Daniel 12:2-3
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

The Divine Preservation of the Jewish People
It's happened here before but coming right after an earthquake in the West it sounds like God is giving Oz a gentle nudge.
Locust plague to cost millions as crops disappear
glad not to be in the waking to shame group!
wow the locust problem does sound bad. I would only not that these things seem significant only to those who are willing to hear the voice of God in them
regarding the last few posts on the Denver airport. i wonder if since the facility for congress and president at the Greenbriar in WV was outed as the safe house if the new safe house isn't connected with the Denver Airport
Good morning everyone!!!
Just finished applying for a job only because I felt like the Lord was telling me to. I love my current job and coworkers. I don't like change and I really don't like applying for jobs.
I trust Him though. I'm learning to at least;-)
Oh my goodness, what great timing!
My thoughts exactly!
He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me. Psalm 18:19
Deuteronomy 31:6-8 (NLT)
6 So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
7 Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him, “Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land.
8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Jim G.,
In the last 6 months or so, I've embarked on 2 rather unexpected projects as well, only because I felt that I was being led in those directions. Neither has gone anywhere (so far) and some days I wonder if I was just creating a God-conversation in my head to justify the projects. But I had no peace until I embarked, and now I have total peace about them, even though they remain stagnant (and I'm a do-er, so it's hard to watch them be stagnant!)
Lately, I've wondered if they were just tests to see if I'd really go in the direction that I was being led, to see if I was really ready to be a follower.
Also, on the flip side, in summer
'08, when trying to figure out how to pay for the kids' preschool tuition, I had a job offer that would've covered the expense perfectly. But I clearly heard God directing me NOT to take the job. I took it anyway (being focused on the money aspect) and was never peaceful about it, even though it paid for the tuition. I think that may have been a test, too, and one that I failed! So this time around I'm staying focused on following His lead, no matter how much sense it doesn't make. Glad to see someone else is also making these kinds of decisions! LOL!
Blessings,
Jen
I like reading your testimonies about following the unction of the Holy Spirit.
A group of us were talking about that a couple months ago & I think they we're surprised @ my response.
I said "Yeah, I can usually tell when it's the Holy Spirit because it will require something that I really don't want to do."
(Such as go & talk to someone about a particular matter or give someone a tract that I don't naturally want to.)
Or maybe it's just that I clearly "remember" the times the Holy Spirit pushes my comfort level to the max.
It does make sense that God would test us w/the small things in order to prepare us for bigger things to come.
Are we listening?
And currently I have a matter in the "wings" that I haven't approached yet. I've made plenty of excuses on the "timing" that I will execute this suggestion. Such as I need to research more info
1st among others.....
Oh how I dread this. I see an opportunity presenting it's self fairly soon ... & I have a feeling it's a "Divine" appointment
to get my rear in gear.
(I think I got the hint.)
Jen, the projects aren't "stagnating" -- they're "fermenting".
<><
Jib, I don't think the Greenbriar house was "outed", per se, it was just replaced, no longer necessary (or sufficient for the needs), and declassifying its existence made for a good story and a couple of good History Channel episodes.
The fact is the ability to launch nuclear weapons from submarines and especially from your typical "tramp" steamer made the Greenbriar's existence moot. When there was a minimum 30 minute window from a launch in the Soviet Union the Greenbriar made sense. When there's a 2 or 3 minute window, or a 0-minute window (if they just drive the bomb into DC), then the Greenbriar was pointless. There needed to be a MUCH more secure location, much further away from any port. For this reason, places like Chicago (just drive the tramp steamer into the Great Lakes) and Atlanta were out of the question.
However, the construction of a new airport in Denver would be the perfect cover story. It's a government project, so of course little things like location and cost overruns don't matter. With the former Soviet Union, Denver was at least a secondary target, so the present location places the airport outside the Denver target area. Outside of someone driving a nuclear device onto the grounds (always something to consider), the airport is best accessible by a long-range missile and probably would not be on anyone's primary target list.
Long and short: I don't see anything inherently sinister in the possibility of a huge underground complex beneath DIA, and frankly, I hope and pray someone in our government was thinking that far ahead in order to build a new, updated emergency shelter. I DON'T think there's a huge underground tunnel between DIA and the NORAD station at Cheyenne Mountain. There, you'd be talking about an engineering feat on the order of the tunnel under the English Channel. You'd also be setting off seismic sensors right and left, and I can't find any record of that happening.
<><
Yes, you're right, Jim! Every time my thoughts begin to sour on the subject(s), I'm drawn back to a place of peace about them and reminded that my timing is not His. Other pieces of the whole are being moved into place and my only role (so far) was to do my part.
In the meantime, I'm being strengthened in my loyalty to His voice, over the din of man/the enemy. There is plenty of "See...I told you it would be a dead end" and "Why don't you think about getting back into teaching?" to fight off. It's really challenging to stand your ground with others who aren't keen on hearing that you're following the Spirit's direction. Sounds too much like "hearing voices"!
how sad that we can tell that the Spirit is leading us because it's something out of our comfort zone-me too. not sure what that says about us though
Good morning everyone from Okieland.
What a beautiful day it is and I wish I could explain the joy that is filling my heart right now. I woke up with my cup overflowing and it is just getting greater and greater. I haven't done anything to create it and I can't find a reason either. So, I take it as a God Gift and cherish HIM even more.
I read the comments about DIA and all I can say is, who knows what the brains were being fed when they built the project. But, don't you think it is a stretch of the imagination to assume it is a safe house for our government that is located in Washington, DC. I mean if the one in WV would be unacceptable for emergency deployment, what does that make DIA? You know those people up there don't move very fast except when it is trickery. Besides that, it would be more convenient for Ms P's use than anyone else but who is willing to spend that much money to prolong that life? Sound cruel? Remember, she is probably pushing 60 real hard and the goal is to shed at least 6 million non contributing and productive citizens before 2019.
Another scenario please.
Besides that, what makes any of us think there will not be a high altitude EMG attack first to knock out all forms of communication and travel?
We still have our old set up in our fireplace with logs (real ones) and plenty of timber around here to heat, cook and send smoke signals. Remember, we are living in the original Indian Territory and hunting by Native Americans is allowed. Hubby is one! So if you get short on any of those things, come on down We have a big, big back yard. And yes, I do know how to survive in the worst of times because I have done that many, many occasions.
Jen, I know what you mean about jobs that you take when you follow your own reasons instead of asking God.
My last job was like that...it had so many things going for it (salary, hours, location, meeting interesting people, etc.) that I just assumed it was good for me and that God would use me in it.
It only took me two days to realize what a big mistake I had made and that I hadn't really taken it to God in prayer. I quit the job after three months with a commitment to never let that happen again.
People enter into marriages that way, too..."God brought him/her into my life", and never really pray to God about His will.
Why I won't be celebrating Earth Day today....
Earth Day Hoopla
I say we begin a "Creation Day" observance instead!
Creation Day! I love it!
We can start by celebrating with a big juicy steak and a giant salad!
I'm glad you posted that "Earth Day" article.
I just picked up our 5yr old daughter from school & she told me in the car- "I really wanted to tell my teacher this but I didn't: Earth day is when you bow down to the earth!" (As in a negative tone.)
Oh man. This is a Christian Pre-school & what she tells her teacher - they must really think I'm nuts.
I'm probably one of the few if not the only Mom who knows what is behind (and informs others of) all of these secular practices and honorary days.
She got it from this morning when she said to me: "It's earth day today!" I had just rolled my eyes and said "Yeah, it the day where the some people worship mother earth".
What do you think? Should I just not say anything or is it good that the kids know about this stuff at such a young age? I really don't want them to get programmed w/the a deceptive "agenda".
Her teacher read a book about “Earth Day” & is teaching them about planting plants, picking up trash, recycling, etc…
That in it's self isn't bad but I guess I'm not thrilled w/the fact she chose "Earth Day" for the lesson. It reinforces honoring the secular day.
The News is up...
The situation is really coming to a head. PA wants it all, Israel won't budge (yeah, Bibi), Russia is absorbing everything around it.. the bear grows and Turkey expands it's friendship base.

JEN,
I love the idea of Creator Day and why not! If you can get the right blogs to start it it will become like a giant light set on a high hill. I will join it too, committee and work to establish if you need me.
By the way, did any of you catch the outrage the news media was in last night over the press corps being shut out of the protest against the Pressing dent (you know what I mean and this avoids the crawler for using the other office title). There was a big protest in Washington DC and the DC police would not allow the press to get near to take pictures. I caught it on one of the cable news sites but I don't remember which one. I will Google it but I bet I can get a lot better results using Bing.
Anyway, we all have to remember that our greatest weapon against all of the planned attacks by the enemy of our souls is Prayer. Repentance and prayer plus asking our Abba to give us more boldness as the attempts at overcoming the Body of Christ intensify. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but are might in pulling down the STRONGHOLDS OF THE ENEMY! Get those suits on! Stand tall, charge!
The whole thing boils down to the simple fact that the enemy has sit down at the table with our leaders and has been accepted by them. Taking out the people who are presently there won't do a bit of good unless you take out the ruler of that domain. Prayer is the only way to do it and holding fast to the provisions that Christ paid for.
We can't wait until 11:59 P.M. either.
Now I am going back out to make a place for my straw bale garden.

Idea for those w/ FB.... I just posted the following on my page:
"Love what David and Job learned about the Earth! Check out Psalm 33 and Job 38-42." (I linked them up to biblegateway from there.)
Also, a friend posted a youtube video on her FB page by CatholicVote...EarthDay2010. Can't find the link for it, but it should be easy to locate. Very cool marketing image!
Lisa,
We're facing the same thing. Yesterday the kids came home from preschool with a "coupon" for the local Disney store. If they took 6 alum. cans they'd get a free ballcap. This is a Brethern church and the director's husband is the pastor of a Mennonite church! I love her, but she (and the staff in general) are looking more and more gullible. The church just had a big campaign they called "The church has left the building." It was all about going out into the community and doing good works for one Sunday instead of gathering for the usual sermon/SundaySchool. Fine if that means taking the gospel to local nursing homes, etc. But some of the suggested projects were doing park clean up, helping install handicap equip, etc. Growing lukewarm all the while.
Our Josh is very into dinos and so I'm finding that I need to get caught up on my instruction for him here at home because he's already absorbing the evolution-minded chat that he hears in PBS shows and some videos we have about dinos. He said to me the other day...."Mom, snakes used to be lizards. They have little stumps where their lizard legs used to be. But they changed and now they're different." I countered with a different POV and he was very insistent that I was wrong. We'll have to decide soon who strongly to encourage them to rebut these things, but I'm leaning toward raising firmly independent-minded children, even if that means we butt heads because of it. I'd rather them be prepared to defend a differing opinion than cave to pressure to follow the crowd. God will protect and keep them within reach of His sheperd's hook and draw them back if needed. But without that initial foundation, I don't have that same confidence.
Today there was an Earth Day commercial on about a girl choosing not to take a taxi/walk instead to help save the world. One of the kids said we could do the same thing to help out, but I asked them if we could really save the world. Josh replied that "only God can save the world. We can just not litter." So that's a good start toward him recognizing that we live in this world, but not of it.
Great article from a former lib on the whole earth day mentality
Jen
might I suggest some material such as answers for kids from the answers in genesis website about the flood and dinosaurs. they also have some pretty cute dvd's
jib,
For Easter, we got him the dino book by Ken Hamm. Pictures are great - he loves to look at it in detail. The section showing dinos on the ark threw him for a loop and all the kids laughed and said 'dinos weren't on the ark with Noah!' so you can see how far along they already are toward accepting that as a fact (not getting into the old/new Earth topic here, but if one side is going to be presented exclusively, shouldn't the other side at least be put out there as a differing opinion, too?) I have to admit that it was a very strange picture to look at for me, too! It led to a good discussion about God's original intent for us to live harmoniously with creation and how that got messed up when sin entered the picture. They have a good understanding of that already. It's these other details that get absorbed along the way which will inch them further and further away from Biblical truth over a period of time. I have a lot of backfilling to do so I can answer his questions. They're quickly getting past the point where generalities are accepted.
Pastor catches fishermen
On our way to dance class some kid drew up a HUGE cardboard box display of the earth/animals (colored in crayons) w/"Save the Earth" slogans all over it. It was propped up @ an intersection.
I guess the public school system is doing a great job w/their ultimate "agenda".
Then today I asked my Lib/Obama loving friend what would it take to convince her that Christ was coming back soon? Recently it's been at least a natural disaster per. week but is there a number that would convince her that God is trying to get people's attention?
She absolutely would not answer the question. And now I have a pretty good understanding as to why. It's because she would be one of those people you read about in Revelation still cursing God as judgment is being poured out on their heads.
'Her' god does not use these types of methods nor would judge people w/anything hurtful.
She converted to Catholism @ 16 but admitted to NEVER reading the Bible. They didn't read it in Church or in Mass. She's 63 now & grew up w/religion as a "personal" matter and not something people should discuss & there should be a definite separation of Church & State. (She's not Catholic or anything now- but she does think that her dead mother can hear her when she talks to her.)
She mentioned that the "very smart" scientists say the earth is billions of years old & the Bible doesn't support that. (Therefore the Bible is wrong.)
She's never seen so many "Christians" spew out hate on T.V. against the President & thinks they hate him just because he's black & their racist. I asked her which one's were onto this "hate" speech & then she mentioned T.V. Preachers, George Bush, & Rush Limbaugh.
I can go on and on....(and don't worry I defended the faith & all of her 'points') but what I noticed from this recent conversation compared to pervious chats about this subject is that she has journeyed even further down the road away from God.
She said the "World-(meaning worldview) is changing now toward a new direction (out w/the old in w/the new). I said "Yes, and we are on the opposite sides- you realize we're sort of enemies."
She agreed to that but somehow thinks we can continue our friendship though it all- but you know- I'm not so sure of that.
These people w/o God & who are embracing the "progressive" mindset
have a deep seated hate for a Holy Righteous God. They don't seek the God of the Bible it seems because they don't like His style & as God's Word states "love unrighteousness".
And of course anyone representing the Biblical God won't be liked as well but rather scorned & considered outcasts.
So I guess we might as well start getting used to the idea because it looks like this will be the future of our Nation. The masses are deceived and being deceived.
They will embrace the "progressive" ideas & ideologies of the Anti-Christ & will be so in tune w/him that they'll curse Jesus & kill the Saints. They hate what they think our God represents & will believe the lie & lies to come.
Anyway- not that I didn't already know this but today it just hit home when confronted w/a close friend. Watching this progress in real time is quite sobering.
As the light get brighter & the darkness becomes darker- the sword of division will become sharper.
I give you all THIS Please share with all of your friends and let's get to work praying and believing for our nations and our peoples. Only God can turn these times around.
Besure to turn your audio on and it is a video that is very, very special.
Grany
I want to share this with you before I start slouching towards bed. I know there's some Catholic stuff in there that some of you won't agree with, but I hope you can agree with the basic message:
Priest Who Sees 'Souls' Believes Phenomena Have Increased Because 'Veil' Is Now Thinning
Why all the reports of spiritual phenomena? How come: the sudden, overwhelming public interest in spirits, ghosts, and apparitions? Why, in the Christian and non-Christian worlds, are there so many claims of the supernatural?
Angels. The deceased. And, yes, demons.
The reason, according to a gifted priest from St. Louis named Father Mark Bozada, is that the "veil" is "thinning."
As we approach special times, the supernatural, he says, is being made more manifest.
<><
Jim C, I don't know where the "Veil" is thinning" origionally came from but Marzulli has been saying that quote since I've known about him. So definately agreed on that one.
This was posted on RR about the NWOInvisible Empire A New World Order Defined Full
Hi Guys, This is rather long but interesting. Thanks to End Times at the Caffeine Journal!
There were 4 earthquakes in the Johannesburg area on Wednesday, all under 2.5 so they are not reported in the USGS weekly earthquake report, see site: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.html. Earthquakes to us but earth tremors to the real suffers of quakes. SA has maybe 1 earth tremor every 10 years....
And people go blindly on believing that everything is fine and there are no problems in this world! How is this for the start of things to come? And Christians take this type of 2 standard bulling and do nothing about it!!
US Army dis-invites Franklin Graham to National Day of Prayer:
"Evangelist Franklin Graham's invitation to speak at a Pentagon prayer service has been rescinded because his comments about Islam were inappropriate, the Army said Thursday.
Graham, the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham, in 2001 described Islam as evil. More recently, he has said he finds Islam offensive and wants Muslims to know that Jesus Christ died for their sins." [Absolutely true, Mr. Graham! Good for you that you are preaching the truth while the majority on earth are either ignorant or blinded by 'political correctness']
Hysterically, the article goes on to quote Nihad Awad, of the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as saying:
Graham's invitation would have sent entirely the wrong message at a time when troops are stationed in Muslim nations. Promoting one's own religious beliefs is something to be defended and encouraged, but other faiths should not be attacked or misrepresented in the process.
Good point there Nihad. It's not like you see Muslims (following Mohammad's example by) attacking other faiths or people (?!?!?!?)

Our whole area today is under a very severe weather warning as all of the ingredients are ripe for massive tornado outbreaks. You know what kind of prayer we have already spoken but sometimes, the load clap of thunder can send me under the table. I need clear vision, wisdom and calmness for today. So, yes, I am pleading the blood of Jesus to protect and deliver us all from the promised storm by our weather experts. In fact, I am asking Him to break that storm cell apart and send it into oblivion.
To go with what Lisa posted earlier: April 22, 2010 1:38 PM about the persecution of Christians, see www.wnd.com
They estimate that over 176 000 Christians have been martyred between the middle of 2008 to the middle of 2009.
Has it started?
Lisa, references to "The Veil" have been around since longer than I can remember. It may even date back to the Middle Ages, when theologians started studying just what gifts we lost when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden. That's where the concept of "preternatural" was first developed. It's not "supernatural", which would refer to something coming from the spirit world and could be either from G_D or from the Evil One. "Preternatural" would be a heightened awareness of or sensitivity to spiritual things or gifts of the Spirit, such as sensing when something has been blessed or (in this case) being able to see angels.
This might be a good example: Throughout Christian history, there have been people (usually saints, but not always) who have been able to tell which hosts in a pile of hosts have been consecrated at Mass for Holy Communion. Those who can simply sense which hosts are consecrated have a preternatural gift; those who know because "their guardian angel told them" have a supernatural gift (i.e., angelic communication). Supernatural gifts are always viewed with much more caution because you have to be able to discern if the gift is from G_D or NOT from G_D.
To put it another way, the charisms of the Holy Spirit listed in Scripture (Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear [Respect] of the Lord) are all preternatural gifts, a restoration in part of gifts Adam and Eve possessed but were lost because of the Fall.
I'm sorry for going on like this, but you have to be able to understand a gift before you can use that gift in the way G_D intended. So to reiterate, the idea of there being a "veil" between the spiritual world and the material world has been around for decades and probably centuries.
<><
Jim C, I understand that the concept has been around-but I was wondering about the actual "Veil is thinning" quote.
(I thought this was good today.)
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
Nahum 2:1-10 Nineveh shall not put aside this judgment; there is no counsel or strength against the Lord. God looks upon proud cities, and brings them down. Particular account is given of the terrors wherein the invading enemy shall appear against Nineveh. The empire of Assyria is represented as a queen, about to be led captive to Babylon. Guilt in the conscience fills men with terror in an evil day; and what will treasures or glory do for us in times of distress, or in the day of wrath? Yet for such things how many lose their souls!

It isn't the mercury preservative that's causing problems; it's the presence of DNA from aborted fetuses that's the problem. The fact that this study was released by the EPA makes this story even more interesting.
A Curse Cannot Alight If The Spirit Is 'Right,' And Spring Is The Time For Spiritual 'Cleaning'
I thought this apropos, considering this news story about police in Bridgeport, CT investigating several incidents of occult practices, where animal parts have been arranged in parks and such in ways that suggest they were placed there to curse someone.
It reminded me of a Bible study I took in college, that pointed out how in Biblical times, the spoken word was considered to be something living and vital. When you uttered a curse against someone, it would travel until it found the person being cursed and "apply itself" to him or her. It's what makes the statement that "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us" so powerful to the early Christians.

Short film contest to bridge the divideFormer British prime minister Tony Blair has announced the launch of a global short film competition, with the aim of promoting inter-faith dialogue.
In an exclusive interview with Gulf Times yesterday, Blair said that the aim of the initiative was to bring young people of different faiths together and allow them to present a positive picture of their religion to the rest of the world.
The competition will accept entries in eight languages from people under the age of 25 of all faiths from the world over. Blair argued that it would provide a chance for young Muslims, in particular, to illustrate their religion in a manner different to what is often portrayed in the media and popular culture.
“There is often huge misrepresentation and wrong thinking about what Islam means,” he said, adding “I think therefore that it will be particularly interesting to present to a Western audience that ‘this is actually what my faith means to me – this is the Muslim perspective’ and correct some of the misapprehensions and misunderstandings around faith.”
......
“In the end, I believe that the single most important thing for the 21st century is to get people of different religious faiths to live side by side in peace with each other,” he said.
I have news for Mr. Blair. We have been doing this very thing, living close to our neighbors of different faiths, for a long, long time. We didn't need quaint little films to establish manners..... Nor government mandates or stupid laws. WHY do you suppose we have been doing this in the USA all of these years? Because it is part of being a born again, blood bought Christian. Jesus commanded that we love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, minds and souls, and our neighbors as our selves.
But that doesn't mean we have to lose our head over the issue. So, if the Muslims want to go around chop, chopping everyone who isn't one of them, they better get some better PR.
My next door neighbor on the south side (really up close to boot) is Hindu; his cousin just two doors to the north is Hindu and the gentleman up the street who is recovering from Cancer is muslim.
Our neighbor to the west is JW and the one to the northwest is Mormon. Mr. Blair can come here and do his own video and see that there is nothing difficult about it. It comes natural.

Well you know the ultimate goal - accept all religions as equal & they can continue on "as long as" they don't believe/promote that there is ONLY way to heaven through following Jesus Christ.
That's too offensive & heart convicting. They want to keep their gods- they don't like ours.
Lisa,
you are right about that because if we are too intimidated to speak up and share the Love of God, evil will only become stronger. The originator of the evil is the one I am speaking about because it is all done to counterfeit God's provisions.
You know I am not keeping silent, don't you! In fact, both the Hindu and Muslim neighbors all decorated their houses for Christmas. They think our holiday is great. Of course, they are still Hindu/Muslim but it is an open door and when given the opportunity, I will call on them to share Jesus.
I did the same thing when teaching ESL...many of my students were Muslim and I was often invited to their Ramadan feasts, etc. I went many times and it was a great honor for the parents to host a teacher (imagine that! Most of my American parents wouldn't even return a phone call! Ha!) I went to show that I loved their child/ren and them as well. In return, I had a great relationship with the children and was able to share about my faith with them many times, too. I used the new-culture context as a way to explain Christmas, Easter, even St. Pat's day and idea of the Trinity/clover. Never heard a bad word about it from the families either.
I had wanted to use my language skills abroad, but the Lord brought the mission field to me and it was a wonderful 8-years of sharing and loving His children.

Good to see you too, Jeri.
Also some really good thoughts have been posted by you guys. I kinda get the impression God's using you all to send me snippets of messages.
If this is true it's beyond mentally sick.

LET'S CELEBRATE!
Oh, this is definitely the day that the Lord has made and I can't help but rejoice in it!
I have to SHOUT something to all of you, that is if I can calm down enough to form my sentences to make sense.
I walked into the frontroom to check on what DH wanted for lunch and he was stretched out in the recliner. Joel Osteen was on the TV and I knew Jim would be watching him and I shouldn't be talking right then. But DH had already heard the sermon on Friday night so, it was alright.
As Joel was getting ready to end his broadcast, I knew he would be leading the church in the sinners prayer like he always does. So, I zipped my lips and then I heard Jim saying the prayer along with Joel. I about came unglued! After Joel had finished, DH looked up and there were tears in his eyes and then he smiled. I asked him if he had ever prayed that prayer before and he said, "Every time".
He then asked me if he thought God heard him or something to that affect. I said Jim, God hears every sinners prayer when they accept Jesus Christ into their hearts. So, yes, He heard you just fine. Without saying another word, he said "I am goning to Heaven with all of you then!". No question, just a very bold statement.
I am so excited that for every letter I have typed, I have had to backspace and make corrections at every line. HE'S SAVED, PEOPLE; MY JIM IS SAVED!
Hallelujah, praise God, and Maranatha all at the same time.
Dancing, dancing, spinning, spinning, bowing to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
Hallelujah! Praises, praises,
Hallelujah!
Praise God, Grany!!
Hyde,
Yes, yes! Praise God. When we think that God isn't doing anything about our prayer requests, that is when He really surprises us. My DHJ is so encouraged by Joel's ministry and who would have thought. But Joel's message was just the right one for him and no matter what I thought about it, our prayers were answered.
Out of the box and into DJH's heart.
Grany,
THAT IS BEST NEWS EVER AT THE CAVE!!!
I'm so happy and excited for you and Jim. If we could only hear the noise in heaven right now with angels rejoicing along with you and all of us who know you and have come to love and pray for Jim because of you.
WOW THAT IS SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME, GRANY!!!!!!!
SOOO WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!
Absolutely the best news you could have shared, Grany! And now I'm off to move that prayer into the praise column of my journal! Hallelujah!
Blessings and hugs!
Jen
Grany,
It seemed to me from that last statement your made about Jim-something to do w/end times & God shaking things up? Anyway- I had thought- you know- it seems like he's coming around.
And lo and behold- he was!!!
Now do you think he'll graduate from Joel Olsteen & get into the meat of The Word? Has he / does he read the Bible?
This event must be one of the main highlights of your life! Can't get much better than this on earth anyway.
Praise the Lord!
Now get this one. My friend whose husband is addicted to Fox News & Current events is changing for the better.
Her daughter is the one who would sit dad down for a Bible study.
Now I'm not so sure that it's so much his Bible reading (which is minute) but that he's also been addicted to Glen Beck.
She can hardly believe it. Now I'm really curious as to what is transpiring here. Hummmmm.
So tonight we go to a horse show w/various acts called "The Night of the Horse. Who opens the entire show? A group of Native American Indians. They come dancing-chanting w/incense out into the middle of the arena & pray to "Mother Earth" & invoke the spirits. It was actually a spiritual religious ceremony!
Then they did it again at the closing of the show! I mean really-can't I go anywhere w/o someone calling up demonic spirits? All we really wanted to do was take a break & watch horses.
(I won't go into the detail of where my mind then wandered off to thinking about the future time of the Anti-Christ & how the people will chant & work themselves up into a religious frenzy.)
Grany,
Tears are streaming down my face.
AWESOME-AWESOME-AWESOME
Thank you, Lord!!!

:)
Whoo hoo, Granny!!! Celebrating with you. How exciting.
Prayer request:
My sister Monica passed away on Thursday after much suffering. I know she is with the Lord but we are very sad needless to say. She leaves her six children and if you remember she was a widow for many years so they have no parents anymore. I appreciate your prayers for the family - and me as my heart is totally broken even though I know she is with our Lord.
Love you so, Rosalie
Grany,
Praise Jesus! Our Lord is mighty to save, He is mighty to save! Forever, author of salvation! He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave!
So happy for Jim. I will be so happy to meet him, and you, when we go to see our Lord.
Your excitment just flowed out of your words on the page, I could tell. This made me cry :)
In Christ's love,
Diana
Grany, I'm so happy for you and for Jim. I'm sure your smile muscles are getting a workout!
A number of times I have seen the Lord work through men who I thought were dishonest or at least misguided. My mother watched a certain televangelist (who I believe is dishonest) prayed "with" him while watching for her needs and I, not knowing of her need or her prayer, ended up providing the answer to her prayer. She told me afterwards and I had to chuckle at myself and thank the Lord that He allowed me the honor of being used. Another man I know accepted Jesus while watching Benny Hinn. It turned his entire family around.
So, while I know it is right to point out the errors of those who are preaching for their own gain and are leading the flock astray, I always remind myself of Paul's words:
Phil 1:15-18 15 Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. 16 The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former proclaim Christ out of rivalry, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment [or for their own gain]. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.
Anne,
That's a great point.
Some Christians twist this concept when they are involved in the midst of a false teacher.
They reason "since" people are coming to see this person & are being "saved"- therefore the teacher/prophet is not false & everything is Spirit led.
"If" they were false then nobody could be saved reasoning.
What is does show is that the Holy Spirit can use whatever truth comes out (howbeit limited) to reach the person's heart and save them regardless.
Then hopefully that person will discover that the false teacher is nothing but a white washed tomb & go onto find spiritual food.
Otherwise they would be in jeopardy of remaining on the spiritual milk bottle unless of course they took the initiative & studied on their own to find the truth & entire council of God.
It will be interesting to see if my friend's husband will come to Christ- even if it's through his daughter's urging & watching (Mormon) Glen Beck.
I remember our pastor mentioning that in married couples "usually" it's the wife who comes to the Lord first. Then....the husband may follow her lead. Something about women being more openly sensitive to spiritual things- because of our emotional make up or something along those lines.
Well, now that I think of it- it was Eve who listened to the serpent 1st & then Adam followed her lead. I guess not much has changed. }:
What the devil means for harm- the Lord can turn around for good.(:
Grany
words can not express how overjoyed I am for both you and Jim. guess washing all those dishes helped :-) that and all the prayers. I had a word from God some time ago that this would come to pass and shared it with you but I will admit I had begun to wonder if it was ever going to be so. Tears of gratitude for God's unwavering faithfulness to His words this morning. All things are answered in His time and I think when we least expect it. wow.
Lisa
I feel your pain. seems like anything for building etc which might cater to our large native American population has to be blessed by their shammans

thought of you
Stephen Hawking says aliens exist and we shouldn't talk to them because they are dangerous
other than his thought processes are riddled with revisionist history vis a vis the Indians and Columbus as well as evolutionary mumbo jumbo he'd be right about how dangerous they are if one accepts the premise that they are really fallen angels and mean harm and not good to mankind.
you know, the disease he has is almost universally fatal within a few years of coming down with it. weird thought for the day-he actually fits some of what we know about the AC-has no use for women after the normal course of things, he has a wound to the head already (more or less he certainly has a hugely debilitating neurologic condition), he's comes from what was part of the old Roman Empire, and now he's talking about aliens. wouldn't surprise me to find after the Rapture that he is the one promoting the alien taking people away thing since he already has said they are up there in gargantuan ships just waiting to attack or strip us of natural resources. can you imagine how impressed people would be if he started walking and talking again?
I'm reminded of the prophet Baalam who would sell his services to the highest bidder, in the case of Numbers 22-23, the evil king Balak of Moab. But Baalam was unable to curse God's people and only blessings could be uttered by the prophet, despite his desire to do the opposite.
I'm not making a comparison between Joel Osteen and Baalam! Rather, I'm reveling in God's sovereignty and faithfulness in getting the job done, no matter what obstacles present themselves. I know in my own experience, I've had people tell me later on that something I said was revolutionary in their thinking but I couldn't remember what could have made such an impact. I believe that the Holy Spirit can take spoken words and translate/transform them into heard words that communicate the message that is exactly needed in that moment. I think it's an emboldening revelation because it takes off the pressure we put on ourselves to "have the right words" before we share the good news. Even if we speak like Moses or feel unqualified, the Holy Spirit still works things out between our mouths and their ears.
jib,
I just read that article, but had the opposite thought! LOL! It struck me how amazed people would be if he fit the pieces of his theory together and came up with the belief that there was a Creator, there is good/evil and the events of the world today are supporting the prophecies of long ago. Talk about needing the transforming power of the Spirit! But then again, nothing is impossible when God is involved. I know we're all counting on that for someone we know :-)
Speaking of Native Americans...
Our brother Jim (Grany's DH) is one. I was at the eye doctor the other day and picked up the April issue of Charisma Magazine. My eye doctor is Seventh Day Adventist and the waiting area has no questionable magazines whatsover. No People, US, etc... Mostly Christian magazines, some Bibles, and a few secular magazines that are neither immoral nor hostile to a Christian worldview.
Anyway, there was an ad in the April issue of Charisma magazine that was spreading the word about The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. There was partial list of leaders from around the world who have pledged their support to the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. One of the leaders pictured in the ad was a Native American brother in Christ, Richard Twiss.
He is the President of Wiconi International, a ministry to Native Americans.
All that to say, we definitely have wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ who are Native American and who are not bound by the spirits that Lisa saw expressing themselves at the horse show. I think every culture has had spirits and sins that they have been particularly vulnerable and subject to.
By the way, the Charisma website has just launched a free online version of the magazine. I registred and downloaded the April issue (it has some good stuff in it) and it was a VERY WELL done online version. It's pdf in color (identical to the magazine) with some added audio and video content.
Grany,
Just curious. What tribe (or tribes) does your husband come from? Richard Twiss is Rosebud Lakota/Sioux.
Jim G, Thanks for the Native American Ministry link- Now I have another resource if I have a chance to witness to one.
In fact I have probably around 1/4 Native American blood myself. My Bio-Mother (grandparents adopted & raised me) traced down her lineage & was thinking about applying to live on the reservation. I forgot what tribe she is related to- a smaller offshoot one. My father's side has quite a bit of Cherokee.
In High School I was "thinking" about taking the bus home but it also took the Barona Indian girls home on it & they were one of the meanest girls around. Basically you sat where they told you to or your life was at stake.
Rather than eventually getting into a fight w/them I just decided that bus route wasn't my cup of tea.
At school they were never a problem. Just kept to themselves & didn't mix w/the other kids.
God, golf, and loneliness: Obama and Bill Graham finally meet
Wow. This an interesting (and inspiring) list.

Jib, I did see a debate once where Hawking didn't believe in "God' per se but admitted there could be "aliens" or life on other planets. Of course he couldn't respond as to who would have created those beings.
I recently came across some "alien" propaganda flying around (lol-flying around!)
that has "good Aliens" vs. "bad Aliens" going on. The bad ones you can't trust are coming for harm but the good ones will step in @ just the right time- save the earth & people from the "bad guys".
They'll tell mankind that they are the Elohiem & created us, they will give us the technology for eco-friendly fuels/resources, teach us how to save the planet, teach us how to achieve our maximum "god like" state, & on & on w/the lies.
The info comes from "channelers" who are communicating w/these (demons) but promote this mindset on Utube in order to warn mankind about the upcoming scenario.
What I thought was interesting in this particular case was that instead of only claiming to be "good Aliens" as most do- this group was putting forth both a "good" & "evil" type.
(Of course WE know there is no "good" type.)
Right now they have The Science of Aliens at the local Air & Space Museum.
How's that for a subtle suggestion into the minds of children?
Someone made a bad by not immediately informing his DFW re the good news about Grany's DHJ.
Mac, My 8 yr old daughter has informed me that she is NOT going to marry a "city slicker". I told her that I don't care who she marries as long as he is a Christian. And a strong in the faith one- not a fake.
Her preference would be one from Australia. I told her I knew someone from down under & that perhaps he could possibly keep an eye on how some other 8 yr old Christian boys are turning out.
She made this stipulation: "Well, just make sure that he has the accent"- I don't want one w/o the accent."
Then her 5yr old sister & 10yr old girlfriend chimed in- they all want to marry an Aussie too! Ones w/the accent.
So keep your eyes peeled for three good Christian boys out there. You've got a posse of young gals out here waiting for them.
Lisa,
Tell your daughters I said:
NA NA NANA NA
:-)
Lisa, I showed that article on Hawking to one of my sons two days ago and he said, "that man looks like he's bound up by an evil spirit." I think that says it all.
I feel compelled to pray for him and believe it or not, Oprah. I just keep praying that she will return to the faith. It's difficult to hear the things she's said about God. But she needs Him none the less.
Grany...praise God about the news re: your husband. May he grow in his faith and add to it daily.
Vicki
Thought you guys might enjoy this poem I just read:
I’ve never made a fortune, and it’s probably too late now,
But don’t worry about that much, I’m happy anyhow.
And as I go along life’s way, I’m reaping better than I sowed.
I’m drinking from my saucer,‘cause my cup has overflowed.
Haven’t got a lot of riches, and sometimes the going’s tough.
But I’ve got loving ones all around me, And that makes me rich enough.
I thank God for his blessings, And the mercies He’s bestowed.
I’m drinking from my saucer,‘cause my cup has overflowed.
I remember times when things went wrong, My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke, And the sun peeped through again.
So Lord, help me not to gripe, About the tough rows I have hoed.
I’m drinking from my saucer,‘cause my cup has overflowed.
If God gives me the strength and courage, When the way grows steep and rough.
I’ll not ask for other blessings, I’m already blessed enough.
And may I never be too busy, to help others bear their loads.
Then I’ll keep drinking from my saucer,‘Cause my cup has overflowed!
Lori
interesting that your son said that. How and why Hawking has lived this long with that diagnosis has always been a mystery to me. Either he doesn't have ALS and has something similar or there is something else at work. I'm beginning to think something else at work after yesterday's article. He does look rather tortured doesn't he.
and just what is wrong with little American boys? of course Trevor has so many "girlfriends" right now it's hard to keep track. he is quite popular with the girls.
God's good morning everyone!
I am really feeling lazy this morning and very difficult to get awake. Hubby hurt so bad last night (neck and shoulders) he slept, what little he did sleep, in his recliner.
I am being very quiet while he tries to get some more sleep. The doctor has diagnosed the cause to be arthritic changes in his neck and upper spine area.
Being quiet is boring and now I am sleepy too.
I am going to try to answer some questions and if miss your comment, I will make up for it later. Eyes don't work too well at half mast.
JIM G. Jim is Choctaw and his grandfather on his mother's side was 75%. Now I have no idea how that percentage is figured but he was one handsome man and was part of the Trail of Tears to the Indian Territory. DH's maternal grandmother was about 1/3 but didn't look it at all. To boot, DH grandpa was a medical doctor with his training coming from the State of Georgia and was really a genuine doctor. He set up practice in Whitefield, OK after they were relocated and was a muchly loved physician. I believe his wife was part Cherokee. We have his role number but she wasn't listed on it. Haven't checked the Cherokee rolls though.
My father's mother had the last name of Cristy but she came from one of the Ohio tribes and was a fierce looking woman. I remember those high cheek bones, broad forehead and a square jaw. Scared the daylights out of me and you better believe I was very careful how I behaved. My grandfather on my daddy's side was French and a real sweetheart. She was 6 feet, 2 inches tall and he was 5 feet, 5 inches tall. Or should I say 'short'?
I want to thank everyone for celebrating with me about DH conversion. I really got a double blessings from your comments and I also want to thank all of you for your prayers. Just think, a lot of you have prayed for Jim since 2007. We never give up, always stand in and believe that God will deliver.
Now, as for the celebration Lisa shared and the dancing. As you all know, Oklahoma is the home of the 5 Civilized Tribes that the US Government force marched to Indian Territory to relocate to dedicated lands. There are many books written about this event so I won't take up space here but you need to be very careful in what you read regarding this move. One thing that is so very important is knowing that most of the ones from Georgia and Alabama were not poor wild men/women/children. Most of the Cherokee/Choctaw and their off shoots were large land owners with servants and high social standing. There were not fierce warriors looking for scalps.
They still have their dances (stomp dances) and yet it is probably safe to say that 90% of the Cherokee and Choctaw are born again believers. The hardest thing for all of them is to separate the Spirit from the spirit of their ancestors. But I love the Cherokee's and they are a beautiful people. When we have join worship services it is all Holy Spirit and nothing else. The ones who accomplish the severing of their ancestral traditions and practices tolerate none other than Yahweh's Spirit. My best friend is a very good example but there are more wonderful Christians among them than the average races present.
Oklahoma is God's Country and we didn't vote for the funny colored BOO!
LORI,
I agree with your son! Have always felt that way and truthfully, I cannot watch him without wanting to rebuke the demon that is causing it. Now you all laugh but that was way before I was baptized with the Holy Spirit. ALS patients do not live that long, as JIB has stated. It just doesn't happen that way.
I loved the poem too and thank you Michigander for sharing it with us.
Grany, we praise the Lord with you.
Re: Stephen Hawking, I heard a few years ago that his wife was a strong Christian. He continues to be resistant.
My wife watched the funeral service on FOX of the WV miners. I watched the first part, then went to bed for the afternoon. She said it was very inspiring, and God was greatly glorified by the service. The whole service was broadcast on FOX, due to the presence of Obama.
He seemed out of place, and spent his time during the processions at the beginning looking for someone to recognize him and give him the respect he deserved. Biden blended in, but Obama stood out significantly. Yet, because Obama wanted to be seen as a compassionate president, he caused the service to be broadcast to the world. I do not believe that they would have showed the whole thing if he was not there. So, he was used of God, even in his narcissistic state.
It was interesting listening to what Billy Graham did not say regarding Obama, than what he did say. "They talked, and Billy prayed" that is all. Billy Graham will never say a negative thing about any president, but it is interesting how little positive things he did say.
God continues to work thru all.
Wayne
Wayne
which wife? I think he's on number 2 or 3. He divorced one wife to marry the nurse that was his caregiver. I don't remember if he's still married to that one or not.
Wayne, What stood out to me in that article was : Obama "prayed" for Billy Graham & Billy Graham prayed for Obama.
I thought to myself- Obama prayed for Billy Graham? I wonder which of his cornucopia of god's he prayed to?
I'm glad Franklin Graham was there to watch out for Pop's from that sidewinder.
Ok, ok,... I know....... truly I'm "Trying" to be nice. Just protective of Grandpa Graham.
Jib,
Now there's nothing wrong w/your good ole American boy. I think she envisions the "outback" as a place to find an outdoors’ man type of guy. She loves animals, dust, and likes sports more than being inside. (horses, gym, dance, tennis, hiking,...)
To be honest I think she's looking for someone not quite like her dad. He's a wanna be cowboy. A city slicker who loves horses (although only rides "english") but would love to own a real working ranch.
The problem is that his dad was a real dude- worked in the steel mills in Ohio & knew how to fix things. Bill figured he could make enough money to be able to hire people to do that kind of work & thought of it in a negative light.
The down side of that view is that he can barely figure out how to repair anything around the house. If I can't fix it then we always have to hire someone to do the simplest of things.
I think Lorraine sees my frustration w/that because I spent most of my childhood w/a Mr. Fix it Dad who was a carpenter in the CB's & am now the household handywoman.
So what's really funny now is that since I resisted learning from my mom- sewing, ironing, cooking- domestic stuff- (hated it) and hung out w/dad- I'm great at fixing things & crappy @ what I'm supposed to be good at.
I just don't think she wants to be like me- the one fixing things, moving things, & hard manual labor.
(smart girl!) **I'm not especially overjoyed w/the role I got myself into either.
Aw, but Lisa,
God molded and fitted you to your husband because God knew DH needed a 'fixer'. I will own up to something not really known. My love is doing all of those things you wish you didn't do and I learned all of the things you shunned. I love to sew, cook, decorate, you know, house things. But I get great joy out of the nuts, bolts, screws, tools, saw, glue, varnish, sanding, painting, and the list goes on. My husband and his father owned one of the biggest home building companies in this area during the 50's, 60's and 70's. DHJ is a fantastic designer but please don't hand him a hammer or ask him to paint. His talent was in putting it all together and hiring others to do the manual part. I love the manual part. Or should say, I did. Now I just live on the memories of things we have done. But, we work great together until he assumes the "supervisor" role. He is 6'3" tall and I am 5'3" short. He gets the high places and I get the low. So I am low down helper. hehehe
I watched the broadcast during the time that the minister spoke and I thought he did great. Biden, well he just was raised differently but what else can we add about the 1?
He reminded me of a perfect portrayal of an undertaker.
The News is up...
Some shocking..link 48
Grany, I guess you’re right. At least D.H. isn't a food snob. He eats whatever I make & "usually" likes it. He could eat Pizza almost 24/7 if given the opportunity.
He takes the majority of his clothes to the cleaners for dry cleaning. Always has & always will. So that also covers shortening the pant legs sewing part.
Then the Interior Designer part of me kicks in & I have the rest of the house stuff covered.
So all in all I guess I don't have much to gripe about.
But- I have learned that if I "pretend" not to know how to do something he will at least attempt it. If successful- he will feel good about his accomplishment & actually repeat the same skill if necessary. So now I have help in replacing the light bulbs throughout the house!
Calvary Chapel & National Worship Leader Conference Alert This sure makes me sick.....
Lisa, I just found this item from Jimmy DeYoung's site, Prophecy Today.
I copied it because I can't get the hyper links to work for me today.
A world renowned scientist has warned mankind not to speak to aliens from outer space
April 26, 2010
Subscribe in a reader
World renowned scientist Stephen Hawking has warned humankind to avoid any contact with aliens from outer space which Hawking believes do exist among the 100 billion galaxies each containing hundreds of millions of stars in the universe. Hawking says alien life is almost certain to exist in many other parts of the universe not just in planets but perhaps in the center of stars or even floating in interplanetary space and may even exist in massive ships and be looking for resources on other planets.
Hawking says that to his mathematical brain the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational and the real challenge is to work out what what aliens might actually be like.
Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News
The statement by a world renowned scientist that aliens exist in outer space may sound like science fiction but there is an interesting link to Bible prophecy that will be played out in the last days.
The name "Stephen Hawking", a well known scientist in our world today is a name that is associated with many scientific discoveries and now he has come forward to say there are aliens in outer space. Hawking says that we should not seek them out but humanity should do everything to avoid them. I know that this sounds like a science fiction story but I am only reporting from a documentary from Hawking where he goes into further detail on the subject. Hawking warns that these aliens may invade the earth searching for more resources to sustain their existence and possibly to colonize the earth.
Bible prophecy does reveal in the book of Revelation the future event of creatures invading the earth from outer space (Revelation 9:1-13). These aliens, using the proper sense of the word, are referred to as locusts, but not any locusts that we have ever seen. They are evil angels that will attack humankind on the earth in the last days to kill one third of the earth's population (Revelation 9:13-20).
The report warning that we should not seek out aliens is an interesting precursor to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
Grany,
Just got back from three days at the Oregon Coast to read your fantastic news!!!!!
I cannot tell you how many times I thought of Jim at odd times of the day and night and felt such a burden to pray for him. I will continue to do so!
So happy for you both!
Grace
Well, I've got some interesting news. I'm not sure what it means, but here goes...
I've been accepted into a program to train people to get their RESNET Home Energy Rater Certification. I have absolutely NO idea what I'm getting myself into.
This program came about because the school got a grant to teach it for free. According to the info sheet on the school website:
RESNET is a nationally recognized training that teaches participants how to rate homes and buildings for energy efficiency.
Currently, there are two raters in the state of Iowa and there is a growing need for them as construction regulations increase in efforts to create a 'green' economy ... Throughout this training, participants will learn how to basics of energy efficiency, practice rating homes and take the written RESNET National Rater Test.
It then went on to list the requirements to qualify for the free training. Basically, if you were a warm body over the age of 18, you could apply. If necessary, they might look the other way about the body being warm. The program takes a week, M-Sat. and it starts next Monday.
So I've got a lot of anxiety going on now, trying to figure out how to do this. It's up in Dubuque, but for various reasons I can't crash at my ex's house, so I've got to get a room, etc. This is a radical career jump for me, and I don't even know what kind of job I'll be able to get at the end. Just say a prayer for me, please.

Jim C, OK- Praying for you. It shouldn't be too difficult to rate homes for energy efficiency. Wouldn't you check things like window ratings/insulation, A/C efficiency, solar energy, etc...?
Then the Govt. would give home owners some type of price break "if" their houses complied w/the recommended regulation for "Green" building materials?
Just beware of the people you may have to come in contact w/who worship the creation over the creator.
Grany, That's an interesting take on Jimmy DeYoung's site. If only I thought that was the "only" thing that was in the works.

You should have seen it today. Remember the lady I befriended that asked me to get her Bibles?
Today we gave them to her. Lorraine gave the kid's one to her 5 yr old daughter in front of all the little kids in the dance class.(The dance teacher is a Christian.)
She said "Here's a Bible" and the little girl asked "What's a Bible?"
Then another little girl (a twin girl) stepped up & told Lorraine that she would like to have one too!
She was so happy to get the Bible she came up & thanked me & I told her that her mom was going to teach her all about it.
Actually her mom feels a little intimidated by the adult Bible & was also excited to start out by reading the kid's version.

Mac, are you dropping a hint??
God's good morning everyone!
MR. CARROL, that is great news about your new venture. I am excited for you and have no qualms about your situation of lodging. You see, we have all prayed, God has to have his hands on the forming of this new job so, I expect the impossible along with the possible for you in this.
Oh, the honeymoon will take place either here or in heaven! Which ever happens first but we still have a few little minor details to see fulfilled before we 'fly away'.
Oh, I'll fly away oh Glory, I'll fly away.
HydieHo, go snooping around for a marriage certificate... then report back. ASAP!!!! lol

Just makes you want to move around the room, doesn't it! And I also like the very last image, sealed with the blood of the cross.

Yorkshire - why is it Britain's most haunted county?
The Daily Telegraph reports: “There have been nearly 1,000 reports of demonic activity in the past quarter of a century, with Yorkshire the nation's most ghostly county.
Encounters with devils, demons and evil spirits are as widespread today as they were in medieval times, researchers claim.”

you sound like my friend Teresa. my DH on the other hand can probably fix just about anything and we've started taking our son to the craft things at Lowe's and Home Depot so at least he knows which is the business end of a hammer.

exciting news and you'll do fine.

so when is the big day?
I LOVE Sarah Kelly (female singer on the JOC song). Heard her the first time when her song Not Quite Home Yet was playing on my radio alarm clock. It was a wonderful way to wake up!
With a screwdriver, I'm as useless as a one-armed paperhanger! I found the curved shower curtain rods at Tuesday Morning for under $20 and just tried to install it. The instructions were tiny, that's it, that's my excuse! My 18 yr old came in to see what all the commotion was about and in less than 5 minutes, he had it hung. Looks great, tomorrow he can do the other bathroom. I'll stick to cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting and planting. If DH keeps these hours up, I don't know what I'm going to do when my kids leave. Hopefully, we'll fly out of here by then.
Oh yeah, I make a mean pot of coffee! hehehehehhe
Lori, your screwdriver comment reminded me of something I just read. In an article about the growing Prepper movement, the woman being interviewed was talking about her efforts to get her family into the idea of self-reliance, and counted it as a victory when one of her daughters asked, "Mom, what's a screwdriver?"
I found this heartening:
Doctors And Nurses Increasingly Report Spiritual Events Around Hospitals And Dying
As it turns out, nurses and others who work with the dying are increasingly reporting phenomena. In fact, while it used to be a taboo subject, the accounts are now coming out of the woodwork. For decades, it seems, such phenomena have been quashed (along with belief in general) as atheism has taken root in the scientific and thus medical world.
That now may be buckling under the sheer weight of reliable reports -- reliable because they are so consistent.

Do I need an umbrella?
Jim C,
When Geoff died, his grandson (9 mos) was in the room. He had been looking at Geoff and when Geoff took his last breath, the baby's eyes followed something up and out of the room. Everyone in the room is convinced that the baby saw Geoff leave. That brought some comfort to his family, even though they're believers.
Lori, Yeah- I would have had that thing hung.
Sewing & crocheting to me is about as exciting as watching paint dry. But I do admire the end results! I like baking the best of all the cooking methods. Especially if it's something for dessert!

Lame commentary Noah's Ark found? Not so fast. Marzulli had this as his featured post today. Interesting though if you think of it "as in the days of Noah". Is this it?
Lori,
I have often wondered about something that happened many years ago. Your sharing about the baby and Geoff more or less answered the questions.
A little toddler that we knew in Missouri would sit on the floor at home and play with something or someone that none of us could see. It was very evident that this baby about 18 months old was interacting with this object and was very content the whole time. But pick her up and the tears would start. I wonder.......
Now I am going to copy/paste and put up a message I received from one of my friends about the reported Noah's Ark discovery in Turkey.
Randall Price: ARK PICTURES ARE FAKE
Many of you have seen the preliminary news announcement of an alleged discovery of Noah's Ark by a Chinese expedition team and asked me for clarification. I knew this was coming and have been praying about how to respond.
I was the archaeologist with the Chinese expedition in the summer of 2008 and was given photos of what they now are reporting to be the inside of the Ark. My partners and I invested $100,000 in this expedition (described below) which they have retained, despite their promise and our requests to return it, since it was not used for the expedition. The information given below is my opinion based on what I have seen and heard (from others who claim to have been eyewitnesses or know the exact details).
To make a long story short: this is all reported to be a fake.
The photos were reputed to have been taken off site near the Black Sea, but the film footage the Chinese now have was shot on location on Mt. Ararat.
In the late summer of 2008 ten Kurdish workers hired by Parasut, the guide used by the Chinese, are said to have planted large wood beams taken from an old structure in the Black Sea area (where the photos were originally taken) at the Mt. Ararat site. In the winter of 2008 a Chinese climber taken by Parasut's men to the site saw the wood, but couldn't get inside because of the severe weather conditions. During the summer of 2009 more wood was planted inside a cave at the site. The Chinese team went in the late summer of 2009 (I was there at the time and knew about the hoax) and was shown the cave with the wood and made their film. As I said, I have the photos of the inside of the so-called Ark (that show cobwebs in the corners of rafters - something just not possible in these conditions) and our Kurdish partner in Dogubabyazit (the village at the foot of Mt. Ararat) has all of the facts about the location, the men who planted the wood, and even the truck that transported it.
To my knowledge, the Chinese took no professional archaeologist or geologist who could verify or document the wood or the structure in situ (in its place of discovery). They were duped in 2006-2007 by Parasut when they were shown a similar cave with something they thought was wood. I met the Chinese when I went with a team of geologists to examine the "wood" in Dogubabyazit and to report that it was volcanic rock (called "tuff") and not wood. Thereafter, since the Chinese were apparently able to get permits to climb in previously off-limit sites, I and two other professionals joined with the Chinese (bringing our own independent satellite data) and went with them to Mt. Ararat in 2008. During that expedition, the guide Parasut who claimed to have found the Ark, was constantly drunk and after one month sitting in a hotel waiting, the expedition never happened. It was at this time that I made contact with Dr. Richard Bright who has climbed Mt. Ararat 33 times in search of the Ark and, with several others, climbed the western side of Mt. Ararat with a shepherd (who had recently been discovered by Dr. Bright's Kurdish partner) who knew the location of a piece of the Ark. Last year we had a good expedition to a higher site (the satellite site) and this summer we will excavate the shepherd's site and have every reason to expect success. (CONTINUED NEXT COMMENT)
CONTINUED:
I am sorry to have to report that this is apparently a fake (and I am sure that the Chinese do not know this, but they do not respond to my e-mails, however, we do hope soon to have the real thing.
I encourage your prayers for me and others who will have to explain this "discovery" to many others - because negative reports are never well received and motives are questioned, especially when those doing so are part of a competitive expedition. But we do not want people to reject the truth of the Bible because another Noah's Ark report turns out to be false. We prefer to as clear upfront in our reporting as possible so Christians (and others) can make up their own minds.
I hope that this will be helpful to you at this time,

Hey Lisa,
I didn't read your comment before I posted my 2 segmented one. That is really something strange. I got my message from Ray Gano and it was too good not to share. I read on the internet the story about the supposed ark being found and was really getting ready to settle in and do some searching when it suddenly appeared in my email box.
With the internet, hoaxes can be revealed in the blink of an eye. Of course, that is also the means of spreading the hoax to begin with. But my question, what on earth is the benefit of doing such a stupid thing as a fake ark?
Jim C,
This is an interesting turn of events..praying for you, friend.

Kinda ironic - I'm in the middle of reading Proverbs. Put my bible down & checked my email & this was in it!
A cheerful spirit
For the poor, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast. Proverbs 15:15 NLT
When I think of God, my heart is so full of joy that the notes leap and dance as they leave my pen; and since God has given me a cheerful heart, I serve Him with a cheerful spirit. Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809)
A happy heart
A person's heart is a major concern of the Lord. God's Word tells us that he doesn't look at the things people look at. We look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart; that is, our "thoughts and intentions" (1 Samuel 16:7). Today's verse tells us that a happy, or cheerful, heart make life "a continual feast." How do we obtain—and maintain—this happy heart? There are many clues throughout the book of Proverbs. We should not let our hearts be anxious or proud because anxiety and pride are deterrents to a cheerful heart (Proverbs 12:25; 16:5). Instead, God calls us to have pure hearts and to keep them on the right path (Proverbs 22:11; 23:19). These are positive steps to achieving a happy heart because when we are being obedient to God's Word and experiencing his smile of approval, our hearts will be lighter, even in difficult times. The Bibles gives us many other instructions about how to have "healthy" hearts, but a good place to start is to embrace the truth of Proverbs 15:15 and ask God to show us how to develop hearts that are happy, no matter what challenges we are facing.
FATHER, help me to have a happy heart. Remove the anxiety that sometimes weighs my heart down. Keep my heart from growing proud. Instead, give me a pure heart—a heart that is pleasing to you. Help me to hide your Word in my heart so that I can walk in your ways and enjoy life that is a continual feast.
Amen, Alesia. Wonderful words to contemplate.
That is a great devotional Alesia. A happy heart doeth good like a medicine.
Kinda like a song of times past, "Open up your heart and let the sunshine in
My mother told me something that everyone should know
It's all about the devil and I learned to hate him so
She said he causes trouble when you let him in the room
He will never ever leave you if your heart is filled with gloom
So let the sunshine in face it with a grin, smilers never lose and frowners never win.
So let the sunshine in face it with a grin, open up your heart and let the sunshine in."
That's SON shine, ya know!
Someone sent me this and I wanted to share it with you all...
"Your love, O LORD, endures forever, do not abandon the works of your hands."
~Psalm 138:8.
Some days we need to be reminded of just how special and important we really are. When more of our lives seem to be going wrong than right, and when it seems as if everything is crashing in around us, we need to stop and remember, that we were created by the hands of God and before we were born,
He has a purpose for our lives.
He understands our most intricate parts. We are here on this planet because He wanted us to be. He is love and loves each one of us unconditionally.
When the trauma of life begins to sweep us away, we need to grab hold of His promise and know, that even in the midst of our pains and disappointments He is there, as he was even before our birth, loving and caring for us.
With God for us, who [or what] can be against us?!?
~Unknown.
Oh no- now I feel sorry for one of the guy's over @ Marzulli's. He got so excited about the proposed
Noah's Ark discovery that he emailed a bunch of co-workers the hoax.
Now he's totally humiliated.
This looks interesting- I'll miss it though.

Would you all please pray for me?
I've had a sore throat and cold that has been going on now for about 10 days. The sore throat is getting better very slowly but now I've got an ear ache that came on in the last 4 hours and I am just feeling terrible. As a diabetic, being sick is a little more complicated. It can mess with my blood glucose levels.
Jim G,
Sure will pray for you! That sounds miserable. I am getting over strep throat and still have a bad earache. I haven't had such pain from an ilness in years!
May the Lord touch you and heal you quickly!
I prayed the other night for my poor daughter who was suffering from strep as well and by the time she woke up in the morning she was great!
Definitely will be praying for you, Jim G.!
RE: that "Noah's ark" story:
On CAF, one of the people posted a link to "Todd's Blog", where he posted some reasons for skepticism. He had some reasons that I hadn't thought of before. (Don't know why, they just never occurred to me before:)
1. They claim that radiocarbon dates the wood to 4800 years before present, but the Ark was constructed of pre-Flood wood, which would mean that the carbon dating should be much, much older.
2. The modern "Mt. Ararat" (Agri Dagh) is a post-Flood volcano. The Ark could not have landed on Agri Dagh because it did not exist at the end of the Flood, and even if it did land on modern Agri Dagh, it would have been destroyed by the many, many eruptions of Ararat since the Flood. You can observe all the fresh lava flows on Agri Dagh at Google Maps.
3. Given that the Flood survivors left the Ark to find a devastated world, the Ark would have been the best source of timber for the first decade or so. I think it highly likely that the Ark was dismantled to supply the growing population with building material for shelter.
I also have to wonder: when Noah and his family were packing feed for the animals, did he also pack seed to plant afterwards?
<><
assuming you went to the doctor? if not better go as strep throats can be quite serious if untreated with antibiotics and if you went more than 5 days ago, go again. you could have a secondary infection now.
done nagging. praying also
Praying for healing, Jim G.
