Isaiah 25:7-8

Isa 25:7 On this mountain he will swallow up
the shroud that is over all the peoples,
 the woven covering that is over all the nations;

Isa 25:8 he will swallow up death permanently.
The sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from every face,
and remove his people's disgrace from all the earth.
Indeed, the LORD has announced it!

In my reading this morning in Acts chapter 12, I read something that made my hair stand on end.

It starts at vs 20,

Herod was angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon, but they assembled together and comae to him, and they apealed to Blastus, the king's chamberlain, and asked him that they might have peace, because their country was dependent upon the kingdom of Herod for food supplies.

21: Upon the set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon the throne and addressed the assembly.

22: And all the people shouted, saying, This sounds like the voice of God speaking and not that of a man.

23: And because he did not give the glory to God, in that very hour an angel of the Lord smote him, and he was eaten by disease and died.

Honestly, the first thing I thought of was socialism. How the people were looking to Herod for their food supplies.

Then, when it mentioned that the people said he sounded like "the voice of God speaking," I thought of Obama and how so many people have literally put him on a pedestal as a messiah.

He has never publically denounced that action, and given the glory to God, so his silence has placed his stamp of approval on their actions.

His fate may be similar to Herod's.

Lori,
That is powerful and I can truthfully say that in all of my years of Bible study, that has never even sparked my mind to think in terms of what it meant or that we should participate in a Same Effect in our days. I had a very peculiar dream about Obama several nights ago and when I woke up, the events and all the details weren't there but I have a horrible grinding in my Spirit for the man and his family. Now, I don't know if saying his family means just his immediate family or the family roots of all those in all nations. I just know that there is something out there trying very hard to bring major destruction on all of us. The spiritual battle is heating up and not at a slow rate. The other day as I was going about my usual boring routine I was surprised by an overwhelming nudge to pray in the Spirit. The whole time I was praying it was really strange and has never happened before to me. I was praying but it seemed I was in two realms; praying but at the same time praising like I have never before in my whole Christian life. I have tried to recreate it because it was glorious but I haven't accomplished that same level of sacredness. I can't explain it no matter how I try; it just was and I want so very much to get back in that same realm again.

I felt like I was in a huge cathedral and the praise and worship was bouncing all over and getting more and more powerful every second. There I stood softly praying in this beautiful atmosphere that was not of my making. If this is what is coming to the Body of Believers, Bring it on Lord and teach us ALL to enter in with humbleness and brokenness. Oh, Yes!

MAC, I know you are asleep or you should be, so I will just leave you a note and tell you I saw the news story last night on your situation in OZ and I am praying for you also. The program was totally on your situation and even hubby was over whelmed. Please keep us posted and yes, I have pleaded the blood over you!

Love and best morning blessings from Okieland.

very interesting indeed. one wonders what will happen. That has been one of my issues if you will all along-that when people starte praising him as the messiah and savior he does nothing to correct them and for a man who claims to be a Christian it is a very discordant note.

i knew about Saul Alinsky pre election-Beck covered quite a bit before he went off the air with CNN but I don't remember him mentioning that part. He just mentioned the whole Alinsky was a communist part. There is a difference in being an atheist and giving praise to Satan however as I don't think atheist's belive in satan either. I would also note that Hillary Clinton is also a devotee of Alinsky as well. I think she actually worked with the man though as opposed to just reading and studying his methods.

Grany,

What a wonderful experience! I know what you mean about tying to duplicate such a supernatural event.

I had a hint of something that may possibly be along those lines right when we moved back to CA. It was during worship when suddenly it felt as if the entire body of Christ was singing was in complete unity w/the Spiritual realm & I heard angels singing & praising God w/us. The tone was higher & the vibration (how I hate to say that word after learning about all this new age stuff) was different.

Of course I tell myself It was probably my wishful thinking & I was imagining it but the impact of that I never forgot. Even now I remember it and try to "hear" the same experience but so far-nope.

I had thought to myself at the time that this might be a taste of the feeling of complete spiritual unity we will have with God and with each other in Heaven & the age to come. Part of which is the reason God desires us to Love one another so much.

Grany,

Is it bad to pray that such a supernatural experience would fall on every child of Christ? I guess I'm hesitant since I don't want to chase after these things as the Charismatics do & sense boredom in my life if nothing "manifests."

I'm really never bored at Church even w/o any additional supernatural excitement.

I just received this from a wonderful friend in California and just wanted to share it with anyone who has their head buried too deep in the Sands of Africa and Arabia.

January 20, 2009:
1. Outgoing President George W. Bush quietly boards his helicopter and leaves for Texas, commenting only: "Today is not about me. Today is a historical day for our nation and people."

Eight years ago on Inauguration Day:
1.Outgoing President Bill Clinton schedules two separate radio addresses to the nation, and organizes a public farewell speech/ rally in downtown Washington D.C. scheduled to directly conflict with incoming President Bush's inauguration ceremony.

January 20, 2009:
2.President Bush leaves office without issuing a single Presidential pardon, only granting a commutation of sentence to two former border patrol agents convicted of shooting a convicted drug smuggler. He does not grant any type of clemency to Scooter Libby or any other former political aide, ally, or business partner.

Eight years ago:
2. President Clinton issues 140 pardons and several commutations of sentence on his final day in office. Included in these are: billionaire financier, convicted tax evader, and leading Democratic campaign contributor Marc Rich; Whitewater scandal figure Susan McDougal; Congressional Post Office Scandal figure and former Democratic Congressman Dan Rostenkowski; convicted bank fraud, sexual assault and child porn perpetrator and former Democratic Congressman Melvin Reynolds; and convicted drug felon Roger Clinton, the President's half-brother.

January 20, 2009:
3. The Bush daughters leave gift baskets in the White House bedrooms for the Obama daughters, containing flowers, candy, stuffed animals, DVD's and CD's, and heartfelt notes of encouragement and advice for the young girls on how to prepare for their new lives in the White House.

Eight years ago:
3. Clinton and Gore staffers rip computer wires and electrical outlets from the White House walls, stuff piles of notebook papers into the White House toilets, systematically remove the letter "W" from every computer key-pad in the entire White House, and damage several thousand dollars worth of furniture in the White House master bedroom.

Headlines On Inauguration Day 4 Years Ago:
"Republicans spending $42 million on inauguration while troops Die in unarmored Humvees"

"Bush extravagance exceeds any reason during tough economic times"

"Fat cats get their $42 million inauguration party, Ordinary Americans get the shaft"

Headlines Today:
"Historic Obama Inauguration will cost only $170 million"
"Obama Spends $170 million on inauguration; America Needs A Big Party"
"Everyman Obama shows America how to celebrate"

"Citibank executives contribute $8 million to Obama Inauguration"

Now tell me, is there a set of different rules for the bleeding heart liberals than there is for the conservatives? Did I sleep through the last four years of a Liberal dominated House of Representatives or what? Am I dreaming when I think that the House is the oversight group in Washington, D.C. that is SUPPOSED to keep all bureaus, committees, agencies and those who tax payers monies are being disbursed through, in compliance? Didn't someone tell me not too many months ago that the President really doesn't have any power unless Congress and the Senate give it to him? Did someone tell me that? Then please tell me why Barney Frank, chairman, House Financial Services Committee, is trying to lay the blame for this mess at the feet of the Republicans and especially President Bush? After all, he hails himself as the leading brain on all matters relating to Finance.

Now you know why I don't watch TV! If I want fairy tales I will go to the library and check out a real book on the subject and not some Fairy telling politician.

Sorry everyone but throwing up in cyberspace is very complicated.

Lisa, I don't think it is wrong to pray that each and every Child of God has a true and faith building experience with Abba. I really believe that God really wants all of us to really be connected and surrounded by his Holy Presence. He is there all of the time, it is us who get way off base and then we have to start all over again. Also, Lisa, God knows what is just around the corner or over the next hill in our lives. I can go through the darkest night on earth and draw strength in knowing that He is always there and what we have experienced is only a drop in the bucket for the real realm that God lives in. I believe he was sharing this with me to strengthen me for what is happening now and will happen as a result of it.

What this world has to offer in life is nothing compared to His provisions and we haven't even scratched the surface yet. As far as Charismatics are concerned, do a little word search on the term and then let me know how loud you shouted. Excess in anything will bring disaster and destruction. There is a saying that I think applies completely in this regard, "If it seems to good to be true, it probably isn't true". Pie in sky sort of things always trap the simple mind of seekers after a thrill.
Or I should add, IMHO.

great articles today.
I found the articles on the joint military of Russia et al most interesting as well as the article on the fires in Oz perhaps being set by jihadists. Despite the incredible hail we got yesterday (it was 1-2 inches thick in places) we live in a very dry area and fires are very common out here in the summer and very costly and depending on where they are could be deadly. It is not uncommon for fires to rage for weeks even taking weeks to get under control. Lisa lives in a similarly dry area.

Grany
well said. I shall have to copy that and send it one. I have been listening to one of my favorite people, ANN Coulter, on her newest book Guilty. she is talking about insiders who aren't really insiders that write books about the Presidents. She made the comment that Bush 43 Presidency had fewer scandals than even Reagan's and yet more defamatory books have been written by supposed insiders slamming Bush than Reagan, Bush Sr or even Clinton. The book is well worth the read or listen to.

To all
keep and eye on Mexico-our own government has said it is a tinder box as big as Pakistan and a whole lot closer. The Mexican government is very close to collapsing and we on the border are going to be over run when the cartels take over Mexico. i also wouldn't advise travel there any time soon either. In fact there was an article today off of Drudge I think that a man has admitted to liquifying about 300 people for one of the major cartels right across the border from San Diego. Glenn Beck has been tracking this and apparently there are about 70 US Citizens that have gone missing from border towns that are unaccounted for and there is at least one confirmed report of a rape camp for the cartel soldiers across the border. Even the Mexican military has become quite bold in crossing knowingly into our territory and holding border guards at gun point. You will of course no doubt remember Ramos and Campeon the border agents convicted of shooting a member of one of the cartels. We have one National park in Arizona that comes with stringent warnings about even being there due to the mexican drug cartels.

Shalom, all! Lori and Grany, in light of your experiences, I wanted to point you to Mark Mallett's latest blog entries. In particular, you may be interested in the most recent one, "The Smoldering Candle" and the previous one, "Are You Ready?" (Grany, you may be interested in the vision/dream from a missionary that Mark talks about in "Are You Ready?")

To give you an idea, here is the first paragraph from "The Smoldering Candle":

THROUGH very powerful confirmations, I believe Jesus wants you to read this writing very carefully because the days for its fulfillment are now here. You must not be afraid, for the love and light which God is pouring into your soul are going to increase more and more such that all darkness and fear will be conquered in your heart. There will only be Jesus, He who is perfect love casting out all fear. Rest, little ones, and know that you are safe ... bringing you deeper and deeper now into the chambers of the Master’s Sacred Heart where no evil can touch you.

Understand, these days are here… and for these days, you have been born.

The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion Explained If you read this to the end you will see how this plan is being implemented into the creation of the NWO. The Jewish comments turn out OK as you read on. The Bush comments-well I think they are out of frustration so you just have to rise above it & see how Bush was used in the process.

All the Bush media bashing was done to pave the way for the next step in the plan which Obama is now in charge of.

"The document known now as The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is one of the most important documents ever to come to light in the world. It can be described as the blueprint for the domination of the world by a secret brotherhood. In fact, the title of the second publication in 1922 was "World Conquest Through World Government".

**Historically this document is very interesting.

Also look at the vision of Albert Pike Wrote about hereAlbert Pike received a vision, which he described in a letter that he wrote to Mazzini, dated August 15, 1871. This letter graphically outlined plans for three world wars that were seen as necessary to bring about the One World Order, and we can marvel at how accurately it has predicted events that have already taken place.

With his vision in mind can't you see how the start of the workings of the 3rd world war began on 911 at least from the point of the USA's involvement? The rise & tensions of Islam & the state of Israel. Did any of us pay attention to Islam before this happened?**Maybe Ezekiel 38/39 is the send off point of WW3 & in the ensuing chaos the Anti-Christ arises? We know how that war ends & it's only the Arab countries which are destroyed-only because God intervenes on Israel's behalf.

This is all fascinating since last night Perry Stone's teaching was on Our will vs. God's plan for our lives vs. Satan's plan.

Clearly Albert Pike's vision would be considered as Satan's ultimate plan but we know it's the Mighty Creator of the Universe whose plan will prevail. Satan is only used by God in the process.

And to think God purposely placed us to be alive in this time frame. Who needs to seek extra supernatural manifestations when we can witness Biblical prophesy being fulfilled right in front of our eyes? That's certainly enough to keep me intrigued.

Jim C.

Perry Stone has just released a CD on interpreting Dreams & Visions which was for sale last night. I was going to get one but they were out by the time I got close enough to buy one.

Both Perry & his father have received quite a few so I would think by now he would have some wisdom on the topic. It's probably available on his website.

Honoring the Queen Mother is an important part (not essential, mind you, but important) of Catholic culture. As one author put it, "If Jesus is the North Pole, Mary is the Northern Star. She is not the destination. She is there to guide us to Him."

The countries identified with the passage in Ez. 38 and 39 are not Arab but are Islamic nations. Iran which was called Persia until recent times, is Persian and not Arab. They are very proud and demanding about not being an Arab nation. In fact, when the 10 tribes were being given their allotment after the exodus from Egypt, one tribe decided to take up roots in Persia. THE LOST TRIBES OF ISRAEL

I got started reading it and forgot what I was doing. Old age is really, really a lot of fun, if you keep a good sense of humor about it.

Yes your correct-thanks! I tend to lump Islamic & Arab into the same thought when they are together yet seperate. They all tend to worship Allah but are from different tribes. I don't know what the Russians typically worship. Nothing? If I called my Iranian Muslim friend an Arab she would be totally insulted.

What Mark Mallett consistently speaks about is also mirrored in the Body of Christ outside of the Catholic Church. The only difference is that it's interpreted though a Catholic theological lens. I think we both find that quite interesting?

Now if I understand Catholic end time theology right-those of us outside of the Catholic fold will be brought under the umbrella of the Catholic Church in the end times. So then Mark Mallett would feel this would happen in the very near future?

And for those Christians who refuse to do so when the time is right- they will be labeled as not a real sheep to begin with & against the one true Church?

Most of us here I believe hold the point of view that we are all individual members of the Body of Christ & that in it's self is the one true Church.

We all exhibit the fruits of the Spirit-are born again new creations in Christ & have a relationship with God through Jesus. Corporately we are all members of one Body.

Granted we bicker & have different theological opinions but God's will is accomplished through His body regardless of the disagreements & discords.

It appears that particular denominations have certain strengths & weaknesses but though the participation of all the individuals involved God's will is done. The majority of us do not participate in the rosary, sacraments, eurachrist... yet we are in filled with the Holy Spirit of God & have the visible gifts & fruits of the Spirit to prove it.

So when the axe comes down upon us from the Catholic Church to reform or else-what are you going to think about that?

Are you going to believe that we do not have a relationship with God through Christ? Or that it has suddenly been withdrawn? Would you betray us then?

I'm only asking these questions because I do indeed believe this will take place @ some point in the future.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-and all have been to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many."

"If the foot should say,"Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,' is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say,"Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body." is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be?

But now indeed there are many members, yet one body....." (The one body being the Spirit filled followers of Jesus Christ-not any particular denomination. That is why we are hearing the same basic warnings/teachings/revelations through Mark Mallett (**before the Catholic midset is plugged in) as from the other Holy Spirit filled Christians in the body of Christ from many different denominations.)

So not to complicate matters even more-we have apostasy running wild & are warned of a great apostasy to come. The only benchmark the majority of us use to stay on track is to always check what is being taught against God's word in the Bible. It's our only reliable source of truth.

Those of us who adhere to the Bible will not conform to the Catholic Church as it stands now w/some of it's teachings. So I think we can already visualize where this situation may end up.

We've got Protestant types going "New Age"-going "gay" going "pro-abortion" & going "no where" and every other sort of crazy thing right now since they have not spent the time in the Word & lack the necessary discernment not to be misled. Some of these "Christians" are the types which could be convinced to fold into the Catholic church.
**Are you sure you want them? (:

Anyway-just some rambling thoughts on the matter. It's yet to happen but I can't help but to think ahead.

very fitting post from Isaiah today. I just got home from my grandmother's funeral. I got the chance to read alot of her writings on her faith and love for the Lord and also many of her poems. She was 91 and had 9 children, 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. The Lord did fill her quiver full of arrows! :)
Thanks for your prayers, friends. The funeral was beautiful and the priest spoke of her great faith and love for the Lord. My dad told everyone there that she would say that is is "all about Jesus" and that she would want anyone there who did not know Him to come to Him today. What a blessing to have the gospel preached at one's funeral. It was a blessed day with tears and wonderful weather and fellowship with family.

Lisa, Shalom! You wrote:

Now if I understand Catholic end time theology right-those of us outside of the Catholic fold will be brought under the umbrella of the Catholic Church in the end times. So then Mark Mallett would feel this would happen in the very near future?

That's only one interpretation of Catholic eschatology. It's the one most people are familiar with, because it's the easiest one to describe, but there are at least four others that are possible. (Think of it as the Catholic version of pre-trib vs. post-trib, except none of these theories are considered THE one; more like different views of the elephant.)

And before we go any further, let me clear up something. You complain about the sources I pass on when they have references to Mary or other Catholic teachings, and you wish that they wouldn't have them or (as you put it) "put them at the end". Have you ever considered how many web sites you and the others here have linked to that talk about "the Rapture" or have other teachings that aren't held by the Catholic Church (or worse, are blatantly and sometimes violently anti-Catholic)? Yet I read many if not most of these links because I'm trying to glean what information I can. When they talk about something that isn't taught by the Church, I let it pass by, and use my discernment (led by the Holy Spirit) to judge the rest of the material.

Now, if my Catholic sources grate on your nerves when they talk about the Sacraments, or if they make you throw your computer across the room and tear out your hair when they mention Mary, then by all means, do not read them. I am not putting them up there for them to be an occasion of sin for you, nor to disrupt the unity of this group. I link to these sites because I believe they may have information or insights that you may find useful. The other option is to just turn the other cheek, let the references roll off you, and see what else is there that you can use.

If you're wondering why Mark Mallett would feel that many of the separated congregations would return to the Roman Catholic Church, look at the world from the Catholic point of view. In the last month, the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has recommended that the request by Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC) for full corporate and sacramental communion be approved. In other words, they are rejoining the Roman Catholic Church. Once this occurs (and people know what to expect), observers believe that many other conservative Anglican groups such as the Anglo-Catholics will also return to the Catholic Church.

At the same time, a group of ultra-conservative Catholics (The Society of St. Pius X, or SSPX) that were excommunicated thirty years ago for ordaining bishops without permission has asked for and had their excommunication removed, and are also in the process of being fully re-admitted to the Church. There are a growing number of Protestant ministers, particularly from the more liberal churches such as the Presbyterians, who are converting to Catholicism.

In other words, from the Catholic view, the idea of most if not all of the separated Christians returning to the Church is not only possible, it appears to be occurring right now. When you add the number of Protestant/ Charismatic/ Evangelical churches that are instituting their own "Catholic Lite" versions of different sacraments such as frequent reception of communion and confessing sins to one another, then Mr. Mallett is not alone in seeing a great return to the Church.

You wrote: So when the axe comes down upon us from the Catholic Church to reform or else-what are you going to think about that?

Are you going to believe that we do not have a relationship with God through Christ? Or that it has suddenly been withdrawn? Would you betray us then?

Chill! It is not for me to judge your relationship with Christ! And believe me, there is no need for any "axe to come down", as you put it. The examples I listed before, such as TAC, needed no such ax to seek communion with the Church. Only the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and if it needs an axe for it to happen, it isn't from the Holy Spirit. Now, since the Holy Spirit has not seen fit for me to know exactly what will happen, then I trust that the Holy Spirit will lead as many to Him as will follow Him. The how, why, when, and where I will leave to Him.

As for different "pro-gay" and "pro-abortion" denominations being folded into the Church, I doubt that VERY much! We have a hard enough time keeping the cradle Catholics in line with doctrine; there's no need and no desire to "fold in" anyone who isn't willing to toe the line on doctrine!

I deleted my comment because after I read it a second time I knew it was not in the right mind set. We are who we are and the main thing, and I think Jim hit on this before, is our hearts relationship with the Savior and perfect atonement that God provided for us. I will retain the main subject of my comment and that is simply our names to be written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

I consider Jim Carroll my precious friend and more than once, when things have gone to the pits in a leaky bucket, without mentioning it here at the cave, I have received the sweetest email from Jim that brought joy and a great release of gloom from my whole being. I thank Jim for being my friend and one that I can trust. The main thing about all of this is like Jim said, we have to consider each other as a beloved friend and build one another up and encourage leaves a much better taste in my mouth than being nasty.

Besides, I don't like having the Holy Spirit convicting me over rudeness and ill manners. Call me a fuddy duddy but I would rather taste the good things in life for my tummy's sake.

I didn't specifically mean the pro-gay & pro-abortion types would be invited into the Catholic Church since those are two Biblical standards which are strongly upheld. I was just classifying them in the Protestant group who would depart from the Bible as their literal guide & embrace other theology. I should have worded it different.

I've always enjoyed reading Mark Mallett's site but honestly have to mentally jump over the mention of Mary-it's distracting to me-especially when it's one of the first things mentioned. The previous link you posted from him was quite insightful & I believe I mentioned that.

As far as the Sacraments & such-that has more to do with my question of being filled with the Holy Spirit (Both Catholics & non) & the role of the Body of Christ.

There is no hatred, sin, or physical reaction to any of these Catholic traditions. I was trying to have a civil dialogue here-assuming that Mark's end time theology would come to pass. I read beyond what you had posted into a few other subjects & it peaked my curiosity of what you would think about it.

I am the one who would be ostracized here if this does play out which in all reality I think is a pretty good possibility-therefore the reason for my questions.

If the majority of the Christian population did meld into the Catholic Church but a small segment did not- would you or would you not support them as being legitimate Holy Spirit filled Christians? If the Vatican told you they were Apostate for not conforming-would you believe it or would you defend these Christians for standing by their literal belief in the Word of God?

What could be the consequences for those you don't conform?

Like I said-this is a non-issue at the moment. If you rather not answer that's fine.

The only Catholic end time view I'm aware of is the one you have mentioned before & the info I read on Mark's blog but that's the one I see as happening-you just mentioned it is also probable & I agree.

If you can-look at it from my view. I’m really not trying to ruffle up your feathers.

Hi friends,
Wanted to let you know that I got back from my trip (to a house full of ear-infections and now pink eye. UGH! Poor Lauren is scared silly about getting "the pink eye" but Matt is resigned. He just sat on his bed tonight as I was giving him eye drops and said, "Well, I've got it." So sad :-(

Diana, sounds like we had similar weekends. My grandfather's service was much more light-hearted than I had expected and contained a few surprises for my mom. Her maid-of-honor came but they haven't seen each other since the wedding 38 years ago. They had a great visit. Also, (Lisa, this will interest you), a girl who was a neighbor when my mom was about 10 years old came and gave a very powerful testimony. No one was expecting her and frankly, no one recognized her because she was only around for about 3 years, back in the 60s. She told how my grandparents and mom took her under their wing and saved her from the very tyranical and abusive home she lived in (she was raised in a super-strict JW home and was allowed no outside contact with others.) For some reason, she was allowed to spend time with my mom on the farm and considered that a lifesaving outlet for her. She has since come to know Jesus as her Savior and told how the small acts of kindness done 45 years ago stayed with her and kept her from going over the edge. Mom told me later, after she recovered from her shock, that Denise was taken out of the home and put into foster care and never seen again. Mom had totally forgotten about her and never knew the impact she had made. It was so courageous of this lady to speak because her 2 brothers who still live near my grandfather's farm and are still JWs were at the service as well. So not only was she speaking to strangers, she was speaking to her estranged brothers, too. Really makes me wonder (and excited) to think of all the people that have been influenced by our small acts over the years.
I stuck with my plan to give a loving but bold witness as well. It took me many hours of near-agonizing work to find the right words..a balance between truth and sensitivity to the circumstances. I was worried I might back out at the last minute because it was such an overt message, but once I got to the church I had a deep peace and actually had no trouble speaking. Several people thanked me for sharing the good news and one lady told me I had given her the confidence to speak the same message to her own family. That was really rewarding but I was just thankful that I followed the Holy Spirit's nudge (more like He was sitting on me the last week!)

Thanks for all your prayers ahead of time. I felt them in that I felt no fear or worry about what I was doing. Just complete peace during the whole trip.

Blessings,
Jen

Jen,

Wow!! That is such a wonderful outcome! Praise the Lord for such a wonderful result and coming through with all of the courage you needed.

That must have been so wonderful to hear that woman tell how God used your family too.

When I was 9 or 10 we stayed with a lady in my grandmothers neighborhood for a few nights when our family was in total chaos. She was so kind and respectful toward me and I remember her reading Jesus stories at night to us and thinking that she was so excited about Jesus and not knowing why. That kindness was so special to me and God uses those special moments.

Praying for healing and prevention for your little ones.

Jib, Melbourne proper hasn't had smoke problems - praise God. However, the winds are still impacting the affected areas. Why are so many people getting caught in the fires? They can't or don't escape fast enough?

I don't know how to compare the CA wildfire disasters with yours but the loss of life here in comparison was minimal. I figured if our fires went West far enough we would end up seeking refuge in the ocean.

Alf Cengia said...

Lisa, the fires are happening in towns that are located around forests. We had 2 weeks of temps close to 40C followed by a week of 43C+. Then on that Saturday we experienced temps up to 48C. On that day we also had gale-force winds. A lot of the fires are suspected to be caused by arsonists - one guy has already been caught. Most who died never had a chance. They called it a fire storm - the fires sounded like several fighter planes, traveled at high speed and reached heights of 30 to 40 mtrs.

Mac,

I suppose being located in a Forest-you could be surrounded quickly by this fire w/no way out.

We had two what they call "firestorms" as well but our terrain is more desert-like w/steep canyons in which the fire likes to rip through. The winds here at the time were typically 65-75 MPH blowing from east to west-northwest & around 80-90 degrees F.

A note from Moriel Ministries:

we have an urgent prayer request from Marg and our Moriel Australia Team:

PLEASE PRAY FOR US AND THE PEOPLE OF VICTORIA AS WE ARE UNDER SIEGE FROM THE WORST BUSHFIRES IN HISTORY. 48C (118F) degrees with 100 km (62mph) winds. ...

The fires are very close, surrounding some and closing in on others, between 18-25 km (11-15.5 miles) as of Saturday 2/7. North Queensland is also having the worse floods in history.

Please keep Marg and our Australian Moriel Team in prayer and that these tragedies would bring some to call on the name of the LORD and turn to Him for salvation.

well it's far enough away unless you have asthma. the asthmatics down there are having a really tough time. those with copd as well. i know when we had fires a couple of summers ago, which were about 200 miles away, even I with mild asthma had some problems being outside.

we've had a couple of fire bugs out here as well although most of the time it is weather related. I think the last one that formed a fire storm was a few years ago up in the mountains where all the trees are. it charred thousands of acres. fortunately not as populated

I found the commercial funny but disturbing as well. i doubt that someone looking at it without a view of end times things would have found it very disturbing at all. It is a very clever marketing ploy-tongue in cheek look at mass media with the underlying theme that tv has been foisted on us to make our brains mushy for aliens to eat. up to that point I was thinking more of big brother mind control but got a kick out of the whole alien eating your brain thing and tv being equivalent to adolph's meat tenderizer.

it's worse than she realizes. not only will the elderly be the hardest hit so will the very young and those with incurable diseases. no longer will palliative surgery, radiation or chemo be given to extend life in a meaningful way. if you have metastatic cancer you are done for.

the push has actually been on for some time now in medicine-it's called "evidence based medicine" on the surface it sounds really good-treat the diseases the way the best evidence suggests that you should. however there are always outlier patient's and people who respond best to care given "outside the box" if you will. no longer will the developmentally disabled be cared for with routine screening things such as mammos, colonoscopies etc. there has already been a recommendation that women over 70 not have mammos, paps and other things very frequently if at all and no colonoscopies over the age of 80.

on the other side however-I expect an increase in miraculous healings.

there also has been some speculation that if you as a patient continue to be non compliant with life style changes you won't get coverage at all-like consumption of trans fats and too much salt.

Interesting situation arose last week.

I was @ Lorraine's Gym & speaking w/a really nice Asian lady about her daughter now taking Dance lessons from my Daughter's dance teacher.

Lorraine's dance teacher is like an adopted family member to her & a Christian who owns a dance studio in our town.

The Asian lady was praising how Kathie the Dance instructor was involved in the community & I mentioned that she had good moral values & that she was a Christian.

The lady then mentioned that she was Buddhist but that she & Kathie where discussing the book "the Shack" & how they both really liked it. I got the impression that
the Asian lady was finding common ground with a "Christian" book she read & enjoyed.

Then she asked me if I had read it & what I thought about it. Well-I somewhat dodged the question but told her I didn't read it but from what I know about it-I don't agree with how God was portrayed in the book. (I didn't think telling her how I really felt & the reasons behind it was appropriate @ this point.)

So today I feel somewhat sick inside about my Christian friend getting sucked into "the Shack" & I'm printing off some discernment material on it to give her this week.

On the other hand what Satan uses for evil-God can turn into good. So maybe this common ground of "the Shack" book could lead the Buddhist into a discussion about the gospel of Christ.

Unfortunately, I see what the Buddhist liked about the portrayal of God in this book -"that God is in everything". This would appeal to a Buddhist-who is looking for the upcoming Maitryea.

Benjamin Creme-the John the Baptist of Maitrea says in his book:

"But eventually a new world religion will be inaugurated which will be a fusion and synthesis of the approach of the East & the approach of the West. The Christ will bring together, not simple Christianity & Buddhism, but the concept of God transcendent-outside of His creation-and also the concept of God immanent in all creation-in man and all creation."

p 88) "The Reappearance of the Christ & the Masters of Wisdom."

This same theme is in the Purpose Driven Movement which my Pastor from Grace Chapel in TN got sucked into. Both the Shack & Purpose Driven- all tie together because of the New Age philosphies hidden in them.

Marge said...

Lisa,
Something I have come to realize about the New Age movement, is that they are at least thinking about God. Easier to reach than people who aren't interested. A plus there.

I did read, The Shack, to be informed, as many have read the book. Again, it opens the door, to talking about God, and why you are a Chrisitan/believer in Jesus Christ. You have to remember that the first Church (not any denomination, LOL) dealt with many belief systems.

Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. But I would strongly suggest you go with the positive things about the conversation and not so much the negitive. God is still God, and planting good seed is so important when you are dealing with people that are coming from a biased/jaded religious mind set.

Just a thought.

Alesia,
I'm half way thru the book, Sinner.

The 27 Characteristics of the AntiChrist
Know how to recognize the beast and not be swayed into believing that someone is the AntiChrist who doesn't match the biblical characteristics.

1. He comes from among ten kings in the restored Roman Empire; his authority will have similarities to the ancient Babylonians, Persians, and Greeks [Daniel 7:24; Rev 13:2 / Daniel 7:7]
2. He will subdue three kings [Daniel 7:8, 24]
3. He is different from the other kings [Daniel 7:24]
4. He will rise from obscurity…a “little horn” [Daniel 7:8]
5. He will speak boastfully [Daniel 7:8; Rev 13:5]
6. He will blaspheme God, [Daniel 7:25; 11:36; Rev 13:5] slandering His Name, dwelling place, and departed Christians and Old Testament saints [Rev 13:6]
7. He will oppress the saints and be successful for 3 ½ years [Daniel 7:25; Rev 13:7]
8. He will try to change the calendar, perhaps to define a new era, related to himself [Daniel 7:25]
9. He will try to change the laws, perhaps to gain an advantage for his new kingdom and era
[Dan 7:25]
10. He will not be succeeded by another earthly ruler, but by Christ [Daniel 7:26-27]
11. He will confirm a covenant with “many”, i.e. the Jewish people [Daniel 9:27]
This covenant will likely involve the establishment of a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem
[see Dan 9:27; Matt 24:15]
12. He will put an end to Jewish sacrifice and offerings after 3 ½ years and will set up an abomination to God in the Temple [Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15]
13. He will not answer to a higher earthly authority; “He will do as he pleases”[Daniel 11:36]
14. He will show no regard for the religion of his ancestors [Daniel 11:37]
15. He will not believe in any god at all [except for himself] [Daniel 11:37]
16. He will have "no regard for the desire of women": He will either be asexual or homosexual
[Dan 11:37]
17. He will claim to be greater than any god [Daniel 11:37; 2 Thess 2:4]
18. He will claim to be God [2 Thessalonians 2:4]
19. He will only honor a “god” of the military. His whole focus and attention will be on his military. He will conquer lands and distribute them [Daniel 11:39-44]
20. His arrival on the world scene will be accompanied by miracles, signs and wonders [2 Thess 2:9]
21. Either he, or his companion [The False Prophet], will claim to be Christ [Matt 24:21-28]
22. He will claim that Jesus did not come in the flesh, or that Jesus did not rise bodily from the grave [2 John 7]. He will deny that Jesus is the Messiah [I John 2:22]
23. He will be worshipped by many people [Rev. 13:8]
24. He will hate a nation that initially will have some control over his kingdom, but he will destroy this nation [Rev 17:16-18]
25. He will appear to survive a fatal injury [Rev. 13:3; 17:8]
26. His name will be related to the number six hundred and sixty six—but not necessarily in an obvious fashion [Rev 13:17-18].
27. He will be empowered by the devil himself [Rev. 13:2]

WOW! What a night to be thankful to God for. We had some really "different weather" here last night and it got a little more than hairy. Of course, you all know what a group of us believers did prior to the storm. But let me tell you something, God outperformed his self last night. We had plenty of rain but there was nothing else but a little distant thunder. We have found a wonderful tool in the internet called Google Talk and we did a group thing! Got everyone in one accord and all saying and believing that God would put a shield of protection around us all, break apart the storm and weaken it to the place it became ineffective but still provide the moisture that we so desperately needed. HE DID IT ALL! and he did it so graciously! That storm came out of Texas and it was fire engine red with a whole lot of black holes showing up that were huge. That mess was killing people in the Ardmore, Oklahoma area *8 by the last count* and it seemed to be getting stronger as it move our direction. Then wham! The dark red started turning a medium blue and then it turned green on the radar. All of that meant that the blue was breaking apart the storm cell and after that, we had only rain.

God is so good and some of you may be wondering why this would happen and even some of you might get a little provoked because we prayed that God would remove it from us completely. Well, the answer to the first one is the scripture where Jesus told us that all we asked in his name, believing, the Father would do because he (Jesus) was going to be sitting at the Father's right hand, ever interceding for us. You don't ask, you don't need to expect. But if you ask in faith with nothing doubting (wavering) then Jesus said, God would provide it. Please don't get me wrong on this. Everything we ask for should be to glorify God and not ourselves.

We got up this morning and not one tree down, no shingles off of any roofs and like I said, no damages but we did get our rain that we need so very much. To God be the Glory for all the great things he has done.

JIB I really like to read Carolyn Glick's material. I got started reading on her stuff after Mac posted her link on his blog. But that article is a real show stopper and I would love to send Hannity that particular one. Maybe if I pass it on through Greta she will give it to him.

Donna, praying for you sis. I don't believe Livni can swing the formation of a cohesive government but time will tell. In the meantime, All is right in Heaven and God is Still on the Throne.

Have a great day everyone.

Nate, Shalom! and Chill!

I just finished reading the chapter on evolution in "What's So Great About Christianity?" by Dinesh D'Souza. (An EXCELLENT book, BTW -- highly recommended. I also recommend a book he wrote a few years ago called "What's So Great About America?") Part of the problem is that Darwinism as science has been mixed up with Darwinism as atheistic theology. (Is that a contradiction in terms?) Scientific Darwinism has been forced into a theological mold by atheists as a way to explain away the existence of G_D. The RCC teaches that G_D created the Heavens and the Earth. He is the source and cause of everything. In creating the Heavens and the Earth, He established rules about how the planets and the stars move, etc. Darwinism is simply another theory of a mechanism, a set of rules that can be measured and understood, that G_D uses in His creation. It can definitively be shown not only that evolution does occur within phylum, but how it occurs. Now, either there is a mechanism in place by G_D to allow for speciation to move across phylums (dinosaurs evolving into birds) or it happened as a fiat (from the Latin for "Let there be...") from G_D. If it was by fiat, then nothing we can say or do will allow us to understand it. If it happened by a mechanism set up by G_D, then studying it is a good and useful thing, something that can allow us to give glory to G_D.

If you read D'Souza's book, you might be surprised by the number of scientists who are Christian who view their work in this way. Their religious faith has been increased by their science, not diminished. "Intelligent Design" is NOT being promoted at this conference and is being studied only as a fringe movement because, like atheistic Darwinisn, it has been politicized to the extent that the Vatican CAN'T touch it without it being seen as something with world-wide implications. It is, however, basically what I was taught as part of my catechism. In fact, when I first read about "Intelligent Design" as "the Newest Thing", my first reaction was that it something I was taught 30 years ago. It was, however, taught as part of my religious education. Since much of it involves fiats by G_D, there is little in the way of rules or mechanisms that can be discovered through scientific research, so the Vatican isn't directly including it in this conference.

One thing I like about D'Souza's book is that it does provide a logical basis for the existence of G_D, and does it from a scientific view; oftentimes using the words and works of people like Dawkin against them. It's a nice compliment to "Unlocking God's Secrets" by Bob Morely.

Nate,

There was one positive comment in that article: "Creationism remains powerful in the US, however, notably among Protestants, and its followers object to evolution being taught in state schools."

AMEN. At least there is a portion of the Christians standing against the lies of the devil & the pressures of the world to conform to this ridiculous theory.

The problem is that when you're in the educational system & being taught these things since childhood-it really begins to fog up your mind & create doubt. Every museum visited & article written is saturated with this assumed anti-Biblical account of the creation of life.

Someone who's not strong in the Word will begin to doubt if God really literally meant what He said happened. Next thing you know-our sinful nature kicks in & rationalizes that God could have created us anyway He wanted to & that it could have been through this Evolutional theory.

So instead of spending the time seeking God & learning about the scientific support of intelligent design as told in the Bible-we just remain lazy, complacent & compromise our beliefs. I know from personal experience. It's exactly the process my own mind went through.

Praise the Lord when I returned to Him - the haze was cleared up & I came back to me senses. Now I can clearly see this is an area of major spiritual warfare.

I'm afraid this exact theory may have prevented my father from taking his belief in the God of the Bible to committing himself to ever following Christ.

His favorite animal was the Gorilla & enjoyed reading/watching these scientific educational shows.
Unfortunately they were all rooted in Evolution which I believe undermined his trust in how much he should take what the Bible said seriously.

My mother was not as inquisitive as my father & just went along with things.

(My parents are really my grandparents who adopted me when I was a year old. "Mary & Joseph")

Well-you should have just seen her recently when she came out for a visit here last month. I took her to the Creation Museum here & there was a film they showed that rocked her world. (The actual museum part was OK in her mind-but it's the film that did it.)

It's called the "Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution" part 1. She LOVED it & bought the kids part 2 & 3 to take home.

It's as if a light bulb went off in her head a haze lifted. She became interested in reading the Billy Graham book we had. There is a new spark in her eyes. She is at the end of her days now & is thinking more about death. This film had opened her eyes to see that our earthly days really may not be all there is to life & the Bible may be really true. What the "experts" say about us coming from nothing & evolving from apes is a complete lie & not every "expert" believes it.

Unfortunately for my father who I tried to encourage to attend Church when he was first diagnosed w/Alzheimer’s-did not. I was in my backslid state & didn't know what to believe theologically-so I was not much of a witness. Just about the time his brain was too far gone I was saved. I prayed for him & he attended a Bible class at the nursing home but what good could that do w/a mind in such a condition?

He's now in the Lord's hands-wherever it may be. My mom is still here & I pray that she will receive the gift of faith & receive eternal salvation before her days end.

The beginning of this process for her was clearly realizing that the theory of Evolution & Darwin’s theory may in fact be a lie.

Mutation within a species has been observed; Specifically an organisms ability to adapt to environmental changes in order to survive.

Mutation (evolution) outside a species has not and never will be observed. You will never see a cat become a dog, you will never see a cow become a horse, nor will a dragonfly ever become a bird.

The DNA of an organism would have to completely change including chromosomes and that will not happen.

So scientific ideas are not truths until they are proven, until then they are mere theories.

Note below the top definition.com description of religion.

1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Sounds to me that Evolutionist are sounding more and more like a religion.

My take on evolution is really simple.

If everything started out as slim, some made it and some didn't. If instead of slim then Primates, same thing again, some made it and some didn't.

I know I didn't come from slime and I sure don't have any monkey characteristics either but I do have a heavenly father that I call Abba and he said I look just like him, in his image.

Well, now that is enough to shout about. Anyone want to join me.

Lori,

I think what you are describing is called Horizontal Evolution verses Vertical Evolution.

Horizontal change within a "kind" or species has been scientifically observed as in a dog bred with a Wolf makes another type of dog. A Horse bred with a donkey makes a Mule.(Which is sterile.)

But as you say the Vertial change from one "kind" into another species has not nor will ever be observed-at least naturally.

With all this fooling around w/the DNA now-who knows what kinds of strange things could be created.

Jim and Nate; it's not just the Vatican that is getting into this Darwin thing. Go to Answers In Genesis or CMI and read how other Churches (Anglican, Methodist etc) are getting into the act to celebrate Darwin. This is just a big con/PR exercise by the evolutionary atheists to remove God. There is absolutely no proof of transitional species or goo to you evolution. There has never been any mechanism identified that adds extra info to the DNA or genome – man can flap his arms for millions of years and never grow feathers to fly. If the info isn’t already there it just ain’t gonna happen. We should also be careful using the term evolution – evolutionists consider natural selection to be evolution and that does occur.

What is there to celebrate about Darwin’s 200th birthday?

actually when plants and animals develop survival mechanisms it's called adaptation and variation and doesn't involve a change in the genetic code although it may involve switching certain segments on or off but does not involve additions or deletions. certain traits can be bred for such as color, scent, ong or short fur, small or large but the organism remains a variant of what it started out as.

mutations on the other hand do involve a change in the genetic code, deletion or additions, and there are no beneficial mutations. most mutations lead to the death of the organism in question. cancer as the main example involves change to the genetic code for some normal body function or part-no one would ever call cancer benefical.

God created by fiat, the Bible says so. Does he allow for diversity-yes but as was said it is a variation on the same theme. dogs stay within the dog family they don't suddently become something else

from one of the links Mac provided

"In short,

Evolutionary theory requires some mutations to go ‘uphill’—to add information.
The mutations which we observe are generally neutral (they don’t change the information, or the ‘meaning’ in the code) or else they are informationally downhill—defects which lose/corrupt information.
The rare ‘beneficial’ mutations to which evolutionists cling, all appear to be like this wingless beetle—downhill changes, losses of information which, though they may give a survival advantage, are headed in precisely the wrong direction for evolution. "

The question was raised, "What is there to celebrate about Darwin’s 200th birthday?" Well, I can think of one thing--His child production ability has been shut down permanently.

Lisa, I will do my bit to help the world population not to grow anymore but you will have to talk to my grandkids about their pledges but, I am not giving out their names or addresses. hehehehehe

Joel has a new comment about the elections in Israel. He has some interesting things to add to the material that the secular press has said.
JIB, that is really good info regarding the species and the truth about evol--- well, you know! That thing we are not part of.

ALESIA, it is about time you got home and I have missed you greatly. I was afraid your were over in OZ helping to fight the fires with Mac and Mr. Hide.

I am still celebrating our protection last night and the longer the day, the more I rejoice. This particular passage keeps going through me and I have to share it with you all:

I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalms 121

Isn't that beautiful and so powerful a promise to know that God is not out to destroy us but to keep watch over us because we are precious in His sight. What a Father!

"How Important is Genesis 1-3?"

Here's an excerpt from the article...

"...a biblical understanding of the creation and fall of humanity establishes the necessary foundation for the Christian world-view. Everything Scripture teaches about sin and redemption assumes the literal truth of the first three chapters of Genesis. If we wobble to any degree on the truth of this passage, we undermine the very foundations of our faith.

If Genesis 1-3 doesn't tell us the truth, why should we believe anything else in the Bible? Without a right understanding of our origin, we have no way to understand anything about our spiritual existence. We cannot know our purpose, and we cannot be certain of our destiny. After all, if God is not the Creator, then maybe He's not the Redeemer either. If we cannot believe the opening chapters of Scripture, how can we be certain of anything the Bible says?"

I think I'm going to search out that Perry Stone dream CD now.

I had a real dozy last night & I'm not sure if it’s supposed to convey anything-but it's one of those that makes you wonder.

I was having a regular dream-spiritually based when it transformed into a really bizarre experience. The point where is changed is when I was going home to my house but when I opened up the door I was in another world/place.

As I walked in the door what I saw was a vibrant/detailed/full color view of an interior of a Palace type residence. (I can't even describe the detail in the furnishings & architecture. There were transform windows w/a view to the outside ahead (blue sky was visible) & light was streaming in creating shadows.

I knew I was being summoned by someone but I had my back up near the entry wall looking around & wasn't so sure what was going on.

This satin toned golden armored knight appeared and came to me with an outstretched hand & asked me telepahtically if I would like some assistance to where I needed to go. (I only viewed it from the waist up.) I accepted the invitation & placed my hand it its hand.

It guided me through the entry area and down a hallway where it left me with a bald man who had tan/reddish skin. (I now only saw his upper chest face area.) I sensed an evil presence from him & looking beyond him I saw another man further down the hall who was reclining on some cushions. He had a Johnny Depp look. Thin build w/jet black hair & powder white skin. He was far away so I didn't see much detail.

The bald guy looked at me and asked telepathically: "Do you REALLY want to know what he thinks about you?" I looked up & said a short prayer in tongues to God then looked him in the eyes & said "I HATE Satan!"

At that exact second I woke up & found my cat's head all snuggled up to my cheek. It was quite comforting to say the least.

The story line is weird/disturbing but it's the visible clarity & the detail of the Palace that is not the norm for my typical dreams. Also I was not communicating by neither speaking-nor walking w/a gait but gliding about. Certainly different-anyway.

The Mustang Sculpture @ the Denver Airport From a blogger named Joe: "Here’s a few off the beaten path….Has anyone seen the piece of art/ blue horse that is located at the Denver International Airport? When I saw the photo of the art, it reminded me of the scripture that speaks of the “pale horse” and for some reason I associated our economy and what the result might be as I contemplated the physical representation of the horse art. The article on FoxSnoooze tells of the people reactions as unusual to say the least.

Even more bizarre is the artist was killed by a portion of the 9,000 lb. art falling on him."
Fox News story on it

Jim C. You might like this- Joe's dreams:

Also, I just remembered a dream that I had a few weeks ago. In the dream you must envisioned the Jewish people in a fort like structure made of a color like the sand. They were locked inside. The structure was opened to the blue sky like a fort would be. This place was packed from ground to top edge with the Jewish people. They were all wearing very colorful clothing and the clothing was like the ones I would imagine worn 2,000 years ago. I was inside, standing on the ground looking up and seeing huge flames engulfing it and coming over top I knew that death was eminent. Suddenly, after our prayers went up, the flames stopped, the door fell open. Everyone left out with no harm whatsoever. Outside in the sand, I saw bodies scattered all around that had been killed by a sword. (No one spoke, it was as if I just knew it.) I knew that God-Yeshua had protected us in this and defeated the enemy in his judgment.

Years ago, I had a shorter dream. In that dream, while looking up at a dark sky, a lion was floating across from left to right(like a parade.) Inside this lion, I could see a lamb. At that moment, I thought, “It has begun, the time of the end is coming and the lion of Judah is on it’s way.” I could see the lamb inside the lion like you could see a baby on a sonogram.

Lisa, did you eat pizza late that night? I'm sorry but I just had to ask that.

Kathy, you are right about trusting the Whole of God's word. Man is the one who is the liar and not God so it is an easy decision for me to make. God said, I believe it, and that's that. Even men who are sincere Christians, writing books and preaching, can be sincerely wrong about their interpretation of scripture.

For example, one well known evangelist, wrote a book about the the scrolls that deal with the second coming of the Messiah. In it, he is trying to explain why Noah waited 7 days before he shut the door of the ark. Here is some of what he wrote: "The ark was completed, the animals were inside, and the door was ready to close. God told Noah He would restrict the flood for seven days. For years, I assumed the Almighty wanted to keep the door open, allowing last minute skeptics an opportunity to repent and run to safety. However, Methuselah died the same year the flood erupted!
In early history, the Hebrews would traditionally mourn seven days after the death of a loved one. (Genesis 50:10). In the Law of Moses, if someone touched a dead carcass, he needed seven days to purify himself (Num. 19:16).
These additional seven days gave Noah time to bury his righteous great-grandfather, Methuselah, and spend seven days in the required purification and mourning. It also enabled him to ensure that all the animals God required were in the ark (Gen. 7:1-4)

Not until yesterday, while reading this book passage over again, did I receive an insight into what was troubling me. Noah was before the Law and Noah's people were not called Hebrews. That didn't come until Moses and the Ten Commandments. Moses wrote Genesis but that was way after Noah and the next one on the scene was Abraham. So, where did this author come up with the idea that the 7 days were used in fulfilling the required days of mourning when there were no established laws at the time?

Anyone with some insight into the questions, I would love to hear your take on it. We discussed the ark and Noah several postings past but that question and that scene just will not go away and I have more questions now than I had before.

As I was reading that passage in the book, I kept going back to the same page and the same account and it wouldn't stop bothering me until yesterday when I realized the comments didn't line up with the facts. Really disappointed me because I had trusted this person to be a man of much searching and learning.

Well, good night everyone and have a wonderful day, night and rest of the week in the Lord. Keep your eyes on the prize of the race and your armor polished and on at all times.

Grany, just because it occurred before Moses does not mean it wasn't a legitimate ritual. I'm sure a lot of Israel's rituals and laws were extensions of what was required by God before the "Law" was given to Moses. Note the tithing to Melchisedec, for example.

Wayne said...

Grany:

you are right about the law and Noah. This sort of thing happens when one reads their thots into the text instead of letting the text speak for itself. On the other hand, we do not know when the tradition of 7 days of mourning started. I'm sure it was long before Moses. Both Abe and Job speak about keeping God's commandments, even tho they were not codified yet.

the theory may be good, but the extra effort to support it weakens the theory. Also, we know that Methusulah died the year of the flood, but we have no idea if it was at the beginning of that seven day period.

The simple reading of the text is that God waited seven days after all was ready in hopes that the suspense and the miraculous would cause some to change their minds and enter the ark. Or perhaps, he had to make sure the cats behaved. Some might have been thrown out because they were scratching the furniture and others brought in.

This Friday I will be speaking at a valentines banquet to many non-christian youth, and I feel a strong urge to call people to God. I will also be doing a bit of reading into Scripture as I will tell the story of Bathsheba as the neglected young wife who makes a bad choice and messes up a whole lot of lives. (hopefully not too much). Her story is also about redemption and forgiveness and finding peace and God's blessing.

How to tell the story without making it seem alright to sin, yet emphasizing God's forgiveness. Hopefully the Christianized people will not spend the whole time saying "but". This is also my introduction to the community as well.

Thanks for your prayers for me.

On a different line, It is very interesting to see the massive discovery of natural gas that Israel has discovered offshore.

Russia has spent soooo much time and effort to control all of the natural gas that flows out of their region and the "stans" to Europe. The attack on Georgia was primarily for this reason, and the conflict with Ukraine was also to gain better control of the gas transit system. Now there is the probability that Israel will soon be able to export gas to Europe in sufficient quantities to weaken Russia's stranglehold on Europe.

Will Russia take steps to ensure that Israel cannot mess with their monopoly?

We will wait and see.

Wilma,

The last statement in that article is powerful...

"Scripture is not merely the best of several possible explanations. It is the Word of God."

We must measure all teaching against Scripture. God's Word has the final say - because it is Truth.

Psalm 119:160 - "The sum of Thy Word is truth."

Wayne, Shalom! Some thoughts...

(pausing to allow everyone to run in terror...)

One thing that isn't obvious in the the story of Bathsheba is that David already knew Bathsheba. 2 Sam 11:3 says, "She is Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam, and wife of (Joab's armor-bearer) Uriah the Hittite." In 2 Sam 23 we find that Joab's brother Abishai was the head of the Thirty (the King's guard), and that both Eliam and Uriah were members of the Thirty. To me it's clear that David would have known Bathsheba and she would have known him when she was younger. So it wasn't simply a case of the King calling some pretty young thing in off the street.

As a counterpoint to Bathsheba, you can talk about Tobiah and Sarah, from the Book of Tobit. Tobit suffered the loss of his job, loss of prestige, and eventually the loss of his sight. Yet, in the end, Tobit's sight is restored, not directly through the intervention of G_D, but through his son, Tobiah. (Our prayers are not answered in the way we want, but in the way that will bring glory to G_D.) Tobiah, in turn, rather than immediately going to bed with his wife on their wedding night, had her pray with him saying, "Now, Lord, you know that I take this wife of mine not because of lust, but for a noble purpose. Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age." (Tobit 8:7)

Good God's morning to all who are up at this hour. I was awakened very early this morning (before 5 a.m.) and I am trying very hard to be quiet so hubby can sleep. He is really needing everyone's prayers.

When I awoke the first thing on my mind was the country, the Body of Christ, and the soon coming of Jesus Christ. I tried to go back to sleep but it was a no show and I refuse to let my mind wander off into the mine fields of what ifs. But then as I became fully awake, I wanted to check out any responses to my question of last night.

Wayne and Mac I thank you very much for your input. Kathy too! I know that we assume there were customs in Abraham's day and we know for a fact that God did instruct Adam but Eve messed up big time. Then the world was destroyed except for the family of Noah and the ark full of animals.

So the slate was wiped clean, so to speak, and yet they still didn't do it just right. Wayne, I think the whole thing is assuming too and nothing against the author of the book, because I know he loves God and he serves him with all of his heart. My contest is also with the assumption and not with the data supplied in God's word. I know I am a stickler and I can promise you that I will probably always be.

Mac, you are right about Abraham's encounter with Melchizedek because that does show that there were already priests in Jerusalem. Oh, boy, is that a can of worms for debate.

I will keep digging (you know I will) and in the mean time, I am praying for you Wayne. In fact, my intercession for you is not of myself but is always brought to me by the Holy Spirit. During your ordeal with your health situation, there were very few times that you were not being lifted up before God's Throne. It makes me weep just remembering that time. It is a joy to pray for you now because I know it is being heard.

I think that hook is just about to get planted big time in Gog's jaw and it is in relationship to the gas. You know that gas is a natural resource and natural resources never occur in single elements but have all manner of mineral created depositing close by. Read between the lines JIM C.

You could approach David and Bathsheba as the picture not often considered: Why was she on the roof, in plain sight of King David, stripping of all her coverings and going through the ritual of total body bathing? Did she set out to capture the imagination of the King? Was it just as much her enticing David as it was David looking? The last question I will pose for this scene: Why wasn't there a screen of modesty erected to prevent anyone from observing her if she was so innocent and had to bath on the roof top?

Now you know why hubby doesn't want me to get up too early any more. Questions, questions, and more questions.

Everyone, have a great day in the Lord and know that "this is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it".

Nighty night Mr. Hyde and Mac, you too Wayne.

There are interesting articles about droughts through out the world in the major food producing areas, so food shortages are a very real threat. What with floods, earth quakes, pestilences, wars and rumours of wars one would think we are far from the END??

We just got to hang in there and keep looking up to our Lord and Saviour!

Adi had her latest test and is still cancer free, so more thanks and praise to be given.

We are having spiritual warfare attacks, so please pray for us. Loads of testing going on but we are cling to out Lord!

Wayne - praying for you on Friday, may you have a spirit filled day and give an awesome message!

To all others, keep on keeping on.

Keeping you and your family in my prayers and standing in agreement with you against the spiritual attacks. Bind and loosen according to God's word Jeri and don't give a millisecond of an inch. Nada!

That is a wonderful report on Adi and I know it increases the joy you both have. Probably one of the major reasons for the attacks my friend. Like my friend Marge tells me, give the devil the boot and rejoice in the provisions that God has given you. That always makes the devil mad.

We went to the food club the other day and the price increases about stopped us in our tracks. Flour, all things with wheat in them, just plain staples like milk, butter, eggs, and fruit are making us shudder. What used to cost us $30 is now running the tab up to $60 and $70 and the end isn't even in sight. Living through a drought really is not a pleasant thing and my heart is with you too.

I wonder if we could all get out our shofar and united in one big blast, would that help Abba to tell his Son to "go get your bride" sooner? I wish!

Anyway, I wanted you to know I was thinking of you and also, Anne from SA and Thuunda from SA, just keep crossing my mind all of the time. I need to hear from them too. Jeri, from the sound of things coming out of the Middle East and Russia, Africa is the next big target. Please keep yourself covered with prayer and praise. I am praying for all of you too.

I got to pondering on the David/Bathsheba account. I've been reading in the Psalms as of late. One of my favorites is Psalm 16. In verse 16 David says "I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices."

It's when we take our eyes off of the Lord that gets us into trouble. David took His eyes off the Lord and placed them on Bathsheba. Instead of turning them away when he first saw her, he let them linger there. That is what got him into trouble! Bathsheba got herself into trouble when she did not turn away David's advances. We all have been guilty of taking our eyes off the Lord...when we do this, we put ourselves on shaky ground and we lose our joy.

Praise God that His grace includes His Holy Spirit that convicts us of our sin and woos us back into a right relationship with Him!

David in Psalm 51, after Nathan came to him regarding Bathsheba, asks the Lord to create in him a clean heart and to restore the joy of His salvation. The joy of his salvation was restored but he continued to reap the consequences of his sin. My thoughts then went to Gal. 6:7 - "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap."

We all experience forgiveness and cleansing and renewal when we confess our sins, but like David, we will continue to reap the earthly heartaches for the pains of our sins. God’s law of cause and effect still works in the lives of His children.

Oh that we would always keep our eyes on Him! It's a choice we make and we and those around us suffer when we don't.

URGENT PRAYER - RAY'S DAD & MOM

I just got a call a few hours ago.

My dad was taken to the hospital around 3:00 AM last night suffering from a broken hip. While they were checking him over, they discovered that he is now diabetic. He complained of breathing problems and they also discovered a spot on his lung.

Jack is my step dad and he does not know the Lord.

We are rushing around here like crazy so that I can get up there and help my mom.

While I am up there please pray that the Lord opens doors for my dad to really hear the gospel. We have talked in the past, but it was like talking to a brick wall.

To top all of this off, this is a short month for us here and I have been doing some side things to bring in some extra, now I will not be able to do this.

This is the worst time ever that this could happen.

Folks, I feel like my plate just got loaded to the Max and then 500lbs was added on top of that. I have huge concerns here and huge concerns there.

We really need your prayers.

If you are able to help us with the shortfall this month, please use the following link
PROPHEZINE

I will keep you posted as to the progress, I will be taking my laptop.

I heard from him this morning and a friend near where Ray lives, loaned him a truck to drive to his parents place. He is now at his mothers but has not been able to get to the hospital due to things needing his attention at her home.

I dread the thought of "church shopping" again and it just makes me so tired just to think about trying to find a church. I know that we need the fellowship though and I am desperate to share our lives with a people who love the Lord too. We have a huge abundance or churches here to choose from but I don't want to do the choosing, I want the Lord to. I am asking Him to please send someone to invite us to their gathering, then I will know where we are supposed to go. This is just something that the Lord needs to completely take care of cause I am at a loss and am very weary of "doing church". Please pray with me. I love the Lord very mcuh and just want to really do what He wants.
Overcomer (Kathy? I have forgotten names!) I agree. Please Lord, help us to keep our eyes on you and not to think more highly of ourselves than we should lest we fall.
In Love,
Diana

this whole emr thing is going to be a nightmare. just ask Nate as he is working on an install of the product we use at our hospital. It is going to be very $$$ for doctors to do if they are by themselves (as I am) and even if in a group it ain't cheap because generally you have to purchase a separate license for each provider. the whole key is "gov't approved". so do I buy now and risk getting one that won't be government approved because it is a less well known company but is way less $$, do I update the partial system that I have now to the tune of 30K, do I buy an whole different system. the thing is that all these systems are supposed to talk together and right now it's all proprietary software which can't be made to talk to each other. so if the feds decide that they want all docs to have brand x and that's not the one I choose well then I've spent my current money for nothing and will have to start all over again. rural areas are going to be hardest hit. docs will go out of practice because they can't afford the gov't mandated system and since the gov't has a history of giving docs and hospitals unfunded mandates I don't look for them to help any of us out. which means that rural areas will be without docs and have to drive perhaps longer than they do now. I currently have patients that drive over 2 hours to come to an office appointment but again I am a specialist. I think they have one practitioner who does primary care.

the other thing that will happen is an increase in mid level providers-nurse practitioners, pa's etc. ad they are less $$ to pay and one ca train them faster. I help train pa's so I'm not biased against but seriously, if you could train someone to do all of what most doctors do in 2 years don't you think we'd be doing it? they'll have a tougher time replacing specialists. family practice, internal medicine and pediatrics are not the specialties to be going into at this moment in time. ER docs might be at risk also.

as to the data being shared well that's a two edged sword. don't think for a minute that the current privacy laws are going to protect you at all.

the bigger problem is what happens to folks who are making life style choices which lead to disease-trust me, they won't be taken care of. If you are currently overweight, have bad cholesterol etc and aren't actually doing what your doctor tells you, under the new provisions you will be in big trouble. I suspect you'll be fined at the very least or have to pay more because you are a burden on the system. For those docs who want to do more for their patients than the feds deem necessary or needed-we'll be fined, tossed out of business or put in jail.

it's a brave new world that is a coming.

Jeri, be thankful you are in SA, Our bread here is costing around $2.75 to $3.50+, milk is easily at $3.50 and flour, well we won't go there. What used to cost me $1.75 or even $2.00 for five pounds is now way over the double and looks to be heading even higher. Back last summer I did something that really made my hubby and kids laugh. I bought a huge 25 pounds of flour before the price went sky high and packed it in storage cans with sealed lids. The man who does this around here vacuum seals it and I have used 5 pounds of it already and it is still just as fresh as when I bought it. I put it in 5 pound cans so it was easier to handle. We have found that you can mix other flours with the wheat and have wonderful texture, taste and food value in doing so. When hubby was on a wheat and gluten free diet in the mid 80's I had to come up with a whole lot of substitutes and no one knew the difference. We used potato starch, millet, soy flour, buckwheat, and others that I can't remember right now. But it can be done. Eggs can be separated and frozen plus you can use chicken, turkey, goose, and emu eggs. You haven't really tasted a wonderful Angel Food cake until it is made with Turkey eggs. So, all of those things can be done but you have to start figuring it all out early in the game or it will overwhelm you.

KATHY, I love Psalms 16 also and there are so many wonderful books written discussing the meanings and sayings of different books of the Bible. However, there is a natural beauty and ease of understanding the Psalms. The 16th is especially comforting to me and the next one I love is the 34th and 91st.

I just have to post the 16th here for everyone. I know you can go read it on the net but something about posting at the cave seems to strengthen our group more.

Psalm 16
Michtam of David.

1 Preserve me, O God; for in thee do I take refuge.
2 O my soul, thou hast said unto Jehovah, Thou art my Lord:I have no good beyond thee.
3 As for the saints that are in the earth, They are the excellent in whom is all my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that give gifts for another god:Their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, Nor take their names upon my lips.
5 Jehovah is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: Thou maintainest my lot.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; Yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7 I will bless Jehovah, who hath given me counsel; Yea, my heart instructeth me in the night seasons.
8 I have set Jehovah always before me:
Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth; My flesh also shall dwell in safety.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt show me the path of life:
In thy presence is fulness of joy;
In thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Those are some pretty powerful promises there and considering that the Holy Spirit breathed them into David, that makes it even greater.

While everyone is talking about food, I want to bring up Angelfoodministries.com again.

I just placed my food order for Feb. 28th pickup. It cost $124 for what I ordered and included 30 lbs of meat products... all which are individually packaged in freezer plastic.

This also included many staple items and a large box full of fruits and vegis.

The icing on the cake, drive'thru pickup and all the produce and meat is from the good old US of A!

(I am not a paid advertiser, nor do I work for Angelfoodministries)

I just love to reduce our living expenses.

Kathy, really great insight on sin & future consequences.

Grany, No pizza but last nights dreams went back to normal.Whew.

You had to remind me of Noah's Ark? I'm still waiting for my answer from God & wonder if it's going to come in the next age. I had asked the lady at ICR the Creation Museum here a month ago about the door of the Ark. Did she think it was shut for the 7 days or open? (I had originally thought is was shut until we had the discussion here. Now I'm undecided.) Well-she thinks & teaches that it was shut for the 7 days but didn't give me any definitive reasoning why. So in limbo I remain.

Diana,

Agreeing with you in the request that God would send someone/somehow your way to guide you to the right Church. (Just be sure to test it - just in case it's the Devil setting you up 1st. He's been on my case hard lately & working through my D.H.)

Speaking of being tested through a loved one. Doesn't the Devil know that I will not be moved one inch from my faith w/this nonsense? In fact it's so blatant that all it does is cause me to seek Him out all the more. Other than just being a source of irritation-it doesn't do a whole lot. Well maybe it to attempt to frustrate me with D.H. to the point of causing some type of outburst.

Oh well. The devil's too late for that because the Spirit already got a hold of me & snuffed out that predisposed attribute.

Jib, since you’re a D.r. have you ever thought about how the Holy Spirit changes the connections in our minds so that we don't have the same reactions & thoughts that we once had? It's truly supernatural. I wonder if God zaps some of the connections in our brains which reverse the former disposition to sin in those particular areas.

For example. Someone who has a smoking/drinking/drug stronghold. God can deliver them in an instant to never have the craving for those things again. He can do that with any of our sinful tendencies.

Now for the Perry Stone report.

The sermon was about:
Our will/God's Plan/Satan's Plan

How the adversary works? Through testing & temptations. God's test is to take the junk out of us. The Devil's test is to put that junk back in us.

We are often tested through loved ones & friends.

He put tests into three categories.
Common-fear,doubt,unbelief.
Seasonal- testings come in cycles.
Hour of testing- major/traumatic.

What he was really encouraging is that Christ has overcome the Devil & not to fear him. God has our days numbered & if it's not your time to die then you're not going anywhere.

The plane can go down, the car can crash, you can be in a terror or any situation but if God has not yet opened the gate to heaven for you then Satan can try to snuff you out but you're not leaving this planet.

God's in full control.

He gave the example of John the Baptist who was promised to see the Kingdom of Heaven before he died. The people around him thought that it meant Jesus would come back for the Church before John died. They became discouraged as John aged & nothing happened.

Satan, through a bad king even tried to kill John by boiling him in a pot of scalding oil but God didn't allow him to die. He was miraculously spared from death.

He went on to be imprisoned on the Isle of Patmos. That you know is where he wrote the book of Revelation. In doing so John saw the Kingdom of Heaven before he died.

ISAIAH 26:19-21 & 27:1

Your dead shall live; together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake & sing, you who dwell in the dust;for your dew is like the dew of the herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Come, my people, enter your chambers, And shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, Until the indignation is past.

For behold, the LORD comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth will disclose her blood, and will no more cover her slain.

In that day the LORD will His severe sword, great and strong, will punish Levithan the fleeing serpent, Levithan that twisted serpent; and He will slay the reptile that is in the sea.

(Before all this in 26:15 it says "You have increased the nation, O LORD, You have increased; You are glorified; You have expanded all the borders of the land." A hint of Gog/Magog?)

Isaiah 34 speaks of pitch (oil)in verse 9. Its streams shall be turned into pitch & its dust into brimstone; Its land shall become burning pitch. Its smoke shall ascend forever...(Edom & Bozrah)

It sure is interesting about the resouces found in Israel just as Joel Rosenburg had previously stated. And as was brought up here-Russia & the ME monopoly on oil. Now we wait & see if this is the hook for them to attack.

Isaiah 44:6

"Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:

'I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set in in order for Me,since I appointed the ancient people.

And the things that are coming and shall come, let them show these to them. Do now fear, nor be afraid; Have I not told you from that time, and declared it?

You are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.'

LISA, glad your dreaming is back to normal.

I found this rather intersting in Strong's Hebrew Dictionary: The word "pitch" is numbered by Strongs as 3724. And the Hebrew root word is kaphar. The exact word used in Geneses and Isiah is kopher (ko'-fer)

From kaphar; properly, a cover, i.e. (literally) a village (as covered in); (specifically) bitumen (as used for coating), and the henna plant (as used for dyeing); figuratively, a redemption-price -- bribe, camphire, pitch, ransom, satisfaction, sum of money, village. see HEBREW kaphar.
Now the word bitumen is really interesting: Bitumen is a mixture of organic liquids that are highly viscous, black, sticky, entirely soluble in carbon disulfide, and composed primarily of highly condensed polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Naturally occurring or crude bitumen is a sticky, tar-like form of petroleum which is so thick and heavy that it must be heated or diluted before it will flow. At room temperature, it is much like cold molasses. Refined bitumen is the residual (bottom) fraction obtained by fractional distillation of crude oil. It is the heaviest fraction and the one with the highest boiling point, boiling at 525 °C (977 °F).

In British English, the word 'asphalt' refers to a mixture of mineral aggregate and bitumen (or tarmac in common parlance). The word 'tar' refers to the black viscous material obtained from the destructive distillation of coal and is chemically distinct from bitumen. In American English, bitumen is referred to as 'asphalt' or 'asphalt cement' in engineering jargon. In Australian English, bitumen is sometimes used as the generic term for road surfaces. In Canadian English, the word bitumen is used to refer to the vast Canadian deposits of extremely heavy crude oil, while asphalt is used for the oil refinery product used to pave roads and manufacture roof shingles. Diluted bitumen (diluted with naphtha to make it flow in pipelines) is known as dilbit in the Canadian petroleum industry, while bitumen upgraded to synthetic crude oil is known as syncrude and syncrude blended with bitumen as synbit.

Now, would someone please tell me what that all means except, the streams were turned to black goo! See it didn't take near as many words to say that.

Mac,

I read the article at World Net Daily. In our ladies Bible study today we listened to a CD of John MacArthur. The message was titled "Defending the Biblical Account of Creation." John made these comments and I agree with him. "Science makes no contribution to creation. Creation was a supernatural event and cannot be explained by science. All science is based on observation. Creation was not observed and it cannot be repeated. That leaves us then with a test. Do you believe Scripture? Do you believe Scripture to be authoritative? Gen. 1 is the first test. You either believe Gen. 1 or you don’t. The issue is fidelity."

If Scripture is true than you not only get a Creator, you also get a Lawgiver and a Judge. I thought then of the article at WND and of those evolutionists statements...hmm.

And, remember to keep your eyes on Jesus, and not people.

I've come to find out, that under spiritual attack, the devil/evil cohorts absoltely hate worship and praise. So, keep worship/praise to God, coming out of your mouth, and out of your stero, too :) Blast the enmey with as much worship and praise as you can! As one Bible Teacher said, "Praise/worship keeps the devil on the run...and you'll have so much fun!" Okay, it's a little corny, but easy to remember! And best of all? It works! Plus it makes you happy all over! It renews the "joy of the Lord," a person, as a huge bonus!

I had the chance to talk w/my friends about "the Shack." One of them mentioned that she when she bought the book from the Christian bookstore the clerk actually asked her why she was purchasing the book.

She told the clerk that a couple Christian friends highly recommended it. He then replied that they probably weren't real Christians then.

So then she said as she was reading it-that comment was in the back of her mind. The fact was something about the book just didn't sit right with her & when she got to some point where Jesus was in a cave that she couldn't read on any further. Meanwhile the book is still sitting there & she's read six others since. For some reason she can't get herself to finish it.

Then when I got a hold of my friend who was enthusiastic about the book. She told me that for her it answered the question really well of why bad things happen to good people.

It turned out to be a nice chat & I left them w/some discernment material on how the New Age theme is woven throughout the book.

Then I had the opportunity to pass out the "American Jesus" sermon to two college students @ the dance studio & talk with another Christian friend about reconciling w/her husband.

This was a busy day!

I guess my day hadn't finished yet.

I went to Lorraine's gym class this evening & sat down w/Melanie to watch when she said "What's that language?"

I said I didn't know-haven't really been paying attention. So I turned around to listen to her speak to her children then said to her my daughter was inquiring about her language. When she told me it was Hebrew that immediately perked me right up.

She's from Israel & has lived here five years. Her children are 2 & 4.
She was really sweet & has a nice matter about her.

We chatted about Israel & that I'm a S.D. native & a few things but her kids were getting fussy & ready to leave.

It was clear that if all the fuss was not going on that she wanted to chat further & asked me when I come to the gym to which I mentioned every Thursday. This was her 1st try out for her daughter so I hope she signed her up & I'll see her again next week.

She would be leaving as I am coming but who knows. There was something about that whole situation that seemed to be more than a mere coincidence.

Then on the way home Lorraine who knows absolutely about that video I posted brings up that she's seen this commercial about "Hulu" which has this alien on it eating up brains. It reminds her of the devil & is scary. Unbeknownst to me she says it's on all the time-especially during American Idol which she watched w/Grandma & Dad.

If I wasn't married to Mr.TV set I would get rid of the lot of them.
Who knows what's really being pumped into your brain through some of these shows now a days.

Lori, got my email message to my representative and now I am going to follow it through with email messages to all of the other representatives in the House of Representatives. Feels good to put some teeth to my elected officials rear end.
Your comment about "when good people do nothing," really hit squarely at the matter.

Now this is to all of you, and I hope you will take it to heart before it is too late.

You know my young adult life was just beginning in the days of Eisenhower' presidency and from that point on, the pressure grew greater and greater towards apathy and liberalism. I worked very hard in the electoral process in Missouri during those years and not until we organized the fairly new Jaycees did we start getting the Good Ole Boy system over hauled on a State level. It was work and it was exhausting but it was well worth it. However, getting the mind set of people to change is a whole lot harder and everyone seems to hold on to the Great White Knight in Shining Armor idea when it comes to Government taking care of us. Something needs to get done to rid us of all that dependence and one of the big lessons for this administration is going to be the realization that all of this is just pouring sand in a gopher hole. That article I linked to on Glenn's piece pretty well tells us that this was and is far more serious than we have any way of knowing. So counting on government is a trap but we are all being swept along in a tidal wave that is more like a Tsunami of gigantic portions.

Once the Unemployment Funds are depleted, who is going to take up the mantle of providing all of these jobless people income? Some of you may be thinking that will never happen and to that I say "Baloney". FICA funds are deducted from every worker's wages and that coupled with the employer's part of the payment, is what pays for the whole mess. If we have already lost over 3 million jobs in the USA, no funds are being witheld from those workers. That Federal Fund is supposed to be protected but our precious elected Federal representatives rob the fund to pay Peter, Paul, and Chan. In other words, they use those funds to finance other projects. Check it out and see. Like illegals receiving money's from the fund when they are not citizens and have never paid anything into it. All of your social security and medicare, the same thing.

Who is going to be sure these big corporations and banks repay these funds they have received over and over again, or even that they use them for the purpose that they were intended? Politicians! Oh, God help us.

Now, if you are a citizen and paying taxes, own or are faithfully paying your mortgages off and employed, how are you going to keep going that when the Federal Government is going to allow employers the legal right to fire you and hire an illegal to fill your place in the work market?

What about the building industry? Illegals are being given preferred jobs in the industry in the area that I live in and especially in the Bentonville, Arkansas area. Same in a lot of the jobs that come available. Why? Because they will work! Because they don't usually join unions and because they don't demand or get high paying jobs. It isn't just here, it is even in the little community where my son and grandkids live. No one is checking out their citizenship and no one cares except the citizens of this country who are out of work and need to take care of their families.

Who cares? Not the politicans and my whole point is very simple: Quit putting the Government in the drivers seat and work to make this country what it has been in the past. Quit the sniveling and take up pen/paper, mouse and keyboard, or cellphone and text message your elected officials that enough is enough and you are going to work your tail off to put a stop to it. Fire them and send them packing; put illegals in their positions and see how they like it. NO, just kidding.

But by all means, quit lowering yourself to speaking their language. Black is black and white is white so state it and make it clear that you mean business. Before you reach the age of 72 and are considered fodder for the flesh heap. I am over 72 and I feel just as strongly now as I did when I was fighting voting corruption in Missouri a few decades ago. That was like 40 to 50 years ago.

Now, go get 'em!

I sent a message to a rabbi at Aish asking him about the Geneses 30 passage that I was concerned with regarding Noah and the seven days. I received a reply today and I want to post it here so you can read what he has responded.

"Shalom --

Thank you for your note and your kind sentiments.

I believe that a more correct reading of the verses is that God announced the imminent arrival of the flood - in another seven days - and after those seven days the rains began and
Noah entered the ark. God "postponed" the rains to allow for the mourning week of Methuselah.

Many of the laws, for example the idea of mourning and the purification process, are mandated in the Bible, Other laws are customs and/or rabbinic enactments (for example the
requirement to have a simple burial) and were legislated later.

Shalom and blessings from Jerusalem,

Rabbi M. Younger
Aish.com"

Now that does make more sense but my main question is still, how and when were the laws for mourning initiated. Well like Lisa said, we will have to wait until we get to the welcoming room with Jesus to learn the answer completely.

I feel better anyway and I will TRY to put the other questions to rest or at least hide them in a cave somewhere else.

But lately the LORD has been helping me to see that I need to depend on Him entirely. He is my source for everything. Our government has been in terrible shape for a long time, and it is going to get a lot worse. But we, the Bride of Christ, will not be here much longer. Kelly,

I can relate to the same impression.

The Govt. is so blatantly corrupt & so bad it's almost a joke. It's as if I see one of those old fashioned hour glasses & the sand just keeps slipping away with no restraint. Certain that when the hour is up the sand is gone.

When does Joel Rosenberg’s new book come out? ("Inside the Revolution".) Hopefully it's off the press & I can read it before it actually occurs.

So onto do the Lord's work.

Speaking of the rapture. There was a Pastor on the Christian radio today saying that Children in Christian families and even a family of one parent believer would be taken. There is no guarantee for children of both unbelieving parents.

I don't like the idea of that but from what I can see in scripture I tend to agree with him. I don't think the Children would go to hell if they died but throughout Biblical history the children of the unbelievers were not spared from God's judgment.

Can anyone think of a time which they were spared?

Anonymous said...

I don't recall any instance in the Bible telling us where any children went when they died, except for King David's statement that he would go to where his baby had gone.

Can you share those scriptures with us where it tells of the children's destination after death?

I disagree with the pastor that said children of two unbelieving parents would not go to heaven. I am basing that on what I think the Bible states about children being "innocent" until they reach the age of unaccountabiity. That is paraphrased, I don't have time to look up the scripture right now.

In His love,
Kelly

Late Night Lisa said...

He did not say that they would not go to heaven but rather that they would not be included in the rapture of the Saints before the Tribulation.

My reasoning for believing Children of unbelievers go to heaven if they die is the same-age of accountability concept.

But it seems that in times past when God judged a nation-whether it be Israel or the Gentiles-the Children although innocent of their nation's doings were included in God's wrath. Isn't it so that even the Nation's sin & resulting judgment can continue on into the 2nd & 3rd generations as well.

I think it's Jim G. who's looked into this topic quite a bit.

Here is a little info on the subject Where do I find the age of accountability in the Bible? What happens to babies and young children when they die?

Late Night Lisa said...

Here is another viewpoint-based on the word "All". (Actually I hope they are taken-I just don't see a Biblical example in past History to support it. The Bible say's woe to the pregnant & nursing mothers in those days.....speaking of the Jews in the Trib. So not much concrete info to base a conclusion upon.)

I Corinthians 15:50,51, in speaking of the Rapture says, "Now this I say brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall ALL be changed".

The "all" would include even babies who are also part of the body of Christ. Those children, the second group, that are of the age of accountability will be left behind.

Kelly, your point is well taken and I agree. It is hard to put away long standing habits and ideals. Thank you for reminding me and I truly mean that.

But I still don't like what is happening in any manner.

Shalom,

Yes NATE, that could be the reason for all my unrest and waking up at such weird hours. The other day, I got exactly 2 1/2 hours of sleep in 36 and yet I was completely awake and functioning. I couldn't do that when I was 25 years old, let alone in the golden 70's.

I believe it will be sudden and I get the getting the impression that we won't access to printed material or materials that we use everyday now. Such as the computers and internet. It wouldn't take much to block electronics of all kinds but know what, what we have in our hearts will be the things no one can take from us. If we lay them down that is of our own doing but no one can take them from us.

I think of Watchman Nee in China and how he suffered the torture and torment every day for many years because of his faith. He never let go of his fellowship with God and the power of God's word or his love for the Lord.

I think very soon we will no longer be able to gather here and share our encouragement and correction and searches with one another. We have to build one another up for the next step and keep each other in prayer daily. Nothing else matters except our Christian walk and faith in God's Word. That is one reason why I kept reminding everyone to learn to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit so he can lead us through the mine fields. I sincerely pray that we will be out of here very, very soon but if not, then like Kelly said, "even so, come Lord Jesus!".

By the way Kelly, welcome to the blog.

Nate,

I too read the news articles, listen to C-Span and hear all the garbage coming from our government, which I use to help me know how to pray.

You may be right in what you see coming upon us, but I can't allow that to prevent me from doing my Father's work. Jesus said that the gates of hell would not prevent His gospel from going forth. He gave his followers no instructions how to take care of themselves or their families and He knew what was facing His disciples in their lifetime. He told Peter that he would be bound and taken where he didn't want to go. You know He knew what was going to happen to Stephen, Paul and the others as they boldly proclamed the gospel. But not one hint did He give as to how to protect ourselves when we were persecuted for His name sake. The other writers of the epistles, also did not offer any "safety measures," when they talked of the persecution. The writer of Hebrews tells us "...not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as [is] the manner of some, but exhorting [one another], and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."

It may be true that our ability to talk with other Christians around the world may be shut off before we are raptured out of here, but we have our local churches. I am from a pretty small town, but we have about 15 evangelical churches who are on fire for the LORD. And, we all know each other and do a lot of things together as a group.

Jesus told us "not to worry," our Father knows what we need, and He will take care of all our needs.

We may lose some of our liberties, especially of free speech, before we are raptured, but I know that man's law will not stop the body of Christ from going forth as directed by our King.

And, I don't believe that you will be stopped either. You love the LORD, that is so plainly seen by your posts. Ask the LORD to give you the peace of mind that you need right now. And don't worry about tomorrow, today has enough trouble of its own.

All of my friends refer to you as the "little evangelist," and we pray often for you. I am not worried about you in the least.

We're going home soon Nate. Real soon.

In His love,
Kelly

Lisa,

Of course I am speculating, as the Bible does not state clearly what will happen to all the children of the unbelievers when we are raptured out of here.

But, rationally speaking, if the Father considers all children under the age of "accountability" as innocent; I can't even fathom why He would leave them to face the 7 years of tribulation.

So, I have to say that I think they will be taken with us.

When the Israelites refused to enter the Promised Land, the LORD made them wander in the desert until those adults who refused to enter died. Their children, along with Joshua and Caleb entered the Promised Land without their parents.

Like I said above, I am speculating based on what I know about my Father and what He has said in the Bible. I am certainly not going to worry about it, my Father is perfect and He will do the right thing, no matter what I think.

Kelly

Donna,

You are such an encourager.

My wife says you are a "peacenik," just like her.

She also was raised a Catholic.

If we don't meet in this life, we will see each other on the other shore.

In His love,
Kelly

Thanks, Kelly. Yes, that is true...I am an encourager... and a peacenik, too. Good observations.

It seems funny to realize that there are others out there reading this that we are not aware of.

BTW I have to say the following never clicked with me before till now:

"Their children, along with Joshua and Caleb entered the Promised Land without their parents."

So cool!

(I am assuming this is biblical as you seem to be the type that is "sola scripture", or whatever that term is that Jim C uses...I will check it out though.)

I'm glad you are commenting here!
Tell your wife we said hello, too!

Donna,

You are welcome.

Keep in mind that the Israelites wandered in the desert for 38 years before the refusers died off and the others entered the Promised Land. So, the refusers' children certainly were over what we would deem as "children." But, they were not punished as they did enter eventually.

Kelly

Kelly,

I agree it sure makes it confusing. The assumption of the age innocence would seem to make that case. David's child who died was still covered under David in regards to Corinthians 7:13. But this assumption is not made under the example of an unbeliever's child.

The example of the Israelites in the desert-they were still God's chosen people although being punished for their sins. They were not unbelievers.

So w/Corinthians it says the children are clean under one believing parent but unholy under two unbelievers.

Ok Grany-Can you ask your Rabbi? What is the Jewish thinking on this?

Corinthians 7:13,14 , “And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.”

I suppose it doesn't matter one way or another because God is always just & whatever the truth is - is right.

The only benefit I could see if we knew that the truth was that the unbeliever’s children were not raptured-there would be an additional sense of urgency in our time to reach out to those unbelieving parents for the sake of their kids.

Of course we should have the heart of Christ & love everyone the same but I have to admit I usually unconditionally feel love for all children & I have to work a little harder feeling the same for some of the adults I meet. (They hearts are hardened & have some hurdles.)

If some people thought perhaps that if they were not walking right w/God then their children would be left behind-it may inspire them to seek Him out-especially @ this time when at least some people can sense something is going on & it isn't good.

If unbelievers or non-followers felt that their kids would be raptured w/their Christian friends-(if what they say is true)then no rush. If anything happens they'll work it out in the Trib & the young kids will be safe regardless.

What would be the feeling if you realized God's judgment & wrath began-you're Christian friends warned you-they are all gone & now you're looking into the eyes of your child? That child which is dependant upon you for everything & now you realize the consequence of your own foolish rebellion.

I don't know or have an answer but it sure gives me something to think about.

I just read the book of Lamentations last week & it was really hard for me to read that when the women were starving they would kill their own babies to feed others. The description is quite graphic of the horrors they faced under God's chastisement & judgment.
