1Ti 1:16 And yet for this reason I found mercy, in order that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience, as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

gee Lori that's twice in a row.
and Hyde-yer killin me
from last string.
well drat, this will likely get lost in the shuffle of posts.
AR
I truly am glad to see that it is you as I couldn't figure out how you had found us and it really be you. I kept going to your blogger site just after you quit posting hoping there would be away to get in touch with you to find out how you were doing. I kept a bunch of blogger sites in my favorites-like Press i.em yours, ryans etc for the longest time-even wrote Ryan but he must have quit going to his site. I would think of you totally at random and pray for you. guess I now know why.
the digs sounds like you had a great time (after being so sick). Marge doesn't post here so you won't have any one to debate old or new earth with :-)
all other points aside we did really have a rather big blow out about tongues so there are a number of folks who you might remember from Joel's who felt lead to go elsewhere.
if you will recall the folks at Joel's thought we were both men lol!
it's good to "see" the rest of you also.
still hoggin the blog here
GT
I have intermittently hear from Kinderquilt via email. I have sent her the blog address a couple of times but I think because of some issues at Joel's when she "went blue" she has chosen to not participate. she seems to be doing well. I intermittently emailed Forgiven Daughter and last I knew she was doing well also. Was tempted to email her the other day perhaps I should. At one time Grany had the email addresses for nearly all those you mentioned and I keep in touch with her also. I might be able to get the addresses and then again maybe not since she doesnt' post here anymore either. Jamie likely has kept endtime's blog site since she used to post there frequently or at least appeared to the last time I was there. It was and odd title-something about caffiene.
Jim C
Ha-you might enjoy some of his other works. but in the interest of keeping the peace I'll email you.
Jib,
Here is Endtimes blog:

thanks Alesia I knew it had something to do with my favorite beverage!
Ok- coincidence? Hummmm-
Right after my latest post about the cops & praying for the Chip guy- I take my daughters to Subway.
We take our food outside & sit down @ one of the large concrete umbrella type tables.
Next to us is a young man w/one of those script looking cross designed shirts on who is finishing up his sandwich & there was another setting/sandwich next to his so we thought he was with someone.
Right when this older gentleman came to sit down w/him- the young man gets up & leaves.
He over hears my conversation w/the girls & goes to get a knife from inside the store for Melanie.
He then asks if he can come over & sit with us- we'll sure.
So we chat w/ "George" for awhile-the girls entertain him- and then he continued to ask them- "Do you want to know what I did for a living? Now I'm retired."
Finally I said- yes let's see! So he pulls out this old black fold- over wallet type of thing and inside is a "Sheriff's Badge".
(Now what are the odds of that?)
I thought to myself- Ooooo.K. I better find out what’s up w/George.
So I told him that I "prayed my way" out of a ticket today & eventually found out that he attends a Catholic church. 64yrs old & was never married. (The girls we're instantly trying to convince him to find a wife & have some kids!)
The only thing he brought up was a really good singer he enjoyed who sang once for the Pope.
I told him about some end time info & about the soon coming Kingdom of our Lord & how the state of the world reflects this.
Anyway- it turned out to be one of those interesting days.
Now if I run into anymore police or sheriffs- I’m done for! LOL…
NO NATIVITY IN DC THIS YEAR
There won’t be a Nativity Scene in DC this year! The Supreme Court has ruled that there can’t be a Nativity in the United States' Capital this Christmas season but not for religious reasons. They simply haven’t been able to find 3 Wise Men in the Nation's Capitol. A search for a Virgin continues, but there was no problem finding enough asses to fill the stable. Imagine that?
I look forward to reading the Last Trumpet Newsletter http://lasttrumpetnewsletter.org/2009/11_09_l.html every month. I don't think David Meyer is a Pre-Trib believer but by his articles lately, I sure wonder if he is beginning to understanding if his end time eschatology in off track with what's unfolding.

Good evening to you all. I would like to ask you to say a prayer for DH and me. Seems like we are under spiritual attack, again. I recognize it for what it is now, as it seems to happen whenever I get more serious in prayer or drawing closer to the Lord. DH acts a certain way and I try really hard not to react to him in my flesh, but gosh, it is hard not to lash out at him. I did last night and apologized within an hour but he does not forgive me for it and so the coldness and harshness continues. Makes me weary and I just really want to pull bed covers over my head, can't seem to pray as I should. Could really use some intervention from you all here.
Thank you so much.
BTY, Jim G, how is your DW?
Diana
Diana,
Will definitely pray for you and your DH. May the Spirit of the Lord fill your house and flood both of your hearts.
Thanks for asking about my DW. She's definitely doing better than she was a couple of days ago. Thank you all for praying. I still covet your prayers for her (and me) since we're one.
BTW, any good suggestions on potty training a little boy who recently turned 3. Maybe that is one specific area where you could focus your prayers. I mean, there are spiritual and emotional and physical attacks but I know that having a little boy who is potty trained would take one of many weights off my DW right now. I'm sure there are many who have been there before.
I'm a little suprised at the assessment of some that there have been many hard feelings regarding the various theological debates that we've had in the cave.
I joined on the tale end of the tongues debate. I have to admit I enjoyed reading the posts on that very much.
Pre-trib, mid-trib, pre-wrath, post-trib -- enjoyed those too.
I always appreciate hearing the Catholic perspective from Jim C. Been a Protestant all my life but sure have across a number of Catholics that I am proud to call my brothers and sisters in Christ.
I think that communicating via comments on a blog or e-mail or any other written format is a bit dangerous in that it is very difficult to communicate the tone that one has. Some are more comfortable with debate and don't take things as personally as others. The thick skinned folks need to remember that God made some people more sensitive. Sometimes our life experiences make us either more sensitive or less sensitive than others. I think we need to keep these things in mind but shouldn't be afraid to debate (unless of course the Holy Spirit leads us to be quiet which I'm sure is often the case).
Jib;
What has happened to Grany and Marge, didn't they post here just a short time ago? I also bookmarked Endtimes' blog but I haven't visited there in quite some time.
Caffine Journal
The whole controversy over false personas began when "T" started posting as another person claiming she wasn't "T". How sad that all was. As I recall that started all the attacks on Joel's old blog. Lots of profanity also, sigh...
Maranatha!
Jim G;
I agree that debates can "sharpen" ones perspectives on some topics, but I tend more toward respectful discussion than debate. What's the old saying, you can catch more bees with honey than vinegar or something to that effect.
Most debates,(IMO) tend to be more stating ones opinion and trying to convince with coercion than time spent listening and reasoning from Scripture. I am not trying to step on any toes by any means,(it doesn't apply to most discussions here) that is what seems to happen on most other blogs and comments I have read.
I do enjoy, and learn from, most of the discussions we have here though.
Maranatha!
Hi Jim G.,
If your wife would like to chat, have her stop by my 3 peas blog and I'd be happy to connect with her on potty training. I took the stress-free approach to training the triplets (after first trying the stress-loaded approach! LOL!) The boys took a little longer, but they were done by 3 1/2. If nothing else, I'd be happy to just let her vent, too. Sometimes that can be incredibly helpful from the momma side of things :-)
Blessings,
Jen
How will you be remembered?
"For Solomon has abandoned me…"
1 Kings 11:33 NLT
Final epitaphs
How would you like to be remembered after your death? Have you considered what the epitaph on your gravestone might read?
One headstone in Ribbesford, England, marking the grave of a woman named Anna Wallace, reads: "The children of Israel wanted bread, and the Lord sent them manna. Old clerk Wallace wanted a wife, and the Devil sent him Anna."
Not the final words Anna expected, I'm sure. But as always, those she left behind got the last word.
You have to cringe and wonder when you see the gravestone of a man from Plymouth, Massachusetts, named John McMahon. It says: "He Was a Failure As a Husband and Father." How would you like that as your legacy?
But the saddest epitaph of all isn't found on a tombstone; it's found is the pages of Scripture. When faced with the task of memorializing the wise king Solomon, God had some sobering words. "Solomon has abandoned me and worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians…He has not followed my ways and done what is pleasing in my sight. He had not obeyed my laws and regulations as his father, David, did." Solomon was buried in the city of David, and in spite of all the good things he did, he will forever be remembered as the king who turned his back on God.
We would all do well to ask ourselves a simple question: If God were to write my obituary, what would he record?
Jim G only (POTTY TALK all others turn your heads ;)
I purchased a potty chair and allowed my children to decorate it. They're a few years apart, so they each had the experience of decorating a new chair. We put them on the chair before and after meals, before going anywhere outside the house, bedtime and morning. I kept a container of mini M & M's on the counter. They got 1 for #1's and 3 for #2's. Get it? I bribed my children. Whatever it took. One child was what I the most difficult. He didn't like the way the chair felt against his skin. So we took the lid off the chair, put it on the big pot and gave him a stool so he could climb up and sit "high." It was weird though, the day he turned 3 he said he wanted the diaper off and wanted pants. He did good all day and when I went to put a diaper on at bedtime, he refused it. I put a plastic sheet on his bed, (just in case) but not only did he not have an accident, that was the end, no more diapers.
Another of mine needed pants at night till about age 7 or 8. Each child is different and if you push too hard, they'll get upset and think that you're mad or worse, that there is something wrong with them.
***MORE POTTY TALK***
Sounds similar to our ultimate plan, Lori. I tried to do a routine with all 3 at once, but that quickly proved to be too difficult, so I put the boys on the back burner and focused on Lauren since she was interested. That helped, too, since they then got to see her getting praise and moving closer to big girl underpants, etc. We, too, decorated their potties with stickers. Each time they did the job, they got to pick a sticker (I bought themes that I knew they each liked....princess, Nemo, Cars, etc.) As they got a little further along and more in control, we talked with them about a big reward, something they would get to do/own when they could tell us when they needed to go potty on their own. La picked a princess gown while the boys picked special trips to the aquarium and a Phillies game. (It also helped that the kids thought children in diapers couldn't go to the aquarium or ballfield. Then it wasn't OUR rule, but the museum's or stadium's rule and it was something they wanted to measure up to.) We looked at pictures on the computer of each thing, went to the Disney store and looked at dresses and talked about them lots. As they got closer to accuracy, I printed out a blank month calendar. If they made it through the morning without an accident, they put a small sticker on that day. If they made it through the afternoon til bedtime, they got another sticker at bedtime. If they had an accident, that half of the day was left blank. Then they'd work toward that space the next morning. Since they really didn't have a concept of days yet, it wasn't confusing. They just saw the blank spaces and knew they wanted to get 2 stickers in each square. So it took a little over a month to fill the calendar and on that final day, we had a big 'party' for that child and made a big fuss about it. They had all switched over to wearing pull-ups or underpants by then, too. La didn't have any accidents after that (during the day) that I remember while the boys had a few, but not many as they really didn't like the feel of being messy. Our biggest problem (and it still happens occasionally) is that the boys wait too long to go potty and then they don't get there in time. Playing is much more fun than taking care of business! But it only happens at home, thankfully. To counter that, I just set a timer for about 90 minutes throughout the day and made them go regardless until they started going in a calm manner, instead of in a panic. Overnights weren't as bad as I thought. Matt drinks a TON so he always had a problem, but I started taking him to the potty when I went to bed and that seemed to solve the problem. As much as I was glad to get rid of diapers, there were days when I wished we were still in them, especially when we are at the mall or at a restaurant and everyone has to go at the same time! LOL! Last week I found a stash of extra I had forgotten about so I sent those to the church nursery. We are officially a diaper-free house now! WooHoo!
During the hopeless days, I just kept telling myself that there are no elementary students still in diapers. "It's a season...it's a season" was my mantra many days.
Blessings,
Jen
Marge and Grany have felt directed by the Spirit not to post here anymore for a variety of reasons. Marge just recently made the decision-mid September as a matter of fact.
I think GT's assessment of the debates is right on. except that in any given debate each side thinks they have scripture that proves there point. we have a saying in medicine-if there are several ways to do something likely none of them is better than the other.
On a separate note-
Irrelevant of whether we think some one is who they claim to be (as with LW/Wayne and Kinderquilt-and this is why SHE quite posting with us because she was made to feel so unwelcome at Joel's), if they are a brother or sister in Christ shouldn't they be welcomed until such time as it might become apparent that they really aren't WHAT they claim to be not WHO they claim to be.
about the potty training
we did much the same thing. our son's reward was a chair we had bought on sale at IKEA that he loved to sit in when we went there. he was only allowed to sit in it on accident free days and his big thing was jelly beans for rewards.
we went to Peter Piper pizza when he got so many days in a row of #2 in the toilet-it took about 1.5 months to get there and no accidents since.
frowny faces on the calendar didn't work-he thought they were great.
boys just flat out take longer and if you rush them they can end up with toileting issues the rest of their life.
Not to belabor this topic, but I remembered another helpful thing with the kids after jib mentioned jellybeans....
I went to our local thrift store and raided their toy section. Bought about 20 little trinkets (lots of McDonalds happy meals stuff) that each of the kids would enjoy (ponies/babydoll stuff, dinos/bugs and cars/action heros were the three bags I made up.) When the kids went potty on their own, they could choose one toy from the bag to play with. When they had taken 5-6, I'd start to sneak the oldest one back into the bag.
Stickers weren't that popular early on because they couldn't do anything with them, but we did have a jellybean jar in the beginning, too. The sticker chart came later once the big carrot prize had been decided on.
And I agree with jib....boys (in my experience with my own, hearing stories about my brother and now my nephew) take longer to get interested.
OK, I think I'm done now :-)
I'm a boy and I go potty just fine!
Our older son, who recently turned 4, was a pain to potty train. But he is very stubborn. The sticker chart was really helpful though. I got off pretty easy with just having to take him for ice cream once the chart was full.
Just don't be like Obama and get all "wee-weed up" if it doesn't happen right away.
I'm a boy and I go potty just fine!
Davey, You're just saying that because you want M & M's!
Guilty
or maybe he wants pizza
Jib;
I don't mean to stick my nose in where I shouldn't, but did Grany and Marge give a reason why they are not posting? You don't have to say if it is too personal. I miss both of them, they contributed soo much and were at Joel's from the beginning. It is very sad to see the oldest members of the cafe leave the blog!
Maranatha!
GT - it's personel
ooops, personal
yup it's personal
Are there any "word of faith" types left here? Or did the Spirit tell them all to leave?
Too bad because they have some particular insights to contribute.
Ahem...just clearing my throat.
good point hyde and I quite agree
wrong link on that sorry
No flesh and blood bodies for humans while we rule in heaven with Christ isn't what this guy is saying just gnosticism reborn?
More persecution leads to more comfort
"You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ."
2 Corinthians 1:5 NLT
About this week's promise:
"The central message of Christianity, that all have sinned and are lost apart from Christ, is offensive to most people. After all, we humans are proud, and we don't like to consider that we are ever in the wrong.
Because Christianity is offensive, those who bear its message are perceived as offensive also. Stephen became the first Christian martyr because the Jewish leaders who sent Jesus to the cross were enraged by his ringing accusation of their sin (Acts 7:51-8:3).
As believers, we must ask God for the courage to speak the truth and the grace to endure any unjust treatment that may result. When we consider the impact of Stephen's death—the eventual conversion of the young man Saul (later called Paul) and the spread of the gospel (Acts 8:4)—we see that even terrible persecution, in God's hands, can lead to great glory."
Those of you who grew up in the Joe Cocker error ooops, I mean era, will appreciate this video that my 21 yr old sent to my email.
Joe Cocker Translated for the rest of us
News is ready and analytics rock! We had over 10k hits last month.
Wayne,
I'd be particularly interested in what you have to say about the conclusions that Kovacs has reached in his book.
Lisa
I've been mulling over that the big lie has something to do with more government in our lives. more later gotta go
Lori, I not only lol at the Joe Cocker video, tears were rolling down my cheeks and I think I scared the dog! Hysterical!
And about the 10k...congrats and Praise the Lord!!
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine!
Jib,
The govts. certainly are the big liars & I think you're right on about that one - there is also the major lying "signs" -"wonders"- "pillars of fire" coming down from heaven part- to consider as well.
We have yet to witness that future prophecy but talk about a wild time on earth? People in general are not used to emotionally dealing with “supernatural" events & whatever this is will blow their minds I'm sure.
It seems that the majority of people believe the stories in the Bible are just a fairy tale. Even some professed Christians don't take them to heart so when they experience something like this in real time how will they react?
Will the "lying wonders" coerce people into believing the lie that ultimately the spirits behind the False-prophet & Anti-Christ have been working on behind the scenes
in the push for a "global govt"?
That will an interesting time to witness although personally I rather-be out-a-here!
Climate chief Lord Stern: give up meat to save the planet This would be hysterical!! if it wasn't so pathetic-people really believe this stuff.
"People will need to turn vegetarian if the world is to conquer climate change, according to a leading authority on global warming.
In an interview with The Times, Lord Stern of Brentford said: “Meat is a wasteful use of water and creates a lot of greenhouse gases. It puts enormous pressure on the world’s resources. A vegetarian diet is better.”
Direct emissions of methane from cows and pigs is a significant source of greenhouse gases. Methane is 23 times more powerful than carbon dioxide as a global warming gas.
Lord Stern, the author of the influential 2006 Stern Review on the cost of tackling global warming, said that a successful deal at the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December would lead to soaring costs for meat and other foods that generate large quantities of greenhouse gases. "
(More in the article about the up & coming Copenhagen meeting. This must be partly why God will pour out His judgments upon "mother earth". The thing many of these people hold as idols in their hearts & above the Lord.)
Fellowship of the Unashamed
"I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power. The dye has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of His.
"I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
"My past is redeemed; my present makes sense; my future is secure."
"I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals."
"I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity."
"I no longer have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded."
"I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power."
"My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear."
"I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed."
"I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity."
"I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ."
"I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me."
"And, when He comes for His own, He will have no problems recognizing me -- my banner will be clear."
["Written By A Young Afrikan Pastor And Tacked On The Wall Of His House," Distributed By The 'League Of Prayer', P.O. Box 4038, Montgomery, Alabama]
Lisa,
Thanks, that was great.
I may have to post that at my blog.
OK, Lisa, try out the Joe Cocker video on your husband and see if he laughs. I just had my DH watch it, plus another lawyer friend and neither found it funny!
Jim C, anything new on the job hunt? How is the financial situation? I remember we were praying about an error in the checkbook or something.
Jib;
I don't know if the statments he makes in the book are gnostic (as I understand it) but the following seems like an interpretation I have heard before.
"The Bible means what it says," explains Kovacs. "People who make it to the kingdom of God will no longer be made of flesh and blood, but their new bodies will actually be composed of spirit, becoming the actual children of God in every sense. There's a reason why the Bible calls us the children of God, because God is reproducing, having many children to enlarge the Family of God!"
That sounds like the "little gods" interpretation I had heard before. It seems to imply that we are equal to God in some way. That is an impossibility because He is creator and we are the created!
The Bible does say that we will have a "spiritual body" but does not elaborate on that. It would seem that anything beyond that is speculation.
What do you find that is gnostic in the article? I think he may have some strange interpretations and may be speculating on some things. I have read the book "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn and he does quite a bit of speculating but he admits most of the book is speculation based on his interpretation of scripture.
Maranatha!
Anne, Shalom! I had an interview three weeks ago that I thought was promising. I got a call last Friday saying they had offered the position to someone else. Right now I'm trying to gather the paperwork needed to goto the welfare office and get on welfare. I've got enough money to pay November's rent but not enough to pay utilities. Also, the maximum amount of rent support I would get would be only half of what my rent is.
I'm applying for seasonal positions now at Sears and Target; we'll see what they have to offer.
<><
Anne,
I just tested it on him but there was not even a hint of laughter.
I asked "so what did you think about it?" the answer "ridiculous".
Watching the guy trip out on drugs I guess surpasses the humor of the cartoons which in themselves are sort of funny.
**Are anyone else’s kids having bad dreams/nightmares lately?
Alesia, "The Fellowship of the Unashamed" I got from the cutting edge newsletter- it's his favorite poem to keep in mind.
I really like it too! I'm going to print that one out & paste it up
on my wall as well.
Fla. man says Home Depot fired him over God button. Just imagine some day in the near future when the same people who have no regard for God will end up bowing at the feet of Jesus! The patience & perseverance of the saints.
This might be interesting. Chuck Smith will be on Christian TV live tomorrow 7pm Pacific on His Channel speaking about the hate crime bill going into effect & what this means to Pastors/Christians.
I heard a snippet of him speaking about this today- apparently there is some clause to remove Pastors & Radio from this legislation but it was the same wording in the already practiced European version which didn't amount to a hill of beans. They are still persecuted, hassled, & put in jail for preaching the full gospel.
It sounds like they are getting prepared- heart/mind/spirit for what's possibly to come from this.
The only thing left is for Obama to sign off on it. (As we would have any doubts about that one.)
(A friend "Ruth" I made on the online ministry site reminded me of this today:)
Revelations 3: 8
When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go, only 1 of 2 things will happen, Either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly!
Hi Jim- I'm praying for you! I can't for the life of me figure out how to fill out the applications at Target ect.I did manage to get a few housecleaning jobs-and sold my piano-
Donna- I found the DNA article you mentioned. Facinating!!
Lisa- do you have some info on the on-line ministry you're involved in? I may be interested.
Jamie
How do things look to you today?
"The wicked will not rule the godly, for then the godly might be forced to do wrong."
Psalm 125:3 NLT
Seeking what is really there
"Life under Louis XIV was not easy for the French Huguenots. They loved to sing psalms, but the king made an edict that forbade the singing of the Psalms almost everywhere. So the Huguenots went out to the fields and forests and continued their singing. Psalm 125 was a favorite of theirs, maybe because it said that the wicked would not rule the godly. Or maybe it was because the Huguenots could see something that Louis XIV couldn't see.
Remember the story of Elisha and his servant (2 Kings 6:8-23)? The servant couldn't understand why Elisha wasn't bothered about the hordes of enemy soldiers surrounding them. It looked like disaster, but Elisha could see horses and chariots of fire surrounding the enemy soldiers.
The same has been true for many other saints, including Paul and Silas, who sang at midnight in the Philippian jail, and Shadrach, Meshech, and Adednego, who calmly entered the fiery furnace.
When John Woolman, a Quaker missionary to American Indians, was faced with danger, he wrote, "I found my soul filled with comfort as I meditated on the love of God."
John Paton, missionary to South Sea Island natives, was surrounded by men seeking to assassinate him, but he wrote, "I never left without hearing, 'Lo, I am with you always.'"
How does it look for you today? Hopeless? Then take another look.

“No tree becomes rooted and sturdy unless many a wind assails it. For by its very tossing it tightens its grip and plants its roots more secuirely; the fragile trees are those that have grown in a sunny valley.” - Seneca the Younger (5 B.C.-A.D. 65)

"As far as what people will be made of, it won't be flesh and blood anymore:"
""People who make it to the kingdom of God will no longer be made of flesh and blood, but their new bodies will actually be composed of spirit"
are the 2 quotes that stood out to me on that.
Gnostics taught that Christ was not God come in the flesh and also taught that he did not bodily rise from the grave with a flesh and blood body. those who believed in a second coming of Christ also taught that we would be spirit and not have flesh and blood bodies at that time.
When Christ presented himself to the disciples after his resurrection he ate and drank with them which to me signifies that he had a flesh and blood body. The other point I recently heard was that while we will be like Christ that does not mean we will necessarily be able to walk through walls and disappear and reappear at will. Perhaps those things are more because He is also God rather than a function of a glorified body. I also think that the greek word for body used when talking about our glorified bodies is probably the same one used to talk about our current bodies but don't know that for certain as I'm late to get somewhere.
as an aside I would note that I also found the "little god" part of his quotes unsettling as well.
"The other point I recently heard was that while we will be like Christ that does not mean we will necessarily be able to walk through walls and disappear and reappear at will."
RATS!
Ya think we'll be able to fly, at least???
Gay Marriage Vote Looms in Maine; Polls Show It's Close
This would be huge, if it passes. It would the first time that the people voted it in.
Let's all pray, pray, pray it doesn't pass.
Jib, While I have not read Kovac's book, perhaps he has left something out of the conclusions. Scripture does not address this, but what will be the physical state of those who will spend eternity in hell? will they not also have eternal bodies capable of pleasure/pain minus the pleasure?
I think there is much merit in C.S. Lewis's definition of angels bodies -- composed of a different wavelength of light that can appear physical, hold food (in contrast to Casper) and still pass thru earthly physical structures.
I think that our eternal bodies will have that same frequency shift. God has kept track of our DNA codes in his computer there, and when we are resurrected, he will simply produce a new original with an error correction function, a frequency modification function and a fat reduction function. presto - our new bodies.
"Becoming the children of God" idea seems to have no merit to me, as I already am fully a child of God, as the image of God is total and complete in me, transformed by Christ at the point of my salvation. There are parts of that new state that are limited, but those limits are physical, not in essence. In no way do I see Scripture teaching that my "new life" essence will change.
Wayne
Lisa et.al.:
When I first read "the fellowship of the unashamed" I was very excited about it, I had it translated into Russian, and I made fancy posters with this declaration on it to give to my students. After doing this 3 years, I set it aside.
for the shy people who are afraid to speak out it is good, but after laying out the declaration in poster form, I was struck by the first words of each line.
"I'm part of
"I won't look back,
"My past
"I'm finished
"I no longer need
"I no longer have to
"I now live ,
"My face is set,
"I cannot be,
"I will not
"I won't give up,
"I am a disciple
This is all about me. While I am truly God's gift to mankind, yet even I don't compare with Jesus. God has spent years teaching me that in spite of my excellence, there is absolutely nothing that I can do to build his Kingdom. The only way that God can be glorified in my humble life is when I give myself over totally to him.
I would love this declaration to be absolutely true in my life, but it can only be true if every statement begins with "he makes me". We continually emphasize that "without Christ I can do nothing", and "I can do all things thu Christ, who strengthens me". This declaration however proclaims what we will to for Christ, and as a result, accomplish very little eternally.
Don't take this as a rebuke, but rather ask God how he can have this freedom in your life.
Jib,
The flesh & blood part didn't really stand out to me because from the limited understanding I have- we will be "transformed" and "changed" to exactly what?
I don't think anyone knows on this side of heaven-yet.
But the bible does say that "flesh & blood" which I take is our fleshly current bodily state- cannot physically go into the spiritual realm "as is". I have heard other Pastor's also comment on the same. Chuck Smith just said the same thing on the radio the other day to a caller.
In a recent Answers in Genesis mag. they were going over in detail human DNA and how actually nothing is really solid.
It appears more or less solid based on the molecules & what the vibrational frequency is of those particular strands of matter.
When I read "vibrational frequency" I thought- oh no- that new age stuff again! But although we know New Age is twisted thinking there may be some truth to it when traveling from our dimension to another dimension.
Perhaps the key of our matter traveling is the vibration our molecules are set at? (That's just a guess.)
I also studied a little bit on parallel dimensions & how the sprit world can exist in our same space but in another level of the space/time continuum.
Anyway- it's an area of science we don't know much about but from what I understand the “flesh & blood” statement didn’t bother me.
1 COR 15:50
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

1Co 15:49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.
Interesting discussion.
Wayne,
That is certainly another way to look at the poem- after you disected it.
Initially I didn't take it as doing all the things listed according to the flesh but rather I could do all those things through
the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. That was kind of a "given" in my mind since my thought process has been rewired.
I definitely know the difference of trying to please God via the 'I’, ‘me', and 'my" route since that is exactly how I operated years ago as a J.W. I was really ready to seek the Lord but got mixed up in serving the Watchtower Society instead.
Then in my lingering backslid days I was no longer trying to please God but just do my own thing. I knew it & He knew it. (And I knew He knew it on top of that.)
But now that you bring it up- there are a lot of 'I's and due to the sinful natures we are all in battle with - it doesn't take long to regress back to the former fleshy direction.
Perhaps the same thought could be communicated but rewritten to take the 'I's out & replaced w/ 'He'.
Then- there would be no confusion who is in charge of a Spirit filled Christian.
I would note that the first few verses of that same corinthians passage would seem to me to be directly aimed at the gnostic heresies making inroads into the church at that time as it testifies to the fact that Christ died, was buried and rose again in a bodily form and was seen by many (a point which the gnostics did and still do deny). Paul also mentions that some were teaching that there was to be no resurrection of the dead at all.
Paul then goes on to point out that the Resurrection of Christ is the corner stone of our faith because is Christ rose not then there is nothing to believe, the dead then shall not rise and we might as well live as we want.
Paul also goes on to explain the differences between the first Adam and the last Adam-one i s natural and corrupt and the second is spiritual and incorrupt. in reading the passage that Charlotte posted in context says to me that our natural bodies can not inherit the kingdom of God as they are corrupt and mortal. Paul then goes on to proclaim the truth of the rapture in that our bodies will be changed into that which is incorrupt and immortal. So the passage that flesh and blood shall not inherit the kingdom does NOT say that we won't have actual bodies.
I would note that I looked up the strong's word for flesh that Christ uses of himself after his Resurrection and the word flesh used in the Corinthians passage and it is the same word
4561
"1) flesh (the soft substance of the living body, which covers the bones and is permeated with blood) of both man and beasts
2) the body
a) the body of a man
b) used of natural or physical origin, generation or relationship
1) born of natural generation
c) the sensuous nature of man, "the animal nature"
1) without any suggestion of depravity
2) the animal nature with cravings which incite to sin
3) the physical nature of man as subject to suffering
3) a living creature (because possessed of a body of flesh) whether man or beast
4) the flesh, denotes mere human nature, the earthly nature of man apart from divine influence, and therefore prone to sin and opposed to God"
the conclusion of which is that Christ's glorified body is noted by Him to be flesh so therefore our glorified bodies will also be flesh and not spirit

i hop the email I have is accurate as I will be sending you a message via email
1Cr 15:40
[There are] also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial [is] one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial [is] another.
1Cr 15:42
So also [is] the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1Cr 15:43
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
1Cr 15:44
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1Cr 15:45
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit.
1Cr 15:46
Howbeit that [was] not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
1Cr 15:47
The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven.
1Cr 15:48
As [is] the earthy, such [are] they also that are earthy: and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] they also that are heavenly.
1Cr 15:49
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
1Cr 15:50
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
In these passages Paul is not specific as to what the spiritual body will be, but he says we will be sown a natural body and raised a spiritual body. We will definitely have a "body" though.
Maranatha!
"Human beings will actually have their bodies' composition of flesh and blood changed into spirit" this quote of Kovac's suggests to me that he doesn't believe we will have real bodies, whatever a glorified body may actually be composed of, which is what gnosticism teaches.
my point is that Christ had a glorified body that was capable of consuming food, irrelevant as to whether food was actually needed or not, and so obviously had "matter" to it and was not ephemeral and without substance which is what he seems to be suggesting. Further, the marriage supper of the Lamb is is after we have received our glorified bodies how do spirits eat? (I think it will be nice to eat whatever I want and not gain weight however.)
Furthermore the verses that he uses to reinforce his point deal with salvation and the 4th definition of flesh as to our nature as opposed to our actual bodies. He also has no idea of the cultural context of John 3 and so is misapplying scripture.
I think I'd be wary of reading this book and it is so disappointing to see it marketed so heavily when it does seem to have at least the little god theory in it and I think gnosticism in it as well.

News clip from Britain:A VERY WELL DEMONSTRATED CLIP ABOUT WHAT WE'RE FACING RIGHT HERE IN OUR COUNTRY VERY SOON.
Church Of Sweden To Bless Gay Marriages Delegates of Sweden's largest church, the Lutheran Church of Sweden, approved a plan Thursday to bless gay marriages, the AFP reported.
Gay marriage became available in Sweden on May 1 after Lawmakers overwhelmingly approved a bill in April, making it the seventh country to legalize gay marriage.
....
Gay marriage is legal in six other countries including Spain, South Africa, Norway, the Netherlands, Canada and Belgium. Six U.S. states – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Iowa, Vermont and New Hampshire – currently offer gay nuptials. Mainers will decide on November 3 whether to keep the gay marriage law approved this spring by lawmakers.
Lisa
so between Jan Markell and this week on Glen Beck-here are some of the lies that are being told to people (some of which I never would have said that we in the US at any rate would ever have believed)
1-we are too stupid to know what is best for us on any level and therefore government must take over and make all those pesky decisions for us.
2-that even the world stage should be a level playing field. that America is no better and in fact is much worse than other countries
3-that you are not entitled to the fruits of your own labor-everyone should be equal in outcome of their efforts whether they have made any effort or not.
4-the mankind and his actions are somehow to blame for climate change (kind of the ultimate in self-centeredness really)
numbers one and two are the ones that really just blow my mind truly. did you ever think you'd live in a day and time when a good deal of the American populace would be accepting the first 2? I will grant you there are quite a few that do not but I can't help thinking that something is going to happen which will make numbers 1 and 2 seem like the best option to many.
We as a world are teetering on a precipice right now and some insignificant act is going to be the sea gull which sends us hurtling over the edge-we could go either way you know, for good or evil. there have been many such times before but this time it seems that the point we are resting on is just a little smaller than it's been in the past and therefore more unstable.
Good thing we know how it ends-in glory for God.

Calling all of you who pray! Please, please pray for a sweet teenage boy named Zac who the Lord has placed a love for in me. He is my daughter's boyfriend who lives two hours away. He is Mormon. His father and his stepfather are both dead and he lives with his mother. He has had some confusion and hurt at his Mormon church and my daughter says they have talked about Jesus but since he already considers himself a Christian that it is very hard. I am praying for the Holy Spirit to call him, that he will know the truth, that the truth will set him free, that he will be born again and filled with the Hoy Spirit. I see God's hand on his life and know that the Lord has a plan for him but it requires much prayer on his behalf. It feels urgent, as we all know, it is urgent.
Please pray for him fellow saints. I do not know if there are any others who do pray for him.
thank you

Thought I'd pop in and say hi to everyone! I saw "Overcomer" mentioned by GT in the last thread. I now go just by Kathy Hall but my blog is still named Overcomer. Jib, I do appreciate the occasional email that comes my way.
The biggest news for our family is that we've been blessed with our first grand-baby, Daniel. He is four months old now and what joy he brings into our lives!
Has the Copenhagen Treaty been discussed here? Have you guys seen the recent Youtube video with Lord Monckton's comments? Interesing to say the least!
Hi Kathy
man you all are coming out of the wood work! lol
glad to see you are well. Congrats on the new grandbaby.
I saw some of his comments on Glenn Beck. thanks I stay with the meat-no tofu for me.

Off The Wall News is posted. The last link I stumbled on and I believe is some of the most damning evidence against radical Islam that I have read anywhere.
The Grand Strategy: After The Revolution - 21st Century Islamic State "The first and most important measure would be to eliminate the old secular elite." "The first couple of thousand will simply be executed. This is a drastic and tough measure, but is necessary to make them choose subservience and flight rather than their fight instincts." One of the analysts for this organization lives in the DC area.
I told my husband Joyce that he better enjoy his meat now while he can...his response..."There's always squirrels."
Joyce, could you get a hello off to Marge from me. Coming back in for a visit brings my thoughts to her...thanks.
Jib,
Yeah- all of those things are right on.
When I first started researching the Illuminiti & the thought process behind it- it's just not something that we as Americans can really fathom.
It is so over the top- outrageous & surreal that the Christian end time researchers who have been trying to expose this craziness for years have been typically shunned as "Conspiracy Theorists".
When you dig even deeper still you will find that there has also a counter- political "smear" campaign to discredit those speaking out against the global elite & their plans to dominate the dumb sheeple.
So basically the mass media would attack anyone exposing it so that the mass population would continue in their day to day activities & no red flags would pop up because those speaking out against it were publicly branded as crazy. This bought them the time they needed for the masse to be systematically conditioned for the globalist agenda.
(They do the same thing to people who experience any type of UFO-activity & report it to authorities.)
"Are you kidding me? The United States of America ever doing such & such? Naaaa. We will always be the land of the free & home of the brave! The leader of the world. That person is just has some bone to pick-they are really out there!" All the meanwhile they are going about their plans.
If you really want to research it for yourself you will find that these things have been in the works for years. Now that they have all of their key people set up in high places-they are making their moves & are no longer hiding their agendas in the shadows but will try to convince everyone to go along w/the plan one way or another.
The other point you didn't list is that they also believe in depopulating the world as well. The less sheeple to take up resources the better.
It's pure evil and since so many people think the human race is intrinsically "good" they just can't wrap their minds around these types of scenarios.
Is it in Daniel? I forgot- but the Anti-Christ is to redistribute wealth. (Which makes him a popular guy I guess.) The Bible tells us that much but I assumed that would occur only "after" he was in power & never thought about it happening before like we are witness to it now.
This Co2-carbon taxing the U.S. & junk is just so unreal- the hype & the drive to scare the masses into accepting such an idea. Thanks a lot Al Gore!
I just got a new book in the mail called "One World" by Tal Brooke. This the first "Global-One World" type book I've read so it should be interesting. Just flipping though it he's put some neat pictures throughout the book too.
On the cover : "This book explains why America's rapid descent is no accident, its freedoms and memories systematically erased like some vast hard drive, and why World Government is the goal".
Here is more on the book:One World
Interesting comment from Gidget on L.A. Marzulli's site if you have been following along w/Prophecy in the News this week.
"J.R. Church is doing an interesting webcast this week regarding the rabbinical numbering of the Hebrew text where the verse count starting from Genesis numbers each of the years on the Jewish calendar. For instance, Deuteronomy 30:5 represents the year 5708 on the Jewish calendar which is our calendar year 1948. Here’s what Dt. 30:5 says “He will bring you to the land that belonged to your fathers, and you will take possession of it. He will make you more prosperous and numberous than your fathers.” Cool, considering this is the when Israel was recognized as a nation. Here’s another one: Dt. 31:4, year 5727 = 1967 (Six Day War) “And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land.” Evidentally, Sihon and Og are present day Jordan, Syria, Lebannon which were the main fronts of the Six Day War. Okay, so I jumped ahead of Mr. Church’s study, although I will watch the webcast later today to get more insight, but if I’ve figured it correctly, 2009 is represented by Dt. 32:16 “They made him jealous with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols.” But, look at 2010 = Dt. 32:17 “They sacrificed to demons, which are not God – gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your fathers did not fear.” DEMONS, RECENTLY APPEARED… Hmmmm…
Thought anyone??"
Ok- another guy on my Radar-this one was mentioned in the "One World" book.Bishop William Swing founder of (URI) United Religions Initiative. He's a "christian bishop" all roads lead to one type.
He condemns Christian evangelism, which he calls "Proselystizing & that proselystizing, condemning, murdering, or dominating" will not be "tolerated in the United Religions Zone"- the whole world. URI leaders say "Proselytizing" is the work of "Fundamentalists,: and URO board member Paul Chafee said in 97 that "We can't afford fundameltalists in a world this small."
Neale Donald Walsch is a member or the URI steering committee. Walsh's channeled source ("god") favors communism and world govt. Walsh's god says that highly evolved beings-smart extraterrestials-practice pure communism: "They share everything. With everyone....All the natural resources of their world, of their environment, are divided equally, and distributed to everyone." Nations must disappear. Instead, there should be a world government, backed up by a World Court and a world "peacekeeping force."...
Bishop Swings Crusade
"Swing says, he also says that he absolutely believes he has been called by God to lead United Religions--no matter the obstacles he may encounter along the way."
URI- Bishop Swing speaks on Interfaith
......
What he is saying is clear. Faith must not be religious only; Faith must also be societal, reaching all levels of society. A second dimension is necessary. Without the second dimension we become like the Christian rapture crowd who welcome the despoiling of the environment because earth’s destruction will hasten their rapture into heaven. Faith that is only about religion and our own self interest eventually becomes monstrously destructive.
“Indeed, our faith should bring us together.” With these words our President takes a profound leap over the historic tragedy of religious wars, over the well documented modern instances of religiously motivated violence, and he anticipates a new day, a better way of religions living together. This is music to my ears."
......
"My guess about Christianity? It comes down to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. Did Jesus die for the sins of Christians? Or did he die for the sins of all humankind? Or, asked another way, was Jesus’ resurrection a preview of the resurrection of Christians, or was it a declaration that all life throughout the created order would be restored? What do you think? It matters what you think. How each citizen of the Christian faith answers this question will determine greatly the health of our social order."
Kathy and Jib, Shalom! This is where you see the insidiousness of heresy. I have no problem with the idea of "meatless Mondays" in the schools to teach kids healthier eating. I KNOW I eat way too much meat than it good for me. Likewise, there's the idea of taking care of the environment: G_D gave us this planet; we need to be good caretakers.
But all of this seems to be done without any balance! It's one thing to reduce the amount of meat you eat; it's another to ban (excuse me, "nudge away from") eating meat! (BTW, don't hunt the squirrels. We have way too many rabbits around here; no one would miss them, and they make comfortable slippers.)
BTW, Lord Monckton is on Glen Beck now, along with former ambassador Bolton, talking about the climate change treaty in Copenhagen. Lord Monckton mentioned a web site
http://www.webcommentary.com/signrep.php
where you can go to sign an Instrument of Repudiation to oppose signing this treaty. When I first got on the site, only 300-odd people had signed the petition; by the time I finished reading the Instrument and signing it, that number had jumped to over 3000! (Now it's almost 5700!)

Lisa, I think that reference in Dt. 32:17 is a reference to abortion. Worshipers of Maloch, Ba'al, et. al., sacrificed their children to their gods. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who admitted to worshiping Ba'al today. That doesn't mean that the child sacrifice (abortion) is not occurring. What's going to grow is the idea of abortion as eco-friendly -- the necessity of abortion (a sacrifice) in order to reduce the human population and thus save the planet. These sacrifices are going to be made For The Planet -- in worship of a god that has recently appeared, not worshiped by our fathers.

Genesis 9:1-4
"And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given. Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you,as I gave the green plant. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood."
Why does it surprise us when the world naturally opposes God's instruction? Hmm...
I agree with a comment I saw at Fulfilled Prophecy, a great website by the way, "There's plenty of room for all God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatos..."
Made me smile...
Just signed the "Repudiation" Jim, for what that's worth. It's now over 7,000 but the Lord could be allowing things to be set into motion that we can't stop.
I just long for His kingdom...
around here we have waaaaay to many rabbits so I agree with Kim C. lots of pigeons also. I hear rattlesnake is pretty good eatin also

I have never not believed that there is some nefarious group manipulating things I just don't get all worked up about it. Since i expect it it doesn't bother me as much. I'm just trying to think about all things the big deception could be and it could be about a lot of things. I think we may see the rise of the one world government or type of global government before the rapture but not the AC.
did any of you catch the article I think, but not sure, on the prophecy blog about the rise in the safe house movement? there is supposed to be someone you can contact by phone to be part of this either to be a safe house or to have contacts to run to a safe house much as they did in the days of the Nazi's (think Corrie Ten Boom and Anne Frank). I thought that was verrry interesting.
Jim C. That is a resonable possibility although I think humankind has worshipped the planet before. The "Mother Earth" type ancient beliefs come to mind.
A god of Fortresses-Moriel Scroll down to the "Spy in your Hand" & "Big Brother in your Car" articles.
Does this info serve as "wise as a serpent yet innocent as a dove"?
(Cell phone)
Don't talk: your cell phone may be eavesdropping. Thanks to recent developments in "spy phone" software, a do-it-yourself spook can now wirelessly transfer a wiretapping program to any mobile phone. The programs are inexpensive, and the transfer requires no special skill. The would-be spy needs to get his hands on your phone to press keys authorizing the download, but it takes just a few minutes-about the time needed to download a ringtone.
(Car)
The current cap-and-trade bill would limit industrial emissions and force each business to pay an extra tax for the privilege of emitting additional carbon dioxide. Why not arbitrarily assign a weekly or monthly cap on auto emissions and shut down the vehicle when that limit is reached? The new Global Positioning Satellite device would have that capability.
Every American ought to be outraged that such a system is even contemplated. This system is the tool that makes slaves of every person who depends upon a vehicle. Every person should consider just how his life would be changed if he were required to get approval from the federal government to start his car.

The Tal Brooke book sounds like an informative read. I read several of this books some time ago when I was devouring info on NWO ect. I still remember "Avitar of Night" I think it was, where he tells his story about coming out of eastern religion/new age. It was truly a frightening read, but Jesus protected him through the time.

He always speaks of love, love & love.
I was reading this tonight and it struck me: with some people predicting an asteroid strike in 2012, what are the chances that such a strike at that time would be (as Joel described in his book "The Ezekiel Option") the source of the punishment against all the enemies of His People?

Jim C. It is no longer the "Government option", it is the "consumer option".
Ba`al was the god of fertility, rain and thunder. as a sexual voyeur, rain came when his excitement climaxed. besides temporary fun for the people, ba`al worship was done specifically to ensure that people could live a comfortable lifestyle and be financially secure. That silly problem of babies resulting from one's pursuit of pleasure, food and financial security was simply resolved by offering those children back to Ba`al. He did not care about the result, he only cared about the process.
Apart from the name, how is this different today?
Lori,
Isn't that interesting? They are so sure of themselves aren't they?
The Turkish/Islamic Union will "Love" the Jews & Christians (People of the Book) into their fold.
They are strongly Anti-Atheist & Darwinism. Also Anti-Trinity.
The other thing that keep ringing my ears was "$$$$ Money". This great wealth & prosperity is what will attract nations to join under their “protective & loving" umbrella. (Same old materialism & greed to tempt the flesh.)
I looked a little more into the "United Religions Initiative".
Their mottos are really something. It's all about striving to achieve world Peace by uniting all beliefs on common ground but not looking ultimately to the person of Jesus-the Prince of Peace & His kingdom to come.

He knows exactly what He wants you to do in this world for His glory, and He knows exactly what He needs to work out in your life today to prepare you for tomorrow's tasks. What a comfort to know that before we drew our first breath, God had a design in mind for us and already knew every step He would take in order to work out His sovereign plan for us.
GOD IS WORKING IN YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP. MAY WE YIELD TO HIS TOUCH.
Many of the things God does, or allows, don't seem very pleasant at the moment. In fact, sometimes those things are very unpleasant. Because we are not able to see the bigger picture - the completed picture - we don't understand how those unpleasant lessons are working together to complete the puzzle. Sometimes God's decisions confuse or unsettle us. Nothing seems right; nothing seems like a right fit. But in the end, we will see that every single part was necessary to create the life God wanted to build in us.
Those times of preparation are not easy, but they are necessary. God is working in you because you are His workmanship. May we yield ourselves to His touch that He might mold and shape us according to His purposes. May we use our every breath to bring Him glory and honor.
Father; thank You for that work that You have done and are doing in our lives today. We want to be vessels that glorify You.
Have Your perfect way with us, Lord. Train us for Your use. In Jesus' name, Amen. (by Chuck Smith)
I anointed my son with oil and prayed, the fever is now gone... God is true to His word!
Thank you for the prayers for my niece & sister!
She just left the hospital, she has a severe kidney infection.
Lori - glad the fever came down.
Lori,
I just had this feeling you would annoint him w/oil. Praise God!
That's it- I'm buying some oil. So far my prayers of faith over our kid's fevers (not to mention other health related issues) have not produced even close to immediate results.
Perhaps healing is not to be one of the avenues God works though me but I'm not giving up on Him doing so either.
Maybe - "One" of these days.
Here is a great story about healing THE VOW THAT BROUGHT A BOY BACK FROM DEATH’S DOOR

Where do you turn when threatened?
"Send your light and your truth; let them guide me
Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.
There I will go to the altar of God, to God—the source of all my joy.
I will praise you with my harp, O God, my God!
Why am I discouraged? Why so sad?
I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!"
Psalm 43:3-5 NLT
An appeal for guidance
"Being lost in the darkness can be a very frightening situation. But imagine if your were also being pursued by people who were out to kill you!
This was the psalmist's urgent dilemma, and he didn't know which way to turn. But he did know to whom he would cry out for help. He asked God to show him the way, to guide him in the truth, and to lead him to the Lord's presence.
Pray that God will guide your steps.
Set your sights on your final destination—God's dwelling place—and encourage yourself with the prospect of living joyfully in the Lord's presence.
A pray for today…
Dear God, guide me with your light and truth…

Creative Prayer
Have you considered that things, places, and
experiences can promote prayer... for example
• God in History — pray about how God designed
and molded our country
• God in Exercise — connect through walking,
riding bikes, roller blading or running
• God in Serving others — discover God through sharing
your time and talents
• God in Worship — participating in worship music is
a form of prayer
He who began will not quit
"And I am sure that God, who began a good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again."
Philippians 1:6 NLT
Let this encourage God's holy people to endure persecution patiently and remain firm to the end, obeying his commands and trusting in Jesus.
Revelation 14:12 NLT
God's promise to continue working in our lives requires perseverance on our part.
Whether you are an athlete undergoing grueling physical conditioning, an employee struggling under a mountain of work, or a Christian suffering persecution, the key to perseverance is a clear vision of the goal.
While the goal of an athlete is to win the race and goal of the employee is a job well done, the goal of the believer is nothing less than eternity in the presence of the Lord.
The writer of Revelation encourages Christians to keep their eyes on Jesus, who will reward the faithful, and to obey his Word to the end. When you feel like giving up, remember the glory that awaits you as a child of God.
"The writer of Revelation encourages Christians to keep their eyes on Jesus, who will reward the faithful, and to obey his Word to the end. When you feel like giving up, remember the glory that awaits you as a child of God."
Excellent, Alesia! Yes, we serve whom we obey...and what a wonderful reward God has planned for us when we obey Him till the end!

"When you feel like giving up, remember the glory that awaits you as a child of God."
Ok- I'm not the giving up type but how do you console a person who is?
A Christian who did not mature fully in faith before a long lasting trial came - is basically cursing God & is ready to throw in the towel. (No-it's not D.H.)
And states " If this is what it means to be a Christian then I rather worship Satan!"
This person has had all the pep rally advise/scriptures but is not buying any of it. They've had it & just want to give up on hoping in the Lord.
There is no faith in God that this situation will eventually work out for the person's benefit in the long run.
So far- this person is still going to Church & Bible studies but always looks down in the dumps.

This is quite a fiasco:
Apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Knock, Oct 11, 2009 Leave it to the Irish-they were gambling on it.
Thousands gather as Virgin Mary set to make major statement at Knock shrine Oct 11th. The Irish Catholic Church was M.I.A.
Mr Coleman claimed: "I have seen her twice in recent months in the Gable chapel at Knock. The statue comes alive, she opens her arms, a lovely pink cloak comes around her, there are stars above her head, she turned into Jesus, then to Padre Pio and then back to herself. While the vision is happening, I can see nothing else in the chapel." She has told me she wants to make the biggest statement she has ever made on this earth. Knock is the spiritual heart of Ireland."
10,000 faithful disappointed as Virgin Mary fails to show at KnockOrganizer claims he saw Our Lady and that she revealed a 'secret' message.
Virgin Mary will return to Ireland on fifth day of holy month, claims 'clairvoyant'
Basilica crew still cleaning up mess after Halloween 'sighting'
I posted a video link of the Israeli seizure of weapons.
Lisa, you don't know the half of it. Several times the local bishop warned people to stay away from Knock. The "clairvoyant" kept insisting the vision would occur. Now the Catholic Church in Ireland is thinking about filing a lawsuit against this fraud.

Alien Seduction
This is a really good review of the series "V" that premiered last night. I mostly enjoyed the program. Some problems -- the priest is supposed to be Anglican, but talks about contacting the Vatican instead of Westminster. Still it was a well done show, and asks a good question: when does admiration turn to devotion?
A plague of atheists has descended, and Catholics are the target
Attacking Christians is not really clever, witty or funny.
The author is the vice-chancellor of the Australian Catholic University, so the article has a Catholic bent, but he points out several times how this affects all Christians.

Prayer alert- If you could think of Melanie the 5yr old who I believe has "The Flu".
It started out w/a major headache this morning-didn't really go away-then chills-then fever 102+ and now it's the barf bowl plus all the rest of the symptoms.
The main guy where D.H. works is now all worried that he's going to come to work and spread the "Swine Flu" virus and make the whole firm sick- just so caring & sympathetic.
