2Co 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort,
2Co 1:4 He comforting us in all our trouble, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in every trouble, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2Co 1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds by Christ.
2Co 1:6 And if we are troubled, it is for your consolation and salvation, being worked out in the endurance of the same sufferings which we also suffer; if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

MBS066 – The Ministries of the Holy Spirit – A Messianic Bible Study from Ariel Ministries (pdf)
I think I stayed up too late.
I took the Quiz on the Eternal Security Lesson (Q102) on the Ariel Ministries site. Wow. That was a very long quiz!!!
Latest from Randy and Becky:
Update- March 26, 2010
In our last communication we told you that we would update you from time to time on our “spiritual kids” in Colombia… the indigenous church planters that we have been asked to pastor, spiritually parent, and train in the ways of God in leadership. The truth be told, I find myself silently asking the question, “who is learning from who here?” The growing friendship and mutual deepening is beyond joy. Through these snap shots, we trust you will fall in love with these brave, young pioneers as we have, and regularly cover them and their work in prayer.
William and Jin are a precious young couple that have been serving jungle tribes for seven years now. They have a beautiful preschooler named Samuel. For 3 years they built the now-thriving work among the Cubeo (where the pastor martyrdom took place in late 2008), and then for the next 4 they pioneered work among the Macuno, Tayuca, Tanimuca, and Toicano tribes. Becky and I were stirred by their descriptions of the depth of need there and their “whatever it takes” commitment to meet it. Their report: “Even the witchdoctors are hungry…”
I remember when I first met them two years ago. I was speaking for the first time to CRISALICO’S (our ministry partner in Colombia) young missionary force of over 100. At that time, William’s training and convictions convinced him that Christian women belonged in the home, and if they did any church work, it was with the children only. On that day of teaching about women in ministry, there was significant breakthrough, and this precious couple became the poster children for a new day. I watched as William repented to his wife, laid hands on her for the ministry dreams God had called her to, and embraced her not only as his spouse but equal partner in ministry. After some time in counseling that week, they returned to the field as a God-sent, Spirit empowered team.
When Becky and I interviewed, counseled and prayed with them last month, we laughed about that day, but today Jin has blossomed- beautiful, intelligent and inquisitive, she is full of rich ministry insights and more than free to confidently share them in any setting. She is an amazing servant leader sharing a God-sized dream with her husband. And what is that dream?
William and Jin dream of building a team that will reach all the unreached tribes in the Amazon region where they have been working the past 7 years. But first, because of government restrictions, they must return to school. The tribes deep in the jungle are closed to them because they are not seen as “professionals” in the eyes of their government, and therefore are not considered an asset to the culture. These are tribes that have never heard the name of Jesus…
So William is starting studies in business administration, and Jin in “ethnic recovery education,” or helping tribals read and write in their own language. It will take about four years (and as the $ come in), but in the end, THE GOVERNMENT WILL HIRE THEM TO SERVE THERE AND NOT CARE AT ALL THAT THEY ARE BUILDING THE CHURCH SO LONG AS THEY ARE ENHANCING TRIBAL LIFE….WOW! And these communities are already asking for them. That’s God’s favor.
So, please join us in prayer for William, Jin and Samuel… for continued favor, and the resources to finish their education and return to tribes that await them. Because when they return, Jesus will come with them to these villages…for the first time…
Cultural fact- Witchdoctors among the Macuna have the big responsibility to ritually pray over every pregnant woman. Through “revelation” he knows if it’s a boy or girl, and if they will be a hunter, singer, witchdoctor, etc. If the unborn is a future witchdoctor, he puts the mom on a strict diet and names the baby based on its calling. If he’s not 100%, he can no longer be a witchdoctor…
At age 10, future witchdoctors are given a drink, a combination of drug and spirit that puts them in a trance. While in the trance, he is introduced to a spirit guide that will help him decide if he will be a good or bad witchdoctor. He can never marry- marriage would hinder his spiritual power to fulfill his village duties.
The tribes of Colombia await the coming of God’s love and grace. Thanks for your partnership in the Gospel.
Randy

A man from Saudi Arabia was asking me about Jesus & the Wine miracle- is it a sin to drink?
Here are some articles I ran across if interested:
Jesus and Wine
Should Christians drink alcohol?
My kindergarten son told me this morning of a boy in his class who does not know who Jesus is. Isaac told him that He is our God, but the boy had not heard of Him!! :( This is the first time this has come up with a child so young in one of the kids classes. Most kids that I have known have at least heard of Jesus and had an idea of who He is. Say a prayer for a little boy named Hunter please.
Jim C, any new news on the job front?

I disagree with both. I will tell you that natural fermentation despite what Mr Hoyt said is indeed possible. to make good wine requires art but fruit can and does ferment all on it's own as I have been the unfortunate recipient of fermented fruit still unpeeled or untouched in any fashion.
As to people reading their own interpretations into things I would suggest that those you quote are just as guilty as the ones they are preaching against.
I also think they misinterpret "well drunk" putting a 21st century spin on what may not be a 21st century issue. Surely the father of the bride would also have been guilty of violating the same commands that the authors insist Christ would have been guilty of violating just by serving alcohol? Although I have never been drunk I have observed with others that if truly drunk they don't have the intellectual capability for much discernment. So I doubt very highly they would be able to tell the difference between good wine and bad wine-one of the points of the story is that the guests immediately recognized that the new stuff was better than the old stuff and commented that this was not the norm. the other guests noted that usually the good stuff was brought out first and then when the guests were too drunk to know the difference the inferior stuff was brought out. which suggests to me that the guests at the wedding thought whatever Christ made was real wine.
having said that, I do think caution is called for. if a single glass of alcohol would be a stumbling block then it should not be consumed. However, I would note the same about movies which is not exactly a popular thing to take on.
so Jim
how did you score :-)
well let's try that again
Water into wine the other side
Jib, I don't know. This is the 1st time I've looked into it.
It does make sense to me that Jesus was not making alcoholic wine in contradiction to what scripture repeatedly warns against.
Otherwise it's hypocritical & we know Jesus wouldn't promote such behavior.
Personally, I drink a glass of wine now and then but I come from a family who many – or should I even say- most-have become functioning alcoholics.
I've experienced being on the receiving end of what alcohol does to a person's behavior/thinking & it's really ugly. So I tend to side w/the articles even though I've never considered it in this light before.
It's a little convicting actually.
Lisa
the issue is that nearly all wine is made from the natural fermentation of grapes. they don't do much to it. the alcohol content depends on the amount of natural sugar in the grape. no sugar or alcohol is added to normal wine. they don't add any yeast either. brandy on the other hand is a fortified wine and does have alcohol added to it. the yeast for the wine comes from that which occurs naturally on the grapes. we did the experiment actually in college microbiology. the first man who says grapes don't ferment naturally to wine but to vinegar is in error from a biology standpoint point. one must have wine before one gets the vinegar.
since you have seen people drunk then you know as well as I do that people who are blazingly drunk or as drunk as the articles you posted suggest they were none of the guests would be able to tell the difference between good or bad wine.
I drink rarely. usually am asleep or sleepy with a glass of red or 2 glasses of white. some reds give me a blazing headache. hate beer and not overly fond of spirits.

Concerning the discussion on the Holy Spirit:
Here is my AHA moment (Quoting Dr. Fruchtenbaum).
"The danger of deriving doctrine from historical accounts.
Another very important point to make is that doctrine must not be developed from historical accounts but from clear, positive, directive statements made from Scripture. the danger of deriving theology from historical accounts is the misconception that, because something happened in a certain way at a certain point in time, it must always happen the same way."
It seems that in every book I have ever read about the Holy Spirit, the authors have referenced Acts or there own experiences as a way of setting doctrine on the actions of the Spirit.
The way Dr. Fruchtenbaum explains the workings of the Holy Spirit is clear and scriptural. He even gives clear explanations as to why the Holy Spirit seemed to work differently at times in Acts. I believe this is why there is so much confusion about the subject.
I also urge all of us to read the referenced study. I would like to know what everyone thinks?
This is an approach that I have not heard or read before, well worth the study!!
Maranatha!
4. Apology not withstanding, Carter reverts to anti-Israel rhetoric
Guess he just cannot help himself.
I heard a talk given by a minister on our local Christian radio station where he related a personal and intense experience of the Holy Spirit long after he was saved. He called it the baptism of the Spirit. Whatever it was and however we attempt to explain it, the experience was valid for him and bore fruit that was reflected in the coming years. I have my personal thoughts on this but will keep them to myself as this is a subject I know very little about...along with all the others.
Jib, I remember as a teen getting tipsy drinking apple cider! I also remember helping someone load fermented grapes into a large vat in preparation for pressing. We all got a little merry just on the fumes long before it turned into wine!
I have had some fairly interesting peaches :-) I usually spit them out though-not really that into wines other than the ones made from grapes and that just barely
I did a word search for yayin (H3196 fermented intoxicating wine). While it’s used in Gen 9:21 where Noah got drunk, it’s also used in many other Scriptures in a positive or neutral light (Gen 14:18, Ecc 9:7 etc).
I don’t see the logic or benefit in using Hab 2:15 and the grape juice argument with the wedding feast incident. The only word for wine used in John 2:3-10 is oinos (G 3631). So whatever the guests were drinking is exactly what Jesus turned the water into. Even if you can successfully argue that the Lord turned the water into some watered down grape juice – that is exactly what the guests had been drinking to get them “well-drunk” in the first place.
Germany's Law to Remedy the Distress of the People and the Nation also known as The Enabling Act was passed March 23, 1933. This effectively gave Hitler the power he needed to establish dictatorship. He promised not to overuse his powers though, not to worry. To the day, 77 years later, BOO signed his health care reform bill into law. I wonder if this means anything.
Mac. impeccable logic :-)
Also, on March 23, the Dow closed at 10,888.83. This caused me to wonder if there is any significance to the number 8. I don't know anything about Biblical meaning of numbers so I asked on another site I frequent. The number 8 can mean new beginning, either positively or negatively. I found Ed Vallowe’s “Biblical Mathematics" via google and guess what the number 23 means? Death. The number 7 (as in 77 years ago) means completeness, fulness.
Sounds like backpedalling or damage control to me

Lisa, thank you for posting those links about wine in the Bible. I think it's very important to see the "other side" of this question.
Personally I cannot imagine Jesus, our holy and pure Savior, turning water into something fermented that can kill brain cells, loosen inhibitions, and affect a person's judgment.
I for one can use all the brain cells I can get! And with Satan roaming around as a roaring lion, I need to keep my wits about me to be alert at all times!
God bless,
Vicki
Vicki, Shalom! You wrote:

Tools and intents, my dear. Tools and intents. Last year I embarked on a personal project to encourage the use of Iowa wines as Sacramental Eucharistic wines. I wound up learning more about the techniques, terms, and history of wine-making than I ever imagined or wanted to. For one thing, alcohol does not "kill brain cells" any more than water causes drowning. It's only when there's too much water that you drown; likewise, you only become drunk when you consume too much alcohol, and the brain cells die only when you keep up the poisoning. For another, I had no idea that something as simple as "fruit of the vine and work of human hands" could be so blessedly complex.
First, definitions. By law in most states, Iowa included, the product has to have at least 6% alcohol to be considered wine, but no more than 13-14%. This upper limit is because the fermentation will continue until all the sugar in the juice is consumed. If it's more than 14%, it means that something has been done to the wine, with either sugar or alcohol added, so that it's no longer "pure" wine. If the wine has not been modified and it's at 14%, then it's a VERY dry wine. My guess is that at a wedding celebration, they're not going to have a VERY dry wine, so the amount of alcohol would have been much lower, closer to 6%.
(As a point of information, the majority of commercial winemakers no longer depend on the natural yeasts that would already be on the grape skins. For consistancy's sake the majority of them use commercial yeasts that allow them to control the fermentation and obtain the subtleties of flavor that they're trying to develop. The addition of commercial yeast doesn't affect whether or not the result can be sacramental wine, so long as the fermentation is strictly yeast converting sugar to alcohol. There was a major scandal in France a couple of hundred years ago, where a French wine vendor was mixing poor quality wine with grape juice and selling that as sacramental wine. Not good.)
Second, practicalities. For most of humanity's lifetime, fermentation was the ONLY reliable way of purifying water. American colonists drank "weak beer" -- beer with very little alcohol -- over water because you couldn't alway trust a water source, esp. in the cities. And while tea and coffee, which require boiling water, were available in the colonies, they WEREN'T available in first-century Israel. So while water was drunk, it was usually wine that was served with dinner. In addition, the wine would have been watered down which would have reduced the percentage of alcohol available. If you've grown up drinking this most of your life, you'll find that it's not something that will make you drunk or kill your brain cells. It's only the ABUSE of the wine that causes that. The wine is the tool. The tool, like any tool, can be used or abused. It depends entirely on your intents: to quench your thirst at dinner, or to loose your inhibitions and co-incidentally kill some brain cells.

P.S. No news on the job front. Don't worry -- when I get a job I'll be online within the hour to spread the news!
Amen Jim C. it all comes down to intent. too much food is bad for you yet I don't think there is anyone who would claim that food is intrinsically evil. The article i linked to brought up that point as well. Was Christ leading people into gluttony with the miracles of food that he performed. Keep in mind that there was a large quantity of food left over and everyone ate their fill. I would have to speculate that there were those who overate yet no one mentions that.
As to the actual process of fermentation while we might use commercial yeast in this day and age I doubt very highly they would have in 1st century Israel.
We had an interesting discussion in Sunday School which bears on this topic-God obviously created the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. the tree was not intrinsically bad nor were the fruit intrinsically bad it was the deliberate eating of the fruit of that tree in rebellion to God's command that is the issue and the source of sin. Was it the fruit of the tree that imparted a sense of sin or was it the eating of the fruit in rebellion which imparted the sense of sin and wrong? food for thought. I would have to lean away from the fruit imparting the actual knowledge of good and evil and come down on the side of the ACT of eating the fruit as imparting the knowledge of good and evil. either way it was the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
my thoughts for what they are worth after pondering things Perhaps what is experienced as a separate baptism of the Spirit has more to do with being yielded to God and maturity in the faith in that prior to that experience you do not have the maturity for the gifts God wishes you to have nor are you at a place that God can bless you with those gifts either.

The Psalm 83 Revealing: Coincidence or Providence?
(This is sort of interesting- didn't know about it before:)
Bill Salus:
July 26, 2006: In what was heralded as the Irish equivalent to the “Dead Sea Scrolls”, numerous notable newspapers reported that Psalm 83 had been discovered in Irish bog soil. Preserved and opened in place, this parchment potentially represents a seedling planted in the past designed to be uncovered at the opportune time. Apparently that was the summer of 2006.
I find it curious that, although there are 150 Psalms, 1189 chapters, and 31,173 verses in the Bible, this one Psalm with a mere 18 passages was discovered preserved and open in place. It simply required a little careful handling and some skilled dusting off in order to read its prophetically timely contents. Other Psalms were found alongside at the time, however, they were severely fragmented and scarcely salvageable.
Analysts were shocked that this ancient parchment buried for over 800 plus years under heavily weathered bog soil was virtually unblemished. Additionally, they were astonished that the manuscript wasn’t destroyed during the time of discovery. This wasn’t a skilled carefully orchestrated archaeological dig, rather a bulldozer trying to clear some landmass.

Jib,
You wanted to know how I scored on the the Eternal Security Lesson Quiz. I scored 90% (450 out of 500 points).
When I looked at the questions I missed, several were simple mistakes (misreading either the question or answer choices) and a couple I honestly answered wrong.
Before you OSAS proponents get too excited about how well I scored though, I must confess that I took the test with an aim towards seeing if I properly understood Dr. Fruchtenbaum's teaching on Eternal Security.
Unfortunately, the quiz revealed to me that he often misstates (presumably because he simply misunderstands) the position taken by those (such as myself) who reject his understanding of what the Bible teaches on this subject.
I do not reject the Word of God and I sincerely am open to change my thinking if I come to the conviction that I have misunderstood or misinterpreted Scripture somehow. That is why I read Dr. Fruchtenbaum's teaching on the subject. It is because he is so highly regarded by so many here and because people here whom I have grown to love and respect as brothers and sisters in Christ have encouraged me to check it out.
I would now challenge you to do the same. Check out the book Life in the Son by Robert Shank. I think Shank's thoroughness, sound reasoning, and extensive examination of the Scriptures will go a long way in helping you understand how a born-again, Bible-believing, brother or sister in Christ would reject Dr. Fruchtenbaum's position on Eternal Security. For starters, we believe that God's Word teaches that Christ died for all, not just for the elect.
Day of the Grasshopper Looms
Farmers and ranchers across the West are bracing for a grasshopper infestation that could devastate millions of acres of crops and land used for grazing.
Jim G
having just listened to Frucht's entire teaching on sin and salvation no where does he teach that HE believes that Christ died only for the elect. When he does teach he will teach a variety of view points i.e. he will mention both calvinism and hypercalvinism in the same teaching which I can often find confusing if I am not paying attention. i also just listened to the entire teaching on the death of the Messiah and he clearly and plainly states that Christ died for the sins of the whole earth-not just those after his death but also those before his death.
I think you may have misunderstood what he wrote as I have listened and read many of his teachings and I have never read or heard him say he believes Christ died only for the elect.
The whole Messianic Bible Study is great teaching but like JIM G. I can only testify to what I have experienced and lived. I know that my Abba is real, present and ever ready to save, fill, heal and protect. Coming from a Southern Baptist background of 26 years, 2 months and 2 days of loving and cherishing Jesus Christ and His Word, I didn't think much about the Holy Spirit. I was far from being a babe in God's word but I had been told, warned, restricted that there was nothing to this Holy Spirit baptism and certainly not for any of us in today's world. I didn't go searching for Him (HS) and really had cut that part of the bible out of my studies. NO, I was not seeking HS in anyway. I simply went to a prayer meeting where we all sang, prayed and fellowshipped with a mixed group of believers in Christ. They learned that I had previously injured my back in a lawn mowing event, had been told there was nothing else that could be done to ease the pain of sciatica and I had to accept it and I had. But I was hungry for Christian fellowship and so I asked if I could come to the Fellowship at the pastors home on July 7, 1990.
At the end of the service a friend made a casual remark about sitting on the sofa the next time instead of a hard chair and I responded that I could only sit on the hard chair because of the pain/condition. She asked the pastor to come pray for my back and as a really good, good baptist lady I didn't really know what to do about it. HEALING? Oh my!
I was healed that night by the power of the Holy Spirit and God's Word and to this day I do not have any sign of the sciatica and that has been 20 years. That was the first step in my new fellowship with the Holy Spirit. More was to come.
But the point of it all is, I knew it was totally God and no other. There were at least 15 people there that night and all of them participated in the prayers and laying on of hands. Some were HS filled and some were not. But they all loved God and served him faithfully.
By the way, I think this discussion will always be divided until either one of two things happens. We stand face to face with Jesus Christ in heaven to give our account of our life or you all get that Holy Spirit baptism and fire.
I'm praying!

Jib,
I agree with you, I do not recall Dr. Fruchtenbaum ever saying that he does not believe that Jesus died for all.
I'd be happy to look at any page or paragraph that indicates otherwise.
I spent a lot of time yesterday afternoon helping a friend with eternal security, and we went over the Frucht's Eternal Security pdf for a quick way to retrieve the scriptures he wanted to use, and I don't recall that subject even being mentioned; but I may be wrong.
Has anyone done his study on Thirty-Three Things: A Study of Positional Truth?
I started it last week, and I am just amazed by this scholar.
Mr. Hyde and GT, I appreciated your comments also.

So Grany,
I think that I have a pretty good handle on the Holy Spirit Baptism part.
So is this the refining fire of life's trials or is it a supernatural "instantaneous" cleaning up? Or even a combo of both? (Your personal experience sounded like a supernatural one.)
The more we are spiritually junked up- the more we quench the Spirit and therefore the potential for the fullness of the Holy Spirit will not be made manifest though us. (Although He dwells in us.)
Sort of like clogged arteries.
So the fire is a cleaning & purifying process- as used for our ongoing sanctification.
Am I on the right track?
Now here is a commentary specifically about the "fire" reference in Matthew 3:11 which does make sense to me in this particular context. Holy Ghost or Fire?
One trick that I use to make hyperlinking relatively easy is that I keep a Word document with the basic hyperlinking template.
I then simply cut and paste the two items that will change.
1.) The URL (internet address)
2.) The title or words that I want to show up as blue text.
I use it over and over again for hyperlinking here.
I'm scheduled to have my first cap and root canal ever in about an hour. Would appreciate your prayers. There is a very small chance that I won't need a root canal but my dentist thinks I probably will.
I'll have to look again where Frucht seemed to refer to the idea that Christ did not die for all. Maybe I'm wrong and have mischaracterized his position. I hope so. It's not an unusual doctrinal position though.
Google "doctrine of limited atonement" and you'll see what I mean. I think Wiki does a fair job of explaining the doctrine.
Lisa, both!
At the time I was so full of hurts over rejection, abuse and family fights going on all around me and no matter where I would be, there was a dispute. I didn't want to take sides, wouldn't take sides and resented the demands that were being thrown at me. Now, I didn't want to respond in the same manner that I had done prior to my Salvation and truthfully, neither did they if they had any sense at all. So, it was one of the heaps of stubble. The other was a misconception of just what does God's word really say. I am not going to get into that one because no one is going to change their opinion until God deals with them. No matter what it involves. OSAS, pretrib, post-trib, etc.
But God was the One giving and I was the one receiving and He knew what was ahead of me and where I would be serving Him. The fire still goes and it does more than just clean. The fire that is built up in my bones sort of thing happens and when it does, things change and God is glorified. So, the beginning is the refining and the continuing is the changer of my soul. My flesh gets singe treated every so often and no, it isn't right now!
But that fire is what stirs inside of me whenever I encounter evil, lost souls, and prayer time. It isn't the fire of the world and it isn't the same with everyone. I think the one thing is the enabling power of the Holy Spirit to overcome all adversity in and with His enabling. Seems to be that the fire also removes all fear, doubt and confusion right along with everything else. You know that you know and nothing except ignorance can keep you bound by anything else.
I call it being sold out and holding nothing back. I will go where He tells me to go, say what He tells me to say and do what He leads me to do. Even to the point where it doesn't make a lot of sense to me but in the end, glorifies Abba. I don't play around with the things of God and as far as I am concerned nothing that the Holy Spirit leads me to do will ever be a disgrace or bring ridicule on the name of Christian.
Summing up: Supernatural- Yes. Continues - yes. Always alive and on guard - yes. Can I feel the fire - YES!

Wow oh wow. I find myself at times holding my breath and have to remind myself to breathe. The world events are escalating at such a rapid speed now. One has to hold on, or get flung off around a corner.
Double up on your prayer time. Spend an extra bit of time in His word. And if you have time, educate yourself in world events, share this information with your neighbors and be ready with a encouraging word from the Bible.

Praise the Lord!!!
After the dentist began working on me this afternoon, he said he thought he could fix the tooth with just a filling. No need for a root canal and cap!!!
That is a definite answer to prayer. God not only about the each hair on our head but each tooth in our mouth.

I went on a spending binge and bought A LOT of Fruchts mp3 teachings and I did listen to the 33 things on positional truths. I listen alot while driving so I don't necessarily catch it all the first time. I do remember being quite impressed and it explained things well.
I should note that I frequently buy bundled teachings and that particular teaching was in the sin and salvation bundle
nor do I hyde.
Grany
so what you experienced did only come after a willingness to be yielded to God if I read what you wrote correctly. So would it not also be correct to state that you finally got to the place where God needed you to be to fully experience his blessings and the power of the Spirit which was there all along-you just weren't at a place where you could or would use or have it?
I'm not really nit picking per se I just think we are saying the same thing differently to an extent. What you call a second baptism I am calling being fully yielded and able to fully realize that which was there all along.
JIB
I don't think so. I had been weighing your question for a couple of hours and I realized I had never held back on serving God prior to July 1990. No, this was totally a different experience. The completeness was never there even though I was saved, love the Lord and tried my very best to serve Him.
The Fire was missing but so also was the complete immersion. Kinda like the difference between a baptism that consists of sprinkling and then one that is total immersion into the water. Or there are other ways to explain it. A light that is the size of a candle or one that is the size of a light house. Put a whole bunch of candles together and you have a room full of brightness but use that one little candle in a huge are and you have a speck. It is totally different and wonderfully given. You will know when He completely fills you to overflowing and you are no longer struggling to have the relationship with Jesus Christ.
He, the Holy Spirit, is the promised one that Jesus sent back from the Throne of God to empower us to live our lives in victory and completeness with Him. Salvation is the beginning and it is wonderful but there is much more.
I wish I could explain it better but all the while I am typing this, all I want to do is Glorify the Trinity of God and nothing else. My advice to all of you who are wondering is quite simple. Search, search and then pray, until you receive the revelation from Abba about who, what, why is the Holy Spirit needed twice. The second time is to fill you full and keep on being filled. Like the Israelites when they prayed for food in the wilderness. God told them to not try to store the manna up but to go out every morning and pick fresh manna. The Holy Spirit is fresh every day and more than ready to do His part in your life.
Now to bed and sweet peaceful sleep.
Love you all,
Grany
I was wrong. I apologize. I believe I did mischaracterize Dr. Fruchtenbaum's position (see my comments on March 28, 2010 11:07 PM). In an attempt to illustrate one of the theological positions that I hold which I thought was different from that held by Dr. Fruchtenbaum, I said: For starters, we believe that God's Word teaches that Christ died for all, not just for the elect.
I think I had some underlying assumptions about what constituted a OSAS theological position that colored my interpretation of what Dr. Fruchtenbaum was saying in some of the quiz questions and answers.
I've since realized that only some who hold to the OSAS position also believe in "limited atonement."
Anyway, I think the following makes it clear where Frucht stands on the issue of Christ's atonement. He is not of the "limited atonement" school of thought.
Excerpt from page 33 in Dr. Fruchtenbaum’s teaching entitled The Ten Facets of Our Salvation
(MBS103):
D. The Warrant for Faith
The fourth part of the facet of faith has to do with the warrant for faith. On what basis is it taught that one must believe to be saved? Here, two things should be mentioned.
First, there is the universal offer of the gospel. The fact that the Bible offers the gospel to all, universally, is the warrant for faith. The gospel is preached to all men, letting them know that, if they believe, they will be saved (Mat. 11:28; 28:19; Acts 17:30-31).
The second warrant for faith is the sufficiency of His saviorhood. The fact that He is sufficient to save all is another warrant for faith (Mat. 11:28; Jn. 6:37).
There is MUCH that I do agree with Dr. Fruchtenbaum on;-)
JIM G.
Said beautifully!
Now I would like to share a little prose with you all and it kinda explains how I feel about being a Christian and what we can do everyday we live.
GOD'S WIFE
An eye witness account from New York
City , on a cold day in December,
some years ago: A little boy,
about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the
roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering
With cold.
A lady approached the young boy and said,
'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'
'I was asking God to give me a pair of
shoes,'was the boy's reply.
The lady took him by the hand, went into
the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks
for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water
and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.
She took the little fellow to the back
part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed
his little feet, and dried them with the towel.
By this time, the clerk had returned with
the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him
a pair of shoes..
She tied up the remaining pairs of socks
and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No
doubt, you will be more comfortable now..'
As she turned to go, the astonished kid
caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears
in his eyes, asked her.
'Are you God's wife?'

Just received this special request from Ariel Ministries:
Calling All Prayer Warriors
There is a twofold purpose for Ariel Ministries’ existence:
1. Share the Gospel with Jewish people.
2. Disciple both Jewish and Gentile believers through intensive Bible teaching from a Jewish perspective.
Sharing the Gospel with Jewish people should be a priority for every believer in Jesus (Romans 1:16). Learning how cultural and historical issues can get in the way of a Jewish person coming to faith is of utmost importance for those who want to be involved in Jewish evangelism. Honestly, most Gentile believers are petrified about the thought of sharing
their faith with a Jewish person. The sad result is that Jewish evangelism is a non-issue for most within the Church. How this must hurt the heart of God!
In the absence of personal involvement in evangelism to Jewish people, many believers in Messiah simply give to agencies they think are involved
in this important task. Before giving, however, believers ought to take the time to find out how such funds are actually used. Organizations like Christians United for Israel and the International Federation of Christians and Jews collected over 150 million last year from well-intentioned Christians who thought that they were helping Jewish people. Unfortunately, neither of these organizations is involved in Jewish evangelism. CUFI is the brainchild of a well-known American
“evangelist.” This “minister of the Gospel” is unabashedly nonevangelistic in his relationships with Jewish people. The International Federation of Christians and Jews is run by a non-believing Jewish man.
Both organizations send the millions of dollars they collect to Jewish agencies in Israel that vigorously oppose the advance of the Gospel in their land.
The ultimate blessing you can give to Israel is to support organizations that share the Gospel unapologetically.
Next month, Ariel Ministries will unveil Messiah Comes, a project that has been under development for over a year. We are the coordinating agency for a coalition of Jewish ministries working together on this
exciting and creative evangelistic project that could have a huge impact on sharing Yeshua with Jewish people worldwide.
Messiah Comes is a project that can be used by the full spectrum of
believers from experienced Jewish evangelists to Gentile believers who know virtually nothing of Jewish culture. It is most heartening that gifted Jewish believers from across the spectrum of the Messianic Movement are
coming together to make this project happen.
The single prayer request of the Home Office for this edition of the Ariel Prayer Band is to ask you to pray for the effective and dynamic use of Messiah Comes in the years ahead for the cause of Jewish evangelism.
Watch our website and other publications in the months ahead to find out how you can get involved in introducing Yeshua to the Jewish people God has placed in your life.

I had read that on Drudge. it's our own fault. look what our idiot president has given as gifts. tacky in the extreme and giving the bust of Churchill back-how rude
Jim C.,
Thanks for getting back and explaining your error on "died for all."
I was almost positive that you were mistaken.
Your apology was most gracious.
I would like to state that I do not agree with the Frucht on every issue either. At least on what I've read and listened to. But his batting average is very high with me so far. And, I'd like to add that some of the things have to do with my just not seeing it the way he does. I'm not saying that he is wrong and I'm right, because in the end, he most likely will be proven right and me wrong.
One area that comes to my mind at the moment is his stating that he believes that some people were indwelt with the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. I don't see it. So that will still remain a ? mark with me for now.
I've been a Berean as long as I remember. That's how I was taught to study scripture. I have a lot of pastors, scholars that I dearly love to hear teach and many that I nearly agree with 100%. Me and my siblings were encouraged to do our own commentaries on each book of the Bible as soon as we could write. I was blessed to have some great role models in my family on both sides. Sometimes when I would get stuck on a scripture, I'd call my Grandmother, but she wouldn't just give me the answer, she asked me questions until I came up with the answer myself. Sometimes, she would suggest I go and read a particular chapter of a particular book, pointing me in the right direction, but making me do the work. My Father was the same way, I guess that's because that is the way he learned the scriptures and to think it out for himself. He was great leading our family devotions and each member contributed to the study. I feel very blessed. I taught my children the same way.
I certainly do not have all my questions answered. I have a binder filled with questions that remain a mystery to me. But the Holy Spirit is faithful and I have more answered than the ones that remain unanswered. Praise the LORD!
And, I'd just love it, if we get called home before I get all of them answered.
Thank you for your gentleness.
In Christ,
Avi L.
Jim G.,
I'm sorry, I just noticed that I addressed my last comment to Jim C.
Sorry,
Avi L.
Jib,
I hate to report that I haven't finished the study yet. I did listen to it straight through and then started to listen to it a second time with a printed PDF to make notes when I needed to. Thank goodness for pause buttons. But so far I am greatly impressed.
I don't think if I was asked to list all of them, that I would have been able to get close to all 33.
But, I got a call and several emails from friends who asked me to help find a commentary on John 14:12 for a friend of theirs who has been asked to do a presentation of this verse. So, I've put everything on hold while I worked on locating some. I haven't done very good. I've given most of my commentaries to the church library.
Currently, I've got 7 pastors checking their library of commentaries for me and I've gone to the archives of some of my favorite pastors sermons on line and have been listening. So far, all I've obtained is some "guesses."
I did find a Patrick Henry commentary for that verse, but David has that commentary already.
Another friend is going through all the sermon titles for Sturgeon to see what he can find.
Well, I better get back to work.
In Christ,
Avi L.
Avi
blueletterbible.org sometimes has commentaries on things like this. you could check at any rate. I also could not have come up with that many things. I also must admit that when I don't agree with Frucht it's because I don't quite see it like he does and you are likely more than correct that we shall likely find he was right and we were wrong.
Avi, how wonderful to read your post...about your grandmother, father and children all believers and bereans! Wow!!
Praise God!!
These may help, Avi.
Commentaries
Notes on John
Avi,
Thanks for the kind and encouraging words.
Regarding John 14:12, I have a few thoughts and observations. For ease of reference, I'll paste the verse and surrounding Scriptures here:
9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Blue Letter Bible Lexicon has the following info on the word translated "name" in verse 14:
1) name: univ. of proper names
2) the name is used for everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering, the name, i.e. for one's rank, authority, interests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds etc.
3) persons reckoned up by name
4) the cause or reason named: on this account, because he suffers as a Christian, for this reason
So, could it be that what He is saying is that as long as we ask anything for the cause of Christ and in His authority, He will do it?
Just as Christ abided in the Father and the Father abided in Christ, we are to abide in Christ and Him in us through continual and active faith. It is a willful yielding to Him. We choose to surrender. We choose to obey. We choose to follow. All in response to His Holy Spirit drawing us to Him and empowering us to abide in Him.
I think somehow this also relates to the promise of the Father, that the Son told his disciples to wait for in Jerusalem. That is of course the Holy Spirit.
Another thought (I'm not sure if it is consistent with the original Greek) is that perhaps the Lord was talking about the Church, His Body as a whole will do greater things than He did. The Lexicon does not isolate the pronoun "he" so I can't tell for sure if it has to refer to singular individuals as opposed to the corporate Body of Christ.
Great resource links Mac! Thanks for sharing.
NASB Committe Member turns KJV, denounces NASBFrank Logsdon: I’m afraid I’m in trouble with the Lord.
Hmmm...and the NASB is my favourite version.
Actually I like using the E-sword comparisons along with the interlinear. If my FDW lets me, I just may invest in Logos.
BTW, there is an Aussie paraphrase version. Strewth!
The commentary below was in response to a question about Job at the OL. The male responder has a series of debilitating ailments that I won't go into. Suffice to say that he's in constant daily pain.
************
Job was an example to everyone in his life... and unto every believer to this very day.
There are many reasons... and countless studies on the subject... but I'd like to share my perception with you, because Job's example has literally kept me alive for the last 25 years... and has taught me the meaning of true faith.
You see... anyone can nurture their faith when times are good. There are plenty of happy go lucky Christians. But when the trials and tribulations come into our lives... people begin to wonder "Where is God in all of this?"
Job's message to us is that TRUE faith endures "No_Matter_What." And I am of the opinion that you cannot learn to fully trust any other way. It's kind of like life's lessons on compassion. Everyone thinks they have compassion... until their suffering begins... then they learn the true meaning of compassion. It's a real eye opener when the trials begin... but sometimes it continues on like the energizer bunny. That's how you get the "Been there... done that!" kind of compassion.
Job's example might have something to do with the concept of purifying gold via a forging furnace. (But poor old Job's contemporaries weren't of the same caliber as Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego! Yet they were likely encouraged by Job's steadfast example of faith... the "no_matter_what" kind of faith. Funny how that goes.)
I hope this reply made some sort of sense to you. No excuse, but I've been a bit preoccupied lately and find it extremely difficult to focus. Today's entertainment is a full featured headache. And as usual it's a rerun. For some reason it seems to be running in a continuous loop because evidently I'm missing some of the plotline. But Job... that poor guy... he really had it bad!
Before the GRACE of God go I.
Oh yeah, while I remember, Pilate DIDN'T ask, "What is strewth?"
Hyde, great commentary. Do you mind if I copy to send to a few people I know who are suffering right now?
David WIlkerson's, post today pertains to our discussion.
A tidbit:
"What does it all mean when prayers go unanswered? When hurts linger and God seems to be doing nothing in response to our faith? Often God is loving us more supremely at that time than ever before. The Word says, "Whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth." A chastening of love takes precedence over every act of faith, over every prayer, over every promise."
Moriel Ministries Newsletter March 2010 There are a bunch of great articles in this one.
...and check this out:Jesus Obama Gag me!!!!!
Anne
I'm sure you didn't mean to imply that all suffering and sickness is as a result of sin and God is using it to chasten us? While there is no doubt that is true I really don't think all sickness is due to some unconfessed sin or that God is allowing us to be ill because we need to be chastened. I think God allows illness to refine our faith but I don't consider that chastening
Anne, you might find my sermon on Ezekiel 24 a comfort. It is just in video format, not notes.
One of the saddest chapters in the Bible. Also, one of the most difficult to reconcile with a loving God.
Why did God kill Ezekiel's wife? Why does God allow, or cause innocent people to die and suffer pain? Does he not care? These are some of the questions that arise out of this passage.
In the end, we must deal with the sovereignty of God, and also decide if there is something more important.
It was very significant for our church because a number of years ago, the pastor here lost his wife and two young kids in a car crash. Some have never gotten over that.
Wayne
No, Jib, I didn't mean that and I'm sure Wilkerson didn't either. In fact, I've been a bit preoccupied today and have forgotten what we were talking about and why I thought Wilkerson's post was relelvant! Maybe I'll have a chance later to look back? :)

What is Streweth? I love my Logos computer program and it is well worth the money. I got mine when things were a little brighter and things were perking right along for hubby and I. But you know what? I have used it more in the last year than ever before. I have also learned more about leaning and trusting than ever before and I thought I knew all there was to know. My life has not been a bed of tulips but lots of thorny roses. They smell good, are beautiful but they can bring great pain if not handled correctly. Kinda like life but mostly about faith and trusting in God.
I am still learning the lessons of life everyday and so will you if you are serving God. Probably a great many who are not Believers are doing the same thing and will continue as long as they live. But the quality of life isn't set by society, politics, or bank accounts. It matters where your focus is and when we get too high and mighty we open the door for trouble and heartbreak.
I don't believe God is the author of evil but just like He told us in HIS word, He loved us so much that he sent His only son to be born, come to maturity and then pay the price for our sin nature by being sacrificed on a cruel wooden cross. WHY? So HE can have fellowship with us. That is what he created us for in the first place.
Know HIM or of him? Does His name make your heart stir and your only desire is to love him beyond anything or anyone? Well, that is how much He loves you and me.

continue to pray for Michele. She is now on a ventilator with pneumonia in addition to the ruptured aneurysm in her head. She is failing daily by inches. I had the thought on Sunday after one email from her husband John that she would be spending Easter with Christ. Maybe maybe not. Certainly from a medical perspective, although this is third hand so to speak, I don't hold out much hope for her due to her frailty, malnutrtion, recent radiation etc. Short of divine intervention while she might not die by Easter I don't look for her to survive.

Wayne, I agree with Mac! I am listening to one of your sermons now and I love it! Wow!
MAC,
Logos Gold 3 but I would love to update to 4. By the way, Dr. Fruchtenbaum has published his Messianic Collection for Logos. HERE IS THE PAGE that you can see the ordering info. That is the next one I want but when I looked it all over, I think I have most of it already. Back in 2007 I was treated to the full bible study from him. But it is all on disc and I would like to have it as a program supplement for Logos.
There are so many added features with the 4 edition and it seems they have simplified it alot. By the way, Thompson Chain Reference Bible group also has a great computer program and it seems like they have Logos capable format.
WAYNE,
Still waiting for my reply from Siloam Springs. It just might become an excuse to drive up there with dear hubby. We both love the little town atmosphere there and the people are all very nice.
I am planning on linking into your sermon after I get back from paying bills. I know I will enjoy it because I have enjoyed your other ones in the past. I agree with Hydy ho, you are anointed my friend but then, we already knew that.

A happy Easter to all.
From Dr Frucht's BIO
One word "Wow!"
Among leaders of one of these divisions (known as Gerer Chasidim) was the Fruchtenbaum family. My grandfather and his father, and so on, were among the leaders of this group. My grandfather, to become a leader , underwent rigorous training. By the time he was 13 my grandfather had memorized the first five books of Moses in Hebrew. At the age of 18 he had memorized the entire Old Testament. By the age 21 he had the ability to know where every word belonged on a Hebrew page of the Bible. If a man picked a place on the Hebrew Bible my grandfather would be able to recite from memory, every word underneath the finger in correct page by page order. Such was the level of Scripture memory required of everyone in that little group, because the Scripture served merely as a base of study.
I wrote a new post this morning if anyone is interested. Just click on my blue name.
The site is fixed now... thanks for your patience.

Shalom, all. I want to share this video of The Miracle Prayer. It's lead by Fr.Peter Mary Rookey, a 93-year-old healing priest, who gave his life to God after a miraculous cure from blindness.
To quote from the video's description:
The Miracle Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come before you just as I am. I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In your name I forgive all others for what they have done against me.
I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works. I give you my entire self, Lord Jesus now and forever. I invite you into my life, Jesus. I accept you as my Lord, God and Saviour. Heal me, change me, strengthen me in body, soul, and spirit.
Come, Lord Jesus, cover me with your precious blood, and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I Love You, Lord Jesus. I Praise You, Jesus. I Thank You, Jesus. I shall follow you every day of my life. Amen.
Say this prayer faithfully, no matter what you feel, when you come to the point where you sincerely mean each word, with all your heart, something good spiritually will happen to you. You will experience Jesus, and HE will change your whole life in a very special way. You will see.

Dateline: Jerusalem, 15 Nisan
Jerusalem is crowded once again with people celebrating the Passover, the holiest day in Judaism. Yesterday the city buzzed with preparations for the Passover Seders of roasted lamb, bitter herbs, and the Jewish flatbread called matzo, prepared in accordance with traditions dating back centuries. The meals were to be celebrated with family members and shared with those who do not have enough family members to consume an entire lamb.
The preparations continued under the watchful eyes of the local Roman garrison, who were prepared to handle any disturbances. Tensions have been higher than in previous Passovers, partly due to the arrival of a charismatic rabbi, Yeshua ben Yosef. Ben Yosef has made a name for himself with his powerful sermons, simple lessons, and his "learned discourse" according to a Temple scribe who declined to be identified. In addition, there have been reports of healings and miracles being performed by ben Yosef, ranging from curing a group of lepers, to feeding thousands of people with a few loaves of bread and some fish, and include two different reports of his raising people from the dead, including a friend of his who had been buried for over 2 days. These reported miracles have lead some to accuse ben Yosef of being a simple magician or of being in league with the Evil One, a charge vehemently denied by his followers.
The arrival of ben Yosef and his followers caused some confusion, as it occurred just as the sacrificial lambs were being driven into town from Bethlehem, a town a short distance away which produces the majority of lambs that have been ruled "kosher" or fit for sacrifice. A spokesman for ben Yosef stated that he was planning on quietly celebrating the Passover with his closest friends and his mother, who is his surviving parent. This is in marked contrast to his arrival in the city earlier this week. At that time, he rode into town on the foal of a donkey, with people waving palm branches, laying their cloaks in front of the procession, and shouting "Hosanna!"
Certain scholars (who did not want to go on record or comment publicly) noted that the date of ben Yosef's arrival matched the date that King David left Jerusalem during the time of his son's revolt, and that riding in "on the foal of a donkey" was the sign of a king who was coming in peace rather than as a conqueror. This arrival prompted some in the crowd to hail him as "Yeshua ben David," or the descendant of David coming to Jerusalem to reclaim the throne. Although spokespeople have consistently denied that this is a goal of ben Yosef, the presence in Jerusalem of so many people prepared to proclaim him as such has drawn the attention of the local Roman Procurator, Pontius Pilate. A spokesman for the Procurator's office, without naming ben Yosef specifically, stated that "given the history of revolts and rebellious acts in previous years, the guardians of Roman peace and power will be ready to execute swift justice upon any and all who would jeopardize the peaceful and productive relationship that has existed between Israel and Rome for a generation." The spokesman declined to comment on the arrest, on suspicion of murder, of a local Zealot known only as "bar Abbas" and would neither confirm nor deny that the arrest was related to the arrival of ben Yosef in Jerusalem.
UPDATE:
At press time it was learned that ben Yosef has been arrested by Temple Police. The arrest took place in the Garden of Olives, where ben Yosef has previously spent time in prayer and in teaching. There are conflicting reports over whether or not violence occurred during the arrest, where some are reporting that the arrest was peaceful, others are saying that one of the followers of ben Yosef attacked a servant of the High Priest, while still others are saying that while the servant was injured in an attack, he was healed by a touch from ben Yosef. It has been confirmed at this time that only ben Yosef was arrested, and that he has been taken before the Sanhedrin to answer questions about what he has said and taught.
More details will follow as they become available.

MAC,
Oh, I copied that about our beloved Dr. Frucht to my hard drive. WOW is right. You and I can love the Lord with all of our heart, mind and soul and our neighbors as ourself but when I consider all that the Jewish person gives up just to become a Believer, oh my, my heart gets too full.
I heard a sermon about the passage in the bible that talks about our tears being wiped away in heaven and it was so different. I always took it to mean my tears would be wiped away and I couldn't quite understand it. There are no tears in heaven so what were these.
Well, this pastor taught that the tears are not ours but Jesus Christ' and it is because of all the ones he will have to turn away when he tells them "I never knew you, depart from me".
Has anyone else heard the sermon or have you any take on the accuracy of his interpretation?
Also, didn't have any problems getting on today.

Do you mean Ayatollah Khamenei being in critical condition?
Is there a prophecy regarding this? I don't seem to recall anything about that...
I may have shared this before.
When I was a child, I always was so thankful that Jesus paid the price for my sins. In fact, I understood that part of the gospel message so well (his death on the cross for us) that I was somewhat perplexed about why the resurrection was so important. Why couldn't he just be with God the Father in heaven after he died?
Then, when I was a young adult, it occurred to me.
Good Friday is when our debts were paid. We may not "owe" anything for our sins because we've been forgiven but that's not enough.
Resurrection Day is when we hit the jackpot. Not only are we forgiven but we get to be partakers in His Life!
It's like going from being in debt prior to the cross, to having all our debts wiped clean on Good Friday, to beoming heirs of a FORTUNE on resurrection Sunday!
Don't mean to be crass and make it about money but I think the economic picture helped me to really grasp the whole thing more fully!
Have a Good Friday everyone! Your debts are paid!
Good thoughts today!
When I was a child I couldn't connect Good Friday to the death of Jesus either. What was so good about someone killing Jesus? It took a while for it to sink in but JIM G. I like your take on it.
I add my prayers to all of yours for the country of Iran and that God's glory break out in full display for the world to see.
Shalom
Were you there?
We had the same vocal coach back in the 80's... Larnell had actually messed up his vocal chords. He had to undergo silent therapy to help it heal. Of course, I don't sing nearly as well as Larnell and he is 100x's more successful in his music career.
His voice is so powerful it's like harnessing a powerful explosion in a hand-held lighter!
one of my favorite songs is More than Majesty which he sang with Sandi Patti

Todd Bentley's three woundes-Prophetic Dream, by Chris
Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”
I saw in a dream a young man wounded who goes by the name of Todd Bentley. He had been warned over and over of his deception in the past and present yet the warnings had went unheard and ignored. In the dream this man was wounded three times. For whatever reason I found myself carrying his bloody body in my arms to a hospital, but, the hospital was not what it appeared or seemed to be, for the hospital that Todd directed me to go to was a media center. I know, weird right? But I’ll explain later.
Todd layed in a bed dying. Three wounds he suffered were from gun shots, one wound caused blindness, the other caused deafness while the third more serious wound caused death itself. Let the reader know that these are SPIRITUAL WOUNDS. I tried to talk with him but he was full of anger and hatred at anyone, but especially me. He kept hitting his ear as if trying to desperately gain back his hearing, he shouted and cursed at me, so, I placed my hand upon his ear and called for hearing to return and it did, he was made whole in his ear.
He then turned to me, although still blind, he could now hear me, which made him even more angrier.I suspect that his anger was not so much at me, but what I represent – holiness and truth but he was more angrier because I was a prophet, a REAL prophet of God, which he hated and een told me. He asked me what did I want, and I told him that I was sorry that he was wounded, but that God had brought judgement in his life and that he needed to REPENT and to seek forgiveness for all of the deception he had caused.
Todd then became full of rage, he began to rant in a strange unknown tongue, and it was NOT of God, I then told the demon within him to silence itself, and it did, but he smirked and giggled and laughed, but the hatred still remained toward me. Todd then took this strange looking liquid, an IV of sorts and placed it in his vein, it was NOT anything from the hospital, but something else, it was evil, all I can tell the reader of this note is that this liquid was dark and moving into his veins. Todd’s eyes, although still very much blind, for his eyesight was not returned, became bright red with rage and hate toward me. I then pleaded with him to repent to allow God into his life, but to no avail. The demonic spirit came forth again and rebuked me, cursing me once more, this time I did not stand in its way to claim that which was rightly his.
I then began to leave the small area he was at, when Todd demanded that someone would help him up, but not me, anyone but me. Then, I saw two young women, very much attractive and very much sympathetic to Todd and they lifted him up, in his stooper and he demanded to be taken to a place so ALL could hear him. He cursed me and cursed my prophetic role. The hospital was in fact a media center and as Todd took hold of the mic and tv cameras, it seemed as though this would be his final stand. In the dream I saw his end, dying from his condition and eternally lost.
cont...
I walked out of that place I and he was in to cries of hatred of those that supported him, people called me to go back in and take care of him, raise him from the dead but I told them that he was to pay the price for his deception and that he was overcome by demonic forces and that I had no obligation to further deal with him and that in all, he was now gone from this world.
The interpretation: I believe Todd is about to face judgement. He has been wounded; he is blind (spiritually) and he is deaf (spiritually) but that deafness will be removed to allow him to hear the GOSPEL one last time but I believe he will refuse to repent. For his refusal to repent of his deception, God shall bring forth judgement to this man which will cost him either his life or his life in ministry. His recent return to ministry shall be a short one for God will bring this man to judgement for all to see and many will be angry for his removal. But judgement IS coming.
This is the dream I was given of this man on Monday February 22, 2010.
Lisa,
who is Chris? Whatever the end result, I wouldn't want to be in Todd Bentley's shoes no matter what. To have someone pronounce that word over another is very serious stuff. Whether a true prophet or someone speaking out of past disputes between the two, it is a very serious thing to do.
Need to pray for Chris and Todd.
Good night everyone.

Hey All, it's been a while since I posted and didn't just lurk.
Well, first a personal update. I'm now in Colorado but the family is still in Tx until June. That's a bit hard, but I have lots of time to catch up on my reading. The new job is great, I get to take care of the elderly people that have financial challenges, btw, that's most of them. Due to the move and job change, finances have been VERY tight, but relief is close. I'm sure Jim understands intimately what a faith builder that is. I don't have space for a full testimony/report, but let me share a couple ways the Lord has worked.
Well before I left TX, a dear older pt and friend spontaneously gave me a good bit of money in a goodbye card. I wasn't going to accept it, but then she said, "the Holy Spirit told me to do this", well, what do you say to that, so I took it gratefully. She went on to explain that for years she had been listening to Him in giving to organizations and people in various ways and every time He provided for a need and blessed her corporation more later for her faith. Sure enough, within 2 weeks of her gift, I found a true need for it. Wow!
Second. I had the kids and Jenny in my truck (2wd) towing a 6000 trailer over the mountain range into Ratton pass in NM and it starts snowing harder and harder. We were still 80 miles from our hotel but 150 miles from a real town behind us. Up and up we went and before you know it we were at 8900 ft and in 6-8 in. of snow on the road, in a blizzard. I woke up Jenny and the older kids and we all started praying. Up and over we went without snow tires, chains and towing! FYI, this should have been impossible, and whenever I couldn't see in the blizzard we'd pray again and it would completely clear for a few minutes. God's power is amazing
There are more ways I've seen Him work but I'll type the rest later.
Don't forget we are in spiritual battle royal, armor up.
In His Grip,
Scott
There is an article I am linking to telling about Federal Reserves woes regarding the bailout. BLOOMBERG REPORTS the mess but I think the fallout is going to be a good time to invest in some stock of Bristol-Myers.
Otherwise, aren't you joyful beyond anything available to the world that Jesus was already out of that tomb by this time (Israel time)over 2 thousand years ago and he still isn't in it.
Oh, Happy Day'; Oh, happy day, when Jesus washed my sins away."

Shoebat emailed this out today- I'll only include a couple paragraphs- Huh? Muslim & Amish?
Anyone heard about this?
Friends,
"Since President Obama has enacted the healthcare legislation there are two ways out from abiding by the law and those are 1. Declare you are a Muslim or 2. Declare you are Amish. Since Amish people are Christian that will be your best option. Please go and buy your horse and buggy, men grow your little beard; Ladies get your wimple and declare you are Amish on your census form. If you become a Muslim or Amish your health care remains intact and you are not subject to penalties and taxes that will be directed to the rest of us Americans.
The above “legal” exemptions are another unconstitutional section of the bill as the United States now discriminates against people when it comes to religion. This must be unconstitutional and breaches the first amendment. This is the first time this has happened in the history of the USA."
Happy Resurection Day to all of you. Praise the Lord Jesus! Thank you Lord that we have a way to you now and forever and that our sins are taken away, we are made white as snow!
Bless you all today :)

an original poem for Resurrection Sunday
Behold the man.
The first Adam.
Created in the image of God for companionship.
Created in perfection for the purpose of worshiping God.
See in the garden, he makes a decision, and falls into temptation.
In this garden sin, death, and despair enter into the world.
He is now afraid, spiritually dead.
Physical death in the future follows.
All who come after are tainted as well.
But a promise is given.
Behold The Man.
The last Adam.
Eternal God taking on flesh, come to earth to dwell.
Willing to suffer humiliation.
Born to die.
See His sinless life
The Lamb of God who will remove the stain of sin from us all.
Beaten for us, by His stripes we are healed.
He prays in a garden, submitting to God’s will.
He is stripped naked, crucified for all to see.
He bears God’s wrath in our place.
Laid in a borrowed tomb in a private garden
In this garden death is conquered.
O death where is thy sting and grave where is thy victory?
Life and hope enter the world in this garden.
A promise kept.
Two thousand years ago Pilate proclaimed-Behold The Man.
That call rings down through the ages today.
What will you do in this here and now?
With this Man Jesus, The Christ, The Way.

What a wonderful confirmation of Jesus resurrection- we had a 7.2 Earthquake this afternoon @ 3:40 p.m.
YOW!!!
Everyone was in the family room as I was gathering up some things & I heard this deep rumbling sound over the Irish music the kids were listening to. I walked into where everyone was sitting & heard a deep loud sound like a helicopter landed on the roof of our house-then felt the shaking, the windows rattling, and the chandelier swaying. (And it was really swinging side to side.)
The unsaved male family member was out the door & standing outside before the girls & I thought it was safe to venture out. (So much for women & children 1st!) D.H. was of course- totally unfazed as usual. I'm surprised he even moved off the couch except that everyone left him to go outside. LOL!
He did look @ me and say- "Well I don't think it's going to be 10 years (before the 2nd Coming) it's looking more like 5!)
Really though I'm not the least bit surprised. I kept mentioning that after the 2 fires, tornado misses & the flood that the earthquake was next. And was I really joking? no. Look what is happening around the world- People get ready-Jesus is coming soon! We certainly won't be left out of the mix in the U.S.
I'm just trying to prepare the eldest for what may be going on in her lifetime. She'll be nine soon & these life events do have an impact. She's freaked out about the EQ now. The 5yr old really doesn't have any fear factor as she was far more concerned about being hungry @ the time.
These kids have been through more natural elements/disasters in their short little life spans than I have in my 40yrs of life.
Praise God that was no one was hurt & there is no apparent damage.
But......the next one could be worse.
On a good note- just @ the Easter service we attended this morning there were at least 50 people who came down to the altar call. More bothers & sisters in Christ! Yippee!
Oh yeah- & Pastor Ray mentioned (which I agree with) that such as the earthquake in Haiti- he sees it not as God punishing a people but shaking them up so that they will finally turn to Him.
There have been so many missionaries going to Haiti over the years w/o a great deal of results & then this event happens & a revival breaks out.
So hang on - these events will call out the sheep before God's wrath falls upon the earth.
Isaiah 54:10 "For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken," Says the LORD who has compassion on you.
Hebrews 12:26-13:3 Then
God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: "Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also."
This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.For our God is a devouring fire.
Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!.."
Just had another aftershock.
Oh Joy! Nothing like putting one on 'full alert' mode.
I don't actually "feel" anything but I hear the wood studs move & make a cracking sound.
what shook Lisa also shook our town 300 miles away! we didn't feel it but several people in our community that we are facebook friends with said it woke them from naps due to beds moving, chandeliers shook, pool water moved, blinds danced etc! wow. we were about an hour away so we missed out. the odd thing is , there is a HUGE fault line that runs through town supposedly every bit as dangerous as the San Andreas although not as long. interesting

Wow! I just went on Catholic Answers Forum and found this message:
Good Morning, Everyone! Happy Easter Monday!
Looking at the USGS website (or SpiritDaily.com and scroll down to 3rd from top in middle column=Earthquake Bulletin)
---California has a whole lotta shakin' going on. I mean, I have never seen so many in a day ~as today~, and it's about half over!
To the best of (our) figuring, the big earthquake hit around 3:40pm-California time. (Is that right?)

Yesterday (the same day as the 7.2)---Easter Sunday---A blasphemous! play titled "Corpus Christi" was performed in the Area of Santa Ana, California-just Southeast of LA toward San Diego-at 7 pm:
Corpus Christi includes a Christ-like figure who has homosexual relations with his apostles! Besides, the play uses Gospel passages in a contrived way. The New York Post, for example, reported:
‘“Art Thou King of the queers?’ McNally’s Pontius Pilate character asks. ‘Thou sayest,’ Joshua answers.”...
(My guess is, they'll never put it together) Oh no!
Aftershocks would've hit during...they haven't stopped!
I heard a report (as I passed through a room) that this is not the Saint Andreas Fault, it is south of it-but could affect the Saint Andreas...
"Be ready..." was stated recently, in a large but unapproved purported Apparition. This is always good advice (we know)...
Have a Blessed day. I mare-watched last night, I need to sleep. I'll check back.
God Bless.
+Peace Be With You.
Love, Dawn
BTW, the "large but unapproved purported Apparition" she mentions is taking place in Brazil. The messages from this purported apparition have been very accurate -- one message mentioned the Haiti earthquake about a month before it happened, for example. The accuracy does not prove that the apparition is valid. It is a mark in the "plus" column, but the messages must be viewed as a whole and carefully discerned. If anyone is interested I'll post the URL to the web site.

On the back picture it shows small pictures w/the headings of : "Environment, Moral Decay, Technology, Global Religion, Israel". Anyway you can purchase them @ Eternal Productions if interested.
Jim C., I have a sneaking suspicion that the demonic apparitions know who the true prophets of God are as they have also been warning of these quakes before they occur.(Dreams/visions, etc..) All they have to do is copy w/the true prophets are saying as if they are an original source w/the prophetic knowledge.
Anyway- sure I'd like to view the Brazil apparition clips.
I forgot about the Locust- should I freeze dry them to eat @ a later time?
hmmm, keep your weather over there please.
sorry the kids are freaked out.
a couple of things struck me while listening to the life of the Jewish Messiah yesterday but only one of which can I remember-the saints will not necessarily have all their needs met during times of persecution as there have been saints who have died of exposure and want. interesting to contemplate.
LISA & JIB
Thought of you two along with my daughter when news of the EQ came on. Really cannot explain my emotions right at this time regarding all of what is happening but I do feel God's hand in all of this.
There have been many Believers speaking of hearing their pastors and other bible teachers being completely out of character. They were warning about a major move or shaking that God is going to allow very soon. As I said, it wasn't coming from the usual sources of prophecy either.
But I still don't want anyone that I know of being hurt by any such move of God. When my daughter and son-in-law moved to Arizona I had this really sorrowing going on in my heart and soul. I didn't understand it and I dreaded their leaving. I thought at first it was because they would be so far away from me and I wouldn't get to see them often. So, I prayed that the fear and grief would leave so I wouldn't be strung out over it. But when the earthquake was announced Sunday, even my D.H. was alarmed and wondered if that was what I was fearing instead.
I refuse to allow fear dominate and ruin our life but I am praying for His Grace and Mercy to cover all of you and my daughter + son-in-law. As I watched the video of the quake on the internet, I couldn't help but laugh at the people in the shop running out of there but not until the shaking had stopped. Hearing all of the glass breaking would have sent me scurrying for the door immediately. I have to start immediately because I don't move as fast as I used to.
You all have a safe and glorious week, shake free!
Grany
Lisa;
I think thus may be a web site on the apparition here.
It looks like it has been going on for some time. After reading a good number of them, it seems there is a "blanket" list of warnings covering many countries and regions.
Maranatha!
Good to see you're all safe after the shaking. I was just saying to my mother, "I wonder when and where the next earthquake is coming..." And maybe I should have kept my mouth shut!
With all the significant EQ's in the news the last few years (and many in rescent months) I am not sure why supposed people in the know keep saying there is no increase in EQ's.
Are they deliberately trying to calm fears or hide what most others are seeing. Can the data be interpreted in such a way as to show another result, or am I not getting the whole picture. Anyone know the answer?? That seems to be one sign that Jesus gave that cannot be misinterpreted.
Maranatha!
Grany,
What we're taught to do here is ,drop (under a sturdy object/table),cover (roll into a ball) & hold (onto the object so that you move w/it as it shakes across the floor!)
If your in bed-hold on & stay there while you cover your head w/a pillow.
They always tell you not to run outside because something can fall on you as you go to exit or when you're outside-trees/ electrical wires/autos, ect.. could get you.
I stayed inside w/the girls in an interior doorway frame (away from glass & tall furniture) & when the shaking calmed down headed outside. Now I read that's an old fashioned (shows my age) idea & that the doorway frame is no safer than any other part of the house & under a table is best.
Friends of mine have two boys- 9 & 11 and one girl 5. My friend was swinging in her hammock outside when it hit. She ran inside as her husband pushed their daughter under a wood table. Her two boys had both ducked under "glass" tables.
Mac
if you ever move to the states I would note that Ohio is at high risk due to the new madrid fault so I'd watch those comments of yours :-)
oh and Jim C-loved the news flash stuff
thanks Grany
Lisa,
I wouldn't want to trust any of my tables to protect me in an earthquake. My dining room table is 100% glass and not tempered either. Then the coffee table is heavy wood but not enough room under it for both of us. OK, DH where are you going to seek shelter sort of thing. Any our lunch table is solid maple with gatelegs and those legs can kill you even when there isn't an EQ.
So, I will stay in Okieland and plead the blood. Maybe that is what you need to do too, if you haven't already done so.
But I think the hammock would be my pick and attached to young trees. Hanging onto something that is going to shake across the floor sounds like a return to the twist or better still, the jitterbug!
I am just going to keep praying for all of us that whatever way we go through this time, it will give great glory to Abba and Jesus Christ.
I am turning in early tonight so I can get a crack of dawn tomorrow. It is beginning to get very warm in the after lunch period of the day so early to bed and early to rise.
Grany
I'm glad you are all fine, Lisa...it must have been scarey.
We do know these things will increase.
All we can do is put our trust in our sovereign God and Son and Holy Spirit and 'offer ourselves up as a living sacrifice' for Him to use as He pleases.
Lisa, the web site GT linked to is a blog dedicated to the apparition; you can find the messages from the original web site at http://pedroregis.com/mensagens_ing.php. The original site is in Portuguese, I've linked to the official English translation. Here is a link to a (mostly) English translation of the web site, including a history of the apparitions. The local bishop is taking this case carefully, "with discernment", and there won't be any official pronouncement until the apparitions cease.
I haven't taken the time to read any but the most recent messages. I'm inclined to view them favorably because demons can't utter the name of Jesus, bless His name, or give the Trinitarian blessing ("In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.") There are ways around that, but they involve a human agency, not a demonic one.
As for locust, they're better fresh, although I know some people who swear by deep-frying with some cayenne or cumin sprinkled on them. (Don't forget: locust are kosher.)
<><
Grany, a door frame is your best bet, rather than a table (unless you're REALLY sure about the table!) I loved watching the swimming pools in LA go swish, swish, swish!
Glad you liked the news flash! I'll go ahead and post the second one I wrote.

JERUSALEM, 18 NISAN
A report circulating through parts of the city this morning that the tomb of Yeshua ben Yosef, called by some "Yeshua ben David" or simply "The Nazorean", was found empty shortly after sunrise. Ben Yosef was crucified by the Romans just three days ago after a brief trial by the Sanhedrin. There are conflicting reports as to the reason for his crucifixion. Temple officials say that he was crucified by the Romans because of reports that ben Yosef claimed to be a king and thus was a competitor to Ceasar. The Procurator's office, on the other hand, said that the execution took place at the request of Temple officials, who accused ben Yousef of blasphemy. Both Temple officials and the Procurator's office confirmed that ben Yosef had died shortly after the crucifixion, and that his body had been removed and buried before sunset on Passover.
The Roman Procurator and the leading religious officials of the Holy Temple released a statement condemning the rumor of the empty tomb and calling on the populace to stop spreading such stories. While the Temple spokesperson refused to confirm or deny the rumor, he did confirm that some members of the Temple guard were being disciplined for sleeping while on watch, although the spokesperson said this was a matter unrelated to the rumored empty tomb. A ranking member of the Sanhedrin, speaking anonymously because he was not authorized to speak to the press, noted that if in fact the tomb was empty, it was likely that ben Yousef's body had been stolen by his followers. This same member also called on the population of Jerusalem not to spread "baseless rumors," and to remain calm in the light of potential action by the Roman garrison.
Attempts to contact members of the Nazorean's "inner circle" to clarify the situation were unsuccessful. There are reports the members have gone into hiding; however, some witnesses have reported seeing some of the members running to and from the tomb, appearing happy or dazed. Others have reported seeing the Nazorean alive in different parts of Jerusalem, despite the official reports that he died during crucifixion. At press time, one report reached Jerusalem that two of his followers met the Nazorean while traveling to Emmaus; however, this report cannot be confirmed and the witnesses are considered unreliable, due to their previous relationship with the Nazorean.
Further details will be released as they become available.

GT,
Here’s a USGS web page that has some Earthquake Facts and Statistics.
I grew up in San Jose, CA and have felt quite a few earthquakes in my life. The biggest one I ever experienced was the October 17, 1989, Loma Prieta, California, earthquake. I was probably about 15 miles from the epicenter but was in a relatively new building which held up well.
Anyway, all that to say that I think quakes of 5.0 and stronger are the ones that make the news most. Depending upon the infrastructure of course, quakes of smaller magnitudes usually don’t do much damage in my opinion.
So, I took the data on all quakes worldwide since 2000 with magnitude 5.0 or greater. Here’s what it looks like. We are almost exactly 25% through 2010 so I have extrapolated out the 2010 data assuming that the rest of this year looks similar to the first quarter.
2000 – 1505
2001 – 1361
2002 – 1341
2003 – 1358
2004 – 1672
2005 – 1844
2006 – 1865
2007 – 2270
2008 – 1948
2009 – 1884
2010 – 712*4= 2848
The average number of earthquakes per year with magnitude 5.0 or greater for the years 2007, 2008, and 2009 = 2034. So, if we end up with 2848 this year, that will equate (or should I say “earthquate”) to a 40% increase over the average for the previous three years.
The average number (5.0 and greater) per year for the years 2000 thru 2009 is 1704.8.
So, if we reach 2848 in 2010, that will be a 67% increase over the average for the previous 10 year period.

"I'm inclined to view them favorably because demons can't utter the name of Jesus, bless His name, or give the Trinitarian blessing ("In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.") There are ways around that, but they involve a human agency, not a demonic one."
Humm, I'm not so sure about that. I just read a book called "Blood on the Doorposts, An Advanced Course in Spiritual Warfare", and as ex-Satanists now Born Again Christians in the deliverance ministry- the only thing they say demons can't utter is that "Jesus is God in Flesh".
So- I'll keep checking around about that one since it's quite telling if so & interesting to know what they can or can not say.
Interesting that they can't say "Jesus is God in the flesh."
I work with two JWs. One mentioned the other day that they were having a memorial service to commemorate Jesus's death on the cross. I said don't you believe in the Resurrection. She assured me that they do but only memorialize Jesus's death because that is the only thing Jesus said to remember.
Umm. Maybe Jesus figured it was safe to assume that when He rose from the dead, that would be hard to forget so no need to tell them to remember Resurrection Sunday. I digress though.
So, I was reading more on what they believe and learned that they don't believe that he physically rose from the dead. Just his "spirit body" whatever that means.
Anyway, interesting how they have trouble admitting that he rose from the dead which would indicate He was indeed God in the flesh!
Here's a site I found that seems to have good info on JW beliefs.

Check this out. Keep your eye on the number of earthquakes in the past week as you start the animation. Right before the big quake you will see a calm before the storm. Then the numbers jump up dramatically (after the 7.2 that just hit yesterday).

BTW- we just had another about 1hr ago near TJ/South East by Mexico- 4.9? (Didn't feel that one.)
D.H. is walking around- "Pastor Ray is right"- "Your right, I think this means Christ is coming soon." (This is so unlike him.)
New post is up.
Is there anything biblically about what demons can or can't say?
I don't recall ever reading anything about that.
