"To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You;
Let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me...
Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day."

Oops! Have we developed a stutter?
My devotional this morning was so amazing, I have to share part of it with you.
Read 2 Samuel 21:15-22 The Philistines again waged war against Israel. David went down with his soldiers, and they fought the Philistines, but David became exhausted. (v.15)
The Hebrew word for exhausted is uwph.
The word even sounds like something you might say at a glimpse of an old enemy! means to "cover, to fly, faint, flee away." It is the overwhelming desire to run and hide.
When you haven't had enough rest, when things have been emotional and turbulent, when you've been swinging from one extreme to the other, when you're completely vulnerable - that's when the enemy strikes.
Satan is the counterfeit god of perfect timing. He's watching for just the right moment to pull the rug out from under us, but even that rug is under God's feet. And God always has victory in mind!
"Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him." (2 Cor. 2:14)
Weird, earlier I looked on here and there were several duplicate messages. Did they get removed or was that on my computer alone?
This is a strange situation.
Almost every school day when I drop off Melanie- as I drive back home up the hill to my house this lady driving down the hill @ the same time waves her hands & yells at me out the window. She even stops her truck & keeps yelling.
So today she does the same thing but I stop beside her & roll down my window to see what her deal is.
She starts in on "If you live in this neighborhood the speed limit is 25 miles per hour & if you don't slow down I'm going to write down your license plate number & call the police!" So hopefully you can do that- what do you have to say for yourself?!"
(All the while holding a large stainless cup of coffee.)
Meanwhile I'm thinking: What is the Christian thing to do here? All I ended up saying is "Nothing" and she said "Well Good!" and drove away w/her Obama stickers plastered on her back window.
Keep in mind that I'm driving up a very steep hill (w/hairpin turns) so I can't be going as fast as her reaction is warranting & I don't think she can really gauge my speed.
I'm one of the slower drivers in our neighborhood & am usually at the speed limit-just depending which section of winding road I'm at. At the time of the incident today I was at about 35 mph on a straight section so I was over the "actual" limit but nothing horrific.
We do have lots of big trucks for home building(that were burnt down), contractors, & teenage drivers who do go too fast though.
So any advice as to what I could say the next time as I'm sure there will be a next time. This woman seems like a real bitter person. Probably all ready to sign up for Obama's civilian police force!
Lori,
Hmmm. Must be some sort of "blogger" glitch. The last post is duplicated. So, I think I'm experiencing what you did.
Yesterday, when I tried to post, I got a message that 'blogger was unavailable.' I tried again and got same message. I guesss it published each time I tried.
When I deleted extra comments, I also get the message 'blogger is unavailable. So that's what was happening on my end.
Don't know how I double-posted. Will delete it.
Am I the only one who has the most bizzare things going on around here?
Yesterday (in addition to the woman yelling @ me) in the parking lot of a strip mall some young man was peering into the side of my car & was parked next to it.
I saw him as we were walking back to our car from buying groceries. I asked Lorraine: “IS that our car?” because I didn’t know what this guy was doing & who would be messing around w/it? She said (after he had left)
“Yeah, mom & he was flipping up the door handle trying to get in!”
I thought O.K. either he is just nuts (like the car lady) or he was checking to see if the door was unlocked to steal something. So I said “That’s it!” Lord, use what this guy meant for evil & turn it to good.
I ended up taking a: “Are you a good person?” witness DVD’s & stuck it through the crack in the window of his car so that it fell on his seat.
So help me pray for the car thief too would you?
For your consideration...

Acting in faith
That is why we live by believing and not by seeing. 2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT
You honor Jesus when you act in faith on His Word. Ed Cole
Fertile lives
Most of us try to get through life on human wisdom. Some of us succeed. Others of us make so many mistakes that we die with innumerable regrets. If only we could get guidance from above, we would get this "life" stuff right. If only we could hear the voice of the One who knows. If only.
The truth is that we can. The Voice has spoken. His words are available to us. But there's a catch. We have to be willing to obey it. Otherwise, we won't have what Jesus calls "ears to hear." Those who obey what they already know of God have their ears opened to more; and those who have ears open are readily obedient.
The root of the problem is that most of us have trouble, however minor it may be, with obedience. We lose our "ears to hear," and as a result, we fall back on human wisdom. Our lives never match those of the biblical heroes. Why? Human wisdom would not have pushed Abraham up a hill to sacrifice his son; it would not have led God's people to the edge of the Red Sea with an army in pursuit; it would not have marched around Jericho seven times and blasted a trumpet for the wall to fall; and, most strikingly, human wisdom would not have vilified the Son of God on a cross in order to save a wretched race.
Really, when it comes to it, would you prefer to live by the human logic that results from losing your ears to hear? Or would you prefer the cutting-edge, risky-but-real life of a true, radical believer? The answer isn't clear for everyone. But we've seen who lasts. Your Bible is full of their stories. They lived by faith, not by sight.
Jim C, I'm going to give a copy of the Acupuncture article to our Bible Study group leader.
The person who was/is having the most spiritual trouble in life in our group has been getting regular acupuncture treatments.
We had mentioned that this may not be such a good idea (not to mention the fact that the guy doing the treatments wasn't exactly encouraging her to persue her Christian studies.) but I don't think any of us had great examples of why this might not be something a Christain should participate in.
There is nothing like a personal testimony is there.
God Bless you Lisa! Your boldness inspires and encourages me!

Wow. This is amazing!
Another evolutionary marvel!
Random mutations + natural selection + millions of years = the cuttlefish
NOT
It's not natural selection. It's supernatural design.
God purposely designed the cuttlefish for His pleasure and glory (and to make the wisdom of man look like foolishness in comparison).
Amen to what Grace said.
Lisa, your boldness and willingness to obey the Lord no matter what is an inspiration!

I wouldn't have an issue with the dvd's you mentioned however I would note that your son seems to have bought into the party line already to an extent because of his comments about the dinos on the ark. I think it makes perfect sense for all the animals not just the dinos-younger animals take up less space and eat less. A point Hamm makes.

I did you one better- I got all our immediate families books from AIG and subscriptions to AIG magazine for Christmas last year and personally I think it's a GREAT gift for a teacher. we are making it a point to go to the Creation museum this summer-looking forward to it
the issue we are having is the current constant indoctrination on the kid channels about saving mother earth. really getting to the point I'm going to ban it and he can only watch dvd's. We have to have discussion frequently on why while recycling isn't a bad thing it isn't mandatory and not recycling doesn't make you a bad person.

I noted it but then posted something else, so it got buried.

I couldn't believe it!-this morning on "Walk in the Word" radio broadcast the message by James Mc.Donald is "Boldness for Jesus Christ, Part 1".
I didn't get to hear all of it but what I did listen to was great.

He mentioned this scripture:
Proverbs 28:1"The wicked flee when no one persues, But the righteous are bold as a lion."
(Actually I usually feel more like a scaredy cat housecat like this One but I'm open to the lion analogy- just need some more work from the H.S.)
I loved your last post, Alesia. You always share such great insights.
God will give us the power--and even the will--to obey. We just need to submit to Him. And He will help us do that, too!

If I told you that there was a well known video game with Mickey Mouse in it, it wouldn't surprise you. If I mentioned it's full of several children's favorite characters, it might sound like a fun family game. Well, what if I told you that Mickey Mouse is holding a type of sword with a key chain on it, well that might perk up your ears. (but not quite as tall as Mickey's) What if I told you that on the end of the sword, is a symbol of Islam?
My son saw this when he was out marketing yesterday. He noticed someone had it on their computer, so I checked it out.
The game is called Kingdom Hearts. The sword is called The Star Seeker.
Lori, What I have been finding out about the "Disney Corp" lately - that would no longer suprise me.
Can anyone check this story out? My friend looked at snoopes & didn't find anything. Obama Serves 14-State Governors with Warnings of Arrest
News is up!
Lisa,
Loved that short video of the Tea Party member singing, it was beautiful and brought me to tears. I must say, my kindergarten son's class would sing the anthem every morning after saying the pledge and whenever I was there (which was alot!) I just came to tears every time :)
Lisa, that's "Obama" thing is a hoax. A friend sent me a link to the original story two weeks ago. I spent a couple of hours researching it and it's bunk.
The original story was from one of those congressional web sites that lets you send messages to your congresscritter. The message had been sent to a representative from Virginia, and had CC'd Obama and a couple of other congressmen. The original letter cited as a source a GRU (Russian military intelligence) report that brought up the possibility of these governors being brought up on charges of treason.
The fact that the original letter cited a secret Russian military intelligence report immediately puts this into question. For one thing, in the old days, the GRU knew how to keep its secrets. If it suspected you of revealing something, they killed you. There's no way a "secret GRU report" just happened to be released to an unnamed reporter and used in a story that can't be found or substantiated.
Also, this letter has been edited. It does not have some of the information in the original letter. It is also wrong. The "gag order" portion of NSLs was struck down as unconstitutional in 2004. While NSLs are still used, their use is limited to terrorism cases and are subject to judicial review.
I have no doubt that Obama would LOVE to do this (issue the NSLs and all), but this is so far out there, if it were true it might constitute an impeachable offense. (The charges might not stick, but they could still bring charges against him and maybe reign him in.)

How is everyone?
Hi All,
Exciting and precarious times we live in. We are finally all moved and together in Co.
Well almost....we are still waiting on our stuff to arrive by movers. The movers cancelled on us three times. Finally a week later, they arrived to pack up. Two of our sweet friends volunteered to be there for the movers....the movers didn't finish until 1:30am. Unbelievable!! But after a co worker of Scott's told him their movers lost all of their things for three weeks...I'll gladly take a week late.
Driving up here from Texas was also eventful. We started a day later than we had anticipated (due to the movers)and had a tire blow out on our personal trailer. God must of had us go a day late for a reason because that could have been much worse.
Even though this move is all jumbled up we definately feel the Lord's hand on us. We have had a lot of flack from the opposition in many forms but it only makes us more dependant on the Lord and we are thankful for that.
Please pray for us to receive all of our furniture, clothes etc soon. Camping conditions in an empty house is getting old after a week. However, I am thankful for what we have at the moment...He does provide...ALWAYS=)
Stand Firm in Him,
Jenny
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs.?
Nearly Lori. Not long to go though.
we were at DL this last weekend and you might be interested in the following observation. Traditionally there really has been no stereotypical Jewish Child in honor of the Jewish nation but there were greetings at the end of the ride one of which was "shalom". i say was because after the ride was revamped and "disneyfied" (with several disney characters like Mulan, Peter Pam, Nemo etc appearing) the greeting of Shalom has disappeared. There is however a post card greeting with Arabic words on it. It would be interesting to note if the same greeting has been removed from the WDW version of the same ride.
on a different note I did a lot of people watching this weekend. the amount of piercings and tattoos were just astonishing. full color, displayed proudly, many, many of them with dark satanic themes. all I could think of was no wonder people will accept the mark-it will be just another tattoo. and it was all age groups and socioeconomic statuses.
much the same as with the winter olympics I got the sense that this would be our last disney trip.
Congrats to Mac and Alesia-court house ceremony or church ceremony? maybe you should set up a webcam for the event and everyone else could log on and "attend" virtually :-)

can you recommend a good book on what church tradition says about the lives of the 12 apostles prior to their being called to follow Christ? I have recently discovered that as many as 4 of 12 apostles may well have been cousins of Christ (the sons of thunder, Peter and Andrew). I knew that 2 others were brothers (James and Matthew). I have been listening to fictionalized accountings of the lives of the 4 gospel writers-doing Matthew at the moment. I know from other research that quite a bit from the book about John was based on early church tradition about their lives. I figure you would be the best source on this matter.
Don't Catholics believe that Mary is a perpetual virgin - therefore Jesus had no siblings?
Every time I go to an amusement park I come back in shock of all the Satanic symbolism/ piercing /etc.. people proudly display.
When I go back to Disney West I'll check out the end of the Small World ride. Now I remember the Shalom card but I also remember seeing the Arabic card in the latest updated version. I just don't recall if the Shalom card has been removed or not. Great observation Jib!

LIsa, I think that although the information presents itself to be accurate, those confronted that support O, will still side with him. I watched a video this afternoon where a Teaparty group protesting is confronted by a mayor. When the mayor was asked about O's policies, the mayor replied with some "memorized" comment about Bush. The mayor ended up pushing a woman, so her husband pushed the mayor and the mayor slugged the husband in the head.

cousins come in different stripes :-) more specifically Frucht has said that the mothers of James and John as well as Peter and Andrew were sisters to Mary the mother of Jesus which would make them first cousins I believe? children of the half brothers and half sisters of Christ would be nieces and nephews
Jib, Shalom! I've asked around and did some research. There are some books that cover their lives after the Resurrection, and may touch on their lives before they met Jesus (i.e., Peter was married), but in a very real sense, their lives didn't start until they met Jesus. Any and all information will come from tradition handed down by the Early Church Fathers (ECF, i.e., those bishops and martyrs who learned the faith from the men taught by Jesus, or who were taught by those who were taught by Jesus), so it is skimpy at best and not necessarily accurate. Also be advised: I get the feeling that many modern evangelists are highly suspicious of the Early Church Fathers, and I've been told by at least one person that the ECF are simply "wrong", particularly in areas where they contradict modern Protestant thought. The RCC treats the ECF as semi-authoritative (with Scripture being the ultimate authority), so you're going to find a lot of RCC viewpoints in some of these works.
The best books that I've found and have been recommended to me are these:
The Twelve: The Lives of the Apostles After Calvary, by Bernard Ruffin; published by Our Sunday Visitor.
Thirteen Apostles, by J. Ellsworth Kalas; published by Abingdon Press.
The Apostles, by Pope Benedict XVI; published by Our Sunday Visitor. Note: this book can be treated as a follow-up/sequel to Benedict's book Jesus of Nazareth. To quote from a review,
"One of Pope Benedict's loudest critics of Jesus of Nazareth was the former Catholic (now Jewish) scholar Geza Vermes who wrote in his review of the book in The Times of London saying "Another recurrent theme in Ratzinger's perception of Christ is that Jesus
intended the Gospel to be preached to all the nations. If so, did he just forget Jesus' sayings that contradict the universality of the apostolic mission, namely, that both Jesus and his disciples were sent only to the "lost sheep of Israel" (Matthew x, 5-6; xv, 24)."
In this book The Apostles, the Pope answers this criticism, showing how the accounts that we have in the Bible show that Jesus clearly intended to create a Church that would reach out beyond the limited scope of Israel. He also provides an excellent overview of what can be known from the Bible and the early church about the first followers of Jesus--as well as what lessons we can derive from their example."
The Primitive Church, by Rev. D. I. Lanslots; published by TAN Books.
And Lisa, yes, we believe that Mary was a perpetual virgin so Jesus had no siblings -- BY MARY. There are two trains of thought on that. The first is that Joseph was a widower when he married Mary, and had children by his first marriage.
The second is that early Aramaic and Hebrew didn't have a word specifically for "cousin"; rather, they had one word that was used for brother, cousin, sometimes nephew. (You can see this in the Peshitta, the Bible written in Aramaic.) When the writings were translated into Greek, the translators did what the translators of the Septuagint version did: they used the word "adelphos". (When the translators have Jesus quoting from Scripture, they use the Septuagint translation, so they were just following precedent.)
There's support to be found for both theories. FWIW, Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, et. al. all taught the perpetual virginity of Mary; it's only their followers that later denied it.

Jim,
Been meaning to ask you how the job situation is going. My DH works in new construction and said there's all kinds of building going on with a focus on being 'green' and energy friendly. He actually has a mtg next week in Jersey with a new builder called New World Home that is looking for products/trades who can provide those kinds of materials for their sites. He's laughing bc his company meets the minimum standards of the Environmental Stewardship standards, but they still cut down trees and belch smoke from their factories to make their product. So he's not sure why they want to bid out his cabinets when they're an uber-environmentally conscious builder. Anyway, I wanted to suggest talking with any local builders in your area if you are looking for leads bc, at least on the east coast, there is a definite focus on being rated as green/Eco friendly.

Jen, thanks for asking. I've been studying and waiting until I could scrape the money together to pay for my re-test. I was planning on scheduling the test for this Friday. However, over the weekend, Iowa's unemployment computer system crashed. I don't know if I'll be getting my payment this Friday, so I may schedule it for Monday. I'll have to pray about it.
After passing the test, I don't know what I'll do next. I'll have to do some supervised ratings to finish out my certification, which means finding someone to work with for that. I'm going to be doing some strong knee-time this week asking for direction.

Shalom, all! As one of those "Things that make you go 'huh?'", I offer up this morsel:
Train retraces route of first Auschwitz convoy, 70 years on
Then check out the reference in Zechariah:
12 Then the angel of the LORD said, "LORD Almighty, how long will you withhold mercy from Jerusalem and from the towns of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?"
13 So the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked with me.
14 Then the angel who was speaking to me said, "Proclaim this word: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion,
15 but I am very angry with the nations that feel secure. I was only a little angry, but they added to the calamity.'
16 "Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem,' declares the LORD Almighty.
17 "Proclaim further: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem.' " (NIV)
The commentary in the NAB says the reference to "nations that feel secure" refers to the countries around Judah, particularly Edom (present-day Jordan), "...which enjoyed their present prosperity and security at Judah's expense." Kinda mirrors what's happening in Jordan now. It may make a scene about Israel and the "West Bank" for its Arab neighbors, but Jordan is secure because Israel has been fighting Hezbollah and Hamas for them.
(After the 6-Day War, all the militant Palestinians, including Arafat, moved to Jordan. Jordan tolerated this for a time, until the PLO set up it's own government-within-a-government in the refugee camps. When Jordan tried to shut them down, the PLO responded by trying to assassinate the king of Jordan. This led to "Black September", when the Jordanian forces cracked down on the PLO hard, and which lasted until the PLO moved to Lebanon. The terrorist group which did the Munich Massacre got its name from this time.)
Hamas, et. al. would welcome the opportunity to overthrow the Hashemite Throne of Jordan in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself. This is a serious concern of a number of Very (self)Important People in the State Dept. When the War of Psalm 83 is finished, Israel will have conquered a great deal of formerly-Jordanian territory. That might prove to be too much for the Hashemite Kingdom, and the losers may take their anger out on the Royal Family, leading to a coup.
We JUST had another pretty good earthquake here. I had to drag Lorraine out of bed asleep down the hall by one arm. (Good thing she was on tile & slid well!)

LIsa, that was a 5.7! Not a tiny earthquake. I have to say, as much as I don't like the heat here or the occasional hurricane, we can at least see them coming. Do you develop nerves of steel there?
Shalom! Lori wrote:
Do you develop nerves of steel there?
Nerves of steel? No. Legs of rubber, yes.
I am praising G_D today for taking what appeared to be a bad thing and turning it to my advantage. I woke up this morning at 4:30 and could not get back to sleep. At 5:20 it was light enough that my cats were walking around my head, wondering when I was going to feed them (since I was already awake). So I got up and started my morning routine, thinking I'd catch a nap later.
A little after 7 (and one cup of coffee later) I started falling asleep at my PC. I went back to bed, thinking I'd wake up a little after 9 and get on with my day. Instead, I woke up at 11:20! (Can you say, "sleep deprivation"?) I woke up feeling refreshed. I also woke up to the sounds of a major rain storm.
Now, the reason this is a good thing is because all this week, I've been walking to the public library just down the street to study for my certification exam, walk home at lunch, then walk back for the rest of the afternoon. (Too many distractions at home.) Since I always watch the weather before bed (and it's been accurate so far) I don't bother checking the weather in the morning, only in the afternoon. So if I had been up and about at my usual times, I would have been either on my way to the library or stuck there waiting for the 30%-chance-of-precipitation to end. Which, according to the radar, it will do sometime this evening. (No umbrella -- weather forecast last night didn't give any indication of rain in the morning.)
G_D is good!
I've never been though so many natural disasters in all my years alive as I have in the past 4.

He watches all of my antics from the couch & thinks I'm pretty hilarious.
Yes, I want Christ's soon return- now I'm wondering if I'll make it though the birth pangs w/o cracking up in the process. lol!
With the big earthquakes you hear them coming a few seconds before they hit-then you'll hear the windows rattle, see the hanging lamps swaying (pools sloshing) & feel the ground shake. It's amazing to think of the force it takes to move so much soil & rock.
Just an update on my praise report on not being caught out in the rain: I just learned that my city was hit with flash flooding from that rain storm earlier. While my area is not threatened, one of the major streets just a few blocks away is covered by water, as are several streets in the neighboring city as well as a mobile home park -- 2ft. of water there.
The rains have stopped and the waters are receding now. Your prayers are requested.

Stole this from the OL....
John was in the fertilized egg business.
He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.
He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.
This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.
Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.
Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.
John's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all!
When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.
To John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring.
He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.
John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.
The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.
Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

Now, I have not seen the bumpersticker, but I live close to Portland and work there quite frequently and some neighborhoods are more muslims than not. It is the norm to see the women dressed like this around here. If you go downtown around the PSU area that is all you see.
I am a broker rep for several large food manufacturers and we sell our products in convenience stores. I would say that they are 80% owned and run by middle easterners.
Grace
The bumper sticker is quite disturbing.
The Muslims in San Diego have been for the most part secularized. The most they wear is a headscarf.
The Muslim family I'm close with only wears the coverups to pray in but not out & about.
So for this relaxed beach town community to see a Muslim fully covered in black is a real shocker.
You're more likely to see someone from India fully covered in their pretty silk outfits.
The majority of non-native people here are from Mexico & Asia.
They never archive the "Men's Breakfast" teaching but Pastor Ray wanted this particular one to be available for everyone to see.

Mac, I just got around to reading that article from Midnight Call, it was very good.
Thanks, Lisa.
Trying to catch up on all the posts here. You all are a wealth of information and perspectives.
Excited for Mac and Alesia. Hope all goes well with the time adjustment and that you have a truly blessed wedding day. :-)
Sad bumpersticker.
Have a good day, all!

Lisa,
Wow, that is a disturbing bumper sticker. That also must have been a shock to see a woman totally covered. I live near a university town and there are many Muslims on campus. We actually have a university and a community college. I have never seen someone totally covered, mostly just head scarves or at the most a head scarf and a plain dress. Of course, out in California things are way different than here in Illinois! We here joke that the bad trends travel East to us from California!

Crazy and deceptive news alerts Anyone seen or heard of this story? Sometimes it seems like more deceptive, than real news, is being put out there.
There is more than likely nothing to this story, but I'm curious if anyone has heard anything related to, or in support of, it.
Atty: I'm a prolific news skimmer and there is so much garbage out there. Some of it is so well written that it almost seems to be planted. Part of me cannot help to delve into the conspiracy theory that the "rumors" will become so malicious that the news comes under heavy regulation by the gov't .... thereby reducing our ability to communicate freely, squelching free speech.
Hi Campsmore, I agree. I read about the "kill switch" Obama will be given under a proposed new bill, but as a backup plan, if alternative news sites can also set themselves up as an Electronic Bulletin Board, like in the days preceding the web, people can still just dial into a site using their phone and get/exchange news. That's what I was doing in 1990-1993 before the internet took off. It only requires a modem and software. I hope many sites are considering and planning for this.
Well, off to work : )
Atty: technology has never been my forte... I enjoy learning about new technology and inventions. But as tempting as it is to go completely wireless, I've been advised against it. I just don't remember why? :]
Now this is a 1st for me. Has anyone else experienced something like this?
I took the girls roller-skating at the park. (The old fashioned 4 wheel skates) and allot of the young kids were curious & asking their mom's what they were. One of the mom's even stopped w/her son for awhile to watch them skate around the basketball court.
The girls had pre-planned if they saw the ice cream truck that they wanted one so when they heard the music they took off in that direction.
As we were going by there was a man w/two kids on the soccer field. One girl was about 4 the other about 2. The little two year old started vocalizing & running toward us as fast as her little legs could go.
So we all thought- wow- she must really like the girls skates! So I stop w/the kids so she can see them & she ignores them & runs into my arms.
I pick her up & she's happy as a clam. The minute her dad? comes over she turns her head away from him & wants nothing to do w/him. Then she reaches for my braw (to nurse?) so then I figure out that she's missing her mommy.
The dad was nice & smiling but as I turned to give "Renee" back to him he had to pry her fingers off of me because she had me in a death grip.
As we parted she was crying her little head off.
I probably would have stayed & chatted but the kids really wanted to get their ice cream before the truck left.
Now in retrospect I hope I didn't blow it & was supposed to talk to the man about the Lord.
Russia has with a little help, created a disruption in the Kazakhstan gov't and then "generously" provided help. Last year it was Georgia. Poland's entire gov't removed and replace, Ukraine gov't replaced with a pro-Russia group, and Now there is unrest in Kyrgyzstan.
If my calculations are correct, we could see any of the following countries next... Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, but my money is on Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. And I'm sure like some of the others, they'll beg for Russia's assistance.
wow, you guys are really on the ball. I just returned home from a short visit with my families in northern Missouri and totally out of the loop for over a week. Felt so good too! No major news but lots and lots of loving on my kids. Great, grand and the beginners of the family buildup. But one thing I can tell you without hesitation, there was and continues to be lots of wonderful love of each other. Also, this little story for your pleasure.
My son and his wife have been given the responsibility to be foster parents to my daughter in law's niece and nephew. Ages 8 and 2. It is the result of drug addiction and all that goes with it. Their mother was only 16 years old when she had Lillie out of wedlock. Then when Lillie was only 5, Drew was born. Still out of wedlock. Long story short, the parents were reported because of the neglect and abuse, the DFS took the children away, incarcerated the parents and sent them to rehab.
This scene could have been quite the opposite of what it is now but instead, stupidity set in and now the courts have appointed my son and daughter-in-law as the children's permanent guardians.
I first saw the children in May of last year and it was heart breaking to see the hurt of being neglected and abused. The little boy didn't even have the normal ability to respond to contact with others. His little eyes were so sad and although he was 1 year old he had never been encouraged or allowed to do anything but sleep and lay in bed all of the time.
Well, it has all changed and they are both thriving and alive like children are supposed to be. He is the happiest little boy I have ever been around and loves on everyone. But this is what I want to share with you all.
The weather up there was cloudy and rainy all of the time I was there. It was raining pretty had this day and Drew plus all of us, were sitting in the kitchen looking out at the deck watching the rain come down in torrents. He came over to my DIL and said "Jesus is crying". Debbie asked him what he meant and Drew told us all that rain is Jesus' tears and when it thunders, it is God stomping his foot. Then he acted out the whole scene.
We had a lot of stomping and crying going on up there. Rightfully so!
But that little boy knows about Jesus because his 8 year old sister has told him all about the Jesus she has come to love and depend on so greatly all of these years. She never misses anything that the church is having and yes, she is attending the same Southern Baptist church that I was saved in, my daughter and son were saved in and my grandchildren were all saved in. Now I have some very special grand children that were given to all of us by a Loving and Merciful Father and it just keeps getting better and better every day.
You all have a great weekend and Lisa, that little girl will never leave your heart and all you might be able to do from this point on is PRAY FOR HER SAFETY AND PURITY!
Love,
Grany
Lisa, perhaps that would have been an opportunity to talk to the man about Jesus; personally, I think it would be better to talk to Child Protective Services about the man. You ASSUME he was the father; no guarantee he was. Or if he was he may be the non-custodial parent involved with a family abduction.

Lisa,
That senario with the child was very weird. I am not sure what I would have done. It is not normal. What was the other child doing while this was going on? Perhaps the little one thought that you were someone else? Very disturbing, I will pray for them.
Diana
Also,
I am sure that there are a few wise souls here who have raised teenage daughters and are still sane. I am so hurt by my 16 year old alot of the time. She used to be so sweet and we were always so close. I know she is trying to grow and find out who she is and all of that. She is self centered, which is what they say is normal for this age. It is so, so hard though! I did not realize how emotional it would be to have a 16 year old. Any advice or words of wisdom?
Jim C, That crossed my mind after the fact also. The older girl looked well adjusted & normal. She just walked closer to us & smiled. (I guess I'll be looking @ the back of milk cartons for some time!)
How come 'I' get all the weird stuff happening to me? Lately every time I go out in public something strange is going on.
The days that are dry are the days I stay home.
Thank you for also praying for little "Renee".
Lisa, I had something similar happen to me while I was sitting in a doctor's office years ago. A young girl (5 or 6?) walked up to me and looked at me with such pleading, sad eyes. That's so unusual in this day and age that a child will approach a stranger. I didn't know what to do, and I didn't see her with anyone. Then the nurse called me and I left. It has haunted me ever since.
Diana, I feel for you and have prayed for you and your daughter. May God give you patience!
Who knew there was a second verse?
of course there are about 4 verse for the Battle Hymn of the Republic and they get progressively "more religious" which is probably why we don't ever sing more than the first one in public but lately I don't think I've heard that one sung even in church

Just in case you folks aren't aware of this site, there are lots of articles there I almost never see anywhere else. I first heard about it from JR Church in one of his videos a few months ago. and have been visiting it daily ever since.
ATTY,
Thought of you when I read THIS ARTICLE. The young man this site belongs to used to have another site but moved just recently. I would love to send it to Joel Richardson at Joel's Trumpet.
Everyone, a little over a year ago, while visiting my kids in northern Missouri, there was very little interest in discussing End Times, rapture, or anything considered Religious. Oh, some church people would agree that something major was going on but nothing of any great importance to them. They tended to duck for cover at even the mention of the bible.
This time while visiting there this past week, things are a changing. In fact, my son and daughter in law were very interested and eager to learn. The questions were flying and the attention was riveted on responses and even to the point of dusting off their bibles when they could find them. Not only us old Hens and Rosters but the younger generation and kids! The KIDS were right on the ball and as much as it surprised me, it was really a great thrill to watch them go to work on the adults. My youngest great grandson was shouting "Jesus is coming and very soon" all over the place and no one was telling him to cool it.
The awareness is staggering to say the least but when I considered the fact that a little over 10 years ago they were having a tremendous revival and churches were being filled to overflow, it is not surprising. I truly believe the next phase is the infilling of the Holy Spirit and not in small measure either.
I know the attitude right now, so we don't have to go into it but I get excited just thinking about what is next for the Kingdom of God believers. None of us will be left behind because God will make sure that all the ones He has given to the Son will not be lost. A whole new awareness seems to be taking place and I am shouting the joy because as God told Joshuah, everywhere you place your foot will be given to you, I believe that everywhere we put our testimony, it will accomplish what God sent it for. Our testimony is our footprint in this world. Now all we have to do is live it out front of everyone; stranger, foe, family and friends. We can't let a misstep stop us; repent and get on with it. God loves all of us so very much that He is sending strong warning signals all over the world and you gotta know, evil cannot rule supreme as long as the Believers are here with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Grany
Thanks Grany, I'll take a look at that article later today. I skimmed it and it definitely looks like something Joel Richardson either discussed before, or would be interested in.
Ironically, I just posted something along the same topic in the comment section of the site I previously post about here
By the way, this is fascinating!
I'm reading alot of articles that are saying the same thing that the above link says.
There is more about the Gulf of Mexico than I realized (underground mountain range, volcano, massive gas deposits, fissures, earthquakes, etc.).
Kind of interesting that the Gulf of Mexico, where this oil rig catastrophe is, just happens to be directly south of the southernmost area of where the New Madrid faultline is located. Maybe this BP oil spill is what sets everything off.
Just wanted to check in. I have been without power for the past 24 hours, from about 12:10 Friday afternoon until 12:51 this afternoon. (About 3 hours ago as I write this.) It is the LONGEST I have been without power since August of 1981, when I lived on the 15th floor of a 20-story building in Minneapolis and a tornado knocked out power for 3 days. I'll say this: when the fertilizer hits the rotating device, I'm going to be wearing a lot of fertilizer.
I don't know what our straight-line winds were (EDIT -- just learned they were between 60 and 75 mph); I only know the yard across the parking lot had branches about 3-4 inches thick laying in it. 5,900 people in my city were without power; 11,000 in the county. Repairs were hampered by fresh storms that came rolling in periodically. The second storm came in around 4:30, when I felt the temperature drop and the sky turned black within a minute. It certainly wasn't the severity of the first storm, but the lightning displays were fun.
It was like that all evening -- things would calm down, then boil up again suddenly. I finally went out about 11:00 that night to buy some ice to try to keep things in my fridge from spoiling. I kept expecting the power to come back any minute, because that's the way it's been all my life. I attribute the current lack of spoilage to the fact that whenever I used one of those small bottles of water, I've filled it from the tap and stuck it in the freezer to make sure the freezer was always full. When the power went out I pulled a few of the bottles out of the freezer and stuck them in the fridge next to the milk. Still, I expect to get "fluffy" over the next few days (make that "fluffy-er") eating what there is in the fridge before it spoils.
WHAT I LEARNED
I don't have enough batteries, and I depend WAY too much on rechargables. My rechargables are all about 3 years old, and they simply don't hold charges like they used to (or should). By the time I went to bed, I had 10 AA and 4 D cells on my desk that were dead. I'm testing out my solar recharger now, but it only does 4 at a time. I wound up digging into my emergency stash of regular batteries. While I used 3 AA cells on my emergency radio (which will eat up my rechargables like candy), the others were used on a flashlight, and my fans. I couldn't keep my windows open as wide as I wanted because when the rain came, it came without warning and I can't close the windows quickly. So I depended on two battery-operated fans to keep the air moving.
I also learned that, yes, while my gas STOVE works without electricity (had to use a match to light it, but it worked), my gas OVEN doesn't. I'll have to see if I can get something that fits on the range top that will work as an oven. I had to cook and eat half of a pizza at noon because it was thawing in the freezer. If I could have figured out a way to cook it on the stove for breakfast, I would have.
Best news is that no one was hurt or killed in the storm or in the aftermath. Will write more later.
<><
Jim C, I'm so sorry to hear you're without power. That is so difficult. I don't know if it'll help you or not, but my brother (delivers appliances) said that dishwashers actually insulate better than freezers, refrigerators or coolers when power is out or if someone is waiting for delivery of a new appl. If you have a dishwasher, shove what you can into it, in pans or whatever put bags of ice into it. I hope your power comes on soon.
Lori, thanks! I posted that about 3 hours after my power came back on. I don't have a dishwasher. I AM storing my daughter's dorm fridge for the summer; I'll try to use that, too.
The next time I lose power for more than an hour, I'm going out to buy ice. The local food store also sells dry ice; I might get a block of that, too.
I'll tell you, I REALLY missed having internet! I wanted SO much to pull up the radar page and see where the storms were and where they were heading.
I just heard on the TV that more storms are expected over the next few days.

Part I
SPIRITUAL MEDICATION
by John McConell
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Rom. 10:17, NKJV.
Every morning I line up about fifteen pill boxes on the kitchen
counter preparing for my daily medication. These include vitamins, minerals, antioxidant pills, anti-inflamatory pills, pills for hypertension, pills for cholesterol control, pills for joint pain, and they are all considered necessary to maintain health and a comfortable lifestyle. This was not always so, but we have become
a highly medicated society. There seems to be a pill for just
about every human malady. Even the progress of so-called incurable
diseases can be slowed and somtimes temporarily stalled by modern drugs. Of course, when medication fails, we must resort to surgery or radiation. A multi-million dollar pharmaceutical industry and research have resulted from the demand for ever more effective drugs. A federal agency, the FDA, has been established to monitor and certify the safety of these drugs.
Part II
Many of these modern medications are arrived at by meticulous
research in large modern laboratories, but some have been
discovered seemingly by accident, or, as some would say, divine
providence. The story of the discovery of penicillin is one such
case. Winston Churchill was saved from drowning as a teenager by
a classmate named Alexander Fleming. Churchill's parents were so grateful that they paid for Fleming's expenses to attend medical college. In 1928, while working in a laboratory, Fleming left a petri dish containing a bacterial culture on the counter overnight. The next morning he discovered that a mold had killed all the bacteria. He named the mold penicillin after the bacteria it had killed. By 1941 penicillin had become a miracle drug used to cure many bacterial infections. About that time Winston Churchill had become the prime minister of Britain and was attending an important meeting in Gibraltar. While there he became seriously ill with pneumonia. An emergency supply of penicillin was sent and
administered, and Churchill's life was saved a second time by
Alexander Fleming and his miracle drug.
Part III
Are we as careful and diligent to preserve our spiritual health as
we are our physical? What precautions and what medications are we using to this end? Do we guard the avenues to the soul, the five senses, against infection that would contaminate our moral fiber? Do we harbor anti-social thoughts and feelings such as greed, envy, hate, or anger that would cause us to be spiritually ill? Or do we feed our minds with things that are true, noble, just, pure, and lovely (Phil 4:8)? As we medicate for good physical health, we also need to medicate for our spiritual well-being. This spiritual well-being depends on our faith in God's existence, His promises, and His provision for our salvation. Thus "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Rom. 10:17). Daily reading and meditation on God's Word is what I choose to call "spiritual medication."
Jim C,
So glad that you are ok. These storms are something else lately! We have had a strong thunderstorm every night and once time in the earlier morning for the past few weeks! Have had some flooding and a tornado warning but nothing major. It is highly unusual to get this many storms in the middle of June here. I do not usually even check the forcast at this time of year, I am just used to it being hot and humid. These storms seems to come out of know where!
Also, if anyone would, please pray for my husband and I. The Lord knows what is needed. Thank you so much.
Diana
Be Alert! Special Report-TEA Party/Christian Right Infiltration
I just saw on the new where there are a number of places around here that have experienced flooding due to construction. In one place the builders set up temporary dams as a standard procedure (until construction has proceeded until sod can be laid); the rain was so hard that the rainfall overwhelmed the dams. In another place the culverts the city put in place during road construction turned out to be inadequate.
Glad I don't live near a creek.

See! This is what I'm talking about! I checked the radar about an hour and a half ago, and there was nothing in my area. The nearest storm system was down in Kansas.
Now, there are some storm systems heading in my direction, with some hail possible! They might die out before they reach me, or they may explode. You can see what I'm talking about at this link. Use the controls in the upper left corner to zoom in and out; plus you can "grab" the map with your mouse and move it around to your part of the country.
Gotta love Iowa in June. And in July. It gets kinda muggy in August, with humidity in the 90's, 95% tops, but that only lasts into September.

Pangs?
mac,
I think it is more like contractions!!!! Pangs are just before the water breaks and from there on it is contractions of the first kind. There is another Jewish Feast Day or something along those lines that happens mid summer after the Day of Pentecost and back at Joels blog I posted about it but I cannot find it now. Anyway it had to do with the first gathering of either barley or wheat. Anyone know what it is?
I have spent the last 18 months trying to find it and so far, zilch!
JIM, you know how to address that storm? My son is going to be affected by that system that is laying off to the southwest of you. Looks like it might be a little angry.
ATTY,
I checked the links out and the young man that is moving to Australia seems to be very serious about our future. Do you hold the same views? It is hard to get my mind wrapped around the urgency he is expressing and I am wondering if it is because I live in an area that is pretty laid back and just a tad self sustaining for yeons. However, I am very much aware that our current occupant of the Mocha House isn't too comfortable with our independence. Add to that the fact that Oklahoma didn't prefer him in either the primary races or the national elections, things could change in a blink. I just want to be alert and ready because this ole hen isn't going to the stew pot without giving them all a run they won't forget soon.
So, is the rest of the nation as concerned as Matt is? My cave is ready and I know I will be having a lot of guests come for a long stay if it is the coming thing.
Grany, Wasn't that a Perry Stone teaching? I remember hearing him talking about the different harvest... barley..etc
See if this answers your question...
THE PASSOVER (BARLEY) HARVEST / THE RAPTURE HARVEST (PERRY STONE)
I think we should not only be aware of external signs of God's coming, but also be on the lookout for the deceptions that are creeping into our churches--and lives.
Michigan church members from my denomination had our week-long camp meeting this past week, and one of the preachers talked about the deceptions mentioned in the Bible.
2 Tim 3:12, 13: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
The preacher said that Satan likes to have us look one way, while the deceptions creep in another way. Otherwise, they wouldn't be deceptions, would they?
What do you all think are some of the deceptions that we should be on the lookout for?
Vicki
Grany, Shalom! RE: addressing the storm, funny you should ask that! Two days ago one of the people on the End Times thread on CAF (who lives in Texas) posted this "Prayer or Blessing Against Storms." It's prayed while kneeling either in front of a crucifix or facing in the direction of the storm. I'll post it in full; you can adapt how you feel called to do:
Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace. + God became man, + and the Word was made flesh. + Christ was born of a virgin. + Christ suffered. + Christ was crucified. + Christ died. + Christ rose from the dead. + Christ ascended into Heaven. + Christ conquers. + Christ reigns. + Christ orders. + May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning. + Christ went through their midst in Peace, + and the Word was made Flesh. + Christ is with us with (or, "through") Mary. + Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Juda, the Root of David, was won. + Holy God! + Holy Powerful God ! + Holy Immortal God! + Have mercy on us. Amen!
( + ) Denotes times to make the Sign of the Cross. ("In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit")
FWIW, "The Sign of the Cross" isn't just a Roman Catholic thing. The Eastern Church (incl. the Orthodox Churches) also use it -- for cultural reasons they make the cross from right to left instead of left to right. You'll read in the Early Church Fathers how this blessing by "marking with the Sign" has been practiced from the times of the earliest Christians, starting with a mark traced on the forehead.
Also, we can trace the age of this prayer by the "with" or "through" Mary. The doctrine of "hypostatic union" (that Jesus is both True God and True Man, and was so from the instant of His Conception) was formally defined at the Council of Chalcedon in 451. By saying "with" or "through" we are acknowledging that Jesus was born the Son of God through Mary ("Word made Flesh"), not that He was just a man who was later created God.

ATTY,
Just read the info on the oil spill and remembered yesterday when I was listening to an interview with an official expressing disbelief that several skimmer ships which had been ready to deploy at the spill site were inexplicably turned away by the Coast Guard. No explanation given. I think they were allowed a day later to begin work, but the official was furious that he/others were being left in the dark as to the whys, etc. This info might provide reasoning.
Grany, Atty,
I read that thread & Atty specifically asked him if he was a Christian. He dodged that question but said that it looks like the Christian prophecies are lining up.
So...??? Is this moving to Australia Spirit led or flesh led?
I had a chat w/God about that last night. A one way chat-so far. He knows the length of our days so if my lot in life is to get nuked then that's what it's going to be.
If He wants us to relocate at some point for some reason then we'll know when the time comes.
You can see w/o the Spirit of God as our strength what is looming ahead of us can become overwhelming. I bet the elite are busy building their bomb/nuke shelters in their homes if they don't already have have one.
But then who wants to live in one & for how long ? Then when you come out look what you'll come out to:death/destruction/fear/pestilance/etc...
If you're unsure about your future then I suppose the desire is to live @ any cost. (Personally I rather be w/the Lord.)
Diana,
I will definitely pray for you and your husband. This past week, the Lord opened my eyes to a truth that is so obvious I feel silly for not having really noticed it before. When it comes to grace, we either need to be extending it or receiving it. As the Lord has done to us, we need to do to others. As the Lord has done for others, He will do for us as well.
May The LORD bless you and your husband and keep you and your husband; May the LORD make his face shine upon you and your husband and be gracious to you and your husband; the LORD turn his face toward you and your husband and give you and your husband peace. Amen.
Amen Jim G.
If you're unsure about your future then I suppose the desire is to live @ any cost. (Personally I rather be w/the Lord.)
Sounds like something Paul would say, Lisa. I like it.
Jim G,
Thank you so much for your prayer, your thoughts and the blessing that you wrote from the word of the Lord. I greatly appreciate that.

a friend at church told me this morning that they have discovered that this BP oil well is actually a caldera. she was going to send the link but has yet to do so. any one else see anything about this?

I saw the spill referred to as a caldera... but not in the literal sense of the word. I haven't actually seen anyone call it a caldera yet. You can go to this site and see the shape of the floor of the Gulf..you might need to zoom in...

So, that message is out in space somewhere and maybe we will never know what I said. In the meantime,
I am not worried one little bit about the future of our nation or of myself. Not because i am too old to matter but because my Lord said he would never leave me or forsake me. Now I consider that the Greatest company I could ever have.
Great article Vicki on Spiritual Medication.
Grany
Well, wouldn't you know, I posted the very same link that ATTY did. Now I can't find the one I wanted to share with all of you. It is about the Dutch company that has oil rigs in the Gulf offering and then the actual correspondence that was sent to the Mocha HOuse in DC. Can't find it and so I will say just this. Never let a disaster or Crisis go to waste" Emmanuel, Emnanuel! Someday my little fellow you will pay big time for your foolishness.
Hi Grany, I don't share the view of Matt's from 1913intel.com.
In the past, I thought I might consider moving elsewhere, but everywhere has its problems, and to quote an appropriate saying, "the devil you know is better than the one you don't". I've been here 25 years now and like it too much where I'm at. As long as I have my current job, I would likely never leave. We did move in the last two months away from the coast, to an area inland called Rancho Bernardo in San Diego (where Lisa's Church is, and soon to be ours as well, as soon as we start going), on a street that has a higher elevation which was important for me. Ever since that tsunami hit Indonesia, I became a little more concerned about the dangers of living in the low lying area we previously lived in, not far from a lagoon fronting the ocean in a valley.
Jen, yes, I think there has been alot of questionable or not entirely true reporting about the oil spill. Even on Fox News today, I finally started hearing them say what youtube videos were saying days and weeks ago, which is that the oil is gushing out at 100,000 barrels a day, and not the 5,000-10,000 barrels a day they have been telling us. I'm now waiting to see if the mainstream media starts talking about the methane risk, underground volcano and tsunami risk that scientists (reportedly) on youtube are warning about. I really worry about Florida and many of the southern Gulf States whose land masses appear to be too close to sea level, and thus extremely susceptible to the pollution from hurricane flooding, and God forbid the results of a tsunami from an explosion in the Gulf because of methane or as a result of some of the other theories that have been discussed.
Yes Lisa, I noticed that Matt from 1913intel.com dodged the question too. He had an opportunity to witness with a simple acknowledgment and for whatever reason, chose not to. Hopefully it wasn't intentional. He "might" be like many who clearly see that this age is winding down, but are unable to make the connection to what the bible says.
Hi Jib, I'm aware of that book, but thank you.
Campsmore, thanks for the link. I had not heard of Abiotic oil before. I'll have to read that link.
FINALLY! Some Good news. Growing Israeli interest in Yeshua (Jesus)
And also, I was in a public place (Knott's Berry Farm) yesterday w/o incident. (nothing strange occured.) I even wore my "Global Warming" Don't be here when things really heat up! 2 Peter 2:10.
It was worn w/pride as I faced off w/the plethora of Satanic T-Shirts.
well this will probably get lost in the shuffle
Volcano and BP oil rig
Oh, dear.
(Remember the scene in "Speed" when the wimpy guy was given the cell phone and was told to relay all the information Keanu Reeves' character says about the bomb on the bus? Reeve's character gets a good look at the bomb and lets loose a string of profanity, which the guy renders as, "Oh, dear.")
Here is a link from "Spirit Daily" regarding the oil spill. To summarize, according to this article, the danger isn't from radioactive oil (which is never mentioned). The danger is from pressurized methane gas. To quote from the article:
None other than the engineer who helped lead the team to snuff the Gulf oil fires set by Saddam Hussein to slow the advance of American troops has stated that a huge underground lake of methane gas—compressed by a pressure of 100,000 pounds per square inch (psi)—could be released by BP's drilling effort to obtain the oil deposit.
Current engineering technology cannot contain gas that is pressurized to 100,000 psi.
IF this is the case and the gas is release, several things will happen at once:
All the ships in the area will sink immediately. The sudden release of undersea gas is now suspected in several cases of ships that have disappeared without a trace. Small-scale tests have shown that only a relatively small amount of gas rising up under a ship is needed to reduce the buoyancy of the water, causing the ship to literally sink like a stone.
Any prop-driven aircraft flying in the area will crash, as the methane interferes with the engine combustion. Again, only relatively small amounts of methane are necessary to cause the engines to die.
(cont.)
(cont. from above)
A pocket of methane at 100,000 psi will cause a supersonic release of the gas (there's some evidence that this is what caused the initial explosion); if the amount of gas described in the pocket is accurate, the gas geyser will create tsunamis 150 to 200 feet tall (i.e., 15 to 20 stories tall) that will move at supersonic speeds (between 400 and 600 mph) across the Gulf. Since Florida is at the most 100 feet above sea level, this will make many Floridians unhappy.
The second part of this "Oh dear" has to do with some information from a friend on the Catholic Answers Forum. She has a friend who is a mystic, who occasionally recv's "messages" from G_D. These messages are private, not for public distribution, so he discusses them only with friends of his. One of these friends is my friend on CAF. A few years back, this mystic was granted a vision of a giant wave coming over Texas from the Gulf, which would stop by Dallas. He talked about it with his friends, but no one could figure out if this wave was to be literal or symbolic. About 3 years ago, though, he moved his family from Houston to Dallas -- a distance of about 250 miles.
A gas geyser like this would be enough to cause a giant wave like the one in his vision to occur.
Using the lower figure of 400 mph, the tsunami waves would start hitting New Orleans 15 to 20 minutes after the geyser blew. Going to the west, Houston would be inundated about an hour after the event, and the waves would die out at the edge of Dallas between an hour and a half and two hours after the event. (The wave speed will decrease as it moves inland.) Moving east, Mobile will disappear 30 minutes after the event; Tallahassee will be it about 45 minutes after the event; St. Petersburg will go under about an hour after the event, and Miami a little over an hour and a half after the event. Mind you, these are only the first waves of the event; other waves will come later, but I don't know enough to calculate the wave frequency. Also, if the tsunamis are moving at the upper speed of 600 mph the waves will arrive faster. I don't know how far the waves will come into Georgia; probably at least as far as Valdosta.
This will not be the slow-moving-but-powerful waves of the Indonesian tsunamis. Think of the waves at the end of the movie "Deep Impact". If you jumped out of an airplane, your terminal velocity is around 200mph -- you're not going to fall any faster. The waves will be moving at 400mph when they reach land -- there will be no sound to warn people, and it will literally be like a brick wall flying through the air. People will not know what hit them. As the waters move inland, the speed will fall below supersonic, however, expect some severe sonic damage from the initial shock wave. A wall of water 150 feet high moving at 400 mph will be pushing a LOT of air ahead of it, even after it slows down and is only 75 feet high.
Oh, dear, indeed.

Oh, a P.S.: the caldera that's described isn't volcanic in origin. It's believed to be from the asteroid that hit the earth that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. It's the one they picture in the opening scene for the movie "Armageddon."
This whole oil spill ordeal had me thinking more of the "Day of the Lord" & what happens to the ocean at that time & the ships sinking. We will have the "sign" of the Blood red Moon & Black Sun "Before" the Day of the Lord occurs.
Joel 2:31 "The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD."
Acts 2:20 'THE SUN WILL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF THE LORD SHALL COME
Isaiah 13:9 "Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it."
Isaiah 13:10 "For the stars of heaven and their constellations Will not flash forth their light; The sun will be dark when it rises And the moon will not shed its light."
Isaiah 34:4 "And all the host of heaven will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree."
Rev 6:2 "I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind."
Revelation 7:2 "Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea:"Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God."
(Trumpet- 1/3 dies)Revelation 8:8 "The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood,a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed."
(Bowl- everything dies)
Revelation 16:3 " The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died."
Lisa, have you heard about a phenomena that happened in the early 1800's when the stars fell? Pretty interesting. Some slaves were eyewitnesses to it and this is how one of them described it.
"Somebody in the quarters started yellin' in the middle of the night to come out and to look up at the sky. We went outside and there they was a fallin' everywhere! Big stars coming down real close to the groun' and just before they hit the ground they would burn up! We was all scared. Some o' the folks was screamin', and some was prayin'. We all made so much noise, the white folks came out to see what was happenin'. They looked up and then they got scared, too.
"But then the white folks started callin' all the slaves together, and for no reason, they started tellin' some of the slaves who their mothers and fathers was, and who they'd been sold to and where. The old folks was so glad to hear where their people went. They made sure we all knew what happened.........you see, they thought it was Judgement Day."
Falling Stars
I am not condoning the website--I know nothing about it--but came across this account while doing an internet search for "night of the falling stars" as I had heard about this before.
Vicki, I didn't know about that. How interesting!
New post is up.
