I am not a history expert. AS a matter of fact, I almost failed history in school, more than once. But anyone who graduated during my generation will remember the rhyme; in 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
Well, something jumped out at me this morning. And you know it's said, those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Perry Stone talks about cycles and reverses and I think I stumbled upon one. (I did contact him about it today.)

There's also a push to officially recognize Muslim holidays here in the US, too. When I was teaching
(5 years ago), schools typically recognized students' absences due to Ramadan, etc. and weren't penalized if they missed a day and they were given extra time to make up the work they had missed. Those elements have been creating a softening in our culture so that formal recognition won't be nearly as startling...as ATTY once gave the analogy, it's how to boil a frog :-)

I have a creative photographer friends who's REALLY OUT THERE. He's so out there that I called him up to take pictures of the sky at dusk & see if a UFO image may show up. (Someone LA had been talking w/gave detailed instruction on how to get the pictures.)
If he really does this-which he might-I'll let you know the outcome. He said he not only had the camera to do it with but that he has one that will view even farther into the sky.

Have you ever danced at a funeral? That would be unthinkable, absurd. Funerals are times of reflection, sorrow, and mourning. We expect funerals to bring sadness and tears, not joy and celebration.

Funny that you cited that passage from Joel. Yesterday I listened to a Q & A session with Rabbi Singer and Jeremy Gimpel on their radio program. The caller asked about the coming 'beast' that was to rule the OWG but the Rabbi asked him to show wherein the Jewish scriptures it states that 1 person would rule (ie. the beast). The Rabbi then quoted this verse in Joel saying that it indicated a conglomerate attack made up of nations that have despised Israel rather than all those nations being led by one ruler. I took it to mean that Jewish teaching does not include the concept of 'the beast' as we understand it but rather a loose confederation of nations that will attack in concert. That was helpful in seeing how they will mistake the intentions of the anti-Christ toward them in the beginning. If they're worried about a gathering of nations, then a single man won't be of concern, esp. one that is talking peace.

Israel's national security adviser, Uzi Arad, says that Israel must have tremendously powerful weapons to ward off a nuclear attack or destroy an enemy that dares to launch an atomic strike against the Jewish state. Arad's comments appeared to allude to what is widely believed to be Israel's own nuclear arsenal and a standing Israeli policy of mutually assured destruction, a warning to other countries that could bring about their own devastation if they launch an attack.

God, not nuclear weapons, will protect His chosen people. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

Lisa, Shalom! All I can say about that "Fatima Trilogy" is this:
Complete and utter trash.
This is the result of people who may describe themselves as a Ufologist, but in fact, they are strictly secularist trying to lead people away from G_D. It is a mentality that insists that it is impossible that the miracles at Fatima be from G_D, so they must be from some highly advanced alien race. I imagine its greatest appeal will be to those who thought the movie "Knowing" wasn't an act of fiction but a message to prepare yourself: G_D won't save you, but the aliens will.
When you read about Fatima, you have to remember that Portugal at the time was recovering from a revolution seven years before, which toppled the monarchy. The result of that revolution was a Republic that was totally secular: all power was in the hands of the government, and all religion -- not just the Catholic Church, but all protestant churches and synagogues -- were suppressed and public displays of religion were forbidden. In the urban areas, practicing your faith could get you arrested. It was only in the rural areas that people could practice their faith, but only if it was done discreetly, so that the local police didn't have to worry about arresting their friends and neighbors.
When Lucia dos Santos, Francisco Marto, and Jacinta Marto first saw "the beautiful lady" (that's all they called her, because the lady refused to give her name until the sixth visit) on May 13th of 1917, the government was struggling to keep some semblance of order amidst the growing anarchy of an economic collapse and Portugal's participation in WW1. The government had no time to waste on these fairy tales that were threatening to bring the people back into superstition. So on the day before the August 13th visitation, the police quietly arrested all three children and put them in jail.
When I say children, I mean children: their ages were 10, 9, and 7. They were not allowed to see their parents or anyone else. The chief of police threatened to cut off their arms if they did not admit that they were making up this story about "a beautiful lady". When they refused, he locked them in a room "so he could get the oil boiling." Later, he took them away, one by one, to be boiled in the oil. The children STILL refused to recant. When this failed, the chief of police did the only thing left to do: he put them in the prison to spend the night with the rest of the criminals.
This wasn't your modern prison with cells and toilets. This was a single room, dirty, dark, and stinking; and the men in there ranged from common drunks to violent men who would have no problem ... abusing ... these children. Imagine the surprise of the jailers when they came back the next morning to find all the prisoners, even the most hardened, some of them weeping, on their knees with the children praying.
The story of Fatima is a story of faith under persecution, not some sci-fi story of alien intervention. If this is the result of some alien plan, then what is to keep us from believing that ANY miracle -- all the cures, all the rescues -- are not part of that alien plan, and that sometime in the future they will reveal themselves so that we can stop believing in G_D and start believing in them?
Or perhaps believe that THEY are god?
If you're going to read the descriptions of this trilogy, at least do me the courtesy of reading about this new film that is being released in October: The 13th Day. Watch the trailer of the film; read the stories of the children; click on the button "The Facts" and read about the Miracle at Fatima on October 13, 1917, and ask yourselves a simple question. This question was put forth by a gay atheist writing on a Christian forum, which makes it all the more interesting:
Why do you have no problem believing what 12 men saw 2000 years ago, but you can't believe what 70,000 people saw less than a hundred years ago?

Sorry I have to disagree w/you on this one. I believe w/100% certainty that Fatima & the Marian apparitions are seducing spirits.
I've studied what they have said & since I only abide by God's word as written in the Bible their words to not agree w/God's written word.
That's it. It's the only source of divine information we can rely upon w/100% assurance.
If you want to believe that the RRC leaders & Pope speak from God's mouth you have the free will to do so.
You will eventually find that these apparitions are seducing souls into the grand end time delusion. Eventually they will twist their message to such a degree even you will take notice. What they are saying is already at the point of heresy w/exalting of Mary practically to the throne of Jesus. Catholics have idols of her. They kiss her feet-carry statues around-pray to her-adore her-honor her & the list goes on.
Remember-some of your brothers in the Vatican already believe that Aliens could be our "sinless" space brothers. Don't believe this is just some coincidence-it's not.
As far as the Fatima books- I haven't read them. But what I do know is that all of these secrete societies/ pagan & Satanic cults/ supernatural UFO events/ and unbiblical apparitions are tied into the man of lawlessness. In every single instance-if you follow the rabbit hole far enough-they merge together.
I know it-I've spent the time for the past three years researching & tracing it.
I'm not overly concerned with convincing you of these things though. You'll find out soon enough if end time prophecy continues to accelerate at the current pace. Sometimes it takes seeing to believe these things.

We know the dragon is Satan, and the beast is the antichrist. The false prophet is obviously a religious entity, which is deceitful. Looks like it is Christian, but does not speak Truth.
I am not saying Fatima is "the" false prophet. But these unclean spirits that come out of the dragon, beast and false prophet work miracles and go forth to deceive the world and its leaders.
We MUST be Bereans and be solid in the Word, have our armour on and have the Holy Spirit, or we WILL be deceived! The deceptions will be overpowering otherwise.
People will believe what they see and hear, even if it is contrary to the Bible.
If the spirits that influenced those children in Fatam were evil and demonic, why were they kneeling in prayer in a filthy prison, influencing hardened criminals to pray and weep in total submission. Were they praying to Satan?

If you have found something that the commissions have missed, I REALLY need to hear what it is. Because the one thing that marks any purported apparition as false is if any messages or anything that is said contradicts scripture.

I totally agree with you!!! I'm not a fan of the RCC and that's putting it mildly to be courteous to others. All I have to say about the RCC can be summed up in David Hunt's book and movie on youtube.com "A Woman Rides the Beast".

Feelings & emotion are not a tell tale sign of Spirits and/or supernatural encounters from the Most High. If you want a recent Evangelical example-take Todd Bentley for instance. He had orbs flying, angel dust, people crying, healings (some questionable-others may have been real) a huge following of people all thinking they are witnessing a move of God.
People were coming in droves & claiming to be saved - lives changed, etc...
I studied him at the time-from a distance-and it was immediately obvious to me that the man was dealing with seducing spirits.
If it were obvious to all of us that these supernatural encounters were actually Satanic then we would never be seduced into deception.
Even though all the mayhem- I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people actually were led to Christ. Not the Todd Bentley's version but God can take seemingly impossible situations and turn them around for His glory.
We should not hold bad feelings toward our Christian brothers & sisters who are tricked into believing a wayward spirit is from God. Personally I just feel badly & am driven to expose the demonic apparitions for what they are. Perhaps, they will realize how important it is to compare everything we come across with the Word of God & in earnest prayer to God Himself.
These are the times in which we live & it's only going to become more apparent.
If anyone has a hard time in deciphering spiritual deception then let your requests made known to God & ask for discernment on these matters.
I speak w/boldness because I've been shown these things through hours of daily study for the past 3-4 years. If you have done an in depth study on what the apparitions are proclaiming and searched out the scripture to see if the words come from God then we should compare notes if you feel it's Biblical.
Emotion will not lead us to truth. In fact God says that our hearts are desperately wicked and who can know them?
Seducing sprits give off physical/emotional sensory reactions just as if we were to encounter an authentic angel of the Lord.
How much time have you spent researching seducing spirits?
Personally I would have a little more fear of the Lord than to quickly accuse one of His children that they have no knowledge.
If we accuse each other of such things when it is the Lord who gives wisdom, knowledge, discernment, and understanding to His children-then we persecute the Lord Himself if we are wrong.
Without seeking the Lord and asking for these gifts I would know nothing. But then-that's what you think I know. Nothing.
Just before I checked in here I just watched this young lady who posted a prophetic word on UTube. I know she looks a little goofy-but this is a classic example of the type of the person the Lord will use.

We can prophesy, we can cast out demons in Jesus name, we can even do miracles in Jesus name. But-it's not Jesus or the Holy Spirit giving us the power to do these things. If He doesn't know us then whose power is it?

why can't the apparitions be angels from God? just because it's the RCC? none of us are questioning Joel's claim that 1000's of Muslims are coming to Christ because of visions of Christ. random thought on the whole sequence of wars upcoming. The thing that has bothered me about Ps 83 happening before EZ 38 is who Sheba and Dedan are. If Sheba and Dedan are really places like Saudi and Kuwait, some place the merchants of Tarshish also as being of the ME and not western as some do, what kind of shape would they then be in to ask Russia and Iran-have you come to take a plunder and a spoil? Random though crossed by head today-are the differences in who comes against Israel in Ps 83 vs EZ 38 based on whether they are Shia or Sunni? IF the coalitions described in PS 83 are mainly Sunni and those in EZ 38 mostly Shia then the order actually makes more sense. Iran has talked about liberating the Muslim holy sites from the Saudi ruling family as well as establishing an Islamic caliphate. When the coalition comes in EZ 38 it might be clear who the main target is ie Israel it might not exactly be clear if there are secondary targets. I think the countries Israel has fought and won against in Ps 83 might not necessarily want revenge on Israel if they thought after that country was handled that the coalition would just sweep up through the rest of the area and claim all else and establish the caliphate.

I don't believe in any of the Marian doctrines truly but I am somewhat curious as to why protestants discount the idea of angelic messengers to denominations outside their own? Whether folks who are anti RCC want to admit it or not there are true Christians within that denomination just as there are many in protestant denominations who are not of Christ.
Note I did say I was sort of playing devil's advocate. I know why I personally have some reservations-the focus seems to be more on Mary than on Christ for starters.

I am not bashing Catholics. I am bashing the false teaching of the apparition of Mary, and many false teachings of the RCC.
I also believe in ministering angels. But I am also aware of fallen angeles and what their mission is.
I have just returned from working in Jordan/Syria/Iraq and three of my coworkers were Catholic Christians. I know many Catholics who are born-again. And, I know a lot who are totally lost and without a Savior.
And I for one am not going to refuse to share the true gospel of Christ with them. Are you?

I'm assuming you are (or were, if she is no longer with us) devoted to your mother: you listened to what she said; treated her with honor, respect, and love; and at some point found yourself imitating her in how she treats or treated others. You did NOT (I hope) offer sacrifice to her. That would be worship. If you ask your mother to help you in something, or to pray for you, are you worshiping her, or are you simply showing another facet of devotion?
If one part of devotion is "imitation", then how do we imitate Mary, especially in her devotion towards Jesus? Read John 2:1-11, the Wedding Feast at Cana. You'll notice that starting with the first verse, the focus is on Mary: it says that "the mother of Jesus was there" and only mentions in passing that Jesus and his disciples were also there. Verse 3 says: When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." When Jesus tells her that his hour has not yet come, she doesn't berate, scold, beg, or nag him. Instead, she simply tells the servants to "do whatever he tells you." She has the ultimate faith: she has simply placed the needs of the wedding couple into His hands, then stepped back to let Him do what He knows is best. THAT is what is meant by "devotion to my Immaculate Heart": to imitate the great love she has for Jesus, her Son, and to have complete faith in Him.
(As a side note, Catholics say that Mary has an "Immaculate Heart" because we believe she was preserved from the stain of Original Sin. If G_D cannot tolerate being in the presence of evil, how could Jesus -- who is True God and True Man, through the hypostatic union -- have tolerated being inside Mary's womb for nine months?)

As for your question "Does the Bible say we should pray for the dead?", that has a couple of different answers. First, the Catholics hold that 1st and 2nd Maccabees are divinely inspired, and so are included in the Catholic canon of the Bible. (Even if you don't believe they are divinely inspired, they are still useful to read. They describe a time when the Jews rose up against a government that had desecrated the temple and were forcing Jews to offer sacrifice to false gods; something I fear we may have to face all too soon.) In there, 2 Mac. chap. 12 describes a set of battles; in particular, one against Gorgias, governor of Idumea. 2 Mac. 12:34 says, "In the ensuing battle, a few of the Jews were slain." Later on, we find out why these particular Jews were slain: "But under the tunic of each of the dead they found amulets sacred to the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbids the Jews to wear. So it was clear to all that this was why these men had been slain." (2 Mac. 12:40) The rest of the chapter (verses 41-46) says what Judas Maccabeus and his men did:
They all therefore praised the ways of the Lord, the just judge who brings to light the things that are hidden. Turning to supplication, they prayed that the sinful deed might be fully blotted out. The noble Judas warned the soldiers to keep themselves free from sin, for they had seen with their own eyes what had happened because of the sin of those who had fallen. He then took up a collection among all his soldiers, amounting to two thousand silver drachmas, which he sent to Jerusalem to provide for an expiatory sacrifice. So from a CATHOLIC point of view, yes, the Bible does tell us to pray for the dead. From a PROTESTANT point of view, the argument can still be made for this. Ephesians 2:1-10 explain that though our bodies may be dead, we are alive with Christ. Therefore, we are not praying for the dead; we are praying that those souls whose bodies have died have found new life in Christ.
And I agree about a little poison spoiling the whole cup. That's why with any purported apparition, the messages are subjected to extreme scrutiny. If there may be the slightest poison, the entire body of messages are rejected.

1-I will say this-the denomination (Baptist and at least one of their schools) I grew up insisted essentially that there were no denominations that were truly Christian other than ours. Obviously false but still widely taught and believed.
2-what I was taught that Catholicism says and what they actually practice and believe are not necessarily accurate. Same with some things like infant Baptism which is not the same for all denominations that practice it but is taught as if all are the same. Ditto speaking in tongues.
3-I tell all people about Christ regardless of their denomination but to assume that because one belongs to a certain denomination automatically means that they are lost or automatically means they are saved is wrong. I hope you would also witness as fervently to someone from a protestant denomination including your own.
to put it in perspective-
our beliefs in a rapture and millennial kingdom, disbelief in the Host and infant baptism for salvation I daresay are considered in the catholic church as heretical as what we as protestants say about their beliefs in Mary.

I always appreciate the caring way that you moderate this forum. We do all have to be careful in how we come across. Sometimes I get in a hurry and may sound like I'm being harsh, when that is not what I want to do at all.
I personally believe that God has His true children in every church.
But, actually I don't see where anyone has bashed anyone in their comments. Surely warning others of potential danger cannot be bashing anyone. It is a loving thing to do. And I firmly believe that was OSSA's intention, too.
But forgive me if I have come across as unloving. That was not intended. Often I pray for God to put His love in my heart, as I need it so much.

My friend Linda came over to spend some time with me this afternoon and while I was doing my dishes from lunch, she got on my computer and visited some blogs to keep her busy. I love Linda but there are times when I would like to teach her some manners and much needed protocol. She signs on as "guest" on my computer and I, thinking I had done all of my clean up of the Cave's URL, didn't think much about it until I happened to pass by her back and saw "MR. The commentaries that I listed from Chick publication website were printed by permission from the book "Understanding Roman Catholicism" by Rick Jones, a former Catholic, who I know personally. He does not hate Catholics either. On the contrary!
I am sorry if it appeared to you that I was bashing Catholics. But, I must stand on the Word of God and rebut error when I see it.
I have no idea if you are indeed born-again, but it appears to me that you a nice person and seem very kind. I disagree with a lot of false religions, but I do not hate those who have been blinded by them.

The lyre bird video was great...but did you check out the same video with the 'unseen footage' in it? That's even better! It should come up as another choice after the original one plays. Hubby and I were laughing hysterically.
And there's another good example of the bird's ability at the video from the Adelaide Zoo (which follows the 'unseen footage' video.) In that one, the bird actually mimics humans at 2 points. Very cool. Can't wait to show the kids tomorrow :-)

Berean, shalom. The fact is that, regardless of your knowledge of or relationship with Rick Jones, anyone who would cite any Chick publication as authoritative cannot be trusted. I earlier made the comparison between Jack Chick publications and "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion." In case you didn't know, "The Protocols" is a forged work created by political enemies of one of the Tsar's favorite advisors as an attempt to discredit him. It contains numerous blood libels against the Jewish people. It got translated into French and for the past 100 years has been circulated around the world as proof of the evil plans the Jews have for the rest of the world. It's been used as justification for all manner of violence done against Jews around the world, including in America.
Jack Chick publications are the Roman Catholic version of "The Protocols" -- filled with lies, mistruths, and half-truths, in a form that can easily be spread around (I usually find them in truck stop bathrooms) by people who appear to not want to be seen distributing them. They are hate literature in the tradition of some of the stuff I've seen printed by the KKK.
If you're not going to read the article I linked to, at least read some of the exposes done by "Christianity Today" on Jack Chick which cover some of the financial schemes he has been involved with (such as collecting money for missions who had never heard of him), and the people he has surrounded himself with. One of them was an evangelist named John Todd who claimed he was a former Druid priest and member of the Illuminati, and who was later convicted of rape and sent to prison.
Like I said, your friend Rick Jones needs to SERIOUSLY re-think his view of and relationship with Jack Chick Publications.

About the chip, that would be too creepy for me. My grocery store offers the option of just paying with a thumb print rather than going to all that work of taking out your credit card and sliding it through the thingy to pay. I choose not to use it. It seems to me that getting comfortable and even dependent on the ease of such technology will make it more difficult to resist the more nefarious technology of the future. It slips in so easily, first credit/debit cards made payment so much easier than all that writing out of checks and entering things in check registers (ever been behind someone who insisted on doing the arithmatic right then and there to make sure she had her check book up to date?) and now it's even easier to make a purchase without having to waste all that time signing a receipt! I have even wondered if there will be social pressure towards those who refuse the newest ways of buying goods and services (like long lines behind us, rolling eyes and 'come on, lady' looks).
I think about this and wonder if it will be part of the attraction for many to take the mark.
Yes, my family and I got to meet Lisa and her family. That was very cool! Lisa and her family are just beautiful and we really enjoyed meeting up with them. I also enjoyed seeing our daughter play and dance with Lisa's daughters in the outdoor courtyard with all the noisemakers and shofars blasting in the background at the end of the outdoor part of the service. That was cute.
I ended up talking mostly with Lisa's husband, who is definitely my kind of conservative : )

I couldn't help but notice from the title of this article that this whole Swine Flu scenario could be a form of a False Flag operation, and instead of falsely blaming it on another country, attributing the blame to mankind being poor stewards of the earth or mankind's effect on the environment, for the purpose I describe below.
If rumors that the Swine Flu was created in a lab to intentionally subject the masses to death are true, then could the reason be (among others) that it's a ruse to gain worldwide sympathy and support for taxing rich countries? This could be just another cog in the wheel of efforts to bring down the U.S. Nothing elicits sympathy and support for the taking of other people's property (via taxes, etc.) more than the death and suffering of others. It's like a worldwide version of socialism, which is basically what the OWG is going to be.
If TPTB can create several worldwide mechanisms (like cap and trade, taxation advocated by the World Health Organization to battle the Swine Flu, etc.) to tax rich countries and thus subsidize poorer countries, then they will have accomplished on a worldwide scale what socialism accomplishes on a country-specific level.
Among other reasons for unleashing the Swine Flu might be to force a worldwide ID system to monitor and enforce compliance of "their" form of immunization.

I've been watching another blog which has been discussing the "prophetic word" which Conlon said he'd received that a calamity would strike the US which would cause this Prayer in the Square to be the largest and the last. It would cause people to gather to pray. He did not specifically say that this calamity was related to the Urgent Message of David Wilkerson. Some are saying if nothing happens, false prophet. But most are saying either he misunderstood or we misunderstood him. Here's what I wonder. Is this related?

I've been trying to get into Catholic Answers all morning, and keep getting the message that the servers are busy. On two religious news aggregators (Spirit-Digest.com and SpiritDaily.com) several of the stories I've clicked on have failed to load or load only after multiple tries.
Just checked with Rapture In The Air -- their top new email is that the New Moon has finally been sighted in Jerusalem, so Rosh HaShana can finally begin. The poster is saying that the 22nd, then, is still RH, and since BOO will be meeting with Netanyahu with a 400+ "Peace Treaty" that involves dividing Israel, then the Rapture will take place on the 22nd.
I imagine this kind of news WOULD cause an increase in traffic in some quarters...

It was a couple weeks ago in Church thinking about all of the worldly chaos during worship & the words were "Keep your eyes focused on Jesus".
Then I haven't heard really anything since so I thought maybe last night I would. Well-nothing.
So this morning in Church during worship again I received some words as I was thinking about the catching up & singing about it- this time: "I'm going to show you how to live in My power".

So then after hearing "I'm going to show you how to live in my power" I was ruminating on it & thought to myself-1st God's ways are not our ways. And thinking that perhaps from His perspective that if He took us before He really made us ready to "live in His power" we might really get gypped.
The Christians after Jesus 1st coming we're taught & lived in His power-so will the Christians before Jesus 2nd coming be taught and also accomplish the same tasks with boldness under His authority?
Are we going to be caught up while under a major anointing or will we be taken up collectively while in spiritual wimpy shape?
I don't know - I'm getting the impression that we're not going to get spiritually ripped off. We are going to be tried/tested/refined until we are working in the full power of the Lord for His glory. We'll have so much faith that we'll have the mind of David when facing Goliath.
In the flesh we really don't want to go through all the firey trials in life & can't wait to be on the easy streets of gold.
But now I'm changing my perspective. I want to be like the Biblical Christians learning how to live in His power. What if we were to miss such a once in an earthly lifetime opportunity?
This is sure to be an interesting (God's calendar) New Year.

Will it be: "You guys kind of fizzled out at the end & Jesus had to come take you up before you passed out."- or will it be? "You guys had the power & glory of the Lord shining thru you & He took you up while you were causing righteous havoc on earth."

I'm a little reluctant to post a link without a legitimate source that I can attribute it to, but then again, I don't have faith in traditional media outlets to report on everything, so sometimes I run with it. Lisa, right now I'm feeling the fizzled out part. I so hope to be able to overcome, but right now I feel the evil attacking from every side. This is what's happening to me Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
I sense this in so many people around me and those I'm involved with somehow. It's like evil has been let loose to torment and decieve so many more people right now. I want to be strong in the Lord.
Today's sermon was about Jeremiah and how he was rejected by the very people he wept for. We need to be ready for rejection, even by the very people we are serving for the Lord. This is hard. But, I don't feel as down as Jeremiah did:
20:18 Why did I come out from the womb to see toil and sorrow,
and spend my days in shame?
How well do you face temptation?
Then the Devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, "If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, 'He orders his angels to protect you, and they will hold you with their hands to keep you from striking your foot on the stone.'" Facing Temptation
Know this: you are not the first [to be tempted], nor will you be the last. And do not despair; it doesn't indicate that you are failing spiritually.

Lisa - strange that you should ask the question.
In the past month, or so, I've felt that the Lord has kicked me up a notch, in both knowledge & understanding His love.
I'm feeling a strong yearning to get out there & DO something, witnessing, outreach, etc.
Last night, before I went to bed, I kept thinking I needed to read Ephesians. I read a page or two of a book I have going instead. Turned off the lights & couldn't fall asleep! OK, turn the light back on & read a little bit of Ephesians.
This morning, the first thought in my brain -- Ephesians!
Ok, Lord, I hear you loud & clear.
So... I read Ephesians!
Things like that don't happen to me all that often, but it's very cool when they do.

Anne, I have found "interesting" ways of finding original documents on the web. No matter what I tried, I couldn't find the source.
Now, does the document exist? Possibly... If it did, what happened to it? Well, that's even harder to say. The fact that it did not show up in my search even in a cached version is suspect.
In the past I have found documents on my own that were alarming, only to send the link out and find out it was removed from the internet.
So, now when I find something that seems like a big story, I save it to an external hard-drive that I remove immediately after saving.
Oh, and I do not hack... never
I know of quiet a few brothers and sisters in Christ who are being tempted and others who are under going huge spiritual battles currently, myself and family included! We need to hang in there and turn to Him who feeds us in all aspects of our lives, in all manner of ways through His word and other ways He manages to speak to us.
Keep on keeping on and looking up!

Off the Wall News is ready for your perusal.
Ok- It's been quite a day already and I've only been awake a few hours.
I'm driving Lorraine (8yrs) to school & she mentions that she had a rough night. I asked her what happened & she said that while she was awake she saw words in her head for an about a 1/2hour. Over & over she was reading "Do Not Be Deceived". She wanted it to stop but it wouldn't for a while-when it did she prayed then fell asleep. (I'm not so sure she exactly knows what a 1/2 hr of time really is but to her it seems like a fair amount of time.)
She explained that the actual letters were outlined in thin white lines and the inside was colored grey.
This definitely perked up my spiritual antenna because it brought to mind a conversation I was in on Marzulli's Blog from John who thought the Video I posted w/the young girls warning was fake about the "Angelic Visitation" just because she had a tattoo on her arm. He had called her a false prophetess.
I still really felt the girl is sincere so I went to God in prayer & asked for confirmation. Ok-perhaps Lorraine's vision is it?
Then-after I drop Lorraine off at school I went to get gas w/Melanie & decided to get the car washed. In my purse I carry around a DVD called "The God of Wonders" by eternal productions. I pass them out to people here & there. She asked if she could give one to her teacher today. (Who's a Christian) So sure-of course.
We get to the car wash & another car pulls up so then I'm thinking about trying to beat it & be 1st so I can get Melanie to school on time. The guy running the drive thru wash is a young man-20s? And then I see sort of a spiritual deadness? (I don't know how to explain it) & think I should also give him one of the DVD's.
Well, by the time I was done thinking about giving him one (should I or shouldn’t I?) he was attending another car behind us so we went through the wash. As we got out of the wash I was bothered that I did' give it to him in the 1st place.
So I leave to take Melanie to school & try to brush it off & say-well maybe I'll see him again next time & give him one.
No go- I was still totally convicted to drive all the way back & give him this DVD. So in I went to God in prayer & asked for a confirmation. I didn't get any supernatural vibes but I turned the wheel in the direction of the car wash & prayed all the way there to have the guts to do it.
(I typically pass these things casually out but to feel compelled to make a specific effort is totally not the norm.)
When I pull up he recognizes that I was just there & comes up to the car. I asked him if he was a Christian (I thought maybe he was & was praying last night or something? Why in the world am I so compelled to give him this?)
He says "No I am not" very matter of factly. I told him that I just felt compelled to come back & give him this DVD & that nothing was wrong w/the car wash. He took it & then went back to work. He took it w/a look of nothingness-there was no light in his eyes.
So there you have it. Why in the world I went back to do this only God knows. I wish I could report that he was excited & appreciative or was praying about something but that's it.
Now I'm thinking maybe this more a test for me than something for him.
Or both perhaps.
Lisa - the important thing is, you felt led to give him the dvd & you did it! Good on you.
Pastor Chan did a really good sermon on this. Essentially he said, it doesn't matter that you don't get confirmation or even gratification when witnessing. Perhaps you've planted a seed but won't see it grow.
You have no idea what this boy is going to go through - maybe 10 minutes after you gave him the dvd the Lord led someone else to him or whatever.
Pretty cool, well done.

This is why I don't think it was a confirmation of John thinking this girl was a false prophet. (His basis for his opinion was based on the simple fact she had a tattoo on her arm.)
Immediately when Lorraine told me her "Do not be Deceived" vision I flashed right to the ladies warning " The Angelic Deception is Coming". That was my initial reaction of linking the two together.
That something is coming & do not be deceived by it. Then later on I had the same thought questioning myself- or was it don't be deceived by the lady?
If the lady was presenting some false teaching or something maybe I would have understood it the other way. (Of course if that we're the case then I wouldn't have thought she was legit in the
1st place.)
What she was warning about was an "Angelic" or some form of supernatural deception coming. Something to do w/the Anti-Christ.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see if something shows up or not. If it does then we'll really know for sure.
All I really take from this is to be on the lookout & not to be surprised if some strange occurs & not to be deceived if it does.
Can anyone think of something anti-Biblical or negative from what this lady warned about? She told her audience not to take her words at face value but take it to God in prayer.

I thought grey? How strange. Grey outlined in a thin white line.
Last time there was writing in her "Goliath" dream it was red/green/black? Other colors.

You collect fonts? I really don't know if it has a name. Do you have a font that has the letters outlined for effect? Have you ever drawn letters and colored the insides of them? Such as "HAPPY BIRTHDAY". Then color the insides of the double lines in each letter different colors? That's the only way I know how to describe it.
As for the exact style of lettering I'll have to ask her. I was just thinking of All caps-kid looking Block style but I'll see if there was something more to it.
On another note:
I ran into a Christian friend today in tears because she's having a hard time with her 5-soon to turn 6 yr old daughter.
(This friend of mine is a spirit filled prayer warrior type.)
What has got her @ wits end is that her daughter has been questioning "if God is real?" It's been going on now for a few weeks & now she's come up w/a plan to ask God to send fire down from heaven like Elijah-then she'll know He's real.
She cannot believe her daughter who is so young would even be questioning God at this age.
This gal I know reads the Bible to her on a regular basis-has her in a Christian school- goes to Church-and you name it.
I told her I would pray for Diamond(her daughter) & that I would ask my friends here if they have had or know of any similar experiences.

Tell your friend that it's not unusual for very intelligent children to be asking those questions -- just ask my mom (may G_D keep her close), who had to deal with 8 very intelligent children. (I was #7.) Your friend can do something like saying, "OK, if you want to see a miracle, I'll show you one," then point at a tree. When her daughter says, "That's just a tree," your friend replies, "Let's see YOU make one."
A few days after that, your friend can explain to her about "setting a fleece before the Lord", which is asking for a confirmatory sign from G_D about a course of action you should take. Explain that Elijah was able to do what he did because G_D directed him to do that, not because Elijah was controlling or commanding G_D. The fire wasn't called down to prove to Elijah that G_D exists. It wasn't done to show to the Israelites that G_D exists. It was done to prove to the Israelites that G_D was more powerful that Ba'al, that Ba'al was a false god.
After she's had a few days to ruminate upon THAT, it might be time to introduce her to the book of Job, especially the last couple of chapters.
Above all, I don't think your friend should treat this questioning as a sign of defiance or as something to be worried about. G_D would not allow her daughter to tested by this at such an early age if He did not have something wonderfully powerful planned for her.

I will pray for Diamond. Remind her mother that doubts are very good. Many young people have these same questions when they are in their teens, and are much more influenced by their peers. Doubts simply mean that the person needs more information.
The problem with doubts is that we often refuse to move/act/believe until our doubts are resolved. This changes "not knowing enough" to disobedience. perhaps the mom could focus in on "learning to hear the voice of God, and the silence of God." My daughter went thru the silence of God for a number of years until she learned how God spoke directly to her. It is different for every person, but even the youngest can hear God's voice. If Diamond never hears God speak to her, then He will always remain a "concept" to her. Let the relationship begin.
On another note, we here are surely noticing the spiritual battle. As one standing on the front line, It feels like I am bearing the brunt of the charge against satan's attack. Each day is a lesson in finding strength to enjoy.

This is quite normal behavior for a 6 year old child, to question what is real and what is not. They are learning many things at this age and it really is just a stage that she will go through. I would not worry about it but still encourage your friend to show her daughter how we know that God is there (creation, the little details of things in nature, her own mind telling her what is right and wrong-children know this by this age, ect.)

I remember when Look Up Fellowship first posted about this. Someone was talking about the (supposed) buried 8 stories and talking about how it's a military/FBI/Law Enforcement center. My response was, "Good!" The secret government facility at the Greenbriar Hotel was revealed a few years ago, where Congress and the President were supposed to gather and run the country in case of nuclear attack. We're STILL at risk of some form of nuclear attack, possibly from missile, possibly from something else, and I would hope and pray that someone was thinking far enough in advance to take advantage of the opportunity to build a new or secondary "Greenbriar" a little farther away from the shore than Washington or Boston or Chicago. I don't hold with it being a "detention center", but I can definitely see it as a secondary command post in case of attack.
But that artwork is truly creepy. If I ever have to fly in or out of that place, I think I'll follow the suggestion of the author and bring along some Holy Water and maybe even some Blessed Salt to sprinkle around the place.
