticker tape on www.debka.com.

Yea, a little confused alos on this breaking news about the planes. Cargo jets bound to Chicago but also a passenger jet that had to be grounded? Just in time for elections!

Great Grany 5 said...

DIANA,
You guessed correctly, Muslims!

The thing that really shook me up was the added info from DebkaFile that the 2 bombs that were examined in Chicago did have explosives and were addressed to 2 Jewish Synagogues. That part really wasn't the shocker though. The part the Debka reported was that our President is scheduled to go to Chicago in 2 days time. According to the news ticker on one of the security sites (can't remember which one) there were 15 packages and 12 are accounted for. I haven't checked lately if they have traced the other 3 or not. Seems the Feds have had a very solemn promise from Yemen that all the cargo will be traced and reported back to Washington.

Somehow that just doesn't give me much peace. Anyone else feel the same way. I do know that Homeland Security has said it is almost impossible to examine all of the cargo going out by air and especially with USP and FedEx. Can you imagine the mess inspection of all the cargo would create?

Sorry I didn't make the comment clear Diana about the 3 groups. I think way ahead of what I am typing and DJH tells me all of the time to start at the beginning and clue him into what I am thinking and talking about.

Jerusalem Watchman
« The trouble with troublemakers
Who leases their birthright?
Posted on Friday 29 October 2010

“I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession;” (Genesis 17:8)

You almost have to hand it to those jokers down in Foggy Bottom. All the while they protest and maintain that they are “honest brokers,” “impartial” who want to do what is “best for both sides.”

At the same time, they repeatedly, earnestly insist that: “Israel has no better friend than the United States” – Joe Biden. “We are Israel’s best friend and ally ” – Barack Obama.

And if Israel balks, questioning the administration in Washington DC, the president says: “Israelis are suspicious of me because my middle name is Hussein.”

Let’s get rid of the smoke and mirrors.

When it comes to the Jewish State of Israel on the one side, and the Islamic Arab Middle East and Western world on the other, there is only one game in town: “We gotta get our hands on their land.”

What we discovered when we woke up Friday morning and smelled the news print, is if they can’t beat it out of Israel; if they can’t squeeze it out of Israel; if they can’t scare it out of Israel, they’ll go ahead and try to wrangle it out of Israel in a round about way.

Ha’aretz quoted the London-based daily Asharq al-Awsat as reporting that “Palestinian sources confirmed that the two sides discussed an option wherein Israel may lease lands in East Jerusalem from the Palestinians in exchange for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Israel would lease the territories from the Palestinian state for a period of 40 to 99 years.”

The lands in question include parts of Jerusalem the pro-Arab media and politicians call “East Jerusalem.”

The initiative is reportedly an American one, which means we need to STOP RIGHT HERE and ask ourselves two questions:

1) What does it mean if Israel leases the land from the Palestinian Arabs?

2) Why is AMERICA floating this idea?

The answer to both is one and the same. It means that the land belongs to the Palestinian Arabs. And it means that America – as in the men and women elected to govern that nation – believes this too.

It’s a set trap for Israel. If the Netanyahu government rejected this outright, it would give the other side more ammunition for its charge that the Israelis are not interested in making peace. If Israel agrees to the idea of leasing the land, it would be irreversibly acknowledging that ownership of it is not the Jews’.

One thing is – thankfully – sure: The Israelis are not fools. But politicians can be pushed into a corner if they don’t watch out.

Someone – perhaps Tzipi Hotoveli MK – must stand up and tell Obama and the rest of the world that the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem is not to give and not to sell and not to get.

It’s been more than given; more than bought; more than paid for.

This Land, and this city, belong to the Lord. He has given it to the Jews, forever. And that’s a period.

Grany, I've gotten torrents for all 6 of the CDs uploaded to an indexing service. If you go to The Pirate Bay and do a search for "Kenneth Hagin", you'll find them, as well as a collection of his videos, about 118 gigabytes worth (so I'm going to hold off on downloading those until I have a better internet connection!) The column marked "SE" is for Seeders -- people who have the entire file ready to be downloaded. Right now, that number is 1 -- me. The next column, LE, is "leechers", or peers. (People who download files but never make any available for uploading are called leechers, and if you continually leech, you can be banned from using certain services. By making these files available, I avoid leech-hood, gain points, and [as some friends would put it] reduce my karmic burden.) That column isn't accurate, because it's showing 0 peers, but I can see on my PC that there's some guy in South Dakota that's downloading CDs 1 and 2.

So I'll leave my PC on overnight and we'll see what kind of activity shows up.

Hey! Some person in Michigan just started downloading them! Cool!

God's Wings

After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park , forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree.

Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the
bird with a stick. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings.

The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had taken her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body,
the mother had remained steadfast...because she had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live.

'He will cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you will find refuge.'

I was born, raised, graduated from High School there and have many, many friends who were affected by the closing of Maytag. My grandfather was employed by Maytag when they were making threshing machines. Then when the founding father and his wife started having a very large family, the Mrs. said "make me a machine to wash clothes in" and the washing machine was born. My whole family worked at Maytag from the beginning and until the end. In my father's family there were eleven kids, 10 boys and one girl. All of those sons had children, then they all had multiple offsprings and the story evolves. Then my mothers side of the family there were four, one son and 3 daughters. The only one that never worked for Maytag was my mother and out of all those offspring, my brother and I were the only ones that never worked for Maytag.

My grandfather worked there until he was 72 years old. The ruin of the company was a very sad day for everyone but when a company can no longer pay attention to quality then their ruin is in the making.

It was a good program though.

jim.carroll said...

Lisa, shalom. I REALLY have to protest your postings of blog entries from this "News That Matters" site. In the three entries you just posted, the author is more interested in pushing an anti-Catholic agenda that actually making a measured consideration of facts -- facts which he does not appear to be concerned with identifying or mentioning.

The first entry, "Vatican and Arab League sign agreement" is painted by the author as a despicable plot to work against Israel. On the contrary: do you know how many Christians there are in Saudi Arabia, as well as the United Arab Emirates? Several hundred thousand -- over 800,000 in 2008. The vast majority of those Christians are Roman Catholics from the Philippines working on the Arabian peninsula as domestics and construction workers, sending money back to their families. In 2007, construction of the first Catholic Church on the Arabian Peninsula (at least, since the time of Mohamed) was begun in Qatar, for the use of all the foreign workers there. In 2008, there were several news stories stating that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia gave permission for Saudi Arabia's first (and only) Catholic Church to be constructed; however, that is still in the negotiation phase.

Somehow, it skipped the poster's attention (there's no author named) that on Oct. 1 the Saudi Religious Police broke up a Mass being held in a private residence, took the names of all 150 of the people attending, and arrested 12 Filipinos and the French priest for proselytizing. You can read more about it at Fr. Z's Blog, "Saudi Arabia: Islamic Religious Police arrest Catholics for attending a Mass". You might also be interested in reading his blog entry, "A counter-proposal for the Mosque at Ground Zero". As of this writing, the 13 people are still being held. They may yet be tried and if found guilty (ha!) be executed for this crime. So why does this writer assume that the most pressing item under discussion at this meeting would be how to divide up Israel after the coming war?

The author criticizes the Vatican for "working for peace with Fascists", as if working with the legal government of a country (no matter how reprehensible we may view it) is a crime. Two things that the author either hasn't bothered to research, or are too inconvenient to be mentioned. First, at the time the author is talking about, during the Spanish Civil War, the Republicans (Socialist/Communist factions supported by the USSR) were murdering Catholic priests, nuns, and religious workers wherever they went. The Fascists (lead by Franco and supported by Germany) protected Church properties and personnel. The Church may not have been fond of the Fascists, but it was easier dealing with them than with the Communists. (In fact, one reason Pope Pius XII didn't speak out more forcefully against Nazi Germany was because he didn't feel he could do that without also speaking out against the Communists, who were also killing priests in the territories they controlled. However, the USSR was allies with the people who were liberating Europe.)

(continued from above)

Second, the Lateran Concordat was designed to resolve a situation that had been brewing since 1870, when the Italian Wars of Unification conquered and took over the Papal Territories. The Pope was a monarch ruling over these territories, and was recognized as such by all other governments of the world at the time, including the US. The Papal States were stolen by the new Italian government. After 59 years where each pope during that time was "a prisoner of the Vatican", a king without a state, an agreement was reached with the Italian government to repay the Vatican for the territories, returned a number of territories (including Castel Gandalfo and the location of the Vatican Radio studios and antennas), and recognized the return of the pope to the status quo ante -- recognizing that the Pope was a monarch over the Vatican territories.

And before you go making a blanket statement of anti-Semitism against the Vatican, you should perhaps read "Humani generis unitas" (Latin for On the Unity of the Human Race). This is a papal encyclical (a writing that explains Catholic teachings and beliefs) that condemns anti-Semitism. It was originally to be released by Pope Pius XI (a first draft was on his desk when he died of a heart attack in early 1939) and was edited and released by his successor Pius XII in October of 1939. To summarize, anti-Semitism, or oppression of any people, is against Catholic teachings.

As for the second article, where the author criticizes the Pope for not condemning all Muslims to hell, all I can say is [SARCASM:ON]that never before has there existed on earth (well, maybe once) someone who knew, simply KNEW, who was and was not destined for hell.[SARCASM:OFF] It is not for anyone on earth to say what is in G_D's mind regarding the state of someone else's soul, and I have to say that this person sounds almost disappointed that G_D might find it in His Divine Mercy to allow some of those good-for-nothing Muslims into Heaven. (Well, I guess so long as they stick to their part of Heaven...)

Please don't post links to any more of this person's posts. I find them to be most un-Christian.

Did anyone catch Jon Stewart's comment at the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in Washington on Saturday when he said “We live in hard times not end times."

I think we're in both but we haven't seen anything yet in terms of hard times. I sure don't want them and I would more than welcome God's mercy, grace, and healing on our land.

A funny thought occurred to me yesterday. If God ultimately determines who had political power and I vote for someone who God does not put into power, did I vote incorrectly. Just for fun. Don't think about it too much. I think we are accountable to God for our votes (or lack thereof). The rest is in His hands. Our hope is ultimately in Him, not in politics. Praise the Lord who is King of Kings and Presidents and Senators, and Congressmen, and everyone. May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Jim C, Your calling may be to get a job a head P.R. person for the Vatican. No matter what is presented & called out as false teaching they can do no wrong in your sight.

If my Church family ever participated in anything brazenly unbiblical I would be out of there in a mili-second & call them on it.

How come you seem to make light of Christians who hold God's Word in the highest regard?

Mark 12:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Jesus didn't tell us to love our Church organization over who He is as revealed to us in the Bible.

Isaiah 66:2 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?" declares the LORD. "This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.

2 John 1:9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

John 8:31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue in my word, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our stayed with him."

1 John 2:24 See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.

I'm always willing to listen to an opposing viewpoint & I rarely read an article where the author has every fact 100% on cue but to go as far as justify a stance that Muslims or anyone else worshipping demons & false gods have a chance to be saved outside of Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible is delusional. Don't allow them to convince you otherwise.

"It is not for anyone on earth to say what is in G_D's mind regarding the state of someone else's soul,.."

That's right but we know the mind of God because He gave us His Word & His Spirit to find that out. And from His Word we know that no one comes to the Father except through His son Jesus Christ.

The Jesus Christ as revealed to us in the Holy Bible. Not the "false christ’s" presented to us by false prophets/religious systems.

We have the gift of the Holy Bible for a reason - so we can come to know God. He has told us in black & white no one is saved outside of "The Word"-Jesus Christ. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar and/or deceived.

That is plain & simple & easy to understand.

Anyone coming in place of Jesus Christ- whether it's Mohammad, Buddha, Matriya, Marian apparitions/Mary, dead Saints,
Aliens, Rael, or the myriad of false prophets/idols rearing their ugly heads is Anti-Christ and a tool of Satan which leads men away from Jesus Christ & to "another gospel".

Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

John 8:24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins."

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

1 John 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

John 4:24 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols."

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Mark 13:5,6 Jesus said to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and will deceive many.

To the end time Christians who will not compromise w/the world system. Those who keep His Word & do not deny His Name.

And what is being attacked more than ever right now? His Word (Did God really say....?) and His Name (Jesus isn't the only way.....)

Revelation 3:8-10
I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars--I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.

Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

interesting article by Strom. I would note that after reading the letter criticizing him my first thoughts were that the man writing was demon possessed. I watched the first video and had to stop and barely made it through the first video-it was like I could feel the Spirit recoil in horror at what was going on as those people were so clearly coming under the influence of demonic powers.

I listened to a very interesting session of demonology by Frucht who made some interesting claims about demon possession and Spirit filled Christians. He does in fact teach that you can be possessed by a demon and be a true Christian as well. His point was that the Spirit is in the new man and since the old still exists that the demon can reside and control the old man. He does note however that the possession/control is not as complete in the Christian as it would be in the non Christian and oddly enough he recommended and entirely different remedy than exorcism. He recommends for the Christian that the Christian has to exercise active Resistance to the demon. You'd have to listen to the whole thing as I am sure I am not doing his argument justice. It was food for thought and definitely not what I had been taught at all.

He mentions during the teaching that he knows a lady who can tell just by looking at someone and tell if they are under demonic control. He says it is her spiritual gift-I can think of gifts I would rather have.

Great Grany 5 said...

Wouldn't want to be in her shoes one minute.

When I tried watching the video that Lisa posted, it really disgusted me because I have seen people act like those people were acting. And the whole point is; they are acting! Along the way to wanting a closer relationship with the Lord, some weird ideas got hatched and all anyone has to do is give a smidgen of an opening to Satan and he will come in bit time.

My friend Linda knows how I really feel about that kind of behavior and I have never backed down from voicing my opposition to it. But I have this question that I always ask myself no matter what is taking place in my presence: Is this how Jesus Christ behaved and reacted to the Holy Presence of Abba? Or is this the way those people who were possessed were acting when he set them free?

You can't have it both ways, sweet water and bitter water do not flow out of the same well. Our sin natures desire us to go to the extremes but the very presence of the Holy Spirit in Believers does not lead them to make fools of their self or anyone else. He isn't a gossip either.

So, Strom did good in exposing it for what it is. Take that anointing and use it to glorify God, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Just my 2 cents worth.

That is the question. I presented evidence that the author of those articles either purposefully ignored or was ignorant in presenting history. I try to follow Hanlon's Razor, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." Unfortunately, given the tone of his writing, I have to attribute hi statements to malice. If this is the case, he (or she) purposefully distorted, ignored, or mis-stated history in order to support his beliefs. In light of your question, I have to ask: If this person is so determined to paint a group as evil as to distort facts of history, facts which can be shown to be the opposite of what this person says, what is that person (who you say "holds God's Word in the highest regard") going to do to G_D's word? G_D's Word is Truth. Historical facts (that events A, B, and C happened at such a time and place) are truth. At what point does distorting one truth lead to distorting G_D's Truth?

Whatever else you may believe about the Vatican or the Catholic Faith, I submit that you cannot rely on someone who so willingly distorts truth to accurately present G_D's Truth. That is why I asked that you stop providing links to this person's website.

I ran across this in researching another question on another site. I'm quoting it in full because it is so appropo re: the author of Lisa's articles:

Lying is linked to the tragedy of sin and its perverse consequences, which have had, and continue to have, devastating effects on the lives of individuals and nations. We need but think of the events of the past century, when aberrant ideological and political systems wilfully twisted the truth and brought about the exploitation and murder of an appalling number of men and women, wiping out entire families and communities. After experiences like these, how can we fail to be seriously concerned about lies in our own time, lies which are the framework for menacing scenarios of death in many parts of the world. Any authentic search for peace must begin with the realization that the problem of truth and untruth is the concern of every man and woman; it is decisive for the peaceful future of our planet. (Pope Benedict XVI, Message for the World Day of Peace, 2006)

Did all of you bloggers go to Washington or something? Now that the elections are over and we are in a state of exhilaration, what say we all keep our prayers going for the total Awakening of the people to just what is taking place in the world and how it relates to our destiny.

As I was thanking Abba for his wonderful guidance during all of the campaigning and massive mailings from political hopefuls, I became greatly aware of the largeness of His great mercy. Even the Liberal news media was shocked and "overjoyed' (NOT)by the new voice that is being shouted out in the USA. Will it take root in other parts of the world and will we really exit out of this earth in great victory and revival? I truly hope so.

In the meantime, keep the love alive and share it where ever you go.

As for my state (MN) we're not done yet. We'll have a recount. Again. Last time it was good ol' Al Franken and Norm Coleman (senate), this time governor. We have such strange politics here. Remember our guv from the '90's, Jesse "The Body" Ventura? (For the uninformed, that would be his wrestling name) He is now doing a conspiracy theory show on TruTV. No joke! Nope, I leave the joking to our senator, the one who used to be a regular on Saturday Night Live.

I just have to shake my head.

ANNE,
I still cannot believe that Minnesota sent Al Franken to DC but then I always thought he was wired wrong to begin with. Do you suppose the JOKE is on the Democrats this time?

But I am sorry you have to wait for the final outcome. I have had the displeasure of being a participant of recounts and they are a real pain to sit on. The pressure that is placed on the people involved with the recount can be almost unbearable. Lots of rocking chair quarterbacks get into the picture somehow.

It is good not to have the phone ringing and all of the email messages from this one and that one (all out of our state to boot) asking for money to pursue their dream. I wonder what would happen if they put a spending cap on the campaigns for like say, $50,000? I know there would be lots of screaming but just think, it would allow some really good people to pursue a political voice in this nation.

Did you see the pictures of the Monkey Pit that Alesia allowed to be established in her pretty basement? hehehehehehe and you are right that is one odd looking piece of equipment but I think it where Mac can collapse when he tries carrying too much weight. Or is that Wait?

Who is Impacting the Evangelical Mind?

American Evangelicalism has been reviled both culturally, and academically by high-profile detractors such as H.L. Mencken and Sinclair Lewis for nearly one hundred years. Today, the polemic against Evangelicalism continues to gain a sympathetic audience due in large part to people such as Sam Harris, and Christopher Hitchens who have the attention of the news media. Consequently, many who move within educated circles share Michael Weisskopf’s sentiment, quoted from a controversial 1993 Washington Post article, in which he characterized Evangelicals as “largely poor, uneducated and easy to command.”

Now I must get back to work. Have to replace my car. Yuck.

Great Grany 5 said...

ANNE,
That link is very interesting and what might have been true for the Michael Weisskopfs of 1993 but that is simply an Academic excuse for not having any faith in what God is and can do. It isn't anything new by the way and it can easily be seen during the days of Jesus' life when the Religious Authorities tried their level best to make a liar out of the Son of God and the Son of Man. Didn't work then and won't work today. True, some people will always seek a strong leader to keep them on a certain self defined track but that isn't everyone.

Have you ever tried to convince a teenager that he can not drive that fast and live long? Does not work. Those wheels will keep right on spinning until they in fact, come up against the law of gravity and forward motion. Same holds true with any born again, Blood bought believer who has repeatedly encountered the very person of the Holy Ghost.

One of the reasons I really don't care what some educated, self righteous authority has to say about something or someone that they have had zero experience with. My freedom seems far fetched to a person from Russia but you can bet your next breath that as soon as they come face to face with the reality of it, no one will be able to sway them away from the truth. They will hang on to their new found freedom with a determination that will rock the world forever.

Easy to dominate, stupid and without a backbone? Time will tell but he better stay where he is and not come to this part of the country. Uneducated? How stupid can he be?

Naw, that wouldn't be very nice of me. So who ever said I was nice?

Is anyone here familiar with the author Anne Jackson? Here's an excerpt from her Permission to Speak Freely web site:

Anne Jackson is an author, speaker, and social change activist who lives in the Nashville, Tennessee area. Her book, Mad Church Disease – Overcoming the Burnout Epidemic (Zondervan) released in February 2009. Her second book, Permission to Speak Freely: Essays and Art on Fear, Confession and Grace
(Thomas Nelson) released in August 2010.

The tour is coming to our church this Tuesday. I have a funny feeling about it. I just checked out some of the folks that are endorsing her and while I would consider many of them mainstream and non-controversial, several of them are "emergent church" personalities for lack of a better term. For example: Donald Miller, Leonard Sweet, and Dan Kimball.

Thoughts, insight, or advise?

"My book does not bash the church. My book is not about porn. My book does not bash the church. My book is not about porn. Some people think this and have openly said they won’t read it because of one or more of these reasons. Just an FYI."

So I imediately wondered why is she bashing the church and writing about porn? (That's a joke) But, seriously, I would want to know why people are saying such things.

Haven't done so yet, but I see that you can look inside her book on Amazon.

Thanks to all who kindly accepted me as a friend on facebook. If I missed anyone in requesting it's only because I wasn't sure if you were just a mutual friend of cave members or were actually from the cave. Examples, Diana, Jennifer, Marge.

BTW, Anne xxxxxxxxx is not an uncommon name, so there is more than one on facebook. I'm the one holding a baby.

Very good post from David Wilkerson today.

AN OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON HOUSEHOLDS!

God is doing something new in the land right now. Something so powerful, so supernatural, it is terrorizing hell. The Holy Ghost has come to separate a people unto the Lord. Being successful is not nearly as important as hearing from God. To newly baptized saints, prospering means seeing Jesus in a new and living way. Houses, land, furniture, cars, clothes—all these things have lost their charm to a people now passionately in love with the Lord of glory. The Holy Ghost has come to reveal Christ as the Savior of homes—our homes!

ANNE,
Thank you for getting that straightened out for me. I think your picture is even better than the one with all the mountains in the background.

I am still unable to send out emails but the odd thing is, I can connect to FB by way of clicking on the links with the message. I am going to go check the other computers to see if the same thing exists on them. If they can connect with sending, then it has to be in my computer and I just did add Panda Cloud Antivirus.

Problems that become an opportunity to learn more always give me a lot of joy.

Hey, I think I've doubled my number of friends since yesterday, just by adding cave members!

Please pray for these poor people. A very large community of Somalis live within 2 miles of my home. Our church has been invited by the community to come and share meals with them, we have started a tutoring program for their children and other activities. The trust has just recently been building and I know many of these families will be heartbroken, not just by what has happened, but by the certainty that many people will reject them and discriminate because of the terrible actions of some. Please pray that my church will be able to continue to befriend and love these people with the love of Jesus. More than 99% of the Somalis are Muslim.

Here's the article:

More than 20 arrested in human-trafficking sweep

Federal and local investigators swept through the Twin Cities area Monday and arrested more than 20 suspects in an extensive human trafficking investigation involving Somali gangs, sources confirmed...An indictment against 29 suspects was unsealed Monday morning, alleging that members of Somali gangs based in the Twin Cities victimized at least four women -- three of whom were younger than 15 at the time -- by turning them into prostitutes.

JIM C.
I received your email a short while ago and as you know, I cannot respond to you by way of Gmail so, I will be brief here.

I do not accept your definition and explanation of the RCC. You knew that before you responded. If what you said was true then I am sure our New Testament would acknowledge such. However, I am quite sure that you do consider them as solid historical facts, and I applaud you for your fervency in loving your church and it's traditions and history.

Just as I love my church, I can understand your stance. But to say that the only original Christians back in the pre 70AD time were Catholics is really stretching it beyond reality. If there were true then your first founding fathers were Jews. Where does the Apostle Paul speak of your beginnings.

So, I summerize this by stating and unequivocally, the first Jews were the first Christians and the first Holy Spirit Filled Believers were Jews that Jesus commanded to tarry in Jerusalem until they had been endued with the PROMISE from God.

I am not responding to you to start a war but I am just as passionate about what I believe as you are about what you believe. However, my belief is based solely on the inspired Word of God that was imparted by the very men who lived and followed Jesus Christ.

Yes, the RCC church believes that Peter was the first pope.

And that the beginnings of the church was the beginning of the RCC Church.

(Please correct me if I am wrong, Jim)

My brother just got this from his daughter-in-law:

A LITTLE GIRL ON A PLANE

A congressman was seated next to a little girl on an airplane so he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?"

"Oh, I don't know," said the congressman. "How about global warming, universal health care, or stimulus packages?" as he smiled smugly.

"OK," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?"

The legislator, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea."

To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss global warming, universal health care, or the economy, when you don't know shit?"

And then she went back to reading her book.

('Course, me being who I am, now I need to do research to answer her question!)

Special request for prayer.

Alesia is away from home this week doing a training course for work. She is feeling very, very sick - probably picked up a bug from the plane.

I just spoke to her and she is feeling alone and exhausted.

Can you all please pray for quick healing.

Thanks.

Jim C, have been praying for you too.

Will pray for Alesia and for Jim.

Is It Just Metaphor? Many Are Those Who See Signs Falling In Place That China Will 'Invade'

China is well on its way to becoming a power equal to the U.S., if not greater. Just last week, Forbes Magazine rated Hu Jintao -- leader of China -- as the most powerful person in the world -- one place above President Obama!

The following is an excerpt from a New York Times article. (Emphasis in bold, was added by me.)

When asked in about Israel’s plans for 1,000 housing units for a contested part of East Jerusalem, Mr. Obama said, “This kind of activity is never helpful when it comes to peace negotiations.”

“I’m concerned that we’re not seeing each side make the extra effort involved to get a breakthrough,” the president added during his visit to Indonesia. “Each of these incremental steps can end up breaking trust.”

A few hours later, Mr. Netanyahu’s office responded with a statement, saying that “Jerusalem is not a settlement; Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel.”

Mr Hyde said...

“Jerusalem is not a settlement; Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel.”

I like that!!

New post is up.
