"To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You;
Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me....
"Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day."

HELLO, I'm number 1
(Jesus)
It is interesting, Lisa! I think it was viewed by most of the U.S. It was said you could read a newspaper by the light of the "falling stars."
Here's another article about it:
More on falling stars
A quote from the article:
In 1879, 46 years after the 1833 Leonids, the Pantagraph [a newspaper] published a local reminiscence of that miraculous night.
"Sometimes the shower would slacken for a moment or so, and then it would renew until the very heavens seemed to be ablaze," the eyewitness wrote. "But I am attempting to do what I promised myself I would not undertake - to describe a scene which no imagination can conceive, nor tongue or pen portray."
I love the quote you've put up, but also view it with some sadness. It's the basis for one of my favorite hymns, "I Lift Up My Soul". Unfortunately, in 2008 the Vatican directed that the word "Yahweh" may no longer be used or pronounced in songs and prayers during liturgical celebrations. There was concern over the lack of reverence in using His Name in a number of the songs, so the practice was prohibited. The song was reprinted substituting "Lord" for "Yahweh", but it just doesn't scan the same.
You can hear the old version in this YouTube video.
Another one WHAT BP AND GOV DON'T WANT PUBLISHED . I don't know if it has been posted yet but I just found it after watching JIB's link.
Good one, anonymous.
Yes, Jesus is number 1 here!
fyi we wer out looking at the stars wed or thur and within the space of 15 minutes we saw 3 falling stars-rather unusual for us to see that many in a short time unless the Perseids or Leoneids are active.
hope if this goes it's in august or thereabouts-we have relatives who live in houston and they will be in Ohio then.
perhaps what happens in the Gulf depends on what the US does to Israel.
Jim
would the methane bubbles expalin the Bermuda triangle? if the area in the gulf has a propensity to such bubbles seems to me that might explain it
JIB,
that link Jim posted on the previous article talks about the Bermuda Triangle. That article is very well written and I let DJH read it too. Then I sent it to my friend in Bartlesville, OK and he has already responded back. I also sent Jim's comment from the previous page. Jim you did a great job and also, I really like your favorite song. Too bad they took the effort to change Yahweh.
Take care everyone.
Grany
Jib, yes, the methane bubbles can explain the Bermuda Triangle, as well as other places around the world where ships have suddenly vanished. There was a program on the Discovery Channel about 2 years back that explored the possibility. They even went so far as to have an airplane engine running, then blew measured concentrations of methane into the air intake.
And Grany, yes, it's sad about "Yahweh", but if people are not going to respect the Name of G_D, what else are you going to do?

JIM C.
That is a very good question my friend. I remember when 9/11 happened and everyone knew who God was because they kept asking "Where was God when this happened?" but really meaning "why would a loving God allow this to happen?". What really ANGERS me is the coverup that the mm are conducting. Thank God for the ability to tranverse the Internet and know the differing views on it. I will not say it is all truth but it sure isn't all truth on the news channels either.

I was listening about the Oil Spill & then... well hang in there-it turned out to be quite interesting. Gulf Oil Spill - BP Knew - Prepare your children
Grany, I was wondering if you could let me pick your DH's brains on this subject. I need some input from a geologist/ hydrologist. This whole "gas geyser" thing has gotten people upset at CAF because one of the members lives in the region of Brenham, TX, between Houston and San Antonio. If the conditions I described in my earlier posting are true, she's toast.
So that got me doing some number-crunching. (It's times like these I think I oughta start keeping this stuff on a blog, so that it's all in one place. Of course, I'll keep it up in my copious spare time...)
OK. I've been doing a bit of research, trying to figure out what the wavelength would be in a tsunami caused by a gas geyser. While it's clear the details are WAY above my skill level, I think it's safe to say that there's been more than a little fear-mongering going on here.
For starters, there's this web site: http://www.seafriends.org.nz/oceano/waves2.htm. Although the details are scarce (this is a site geared to kids, after all), there's enough info to show that perhaps there are quite a few more factors to consider when predicting damage. I'm going to focus on Texas, because that's where Dawn is.
The site covers wave damage from a number of different sources. The 2004 tsunami was from the sudden uplift of a large section of the seabed, which means its structure and propagation was different than one resulting from an undersea landslide or from an undersea volcano. However, the physics of waves remains the same. For example, we've heard about the possibility of a tsunami occuring from the collapse of the of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma in the Canarias archipelago, resulting in a 120-ft high wave hitting America. The scientist who predicted this, Simon Day, based his calculations on the assumption that the collapse of the volcano would result in a single solid block quickly sliding into the ocean. However, experience shows that such landslides don't occur as large solid blocks, but as multiple, smaller blocks breaking up as they break away, and sliding into the ocean relatively slowly. The result would be a much, much smaller wave. (I'll let you read the webpage for details.)
(cont.)
(cont. from above)
To summarize, the Gulf Coast is relatively shallow. You're not going to get waves faster than 400mph in that water, and those speeds will drop as they get closer to shore, and drop rapidly as soon as they hit land. Looking at topographic maps of Texas (http://www.mapsofworld.com/usa/topographic-maps/texas-topo-map.html, http://www.geomart.com/images/raisedrelief/tx.jpg) you'll see that while the coastal regions will certainly be inundated (bye-bye Houston) the land actually rises quite quickly after that. By the time the water would have reached Brenham, it will have had to travel uphill 104 meters (341 ft, or higher than a football field set on edge.)
Each gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs. That's pure water, though, and the water WON'T be pure. It'll be seawater and filled with things like oil, dead fish, cars, and abandoned bolo ties. (No hats, though -- a Texan wouldn't be caught dead without his hat. So to speak...) So let's say each gallon will weigh about 10 lbs. Each 10 lbs of water will have to be lifted up 341 feet to reach Brenham, so it will take 3,410 foot-pounds of force for each gallon of water to reach the height of Brenham. Considering the number of gallons we're talking about, that's a LOT of force we're talking about. That's not counting the force it will take to push the water inland that far -- almost 300 miles from the coast. That's also not counting the force it would have expended making its way through Houston. Dallas is at least another 100 feet in elevation, and another 400 miles inland
No matter how I crunch these numbers, I'm reaching the (admittedly non-professional) opinion that while it's POSSIBLE for a surge from a gas geyser tsunami to reach the outskirts of Dallas, it certainly wouldn't reach Dallas for several wave cycles. (IOW, not until almost everything had been swept out of the way from the previous waves.) What IS possible is that the surge would push its way up rivers, causing regional flooding.
So, what does your DH say?

actually Jim you are only partially correct in your assumption regarding land slides. There was a massive tsunami in Alaska several hundred feet high caused by a massive land slide as a single block of land and i believe that is what the calculations were ultimately based on. sorry don't remember where or which show I saw that on. perhaps if you google Alaskan tsunami?
this isn't what I saw but it does talk about landslides causing waves of 200ft in height. tsunamis cause by earthquakes as I recall from the show can not rise more than 20 ft in height
Great Alaskan tsunamis
i might add this is why I'm not from Alaska. Remember Alaska became a state in the not to distant past and the feds passed a homestead act to get people to move up there and be pain for doing so. My parents were actually ready to move up there until the earthquake and tsunami-mom said no and that was that
JIM C.
I would have no problem with DJH delving into this but he and his brother are on their way to Odessa, TX right now. They will leave Odessa on Thursday, going to New Mexico to attend some reunions. Then on to Colorado for some sort of flying contests. I am going to enjoy the free time for about 36 hours and then my cousins are coming up from Texas to spend a week with me. Why anyone would travel in this heat is beyond me but they are a lot younger or tougher than I am.
When I read your first scenario from the previous post to Jim, he only said it seemed a little far fetched to him and one of the things he mentioned is the distance the possible tsunami could travel. But I do have an idea, of sorts. I found THIS SITE FOR THE UC - DAVIS and the first name mentioned sounded like someone you could ask his opinion on the whole scene.
If DJH was here he probably wouldn't want to get involved because he gets too nervous just hearing the news regarding the whole mess. He had a lot of friends were geologist and active in the field but they have since departed for the great unknown of eternity.
I wish I could help but it is beyond me.
Anyone else here that can assist in this?
Now I am wondering if any of this mess is related to the rumbling going on in Oklahoma over the past few months. A question was fielded to OU about the possibility of oil drilling being the cause of recent earthquakes that have taken place near Okla. City. If earthquakes follow fault lines and fissures in the earth, what is to keep oil and mineral deposits from forming in similar manner?
One more question to your theory: have you factored in buoyancy of water traveling at a high rate of speed? Such as the kind that follows after a motorized boat (smaller scale of course)moving across a quiet cove and the effects it has on other such craft sitting still. Then the effects of using the same water surge to steer into a dock safely. You remember all of those things from your days at Lake Okoboji don't you?
Wish I could help but I know you will find the answers and if I find something solid regarding an expert to discuss it with, I will let you know.

BP RESPONDS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT POSSIBILITY OF TSUNAMI
I don't like what I am finding out about this mess and I am going to get off of the puter for the night. I am going to teach my kitty cat to bark and raise a ruckus like a mean dog until DJH gets back home. Cousins coming is welcome news for me.
Ya all sleep peacefully tonight. No sense you staying awake when ya all know that God never slumbers or sleeps and he is a lot better at protecting and preventing than any of us are.
Love ya,
Grany
I'm leaving FL for several days on Weds and will return on July 2/3. We would appreciate prayer for the safety of our 2 oldest children (24/22) we will be leaving in WPB, and for travel.
I may suspend the news from Weds to July 2/3rd. I don't know if I'll have access to the net where I'm headed.
Jib,
I had included the Alaskan incident in my original message, then edited it out for space. The event wad the 1958 earthquake in Lituya Bay, Alaska. Lituya Bay is a narrow channel, almost like a lake. This focused and amplified the damage of the tsunami. Simon Day used this event as a basis for his theory of the possible La Palma tsunami. However, the amount of potential material at La Palma is at least 1,000 times more than the material that was dislodged at Lituya Bay, as well as being a different composition (i.e., not as likely to act as a single block). There's no evidence that the effects scale up, and in fact, several computer models call Day's calculations into question. Plus, at La Palma there would be nothing to channel and focus the wave -- it would be spread out along a 6,300km front, unlike the tsunami at Lituya Bay.
I went to bed last night with so much apprehension... about our trip, our kids, finances, future. I let the enemy do a number on me. Why? Cause I was plum tuckered out. Well, I woke up with His promises on my lips.
God has not given me a spirit of fear, but he has given unto me a spirit of power, a spirit of love and a sound mind.
Be anxious for nothing.
...For the Lord himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
I do have new information on the "spill," and I will use quotes from now on.
Gulf is Okay
Actually, Grany and I had a little discussion the other day about this very topic. That this is a ruse, a way to claim imminent domain. This is already a problem in S Fl and several counties have been exposed and then sued in the past for the aggressive takeover of property. For instance, the county said the airport noise was too loud, so they offered meager buyouts of homeowners near the airport. Most did not want to move, including a deaf family that was not impacted by noise. The county evicted every last one of them. That was just west of the airport. Then they did the same thing east, and one homeowner who had literally built his wife's dream home, was refusing to go. It was a paradise. It looked like something in another country like Spain where they have a walled in atrium before the entrance to the front door. The county took his home. Adios amigos. The contractor for the project moved into his home. Ooops, we weren't supposed to find out about that one, huh?
Anyway, I've been reading a lot of material coming out of the Untied Nations and a great deal involves relocation of populations. Practically every country is face with "immigrant" problems. And Boo is just trying to come on board with the other UNdone nations.
The UntiedNations makes a proclamation, and then the commander and thief tries to implement the changes here in the US, and he's got a lot of help from his longtime cronies.
So, what this boils down to is this, I believe the above link more than anything else I've seen. I know for a fact there was an explosion out there and people died. Everything else, is most likely a big facade.
BTW: My son went to the beach yesterday again and spent a long time in the water. He never saw one tar ball or oily spot on the water and the Gulf Stream is closest to the US here in West Palm Beach. A lot of residents are scratching their heads.
Look at some of these articles if you want to know more about the UN'srefugee information They have pet words like "displacement" "refugee" "independence from colonization" "internally displaced persons" which they call IDP's. This is another problem, I've never seen an organization or network of organizations that is so engrossed in acronyms, which makes research even more difficult.
LORI,
Does the recent news regarding the Lil One seem strange to you? I call it really weird.
I will be praying for you and yours.
Cousins are getting here this evening so I will only be on and off the computer at the most. Everything is fine but some of the plans have been changed.
Stay cool everyone and MAC/ALESIA is the knot tied yet?
Love ya all.
My DH said it will take longer for the oil to arrive on our beaches. I guess time will tell. Also, after rereading the article I posted, I'm beginning to wonder if that isn't another Sorcha Faal report. That doesn't mean that NONE of it is true.
There's an oil spill in the Red Sea
Iran is offering to "rescue" Obama on oil spill...
oil turns to tar when it hits water. When we were in Belize in the early 70's, all along the shore and definitely on the beaches, the tar was on everything. The natives would go out in the morning and cover them with a coating of sand, rake them up into a scoop and remove from the beach. When you got off of the beaches, the tar coated the rocks and anything else that happened to be there.
But when it comes to the composition of the depths of the ocean, who knows what takes place then. I would imagine the presence of oil that deep has already been assimilated into life matter in order to survive. Maybe the radio active material that was reported could also be from discharges of natural energy.
I know that the scare campaign is in full swing and there are unscrupulous people and corporations who are taking great advantage of all that is going on. Not everyone or company will be a victim. Only those that are caught unprepared and uninformed.
Can't think about it anymore because the more I concentrate on it the less I can concentrate on the issues of life.
Praying, Lori. And will be missing the updates.
Grany....very, very soon!
Mac/Alesia,
I am getting very excited about this and the thought just crossed my mind; Before the rapture please Lord!
The Name of the Star is Wormwood This is kind of interesting on the symbolism of the BP logo.
Joel Rosenberg says that the Pres should accept McCrystal's resignation. "... by agreeing to be interviewed and profiled by Rolling Stone magazine, allowing his staff to participate in those interviews, and his and their collective and repeated acts of insubordination to their civilian leaders and to American allies shows a stunning lack of wisdom and judgment."
I absolutely agree!
In fact, I think both of them should resign;-)
Mac and Alesia,
Please keep us posted with your fantastic developments:-)
God Bless
jeri
JIM G .
Absolutely agree with you. Both McCrystal and Big BOO. Of course, he told it like it was but some things are better off left unsaid. Just smirk and get on with life.
However, it could be the perfect way to exit a loosing situation when all other alternatives are exhausted.
I watched Pat Robertson last night with my company and he was discussing the Ez. 38 and 39 classic buildup in the Middle East saying that with Turkey now in the camp of Russia and Iran, the pieces are all together for the first time ever. He had a huge map up and when you see it that way, it begins to make a lot of sense. He isn't always right on and he does seem to rankle the press but truthfully, he hasn't been that far off. God is Love but he is also a righteous God and he has always been up front with what sin and rebellion will bring about.
I noticed that no one is saying anything about Louisiana's fate in this oil spill mess. Anyone here care to offer an opinion?

*Hello Uncle Erwin,***
This is Amir writing you after reading what you sent to my father, Eitan.
As you know, it was my unit and my friends who were on the ship. My commander was injured badly as a result of the "pacifists" violence. I want to tell you how he was injured so you could tell the story. It shows just how horrible and inhuman were the activists. My commander was the first soldier that rappelled down from the helicopter to the ship.
When he touched ground, he got hit in the head with a pole and stabbed in the stomach with a knife.
They cut his ab muscles horizontally and by hand spilled his guts out.
When he drew out his secondary weapon-a handgun (his primary weapon was a regular paintball gun: "Tippman 98 custom") he was shot in the leg. He managed to fire a single shot before he was tossed from the balcony by 4 Arab activists, to the lower deck (a 12 feet fall). He was then dragged by other activists to a room in the lower deck were he was stripped down by 2 activists. They took off his vest, helmet and shirt, leaving him with only his pants and shoes on. When they finished they took a knife and expanded the wound he already had in his stomach. They cut his ab muscles horizontally and by hand spilled his guts out. When they finished they raised him up and walked him on the deck outside. He was conscious the whole time.
If you are asking yourself why they did all that, here comes the reason.
They wanted to show the soldiers their commander's body so they will be demoralized and scared. Luckily, when they walked him on the deck a soldier saw him and managed to shoot the activist that was walking him down the outside corridor. He shot him with a special non-lethal bullet that didn't kill him. My commander managed to jump from the deck to the water and swim to an army rescue boat (his guts still out of his body, and now in salty sea water). That was how he was saved. The activists that did this to him are alive, now in Turkey, and treated as heroes.
I'm sorry if I described this with too many details, but I thought it was necessary for the credibility. Please tell this story to anyone who will listen. I think that these days you are one of Israel's best spokesman.
*Thanks uncle Erwin, *
*Shabbat Shalom!**

The date on that Eagle dream was November of 2009. Er, that's kinda creepy, don't cha think!
Also, the earthquake in Ontario blog has some very interesting discussion going on now.

Neither. After their wedding Alesia and Mac will move to their secret tropical hideaway to start their new careers as members of an international crime fighting force.
(I'm sorry, should I not have mentioned that?)

Here's an interesting set of resources for anyone interested in Spiritual Warfare:
Exorcism and the Church Militant, by Father Tom Euteneuer, president of Human Life International.
The article contains excerpts from the book, and mentions these other resources:
The book — with a foreword by Father John Corapi — is accompanied by two companion editions: Demonic Abortion (due for release on July 7), which explains the demonic nature of abortion and the culture of death from an exorcist's point of view; and Discernment Manual for Exorcists and Pastoral Ministers, which is intended to equip persons engaging in spiritual warfare with all the proper tools of discernment.

I like your idea of a tropical paradise for lovers to become secret agents in a depraved world. But honestly, I don't Alesia and Mac are going to waste time on flushing out criminals. I kinda think in terms of a hammock swaying in the prevailing tropical breezes, the smell of clean air and beautiful birds singing their sweet songs. Mac catching the next meal and Alesia keeping the staff back in Ohio on their toes. By iPad of course.
Then in the evening going for a leisurely swim in the crystal clear waters that surround them, enjoying the coral and salt water fish that peacefully glide through the sandy bottom. No threat of BP, BO, or any other nasty reminders. OH, YES! I can really get with that picture.
Mac and Alesia are getting married on July 2nd.
I am not able to provide information as to their honeymoon location as yet. But I may be contacted via knocking on Alesia's attic door.
I think it's safe to say that I speak for everyone at the cave when I say we are all so very happy for you two. God has used you individually so well here. Can't imagine what great things he has in store for you as a married couple!
You mean July 2nd the sparks are going to fly! It's a couple days early but let the fireworks commence....lol!
We couldn't be more thrilled! Better to get married "before" the rapture since it looks like we're goin solo in heaven. (;

Good explaination of "The Great Assembly" The Revelation of the Catching Away-Perry Stone
Interesting Rapture Vision posted on Rapture in the Air- so detailed- I guess we'll see.(If I do see I'll take the advice for sure!)
RAPTURE VISION FROM 1996
David Daughtrey (10 Feb 2009)
"Rapture vision of 1996"
January 1, 2009
Arcadia, Florida
Hello My Friend John Tng:
The first part of this letter is a little testimonial of where I am coming from. In 1994, while in my worldly ways, the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit finally got tired of my way of life and took me to the wood shed and whipped me severely. I thought they would kill me. I felt they had torn my heart out. I'm talking about mental suffering and pain. I cried and grieved so bad my heart felt like it stopped beating several times. He took one of the dearest things from me, my beloved dog. 1 loved that dog with a passion. She was my constant companion. Every step I took she was with me. She even slept with me. The problem was, I worshipped my dog and she worshipped me (like the Bible says, no other gods before me).
After several months went by, I was still crying daily over her mysterious death. She was very healthy according to the vet. No reason for her death. For several months before her I had a strong feeling that someone or something was controlling my life. Weird things would happen, not normal, like things fall down not up. Whoever heard of 3 or 4 flat tires on your car for 4 days in a row. It just doesn't happen. 1 could reach into a barrel of golden bb's and pull out the only lead one, three times in a row. I am serious. I decided that this was of a supernatural control. Then a friend of mine said, you know, it sounds like God is trying to get your attention. I said, OK, I'll get me a Bible and read it and see if this is my supernatural controller because I can't keep living like this, it's killing me. So I read my King James, and the more I read the more I craved. About 4 books into the bible, I cried and begged the Lord for forgiveness, and he did. God's Holy Spirit came into my body in May of 1994 and cleansed my heart and soul. As long as I live, I will never forget that feeling, it lasted right at 8 hours. I felt like I had swallowed a dozen tranquilizers. I did cry sorrowfully, and ashamed of my past. I know everyone has their own story.
cont...
Two years went by, reading my Bible day and night, and listening to sermons on the radio. I read where Daniel prayed three times a day. I can pray six and I did. I lived and breathed God's word. My family thought I had lost my mind, I was so obsessed. Every minute I was alone, I talked to Him, like He was standing there invisible, of course. I believed He was anyway, even though He said not a word aloud. I probably would have croaked if He actually spoke to me like He did Moses. But I knew I was just a lowly servant, not worth much, surely did not deserve any special treatment.
Well anyway, two years went by, praying day and night. At the end of each prayer, I'd lay in bed and think about Jesus and ask Him the same question every night before sleep. Lord Jesus, will I live to see the rapture? And what did you really look like? Then one night while on my knees praying, I just started, when out of nowhere, like someone flipped the TV on, a picture appeared before my eyes. Flames of fire, dancing all around me moving just like real fire. Well, I knew I hadn't done anything wrong, so this had to be Satan trying to interrupt my prayers. I said, go away Satan, you're not making me stop praying, but they did not leave, so I got scared and jumped into my bed. My wife said, my that was a short one. I said, if you had seen what I had just seen you would have made it a short one too. Well, I decided that would never happen again - wrong! The very next night, the same thing happened again, but this time I was not going to quit, and I didn't budge. Then something happened right in the middle of those flames, they opened up and revealed a road, a long road, it was like I could not go but one way, and if I got off this road, I'd get burned, or my life's road would be through flames of fire. And believe me, the last 13 years has not been a picnic.
cont...
There were a total of 15 visions, most were at night as I began to pray by my bed. I had no control. They started and stopped when they wanted. Each and every night I thought it would be the last one. There was not a sound or word spoken in these visions, just silent pictures. Well, after three visions ended, I thought maybe I had pleased the Lord for Him to give me these visions, maybe a little special. Wrong!
Within 6 months. I had to file bankruptcy, one year later, a massive heart attack, and another year later another heart attack. I don't want to receive any credit for anything. I can't handle any more mental or physical suffering. I don't want God to think I'm getting puffed up. I must get on to the rapture vision.
The Rapture Vision of 1996
The coming events or warnings to happen just before the rapture takes place.
Dearly beloved doves, and brothers and sisters in Jesus name. This is the vision given in 1996 concerning world wide events to happen from one to three weeks before the actual Rapture. This I told to many friends, and was often hurt at the disbelief, and cold shoulders of many Christian friends that I finally just put it on the back shelf, and let it sit for the last 13 years. I now feel that the Rapture is so close that it needs to be told, urgently. I agree with our Christian brother John Tng that there has been so many dreams and visions of the Rapture that probably no one will believe this one either, but that is okay. All I pray for is everyone to remember. Like our Bible says, the vision will prove itself with time and testing. By remembering these visions, it will or can save you much needless suffering. The Lord does not want to hurt his bride.

There is going to appear above the earth (in the sky) a strange object, it will be large and sphere shaped, like a ball. It will look like it's been built in sections, like a football with huge rivets at the seams. Many will call this a UFO, I don't know. It will have the color of copper or bronze. It will be on every TV around the world. People will be shocked like the World Trade Center. People will be glued to their TV's but you don't. The minute you see this, run to the closest food store and get enough canned food and bottled water for about three weeks, because between one and 24 hours after this object is seen world wide there is going to be a massive impact or collision on our sun's surface. It is going to happen on our blind side, we can't see it coming. It's going to be a super size twin asteroid hitting the sun in a vital spot, releasing a major solar storm, knocking out all of earth's electricity, all over the world. Those of you who read this will save yourself and your family much misery.
Now, this is what's going to happen in the next 2 or 3 weeks, while the electricity is off. Within a few days the whole world will start to go crazy with hunger. The banks and ATM's can't work without electricity. No gas pumps for food transportation, no refrigeration, total darkness. The robbers, rapists, and murderers will see right away that no one can call the police for help, because the solar storm has burned up all communication satellites, cell phones and telephones. The law can't even call each other. It's going to be total breakdown in large cities. There will be gun shots and screams all night long. Millions will be behind locked doors, praying and begging for God's mercy, for help and protection. He will answer millions of prayers. Millions will ask for forgiveness, and the Lord and his saints will perform millions of miracles during these three weeks.
Then after about 3 weeks of this, the Rapture will happen. Although there are different time zones around the world, the Lord showed it will be night here in Florida, USA. In this vision, I was taken in the spirit out in the woods behind my house in Florida. During the spring or early summer, it started at night. I didn't hear any trumpets or words (come up hither) but I know there's going to be, because the Bible says so. As I was standing there in the spirit of course, in the middle of some trees, a huge blue beam of light came down like a big flashlight, about a thirty foot circle around me. The blue light was identical in color to a welder's arc light at night. It was so blinding I put my hands over my eyes to see if I could see where or what this light was coming from. Then I noticed in the distant night sky, north, south, east, and west of me, blue colored stars jetting off the ground spiraling upwards traveling fast, they were heading for the bright blue object that was shining that beam of light down on me. It could have been the Lord or an open door to heaven. I really could not tell, it was so bright and blinding. Anyway, these little blue stars were going up in clusters. Different numbers depending on the size of town around me. Then all of a sudden when they reached about 9:00 high they burst into 10 times their size. Then I realized it was those alive in Christ joining those dead in Christ. I was too far away to see any new regenerated bodies or white gowns, but I'm sure they were. Then suddenly I was again taken out of my body off to the side to look at myself standing in the light. That's when I saw my own flesh glossing white as lightning, all my flesh, head and arms, my clothes remained the same. Then instantly, I vanished and my clothes fell to the ground. From what I saw in this vision, I was the last to go because all the alive in Christ had joined the risen dead.
cont..final
The next afternoon, I had been reading my Bible for about an hour and then stood up in my living room to take a break, when suddenly at arm's length from my face appeared a blue cloud, the same color as the beam in the Rapture vision. In the shape of something like a football on its side, about 3 ft long and 2 ft high - white, a brilliant white 21 in the middle of it. I never did understand the meaning of the 21, maybe it was the day of the Rapture. I base no idea, your guess is as good as mine. Well, that startled me, so I sat down, shocked again because this was in the middle of the day and I wasn't even praying. Well, my son was in the kitchen making some tea and he said we were out of sugar. I said OK, I'll go down the road and get some. I began to sit up when this small newborn baby appeared before my eyes. I'm starting to come unglued now, because it hadn't been 5 minutes since the blue cloud, when this happened. I told myself, O my Lord, am I losing my mind? What, O God, does this baby have to do with the Bible? I must be losing my mind. I really started crying, it was blowing my mind. Then I noticed this newborn baby had this horrible growth on the side of it s head, almost as big as the baby's head. It was scary ugly, that's how bad. After about 20 seconds, the vision disappeared, the baby was gone. I told myself I've got to get out of here or I'm going to start crying again. Well, I left and went after the sugar, about 2 miles away. I walked into the store, the owner and myself were the only ones there. He was on the telephone talking to some friend of his. I was at the counter waiting to him to get off the phone, when suddenly a young woman came into the store. She walked right up beside me and spoke to my friend on the phone. She said, you haven't seen my brand new baby have you and he said no ma'am. I happened to look down at the baby and nearly fainted. There was the same baby I'd seen 10 minutes earlier. My legs went like rubber and I had to lean on the counter to keep myself from falling. This action made this young woman mad, I mean angry, my reaction insulted her greatly. She yelled at me and said, the doctor says it's just a birth mark, and it will shrink and go away. She then stormed out of the store. My friend said, did you see that thing on the baby's head? I said yes, I saw it 10 minutes before I came here. That was the last one, never again in 13 years. The only thing I can figure out is, He was showing me that every vision he had shown me was going to happen. My friends, all I ask you is to remember what you read here. It's not important to believe this, but I beg you to remember.
HYDEHO,
I can't believe Alesia would make you stay in the attic, no sir. But I do think you get plenty of coffee where ever you are. July 2nd is a great date and one to counter act all of the dreary days of summer.
My best to both of you and much long lasting happiness and love.

BEYOND REVOLUTION- Return to the True Faith
Mac,
loved the Lambert Dolphin testimony. I can say a big "Amen" to that one. I feel like break dancing again after reading it and thank you for sharing with us.
Besides that, I have no doubt that Miss Alesia is blessed greatly tending to your needs, gleefully! Yes, and amen!
Now a massive Coronal Mass Ejection event is scheduled to occur at the same time as that well known planetary alignment in 2012 - WOW
Thanks for all the well wishes, guys. We've been looking at houses as well so that has taken up a lot of time. There's a wedding, a honeymoon, a trip to New York...looking at houses. My life's been anything but boring!
Grany, I loved reading that article by Lambert. He has a special place in my heart because his website had a large impact on me as I left the New Age.
Maranatha.
Oh, and break dancing is real easy for me. I dance, I break something.
Israel-US relations rocked by 'tectonic rift'
Congrats to Mac and Alesia!! will be thinking of you on the 2nd:) Looks like the weather may be a bit cooler!
Someone get mr hyde an A/C unit for that attic!! unless he really likes this "so hot you can't breathe" weather!!!
hello to everyone else:) lots of cool stuff to read and think about!
Linda in Ohio
Mac and Alesia, I hope July 2nd is a perfect day for you in every regard. God Bless you both.
It is a beautiful day in Oklieland and not near as hot as it has been. I am so very thankful for the relief as my sweat glands are really getting old and worn out from all of the hot weather I have experienced so far. I often wonder about how the ancients of bible times lived in the desert all of those long years and all of those heavy robes. Do you suppose any of them ever complained of the heat?
I am going to post an article that Ray Gano sent to me from Prophezine.com today. It is written by Walid Shoebat and I found it to be quiet interesting. It is long so I will post it in increments. If what Walid says is true, we have a lot more to pray about than just the usual daily things.
Calling all Christians to pray might be the biggest challenge of them all.

Here's Walid:
IS THE PRESIDENT ONE OF US OR SOMEONE ELSE?
By Walid Shoebat
General McChrystal being fired for insubordination is no shock to people in our security and military. A serious pattern, which the media is missing, has now been in process for several months. It must be pointed out that while General McChrystal’s comments were improper behavior not becoming of a commander, however being based on the General’s record why would he have dared to state the things he said to anyone let alone a left wing reporter, this is a question most of the media is not asking?
General McChrystal was highly regarded and very “serious” in his duties as described by many in the center of the political spectrum. He is also probably a moderate democrat or independent, based on the fact that he admitted voting for President Obama, but even he had great challenges in dealing with the amateur and inexperience or could it be possibly be an alternative agenda coming from this current White House administration?
While this story on its own might be construed as just some frustrations being aired and done improperly in public, we have discovered a very troubling pattern from people we have connections with in our security forces which span the FBI, CIA, NIA and the Military.
We received information a couple of weeks ago from a very reliable source in the Intelligence community, who advised us that the real reason that Dennis Blair resigned as head of the NIA last month, was not what was reported in the media but was because Admiral Blair was unable to get approval for any recommendation he had passed by the President. Our source went on to say that the President either rejects or delays all-important proposals from his key security advisers. It is interesting to see how quickly the President has acted in this particular case in firing General McChrystal, the opposite to how he acts normally.
It is no wonder why General McChrystal has spoken out in frustration especially when he once had a favorable view of the President, as it is obvious how difficult it must have been to get the proper support and decision making from his Commander in Chief. The so-called insubordination and relief of a commander in the field has only happened once in the last 50 years with General MacArthur and President Truman in the Korean War. It is beyond doubt that McChrystal was extremely frustrated and it was very probable that the President knew and wanted the General removed. The Rolling Stone magazine article was possibly a deliberate effort to use as a way of getting rid of the General or at a minimum the article came at a very convenient moment.
It is also ironic that General Patreus has been appointed to head the Afghanistan campaign on the ground. This is the same General who was castigated by the hard left as “General Betrayus.” I predict that a similar fate awaits General Patreus as it did General McChrystal. General Patreus’s reputation is currently very high and if the left can squash him too, they will have the best excuse to withdraw from Afghanistan. The story will go like this: since General Patreus, our best General cannot make progress in Afghanistan then we need to withdraw. While the General is trying to do his job the administration will not give him what he needs to win and then blame him for the failure. Some may scoff at this analysis but this is exactly the type of thing that happened with Vietnam.
CONT.
The defense of any nation is the foremost of obligations of its government and based on the evidence that we have shown on our website with reports from Pajamas Media and the interviews with a former analyst at the Pentagon and FBI agent, as well as the apparent rebellion that now appears within the framework of our security apparatus, it is apparent that we as a nation are at great risk from our enemies; this, on top of the serious breaches of security at our airports and military installations.
Eighteen months into this Presidency we have seen a man who speaks moderately and appeals to the ear, however the actions of the President contradict everything that he utters in his speeches and press conferences.
It also needs to be asked what this President’s real agenda is. Is it just folly of appeasement or is it that his agenda is to do our enemies bidding or is it something worse? These are unfortunate questions that should not be normally even considered about an elected President of the United States, however, the evidence of mere incompetence is already valid but I would contend based on disturbing conversations with people in the security field that we need to ask the question, is the President one of us or somebody else?

for those who want to see the epicenter conference that just happened in Phillie
DVD order it's $35
The conference that Joel sponsored in Philly was very good and some very serious stuff talked about. The web site was arranged that you could select either west coast or east coast and I did both. Managed to listen to the Saturday sessions first from the east coast and then repeated on the west coast. I think the DVD is a great idea. The only one I didn't get to hear was the former Hamas member who became a born again believer. Hubby got hungry and I had to miss it.
No telling what will happen today but we are one day closer to the SHOUT
Amen Grany!
we were listening to Frucht in the car the other day and our 7 year old complained because we turned it off to go in someplace. He also said something to the effect that Jesus came the first time, and is coming again-yea. I can't tell you how exciting it was for me to hear the excitement in his voice about Jesus coming again!
have started the Daniel study by Beth Moore with friends at church. it is interesting thus far although I think the lessons are a little long-1 hour video plus discussion of the homework which reminds me I'd better get cracking on that!
for those of you on facebook-Ariel ministries has a world wide Bible study just starting from some of their free material. They want folks to listen to the first section and then there will be discussion
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Fractured my ankle last flirting with Hubby on Roan Mtn, and such a lovely view! Lol
Okay... That last message didn't all come thru. I fractured my ankle last night on Roan Mtn... Lori
Ouch! Hope he's making it up to you, waiting on you hand and ... er ... well, you get what I mean...

Here's an update from Randy and Becky. Encouraging and wise words once again.
*********************
Update: A Bittersweet Father’s Day…
After just three weeks of marriage, Ryan and Melissa will move to England on Tuesday. Hard to believe. It was a surreal Father's day this year as we celebrated in Cleveland and then put JP, Ryan and Mel on a plane back to Florida. JP is now on assignment in Haiti, and the newlyweds are packing to get ready for life, work and ministry in the UK.
It's the end of an era with our kids (who are also our best friends) no longer living in our home. Praise be to our God for the incredible privilege and memories. But bittersweet is a good word, as they are doing His will but now thousands of miles away from us as we base out of Cleveland for this next season. And as I personally have been going through mixed waves of sadness and praise, God gave me the words of John 10 as a reminder of our next wave of "spiritual kids":
"I have other sheep not of this fold...I must bring them in also." Jn. 10: 16
For Jesus, separation from his beloved disciples was more than tough. I am now reading His John 17 prayer and passion with a whole new set of lenses. But as they were “doing life together,” he had also been strategically preparing them for their destiny and God-given, Great Commission assignment. Likewise, we have done our best to prepare our four kids to serve the purposes of God in their generation. Like Jesus, we will continue to pray…from a new vantage point…and take joy in watching them “turn their world up-side down.” And I will try not to meddle…
For Jesus, His call and commitment to the Father's dream was the reason they had been "assigned" to him in the first place. Despite their closeness from daily life and ministry together, He knew in that moment not just that the time had come to trust and let go, but also that they would not be his last “spiritual kids.” And just as mysterious as those “others” of John 10 remain to us (just who was Jesus talking about?), our next wave of kids through the Agora School is just as mysterious right now… who are they? What do they look like and where will they be coming from? And how will we “do life” and touch the world together?
So, like Jesus, Becky and I know "others" are on their way.... and we can’t wait for the joy and challenge. The “bittersweet” of one era is slowly being eclipsed by both yesterday’s incredible joys and tomorrow’s anticipated wave of Agora students. Lead on, Lord Jesus…
Please Take Note: Yes, Becky and I are now basing out of Cleveland, Ohio for this next season. From here, we will be in closer proximity to finalize The Agora School details with both Valley Forge Christian College and the State of Ohio, continue our training indigenous church planters in Colombia and Benin, and finalize our support raising to resource our calling. All correspondence and support will continue to be sent to our Florida address, and phone and email remain the same.
Thank-you again for your personal partnership in the Gospel!
Forever family,
Randy and Becky
Lori,
You have my prayers sis, and I agree your DH will enjoy the privilege of waiting on you hand and FOOT! heheheh
We are really having weird weather for our area. Hot but only 75 degrees but the humidity is horrible. Feels like a sauna out there and almost impossible to breath. We tried cleaning out our eave troughs and it was just too much.
Stay cool, calm and pampers. It feels good for a change.

Target: Fundamentalist Christianity
LORI,
Pampers should have been pampered. So silly of me and goes to show it was a little late for this gal to be trying to comment about anything.
We just returned from a short and fast trip to our nearby city and it was really a pleasant trip today. Our area is being affected by the tropical storms just a little bit but it is to the good. We met an unusual amount of oil well maintenance semi trucks heading west and DJH remarked that it looked like they were returning home from some heavy duty assignment. Then we paid a visit to Hanna Oil in Ft. Smith and the owner is a friend of DJH. He told us that almost all of his drilling and maintenance machines were being used in the gulf mess.
They have the ability to siphon off oil spills from land masses and they are there on standby just in case. He also told DJH that the methane threat was the biggest danger and if it goes it will be a horrendous disaster the likes of which a community organizer is not equipped to handle. Also, no one on board that doomed ship (DC) has an idea what they are doing. It is all about money and not to the taxpayers either.
The consensus of the who industry is we have a pacifier sucking, money grabbing, disaster causing nitwit in the confines of the capitol and no one is doing anything about it yet!
My question to him was very simple. Who is doing anything besides talking and complaining about the situation? No one responded. I really believe it is time for BOO to back off and weigh his words before he utters them, from this point on. I believe the atmosphere is being charged higher and higher with a dangerous and sinister mind set.
We all need to pray without ceasing and not for ourselves either.
Just my thoughts on this.

Lori, I'm so sorry to hear about your ankle. I pray it will heal quickly and thoroughly.
I think I've heard the name Beth Moore mentioned on this blog a few times, (correct me if I'm wrong) so when I checked out the Christian Research Network website Christian Research Network, I was surprised to see this article about her from Apprising Ministries Beth Moore Attacks the Protestant Reformation. As good a teacher she is thought to be, it sounds like she is getting into something we should be aware of.
I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes, just wanting to say a word of warning in season.
God bless you all,
Vicki
Vicki,
Thank you for the link. Never even considered Beth would be part of the movement but I thank you for the material. One of the reasons I am not a person follower. I truly believe that serious scripture study and searching of what God says is more, much more, important and productive than what another person has to say. I highly regard the study of language such as Dr. Fruchtenbaum and such but no one is ever 100% correct.
Easy to get in a ditch when we follow humans. Fog rolls in really easy and ditches appear out of nowhere.
Thanks again,
Grany
Vicki
interesting and somewhat concerning as the contemplative is a red flag but I think the conclusions of the authors of the article are off base. The quote that they use I would have to agree with and i don't think proves there point that she thinks the Protestant reformation was wrong-there are people from all denominations who will be in heaven and some of the barriers we put between us are artifical and should not be there. I think they are stretching there point by saying that anyone who pursues the contemplative is trying to go back to the RCC. I find it some what ironic that you posted this since as a Seventh day adventist-the same men who are posting about Beth Moore would not consider you a Christian at all and part of a cult. One has to understand the background from which Beth comes from as a Baptist. Truly when growing up I was multiply given the impression by my pastor and other's than unless you 100% believed exactly as the baptists believed you were going to hell. They did not accept that people of the RCC and mainline protestent denominations could be true Christians and stay in those denominations. If they were true Christians then they would realize the error of the teachings they were exposed to and join a baptist church. As I have progressed in my faith I have come to realize that there are some things that are non negotiable-the Virgin Birth , inspiration of Scripture, substitionary atonement of Christ's death and a few others. i have however come to the realization that one does not necessarily break fellowship with other believers over things like eschatology, old earth vs young earth, tongues/faith healing vs no tongues/faith healing. I will almost guarentee that these men would not agree and practice at least secondary if not tertiary separation. For those of you who don't know what that means-secondary separation means you don't associate or fellowship with people who associate with people who have different beliefs than yours (some of which may or may not be reasons to break fellowship such as denial of the fundementals of the faith). Tertiary separation means you don't associate with people who associate with people who associate with people who differ from you. Classic people who practice tertiary separation would be Bob Jones Univ and Pensecola in FL.
I thank you for the heads up-I had looked for that type of info and couldn't find it. unfortunately there are a great many who are jumping on the contemplative bandwagon such as David Jeremiah or so I've heard. His dad would be disappointed I think.
jib,
Hmmmm...secondary and tertiary separation. Hadn't heard those terms before. Funny how Jesus didn't even practice singular separation (choosing Matthew as a disciple, etc.) I can attest to your comments, though. My brother joined his wife's Baptist church last year and when I went to visit one Sunday, there was alot of strong evidence that anything other than KJV was frowned upon and lots of phrases from the pastor about having the 'right doctrine', etc. It's been a bit of a stumbling block for my brother as he was enjoying and benefiting from his NIV Bible alot, but became worried to use it in church/Bible study.
Also, just read that Mosab Hassan Yousef was granted asylum and all complaints against him from the gov. were dropped suddenly during his court hearing today! What an answer to prayer! Joel must be tickled pink, too.
U.S. court grants asylum to 'Son of Hamas'
Isn't it awesome when we see our God move on our behalf! I believe that He is always working on the behalf of the righteous but sometimes I feel like I'm spending more time getting ruffed up in the spiritual warfare mode than actualizing the uplifting things the Lord doing in our midst.
This is definitely an answer to prayer- I was so worried for this guy.
Jen
Matthew always did come to mind while I was at BJ. if you want a real life example- Cedarville University, then college and not involved in the emergent stuff and quite sound, was having Warren Wiersbe speak at one of there week long conferences. Dr Wiersbe associated with Catholics and did work with them on things like abortion etc. BJU would not associate with Cedarville and considered in a liberal suspect school because of this conference. Now I will admit it was a little more than that but other things were Cedarville women and men were allowed to date without chaperons, swim together and horrors the women were allowed to wear pants during really cold weather and shorts for PE and the classes were mixed. The only time we wore pants at BJ was PE and the classes were separate and there was no mixed swimming and there was not such a thing as a date without a chaperone. But the coup de grace was having what the considered a liberal speak at the college. He was considered liberal at that time solely on the basis of his associations and nof for his theology-which was identical at the time to BJ.
You are so right, Grany!
Jib,my primary -- not secondary or tertiary :-) -- reason for posting that link was to bring attention to Beth Moore's connection with contemplative spirituality. Like you said, so many are unfortunately getting swept up in this movement.
I found(Lighthouse Trails has information on her as well in case anyone is interested.
I think it is terrible not to be kind and loving to someone just because of their religion. That is wrong on so many levels.
Vicki
Jib,
As far as the Seventh-day Adventist Church being regarded as a cult by some people, if you check it out, it really doesn't fit under the typical definitions of a cult.
The SDA Church has no creed but the Bible. If that makes us a cult, I can live with that!
God bless,
Vicki
Shalom, all. Just putting in a prayer request. A month ago I took a seminar on being a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Rater. I missed the certification exam by one point. It's been one thing after another, but I finally have my retest scheduled for Friday at 9AM.
I'd like to ask your prayers that I be able to study effectively tomorrow, that I pass the test on Friday, and that I win the lottery tonight so that I'll have the money to start a business to make use of my certification.
Or, you know, win enough that I don't have to worry about not working again. Unless I want to, of course. Which I do. Mostly.
<><
Vicki
cute :-) funny you know back when I asked that question I asked because I went to Lighthouse trails and one other and they didn't have anything. as to being "mean" because of other religions-I always though the tertiary and secondary stuff was nonsense and not Christ like. It was one of many reasons I swore after leaving BJ that's I'd never have naything to do with them again. However I think since the old man passed (Bob Jr) they are more mellow if you will and I find that we are using there home school stuff-very ironic that.
i am bothered by the comtemplative movement. thus far I'm not sure if I have learned much that is new but I am keeping an open mind. The one thing I did learn is that the book of Daniel is really the only truly bilingual book in the Bible. Those passages which affect both Jews and Gentiles are written in aramaic, those passages which affect the Jews only are written in Hebrew. Apparently chapter 1 was written in Hebrew as well as part of chapter 2 however all of chapters 3-7 or thereabouts are written in Aramaic. I suspect we'll learn after a bit which other chapters are which. Not sure it is of extreme importance but it is a fascinating little tidbit.;
Lisa
you are right it is quite a praise!
Jim
praying for you. i know how important this is for you. if you become certified will you be staying in IA or moving to where there is a more steady supply of construction going on?
jib,
We went to Grove City which has a Presby background but doesn't strictly hold to those teachings. They're actually more known for being the school that took on the gov in regard to Title IX funding. They chose to withdraw from all gov. funding programs rather than give up rights to make decisions for the school and have been reaping the benefits ever since. We just got a letter from the president outlining the school's financial standing and they're doing great because they aren't heavily invested in all the gov. programs that are currently in bail-out mode.
Anyway, we had some strict rules that all my high school friends scoffed at, but nothing quite as stingent as BJ, etc. I remember when we found out a few years ago that Saturday classes had been discontinued because the elderly steward on the board who had been holding up the change finally passed away. I thought, "what a bunch of wimps! You don't know your inner mettle until you have to wake up on a freezing cold, snowy Saturday and go to General Psychology at 8AM!" At least when we attended, the cafeterias were co-ed as was chapel. I think up til the 70s both were seperated. And I'm pretty sure they still have the shoe-in-the-door visiting hours in dorms. Everyone had a pair of flipflops for that reason :-)
Saturday classes?! wow even BJ wasn't that bad. No co ed visits to dorms at BJ, they had a dating parlor if you can believe that. One could not go off campus as a female student until one was a senior-we always had to go in herds. The male students could go off campus by themselves at anytime.
you couldn't talk to a person of the opposite sex after 6pm and at no time was there talking on the phone to a member of the opposite sex unless it was family. Their rules and regs are the stuff of legencs. I essentially got tired of three things
1-being treated like a child and not an adult
2-i became concerned that the whole interracial dating thing would hurt my chances of getting in to med school and since I disagreed with the policy anyway I left. sure enough it came up at my interview-the Dr wanted to know if I had been there during that time, my opinion and why I had left
3-my dad was now teaching at a Christian school which I could attend for free and everyone knows free is better.
Jib, I'll be staying in Iowa. Anyone building a new home wants to get an EnergyStar rating. They can do it either by-the-book (i.e., prove that each and every one of a couple of hundred specifications are met) or they can hire someone like me to do the tests. There are also energy-efficient mortgages available if you want to improve your existing home's energy ratings. A lot of people are starting to do that -- less expensive to fix up your existing home than to buy a new one.
Here's a hint: 90% of all energy loss in the country isn't due to bad insulation. It's due to ducting problems. If there's any kind of leakage in your heating/cooling ducts, that's going to cause energy to be wasted. If there's a leak in your supply duct (that pipes the cool air into your room) for example, the room won't be as cool as you want it and the cool air will just be vented outside. If the leak is in the return duct, your central air is just going to suck in hot air from outside to make up the pressure difference. Getting duct leakage problems fixed will cost between $200 and $500, and you can save that much in one year of heating and cooling costs.
The thing is, the "energy audits" that the power company provides for free don't test things like ducting. You can't count the number of people that have spent a thousand dollars on new insulation because their energy auditor (power company) told them that's what they needed, but they're still spending a lot of money on heating and cooling.
Thanks for your prayers.

No Greater Love
I hope I don't open a can of worms here but I have a question for those who have a hard time with the Catholic Church and who think Beth Moore's "attack on the Reformation" (I didn't interpret it as such) was some sort of grave sin.
What church (or denomination) do you think true Christians were prior to the Reformation?
Just for fun. I stumbled across this discussion thread. Some folks came up with some really good lists. I guarantee it will bring back memories for many here.
Top ten Christian bands/artists of all time
they would have been Baptist's silly-at least according to my Baptist History text book-which I have long thrown out.
Technically the RCC did not start until it was made the official state church. While the Bishop of Rome reportedly goes back to Peter, the central authority of the church for a very long time was in Jerusalem and the earliest Christians were Jewish. I personally don't think the churches were organized into a unified whole as we think of denominations.
The reason for the Baptist comment was something to the effect that the authors and teacher felt that since the doctrine of the earliest Christians pre establishment of the state church more resembles what Baptists believe than what the RCC teaches and believes and is closer doctrinally to early Jewish teaching as well. of course it was a long time ago so my memory may be a little fuzzy
Has anyone else watched this DVD?A LAMP IN THE DARK
"A Lamp in the Dark is an exciting documentary that shows the intriguing history of the Bible. Enter into a world of saints and martyrs battling against spies, assassins, and wolves in sheep's clothing. Through the Middle Ages, the popes and Inquisition forbade biblical translation, threatening imprisonment and death to those who disobeyed. Learn the lives of men like John Wycliffe, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, Myles Coverdale and others, who hazarded their lives to communicate the Bible in languages people could understand.
With the Fall of Constantinople, ancient Greek manuscripts came into Europe, and with them, the clear streams of understanding that would bring about the Protestant Reformation. But what is little known is that Rome launched a Counter Reformation with the intent of destroying all the works of the Reformers. Could this be the key to the "untold" history of the Bible? And is it possible that this ancient war on the Word of God continues to this day?"
It described quite a bit of detail of the plight of the Albigenses although it didn't describe the details of why the Catholics considered them heretics which is interesting in it's self.
Persecutionsof Waldenses and Albigenses
FOX'S BOOK OF MARTYRS
Jim C., I pray that you will pass your test with flying colors and have so much work, you don't know what to do with it!
Lisa, I haven't seen that DVD but it really sounds interesting.
In the Catholic Church there are MANY wonderful and true people who love the Lord, there is no doubt about that. Unfortunately through the centuries the CC has compromised their beliefs to reach the masses. They did it with good intentions, but it resulted in a mix of bad with the good.
Thus the Protestant Reformation! That's why it's important to study the Reformers to see why they sacrified so much and were martyred in their effort to return to the Bible. Sola Scriptura!
We can see the same thing (compromise) happening in many Christian churches today. The contemplative spirituality movement is an example, which is pagan in origin (Buddhist, etc.).
Vicki
Praying for you, Jim. Interesting stuff re energy costs!
Jan Markell also needs our prayers. You can visit THIS SITE for more info.

SUMMER UNEASE AS EXTRAORDINARY OIL CRISIS LEADS TO 'RADICAL' THOUGHTS OF PROPHECY
I tried to post a comment and Blogger said they were unable to complete it. Anyone happen to get it in their email box? If you did would you send it to me?
Lisa, Shalom! The Albigenses (who followed the Albigensian Heresy) were a sect that was heavily influenced by gnostic and Islamic theology. They taught that there were two gods, a god of spirit and light, and a god of the material world and darkness. The god of darkness was identified as the god of the Old Testament (which also meant that all Jews were evil) while the god of light was the god of the New Testament.
The Waldenses got their name from their founder, Waldes, who was originally a wealthy merchant. Waldes had a conversion experience, gave away all his money and goods, and made a vow of extreme poverty. Not necessarily bad (same thing happened to St. Francis); unfortunately, he was not careful in either the people he surrounded himself with, nor careful in their care. Many of his followers were not only uneducated theologically, but were simply uneducated (couldn't read or write). You can't preach the Word of God if you can't read it. As a consequence, many of his followers fell under the influence of the Albigenses.
Because both the Albigenses and Waldenses preached the need to separate themselves from the world (which was, by definition, evil), this also involved separating themselves from the local secular power -- they neither recognized the legitimacy of the local rulers (being ruled only by God) and also the necessity of paying taxes to said rulers. So both groups were guilty not just of heresy but of treason.
The charge that the RCC "forbade" the translation of the Bible into local languages is so very frustrating to me because it's so easy to disprove. If you go onto the websites of almost any antique book dealer, chances are you'll find at least one, if not several, translations of different books of the Bible into German, French, Italian, etc., all of them done before Luther made his translation. These translations were to make the Bible accessible to the local populations. They could NOT be used for teaching or theological study.
These translations also had to be made by people who were "licensed" (so to speak) to do translations. At it's heart, a PhD is a "license" to teach in that particular field. Da Vinci wasn't suppressed because of what he wrote regarding the orbits of the planets. He was suppressed because in the same book where he described the mathematics of orbiting bodies, he also included his own theological observations. Imagine if Albert Einstein had published a book where he not only described his Theory of Relativity, but also (in totally unrelated chapters) describe his theory of earthquakes, a theory that was totally at odds with what geologists knew of how earthquakes formed. Einstein had never published anything on earthquakes or geology before, and there was no record of him having even studied the topic. How qualified, then, is he to teach geology, and what should be done with this book?
So as with most political works published today, you have to look at both the qualifications and the political background of the people writing about history. Particularly the history of the Roman Catholic Church during the middle ages.

Grany, I just had something like that happen to me just now, saying that the URL was too large to follow. I pressed the "back one page" arrow in my browser, and found that the comment had been posted.

Congratulations Mac and Alesia! I'm reminded today that Jesus first first recorded miracle was at a wedding. The miracles sure didn't end there though! It was just the beginning just as today is just the beginning of a powerful and beautiful ministry for you as a couple.
May the presence of the Lord and the miracles that accompany His presence be with you both today and for the rest of your lives. We love you two and are rejoicing with you today.
So fun to imagine that people all over the world (as well as angels in heaven) are celebrating this joyous event today.

Jim G,
All over the world indeed! How neat that the internet has made the world a smaller place and it was how Mac and Alesia met! :)
Diana in Illinois :)
Jim C., Yes that is what I had read about the Albigenses.
So far from my perspective I have not run across a Christian sect in that time period that was close to the original apostolic teachings of the Word. Seems like so many of them had branched off in the flesh (Galations 5:16-26)& began to mix truth w/error.
But- the Bible did warn that this was going to occur as Paul warns in 2nd Timothy.
Given- I'm not a historical wizard either so there may have been a remnant of believers who stuck closer to the Word & relied upon the Holy Spirit for guidance.
The Albigenses were definately way off track & into false teachings which "the Lamp in the Dark" DVD failed to point out.
However, Christians who feel it
is justified to slaughter their enemies are not being led by God but by the flesh & are not so far removed from the ideologies of Islam.
Anyone led by the Spirt will find truth & anyone led by the flesh will remain or be led from light into darkness. That's just the way it is being born into sin-it's a real struggle.
This quote from Jesus is really interesting since it shows how Satan can work though any one of us - Christian or not. All we have to do is revert to our flesh.
But he turned & said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
congrats to Mac and Alesia today.
We just returned last nite from AR after a long but good trip. We drove just over 3800 miles in our Motor home without any problems, other than strong cross winds. We were able to stay in a Church parking lot on grass, so we saved a few pesos there, PTL. After getting back, we read that there was nasty rain on our back trail, but we just rode the wind home.
We got there in time to "enjoy" record heat, but the day of our daughter's wedding was just over 80, with cool breezes. The service and reception was outside, so we were glad not to have the 104 of the Wednesday before. They did something unique for the wedding in the sand ceremony instead of the candle ceremony (They tell me that sand does not blow out in the wind at an inappropriate time). Unfortunately, I missed most of it, as one of the bridesmaids chose that moment to faint. It was one of those story-book weddings where they say that even the father of the bride looked good.
Blessings to All,
Wayne
Hey Mac and Alesia!
I haven't checked out 'the cave' in months, but I decided to have a quick look today. I saw some comments concerning your nuptials, so my timing was excellent! Congrats! That is great!
As a side note, Debbie and I had our first kiddo on June 16th. Her name is Ruby Glenda.
Everyone keeps telling me how beautiful she is and how she looks exactly like me. I thought those two things were mutually exclusive. Poor kid. I hope she doesn't inherit my hairline. :-)
All kidding aside, she is the second most beautiful thing I have ever seen (second only to my wife walking down the aisle on our wedding day).
I bet Mac will think the same thing about Alesia. :-)
Best wishes,
Harold
Just wanted to let everyone know that I took my rater exam this morning and passed! Now all I need to do is complete 3 supervised ratings and I'll be good to go!

congratulations. being a parent is the best and you will find your life changing in ways you never thought possible.

I knew you could do it. congrats!
it's about our very own Joel!
Lisa, Shalom! You wrote:

When I read this, I was suddenly struck by a thought: Glenn Beck. One thing he's been emphasizing on his show is not to read people who write ABOUT the founding fathers, but to read what the founding fathers actually wrote -- the original texts. The people who's books he's been pushing on his show are people who have interpreted the founding fathers, but have done so by quoting extensively from the original writings. My guess is that you haven't been reading any of the Early Church Fathers themselves; rather, you've been reading people who have told you what they said, without a lot of quoting of originals. I would start with the "Didache", or "Twelve", which is a summary of teachings that are supposed to have been handed down by the Twelve Apostles. It's one of the earliest non-Scriptural Christian writings (traced to around 100 AD, making it written at about the same time as the Gospel of Matthew) and can be considered the earliest known catechism.
Another work you might find interesting is "The Shepherd of Hermas". It was considered so inspired it was frequently read at church services; there was a great push to have it included in the Canon of Scripture, but in the end is was left out because it was composed after the death of the last apostle. However, it certainly influenced early Christian thought, and so is useful for study.
You can find both of these writings at Early Christian Writings. You won't find a lot of Protestants writing on the Early Church Fathers. I know of a minister (Presbyterian, I believe) who started reading the Early Church Fathers while in the seminary. When he asked his teachers about what he was reading, he was told to stop reading them. The writings of the Early Church Fathers contradict and conflict with a lot of what was being taught in the seminary. (Of course, that might just apply to the Presbyterians. You'll have to read them and judge for yourself.)
For the record, there were originally 3 Patriarchates, which grew to 5 for historical and political reasons. Each patriarchate developed a unique "rite" or ceremonies for offering the Sacrifice of the Mass. The five original patriarchates and the rites that came from them are: Latin (Roman), Antiochian (Syrian), Alexandria (Coptic), Constantinople (Greek), and Jerusalem (historical, no main rite associated with it). What you're calling the Roman church is the Latin Patriarchate.
Also, for the record, I agree with you about "Christians justifying slaughter"; BUT keep in mind, these people were traitors. The modern equivalent is the group that hides up in its retreat in Montana; preaching about how they are the Chosen of God and the government is an illegitimate tool of the Antichrist, trying to tear them down; and so they are not obligated to pay their taxes to support this illegitimate regime. If that's all they're doing, then the government probably won't break out the big guns. But the minute there's evidence that they've been stockpiling guns and ammo, and possibly the heavy-duty stuff, or even that they're working with known terrorist groups and the like, then you're going to see the government taking action. Can you imagine what history would have been like if the Albigenses had gotten support from or even formed an alliance with the Islamic caliphs ruling Spain?

Wonderful news, Jim! So happy for you!
Best wishes and blessings, Mac and Alesia! May you walk with God on this new road together!
Vicki
Welcome to the world, Ruby Glenda!
Lori
Jim C... Yeah!!!!!!
Lori
Mac and Alesia, May the Lord our God richly bless you. What a glorious day this is for you.
Mike
Need some prayers. Dennis' cousin Sonya posted on her facebook account that their youngest was bucked off horse and has hurt his back very badly and broken a finger. he has been air lifted to the children's hospital near where they live. The boys name is Aaron. I seem to recall neither of her kids is a teenager although I don't remember how old Aaron is-8 maybe?
Harold, congratulations. I still struggle with that cosmic mystery of how one's daughter can be very beautiful, yet still look like me.
Welcome to the puzzling and rewarding world of raising a daughter
Wayne
Congratulations Jim C.
(I never had a doubt you would pass.)
Harold,
Congratulations on your new daughter! Children are such an incredible blessing. You will learn so much from the Lord through her;-)
Jib,
Aaron will be in my prayers today.
Thanks for the congrats jib, wayne, lori, and Jim G.
As I write this, Ruby is crying loudly in the next room (we just put her to bed and she is supposed to be sleeping) and our two Yorkies (Myah and Mindy), are yipping from downstairs (probably because of the crying).
Ah parenthood. :-)
Harold
savor every day even the bad ones because you never get to repeat that time! they grow up so fast. my little man is 7 and it seems like I just had him yesterday
Well, were up to 151 comments now. I bet our two blog administrators are somewhat distracted. I imagine it may be a few days before we see a new post started. I'm fine with that. I say we give them a week or two if they like;-)
Jib,
That is so true. My boy will be 4 in September. It is unbelievable how quickly they grow up. Yes, savor every minute. Seems like time moved so slowly all the years we were trying and waiting to be parents. Every since we brought Daniel home, time seems to have kicked into warp speed.
Well, speaking of kids... The Bryan Reynolds Band is getting ready to finish up their tour on the 18th. They're back in Florida. They have been so blessed where ever they went. Offering plates were passed and the blessings rolled in. The recordings went well and the finishing is being done on the EP. The guys had an opportunity at the camp in KY to also act as room leaders. There are testimonies of salvation and baptism.
FYI: The campground at Roan Mtn State Park in E Tenn is one of the most beautiful we've ever camped. Our site (#52) was nestled into a corner with plenty of room and privacy. It was surrounded by Rhododendron, Trillium and other mountain foliage as well as a creek running behind our site. The temperatures were comfortable. Even the "tent only" sites are beautiful ($15 a night). The only problem is that the sites are 'first come, first served,' no reservations.
You drive in as early as possible, make sure you have a small tent, even if you're in an RV. You park at the office and walk the loops (there are 3), and drop the tent on the site you like the most, then high-tail it down to the office and wait for them to open. The bottom loop (Behind the office) is completely flat, which is good for some elderly with mobility problems ($20) and beyond that loop is the 'tent only.' The two top loops are mountainous, but well worth the walking. They have water and electric at these sites ($20)
There are several trails. One spot you must visit is a charming farmstead on the mountain, now run by the park. It's nestled into a small gully and you must be able to walk a steep set of steps to visit. Thankfully, my husband insisted we go when we did, as my accident was later that day.
One word of warning: There is no ATT cell service for roughly 30 miles in any direction. The locals use Verizon.
These folks in Tenn are some of the finest people you'll ever meet. They were completely friendly, unapologetically Christian and will go out of their way to help.
When I fractured my ankle, almost everyone around our sites came and spoke a blessing of healing over the injury. Our camp host is a pastor in Bristol Tenn. What a great bunch of folks.
We went to Sycamore Shoals Historic area, which thankfully had a wheel chair and we had a good time with the band. They got goofy and we took several pictures. We also went to a country jamboree on the mountain (free) to hear bluegrass, gospel and some funny mountain stories. It was great, anyone could be in it, just had to show up 1/2 hr early. In the nearby town of Elizabethton, there is a covered bridge and several wonderful historic buildings and shops. I love architecture of old buildings, especially if they're brick although a 2 story colonial with dormers and a wrap-around porch really gets to me.
I hope if any are in E Tenn, you'll take the time to check out this state park, it's quite an experience.
Sorry about the hic-cup, but google gave me an error message saying the message was too long, so I tried again, not knowing it had posted.
Congrats Jim C!
Lori, camping trip sounds awesome (leave out the hurt ankle though!)
Harold, congrats on the new baby. Yes, savor every minute, even the bad ones. My oldest daughter just turned 16 and how I wish that I had lingered longer in bed cozying up with her or just sitting still with her more often. I do that now with my little boys (4 and 6), lesson learned since I did not so much with the two girls (16 and 13). Time moves too fast and before you know it they are almost grown.
Diana
jib, Jim G. and diana,
Thanks for the advice about savoring every minute with your kids. Ruby is only 18 days old today, but I cannot believe how much her appearance has changed in those 18 days! She looks different almost every day, and it makes me a little sad. :-(
I just wrapped her up and put her in her crib before I started writing this, and I have already gone back three times to see how she is.
After taking 3 weeks off work for the birth, I am going back to work tomorrow and I know I am going to miss her.
On a side note, I sent an email to a friend of mine, Jon, from college who I haven't seen in several years, to announce Ruby's birth. In his reply he mentioned that he and his wife just had their 7th "surprise" and have just bought a 12 passenger van to accommodate them all.
Jon is several years younger than I am and I wonder if he is thinking of filling the 3 empty seats on that van in the near future? I am also not sure after 6 kids, how the 7th one is a 'surprise'? :-)
Jon is actually a really great guy and strong Christian, so the more kids like him we have on the planet, the better.
I guess Debbie and I are off to a slow start. All 3 of us fit in the Yaris nicely. :-)
Harold
Just for fun (I love history)...
July 4, 1776 is not the day that the Revolutionary War began.
It is not the day that the Continental Congress voted to declare Independence from Great Britain.
And it is not the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed.
I'm still celebrating with everybody today though.
April 19, 1775 – Revolutionary War begins with “shot heard around the world” in Lexington, Massachusetts
July 2, 1776 – Continental Congress voted to Declare Independence from Great Britain
July 4, 1776 – Continental Congress adopted the formal statement explaining why Congress had voted to Declare Independence
August 2, 1776 – Regarded by many historians as the date on which the Declaration of Independence was actually signed
October 19, 1781 – Surrender by British General Cornwallis to General George Washington in Yorktown, Virginia
September 3, 1783 -- Formal end of the Revolutionary War with the signing of the Treaty of Paris and Treaties of Versailles
Hi Harold, yes, I second what Diana says about savoring every moment. I get choked up looking at pictures of my 11-year old daughter when she was younger because I really miss those younger years and all those special moments that every family has.
Sometimes it's hard to recognize those special moments in the making. For example, being the grump I sometimes am, I once got upset when our daughter was six years old and got under our dining room table and started coloring with a crayon. I was reminded later by a family member, that I will one day look back (and under that table) and understand what those crayon markings really represent. The minute I heard that, it resonated strongly with me and I teared up. I now wished my daughter had instead drawn an entire fresco under that table - LOL
Yes, it changes you for the better.
Just ran across this article on "Spirit Daily":
Gulf's Evolution Makes the Shakes
Geologist Offers a New Theory
The New Madrid seismic zone in Missouri has long intrigued scientists because, according to conventional geologic theory, large earthquakes clustered in a tectonically quiet region are difficult to understand.
But at least one AAPG member is challenging the crowd.
New Orleans independent geologist Jack M. Reed believes the origin of the earthquakes lies beneath the Gulf of Mexico.
That's not all.
Reed, a retired Texaco geologist-geophysicist who has been studying the region's geology for over 40 years, says the accepted theory of a quiet geologic evolution of the Gulf of Mexico Basin is fundamentally flawed and needs to be revised.
The article is a bit technical, but it basically says that, contrary to popular belief, the Gulf of Mexico is tectonically active, and its activity can be linked to earthquake activity from the Gulf up to the St. Lawrence Seaway. This includes both the New Madrid fault system and the Niagara Falls fault system.
(AAPG, by the way, is the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, meaning this guy may know what he's talking about.)
GOD BLESS AMERICA LAND THAT I LOVE!
Harold, what great joy awaits you and like everyone has said, enjoy the ride. Also, you learn a whole new meaning to "wet suit" and you won't have to wear a weight belt to do so.
I found a picture of my precious daughter and it brought tears to me too. No matter how old we get or how much they change, they will always be our little girl. Wish I could go back to those days and have an opportunity to really enjoy the time together.
JIM C. congratulations on your test but like the others have said, I knew you would do it. Still praying for the realization of beneficial occupation.
LORI, I am so happy to have you back on here. I loved the word picture you shared with us and I would love to have one more chance to go camping. One of the earlier joys of our family life.
The picture perfect site you managed to get sounded just like what I would want and thanks for the advice on getting a good site too.
Grumpy, maybe your grandchildren will finish the mural on your dining room table. But this time, why don't you join them in getting it done!
Have a wonderful and safe week but above all, keep watching and listen!
How sweet it is to hear about your newborn daughter, Harold!
I will join in with everyone else about savoring every possible moment!
Happy 4th Everyone!
Shalom, all! I ran across this article on "Spirit-Digest.com":
Revealed: Shocking satellite images of lakes show extent of man's impact on world's water supply
The images of the Aral Sea are shocking, because I remember reading about that in the early '90s, but the lake is almost completely gone.
The reason I'm linking to this, though, has to do with the latter half of the article. It doesn't have the photographs to show the damage, but it's talking about the damage the High Dam in Egypt has done to the Nile and to most of Egypt. Now, I remember discussing this back on Joel's blog two years ago. The pertinent sections of scripture were different parts of Ezekiel 29 and 30 (I remember that much; too lazy to look up the exact verses, plus I'm trying to find out if our fireworks have been canceled because of the rain); and Isaiah 19:4-14.
Can anyone else think of any verses that might refer to this?

Just saw this on the news -- prayers needed:
Horses take off, injure 24 people at Iowa parade
BELLEVUE, Iowa (AP) -- Police say two horses that injured 24 people at a Fourth of July parade in eastern Iowa became uncontrollable after one of them rubbed its head against the other, removing that horse's bridle.
Police say the victims were as young as 2 years old and suffered injuries ranging from multiple fractures to collapsed lungs and bruises and abrasions.
<><
Update:
Police say a 60-year-old Iowa woman has died of her injuries sustained when two startled horses bolted during a Fourth of July parade and galloped through the streets pulling a wagon for several blocks.
Harold, Conrad’s! I love the name-"Ruby"- how did you come to the name?
Jim C, Conrad’s too! On your test.
Now I'm tying not to majorly freak out after all of these "horse" related incidents since our eldest daughter will be in "horse camp" all this week starting tomorrow.
She & the neighbor girlfriend wanted to do this together & although they have been taking beginning riding lessons once a week this will be quite a bit more riding than they're used to.
Granted I'm a horse woman but watching your kids learn how to ride is one of the most nerve wracking things I've purposely inflicted upon myself.
After they get their balance & the hang of all of the things you have to learn how to do @ one time it's not so bad. But right now they can barely steer the horse although they can post & are getting their leg positions & posture fine tuned.
Good thing my veins are clear because I could give myself mini-stokes just watching the lesson. I have to pray for calm nerves every time & now she'll be out of sight from 9-1 daily. They don't ride the entire time but learn about horse care & other things.
Anyway, I hope I survive the week & the kids all do fine w/o incident.
COEXIST? Also under "Urgent Message" this person designed a tract that can be printed out.
Atty, Grany, Donna and Lisa,
Thanks for the congrats!
Atty, I loved the crayon story. It almost made me tear up reading it.
Lisa, my wife was reading a magazine that had baby names in it a couple of years ago and she ran across the name Ruby and really liked it. She told me the name and I really liked it was well. We don't personally know anyone named Ruby, so that was another plus (we like to be different :-) ).
Our last name begins with an 'R', so we liked the alteration as well. :-)
Her middle name Glenda was my wife's mother's name. I guess we are bringing the old names back. That being said, if we have another daughter, I do not intend on calling her Bertha however (no offense to anyone who has a daughter named Bertha out there :-) ).
