Romans 8:23-26
... even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Interesting comments about Ez. on previous page. Am reading Baruch now.
friend of mine posted this at his blog
Field trip for prayers at Mosque in public school!
Well said, Jib.
Just returned home from a fantastic NW Foursquare Men's Retreat. One of the main points that was emphasized was that God's purpose is not that we be "happy" but that we be holy.
As Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Randy just posted this wonderful note on FB. His wife Becky is currently on a missions trip in Benin.
Just heard from Becky in Benin. A local witch doctor came to Christ this week. Brought all of his voodoo junk to church today and they burned it...
Tomorrow they will minister in a remote voodoo village where the church has just been planted (Edith's village), and Tuesday thru Thursday it will be 8 am to 10 pm teaching sewing and ministering Jesus to the former child slaves.
Great news, Jim G!
Jim G, Sounds like you had a great retreat! The small group study we are doing right now is focused on Holiness too.

"Dear Friends and Family, I am flabbergasted and completely humbled. The first report just came in covering the first few days of activity on my new book, Musings from Me and My Master. What took my breath away was that over half of the orders were for multiple books, many for two copies, five and six copies, and phenomenally some orders were for fifteen and twenty five copies. This is unheard of, especially because no one had even read a single page yet. Folks ordering copies to give to friends, sight unseen, does not occur in the book world. Initial orders of one extra copy is rare, but sight unseen orders of five, fifteen, and twenty five is beyond reality. As I said, I am humbled. And I thank you more than words can express for your confidence. You have made me speechless. And I think you have made our Master smile.
If you haven't yet, I do hope you will take a moment now and click: Musings from Me and My Master Then click on "add to cart."
Once again, thank you so much for your amazing support.
May this new book be exciting for you and your friends.

As for Off The Wall News, I shall know by Wednesday.

That video of the Massachusett's school attending a Mosque is a sickening example of how far to the left our public school system has fallen. I am really disturbed about it and all I can feel right now is total anger. Why are the parents of those students not rising up in total against this sort of decision making by the teachers and administration? My other question, what kind of glue was attached to those mother's seats that kept them from charging in to the men's gathering section and removing their sons?
I guess they have been brain washed to the Political Correctness propaganda. What a mess and all I can hope for is
"COME QUICKLY LORD JESUS, COME".
Grany
well, you can all congratulate me on preaching one of the worst sermons in my life. I am not sure what happened, but most of last week was spent just sitting and getting no-where. I thot it came together Saturday, but Sunday I seemed so tired, with a hint of dizzy, and I just wandered thru the passage.
One wonders what it is like to stand there and not have a clear word from the Lord, and now I know. It is not a good feeling.
And so, we begin a new week with seeking the Lord's words. Tonite I have a meditation to do, and it would be nice if it would be meaningful.
Thanks for your prayers.
Wayne
Wayne,
Keeping your arms held high while you seek the Lord. Sounds like you are in a real battle and WE ALL need to gather around you and pray. Like Moses, we'll support you while you seek and proclaim.
Just got back from the eye doctor and so far I seem to be holding on to the little vision I have left in my right eye. I am still standing and believing that God's purpose for sending Jesus to heal the sick, the wounded, the lame, oppressed and sight for the blind.
We shall overcome and the give the glory to God.
I thought this article was interesting, in light of Grany's vision from 3 years ago:
The Mail: Notion That We Are In Calm Before Storm Touches Those Who Sense Suddenness
Given some of the other things I've read, I'm inclined to think something will happen in November. In one way it would be good, because it would be after a majority of the food would have been harvested in the US; in another way it would be bad because I understand we're in for a cold winter.
BTW, do any of you follow Pastor Chuck Baldwin?
<><
I don't follow Chuck Baldwin, but I did see on another site that he's headed off to Montana. Sounds like he's about to set up a community to survive what's coming.
happy bday Mac
Grany
I also thought that was truly hideous-seriously what were the parents thinking?
on a different note just to get an opinion from others-read a deep Christian thinker I admire who is trying to get Christians to see the difference between their state responsibilities and the individual responsibilities toward enemies. He then shared a story that he thought was a great example of this-some Pastor in TX opened up their church for the muslims to use to celebrate Ramadan since their mosque wasn't finished. does anyone else have an issue with allowing a satanically based religion use the God based facilities for worship?
Jib, to me it depends on what part of the structure is being used. If it were the sanctuary, then yes, but if it was the basement or "community center" (or whatever your group calls it), then no. I would view it as a form of outreach to the Muslim community, and as a way to expose them to the teachings of Issa being put into practice.
There was a similar situation in Texas last week. A local Catholic church allowed a Jewish group to hold Yom Kippur services in the main sanctuary, as they had done so last year. There were some complaints because they not only covered all the crucifixes, statues of saints, and other Christian religious images (such as the Stations of the Cross), but also they covered the main altar with a blue cloth surmounted by the Star of David. Nothing insurmountable, but this year at the last minute the permission was revoked because it turned out the rabbi who was going to lead the services was on the board of Planned Parenthood. Upon learning this, the bishop stepped in. Since there was not another rabbi available, there was nothing to do but revoke the invitation.

Moroccan Convert Serving 15 Years for His Faith
<><
I was wondering about a similar issue... I've noticed in our parts (eastern PA, north of Philly) that many churches share space with Korean congregations, which I assume are Protestant groups that just have services in their native tongue. However, I've noticed in the last year or so that more churches are now sharing/hosting synagogues as well and one is even the new home of the Christian Science group that moved out of a small building up the road last year. (I think it's an Episcopal church.) It's an interesting phenomonena to see and so far, I haven't heard any concerns about it taking place. Note, these aren't once a year events, but rather permanent sharing arrangements of the building/facilities.
Blessings,
Jen
Jib,
I have a real problem with a church allowing people to worship false gods inside of its building. I respectfully disagree with Jim C on this one. Although I do not believe that a church building is a holy place it is used for the gathering of the saints in order to worship the living God and to serve one another in brotherly love. If one is not worshipping the one true God then they belong to satan. All other religions are satanic. Would it be ok to allow a satanist group or a coven of witches to have a dinner together celebrating some religious festival in the basement of your church? How would you all feel about that and how does the Lord feel about that? We do not show the Muslims who the real Jesus is by giving them a place to eat and worship someone who is a liar and who mocks God.
anyone elses thought?
Diana
I agree w/Diana completely. There are ways to reach out to others under Satan's bondage without inviting them into the actual Church space. This is allowing them to call upon their
"gods"/"Demons" in their own religious worship service.
Daniel Messiah is a Pastor at our Church who has headed up a Muslim outreach. He's only been there a couple years so it's a relatively a new thing there.
He came up w/the idea of hosting a "Night in the Middle East" w/traditional food/music/dress. It's done in the Church courtyard but basically it's geared to bring the Muslims together & then minister to them w/the gospel message of Jesus Christ & personal testimonies.
God has never approved of a mixture of unclean w/clean so we shouldn't be allowing other faiths to worship their gods in a Church facility whether it's the actual sanctuary building or not.
Ezekiel 22:26
Her priests have been acting violently against my law; they have made my holy things unclean: they have made no division between what is holy and what is common, and they have not made it clear that the unclean is different from the clean, and their eyes have been shut to my Sabbaths, and I am not honoured among them.
Ezekiel 44:23 They are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.
Titus 1:15,16
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
2 Peter 3:17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.
Wayne, Sounds like you need a time of refreshing.
Our pastor was getting a little worn down & then got that call to suddenly go to Jerusalem. He went & said that the Lord refreshed him there & it appears that he's been supercharged since.
Then L.A. Marzulli needed a break so he took off a week & in the middle of it the History Channel called him up to do another interview for an upcoming show & sort of ruined his idea of relaxation. But then the Lord suddenly & supernaturally put a jolt back in his step. It's a good testimony. Read the "Sept 19th Sunday Bun".

I'll be praying for you too.

The Seventh Day Abomination (The SDA Mystery Babylon Connection) Part 1 of 8
What was really interesting about William Miller who began 7th Day Adventism is that he was a high ranking Free Mason therefore groomed w/the Illuminati thinking.
He eventually renounced his membership due to evangelical pressure but retained the concepts & integrated them into his writings.
If you've studied anything about the Illuminati/Free Masonry you'll find this very interesting.
The symbolism & language will be apparent.
This new DVD looks awesome. I'll have to buy it & see. Shatteredis a documentary hosted by Skip Heitzig that examines the influences of movies, music, and interactive media on youth culture, families, and the church. This full-length film will take you from the tragic events of Columbine to experts on the occult. You'll also get first-hand testimony about incredible spiritual experiences that are not of this world. The crew went to locations in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and California to capture this story and conduct two dozen exclusive interviews.
Awesome Story!
Mama Deo’s Amazing Story
oH, Diana, I agree with you whole heartedly!
Lisa gave some very sound scriptural reasons for it but I have an even stronger reason. Bear with me on this one.
Back in the early 60's the Federal Government began a campaign to develop a new teaching curriculum called "Sensitivity Education" which was just a misleading name for Sex Education. The goal was to desensitize the children and youth in our schools to their sexual person. It was an attempt to, so the authors said, defuse the teenage pregnancy problem and these great thinkers determined that if you started in teaching and demonstrating the aspects of our sexual being the desires that take over when our children reach puberty will not be so strong. Maybe like, "oh, that is so old fashioned" sort of thing.
I lived in a little Northern Missouri town and we fought it like it was a Russian invasion. We were put down as being completely uninformed, ignorant, stupid, Christian bigots, and the list goes on. We were some of those things because we mistakenly thought if we posed serious and well grounded objects to the agenda that the creators of it would back down. Now this was way before the NEA had become so very strong and we were still called the PTA, but not anything like Harper Valley PTA.
That was what I would call a true Trojan Horse because it brought in the sicko group of adults that are now having sex with the students, passing out condoms and birth control pills like they are candy and what has happened to the moral standards of our youth. For that matter, what about the morals of the parents. Then that all opened the door for the Department of Human Services to come into your home and tell you how to raise your children and what you and cannot do.
A Trojan Horse never serves the purpose it looks like it is going to serve. It all seemed such a good idea to begin with to the politically social group of educators and besides that, added income into the school coffers.
Yeah, we fought it and now people come up and say "oh, I wish we had listened when your group was trying to shine some light on that mess!". Well, it is too late now and the horses are all out of the barn and predators are in the school house guarding your children. Makes me feel all warm and cozy? NO, NO, NO but having Muslims sharing my church for their services---I would rather burn the church down first and not wait for Abba to do it.
Lisa, Shalom! Thanks for posting that story about Mama Deo. I do want to point out something that may be of interest, maybe not. The article stated about Pascal Niyigaba that he "had been a former influential lay leader in the Roman Catholic church, but was excommunicated when he began questioning certain unbiblical practices." This set off alarm bells in my head.
The Church in Africa has been growing faster than any other place on the planet, but that growth has been accompanied by a great number of spiritual attacks. For example, in 2005 in Namibia, a priest was excommunicated for practicing witchcraft, and in 2007 Father Fano Ngcobo was excommunicated for starting his own church, the African Catholic Community (i.e., he became a schismatic.) (This "church", BTW, appears to have disappeared from the face of the earth. Their web site has been taken down and I can find no mention of him or the church after the middle of last year.)
There are two types of excommunication. When Fr. Ngcobo formed his church, he incurred automatic, or "latae sententiae" excommunication. This type of excommunication is incurred for certain serious offenses such as procuring or aiding in an abortion or promoting schism. In 2006 Archbishop Milingo incurred "ferendae sententiae", or an imposed sentence, when he ordained four married men as bishops. (These four men were also excommunicated.)
My point is excommunication is not something imposed lightly. Unless it's something serious that incurs "latae sententiae" excommunication, "ferendae sententiae" excommunication is something that requires a court trial. It's a non-trivial process. It is NOT something that is done simply for questioning Church doctrine. I cannot find any record, official or otherwise, that lists Pascal Niyigaba as having incurred "ferendae sententiae" excommunication. Given the time period, it's possible that he was involved with Fr. Ngcobo and incurred "latae sententiae" excommunication for schism, which may or may not be on any official record. Still, I would be leary of someone describing himself as "questioning certain unbiblical practices", when in fact he was promoting schism. It's also possible that he simply left the Church and struck out on his own, and is describing himself as "excommunicated" more as a sympathy ploy than as any actual sentence imposed on him.
Regardless, I think discernment is necessary in evaluating Mr. Niyigaba.

Ran across this music video and wanted to share it:
How Long?
THE cry of many Christians today is, "How long, Lord? How long before the suffering, sin, and depravity of this generation comes to an end?" This is a song of sorrow, and a song of hope… in Him who is Hope itself.

Jim C.,
I really enjoyed the song and video. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing it.
Jim C,
I also really enjoyed the video that you shared. Thanks!

JIM C.
That's probably all of our hearts cry and I too thank you for sharing int. He has a great voice but it is more than that.
I wonder!!!
I got some old tapes out last night, that I have had for at least 18 years, and it is amazing the things that were being taught then about scripture seems to have been turned wrong side out in the past 2 years. Not that I believe the new theories, because I don't. However, it is very interesting that the same scriptures are being presented in a different concept and it really bugged me. I have been praying about it and this is basically what I feel is happening. Commercialization of Sacred Scripture being manipulated to fit into a dialogue of unproven theory. Just as the universe is theorized by man, so man has theorized God's intent and purposes. Rather than studying the root meaning of what God's word says, it is being set to a personal gain agenda.
I know new discoveries have been made and artifacts have been unearthed that causes us all to say "huh?". But are these new theories going to hold up under close scrutiny which will be dissected by qualified experts as regards God's word? I read one of Dr. Fruchtenbaum's review of Mark Hitchcock and he tore that man's theory all to smithereens. Mark is now a highly regarded writer but how trustworthy are his publications.
Maybe some things that quack are ducks but not all quacks are ducks. In the meantime, the money machine keeps getting oiled and before long total confusion will set in and who will notice?
Grany, Shalom! I hear you about the growth of secularized ministries (does anyone here TRULY believe the "Prosperity Gospel" preachers?) One reason I enjoy Mother Angelica and Father Corapi isn't just brand preference; it's because I know these people have taken specific vows before G_D regarding how they live their lives.
In the case of Mother Angelica, she has taken a vow of poverty, meaning the only possessions she can truly call her own would fit easily into a small suitcase.
In the case of Father Corapi, he had been living the high life in Hollywood as a financial adviser to the rich and famous, until he lost it all after becoming addicted to cocaine. Now his focus is on catechesis. And while I know I can buy materials from his website, I cannot recall a single time when, at the end of one of his presentations, there was a voice-over pushing his latest book. (This is one of the things that I dislike the most about Perry Stone's "Mannafest".)
I know there are a great many Protestant ministers out there who are effectively living vows of poverty simply by being a minister. I've met far too many teachers and insurance salesmen who had been ministers but had to leave the ministry because they couldn't raise their families. We must continue to use discernment in evaluating the lessons our shepherds are teaching us.
In closing, here is a link (Franciscan brothers follow in St. Francis' bare footsteps) and a story from Spirit Daily.com:
When the great Thomas Aquinas visited the Vatican, it is said that an officer of Pope Innocent the Fourth brought in a bag of money. The Pope reputedly said to Aquinas, "You see, young man, the age of the Church is past, in which he said, 'Silver and gold have I none.' To which Aquinas replied, "True, holy father, but the age is also past, in which he could say to a paralytic, 'Rise up and walk.'"
<><
Just letting everyone know hat we're still here. We just moved into the new house but still have lots of work to do cleaning the old one and unpacking stuff.
JIM C.
I like that quote of Aquinas and I believe that there is more than a little truth in it. If I believed in God for only the things He can give me or provide for an easy life then I would be only a "rice Christian". But knowing Jesus Christ as my own personal savior is reward enough and I mean that with all of my heart. The hard places are the ones that shaped my trust and total faith in God's Word. When we dice what God's word has said to all of us, we are no different than what the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob did with Moses after he sent the 12 spies into the land that God had promised them. It was doubt in God's provisions and promises that made them make a 40 days trip into 40 years of wandering.
I too have problems with the super sales pitch Jim and yet I know that the books and material he produces is the only income he has. Nevertheless, how fast will all of it dissolve under God's judgment?
Someone once asked me if our little community had a certain denomination represented and I kinda chuckled and said, "well yes, you could say that. There are probably at least 6 or 7 of that group, plus all of the others. How did that happen? Fussing and feuding about things that should have been settled in the manner that Scripture tells us.
The only church that doesn't have multiple gathering places is the Catholic church.
Grany, Shalom! I prayed over whether I should reply to your comment, "The only church that doesn't have multiple gathering places is the Catholic church." Yes, that is true. The reason that it's true is that a Catholic service isn't just about bible study, flipping through your bible to follow along with the references the minister is using in his sermon. It isn't about lifting your voice in song praising G_D. And it isn't about the coffee being served after the service (although I know a few Lutherans who might disagree with that!)
No, the Catholic service is about something that you simply cannot find anyplace else except in a Catholic church: The physical presence of G_D, the Word made Flesh, tabernacled on the altar in the form of bread and wine.
What got me writing this reply was, after praying, I ran across this website: Science Tests Faith: Following the trail of the Blood of Christ It's a site promoting a video from Australia that has an attorney and a TV investigative reporter analyzing a Eucharistic Miracle. That is where shortly after the Consecration, the bread turns into human flesh. In one case, the researcher took a sample of the flesh and sent it to a specialist to run some tests and determine what it was. It was a few days before the specialist got around to looking at the sample, and as soon as he did, the specialist called the researcher. The tissue sample was cardiac tissue, from the heart, blood type AB. But that isn't why the specialist was calling the researcher. "I want to know what you did to this guy! This is living tissue!" (IOW, it had been taken from a living, beating heart, and after a few days under the slide cover it was still living and beating!)
What got me linking it here is the second link on the page, the interview "with two elderly blind people who were miraculously given site during this film." These are two people with macular degeneration, who went to see this film, and found that while watching the film they could see the screen with crystal clarity. Elsewhere on the site you'll find a link to an hour-long (i.e., 40 minutes plus commercial) program that had been on Fox. The people who made the movie investigated a woman in Bolivia who experiences the Stigmata. What's even more interesting is in segement 3. While interviewing the woman, her face suddenly changed slightly, and you can tell she is looking at someone over the shoulder of the interviewer. (When you are looking someone in the eyes, your eyes will flick back and forth as you focus first on one eye then the other.) When the interviewer asked who she was looking at, she said, "Jesus." Later on, while the producer was with the video editor, the editor noticed that as soon as she began focusing on whatever was behind the interviewer, something started being reflected in her eyes -- a beautiful golden light.
Just my ramblings on this Saturday night. Sleep well, everyone.

JIM C.
That was very interesting and I appreciate your reply. However, in our instance it is simply because there are very few Catholics that live here. About two years ago, maybe 3, they only had services once a month and the priest came from somewhere outside of our community.
Besides that, I doubt seriously that the Catholic church will not allow churches to be built when ever the mood strikes.
Our problem here has been much less glamorous. If the churches truly preach, teach and live what God's word tells us there wouldn't be room or season for fussing and fuming. Gossip is the #1 cause of most fueds but so are ungodly actions and fleshly teaching. When ever the Body of Christ plays to the flesh you will have the same results as the God's Chosen people.
Going to church on Sunday and Wednesday night is not the whole story. Flipping the pages on my Bible will merit a good swat up side the head and all the singing in the world will not produce true faith in God. That comes from consecration by the believer to live God's word daily. No, living the Word of God and seeking His favor in every aspect of life doesn't appeal to many people but it is the main needed assignment.
I can't get there by my deeds but faith without works is dead. So, I have to put the two together and I can't say that success is always there because any of us can get it all wrong. That is part of working out our own salvation. Membership in any church will not save any of us. Only the Blood of Jesus Christ has the atoning power for my sins and the only way I can have that is knowing and accepting that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was crucified, resurrected and now sits at the right hand of Almighty God.
Without Him everything else is as filthy rags but you already know that and so, maybe someone just dropping by here will read what I have said and it will cause them to come to the saving knowledge of the Only Begotten Son and his redemptive power.
Shalom my friend

Stuxnet
In July, Microsoft released a Threat Research report on a new virus threat called “Stuxnet.” The virus, Microsoft says, uses a new method of propagation.
It transfers itself from a USB drive like a thumbdrive or an external hard drive automatically as soon as the drive is browsed by the operating system.
According to Microsoft, the Stuxnet began targeting machines specifically in Iran and Indonesia and had begun spreading slowly across the globe.
“In terms of numbers of attacks, the most reports are coming from the US, Indonesia, India, and Iran. When you factor in the number of MMPC monitored machines along with the number that are reporting attacks, the US falls further down the list, giving way to Iran and Indonesia with attack attempts far higher than the global average.”
Stuxnet doesn’t target ordinary computer users. It targets the types of industrial control systems built specifically by the German manufacturer Siemans.
Siemens was involved in the original design of the Bushehr reactor in the 1970s, when West Germany and France agreed to build the nuclear power station for the former Shah of Iran before he was overthrown by the 1979 Islamic revolution.
Stuxnet isn’t actually a virus, a distinction without a difference to most people, but actually two entirely different mechanisms. Siemans says said the malware is a Trojan worm with tremendous destructive capabilities. According to Symantec, the antivirus giant behind Norton Antivirus,
“By writing code to the PLC, Stuxnet can potentially control or alter how the system operates. A previous historic example includes a reported case of stolen code that impacted a pipeline.
Code was secretly “Trojanized” to function properly and only some time after installation instruct the host system to increase the pipeline's pressure beyond its capacity. This resulted in a three kiloton explosion, about 1/5 the size of the Hiroshima bomb.”
Noted the Toronto Globe and Mail:
"Vice Admiral Bernard McCollough the head of the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Cyber Command, told Reuters on Thursday after testifying about cyber operations before a House of Representatives Armed Services subcommittee, that the worm “has some capabilities we haven’t seen before.”
On Wednesday, Army General Keith Alexander, head of the Pentagon’s new Cyber Command, said his forces regarded the virus as “very sophisticated.”
The Israeli website Debkafile describes Stuxnet as “the most destructive virus ever devised” and says that among its functions was to periodically transfer classified information from the infected computer to computers abroad.
“This was the first time an Iranian official has explained how the United States and Israel intelligence agencies have been able to keep pace step by step of progress made in Iran's nuclear program. Until now, Tehran attributed the leaks to Western spies using Iranian double agents.”
A report from Computerworld confirms the Debkafile’s assessment of the worm’s destructive capability under the ominous headline, “Iran nuke SCADAs saturated with Stuxnet infection.”
Stuxnet, "the most sophisticated malware ever," has been found infesting Iran's nuclear installations. Speculation continues that this was indeed the intended target of what the mainstream continues to call a "virus".
Stuxnet has been attacking SCADA systems in Iran and Russia since at least January 2010.
“According to the Tehran-based Mehr News Agency, Mahmoud Alyaie, an IT official with Iran's industries and mines ministry, said that 30,000 IP addresses in the country had been infected with Stuxnet. Multiple computers can access the Internet via a single IP address, so the total number of infected Windows PCs may be considerably larger.”
I didn't mean to offend anyone with my comments but if I have, please accept my apology.
Talk to you all much later.
Grany
I heard a strong argument on the radio today against preterism (the idea that most end time events described in Revelation and other books of the Bible happened already).
From Wikipedia: Partial Preterism holds that prophecies such as the destruction of Jerusalem, the Antichrist, the Great Tribulation, and the advent of the Day of the Lord as a "judgment-coming" of Christ were fulfilled in A.D. 70 when the Roman general (and future Emperor) Titus sacked Jerusalem and destroyed the Jewish Temple, putting a permanent stop to the daily animal sacrifices.
Anyway, the argument against this position was that there is overwhelming evidence and agreement among scholars that Revelation was written around AD 90 and the book of Revelation is clearly Jewish apocolyptic literature that speaks of events the writer believed were yet to occur. Thus, events in AD 70 could not possibly be the events described in Revelation.
I found this helpful.
Summary of Christian eschatological differences
Jim C.,
I noticed they grouped the Roman Catholic Church's basic interpretive and hermeneutical approach to the Bible under the Allegorical or Mythical hermeneutical approach. That doesn't seem to fit the way you or Mark Mallet view prophecy and end times events. Am I missing something? Do you think the article mischaracterizes the RCC approach?
There is LOTS of UFO related events going on lately.
Someone @ the Vatican astronomy dept. said he would baptize Aliens if he was asked to.I'd love to baptise ET, says Vatican's stargazer.
The UN just opened up a new dept. hired someone for an "Alien" contactee person- just in case.U.N. Appoints ‘First Contact’ for Visiting Space Aliens
CNN reports that officials are coming out in the open stating UFO's have been tampering w/our nuclear facilities.UFOs Eyeing our Nuclear Weapons?
It's beginning to look a lot like deception! Every where we turn.
There's Aliens here & there. In movies & in the air. An astronomer will baptize them all!
It's beginning to a lot like deception! The UN is rolling out the mat.
They'll welcome them in our land & walk w/them hand in hand. Right into Satan's sharpened claws!
Lisa, that video was interesting. It is a satanic deception for sure. Did you watch the "V" series that was telecast 6 mos ago? I watched just a few episodes but it was quite amazing. What what meant to be a propaganda movie actually worked the opposite. Most who watched it began to see our present gov't as the "alien infiltrators."
This latest video you posted, maybe just more propaganda to scare people into convincing their gov'ts into non-proliferation after all.
I've noticed it, too, and am quite astounded at how much serious consideration it's being given...esp now that the ex-military men are planning to reveal what they've been keeping quiet.
I was watching a message today and the pastor mentioned as an aside about Noah and his family being preserved because they were the last humans who hadn't mixed/blended/colluded with the fallen angels that were present on the earth at that time. They alone were pure and God, after many many generations of long suffering/mercy, was finally ready to cleanse the Earth of the filth that it had become.
Got me thinking because we know how God likes to work in cycles/patterns/types. If the ark represents the mode of salvation for those who have been deemed pure (for us, Jesus represents that ark), then would it not be possible that, just in Noah's day, there will be a collusion of humans and fallen angels before God's patience comes to an end and He calls us out of the world? Sure seems that humanity is being groomed for that connection and the world is falling for it, almost with breathless anticipation, to hear some speak of what lies out there. Also makes me wonder what the world that Noah lived in REALLY looked like. We always think of him living amongst people who just did as they wanted and that's bad enough. But to think about what he saw in terms of the mixing of human and fallen angel/demons is just beyond our imagination.
Blessings,
Jen
Confidential Briefing from Mike Evans
that was an amazing article
I just watched the snippet of the interview that FoxNews did with Ajad and they also mentioned the hotel being in chaos and the delegations fighting, just as was mentioned in Lori's article. Reminds me of how the Lord threw the enemy armies into confusion and chaos during battles that Israel was fighting. I think we'll be seeing lots of scenes like this unfolding in the future as He makes His way toward our redemption. Exciting times!
HI Folks, just checking in! I hope all is well with everyone!
Our son got married a couple of weeks ago so between that and everything else I haven't been focusing on the news, etc., all that much lately.
Hope all is well!
Jen, That's a great reminder. No matter the odds the LORD can always throw in a monkey wrench.
Even @ a personal level w/situations we may face in the future.
Lori, I didn't watch 'V'. I purposely don't watch anything to do w/Aliens Hybrids UFO's or the like.
The reason being I don't want to cloud my mind w/Hollywood scenarios. Not that it scares me or I wouldn't find it interesting.
I just try to keep watch @ a Christain discernment standpoint w/what could possibly be real facts. Then I listen to see if the Spirit would say anything.
Tonight "Be Aware" resonated in my spirit so I just informed my Bible Study group of the general info in the last links I posted.
But from what I've heard from other Christians who have seen these films is that it's almost too close for comfort.
Joel's blog entry today is very interesting. Mis-information (as opposed to dis-information) is an under-appreciated tactic in warfare. It reminds me of something I read a few years ago.
When the Concorde was being designed, the Soviet Union was in a tizzy. They had to produce a commercial supersonic jet before the West in order to prove the superiority of Communism over Capitalism. Since there was no hope they could catch up with the west, the KGB was ordered to steal whatever plans they could. The KGB became so desperate they got sloppy, and both French and British intelligence became aware of their efforts. What they did was ingenious: they created a set of Concord blueprints that were exactly the same as the originals, except designed so the center of balance was about 5 feet to the rear of where it was supposed to be. This wouldn't affect the plane during flight, but it would make the plane wildly unstable when landing. They then allowed the plans to be stolen by the KGB agents.
A few years later, the USSR unveiled their commercial supersonic jet two weeks before the British and French unveiled the Concord. Dubbed by the West "The Concordsky", the jet made its first appearance at the Paris airshow, where it wowed the crowd, up until it crashed when trying to land. It was put into service in the USSR as the way to get from Moscow to Vladivostok (on the Pacific Ocean), except it had a horrible safety record when trying to land. They tried using it to carry freight, but they eventually gave up and quietly retired it from service.
BTW, Jim G., I'll get back to you soon. Trying to work through some stuff here.
And Lisa, that CNN report doesn't surprise me in the least. My Russian-born wife had friends in the military, and it was an open secret that these UFOs were common over the Soviet missile sites too.

"My dear apostles, you are proceeding through your time on earth amidst many changes. Exteriorly, there is a great deal of motion and upset, which affects God's children. Some are affected negatively and some are affected positively. Who is affected positively when there is suffering? I ask you this because I want you to view suffering from the perspective of one who trusts in God and trusts in God's plan for all of His children. If you trust God, then suffering is viewed more simply, whether it is your suffering or the suffering of those around you. If you are suffering, then you are called to endure, but not without God and not without God's grace. If someone near you is suffering, then you are called to offer compassion and even assistance if possible. You have the grace to understand your role and to understand your response, whether in your own suffering or in the suffering of those around you. In every experience in life, temptation is possible. If all is going well for you, then you may be tempted to become complacent about your response to the many graces I give you. I would prefer that during times of relative ease, you praise Me and be alert to helping others. If all is not going well, there may be a temptation to believe that your prayers are not heard by God. I would prefer that you use these times to practice trusting Me. Offer your suffering to Me with a heart that shares My experience willingly, not resentfully. Dear apostles, we are together, you and I. The unity we share was always intended by the Father. All is well. Do not be tempted against Me if you are suffering. I will never leave you and I will use your suffering in ways you do not understand yet. You will understand later and you will be so grateful to Me because I offered you these learning experiences. Rejoice. I am always with you."

Agreed, Mike!
Shouting big praises here this afternoon. We've had the tropical storm remnants all yesterday/overnight and today is very windy. We have a big tree in the backyard that's rotting at the base which I've been wanting to get rid of, but it would require a tree company to come and do the job. Well, about 3:30 this afternoon, I heard a big crack and the kids came running upstairs to tell me that a "really really big stick" was lying in the backyard. I looked out the window to see a 30 foot section of "stick" (ie. very large trunk/branches) lying between the shed and swingset, inches away from the bottom of the slide. It had broken off at the base and fell inward (through a fence) but didn't do a lick of damage to either structure, just knocked down a section of fence. And because it's still so wet outside, the kids were inside today, out of harm's way. Had they been playing outside, I'm guessing it would be piling leaves at the bottom of the slide as they were doing all week before the rain came. And the trunk (which Bob and I struggled to move) would've come down right on them. God is so good and merciful and His timing is perfect...He got rid of the problem for us and did it so that nothing was damaged or harmed, including my most precious cargo.
Praising Him today!
FSGTB,
Jen
LOL, so much for my multi-tasking efforts...I was replying to an email and then switched over here, but combined my thoughts. No mystery Mike here, in case you were wondering!

Video worth watching
I won't be able to check to see if this goes through correctly since the hospital as blocked out you tube. if you all post here that I can get. let me know if it does not post correctly. this is well worth watching and is a very timely message. Daivd Wilkerson is one of the preachers. I'll have to see if I can chase down the FB post where my friend told me who all the pastors are
list of pastors featured in video
"David Wilkerson, Senior Pastor of Times Square church; Carter Conlan, Pastor Times
Square church; Keith Daniel, evangelist from South Africa; Leonard Ravenhill from Britain
(a good friend of AW Tozer); & Jim Cymbala, pastor of Brooklyn Tabernacle."
I have no idea how long ago these messages were given but they are just as timely if not more timely
Jib, The old timers-that was good! D.H. can't stand the screaming sermons & always leaves the room.
I don't mind if they yell as long as truth is coming off their lips-fine w/me!
Let's see if this works- if so it's some pictures of Melanie "Mutton Bustin" at the Rodeo a couple weeks ago.Roughstock Photography
Lisa,
I love the sheepish grin on her face!
Jib,
Excellent video! Thanks for posting a link.
Here's a link the the website cited early on in the video. Looks good.
Holy Desperation
Lisa, did she stay on for 10 seconds?
<><
I think it was 8 seconds. Not bad at the speed the sheep was going.
Now Hal Lindsey is on it. Hal Lindsey Report- Are UFO's Real? Warning.
Hi all. We're finally out of the old house and into the new one.
We still have a lot of unpacking etc. Alesia has been working non-stop washing and moving things.
But it's a big beautiful house and the Lord has blessed us abundantly.
We'll have to get some pics up of the place.
How is everyone going?

Mr Carroll, you conjure up an image that causes me to splutter in my coffee. I would be more than happy to make a contribution for a new pair.
The U.N. "Alien contactee" news article was debunked. It appears a newspaper reporter started the rumor but Mazlan Othman responds to it here:UN official denies she has role representing Earth.
Does anyone here listen to Carter Conlon's sermons? (Times Square Church) I only heard the very beginning of last Sunday's, but he said that NEXT Sunday he will be giving a prophetic message. Just FYI
Anne,I haven't heard of him. Perhaps we should take note of what he says and see whether it comes to pass. I confess to being skeptical when someone utters prophetic messages.
Don’t look up?
Mac, Carter Conlon is the senior pastor at Times Square Church which is the church David Wilkerson started. Wilkerson still preaches there on occasion. If memory serves me (and this is becoming a problem as I age!)Conlon's prophetic messages are more general (hard times ahead) and not specific (earthquake next Tuesday). Some thought he implied something major would happen about a year ago, but I'm not sure he said that or if some misunderstood him.
I understand and agree with your hesitation about prophetic "words from the Lord" though I do believe it happens.
Just realized I didn't post a link for Times Square Church Sermons
Lori, have you decided what you will do with Off The Wall News?
To all; I have not been given a release to resume the news. We did pay for another year to hold our URL's. In the meantime I am studying His word and taking Hebrew classes and also catching up on some much needed housecleaning.
Miracle in the desert
I believe it happens as well, Anne. I'm just the skeptical and cautious type.
Lori, sad to see the "News" not happening. But the Hebrew study sounds great. Wish I was smarter, I wouldn't mind trying it as well.
Mac, even though I'm taking classes, I am also using some FREE resources available on the net & my iPhone. Cartoonhebrew.com and hebrew4Christians.com are great resources for beginning. On the iPhone, HeAlphaSB, and Hebrew Essentials are both free and very helpful. Our Hebrew teacher started by having us ask God to teach us. So far it's amazing how it clicks. It is certainly a lot easier than Latin (2 yrs!)
This post appeared on a Catholic web site, but I think you'll agree that you can substitute "Christian" for "Catholic" anywhere in it and it still rings true:
“O Stupid Catholics, Who Has Bewitched You?”
We live in a society where many people with power, possessions, and prestige are promoting ideas that are not founded in Christ.
In order to promote their ideas over ours, they tell us we must stay in our churches, keep our religion to ourselves, and that their idea of separation of the church from the state (which does not exist in our American constitution as they say it does) trumps any ideas we might have, so we have to shut up. And Catholics sheepishly keep quiet and vote for men and women who promote evil.
In chapter 3 of Galatians, St. Paul, frustrated with the Galatians allowing non believers to silence the truth even to the point of the Galatians returning to pagan or evil ways chastises them saying, “O stupid Galatians. Who has bewitched you?”

my dad is having a lung biopsy tomorrow. I have some concerns about the surgery but it is in God's hands. please pray for him and for my mom and for me for calmness
JIB,
Praying and believing for your Father, Mother and God's perfect peace to cover you like a cool breeze.
JIM C.,this is just too much to be a simple coincidence but your posted comment about Galatians and "Who has bewitched you?" goes right along with the sermon I watched from David Jeremiah's site. His topic is "Amazing Grace" and he started the series in September out of the book of Galatians.
Wow! I think I will go watch it again. The whole thing is about God's grace being all we need coupled with our faith in Christ Jesus but the message was great. I really needed to hear it today, especially.
Everyone have a great week and maybe this will be the week to "Pan Out",
Grany
Praying for all, Jib.
I agree with your comments, Jim. In fact I passed that link onto my step-daughter as well. It's a subject we've discussed and which has broad applications.
Lori, I love Latin...I don't know why. Like I said...I wish I was smarter.
I'm sure you'll do fine with the Hebrew.
BTW, Grany, I ended up getting Bibleworks 8 as a software program because, apparently, it's better for original language exegesis. Now all I have to do is work out how to exegite.
Now all I have to do is work out how to exegite.
Exegite? Isn't that something that collects on your thighs? Or is that the "odd-flavoured" substitute for peanut butter that Australians eat?

Any Miracle Can Occur When We Provide God An Opening And Are In 'Union With His Vision'
It is the Spirit that organizes our organisms, and that includes our bodies; it is tapping into the Spirit that thus causes healings.
<><
Did anyones else misread a word in that quote in Jim C.'s last post or do I just need prayer?
I was thinking "What???" which fortunately caused me to reread it.
Well, Jim, if you and your wife pray together at bedtime and dedicate yourselves to each other and to the Lord, there's no telling what will happen.
Go read the book of Tobit for a good example of that.

lol
JIM G AND C,
Oh, my gosh! I didn't see it the first time I read it and only with Jim G. pointing it out did I see it. Oh, my gosh! Now I think I shall go read Song of Solomon to top off the day!
All humor aside, I am finding it a little difficult to get caught up in blogging lately and I cannot figure it out. Is it because we have discussed all of the subjects to the point of it all being irrelevant? Can't decide but all of a sudden I have this tremendous urge to get my HOUSE IN ORDER and it is amazing the amount of interference I have started receiving in getting it accomplished.
People that I truly cherish and felt were my Christian brothers and sisters seem to be having a lot of the same thing going on in their lives. I wonder if that is a symptom of the Winnowing Away that God's word tells us will come about before we board our heaven bound vessel. Don't know but it is a deep seated desire to not fall for the games of the evil one.
We need more discernment now than ever. Having said that I feel kinda like the country girl wandering around in New York City without a clue where I am heading but just keep on moving.
Carter Conlon's sermon yesterday, Revival is Coming and What It Will Look Like was both exciting and sobering. He had what he called a vision (I think he said for lack of a better word) in 1981 which he believes is now coming to pass. The vision included the church embracing the Todd Bently type of apostacy and other "fleshly" religious stuff (he didn't name names) followed by economic crises which include municipalities lacking the funds to care for parks. This part was specific. Following this comes the revival. He spoke about a two year time period during which we will suffer persecution, but I was distracted while listening and think I will go back to listen again.
Interesting.
I am always interested to hear others' thoughts on these subjects.
Oh, Jim G, I did the same double-take. Great minds...?
ANNE,
I listen to Carter every chance I get and yet I missed out yesterday. Watching Gloria Copeland and Billye Brim on kcm.org all last week and this week also. But Carter has the same passion for God's word and living that David Wilkerson has had all the years I have known him. Never thought they would ever find anyone that could hold a candle to David but they did.
Now I am going to go partake of Carter's sermon on line.
Funny thing about all of this is the world has already begun to hate the passion of the Gospel and shun the one very important command that Jesus left us with "Love the Lord God with all of your heart, mind and soul; and your neighbor as yourself".
When I was just a kid we had our neighborhood parks and the families took turns keeping the parks clean, mowed and pleasing to sight. There were a lot of things we did because we cared and took responsibility for keeping everything clean and respectable.
We did the same thing with the cemeteries where our loved ones were laid waiting for the shout. Remember, not everyone had a car, and certainly not riding lawn mowers either.
We can do whatever is required and we can even find our voice to praise God while we are doing so.
Grany, I confess to having experienced spiritual oppression in the past week. Nothing major, just the thick sludge that makes walking across the fields after a rainstorm such a joy. I managed to break through some of it (I think/hope) this afternoon when I finally posted something on CAF that I had been wanting to post for a while, but kept getting distracted and sidetracked.
Some things coming up to be aware of: (information from Debka.com)
1. Ahmadinejad will be visiting Lebanon on Oct. 13-14. At that time he will go to the border with Israel and throw stones into Israel. (Gee, nothing symbolic about a head of state throwing stones at another country, is there?)
2. Iran has imported 2,500 soldiers into southern Lebanon in advance of the visit.
3. There are reports circulating that Tehran and Damascus have approved a plan to allow Hizballah to take over the government of Lebanon. This would probably begin on the 15th, no later than the 17th. Even if not true, the rumor may be destabilizing enough to allow the takeover to occur without a shot. If true, having 2,500 Iranian Revolutionary Guards on site probably won't hurt "to move in and stabilize the situation."
4. Once the takeover is complete, Hizballah will be able to move rocket launchers into place. Rockets provided by Syria will be able to reach Tel Aviv and can carry chemical weapons as well as conventional explosives.
5. Once the takeover is complete, all that will be needed will be for Hamas (which has begun getting funding from Iran) to get control of the PA. This would most likely occur on Oct. 20, when Hamas and Fatah are scheduled to meet in Damascus for "unity talks". If Lebanon falls, I don't give much hope for those Fatah members to walk out of the talks alive. By the 21st Hamas would be in control of Samaria and Judea (the PA). This would make everything complete for the War of Psalm 83.
6. Oct. 23 is the 72nd anniversary of Kristalnacht, the beginning of the Holocaust.
Should be a fun-filled couple of weeks. Plus, there's still the chance of a major earthquake hitting the US between now and the middle of November.

I've got to complain to Google about this blogger thing. It's getting tiring getting that "URL too big" error every time I enter more than 3 paragraphs.

Anne, That was an awesome sermon thanks for posting it!
Just came across this article-was well written Spiritual Gifts in the Body of Christ
Fable of the Porcupine
It was the coldest winter ever - many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions even though they gave off heat to each other. After awhile they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. This way they learned to live with the little wounds that were caused by the close relationship with their companion, but the most important part of it, was the heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive.
Moral of the story:
The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but the best is when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities.

Israel Is Not A Real Place the Pope Proclaims
I don't know how many of you keep up with Sean Osborne's blog site "Eschatology Today" but he has an update to his latest entry regarding the really fast approaching blood bath about to happen in the Middle East. But HERE IT IS .
Anyone want to guess who will be the "dirty dog" in the name and blame game coming out of WH-DC?
Anyway, good to keep up with what is going on.

How the Boogie Woogie is done
Grany, I bet you can do that. ;)
ANNE,
YEP! and still do. DJH and I can cut a mean rug when the mood hits. We just found about 200 40's 78 records (the ones your play on a skinny post at 78 rpm and get this, a bunch of Glenn Miller that are in pristine shape. Bigger job than my hope can manage.
I'll see you Around sometime.
Lisa, I'm trying to balance my reaction to that article by focusing on my rule, "Never attribute to malice what you can attribute to stupidity", but that Williams guy is jumping real hard on the scale.
One of the people over at CAF, after I posted the link there, replied to the author pointing out that the Pope didn't say Israel wasn't a real place, but that it's "not of this world" -- IOW, Israel in the Bible can be viewed as a "type" for Heaven.
<><
I guess the guy really is an idiot. He IS a Ph.D. after all...

I have a new post on my blog
Ph.D = piled higher so it is deeper
"Ph.D = piled higher so it is deeper"
I like that.
Thanks for the tip, Grany. I haven't been to Sean's in ages.
I'm feeling really blessed at the moment. My lovely wife is due home soon and I'm here typing in the library looking at the Autumn/Fall leaves on the trees and ground. I should try to take a pic.
Uncle Bob sent this email to us and I thought you might be encouraged by it.
A few weeks ago Barb had a mammogram and it turned up a lump that was very, very close to her lung. The next week she was sent to another place for testing to confirm it. They did two more mammograms and an ultrasound to make completely sure. It was definitely confirmed. They
scheduled a biopsy to be taken this week.
Barb, being one of those secretive people from Maine, would not let me tell anyone what was going on. I did slip and mentioned it to Tondra who had her church pray for Barb. I, of course, prayed a prayer of faith, too, and was totally convinced that God heard and that the biopsy would be benign. I had no fears at all. I was at complete peace about it.
This week, though, God went above and beyond what I had asked for
in order to make it crystal clear that He was the One who took care of everything. For when Barb went for the biopsy they did another mammogram so the doctor would be exact in the location for the procedure. Surprise! Surprise! There was no lump there at all to biopsy. After much discussion it was decided that Barb should come back in six months to be checked again.
Folks, once again we have seen a miracle from God's love.
I am writing this to give Him the praise He so richly deserves. Love, Bob
Thanks for posing that, Lori.
As Marge would say, God is good and good all the time!
Shouts of Joy!
ugh.
Christian refugees turning to prostitution to survive
Damascus (AsiaNews) – Chaldean Christian refugees from Iraq are turning to prostitution in order to survive in Syria. Fr Farid Botros, head of the Chaldean community in the Syrian capital, is concerned about the trend, which is growing to hitherto unknown levels. “We have about 4,000 Chaldean families from Iraq, some fled with just the clothes on their back with a death threat hanging over them. Under Syrian law, they cannot work. Many do something underground; others, more and more, turn to prostitution,” he said.
Muslim superheros for children
should make blood shoot out of your eyes!
If we all begin praying in earnestness for those Iraqi Christians, God will turn their circumstances around. Are you willing?
SOMETHING YOU MIGHT FIND VERY INTERESTING on a slow Saturday. In fact, it is one of the smoothest ways IMO for Israel to warn Assad. Maybe some of the officials of Israel should come to the USA and teach our kids how to handle bullies. Or better still, how to stop the joy of bullies.
Jim C, Yeah I caught that too when reading the article but I'm also watching to see if this "out of this world" statement ends up justifying a stance that the Vatican will back dividing the land of Israel.
After all, since Israel can also be classified as "spiritual Israel" then God wouldn't be opposed to dividing "natural Israel" & parceling it off to whatever political/religious organizations work out in the best interest of "Peace" for all.
To me it's more of a veiled statement as to their ulterior motives.
David & Goliath an End Time View

I think I will go join the Israeli Army and leave Bama to all of you.

wow-Is 17 almost happened in early 70's. that is rather mind blowing. What do you think Bibi's answer would be to the same question in these times?
I can't seem to get signed in to my blogger account again, so I had to post as Anonymouse. I haven't changed my password but now it doesn't the PW doesn't work.
I did the two previous ANonymouse postings but I had hoped you all would know that.
Now to the question of 'what will Bibi do in the same instance'? Carry out Is. 17+Ps. 83 because one will require the other. I am hoping he will approach the whole issue as a professional BeeKeeper would approach a new hive. Lots of Smoke Screen prior to the actual act.
Do you all get the feeling that the Iranian computer virus was the stealth bombing that our "FRIENDS", only ones, in the ME carried out? Do any of you likewise get the impression that was one of the reasons they kept so quiet and settled during all of the "Peace Talks" with the PLO.
You have to really look at the whole picture to see the signs along the way but Bibi was not the least bit ruffled by the whole process and the State Department wasn't doing their usual arm breaking antics to the same degree as they have before.
One lesson to learn in all of these years of Israel watching has been the quiet times almost always produces a major victory for them. When they get quiet, watch out! They seem to know their adversaries in a very real way but more importantly, it is never the obvious methods.
That is the major reason I DO NOT BELIEVE they had anything to do with the assassination of the man this past summer. Since when did Israel ever need to seen in so many assassins to dispatch one lone, sick man? NEVER! Nope, it was a trumped up charge of the worst kind and I believe the whole lie was hatched by t he main leader in the Mocha House of DC.
Well, now I have to get to work solving my question of what to wear to church. Can't go as the Emperor's wife in her new suit of non-clothes.
Shalom all,
Grany
Grany
wondered if it was you.
And something else I do not believe and I call it total deception. You call it what you will but don't take the scriptures out of sequence; they were put there in the manner that they will proceed. We are NOT in the seals or trumpets saga of the bible and I don't give a flip who thinks otherwise. AND the rapture is not about the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. It is about the Church Age coming to a completion. You'll know for sure if all of a sudden you find yourself flying away without the benefit of wings, airplanes or a Obama program. Then from heaven you will get to meet Your Savior face to face, answer for a few deeds and words wasted, put on beautiful clothing, and then mount your white steeds and come back to finish the fight against the enemy of our faith. We win because Jesus will destroy him with the words from his mouth that pierce through like a mighty sword.
And one other thing; Islam is not the beast! Maybe that is what the 'great minds' are selling their books and wares about now, but when the smoke clears from the battleground, there won't be any Mohammad lovers around and the beast will still have to appear on the scene with the AC.
I know you didn't ask me but never the less, now you know.
Hi Guys,
Things are really slow, this must be the longest lasting post since inception. It is now a month and we have only done 129 posts....
Hope all is well with you all!
Watching and waiting on the ME to see what is going to happen next.
It is all in God's perfect hands and timing.
help I need a verse/passage
I believe there is a passage in which Paul states he was born for the purpose of taking the gospel to the gentiles-can anyone help me out?
So, that's why I took note of this passage this morning when I read it...so I could pass it on to Jib! Is this the one?
Galations 1:15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, [Greek set me apart from my mother's womb] and who called me by his grace, 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone;
Hey, Grany, I love it when you talk like that! Nope, we're not in the seals or trumpets - not the way I read them anyway.
Jeri, say hi to the family.
Yep, it's been quiet and I guess we've all had our reasons. I still think Facebook is moving people away from blogging. The OL fluctuates as well.
Ha! The pastor at church today asked the congregation to whom Peter and Paul were sent with the gospel...Jews or Gentiles...how funny that several of us have that on our minds!
Jib, if you can afford it I highly recommend Bibleworks 8 . It costs around $350, is blinding fast and has one of the best search features and original language studies resources.
Gal 2:7 But on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised
You gals and guys are fantastic and I know that without exception. Do any of you get the feeling that God is the one who called us to gather at this Blog and keep each other pumped up and ready to fight the good fight of faith? I will tell you that there is nothing on earth or Facebook for that matter, that can compare to this type of forum. I know Facebook is fun and chummy but it just isn't the same. I don't feel as comfortable there as I do here.
Now I have figured out why I couldn't get into my blogger account. I changed the password, marked "keep me signed in" on the blog with the old password. Seems to be working now. That part of Blogger reminds me of my granny, of years ago. Never could find her scissors that she used when she crocheted, though we kids had taken them, and then found them in her pocket.
Am I saying I am getting like my granny? Yep!
I have to Speak to that Mountain of forgetfulness and tell it to take a hike. My Marge taught me that one.

since my hubby just bought me an ebook reader doubtful that the other will happen. he also bought me an interlinear Bible a couple of Christmases ago.
Anne
you win that is the exact verse I wanted thanks! I did a search using the word "born" in the Blueletterbible engine but that one did not come up. my next piece for our deacon's corner for the church newsletter for December is going to be "Born for a Purpose". You can see other months by clicking on my name and going to my blog.

meant to post this the other day but the group Women at Risk (WAR international) might be able to help those Chaldean Christians. Helping women avoid that situation is exactly what they do.
To all
my dad is home from the hospital-has end stage lung disease although people can live for many years with end stage lung disease. he will be on oxygen permanently which is kind of a blow. They figure either the rheumatoid arthritis he has or the meds used to treat the RA caused this issue with his lungs. Oh well. thanks for your prayers.
All well thanks, Mac! How is your family:-) Alesia is very quiet...
I agree with you Grany, I prefer the blog to facebook.
Jib, praying for your Dad and family. A friend lost his wife to colon cancer on Wednesday last week, aged 42 and with 2 young kids 13 and 10! Very sad for them but a release for her and a big plus - she found The Lord before passing:-)
To all others out there keep on keeping on and keep looking up!
Jib, praying for your Dad, that he learn the joys of redemptive suffering (uniting your suffering with the suffering of Christ, usually for the benefits of others. The painting on the page is "The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian" -- can't find the artist.)
Jeri, will pray for your friend and his family. On a positive note, I don't know when she was first diagnosed, but G_D did not take this wife and mother until her children were old enough to really know and remember her.
Grany, re: your memory -- It could be worse. You could be looking all over the house for your glasses and finally find them where you pushed them out of the way, on top of your head.
<><
Anonymous (Grany?), I have to differ on you re: Islam. Scripture tells us that there will be those who cry "Lord, Lord" and who have cast out demons in His name, yet they will be unknown to G_D (their names not written in the Book of Life). Even if most of Islam should come to know and believe in Jesus as the Son of God, I have no reason to doubt that there will be many who are so invested in Islam that they will continue in their belief and be even more involved in fighting against all the unbelievers.
<><
Jib, also found this on redemptive suffering at "Light and Life: Theology for the Laity" :
Redemptive Suffering
... St. Paul was so filled with the idea of the redemptive power of suffering that he exclaimed: "I find joy in the sufferings I endure for you. In my own flesh I fill up what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ for the sake of His Body, the Church" (Col. 1:24).
Those words of St. Paul are a puzzle to some, for they seem to imply that something is lacking in the Passion of Christ. St. Paul is speaking here of the Mystical Body of Christ, made up of Christ, the Head, and all souls in the state of grace who are the members of His Body. It is in the members of His Body that something is lacking. Shortly before He died Christ exclaimed: "It is consummated!" He says in effect: "All is accomplished that I came to do. By My painful obedience to the Father I offered infinite reparation for the sins of mankind, and merited the restoration of grace for the whole human race." There is no grace that comes to any human that was not merited by Him. He had no need of any other in redeeming the human race. But Jesus willed that the mystery of His Passion continue on in us, so that we may be associated with Him in the work of redemption. Jesus could have accomplished this alone, but He willed to need us in order to apply the infinite merits of His Passion to souls.
Mr. Carroll,
I knew you would disagree but I still hold to my statement. The beast is not Islam, PERIOD! No matter how or what tries to make it so, it just does not fit.
The scriptures are very clear on it and if there was a two prong view, I do believe with all my being, that Abba Father would have said so in His Word! No matter how much we might like what it says, God is the author and he has already warned that not even a dot or a tittle be changed in it. AND YES, I fully understand what a "dot and a tittle" mean.
ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: Dr. Fruchtenbaum's book "Footsteps of the Messiah" is now available for Kindle and any other ebook reader. The cost is so low that I cannot believe it but there it is. Dr. Fruchtenbaum has also published for Nelson's computer bible program, so Arlie Frances has stated in one of my newsletters. So, if you have Nelson's Electronic Bible Study program (not sure which edition) you can get most of his material through them to work on your program.
I'm excited. I've just ordered equipment for my home gym and the weights set is arriving on Friday!
The only thing is that it is 400lbs spread over 5 boxes which I have to carry up our drive from the street to the front door!
Hope I don't put my back out!

Mac;
Sooo... you're spending good money to buy heavy things that you want to lift so you can be able to carry heavy things; yet you're worried that when the heavy things arrive you'll have to lift and carry them... Hmmmm....
Is this some kind of Australian thing or what?

Mr Carroll, I knew you'd see the..."irony".
LOL
Mr. Hydieho;
Just remember: God is an iron.
(Comes from a Spider Robinson short story of the same name. One character says, "If a person who indulges in gluttony is a glutton, and a person who commits a felony is a felon, then God is an iron."

I had the strangest thing happen today. And well, yesterday too.
Yesterday it was dark, cloudy, raining all day. I'm driving down the hill w/a great vantage point of the sky & in front of me is an open space in the clouded sky in that looked like an almond shaped eye. In the "eye" was blue sky w/sun light above. The rays didn't shine though the opening too much but there was a strip of white cloud along the top that looked like eyelashes.
Ok- so I took it as God's eye watching all things even though down on earth is darkness & gloom. (Not the "all seeing eye".)
Then today I inadvertently call the wrong phone number. A lady calls back-sounds to be in her 80's & said I had left a message on her answering machine but I dialed the wrong number.
Then out of the blue she says: "I hope your family is Christian." I assured her we were & had a little chit chat.
Go Grany! Bring them to Christ from your rocking chair! That was so awesome - now I wonder what the Lord had impressed upon her heart- the time is short?

Lisa,
Good way to remember that even when the weather is overcast or just plain gloomy, above it all the SUN is shining, clouds are moving and the wonderful blue heavens are always there. Just the same as God's presence is always there. That was a good experience you had.
Oh, by the way, I don't know of very many Grannies that spend their time in a rocker anymore. I know I sure don't and neither do any of my friends. But sharing Jesus is a pure joy that causes us to comb our hair, spruce up a bit, grab our keys, purses and jump in the car to carry someone a home cooked goody as a door opener to sharing Jesus and his message.
Now that the hot weather is more or less behind us, the wonderful smells of pies, cakes and hot rolls will begin filling the air around here again.
JIM C. I don't get it! Help my understanding of God is an Iron. Why? Because he irons out all of the wrinkles in our lives? Or is it because His strength is my endurance?

Grany, it's simple:
A "felon" practices felony;
A "glutton" practices gluttony;
An "iron" practices irony.
In the short story where this comes from (GROSS over-simplification to follow), it begins with a man walking into a room and finding a girl there hooked up to a machine to help her commit suicide painlessly. He disconnects her from the machine and begins to nurse her back to health. Along the way, we learn why she wanted to kill herself (raped by her father at 15 for coming home drunk one night; when he died his will left her "$25, the going rate"; and that was just the beginning). She has lost everything, even herself; and so with nothing left to lose she decides to end the pain. At the end of the story she is screaming this at the man, and then asks "Who the hell ARE you anyway, and what the hell are you doing here!?" The man replied that he only came to burgle the place. So when she had nothing left to steal, the man who came to steal from her wound up saving her life. If that is irony, then God is an iron.

Grany, My mom who's a Grany 80's spends her whole life glued in front of the T.V. set. It's her company. Does a rocking recliner count as a modern day "rocking chair"?
I'm thrilled you & those in your company are "on the move"!
I'm just so frustrated w/my mom. She's been though a bunch of health problems (cancer & other)& called me yesterday while her JW sister was out shopping.(She drove down from Ohio to help her out.)
Mom was distraught that she couldn't get her T.V. turned on & was almost in distress thinking that maybe her sister wouldn't be able to figure it out when she came back either.
So I mentioned that this would be the perfect opportunity to read the Bible I got her. It's a historical one w/lots of great info/pictures included. She responds w/a weak:
"Oh yeah, that would be a good idea but.............I just don't know why my T.V won't work."
She might as well melt all her gold jewelry & pour it on top of that T.V. set so it looks like what it really is to her.
A GIAGANTIC IDOL! UUUUUGGGGRRRRHHHH!
The worst part is how I can see how continually watching
"Oprah", "Maury Provich", & other “talk shows” has over time eroded her previous “traditional” worldview.
Now she’s so open to whatever is currently the norm & is straying from the biblical worldview she held when I was a child. I was not raised in a Christian home but they did stand by Biblical morals.
You sit there and listen to the drumbeat of Satan enough years though the T.V. screen & then you begin to question yourself & what is truly right & wrong. It's even a battle for Spirit filled Christians so you can imagine what it does to everyone else.
GOD TOLD ME SOMETHING I WAS NOT EXPECTING TO HEAR!
by David Wilkerson | October 20, 2010
One night during a prayer meeting, God told me something about our church I was not expecting to hear.
The Lord whispered to me, “This church needs shock treatment! Too many have grown satisfied and complacent. You feel safe and secure from all the winds and waves of false doctrines sweeping over the land—but you are not prepared for what is coming!”
Beloved, the message of having the Spirit’s witness functioning in you is not a request—it is a matter of life and death! If you don’t have the witness of the Holy Ghost in these last days, you’re not going to make it! You’ll give in to the coming spirit of the Antichrist!
You need the Holy Spirit witness every day—on your job, at work, at school. You need to rightly judge politicians and leaders so you’ll not suddenly be sucked into the antichrist system.
This is what Jesus was trying to tell us about the foolish virgins who ran out of oil for their lamps. They had a supply of the Holy Ghost—but they didn’t have his witness at the final moment.
Don’t end up a foolish virgin! If you are running out of oil—trusting your church or your pastor to keep your soul—then repent! Humble yourself and search your heart! Cry out to God to rid your soul of all anger and bitterness. Confess your sins and forsake them. And depend on God once again for everything!
Get the peace of God in your heart, so you can have a Holy Ghost witness. And ask the Father for a greater enduement of the Spirit. Invite him to be your witness and guide in everything!
We face a cost of going all the way with Jesus, but we also will receive a reward: It is simply the blessing of having Christ stand with us. There are many other rewards as well (see Matthew 19:29), but I mention this one because it is all we will ever need.
When Paul was imprisoned in Jerusalem, the whole religious system wanted to kill him. They accused him of polluting the holy place and preaching false doctrines. His life was in danger; even the soldiers were “fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces” (Acts 23:10). So they took him by force and locked him away in a castle. The next night the Lord himself spoke to Paul, and what a word he brought: “Cheer up! There’s even more trouble to come!”
The cost of following Christ was clear in the lives of these men of God—and if we are going to be like our Master, then we must embrace this cost as well. Enduring it becomes a joy because Jesus promises to stand with us in every situation. And we can face anything or anyone when we know the Lord stands with us.
So count the cost and know that your reward, in all things, is the precious presence of Jesus Christ.

LISA,
I just copied the URL for David Wilkerson's article (same one you posted) and then got side tracked by my DJH. I really felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to share it with everyone but had a slight delay.
WOW! This message has to be very important for both of us to feel the need to get it circulating.
Thanks for getting it done quickly.
Grany
LISA,
Just finished reading your comments and I have a suggestion regarding your Momma. I only know one person that can drastically change your Momma's heart and you know who I mean. Yep! The Holy Spirit. Now let's pray that her deliverance from TV addition be quick, complete and replaced by such a love of Jesus Christ that everything else pales in comparison.
Now let's add to it! If everyone on this blog, whether you post or just read, pray for Lisa's Mother also that her hearts desire be directly to the Lord, she will be saved, set free and be all that God intends for her to be.
My DJH is closing in on 83 and he just was saved this past spring. His life is not of sitting around watching TV but he has become energized to the point that he now can sleep almost through the whole night. Used to be up every 2 hours and worn to a frazzle by morning. He doesn't run for exercise anymore and he does walk a little slower but at least he isn't a veggie trying to take root in the recliner anymore. I won't say that everything is perfect but at least the things that were eroding his health are taking a back seat now and we can talk without shouting at each other.
Lisa, you say the word and the prayers will begin in earnest!
Grany
Praying for your mother, Lisa.
New post is up. I'll leave a message to read the prayer request here.
