Real Christians are a Different Lot
"A real Christian is an odd number anyway. He feels supreme love for one whom he has never seen; talks familiarly every day to someone he cannot see; expects to go to heaven on the virtue of another; empties himself in order to be full; admits he is wrong so he can be declared right; goes down in order to get up; is strongest when he is weakest; richest when he is poorest; and happiest when he feels the worst. He dies so he can live; forsakes in order to have; gives away so he can keep; sees the invisible, hears the inaudible, and knows that which passes knowledge. The man who has met God is not looking for anything; he has found it. He is not searching for light, for upon him the light has already shined. His certainty may seem bigoted, but his assurance is that of one who knows by experience his religion is not hearsay. He is not a copy, not a facsimile. He is an original from the hand of the Holy Spirit." (A.W. Tozer)

I got it again.
now off to trying to summarize Isaiah's revelation of the future in one evening session, while still coughing and sputtering every few words.
God bless
awesome post MAc!
Trevor's testing is going well although today he was tested on stuff he hasn't had yet. apparently 2 digit multiplication (ones and tens) is considered a third grade math skill. ha! I seem to recall not learning my times tables at all until 3red grade and I sure don't remember learning more than multiplying single digits, we shall see as hubby tells me it appears he was actually able to work out some of the problmes
I agree with Jib. Great post Mac.
Lori,
Yes, that was a good message from Michael Boldea. Brief but well worth reading. Thanks for sharing.
I am still getting updates on Christchurch from friends of a friend who still live there. Here's a little of what one Christian woman said:
Tomorrow I have a few ladies coming here for lunch, bringing their laundry and shampoo. It's a whole new activity on the social circuit, this sharing of basic facilities.
Some interesting 'coincidences' have happened. Just 10 days before the quake, Australia & New Zealand decided to set up a crisis centre to manage joint responses to natural disasters, based around HMNZS Canterbury, a 9000 tonne multi-role ship, the only one of its kind available to either country.
Was it a coinincidence that at the time of the quake the HMNZS Canterbury was berthed at Lyttelton?,
Was it just luck that 200 urologists were attending a conference in Christchurch on that day.?
And what about 115 soldiers of the Singapore army who arrived for exercises and 'happened' to be on hand to help.
We all thought the quake last Sptember was 'the BIG one' (at 7.1 it was bigger in magnitude than last week's 6.3, which was far more damaging). Looking back now, we see that the earlier quake allowed systems to be in place and trialed, before this last deadly shake.
We thank God for His providence and for the generous offers of help from around the world.
Kids are really something~
Yesterday in the car Melanie(6)starts in on me w/ "WHEN IS JESUS COMING BACK?" , "I really want Jesus to come back!", "Why doesn't God tell us when Jesus is coming back?",.......I've already been waiting SIX ENTIRE YEARS for Jesus to come back!!!
So then I ask her: "Why do you want Jesus to come back?"
She says: "Because I want to fly! I want to go up there & look around & the earth & stuff. I also want to sit on Jesus lap!"
Well- I thought that was pretty reasonable.
Acceptance of Homosexuality in Christianity-Ravi Zacharias AnswersQuestion:settled! This was a good defense-personally I like to quote more scripture but Ravi does have a gift w/reaching people from an intellectual perspective.
LISA,
I agree with Melanie! Me too but do you suppose He would consider me a little too big for his lap? I would take the joy of washing His feet though.
Anne, the message from your friend in Christchurch was hair raising. How, indeed, did all of those precious arrangements get made without any prayer requests from any of us? Just think, one of those prepared aids would be pretty fantastic but all of them! Hey, Abba pays close attention to details.
Just getting over a really bad cold and today I feel like maybe there is more to life than Kleenex and hot soup.
Grany
I agree, Grany...God did some great arranging in NZ! However, I keep wondering what the 200 urologists could do...?
Vicki,
JIB is better qualified to answer that question about Urologist but having spent the greater part of my younger working life in the medical field(Staff only)I can say this. Any specialty has to go through general medicine, then intern, then specialty residency and by doing so, they are quite capable of practicing in any general medical field.
Remember when Haiti had their earthquake and the Neurosurgeon that Anderson Cooper has quite frequently on his TV segment, was left with the responsibility of caring (radical care to boot) by the team that left as soon as it got dark. I don't remember what exactly he had to do in surgery but it was way out of his usual expertise.
a friend who is a missionary in the Chad has a patient that needs all of our prayers. Philomene had quite a severe infection which required at least one surgery and just can not seem to recover although it has been I think at least a couple of weeks. She is not doing well and is losing ground by inches. pray for her healing.
Praying for your friends patient. Also, how is the house guest friend doing?
I have been reading some very interesting things at Debkafile but I didn't link them. Just knowing that there is some dark element behind all of the uprisings going on in the Middle East is bad enough but to have the current president of the US named as one of the co-conspirators is inflaming! Always watch for his sneaky press releases during an especially chaotic world situation.
If you support him, then please be in faithful pray that his become directly related to HIS ways, means and purposes. It is very difficult praying for someone that I so totally disagree with buttt.........
I have a preliminary job interview tomorrow. Please pray for me.

Praying, Jim C and also for your friend's patient, Jib.
Praying for the Pres as well, Grany.

we rarely see him. he works second shift so he has gone to work by the time we get home and we are in bed before he gets home. we leave before he gets up. really except for the car in the driveway and the stuff in the room he isn't around much. not a bad thing though my hubby and he together were driving me nuts lol. it is good for hubby to have his good friend here though. makes me happy. friend is thinking about getting a part time job here intown. not sure when he thinks he's going to get sleep. hubby also said he inquired about apartment complexes and stuff. guess he likes it here.
JIB,
One of the most precious gifts God has made provision for is "FRIEND". There is no way of expressing just how much a true friend means when like has more black holes than rays of sunshine. Knowing that you and hubby both care about him is one of the equalizers that keeps anyone without hope. Going the route of taking ones life because it doesn't mean much to anyone else gets eliminated by Friends.
Thank you Abba for wonderful friends, near and far away. Friends that we wouldn't know by their physical design or voice but we would recognize them by their heart.
JIM C. I have never quit praying for your "Assigned Employment". {:p
Grany
Type correction
"when like has more black holes" should be when life-----! Sorry about that one. The rest are not important.
Jim, praying for you!
Jib, how did your friend get a job there so fast?
Wayne..sorry about your daughter...but I know He uses ALL things for good, and I know that you know that, too!
Grany thank you for the suggestion to recite Psalm 23...it's been so helpful.
I can't tell you what a difficult time these last few weeks have been. My brother has had 3 operations in less than 3 weeks. I am quite sure he will be diagnosed with colon cancer when the bispopsy comes back.
I'm headed down tomorrow to spend time with him (weather permitting; I was supposed to leave today but it started sleeting).
He'll be in intensive care for another 5 days or so, then to a floor.
I'll have to get a duplicate soc sec card and birth certificate in Manhattan for him, while I am down that way (I doubt he knows where either are), plus figure things out with his landlady...so it should be an interesting time, to say the least!
I'd rather spend all my time with him while I am down that way...but these documents are needed for him to get his bills paid.
So please keep us all in your prayers!
You are all in my prayers too.

Joining with you all, that the Lord our God will watch over the people of Japan who were hit with a 8.9 earthquake and 23 ft Tsunami, and come upon our brothers and sisters there with power to bring healing, peace and comfort to those who haven't yet met our Father, and His Son our Lord Jesus Christ.
Maranatha!
Mike
DONNA,Praying for your brother and also, that your trip to attend to him and his needed documents will be swift, complete and without hassles of any kind. That you find great strength and clearness of mind and directions to bring about a great harvest for both of you. I know that the Lord will go before you and when ever a little bump happens, just remember whose you are. (Really good grammer but it is what was in my heart.)
MIKE, I watched that whole thing last night quite by accident I thought. I was watching back and forth between Fox News and CNN when the alert came on CNN. The scene was a total mess like it was taken right out of a Hollywood scare me movie. Then I switched to Fox and the whole thing took on even greater terror for those whose lives were being threatened. I watched as the tsunami came ashore and rolled, and rolled, on into what looked like vacant fields.
Having seen the air photos of that area prior to the waves coming in, it was horrible. What had been a busy highway prior to the tsunami became a large body of water and there were all manner of debris scattered. Homes, cars, buildings, trash, anything that had been stable previously were uprooted and moved into one huge dump. And the water kept right on moving further inland.
My prayers are definitely joined with yours for the ones who are left to cleanup and say goodbye to loved ones.
Seems to me that God is orchestrating a little shaking all over the earth.
From a friend of our brother in law. The friend is a french national living in Japan. We have no idea whether this was translated into english from french or japanese. I think he means "aftershock" where he says replica. obviously I can not attach the pictures but they were impressive.
Dear Joyce and Marc,
Thank you very much for your e-mails and your concern. It is very nice of you. Sorry for not sending news sooner, we went to bed late yesterday. In Tokyo, it shook in the office, it started laterally, not vertically so we
knew we were not at the epicenter. At the beginning, people were joking but it was shaking hard and during a long time so people kept silent in the big open room that it the office. I was looking at the buildings in front that I
could see oscillating and I wondered if the construction cranes in the distance would fall down. Oscillations were big but not strong enough to bring down files from shelves No one ducked under the tables, we did not took our helmets (we are an
engineering company so we have some), I started to prepare a SMS for my wife and son asking: are you OK ? I could send them.
Eric was in fact in a sports class on top of the roof of the school, he joked that it must have been the jumping that provoked it, but in some classes, smaller kids were starting to cry. Yoko was at home, went outside and came back inside. In the office, we looked outside the windows and people were already in the street and in the small park in front of the
building. We went back to work and then a replica came, which was as hard and at long as the first. Since there have been so many smaller replica that we lost count.
The office is at the 11th floor in a building at 100 m from the sea in theTokyo port. So I was wondering if a tsunami would come and we looked again. A black smoke was coming from across the bay and we learned later that it was Cosmo Oil refinery which was on fire (I attach the pictures). Someone brought a TV from a meeting room and we watched with disbelief the first images of the disaster in the North of Japan, with the tsunami and the water in the streets. The replicas were still coming and also the first e-mails
from the colleagues abroad. Around 16:30 a phone call that could go through from a parent without news from the school reminded me that I was delegate of my son's class parents and at 17:00 the boss released us so I went back home. Mobile phones were not working, with busy signals. Fortunately I was riding my bicycle because trains were not operating and people were walking in the street as during the rush hour in the subway. There were also long
lines for buses, taxis and phones. At home Yoko was worried because Eric did not come back. There was an e-mail from the school stating that everyone were safe but that they would not let the children go without authorizations. So we went to school with Yoko by bicycle and all the children were waiting in the gymnasium. We also picked up Elise, one of Eric's class mate living not nearby and went back. We cycled and ran in turn back during the 5 km home. I took a quick dinner and came back to the school with apples, tooth brushes, towels,.. which were welcome. Then I brought back home another kid on my bicycle. The other kids (around 30) were preparing to sleep on mattresses and 2 salarymen came to sleep here too as they had no place to stay. I attach a picture of Eric's classmate, Leo, his
father could not come to pick him.
The traffic was still locked, firetrucks could barely go through but with far less people walking in the streets. I came back home at 12:30. Right now we still cannot use the mobile phones, news in the newspapers and on TV are all about the earthquake. Next time we have to organize better and
think about the priorities in a city without phones and trains.
We thank you again for thinking about us. We hope that you are going well. and take care (if this means anything as we feel so powerless when it shakes) as Arizona and California are also in a seismic zone..
Jim C
do you know or have you heard anything about a supermoon coming up? and how was the interview?
Lisa
are you ok?
Jib,
"Supermoon" is a term cooked up by astrologers. The number given in the books as "the distance from the earth to the moon" is an average. As the moon circles the earth, it "jiggles" like a rock on an elastic string: sometimes it will be farther away and sometimes it will be closer. A "supermoon" takes place when the moon is either full or new (it's either totally lit or totally shaded) AND it's within 10% (I think) of periapsis, which is when it's nearest to the earth.
There is supposed to be a supermoon this March 19, which is the Feast Day of St. Joseph. The astronomers picked up this term from the astrologers, because all the news reporters were calling up the astronomers and asking them about it.
Officially, nothing special is going to happen except tides will be fractionally higher. There are those who make the case (fairly strongly, if you ask me, who don't know nuthin 'bout birthin' no earthquakes) that tidal forces play a bigger role in earthquakes than we give credit. There are also "land tide" forces at work, as well as tidal influences on magma beneath the surface. Go to Garage Games. This guy designs 3d games as a hobby. He started doing calculations of possible earthquakes as a sideline to one of his game designs, and found out that it was accurate. The top of the page has the guy's theory, complete with pages and pages of web links that back him up. Scroll down to see the comments, including the comments of the quakeS (note the plural) that have been occurring in Japan and China in the last couple of weeks.
One caveat re: his accuracy. He doesn't quite have the algorithm nailed yet. In the images where he claims "100% accuracy", he is either accurate (within a few percent) of the date, the magnitude, or the location, but never all 3 together. But in the words of Monty Python, "He's getting better."
According to his theory and the printouts that he's posted in his comments, this "supermoon" is influencing earthquakes, but nothing ON March 19. According to the webpage, the next four days should be interesting: Peru, Panama, Papau New Guinea, Peru again, then the Coral Sea off Australia. (The Dominican Republic was supposed to be yesterday -- see my earlier comment re: accuracy.)
Hope this helps.

OH, and re: my interview...
It went OK, meaning I've got not a clue how I actually did in it. The biggest problem is that it's an entry level position and I'm definitely not entry level. It's working in what is essentially a call center -- although they don't want to call it that -- where I would have to complete a minimum number of technical support calls per day as well as make a minimum amount of sales per day. Their one-year retention is 17% which is a) a little misleading because that doesn't account for people moving into other areas of the company and b) nothing short of amazing for a call center. The company offers amazing benefits, i.e., I would not have to worry about paying for health care. The corporate headquarters are down in Arizona. So for the Christmas party, the owner of the company flew every employee in Iowa plus one down to AZ, put them up in a 4-star hotel, rented out the entire Diamondback stadium, and (in addition to other things) hired Jewel, George Thorogood, and Z. Z. Top to perform.
The down side is that I would have to commute about 40 miles one way to work, and I don't have a car. I am working very hard on trusting the Lord on this one: if I get the job He'll have to provide a means of travel.
I should know by Wednesday -- if I get the job they'll call, if not they'll email. Training starts on March 21.
In any case, it looks like I'll be moving pretty soon anyway. I just got a letter from my landlord. Because I'm in a college town leases don't usually run from month to month; everyone has to sign a one-year lease, usually starting Aug. 1 and ending July 31. If I want to stay I have to sign a new lease by April 15, and agree to a rent increase. The rent will be going from $610/month to $680! I can understand the increase -- the landlord is replacing every single window in the building with more efficient windows -- but unless I can get a job at a higher rate than entry level there's no way I can afford to stay there.
So here's praying and keeping the faith!
<><
Jib, looks like my reply to you re: the "supermoon" got caught in the spam folder. You'll be able to read it as soon as Mac releases it. Just to summarize, the "supermoon" will occur on March 19, the Feast Day of St. Joseph; it's a "supermoon" because it will be full AND at its closest point to the earth in its orbit in the past 18 years; and it MAY be influencing earthquakes.
I mention St. Joseph's Feastday because he is the patron of Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic. Where I live, people wear green on St. Patrick's Day (March 17) and red on St. Joseph's Day (March 19).
<><
Mr Carroll, your comment has been released.
I'm heading back to Oz for 3 weeks so I might be tardier than usual in checking the spam folder.
MR. HYDE,
Don't go! is what I wanted to shout when I read your comment but instead of passing on gloom, despair, and fear....will be in preparation prayer for your safe trip to and from, and no disasters of any kind taking place while you are there.
JIM C.
that was very interesting about the 'supermoon' and I am continuing to pray for your job situation. Don't get under the circumstances, you were made to ascend to the heavens, now submit to it.
Grany
Thanks Grany. I have no fear of the actual flying but I dislike airports and crowds. I get very anxious around too many people.
Please spare a prayer for Alesia, Michelle and Fluff - that God looks after them for me while I'm gone.
Is The Rapture Taking As Many As You Think?
Lisa, good article.
My hubby and I have been talking about the earthquake in Japan (like everyone else of course). But we just feel..why Japan and not here? I feel a great trepidation about that. America has not had something like that in Japan. It is a fearful thing, considering the state of our nation and the church in the U.S. We feel so sad for the people in Japan too. Perhaps the Lord will use this to bring many there to Himself.
Diana
Diana, I've been having a bit of a debate with someone over at the Catholic Answers Forum on this issue. The person (going by the handle StAnastasia) claims to be a member of the theology department in a college in California. She is generally disparaging of the idea that we are in the End Times, and she confuses "punishment" (which is individual and occurs at the end of a person's life) and "chastisement" (which affects nations, tribes, peoples, or tongues and is geared towards directing them away from sin and returning to G_D).
Yesterday she asked ...but why are the Chileans, Haitians, Kiwis and Japanese singled out for the harshest chastisement? As part of my reply I wrote this:
Japan, though... one thing that gets talked about in abortion circles is the high rate of abortion in Japan. Linked to this is the small size of Japanese families -- usually one, maybe two children. They're usually held up as examples of Responsible Treatment of the Planet, limiting the number of people living here. What doesn't get much discussion -- because it doesn't jibe with the New Age Narrative -- are the demographic results of these policies. In short, the number of ethnic Japanese being born has fallen below replacement level. Unless each Japanese couple start having three or four children RIGHT NOW, in another two generations there will be no native Japanese left.
I ended my reply by saying, "There is enough sin in the world and enough potential for natural disasters to go around. G_D is patient and does things in His time. The question isn't "why was such-and-such a place singled out for earthquake/ flood/ tornado/ Neil Diamond" but "when will such-and-such a place be singled out for a disaster."
<><
Very well put Jim C. "When" certainly would be the question for us or any one for that matter. That really helps in my assessment of things, thanks
Diana
Well, now we have talk around these parts about where the winds would blow if we had a melt down at a nuclear power plant in a nearby town. Please! I am so disturbed that people in my county had to be reassured that it would blow into a different county! Like the nuclear plant problems in Japan have anything to do with a power plant here. People worry about everything there is to worry about!
Diana
"The Tamar field, which should begin production in 2013, is expected to supply all of Israel's domestic requirements for at least 20 years. The Economist suggested in November 2010 that the recently discovered Leviathan field, which has twice the gas of Tamar, could be completely devoted to exports." can you say spoil?

JIB,
Yes I can and that is basically what all of the Middle East surge for dominance is about. Besides Iran (Persia)having this great big desire to dominate the World, stir into that pot the woolly Bear that has been making all of their atomic knowledge available to Persia. Russia has this great desire to dominate and control (money honey)the flow of fuel to that whole region.
Food and fuel when the whole world is suffering from outlandish cost in both of those commodities. I know that sounds kinda silly for this Oklahoma tied granny but, even grannies get these moments of clear reasoning. I know that there are great minds out there that are relating everything to what has happened in the past but per biblical history. However, land grabbing is nothing new. Especially for control freaks like Russia, Persia, Babylon, Greece, and then the big daddy of them all, (plug your ears JIM C)Rome. Of course we know Rome is in the nation of Italy, fully acknowledging that the Roman Catholic Church Vatican is a state unto itself. But it is still Italy. However, we all know what the scriptures say, and say, and say.
This morning when I woke up bright and early, this thought came to me and it shook my whole being. That horrible earthquake and resulting tsunami has shaken Japan to the point of destruction in more ways than one. It is almost as if China detonated a huge hydrogen bomb in the very depths of the region, caused the earthquake in order to shove Japan into a bankrupt nation.
That thought went through my head and then bounced around for awhile. What if? Indeed! Japan holds a huge amount of our national debt in various forms but mostly in callable debentures and stocks. Treasury bills, private bonds that companies, states, cities, hospitals, etc. issue to generate revenue. Now they are back against a wall with the recovery from this mess that is now taking place to the tune last night of over 300 billion dollars and that was before the 4th nuclear reactor started having problems.
continued (I hope)
Continued from previous comment
Their stock market is in a free fall as of midnight last night our time (CDT). The last time that happened our stock market followed suit. Now add to the picture that they have to start selling those financial assets quickly. Who is your pick to be very interested in Japan's assets? The Bear, the Dragon, or how about Persia? I just have this gut feeling it will be the Dragon! Payback for the early days prior to WW2 and also, all of WW2. The oriental mind does not forget! They also don't forgive very seriously.
It is going to be interesting and probably very unpleasant for all of us. The dollar is not going to rule much longer so we are told. However, I don't think they have told all of the story but we have a precious history book that was given to all of us thousands of years ago and it not only gives the past history but the future to come.
Holding to God's unchanging Hand. And standing on God's promises because there will be nothing else to stand on. Squatting not allowed!
REad the last of the BOOK, because we WIN.
Trying that copy one more time.
After my last comment, I received this from a friend in Texas. Because it is on a pay for subscription site, I copied it to post here. I didn't know this had happened prior to my comment and it just gave me the willies.
Treasurys Fall On Japan Selling; Bonds Pare Weekly Price Rally
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Treasurys fell Friday, snapping a two-day rally, as Japanese investors sold U.S. government bonds to repatriate money home following the earthquake that hit that country.
A rebound in the U.S. stock markets also lured some money away from Treasurys as the financial markets assessed the possible impact on economic growth as the strongest earthquake to hit Japan in at least 300 years set off tsunami warnings around the world.
Long-dated Treasurys were the biggest losers, reflecting concern that Japanese insurers may continue to sell such securities to pay insurance claims in the coming sessions. Such selling, however, ...

we are due to travel to Hawaii for a meeting on April 1. Son is getting a little freaked out by the things happening in Japan and the tsunami in HI. we keep reassuring him it's ok now but the truth is one never knows.
Anyone else heard about a volcano erupting in the islands just to the west of Japan. The report said 950 miles from Tokyo.
Grany, I know one of the volcanoes on the western side of Japan had started erupting the day after the earthquake. Just checked the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center and found that two volcanoes in western Japan started belching ash starting this morning. They're keeping an eye on those craters, but they're not expected to produce lava flows. The biggest danger is from the ash cloud, which could interfere with air searches and bringing in supplies by air.
Bring Life To The Devastaion.....Japan Earthquake
This would be a good mission to support @ this time. When I mailed out "one" Jesus Film DVD to South Africa the guy made multiple copies & distributed them to many of the local villages. You just never now how the Spirit will work! Even though just a simple thing like that. I was awestruck when I found out!
"Some nations have already announced that they have canceled plans to build more nuclear reactors and extend the life of existing ones. The end of new nuclear plants will mean more demand for other sources of energy down the line. That will create much higher energy prices unless we can get our government to get out of the way and let energy companies develop our abundant oil, gas, and coal deposits." and providentially Israel has all this new gas finds etc. so the demand is going to go up and Israel when they start producing from these areas they is going to be wealthy beyond their wildest dreams. and very attractive to other countries to despoil yes?
Straw that broke the camels back
This past week's events, especially renewed concerns about tsunamis, sure have made this Scripture come to mind:
25"And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars; and upon the earth distress among nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring.
26Men's hearts will fail them for fear and for looking upon those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh."
Luke 21:25-28
Could that be a reference to tsunamis?
Jim, I wonder, too, if it refers to tsunamis. But, when I read it a few years ago my first thought was global warming (this was before they changed it to climate change). The nations certainly seem distressed and perplexed about
climate change.
Here's how my ESV translates the verse:
25 “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Another day to expect the Shout! Well, Glory!
JIM C.I did a Google search finally and it seems there are at least 2 volcanoes erupting but evidently nothing that anyone is taking very serious. That is good if they know what they are talking about. You know what I mean!
In the meantime, have any of you ever seen such tantamount fear flashing in front of your face as you watch the news personalities reporting on what is taking place in Japan? Only during the days of the beginning of Katrina and then the aftermath of all that mess. This disaster is much worse but you don't see the looting, the complaining by the victims or for that matter, the government officials. In fact, just the opposite. ....continued because the Google Troll won't accept the whole thing.
Here is the rest:
So, I am of the same questioning mind that Jim G. is. Could this be the beginning of the 'seas roaring, the heavens out of control, and the hearts of men/women failing them because of the fear that is coming upon the world'? I think we will see soon enough. I can tell you though, my sleep last night was far from peaceful and I slept in segments. I woke up several times praying, which isn't too unusual for me. However, these prayers were for things I have never contemplated before. Does the Holy Spirit do that sort of thing? You betcha! God knows the ending and the beginning; the Holy Spirit is just as much of God as Jesus Christ is.
But this morning I got up with a great release and that is so very much appreciated.
Grany
Ok, so my hubby did not get that carpenter job. He is still working as of this week though, so thank the Lord on that! But, PLEASE PRAY for my job. I applied at an assisted living home as a nurse assistant about two months or so ago. They called last week and I had an interview this morning. They were interested even though I am pregnant and will have to take leave in July. The place is beautiful, well staffed, excellent pay, large yearly bonuses, paid leave, ect. all start on my start date. I really would love this job. It is nights so my hubby would be home with the kids. I like working nights. Please pray that I get offered the job. If I get this it is something that I could continue with for many years as the pay is so good and if hubby did not have work for a while it would still be ok. Also, they have a no lift policy, which means I would not be in danger of hurting myself to lift a resident. I can't believe that they called after so long and still wanted to interview me!
Thank you friends!!
Diana
Jim C, anything about the job today??
DIANA,
Praying for your job and hubby's also.
JIM C. you too!
It seems surreal quiet here today and it kinda makes me nervous. The one thing I am enjoying though, windows are all open and the fresh clean spring air is so nice. The birds are happy because kitty kat is inside and they are outside, safe for the time being.
I love this time of the year and now I know why one of the reasons that Jesus had the victory over the grave in the spring. New Life and that abundantly.
Yippeeeeee!
Grany, thanks for prayers.
I love this time of year too, especially when everything just turns green one day! Here is a poem written by my late grandmother. She loved Jesus and talked about him all of the time. She was a sweet little Mexican woman who had 9 children and led a very hard life. She passed away two years ago in February.
April-Spring-Easter
An awakening- a new beginning
A renewal in nature, in people
in myself.
The seed is there. Lying dormant
it comes to life
With the help of outside forces.
The warmth of the sun,
The gentle rain
nurture life
Brings forth green trees
and fragrant flowers.
Easter is my awakening,
my renewal- my new beginning.
A gift from the One who kept
His promise, gave His all,
and came to lift me up
after the fall.
Carmen Herron
Diana,
I like Grandma's poem and yes, you can see the Jewel of Jesus in her writing. My sentiments exactly. Renewal of hope and life.
My heart really is aching for the Japanese people and we all need to be praying that this nightmare come to a screeching halt, in Jesus name.
Last night as I was watching one of the Christian network programs, a young minister stopped what he was preaching, looked directly into the camera and said "I believe we are entering into the Trumpet Judgments". I have such strong opinions on this topic but he really shock my confidence greatly. I really cannot go along with that theory because it doesn't go along with the scriptures of Revelation events but I do believe we are well into the last act of the Church Age.
continued.......
2nd part.........
The interesting thing was, he went right back to preaching his sermon and not another word about the Trumpet Judgments. What an opportunity he missed if he was truly being lead by the Holy Spirit and all of the theories and theorist are wrong. Something else that happened just this week as I was reading at a Jewish site. This man has quite a reputation among Christians and Messianic Jews as being right on the mark with his bible knowledge and understanding. But as I was watching him, this came up inside of me: 'they couldn't tell their Messiah had come prior to his crucifixion and yet they are considered all knowing now'. I hope that was just my inner man speaking and not a real word. It would be so sad to have to learn later on that the Messianic Jews were wrong also about the season or the time of his coming visitation. Or for that matter, the true theology of Holy Spirit indwelling of the believers now.
Just some thoughts.
Grany, I do get a sense of pride from some of the Messianic Jewish Believers.
I really appreciate the cultural knowledge they have to offer but some take it to the hilt & Lord it over the regular Gentile Christians. Pride is blinding so watch out for the prideful whomever they are.
Standing for the Gospel – It is a Small Price to Pay
Prophecy The Time Of ShakingGiven by Lance Lambert in 1986
Oh Joy, Now I've probably been radiated! Well, perhaps we won't be here that much longer so it won't really matter.
Come Lord Jesus!
ALERT!RADIATION reaches USA
At the time of the atomic bombing, Tatsuichiro Akizuki, M.D. Was Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at St. Francis’s Hospital in Nagasaki and he fed his staff and patients a strict diet of brown rice, miso and tamari soy soup, wakame, kombu and other seaweed, Hokkaido pumpkin, and sea salt. He also prohibited the consumption of sugar and sweets since they suppress the immune system.
By imposing this diet on his staff and patients, no one succumbed to radiation poisoning whereas the occupants of hospitals located much further away from the blast incident suffered severe radiation fatalities.
Much of this positive result has to do with the fact that the sea vegetables contain substances that bind radioactive particles and escort them out of the body. This is why seaweed sales usually skyrocket after radiation disasters, and why various seaweeds and algae are typically used to treat radiation victims.
In Chernobyl, for instance, spirulina was used to help save many children from radiation poisoning. By taking 5 grams of spirulina a day for 45 days, the Institute of Radiation Medicine in Minsk even proved that children on this protocol experienced enhanced immune systems, T-cell counts and reduced radioactivity.
Israeli scientists have since treated Chernobyl children with doses of natural beta carotene from Dunaliella algae and proved that it helped normalize their blood chemistry. Chlorella algae, a known immune system builder and heavy metal detoxifier, has also shown radioprotective effects. Because they bind heavy metals, algae should therefore be consumed after exposure to any type of radioactive contamination.
In 1968 a group of Canadian researchers at McGill University of Montreal, headed by Dr. Stanley Skoryna, actually set out to devise a method to counteract the effects of nuclear fallout. The key finding from their studies was that sea vegetables contained a polysaccharide substance, called sodium alginate, which selectively bound radioactive strontium and eliminated it from the body.
Sodium alginate is found in many seaweeds, especially kelp, and since that time the Russians have been seriously researching the use of their own kelps from Vladivlostok, from which they have isolated the polysaccharide U-Fucoidan, which is another radioactive detoxifier. Because miso soup was so effective in helping prevent radiation sickness, the Japanese have also done research identifying the presence of an active ingredient called zybicolin, discovered in 1972, which acts as a binding agent to also detoxify and eliminate radioactive elements (such as strontium) and other pollutants from the body.
The kelps and algaes aren’t the only natural foods with radio-detoxifying effects. In terms of fluids to drink, black and green tea have shown “radioprotective effects” whether consumed either before or after exposure to radiation. This anti-radiation effect was observed in several Japanese studies, and studies from China also suggest that the ingredients in tea are radioactive antagonists.
In short, after any sort of radioactive exposure you want to be eating seaweeds and algaes along with almost any type of commercial heavy metal chelating formula to bind radioactive particles and help escort them out of the body. Whether you’re worried about depleted uranium, plutonium or other isotopes, this is the wise thing to do which can possibly help, and certainly won’t hurt. Many nutritional supplements have been developed for the purpose of detoxifying heavy metals, most of which contain the algaes and plant fibers and other binding substances.
Basically, an anti-radiation diet should focus on the following foods:
· Miso soup
· Spirulina, chlorella and the algaes (kelp, etc.)
· Brassica vegetables and high beta carotene vegetables
· Beans and lentils
· Potassium, calcium and mineral rich foods
· High nucleotide content foods to assist in cellular repair including spirulina, chlorella, algae, yeast, sardines, liver, anchovies and mackerel
· Cod liver oil and olive oil
· Avoid sugars and sweets and wheat
· A good multivitamin/multimineral supplement
Yet another benefit of the sea vegetables rarely discussed is their high mineral content, which is a bonus in the case of radioactive exposure. Consuming natural iodine, such as in the seaweeds, helps prevent the uptake of iodine-131 while iron inhibits the absorption of plutonium-238 and plutonium-239. Vitamin B-12 inhibits cobalt-60 uptake (used in nuclear medicine), zinc inhibits zinc-65 uptake and sulfur is preventative for sulfur-35 (a product of nuclear reactors) incorporation by the body.
Since nuclear workers are potentially exposed to radioactive sulfur, this means that workers in the atomic power industry need a higher content of sulfur in their diet. MSM supplements provide a source of dietary sulfur, but thiol supplements such as cysteine, lipoic acid and glutathione serve double-duty in this area because they help detoxify the body and attack all sorts of other health problems as well.
The immune system is usually hit hard after radiation exposure, and a number of steps can be taken to help prevent opportunistic infections after a radioactive incident. Though the full dimensions of the protective mechanism is still unknown, Siberian ginseng is one form of ginseng that exerts a definite radioprotective effect and has been demonstrated to lessen the side effects of radiation. It was widely distributed by the Soviet Union to those exposed Chernobyl radiation and is commonly used to help cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.
Consuming Reishi mushrooms is another proven way to bolster your immune system after radiation exposure and helps reduce the damage from radiation. It’s been used to decrease radiation sickness in animals and help them recover faster after potentially deadly exposure.
Panax ginseng has prevented hemorrhaging after radiation exposure, prevents bone marrow death and stimulates blood cell formation, so it’s another supplement to add to one’s protocol. In short, yeasts, beta glucans, bee pollen and various forms of ginseng have all been shown to bolster the immune system after radiation incidents.
In terms of radiation burns, aloe vera has a proven ability to treat serious radiation burns and offers other radioprotective effects, and can easily be grown in your house.
The amino acid L-Glutamine can be used to help repair the intestine in case of the gastrointestinal syndrome usually suffered due to radiation exposure, and a variety of substances can help rebuild blood cells to prevent hematopoietic syndrome. Those particular foods include beet juice, liver extract, spleen extract, and shark alkyglycerols. Most oncologists don’t know that shark liver oil, with alkyglycerols, can help platelet counts rebound in days.
Depleted uranium is currently in the journalistic spotlight because US weapons are made from this material, and after being fired leave a legacy of depleted uranium dust in the environment, which anyone can absorb. Because the kidneys are usually the first organs to show chemical damage upon uranium exposure, military manuals suggest doses or infusions of sodium bicarbonate to help alkalinize the urine if this happens. This makes the uranyl ion less kidney-toxic and promotes excretion of the nontoxic uranium carbonate complex.
In areas contaminated by depleted uranium dusts, it therefore makes sense to switch to drinking slightly alkaline water and to favor a non-acidic diet to assist in this detoxification. Any of the heavy metal detoxifiers, such as miso soup, chlorella, spirulina and seaweeds, are also commonsense warranted.
Another thing you can do is use homeopathics for radiation exposure. People commonly argue over whether homeopathics work or not, but if you assume the position that they produce no results whatsoever then you must also assume that they certainly won’t hurt you, which means the only loss from using them is a few dollars. Frankly, there are countless cases and double-blind studies where homeopathic tinctures do provoke physical healing effects in the body. Therefore they are a viable adjunct treatment option. One homeopathic, in particular, is URANIUM NITRICUM (nitrate of uranium) which homeopaths suggest should be used in cases of depleted uranium exposure or uranium poisoning. Not just soldiers or civilians exposed to battlefield dusts, but uranium miners and radiation workers may find it quite useful.
While we’ve discussed just a few of the many supplements and protocols you can use to help detox the body of the lingering results of radioactive contamination, including the residues of depleted uranium, the last thing that might be of interest is that there is a plant that is a natural geiger counter. The spiderwort plant is so sensitive to changes in radiation levels (its petals change color upon exposure) that it’s often used as a natural radiation detector (dosimeter), just as they use canaries in mines as detectors of poisonous gas. Some people like knowing that they have an ongoing monitoring system for radiation in the environment, and this is just another tip available in “How to Neutralize the Harmful Effects of Radiation or Radioactive Exposure.”
Lisa, the latest comments posted on that YouTube page indicate that the map on the video is bogus. You can find the map from Black Cat Systems radiation detectors here. Current values at this time show levels of 26 in Los Angeles and 11 in San Francisco. (When I first looked, it was 20 up in Oregon; 15 minutes later it was 7.)
<><
oH, Lisa, that sounds yummy! But hey, we use a lot of Japanese Green tea, white tea, and Ceylon black tea. I am not much of a coffee drinker but I do like a little bit of sugar in my tea. I have found something that is just as good as sugar and it is really an old fashioned ingredient. Honey! It keeps for a long time and if it does go to sugar, just heat it for a few minutes and walla, it is liquid again.
As for the arrogance of some Messianic Jews, yeah! And it sticks out like a sore thumb especially when they try to tell the Born Again Gentiles that we have to keep the Torah laws. I believe there is quite a large proof that the Apostle Paul provided for all Gentile believers in the Epistles. In addition to his journey back to Jerusalem and confrontations with Peter.
CONTINUED NEXT COMMENT.....
I don't count it all joy when I read or hear anyone trying to add onto the sacrifice of Jesus Christ sacrifice on the cross. I won't allow anyone that would be silly enough to try diluting the gospel by any means. Dr. Fruchtenbaum tells us that the gospel was given to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles. He is right but the Jews threw it back in Jesus's face when they spit on him at his trial, at the cross and how many other places. I love the Jewish people, please don't misunderstand but Jesus did not put up with the Pride of the Pharisees one little bit. Stiff necked bunch of vipers, in white washed tombs. That was the Religious spirit that is still very much alive today.
The topic of this current post is "REAL CHRISTIANS ARE A DIFFERENT LOT" and I thoroughly agree.
Well, the spam filter just doesn't like it when I link to a website. I had a link to the site with the radiation map that was being used by the guy in Lisa's link, with the comment that his data appears bogus. According to the most recent map, there are NO sites in the US with above-normal levels of radiation.
Do a Google search for "black cat radiation map" to find the map for yourselves.

JIM C.
That map on Lisa's link was the very map that was posted to show the possible places that the tsunami would come into contact on the western shores of Alaska, USA, North and South America. When I linked to the page on Lisa's comment I recognized the map and due to my habit of copy, paste of worthwhile articles and links, I had copied the whole thing onto my documents. Same exact map. So the radiation that he is talking about is not represented on the map he showed.
Sorry that I didn't point that out sooner but truthfully, I had forgotten it.
Why do people do such things is always a real test for me. Isn't the situation bad enough without some nitwit trying to screw it up more?
Sorry but there are things that even this old grany is really unable to cope with. So, what is MY solution to the question? Simply stick in the back drawer and consider it no more.
According to the New York Times, the radiation detectors at JFK went off when passengers and their luggage got off the plane from Tokyo.
At least now we know how sensitive those detectors are. The question to me isn't if the people brought radioactive particles back with them on their clothes; it's what KIND of radioactive materials hitched a ride. If it's radioactive strontium, which has a half life of 18 days, then no biggie. (It's the strontium that is the reason to take extra iodine as a precaution. Strontium and iodine are very similar chemically; taking extra iodine inhibits strontium uptake by the body.)
If, on the other hand, they're bringing radioactive cobalt or cesium on their clothes, with half-lives of around 50 years, then, not so good.
<>
JIM,
if that report is true, then we will have our own "No Fly Zone" directed at every international airport in the whole region of the west coast. Or any location that is receiving international flights from Asia.
Do you suppose that will involve our Secretary of State, Mrs. Clinton? She is in the Middle East right now. Also, what about the private flights such as CNN, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, and all diplomatic flights?
Now, the next question, what happens to the passengers that test positive for the radiation scan? Where will they have to wait it out and isn't 50 years a long time to be detained?

some interesting articles on the new book released by Rob Bell. i will say that I am unsurprised by his apparent endorsement of universalism etc as I did read some of his book Velvet Elvis before I got disgusted and tossed it aside. This man is NOT an evangelical and if you church is using his stuff you need to be talkin to someone!
A Bridge too Far imo this is the best of the lot.

I was struggling with what God wanted me to write for our monthly deacon's corner because it was quite clear about a month ago that He wanted me to write on a topic other than what I wanted to write one. if you go to my blog and look at the latest post you will see what I ended up writing. Keep in mind that I had not read, still haven't read, Bell's book nor had I read ANY of these reviews of the book. There are many in my church who think Bell is wonderful. I hope these reviews will help them see him for the danger that he is!

actually it is the iodine in the seaweed that is what is protective. Kelp pills work just as well. caution though the thyroid is very sensitive to iodine manipulation so I wouldn't proceed on a diet high in iodine from any source without checking with a doctor.
plus the amounts of radiation that we will receive in the US is negligible
I think many of you will find this interesting. It's the latest writing from Mark Mallett:
The Age of Ministries is Ending
But brothers and sisters in Christ, God is doing something new among us. He is preparing the world for a tsunami of Mercy. He must bring old structures down to the foundations and raise new ones. He must strip away that which is of the flesh and reclothe us in His power. And He must place within our souls a new heart, a new wineskin, prepared to receive the New Wine He is about to pour out.
In other words,
The Age of Ministries is ending.
Keep in mind that this is being written from a Catholic perspective, but I think the messages in it speak to Protestants, too. (Esp. if you hear that so-and-so's ministry had to close down.)
<><
Grany, I meant to comment earlier, on that preacher stopping in the middle of his sermon to give that one line about the Trumpet Judgments. Since he didn't go into any detail (or even anything at all), it's possible that the Spirit inspired him to speak just that one line for one person.
Does anybody know if having a thyroid that hasn't produced any thyroid hormone for more than 30 years would make a person less suseptable to radioactive "stuff" accumulating in they thyroid and therefore greatly reduce their cancer risk (at least cancers caused by radioactive "stuff" accumulating in the thyroid)?
...their thyroid...
Jib, read your post at your blog and made a comment. Thanks for the links, I will check them out soon. I have read some things about Bell's new book. So, so sad that many fall for this "other gospel" being preached. As I said in my post on your blog, I really ache when I think of the mockery it makes of our Lord's suffering and death!! What a terrible thing to take so lightly and to not have a holy fear of our Lord, who holds our very breath in His hands!!
I have had a much deeper, much more reverent "fear of the Lord" these past few weeks. I was reminding my own mother even that the Lord not only killed people in the old testament but also in the new testament as well. When Ananias and Sapphira lied to Peter in Acts 5, the Lord struck them down. That testifies to his Holiness and the fact that he has not struck me down testifies to his great mercy!
Today is my daughter, Victoria's, 14th birthday. Please say a prayer to bless her today!
Thanks
Diana
Jim G, How is Daniel doing? Have you and your wife come to any decisions about his school this year?
I can tell you that things do get better with age! My Joshua (who has always been my wild one, freaking out with the least amount of change)has matured a great deal just within this past two weeks. He is 5 and a half and will be in kindergarten in the fall. I have had many worries about him and he has always exhausted me!
So, there is always the maturity level of a child that helps a great deal!

Yesterday I posted a link to the latest essay by Mark Mallett, "The Age of Ministries is Ending". One of the sections from the essay stayed with me:
And many lay ministers today weigh their ministries first on the scale of affordability and practicality rather than obedience and charity. Certainly, there are the practical considerations; but when we become reliant upon the world and her resources as a first priority rather than reliant upon the providence, direction, and power of the Holy Spirit, then our ministries risk becoming sterile, and at best, "careers". It becomes a function of the limited rather than the Unlimited.
And then I checked my news aggregator and found this:
Pastor Accused of Denying Communion to Churchgoers Who Didn't Give Tax Refunds
Members of a small Baptist congregation in Texas say their pastor denied them communion after they refused to give him their tax refunds, MyFoxHouston.com reports.
Parishioners at the Houston Unity Baptist Church claim the pastor, John Goodman, asked members of his congregation to hand over their tax refunds to the church.
<><
Jim C,
Wow, and the pastor wants them to pay for a new parking lot too! Not feeding those who are hungry, not helping to pay any mortgages or rent for any members, not paying elderly people's bills; but a parking lot! How disgusting.
JIM C.
I read the whole article by Mark Mallett and whether it be RCC or Protestant/Evangelical, the scripture applies to all: "For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God's household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God's Good News?" 1 Peter 4:17 ESV
Mt. 21:13 "And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."
Mark 11:17 "And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves."
Now consider this from Isaiah 2
continued next comment.......
Is. 2:2&3
New Living Translation (©2007)
In the last days, the mountain of the LORD's house will be the highest of all--the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship. 3. People from many nations will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob's God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For the LORD's teaching will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem."
So, His House of Prayer was to go out into all of the world teaching the ways of righteousness that Jesus lived, breathed and died for.
Agreed on the iodine info. When I was prepping for my thyroid radiation, one of the big no-nos for me to eat 2 weeks prior was any kind of shellfish or anything with kelp in it because the radiation works best when all the iodine is centered in the thyroid (in my case, remaining sliver that they left after surgery). In my case, the drs. WANTED to burn it out b/c of the cancer. Makes me wonder what people like me have to worry about without a thyroid gland? I'm sure there are other types of cancer than can develop. Good thing we're all under His protective wings :-)
I was also surprised to learn that some water ice and sorbets are made from a kelp extract, so they were on the 'do not eat' list for my low-iodine diet.
Blessings,
Jen
Hi...I hope you are all safely resting in the palm of his hands!
I took Grany's advice and have repeated Psalm 23 continually...not rotely but with real feeling and sincerity. I'd never had it memorized before but do now.
Thank you so much for this suggestion.
These last few weeks have been some of the most difficult and emotionally challenging weeks I have ever had.
But I do know that He is in full control of all things, even if it does not seem so!
It looks like my brother will be coming to live with us for a while...once he is out of the hospital. I assume, hope and pray he will get medicaid for his medical care. He is now technically homeless as we had to move him out of the room he was renting. He was diagnosed with colon cancer and has had 3 major operations in 3 weeks.
The plan is for him to go to rehab once he gets a medicaid temporary #. If not he will have to come directly here (300 miles from where he lives) and we will have to carry him in by stretcher.
I think it will be great for him to be here. I just hope and pray it is not too disruptive for us as he also has mental health issues and can be challenging.
But if this is in God's plan,so be it. I just hope my husband can handle it.
Diana, I am so sorry that your husband did not get that job.
Jen, your health concerns make me wonder, question and causes my heart to become heavy.
I am sorry for all of the challenges we all have been having!
But also know that He works all things together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
It's not easy, for sure!
Just had to let you all know I'm thinking and praying for each and every one of you!
May God continue to bless us all!
Donna, thanks for letting us know. It does seem as though so many are going through such difficult issues in their lives. Just yesterday I began to weep because there are so many people I know who are going through various problems, some health related some financial and some through bad choices they've made. And to top it off, watching what is happening in Japan...it all just broke my heart. Imagine how broken His heart is for all who reject Him.
As I felt so burdened by the troubles of so many, I sensed the precious presence of the One who carries my burdens. I know He is working in these lives and that He hears our prayers. How great is my God and how I love Him.
Donna, great hearing from you and will keep you and your family (brother too)in my prayers. There is a little book, written by Phillip Keller, and the title is "A SHEPHERD LOOKS AT PSALM 23". If you have the time to read any at all, this little book really opens up the 23rd Psalm, or it did for me.
He approaches it from a real shepherd's point of view, having been a modern day sheep owner and sheep rancher. Jesus compared us to sheep many times and after reading this little book, I can understand why. I know it can be read on the internet but I am too tired right now to find out where.
Anyway, it is a wonderful little book and if it were possible, I would send it to you.
Grany
Is Mr. Hyde back from Oz yet? I sure hope that nuclear mess doesn't go there too. For some reason, I just don't trust the government to shoot straight about our safety in this regard. There is a nuclear power plant not far from where we live, about 1 1/2 and when I lived in Ft. Smith we were always worried about the horrible storms damaging it. So far, nothing has transpired and I am so very thankful.
Hi again friends,
Re: Donna's post, I just wanted to pop back on and make sure no one was distressed by my comments! I'm feeling just fine with everything swirling around us because my opinion of God's goodness just grows by the day! Years ago when I was in the midst of my other major health crisis (fertility) I didn't have that outlook and the sinking sand I was standing on eventually led me to question God and then ultimately believe that He took pleasure in being mysterious and unpredictable. The idea of God being "good-only" didn't make sense because I was so focused on the world, the statistics, the failures we were experiencing, etc. Basically, in my mind, God had become a bully and I began to pull away from Him and insulate myself with whatever defense mechanisms I could muster up. It was truly the darkest time of my life, much much darker than anything I went through with the cancer. The different came when I began to read the Bible with believing (not just "wishful thinking") eyes. The verse that cinched it for me was from Luke 11: 11Which of you fathers, if your son asks forf a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
I realized that I had put God into the "human father" role where he couldn't be 100% trusted and would often let you down. My own strained relationship with my earthly father had alot to do with it because my dad always has to have the last word, even if it means doing something illogical or downright stubborn. That was God to me, not the loving and forgiving and lavishing father that we see in the story of the prodigal. Today, that is how I know God and so everything that comes against us or threatens us, I see Him dropping everything and running to rescue us and definitely keeping ALL the promises made to us as His beloved children. It's taken some time, but I'm so much more confident of His love now and that is where peace that passes understanding comes from!
So I hope my ramblings about thyroid stuff didn't point anyone away from that peace. We have so much to look forward to in the days ahead. I can't wait to see what proof of His love is on the way!
Blessings,
Jen
Diana,
I wanted to share a message about the fear of God that was just on a sermon that I watched tonight. That example of Annanias and Saphira has always seemed out of place to me, harkening back to the OT judgements when the law was supreme.
The sermon tonight mentioned that very verse so of course my ears perked up. The pastor said that when looking at the Greek, you see that believers were called "that disciple" (name) and unbelievers are called "that man" (name). In the case of Annanias and Saphira, they are described with the unbelievers label (a man named Annanias) and were therefore outside the protection of the body of Christ. I had never heard that delineation made before but it gives the account a new angle to consider!
Blessings,
Jen
Hi Donna, great to hear from you! Sounds like it is going to be a challenge with having your brother live with you. Nothing that is of great importance comes easily though!! Praying for him and your family.
Jen, thanks for that perspective! How interesting. I never knew that. However, I do still think that it can be used as an example because many people say that God doesn't do those kinds of things anymore because we are living in the "times of grace". The times of grace being after Jesus ascended to heaven. God is still God, he does not change. He is certainly lavishing his grace on us due to his son but he is still the same God who killed even children in the great flood. So, although I don't think that he is going to strike me down when I sin due to Jesus's blood I do have a much bigger "fear" of him and much more reverence than I did in my younger years!
I also think that the example of Annanias and Saphira should be a reminder to all of the charlatans in our churches today! Seems like the Lord is giving them good time to repent but many aren't doing so, it is just getting worse. They aren't of his true flock but have wormed their way in and are liars, not too different from Annanias and Saphira.
I am off to make breakfast for the family, clean it all up and make a big lunch for my daughter's birthday party. Whew. Good thing the sun is shining!
Oh, Grany, I was watching Nancy Grace late last night (I never watch her show) and she was soooo skeptical about what the governments and the "experts" have been telling us about the nuclear crisis. She even said that she really didn't believe on guy that she had just interviewed!
Diana
News that is worth reading!
ISRAEL IS BEING BOMBARDED WITH MISSILES FROM HAMAS and this is just one more ME campaign of war in the region. Iran/Syria are in cohorts with Egypt.

Jim C, very cute. Thanks!
Grany, news indeed! Our media just loves to leave this stuff out. Also, the horrible acts of terrorists that murdered a Jewish family in their home while some of them slept did not get any press either. Three children and the parents. Beck covered it. It was awful. I saw a video of the family visiting with the prime minister and the little 12 year old daughter sobbed, "what can you do? If you do anything the Americans will get at you." the Jews afraid of America?

Any way, they've now been released.
Hope everyone is well!
Maranatha!
Seems like I have so much bad news these days.
The day after I came back from being with my brother in the hospital (he's still there) my husband had a heart attack!
He had a blocked artery, they put a stent in, there appears to be no damage to his heart and he seems to be doing ok.
We are pretty shaken up from all that's been happening, to say the least!
Oh gosh Donna! That would have been scary. How old is your husband? Is he handling it ok? So glad that there is no damage. Will keep him and you in prayers!
Diana
Thank you for your prayers.
He turned 58 the day before...great birthday present!
It's been quite a year to say the least!
Asking for some prayers for myself. I just got an email from the job I interviewed for a week and a half ago (my first interview in almost a year) saying thanks, but no thanks.
<><
Oh Jim, I am so sorry. Are you still getting unemployment?
Diana
Still praying, Jim. May God abundantly supply all your needs!
fyi
my friend in Africa-her patient has passed thank you for your prayers.
on another note, Answers in Genesis and Ken Hamm are under attack for pointing out that Biologos is marketing and selling a "Bible based" curriculum for science for homeschoolers which is actually theistic evolution. Mr Hamm has been sounding the alarm about this wolf in sheeps clothing and for his efforts has been banned from all current and future conventions sponsored by one particular group. As an aside, he does NOT see theistic evolution-God using evolution to create and the day/age theory-God creating by his Words over time, as one and the same. Very sad. The group in question told him he was being unChristlike about the whole thing because he wasn't showing love because he was telling people that this curriculum wasn't what it was being proclaimed to be. If you go to the answers in genesis website you can read for yourself
Jim C
you and my brother although he hasn't been unemployed as long as you. praying you find something soon
Yes, Jim C, still praying. Jib, this unemployment stuff is nuts. How is your brother holding up with it?
My dear hubby needs a job too :( Fortunately, he does have some temporary stuff going on. It is so stressful to have a new baby coming and a hubby who only has temporary employment. We never know if he will work next week or not. I interviewed for a nurse assistant job last week but they have not gotten back even though I called on Monday about it. HR new that I am expecting a baby when they asked to interview me. Tired of wasting time. This job would have been excellent; great wages and benefits. I am extremely down and disappointed today.

Diana, My unemployment ran out in August. I've been living off the charity of my family ever since. My biggest worry is the end of this month. I got a grant to pay my power bill this winter, but it was only half of what I got last year (because so many other people applied for help). I owe close to $300. The power company can't cut off my power until after March 31. I know G_D will provide.
So sorry Jim. That is a long time not to have a job and also not to have the unemployment insurance! I had to get my power bill payed by LIHEAP(that is what it is called here) this past December too. It was about $800! I was shocked that it only took a 1/2 hour visit with the worker to get approval and only a week for them to get it to the power company. I didn't even know this kind of assistance was out there till I was desperate! Can you get rental assistance? I may have to look into that since I can't get a job till after baby is born in July. Our power company offers deferred payments arrangements, perhaps that would help you out some.
It is making me ill to look at all of the job postings around here, none of which my husband is qualified for! Lots of jobs for car mechanics, management and management trainees for different retail stores and car parts places, jobs requiring CDL or welding. there really are alot out there but hubby can't do any of them. Even my teen daughter can't get hired. When I was a teen it was very easy to get a job down at McDonalds. Ugh.
J.R. Church Has Been Called to Eternal Glory
From "Prophecy In The News":
He left us on March 22, 2011 and is now in the presence of Jesus. ... He influenced many lives and will be greatly missed.
<><
JIM C.
I know this is hard on you and I know I have been praying, as well as all the rest of us have. However, there is a reason that an answer hasn't been presented and I am going to ask you a very pointed question. OK?
Are you agreeing with us in prayer that God has the perfect place for you to work and earn a living? Or are you asking God to show you where you can serve HIM the best? Now these 2 questions can have the same benefit but only if they mean the same. Are you interested more in a ministry type setting than you are in a financial one? Have you considered turning your talents into opportunities for serving in your church's staff and would it be as a hired member?
It just seems very troubling that all of this time there hasn't been a really "right opportunity" presented and I have to wonder why!
You see, I don't believe in unanswered prayers and especially when God's word tells us very plainly that "if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
I would that I could supply everyone's needs abundantly but then that would take the glory away from Abba and onto me. And I know that Abba said HE was not going to share HIS glory with anyone.
Grany
PS Besides that, I am unable or I would.
Grany, I have been asking to be led to the job that G_D wants me to take. I am worried that with my ADHD G_D may be talking to me but I'm missing it. I know that G_D has something planned for me. I occasionally think back to when I asked G_D for some signal graces. Those are the signs, or "signals" that you're on the right path. Right after that prayer I went to my computer, opened an email, and was immediately presented with the scripture about not worrying about what you will eat or what you will wear.
This entire period has been one of stripping away. I stopped reading Mark Mallett for a while, telling myself that I didn't have the time when in fact it was because I didn't want to read the message. He has been writing for some time now about the need to become less attached to the world and to our possessions. Last night I took stock and realized how much (and how little) I have had stripped away: the security of a job, a car, the certainty of having shelter, now the possibility of having my power cut off. (Can't remember if I mentioned: my landlord will be raising my rent to $680/month starting the first of August. If I'm staying I need to sign the lease by April 15. Also, at the end of March the power company can shut off my power and gas for non-payment.) It has all been preparing me for what is coming, and slowly getting me to trust completely in G_D.
I have been thinking about what I would buy when I get a job and finish paying off my debts. I used to think about getting cable again; not so much anymore. A year ago I spent at least four hours a day every day watching TV, not counting the stuff on my DVR. Today, I watch Nova and occasionally the BBC News on Public Television -- pretty much the only TV I get off the air. I watch "Castle" over the internet at the library, and that's it. I don't know if I would get cable again, because I don't know if I could limit myself to JUST those programs that G_D wants me to watch. Sure, I could get just the basic service, which is just the local stations and some public access channels. But I would miss getting Discovery and History Channel, not to mention the monster movies on the SciFi channel on Saturday nights, and some of the series on USA Network, plus the American Movie Classics and Turner Classic Movies... the slippery slope.
When I had internet, I turned on the computer when I woke up in the morning and didn't turn it off until I went to bed at night. In between there I would spend at least six hours straight "catching up" on things: reading the news, reading this blog, replying to people (rarely just quick notes; trying to take the time to craft a reply), reading end-time news and the like. The rest of the time would be looking for work or just typing in a quick search to Google because I got to wondering about something. It really hit home as to how much time I spend online when I had to start going to the library for my internet access. It's one thing to spend six hours at home on the computer; quite another when you're sitting at a table surrounded by other people.
(continued)
(cont. from above)
Since I realized how much time I spend on the internet, I've been working on cutting it down. I can get it down to three hours, now I'm working on two. Then, of course, I get messages like the one from you, and I have to reply -- I've spent about 45 minutes just on this reply so far! The art of writing is rewriting...
So as I said, I'm being stripped of what I don't need and building up what I do need. While I may not get cable, I would probably get internet, because that's becoming an essential way to communicate and do business. Depending on circumstances, I may or may not get a car. It's almost warm enough to be riding my scooter, and perhaps I could simply rent a car (if I don't need one for my job) for the times I need to go out-of-town.
Ministry gigs are few and far between around here. Partly because the settlements from the sex abuse crisis have stretched resources to the limits; partly because where I live the ministries (Catholic and Non-Catholic alike) want someone with a college degree in something to do with ministering; and partly because the non-Catholic ministries aren't particularly keen on hiring Catholics "because we want someone who believes in the Bible..." Mostly I'm left planning my own ministries that I'd do if G_D gave me the money -- mostly ones that would help people build and get low-cost housing, or running classes in Urban Preparedness. Things that would allow me to hire people to help other people.
So we'll see how much more stripping G_D needs to be done. I know He'll provide power, because I can't store my insulin without refrigeration. I know I'll get a job by July, because I can't rent a new apartment or even a sleeping room without some steady income (unless G_D plans for me to become homeless for whatever reason). The time where we all see what G_D has in store for me is coming. Praise be to G_D!

JIM C.,
Now I know how to pray in agreement with you. God lead him to the Rock that is stronger and much more able than any thing else on earth. Not only lead him but light that light that can only come from you. I know that the scriptures tell us that God will provide a way when there doesn't seem to be a way but all of the glory belongs to HIM.
You are not alone in this search Jim and it is one of the reasons the Internet was provided for all of us. Bringing the believers together creates a corporate anointing. WAYNE, IS THAT CORRECT?
gRANY
Joining in collective prayer for all of our needs, in Jesus's name!
We sure are a needy group these days!
Yep DONNA,
The whole creation is groaning in anticipation of the King of kings and Lord of lords. What isn't groaning is mourning because God's Word tells us that is the way it will be in the Last Days.
But you know what? We should all be shouting with praise instead of trepidation. Because we KNOW that the Fruit is ripe and Harvest time is here. But then, our trials and temptations have to be put under the Blood of Jesus before we can really celebrate. It is an ongoing thing and not apt to change anytime soon.
Never the less, we will endure until the Shout Brings us Out.
Grany
Thanks, Grany. Your wise words are so needed. Thank you.. and thank you, God, for bringing this wonderful woman into our lives!
Donna, we are all needy all the time. To fail to recognize that is to become like Israel during the times of G_D's blessings when they stopped giving G_D thanks for these blessings and began to oppress the widow and the orphan. It is like the rich landowner who, when faced with the "problem" of too much grain (a surplus of blessings) chose to build new storehouses rather than distribute those blessings.
<><
Thank you Jim and Grany for giving me some inspiration today. Very wise words indeed from you both.
Diana
Right on JIM C.
I don't remember where, but there is a verse in scripture, and I am paraphrasing it, that says that which you desperately try to cling to will be the very thing that you will lose. Just like Annanius and Safira wanted to hang onto their money and lied about what they had given. No one was expecting or forcing them to give all of it but they wanted to share everything with the others. So, they lost their money, blessings, and life because they lied.
Sharing and loving live in the same ways. But I think the time is coming very shortly when we will come to realize what loving and sharing are all about.
CONTINUED NEXT..........
By the DONNA, when I write anything and it blesses anyone, it is not me but the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That is WHO HE IS. If it weren't for him all I could tell you is my name, address, phone number and social security number. I am pleased that you were blessed but remember, don't get your eyes on me because I can be a real stinker just like everyone else. Give God the glory and I know you do.
HE loves all of us far more than we have ever realized. We are about to discover the depths of His love.
Grany
not to worry, I do realize all of that, Grany. I give Him all the credit! It's just nice to be around seasoned Christians who understand His word.
I have no idea how things will move forward for us. My brother is very ill and technically homeless now.
We had to move him out of his rented room while he was in the hospital. He lives 300 miles away.
The plan was for him to come here to recover...there is no other option.
It really won't be easy now, with my husband's heart attack last week.
Apparently his heart was not damaged...thak God...he a stent now.
Thank God my brother got into a rehab facility a couple of days ago...as he has been unable to walk after having 3 surgeries in less than 3 weeks. We had been waiting for him to get a Medicaid pending number, which came through the other day....thank God.
So everything is just very scary and intense. I have no idea how we will manage.
But i am thanking God for these problems, too, as I know He will work things out!
Thank you God, in Jesus name!
That Black Cat Systems radiation site has an Andriod App- Oh goody! Now I can add that to my Earthquake & Solar Flares Apps.
Too bad they don't have a Rapture App- better not say that - someone might come up w/one!
Wilkerson's Daily Devotions
Grany, I went out and got myself Tozer's "Mystery of the Holy Spirit" at my old Christian bookshop Am really enjoying it. I might even go back and buy "Fellowship of the Burning Heart".
A window of opportunity for Mideast settlement written by By Marwan Muasher and Javier Solana.
Marwan Muasher, a former FM and deputy prime minister of Jordan, played a central role in developing the Arab Peace Initiative and Middle East Road Map, and is now VP for studies at the Carnegie Endowment for Int'l Peace. Javier Solana, former sec'y general of NATO and EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, is President of the ESADE Centre for Global Economy and Geopolitics in Madrid.
So good to be able to congregate with all of you. I got up this morning and walked without any help and I am thanking God for it. I could brush my teeth without anyone helping me, and I am again, thankful to God for his tender loving mercies, then I walked to the kitchen and began getting DJH's breakfast all by myself with the encouragement of my DJH and I thank my ABBA, Sweet Sweet ABBA for his grace and long lasting patience. Now that might sound strange to all of you but you see, I have friends younger than me that are unable to do any of those things for their self. I am so very thankful that God loves us in spite of our weaknesses and flesh. I can never praise HIM enough. Why do I type his name in upper case, because I just can't stand to see him in lower case.
Love you all,
Grany
Now that I have read the comments and caught up with all of you, well maybe not completely, I have to tell ya Hydie Hoo Hoo, I love Tozer! I know you will be blessed beyond anything you have read. Did you know that there are a lot of his books on the internet readable in their full format? The "Fellowship of the Burning Heart" is very, very good and so is the "Mystery of the Holy Spirit". Happy and blessed reading Mr.Hyde. May they warm the cockles of your heart and I know they will.
DONNA, great blessings are waiting for you. You can do all things because it is Jesus Christ and your faith in him that strengthens you. Good news about the Medicaid helping in your brother's needs and just in time. I am still praying for you and your family, brother included.
As I was closing my comments this passage came calling to me for you Donna. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." John 14:1 KJV
I got my message posted a little before I was ready due to a hyperactive right little finger hitting the enter key. I got so frustrated that I hit Publish when I didn't want to do that.
DONNA, I know you believe in God totally and the rest of my comment was something like this.
Trust in all that God has prepared for you and all of us. Trust him to do the seemingly impossible because he is your Heavenly Father and he greatly cares for you and the God kind of love takes care of all of our needs. It is more than just knowing that there is a heavenly Father. More like celebrating the greatest love of your life.
Oh, I know I am making a mess of this but it is a deep, abiding Knowing that God is greater than anything you could every hope to meet up with but He IS the I AM! The burning bush can't begin to tell all there is to know about Him and it is for sure, I don't have adequate words to express it either.
Love ya and I am praying for the Mighty One that Is I AM to show his self to you like nothing you have ever experienced before. Then no one can take that revelation away from you ever again.
Grany
The Solomon Syndrome Speaks of being a watchmen/watchwomen.
Power Behind the New World Order (3/10) This was a really good overview. Yoga, Meditation, Movies, etc... discernemnt.
Grany, on March 26 you were replying to me while trying to remember a quote about losing your life. I just found it. It is in the Lucan discourse on Lot:
Remember the wife of Lot. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it. I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left." (Luke 17:31-35)
I got this from Mark Mallett's latest, In the Days of Lot. He talks about a message that had been given to a nun in Akita, Japan (about 90 miles from the earthquake) back in 1973, where she was warned that ...if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead.
Whenever I read that prophecy (and it's been quoted a lot lately since the earthquake), I think of Joel Rosenberg writing about the War of Gog and Magog, about the fire falling from the sky and destroying not only the armies in the field but the nations that had risen up against Israel; and I can't help but think, "Are we any better?"

JIM C.
Thank you for posting the quote from Luke 17. I remember now that passage but at the time, it just would not materialize. I think this world, all of it, will be shaken and not just a little bit. Just reading the headlines anymore is scary as far as physical safety is concerned but then it seems that along comes the reminder from the Holy Spirit to perk up, pray up and praise up.
I think the thing that bothers me the most is the well being of the children, all over the world. The pictures from Japan are horrible but so were the ones from New Zealand, Chili, Haiti, and the list goes on. I read somewhere that one of the trusted bible scholars remarked that the shaking will only get worse the closer the Shout gets. To the place that men will actually try to kill their selves to escape the wrath of God. Now the bible passage he was talking about is nothing new but I had never tied it to the pre-tribulation era. He was stating that it will happen before the tribulation and he also feels we are in the very beginning of it.
continued............
Needless to say, I have been studying what the man has said but if he is correct, then what else is in line for now?
Thanks also for Mark's remarks.
Just saw this Christian Broadcasting Network story linked on the Drudge Report.
Iranian Video Says Mahdi is 'Near'
Jim G, I just watched that video last night and it was worth the 28 minutes to watch full length.
I don't want to risk the spam folder by blue linking, but David Wilkerson's blog is worth reading today.
http://www.worldchallenge.org/en/view/devotions
David says: I believe Jesus is coming very soon. We see the Lord gathering the nations together against Israel. Events are moving rapidly toward Armageddon.
Hello All;
I've been away from blogging for some time now, but have been following along "anon" when I can.
I have a rather urgent prayer request for a friend of the family.
Bonny has recently had some surgery for nerve dammage and has trouble using her hands and walking. She is in rehab in a nursing home and is losing hope that she will get better (she wants to die). Would you add her to your prayers? She is very depressed. I will try to update on her condition when I can. Thank you all!! God bless you!
Maranatha!
GT,
Great seeing your comment and missed you. Bonny has my prayers for healing and restoration of mind, body and soul.
That video about the Mahdi was also very sobering. This just points out how very dedicated Islam is to evangelizing the whole world and I use evangelizing in a very limited manner. They remind me of the massive amount of vile news coverage of anything not considered Liberal or Progressive.
With them it is a do it or die and with the Christians it is do it and live. The difference of day and night.
The article that totally amazed me was on CNN Faith blog. They actually published an article from a Christian Professor saying that indeed homosexuality is a sin according to God's word. THE BIBLE DOES CONDEMN HOMOSEXUALITY . Surprised to see it, especially on CNN anything.
Just saw this over at CAF:
Jordan battles to regain 'priceless' Christian relics
They could be the earliest Christian writing in existence, surviving almost 2,000 years in a Jordanian cave. They could, just possibly, change our understanding of how Jesus was crucified and resurrected, and how Christianity was born.
A group of 70 or so "books", each with between five and 15 lead leaves bound by lead rings, was apparently discovered in a remote arid valley in northern Jordan somewhere between 2005 and 2007.
...
The Israeli Bedouin who currently holds the books has denied smuggling them out of Jordan, and claims they have been in his family for 100 years.
The article goes into more detail over the "books" themselves and says nothing else regarding proof of either side's claims.
<><
Good to see you, GT! Praying for Bonny.
Thank you all for your prayers for Bonny.
It seems like things are really "shaking" lately, in both the natural and spiritual. I think most of all in the Epicenter. The deck is being shuffled to make clearer the end time alliances for the next big occurrence, as the Lord continues to set the stage.
Maranatha!
GT, its so nice to see you here. I thought you'd want to know that I started a list of prayer requests and Bonny is first on the list...I've added other requests from folks here, too.
I humbly appreciate and am thankful for all words of wisdom and prayers from folks here!
I do know that God is in control, even if it does not seem so.
He sure works in mysterious ways!!
It sure will be interesting to see how things unfold, both in our personal lives and at the Epicenter!
I think that some of you probably have seen this already but I thought I would post it here anyway. Beck on Israel; "I stand with Israel"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM0DjOC74zI
Once again, no blue line!! A short clip but he is sticking his neck out for this. Watched his show with my daughter the other day and it just brought me to tears; how far from good our country has fallen. "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil"
Diana
i am thinking of making a large poster for the bathroom mirror as a prayer list!
Prayer Request, (*Add this to your mirror Jib)
I had the opportunity to gently share some things this morning w/my Jewish clients & I pray for Gods will to be done in their lives. They offered to share a book on Israel w/me which I then just to happened (yeah right) to have a book in my purse to share w/them called: Israel, The Church, & the Jews.(I was praying the whole drive to their house) My trip to Israel will overlap w/theirs a few days. She sais that she may not read the whole thing but would definitely look through it. Oh how I wish she won’t be able to put it down~so may a seed be planted that will sprout in God's perfect timing.
Here is an interesting
“observation” our Pastor mentioned last evening.
All 3 religions – Islam, Judaism, & Christianity acknowledge that the “signs” of these days “signal” the return of their Messiahs.
This year when we go to Israel in May – (Part of which is the Epicenter Conference) The Orthodox Rabbi’s want to get together w/the Evangelical Christians ( I’m assuming the Pastors) to discuss the coming of the Messiah. They realize that the Christians are the only other people who feel that the turn of events in the ME & pressure upon Israel may be leading to the prophetic fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39. This is the 1st time that a meeting for this reason has been requested.
Have you seen Katy Perry's new video to E.T.? Pretty demonic as far as I'm concerned. Katy Perry E.T.
Wow, a trip to Israel! Sounds awesome, Lisa!!! How wonderful!
I've often thought about the Jews, Christians and Moslems all believing that these are the times that their Messiah will return.
It really is something!
Have a wonderful, blessed time in Israel, Lisa!
When you mentioned about the religions of Islam, Judaism, & Christianity and their belief in the coming of their Messiahs, I was thinking about how we can know the true from false.
I thought of this verse that you probably all know: "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
"Behold, I have told you before.
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not." Matt. 24:23-26
I think it would be important for us to discuss what are other ways we can determine the false christs from the true One.
Vicki
New post is up.
Will keep your Israel visit in prayer, Lisa.
