Maybe the atheist cannot find God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman. ~Author Unknown

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.
~C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain

Some stand on tiptoe trying to reach God to talk to him - you try too hard, friend - drop to your knees and listen to him, he'll hear you better that way. ~Ever Garrison

Remember this. When people choose to withdraw far from a fire, the fire continues to give warmth, but they grow cold. When people choose to withdraw far from light, the light continues to be bright in itself but they are in darkness. This is also the case when people withdraw from God. ~Augustine

When we lose God, it is not God who is lost. ~Author Unknown

Grumpy,

(repost from last thread)

I finally found the article we were asking you about. Economist: Expect Fed to lower Dow to 8,000 from the article: "Fed wants the Dow Jones Industrial Average and other financial indicators to descend in a managed way," Bolser said. "The Fed wants to drive the DJIA toward the 8,000 level, or below, in order to help create a deep recession which will have the effect of slowing consumption across the board, and dampening the otherwise harmful effects of inflation."

Sounds scary..

Excellent work, Alesia. Nice to see another quote from Mr Lewis, though the others were great too. Must take a note of them. Hope your Internet woes have been rectified.

My aplogies as I was remiss in not adding a new post last night. There's always that level of stress when trying to decide what relevant passage to post on a new thread. Sigh!

By the way, Jan Markell of Olive Tree Ministries has a Rosenberg interview on this week's programming: Joel Rosenberg's first message at "Understanding the Times 2007", "Epicenter, Part 1."

While I haven't read any of his books, I have listened to Jan interview him many times.

On the plus side, if they went there and something DID happen, they might get the blame! (On the minus side, if Bush treats New Madrid the way he treated New Orleans, people might elect the Democrats out of spite!)

A Sovereign Revival is Breaking

Shalom, all! We've got some very dangerous situations here in Eastern Iowa, with this part of the state being shut down. We had freezing rain overnight Saturday night, changing to snow. 8 to 9 inches (20-24 cm) total by the end of the day, and now roads are covered with about 1-2 inches (2-5 cm) of ice. Most of it is black ice, too, so you don't see it until too late. All I can say is that I'm glad we had the day off today, because I don't know if I would have tried driving today.

TexanforChrist, thanks for the link and yes I think the stock market will have a huge but necessary correction, as will other bubble-priced assets.

On a related topic, Matt Drudge is also about to break a story about a new wave of massive Wall Street banking losses that I've been waiting for and regrettably think will continue for several quarters.

Also interesting, but unrelated to the above topic, is that an eclipse is about to occur (see Drudge) on the day we're supposed to shoot that satellite out of space that the Russians are in a fit over. And of course, Syria and it's supporters are now promising retaliation in a big way for the killing of that much wanted terrorist

Alot seems to be happening all at once with conditions ripe for a very eventful year.

By the way, here are a few short, but interesting
prophecy videos
from a new book author. I don't agree with the author's scriptural support for a post-trib rapture, and I'm still confused about the whole Sabbath thing, but alot of what he said about other prophecy topics I hadn't heard explained that way before and made alot of sense. Connecting the four horsemen in Rev with what Zachariah 6 says about those same four horses and the direction they are told to go forth to in Zech 6 is very interesting. I also think the author is also wrong about the legs of iron in Daniel's dream not being the Roman Empire. Irrespective of his positions that I disagree with, I think he has some points of view that are certainly worth listening to and watching

on another note about revivials
there was a special on PBS about the Jews in America and I found it interesting that the fastest growing segment of Judaism is Orthodox Judaism! God is getting His people ready for Gog and Magog and that which follows. In fact, the son of a coworker has become Orthodox after being raised in an atheist home.

"Our church world is hopelessly sick. The secular world is so full of rebellious souls and the worse of depravity that despair seems to be the order of things. But, as history proves beyond question, it’s God’s time to speak. A Sovereign revival is about to break. A company of saints -- unsung and even despised -- are praying -- even fasting -- and expecting. The Spirit of God is already hovering and miracles are in the making. Angels always move in the wake of the Holy Spirit, so expect the supernatural to become visible."

I thought that was an interesting quote from Mac's "Revival" post.

That just restated what the pastor from my previous Church had said. The "glory" of the Lord was coming this year and was "hovering" above, not yet decended.

Then the additional point of the supernatural to become "visible."

We have heard so far about many Muslims seeing Angels/Jesus.

Great comments lately...can hardly keep myself from checking the blog hourly!
2 quick requests....
Anyone know of a website where I can print a concise explanation of the dangers of Rick Warren's material (esp. Purpose book)? I need to send it to a family member who is recommending the book to others but don't think a super-indepth article will go very far with her.

Also, I check Jerry Golden's website from time to time to see what he's reporting as someone living in the middle of the epicenter. However, I'm a little scared of him (not really, but I think I'd be afraid to ask him anything because he's so passionate and single-minded.) Can anyone clarify his mission and what he bases his motives on....I understand the ship thing, but I guess I don't really understand what will bring about such a great and sudden migration into Israel. I figured that would happen after the Rapture when the full court press was put on the Jews. Considering Jerry is a believer, he wouldn't be around for that. I'm wondering if I'm missing something in the prophesies about the Jews fleeing back to Israel world-wide in any event prior to the Rapture. My mind is a tangle about many subjects and I have a hard time keeping things in the right column sometimes. So much to digest and compartmentalize....help appreciated!

Blessings,
Jen

jim.carroll said...

Jen, shalom!

If I understand Jerry Golden, he believes the Spirit is calling him to get a ship that will transport Jewish refugees from Europe to Israel. The reason for this is not clear; but the reason is also irrelevant: HaShem is calling him to prepare, and he is preparing as he believes HaShem is telling him to do. Jerry has also made comments that lead me to believe he is preparing safe houses in different Mediterranean countries for Jews to use to hide until they can be moved to Israel. Again, the reasons why are irrelevant: G_D is calling, and Jerry is saying, "Speak, Lord, your servant is listening."

I have mixed feelings on whether all the Jews will go back to Israel. Not saying that they won't but keep in mind people like Soros, Speilberg, Streisand are Jewish. Does anyone really see them moving back to Israel even with Gog and Magog? Well Speilberg maybe but the other two-I'd be quite shocked. I work with an atheistic Jew (or so he claims) and when I asked if he would ever move or if his son who recently converted to Orthodox Judaism, he looked at me like I had two heads.
We know from prophecy that 2/3 of the Jewish population on earth will perish in the Tribulation period. I would submit that those are Jews who DID NOT move back to Israel because they have no desire to know God or Christ.
Another reason I'm not sure it will happen is something Frucht said about the 144000 Jews being the world wide evangelists during the Trib period. He rightly pointed out that it currently takes about 6 years from the time a person decides to go to a foreign mission field to actually get there. A really big part of that 6 years is learning the language. Jews currently live in almost every country in the world-they have no need to learn a foreign language. They are already equipped to be missionaries to the uttermost parts of the earth. Why would they go to Israel only to turn around and go back to wherever they came from to be a missionary? I suppose it could be a matter of training in the New Testament since that would be the area in which most Jews do not currently have a lot of knowledge.

For me, bottom line. i don't see every Jew in the world trying to go back to Israel. I see only the faithful Jews going back to Israel. Those who have turned their back on God and those who have hardened their heart to God won't go back. I think they will be part of the 2/3's who perish during the Trib period.

Morning Jim & jib,
Thanks for your comments re: the Jewish return to Israel. I do believe Jerry when he speaks of his mission as Spirit-driven. And I know he may not understand all the details behind the assignment he's been given. I just have never been able to clearly connect his posts with Scripture and so I was wondering if someone else had a better handle on it. I had thought about emailing him, but like I said, I'm kinda intimidated by him and didn't want him to think I was questioning his motives or anything. I actually have his ministry on my prayer list and am praying about whether I should contribute to it.

Mac, thanks for the PDL link. Will check it out today!

Blessings,
Jen

You might be interested in a blog called Samson Blinded: A Machiavellian Perspective on the Middle East Conflict. Be advised: this guy is very much to the far right politically. In fact, he reminds me of the comment made by one actor who was once told by the director to stand to the far right of John Wayne: "Have you ever tried to be to the far right of John Wayne?"

In any case, there's been an increasingly vocal debate in Israel over what constitutes "Jewishness", mostly because of some cases where some people claimed to be Jewish for purposes of alaiya, but the court ruled they weren't. While the State is technically secular, only the Orthodox rabbis are permitted to determine things like "Jewishness", etc. In his blog entry titled, "Israel is better than nothing", he makes this statement:

A third of Jews was exterminated in WWII. Another third dies out in the American assimilation oven. The remaining third was gathered in Israel from all corners of earth. Israel drained all Jewish communities. The preconditions look messianic: two thirds of Jews annihilated, the remaining third’s condition is hopelessly bad. Israel’s only purpose is to preserve some Jews from the universal assimilation.

The Goldens are Messianic Believers, but I don't believe they were ever in a "teaching ministry" as we would recognize the term. Jerry's postings, then, aren't attempts to link present events to biblical prophecy. They strike me as being more "practical", in that they're focusing on getting their new boat purchased, they're trying to find space to feed and house the refugees they're expecting, etc.

And Jeri, I haven't been able to focus so much on writing scenarios, as I've been praying about my job.

Here's a message from Geoff's wife regarding laetrile.. your umption to write about it must have been spirit led.

"Very interesting! FYI: Geoff actually used to smuggle laetrile years and years ago and he knows first hand about the FDA confiscating the stuff. Also, Geoff helped set up equipment at the Contreras's cancer clinic before they built the Oasis of Hope and we do have that book. We chose Gerson's therapy because it seemed to have more success. Geoff knew the senior Dr. Contreras. But it would be nice to know how to get our hands on some laetrile. We need any and all information we can get, so please tell Lori to share whatever she finds. Thanks so much for the continued help. Beth"

So you see, we need more info on how Geoff can get this... email any suggestions to me at campsmore@gmail.com

Nate....YES!!!

Jen said...

Morning, Nate,
I have been having a shift of late in how I spend my time/energy....I can't get excited about things that would take place a few years from now, like should we stay in our current house/add an addition or look to move to a bigger house, etc. I'm typically a planner personality and like to start the process way ahead of schedule, years even. But lately, I just think about the next week, maybe next month and don't spend any time further down the road than that. It's been hard to have discussions with the family because they've got their heads in the clouds (although we're Christian on both sides....but no one else is paying attention to the third lense). My in-laws are talking about their retirement funds and how they'll just have to wait til the economy picks up to do such and such. Even my husband's job which is so affected right now....he keeps talking about when the builder business swings back up and I just think to myself, I don't know that there's time for the pendulum to swing back.
I wonder if I have adopted this mindset because of all the time I spend here at the cave or on websites focused on endtimes. But if you stand back and look at things from an unemotional perspective, the signposts are all there.
I keep coming back to the birth pains analogy....they start, get stronger and more intense and then there's an end at the moment of birth. It won't go on forever like a chronic condition. And certainly, the earthquakes all over, the steep increase in violence, (esp. against children, IMO), the promulgation of so much anti-God activity/entertainment/sentiments,
it seems the Earth is groaning and Satan is frantically destroying as much as he possibly can.

I have conflicted prayer time, too....excited for the Lord's return and yet wanting Him to tarry so more lost sheep can be gathered.

Blessings,
Jen

Great minds must think alike because I have the same sense and have for some time.

Just this morning I was talking with hubby (after what I read on the net yesterday and heard on Glenn Beck the recession is going to be a depression and it's going to be bad) about things we need to do. We need to get rid of excess junk-if we can sell it and save the money so much the better. when we get or tax refund back I'm thinking we need to put some of it into gold and not the bank. We need to stock up on dried and canned food-veggies, fruit, beans, rice, meats. not necessarily appetizing or fancy but sustaining. we need to start belt tightening. We owe a lot on credit cards and I still owe and equal amount in student loans all of which are variable interest based and am trying to figure out whether I should take out a signature loan via my business for the whole amount which would then fix the rate low for all of it and then work like mad to pay it back. We could at least do the student loans that way since they are directly related to my business but would have to forgo the tax benefit.

I truly realize that God will provide but I'm thinking that even all these preparations will be a drop in the bucket and that we will have to rely on God for still quite a bit.

I'd like them to be inundated with letters to the contrary.

Last week, I commented on having a hard time balancing life & studying. I find myself getting agitated by everyday life things, I constantly catch myself thinking "this is such a waste of my time" I have an overwhelming sense of urgency to learn as much as I can.
The thing that really has me panic striken is this sense of I MUST witness to others - NOW! Being such a babe in Christ, this really has me perplexed. I think, how can I witness to anyone properly? Unless, I use the approach "this is really cool, let's learn this together"

I agree Jen, I, too, have a hard time thinking way down the road. I also have wondered if this is Spirit driven or because I am learning more. I tend to think it is a bit of both but more so Spirit driven.

Good God's day everyone! We are battening down the hatches here in Okieland for a real test run of bad weather, so the man of the house tells me. I still have my Blood Shield up and whistling along. Thank you all for the prayers regarding the loss of our wonderful friend. Her funeral was yesterday and now the real trials begin for the remaining family.

I have to address Nate's question because as soon as I read it, the alarms started going off inside me. I have felt this way for over two years but way back in 1995, prior to any blogs or discussion about Ezekiel or Daniel's visions and prophecies. So I can't blame it on our discussions here or anywhere else because it has been growing by leaps and bounds in just this last year. We are heading toward something so big we would probably shudder in stark fear if we knew what all it involved. However, the fear factor has been removed because as a group we have taken all of it out of the darkness and brought it to the light in discussion. We will know what to do because God has called us to be watchmen and voices to others in the times of trouble. No matter what the days ahead hold for us, God will lead us by the Holy Spirit through it all. Jesus said he would endue us with power from on high! That is coming from the throne room of heaven!

I get the feeling deep inside that this upcoming election will be more than just determining what party occupies the White House. We will have to know the voice of the Holy Spirit in order to know what to do and when to do it. For one thing, we will begin to be sensitive to the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit and to follow where ever he leads us.

But, there will have to be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit's anointing on all believers in order for us to survive. I am not talking about crazy things going on but what if you are caught in a situation like Peter, the apostle, was. In a confined area and not able to get free but the prayers of the believers commissioned God's angels to go and free him. What if Peter had said, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ"? No, we need to know and be closer related to our source of power and deliverance. The Holy Spirit should be our very best friend ever.

Nate, to me that is one of the reasons posting all of the news releases and subjects is so vital to all of us. We begin to see in a mirror the reflection of God's hand moving mankind into His manifest presence. History is being made and we are living it hour by hour, day by day!

The sense of deepening sorrow just washed all over me when I was watching the Glenn Beck show last night. It seems as if Glenn is fighting so hard to warn everyone and trying to make people see that it isn't him but that the real things going on in the world are being ignored for the flashy and glitz trivia by the news media in general. I believe he is trying to get everyone to stop the petty nitpicking and get a real grip on what is sitting right outside our doors before it is too late.

I don't trust the government but I haven't trusted them for many decades. In fact, not since Watergate days. Before that there were events that were shadow driven and full of espionage but nothing like today. In fact, I will go so far as to say I have no confidence in any of the personalities in government. I truly believe that the last days will demonstrate thoroughly the degenerate nature of governments world wide and the complete failure of them all. I believe this will be the platform of the Antichrist also, along with the promise of peace.

Adam and Eve sold out for a bite of forbidden fruit; what will this generation sell out for? Hopefully, we can come together as a body of believers to accomplish all that God has brought us together for. You have to admit we are a diverse group gathered here in the cave.

Well, GLORY!

Nate, Shalom!

I'm comparing how I'm feeling now with how I felt this last summer. If last summer was a time of revving engines, now feels like a time of idling. You don't want to turn the motor off, because you want to be prepared to move out at an instant's notice, but now you're just waiting.

I've been in a flux given my employment situation. When I've been praying about keeping my job, or moving to another position in the company, or whatever, I get a sense that things will work out. It's a grim sense, though, not a joyful sense as I've gotten in the past when I've been trying to find work. Things will work out, but it will be hard.

Someone on Joel's board asked me about the Kosovo situation and World War 1. That could certainly trigger events. WWI started when the Archduke Ferdinand was assasinated by a member of The Black Hand, a secret Serbian nationalist group in the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. Ferdinand was the heir apparent to the throne, but he was not well liked by the Emperor or many members of the court. It took 4 weeks before Austria-Hungary responded to the assasination, and then it wasn't so much a request to find and punish the perpetrators as to unilaterally surrender -- in other words, set a pretense for war. It was just supposed to be a little war, honest, maybe six weeks at most, but then Serbia asked Russia to fulfill its treaty obligations if Austria-Hungary SHOULD attack. Five days after sending the note to Serbia, the Empire declared war on Serbia. Russia responded by mobilizing its troops, a process that would have taken about six weeks to do, giving them six weeks to resolve the conflict diplomatically. Germany had a mutual defense treaty with Austria-Hungary. It also had a plan in place to defeat both Russia and France (which had a treaty with Russia), based on expected mobilization times. Accordingly, Germany declared war against Russia AND France. Britian had a treaty with France, but really got involved because of a defense treaty with neutral Belgium. When Germany invaded Belgium on its way to attack France, Britian declared war against Germany. So, we have the Central Powers (Germany and Austria-Hungary) against the Allies (England, France, and Russia).

The Ottoman Empire initially didn't want to get involved on either side, since it was afraid getting involved would result in the end of the Empire. In the end, after a couple of months and a few German victories, the Ottoman Empire joined the Central Powers. The biggest reason was because they saw the Russians (rightly) as a threat. Russia wanted direct access to the Mediterranian, access which it could only get by going through the Turkish Straits, which starts at the Bosporus in Constantinople (renamed Istanbul after the war) and ends at the Dardanelles, next to a city called Gallipoli. The Turks were able to defend the Straits against a British-led attack; however, the rest of their army was led by idiots. In one frontal attack of 100,000 Turks against Russian positions, the Turks lost 86% of their men.

I haven't felt compelled to write down scenarios lately, but in the last 10 minutes I've been given one. Forgive me for the length of this message.

We now have a similar situation to the one at the beginning of WWI with some major exceptions. Serbia is still supported by Russia, and the EU is a stand-in for the Central Powers. The US still has forces in Kosovo (an Iowa Natl. Guard unit was just sent there a week or so ago). This poses problems for Russia for one simple reason: NATO. Many of the EU nations are also members of NATO. So is Turkey. If Serbia should attack Kosovo with help from Russia, they stand the risk of attacking US and NATO forces. If it's a brief incursion, we could repel them, and the situation would go back to the status quo. If the attacks continue, we run the risk of having to launch a full-scale attack on Serbia, which would lead to Russia's active participation. (Alternately, if there are a number of small incursions, where the Serbs attack and retreat, attack and retreat, then we may have to follow Israel's example with Lebanon and invade Serbia. The outcome is the same: Russian involvement.)

We also have Turkey's involvement, given that Turkey is a member of NATO. This means that if Russia attacks NATO forces, Turkey could and probably would close the Turkish Straits to Russian traffic, including (and especially) military traffic. The submarines could probably sneek through -- they do it on a regular basis -- but no ships carrying men and materiel. What's a growing nuclear superpower to do?

Simple: Nuke Baghdad.

This does several things simultaneously:

1: Even if the actual bomb is supplied by Russia, it would be launched by an Iranian missile from Iran. This would be confirmation that Iran is truly a nuclear power now. The justification would be numerous incursions by Iraqi troops supported by their Jewish-American handlers onto sovereign Iranian territory, and Iraqi's stubborn resistance to change their ways and follow the path of the Twelvth Inman, the Mhaadi. They promise to follow up this first one with any number of others, since they now have production facilities up and running. Russia would voice her support of Iranian actions.

2: It would tie down US military forces in Iraq. The units that were in Baghdad are now gone, and the units that weren't in Baghdad would be forced to be reassigned to humanitarian duties. The Kurds might take advantage of the confusion to launch attacks into Turkey, with a resultant Turkish invasion of northern Iraq. This would result in even more American troops being reassigned to try to keep the two parties separated.

3: It would end US involvement in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo. With the conflict going nuclear, the cries of "We told you so" by the Right (referring to Iran's nuclear program) would be drowned out by the calls to bring what military is left home before they get nuked (and before WE get nuked). There would be no retaliatory nukes launched at Teheran, because of Iran's insistance that its nuke was directed at the Iraqis, and because we wouldn't want the innocent Iranians to suffer. (Can anyone say, "human shield"?)

4: With the Iraqi capitol destroyed, Iraq would need to find someplace new for its capitol. Someplace with a strong historical connecton to Iraqi history, that everyone could accept. Someplace like, say... Babylon?

With the US out of Kosovo, Russian/Serbian forces expect to quickly move in and quell the independence movement. However, they didn't count on the strenth of Turkish support for their Muslim brothers in Kosovo. Turkey quickly moves in to take up the space left by the American forces, and driven by a sense of history, drives the Serbians back to their borders. Turkey recognizes Kosovo, and both Albania and Kosovo sign mutual defense and economic treaties with Turkey. As a reward for coming to the aid of the EU troops in Kosovo, Turkey is admitted into the European Union.

Of course, Israel would go ballistic over this, especially since the missile used on Baghdad could easily reach Tel Aviv. Talk would accelerate about trying to take out the nuclear facilites in Iran; unfortunately, Israel would have to go it alone. Since Russia and Iran have both shown a willingness to go nuclear, American political will in terms of projecting political force would be severly limited.

With American military forces in retreat around the world, just one more step would be necessary to ensure its exit from the world stage. On a very pleasant, sunshiney morning, just before 8:00, a minivan pulls into the Arch Parking Garage just north of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. It parks on the uppermost level, with a clear view of the arch. A family with two kids and lots of sightseeing gear get out of the van, and get onto the Metrolink station there. Some time later, the family is seen on security cameras leaving the Metrolink station next to the Post Office. Security cameras follow them as they walk to the parking area for the St. Louis Union Station, get in a small, non-descript car, and leave. They are last seen getting onto Interstate 64 going west. Three hours after the van is parked in the Arch Parking Garage, a Nagasaki-class atomic warhead in the van detonates.

Because the bomb is on the top of a parking ramp, the effects are a mixture of an air burst and a ground burst. As a ground burst, a lot of the energy is directed into the ground, pulverizing the garage, throwing up several tons of fallout into the atmosphere, and leaving a large glass-lined crater. As an air burst with a direct view of the Arch (less than 1000 feet -- 300 meters -- away) everything within a mile of the hypocenter is destroyed, including the Arch, which is melted down to stubs. There may be some survivors in the Visitors Center under the Arch, depending on where they were standing when the bomb went off. Tons of Mississippi River water are evaporated, adding to the fallout that will coat western Illinois. Busch Stadium, Pinnacle Casino, America's Center -- all gone.

What's more, the main artery of the heartland of America will be severed. All river traffic on the Mississippi River will be stopped. This cuts off river traffic not only on the Mississippi, but on the Missouri and Ohio Rivers as well. Corn, soybeans, and other agricultural products will not be shipped from Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota to the worldwide markets, and supplies needed for the industries in Ohio and Kentucky won't be able to get to their destinations, forcing the factories to shut down.

This one bomb will be the final stroke that leads to the collapse of the American economy, ensuring that we will not be playing a role in Biblical prophecy.

O G_D, please forgive us our sins, strengthen us for the trials to come, and receive us into Your Kingdom when our time is due. Amen.

It's winter in Iowa
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Iowa
When the snow's up to your butt;
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around,
I could never leave Iowa
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!

Just for you my round friend.

Anyone remember party line phones? I used to love visiting my great-grandmother because I could pick up her phone and listen to the neighbors chat...that continued til the late 80s.

Jen, Jim you guys are just young uns to me. I was one of the "Number Please" girls and wore the type of head sets that fit over both ears, and had a horn that you wore around your neck and fit to the front in the middle of your bossom. That horn got heavy and hot during the summer and there were only fans to cool off the hot central offices. That was in 1948 and 49, all the way through to the 60's when they changed the headsets. That was in Newton, Iowa home of the Maytag company!

We had Dairy Queen and no one cruised! It was a time of recovery after World War 2 and we walked in white buck skin shoes and pleated skirts. We had Gibson Girl blouses and hadn't come into the feminist thinking mode yet but we were on our way. Most of the work force at the Maytag company were women until the men returned from WW2 and a lot of them stayed on at the factory but made way for the men when it was required of them.

Got to remember a lot of the men coming home were able to go to college on the GI Bill so the women worked and brought in the paychecks so the men would become educated.

Those days are not the good ole days that some people think of.

Just adding my two cents worth.

For those of you that are interested in how Obama appears in the Book of Daniel as the 11th king, go to this site, and to to the last broadcast (#13) at the bottom of the page. These guys use "gematria", or Hebrew alphabet numerology, to link prophecies in the Bible with modern days. According to them, Obama Hussein Obama has a gematria of 501, which is the same as "Ishmaelite" (Muslim); and this means that a Muslim will become the "Rosh" (head) of America 7 years after 9/11. Hillary wouldn't fare any better, as her gematria means a terrible time for the Jews.

No matter how you slice it, this next year is not going to be a happy one for Israel.

My heart has been heavy, too. While I so look forward to being with my Lord and with my Father, I'm so, so sad for the people who just won't believe God, or even believe IN God. I have prepared my home for hard times ahead, food and water etc, so that even if I'm gone those left behind can use it. Hearts are so hard and so decieved. I'm seen as one of those nuts and so I'm careful about how I say things, wanting to draw others to ask me about spiritual things. And yes, this works, but I'm not always as patient as I should be and don't always "show perfect courtesy toward all people" (Titus 3:2)

Don't get me wrong, I have the joy of the Lord in my spirit and I know how the story ends. I just have so many tears He will have to dry for me. I long to be with Him now, except for the ones I can still help.

jen, you said;
"I understand the ship thing, but I guess I don't really understand what will bring about such a great and sudden migration into Israel. I figured that would happen after the Rapture when the full court press was put on the Jews. Considering Jerry is a believer, he wouldn't be around for that. I'm wondering if I'm missing something in the prophesies about the Jews fleeing back to Israel world-wide in any event prior to the Rapture".

I think it was said some time back, and I know I asked about this too. Jerry Golden believes in a post-trib rapture, so he expects to be helping the Jews during the trib.

God Bless!

Jen said...

GT,
Ah hah! Thanks for that tidbit....makes everything make sense now!
Although I may not share that view (post-trib rapture) I think God incorporates our best intentions to further His plan, so Jerry's work will likely be important even if he never gets to see it for himself. I heard a sermon today (actually by Skip Heitzig) about God's missionary character and how he called Abraham to embark on a mission that would eventually "bless all the nations on Earth" (= Jesus); Abraham probably didn't realize how many centuries would have to pass before that mission was completed, (and is still being completed today.)

For all those with the burden of reaching unsaved family members/friends as time draws down, I'd encourage you to keep that in mind. The mission might seem fruitless from our perspective, but the words and actions we speak and do can be stepping stones that bridge a gap or fill in a missing piece. I had a friend one time tell me that something I said made such an impact in her life that she considered it a turning point in her walk with God (she had been struggling with some unhealthy relationships/boundaries in her family). I didn't remember saying anything significant and I wasn't trying to convince her of anything, but I just remember sharing some important reminders about Biblical truth with her, rather than saying the standard, "That's too bad. I'll keep that in prayer", etc. I have always felt that the Holy Spirit actually took my words and spoke them differently to her, in the exact way that would reach her. That experience taught me not to pin all my hopes on what I can do in my own wisdom, insight, even passion for God. I just need to open my mouth and be willing to get involved and then believe that God will use that willingness to accomplish His plan.

A bit of a ramble there, but I was thinking of Anne earlier and that story popped into my mind.

Also, Grany, I'm sure you've taken time to share those great stories with your youngins? Fortunately, I got my genealogy bug while my grandparents were still alive and I interviewed them on tape - 2 hours worth of stories about their childhoods, raising their kids, etc. What a treasure those tapes are to me now! My grandma passed away suddenly a month later, so it was a true blessing to get her memories recorded. I remember her talking about the War era....snoods (spell?) and painting lines on the back of the leg to mimic nylons (since they were rationed for the war effort.) I can't remember the last time I wore nylons! LOL! Such a different time and place.....

Blessings,

I told my hubby yesterday about the frequency and the magnatude of the earthquakes in the last few weeks and his reply? "Why isn't anyone mentioning this on the news?"

As usual, the news is liberal. They can explain away the "global warming" but they cannot explain earthquakes. The earthquakes we've been having cannot be caused by man.

Mind you, I'm not giving credence to the claims that global warming is caused by humans. As care takers of this planet, we've done a cruddy job to a certain extent.

We need to show our appreciation to the Father our creator by taking care of the planet. Here's where the green p3ace people get it all mixed up; not to the detriment of the human species.

They'll cry about whales, turtles, owls, insects but then not lift a finger to help man or the unborn baby.

Wow! where did that come from?

Anyway, I guess I've been seeing the frequency of the earthquakes.

If only the rest of the world would look and understand what's really happening....

Parker Brothers, the makers of Monopoly, are creating a "Monopoly World Edition", with different cities of the world taking the place of Park Place, etc. They're having an online vote to see which cities will make the list.

In the last week and a half, Jerusalem has gone from #16 to #4! Way to go people! But you know which city is in the #1 spot?

Istanbul.

C'mon, people! Go to http://www.monopolyworldvote.com/en_US/world, register, and vote for Jerusalem! Once you're registered, you can vote for up to 10 cities at a time, but please, only vote for Jerusalem. That way, we can make sure that Jerusalem becomes the #1 city in the Monopoly World! Vote once a day, and hurry -- there are only 8 days left to vote!

I'll try to find the article....it was on an Israeli website that I was reading yesterday. Also, some ultra-orthodox Jews are opposing the inclusion of Jerusalem, saying that it shouldn't be included on a game board that focuses on buying and selling properties since the God's city isn't something that can trade hands. Grany and Campsmore,

As far as the earthquake situation goes, I watch this stuff like a hawk.

I find the USGS site to be the best:

USGS Latest Earthquakes

If you click on the World (Magnitude 4+) Map on that page, it will take you to this page:

Latest Earthquakes in the World - Past 7 days

The number of earthquakes on this page varies greatly from day to day and week to week. It currently has 189 earthquakes listed on this map from the last 7 days. It typically has between 150 to 230ish, judging from my observations over the last year or two. However, a week or two ago, it was up at 307 earthquakes (Magnitude 4+ anywhere in the world and 2.5+ in the U.S.). I have never seen this map contain over 300 earthquakes on it before. This would certainly indicate an increase since I started watching it.

If you check out the following link, it will show you the significant earthquakes that have occurred on this planet over the last 1100 years or so:

Historic Worldwide Earthquakes

If someone is wondering if the frequency of major earthquakes on the planet is increasing, this list will certainly catch you attention. The frequency of major earthquakes occurring on this list since 2002 is considerable compared to any other decade.

That being said, this is deceiving, as there are other factors to consider. The most important factor is how much better we are at detecting earthquakes and their location now then we were in the past. They are constantly installing more earthquake sensors and more sensitive sensors all over the world. Earthquakes that were not detectable a few years ago in remote areas, and in various parts of the oceans are now detectable and easily located.

I got all excited a few months ago about the seeming increase in major earthquakes, but after doing some more reading, I am not convinced.

Most earthquake "experts" seem to be of the opinion that there has not been an increase in the number of major earthquakes over the last few years and it is just the detection that has improved. Others have said that there has been an increase in medium sized earthquakes (6.0 or so), but there has actually been a decrease in the major devastating earthquakes over the last few years.

One of the explanations for the increase in 6.0 range earthquakes is that some of the tectonic plates are slipping more often now instead of having big pressure build-ups and then causing huge earthquakes when they finally do slip.

I tried to get to the bottom of all this and just got frustrated. So...I honestly do not know whether the earthquakes on this planet are increasing or not and if they are increasing, whether it actually means anything or not.

A lot depends on what you think this passage in Matthew means:

Matthew 24:4-8 (English Standard Version)

4 And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

What did Jesus mean when he said, "See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet."? Is he saying that an increase in earthquakes is a sign of the end or is he saying it isn't necessarily a sign of the end? I have read articles and books from authors who interpret it both ways.

I just finished reading a book called, "Constantinople: The Last Great Siege 1453." The book tells the amazing and tragic story of the Ottoman's (Islam) conquering arguably the greatest "Christian" city of all time. If I had been a person living in that city back then, I certainly would have thought that the end of the world was here.

The book recounts that during the 53 day siege before the city was conquered, there were earthquakes, really thick fog (there was never fog as this time of year in that part of the world), torrential rain, freak hail storms, a lunar eclipse, etc.

To top it all off, there was arguably the largest volcanic eruption in 10,000 years, maybe ever, earlier in the year of the siege (1453). I personally believe that life has only been around on this planet for 6000 years, but that is a whole different discussion.

The island of Kuwae, which is located about 1200 miles off of Australia literally blew up. Scientists figure the force of the explosion would have been equivalent to 2 million Hiroshima bombs going off at once! However, the massive earthquake that this would have created does not even show up on the USGS list of earthquakes.

This volcano spewed so much ash into the atmosphere that it affected the sun light and weather for years after that. The weather was much cooler and wetter and the growing seasons were greatly shorted, particularly in 1453.

Again, if I had been living back then, I would have thought the end of the world was here. The book repeatedly talks about people thinking it was the end of the world and Mehmet, the leader of the Ottoman was the Antichrist.

All that being said, Iran (Persia) did not have an alliance with Russia (Magog) and Putin (Gog) wasn't poised to try to take over Israel. :-) So...we are certainly closer to the end than the beginning. Unless you consider the end to be the beginning. :-)

God Bless,
Harold

You are correct,it is all those things sited in "all" the prophecies that seem to point to the end of this world system. In times past I think people looked at maybe a couple of prophecy fulfillments, today we can see that on "all fronts" we seem to be in "the time of the end". A few years back I was curious to see if there was any data to back up prophecy claims. I came across the EMDAT web site that tracks disasters worldwide. To make a long story short, I downloaded data from various disasters from the turn of this century to 2004. I then ran the data thru a spread sheet and graphed the results myself. I was shocked to find a definite trend of increased occurences of every kind of disaster over the period. Even taking into account increased reporting of disasters the graphs showed an almost exponential increase in most natural disasters!
Here is the location of the EMDAT site: http://www.emdat.be/

I spent months researching and could not find evidence to the contrary that disasters were not increasing!

Concerning your earlier post about Jerry Golden. I am not sure of his complete standing on end time events ect, but after reading his blog for over a year, I seem to get the impression that he believes that 2/3 of all jews in Israel will be killed shortly, when the next big war breaks out. He also feels strongly that the US will be judged shortly for our "roadmap to hell" as he puts it. I don't know completely what his "escatology" is, maybe someone else knows??

Also thanks for that post about how God my use us. I remember a short time ago a co-worker of mine mentioned to me that God never gives up on us, but keeps working thru and on us, until he calls us home. That one statement helped to turn me around and wake me up! It was just what I needed to bring me back to Him again. So we never know how he will use us or someone else to wake us up!

I still want to vote for it, but now I'm also going to follow the suggestion in that article and start voting for Sderot! I figure Sderot at least deserves to be in place of "Baltic Avenue" (just three squares from the GO square.)

As for the ultra-orthodox Jews objecting to Jerusalem being on the game, I don't think of buying land in Jerusalem. I think of buying the RIGHT to build properties on the land -- the deed still belongs to G_D.

gt,

Thanks for your thoughts on the potential increasing world wide disasters.

nate,

I just read that "Climate Faulted for Four-Fold Increase in Disasters" article you posted the link to. I am afraid I am going to have to take that article with a huge bag of salt.

They had to mention "global warming" and "climate change" in the article several times. Any time I read an article that talks about those things, I start to hear a loud buzzing sound in my ears. As you know, I think "Green House Gas" (GHG) induced global warming or the new term "climate change" (as global warming was becoming an embarrassment to people like Al Gore when the temperature is getting colder in several places recently) is the biggest lie since Darwin said we evolved from single -celled organisms over billions of years.

The article also quoted the UN several times which makes the buzzing sound in my ears even louder. Isn't it amazing how an increase in temperature of a couple of degrees over a few decades can drive the UN to complete panic, but Iran, the biggest world sponsor of global terror developing nukes and threating the U.S. and Israel hardly hits their radar?

The article also said "Strikingly, there has been no increase in geothermal events, such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions."

Well, it is hard to blame those kind of disasters on global warming and carbon tax them, so they really aren't worth mentioning anyways. :-)

It is important to note that more and more people are living in areas that are flood prone, like the 20 million or more people in Bangladesh that live in an area that is constantly threaten by flooding from storms. This greatly increases the death toll from floods and landslides.

God Bless,
Harold

Here's an interesting note regarding the rapture, that came from Uncle Bob to my mommy-in-law:

Dear Sharon,
We were talking the other day on the phone about the History Channel show you saw that presented 12/21/2012 as being the end, due to the Mayan calender ending then, plus so many other secular prophecies of the past pointing to that same day. (Of course, I was wrong in that I thought I remembered the date being the 24th). At any rate, listen to this: When you look at the two genealogies of Jesus, one starts with Adam and one starts with Abraham. There are 77 generations listed from Adam, which would have been 4,000 year. Divide that and you get about 52 years per generation. There are 42 generations listed from Abraham to Jesus. Divide that and you again get about 52 years. Is God telling us finally that 52 is the years of a generation? If so, when we look at the prophecy of the fig tree, (This generation that sees these things shall not pass....), and assuming that the start point of that prophecy is the return of Jerusalem to Israel in 1967, if we add 52 years we come up with 2119. Then back out the seven years for the tribulation and we come again to 2012 as being the starting time for the tribulation. Everything seems to truly point to the rapture occurring prior to that 12/21/2012 date. Verrrrry interesting. Love, Bob

Grany,
the timing of that earthquake was just to something. We have long wanted to go back to Vegas to see the wax museum, go back to the car museum and take our little man to M&M world (his all time favorite candy). Wouldn't you know we made reservations to do so and this quake happened. go figure. We didn't feel any of it. As an interesting aside however our house sits on a major fault line in AZ which is why we don't have water rights on our land-they don't want people digging that deep and setting something off.

Frucht has several paragraphs in Footsteps devoted to the rise in Earthquakes. He says that there have been over 200k earthquakes in the world since 1900! and more with each passing year. He gives some random data for prior years and there isn't anything that even comes close. We have earthquakes occurring where traditionally they have not occurred.

Lori

Campsmore, shalom!

Something that occured to me while reading Jerry Golden's report. Let's assume that Gog/Magog occurs in the next year or so, and that massive destruction takes place, similar to how Joel describes in his book (i.e., fire raining down from the sky to destroy every nation that has harmed Israel). If all the mosques in Europe are destroyed and Israel is unscathed, how long do you think it will be before the Jews are blamed for the destruction?

One of the reasons for the pogroms against the Jews in the Middle Ages is that they were blamed for the Plague, the Black Death. This was because not as many Jews as Christians got sick and died from it. The reason was because Jewish dietary laws required that all rats and mice be destroyed and kept out of the house. Since the fleas that carried the Plague usually lived on rats and then made the jump to humans, if you keep rats out of your house, you minimize the chances of catching flea-borne illnesses.

So, yes, if the Jews are spared the general destruction that will occur in Europe (and now in America, too, I'm afraid), then I can definitely see Jews fleeing for their lives from angry mobs.

Sha-alu Shalom Yirushalayim.

Ooops! It is almost noon and we just finished breakfast here in Okieland at the Rapture Me Ranch. I am still fussing with Trend Micro over my email cut off and now we are down to telephone calls from foreigners. HELP!!!

I have a subscription to Tamar Yonah's blog from Israel and I found something that you all might get some added insight from. I am just going to put the link up here and you will have to copy and paste it. I can't access my directions for doing the Tiny URL.

www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/3

Be sure to watch the videos she has linked to. The first one starts off in Hebrew but will then become English. She makes Tovia, Rabbi, absolutely reel and her blog has several references to him.

Boro-eagle, I couldn't believe the Iranians would be like that. They do have a real dog for their leader and I wonder if they let him out on the streets for exercise. Just couldn't pass that one up.

Good to see you posting again.

Jim, I am still reading and then re-reading your latest scene. I too think there is more to the God/Magog arena than was previously thought. There is something about that picture of the attack that just doesn't add up. There has to be another prophecy fulfilled to create the excuse for Russia/Persia invading Israel.

Now, I don't have a clue but I am digging. In fact, I am still digging about the 40 days that Jesus was appearing after his resurrection. John, I read your comment about discussing it with your pastor but I just cannot turn loose of it. There is more than meets the eye but I don't think it is something previously revealed.

I know that one of the reasons for the 40 days interval was so Jesus could prove he was indeed the true Son of God. He was establishing the foundations of the truth but he was also building on the 40 days, 40 years, or 40 anything meaning.

You would be surprised at all of the interesting Gospel/Religious Rabbits I have discovered along the way. My notes are beginning to look like chicken scratches and it is difficult to set up a workable outline for references. When I get finished, I am thinking about sending all of the notes to Jim Carroll for his enjoyment and intriguing development into the next Best Cellar. (Jim did you catch that last word?). The type of novel that you wouldn't dare to read just before going to the cellar.

I have to own up to something right here and now. I posted two comments at Joel's trying to answer a comment that was posted here at the wonderful and lux accommodations of Mr. Hyde. I deleted them when I realized what I had done but all of this back and forth is getting me dizzy. So, if you see my comment on Joel's and it belongs here, please say, "Wilma, not here".

See, God did give you a missionary field to serve on and I am one of those needing your care the most.

Have a great and wonderful God's Day everyone,
Grany

I recently read an article at the rapt. ready site which mentions bloggers trying to cause trouble.

Why Atheists Can't Leave God Alone

The truth of the article made me appreciate the well read, understanding Christians who are able to stand up to them. Grany and John and a few others have been daring enough to put themselves in the firing line so the truth can be heard.

Kudos to you. I tried but it wasn't so eloquent, but I still feel the annonymous' words were in a sense, threatening.

I wish I could say what I want to say, when I want to say it. I have difficulty expressing myself at times. Writing it out helps so long as I can take the time to read it over a few times. Otherwise I can come off as being pretty weird.

Oh well, weird is as weird does I suppose.

Hi Lori,
I read that article from RR...pretty insightful and makes me wonder about a few of the people who have shown up at Joel's during the past year. Not so much the obvious attackers (I won't even mention the name), but the guy who was saved (can't remember his initials....was it "D"?) and then never showed up again and even the worm guy, although I tend to think he was sincere in his obsession :-) Some of the description that that atheist gave for his fake persona fits very well with several of the posters at Joel's over the last many months. And I agree...atheists aren't so much in denial about God as they are just plain angry at Him.

Blessings,
Jen

Alf Cengia said...

Lori; re the anony at Joel's, I try very hard not to say anything and to ignore. If the poster is really insincere and just wants to cause trouble, I figure ignoring it would gnaw at them. Having said that, sometimes it gets the better of me and I turn...

I often wonder what T is up to. And I was thinking just the other day that, perhaps, the temptation to come back might be irresistable. Not to say that anony is that person...one shouldn't be paranoid.

Cellar? Grany, you are way too funny!

Alf Cengia said...

Jen, interestingly, the person you didn't want to mention (T?) was a frequent poster in atheist forums. Some of the objections that person brought to the blog were classical atheist arguments.

You know, the annonymous poster used the word "sacrament" in the last 24 hours and it made a red flag go up.

Isn't that a word used more frequently by the Catholic church.

And the past trouble maker claimed to be catholic taoist.

I remember D. D's prayer at 11:32am

I've made a conscious decision not to reply to Anony on Joel's blog, as I am convinced Anony is T. The key for me was when Anony wrote:

Sit quietly before the Blessed Sacrament and explain to Jesus your plan.

The "Blessed Sacrament" is what Catholics call the consecrated bread and wine (Body and Blood of Christ Jesus) used in communion. She's telling me to go to church and kneel before the altar to pray. Frankly, I find that vaguely insulting (after all the contempt Anony has shown us), but mostly frustrating. I have to assume Anony is purposefully misinterpreting what I've written in an attempt to get me to respond, and I will not do it.

Grany, I had to laugh when you wrote about the cellar. when I was growing up, I had no problem going into the cellar. The furnace room, just off the stairs, was a different matter. I was terrified to go into there, even as a teenager. I thought it was just me, until 30 years after leaving the place. While at a family get-together, one of my sisters mentioned that she always hated going into that room, because it always felt like there was "something" in there, watching you.

Jim, I have the same hair response to A but couldn't relate to the comment. Thank you for shining the light on her. Let's alert the web master to who she really is. I am sure they gave her some ground clearing orders.

Now, to your remark about the furnace room: ME TOO! We had a 4 story house counting the basement and we loved the hidden stairway to the attic and the tunnel under the house to the church right behind us. We figured out that owner/builder of the house was a member of the Episcopalian church went to church during bad weather by way of the tunnel. None of that scared us but the furnace room~~~now that was a different story all together.

While we were living there, we installed a new Stoker Furnace and we got called on to help clean out the old accessories to the one being replaced. We kept running back upstairs until my grandfather asked us what in the world was going on. When we told him, he just couldn't stop laughing. He felt the same way about the room and here he was an adult. From that day on, we had lights all over the place and all of the hidy holes were cleaned out, opened up and we stopped scared half out of our wits. My brother would make fun of me being afraid to go in there but he never went in without me and even then, he held on to my skirt hem.

Now you folks that have never had the joy of a coal furnace have no idea the fun you missed by our modern technology. No Siree Bob! You haven't lived until you had to stoke the furnace and remove the clinkers. Clinkers were the remains of the coal after it was burned down to the debris left in the coal chunk. We used to put food die on them and spinkle lye crystals and start a really pretty growth of something. It actually grew this vegetation and the food coloring that you put on it would reproduce in the growth.

Hey, don't laugh and make fun! We didn't have Television, computers and we didn't lock our doors at night either. No one in their right mind would even think of attacking the USA after World War 2 was completed. NO, all of that started when we became couch potatoes.

Love you guys and that is the history lesson for today.

Hey Grany and Jim,
The scary room in our old house was the abandoned root cellar, just off the coal chute (I did grow up with a coal furnace and remember so much from that time...no heat like coal heat in the winter!) Anyway, I was deathly afraid of the root cellar because we never used it (the old folks that we bought the house from had used it but we never did) and also because I believed that it was where huge spotted spiders lived. I didn't learn until I was an adult that my parents encouraged my fear of the root cellar because that's where they hid the Christmas presents and they never had a problem with us finding Santa's stash since we wouldn't go near that door!
Does that make them guilty of breaking the "Thou shalt not lie" command?

Well turns out Joel IS actually in Iraq right now-guess that takes the wind out of anonymouses sails a little. Makes me wonder if it isn't someone Joel knows personally perhaps even from church. That would be disturbing to say the least but it isn't without precedent. I seem to recall Paul having to rebuke 1 or 2 women by name for being busybodies and trying to tear down the body of Christ? may be my memory is faulty on that one.
if it is some one from his church I think the someone is jealous more than anything but if it is some one from his church it appears by giving actual information about where he might be staying could place him in harm's way. very scary

Great Grany 5 said...

NATE that is totally awesome but I believe it totally. We all know that God takes care of us and provides all of our needs but how many of us ever seek him for the daily cares we have.?

Hubby and I were driving home to Oklahoma from the area of the Houston, TX. We were in the flat land around the King Ranch and hungry to the place of rumbling. It was the most deserted looking place with lots of fences and all but not many houses and no towns for miles. Hubby was beginning to feel the effects of our skipping lunch and now it was 7 p.m. and not even a taco bar around. I prayed that God would direct us to a wonderful and clean place to eat and that it be food other than fried.

We were not familiar with the area and we missed a 90 degree turn to stay on the main highway. We were lost but didn't know it and yet, about 20 minutes later on this "Detour" there sit a roadside restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Hubby said "it can't be much but I am past being choosy" so we slowed down to pull in. On closer examination we found out the place was brand new, the food was absolutely delicious and it was so clean it squeaked.

We didn't even know we had strayed from our highway until the gentleman that was the owner/cashier asked where we were from. He wanted to know what we were doing in that part of the country and that is when he said, "you missed the turn". Well, we were tired of driving past King Ranch signs and this man told us a great route to take that was shorter and friendlier. So, God not only answered our prayer for food, but gave far more than we could even think to ask for and then piled on so much it just overflowed.

I like the way God does things!

JIB, you probably hit the bulls eye with Anonymous Mary. How would she know that he was going to Iraq unless she was affiliated in some way with him or his personnel. Either way, it is not very smart on her part to disclose such info. Maybe she tucked her common sense in her pantyhose when it comes to Joel.

Is there the possibility that there are more than one Anonymous at Joel's?

Well, it is Saturday and I am going to take a break from household chores and get outside in the "Fresh Air". We have such fresh air it will clean out all of your sinus and optical areas in a minute, or sooner.

Have fun and enjoy your day

Alesia,

You said:

You are ABSOLUTELY right - you have uncovered a deep spiritual principle.

If you read the Genesis Creation account, how did God bring everything into being?

In Romans 4:17-18 Paul says:

17... - God, who gives life to the dead and calls those
things which do not exist as though they did;

18 who, contrary to hope,
in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to
what was spoken
, “So shall your descendants be.”
[NKJV]

Jesus said (and count the number of times He uses the word say) in Mark 11:23:

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God [literally, have the God kind of faith - as if there is any other kind].

23 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever
[that's anybody - whether they are a believer or not!!] says to this
mountain
[= any problem, difficulty, sickness, disease, lack, poverty, etc.], ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but [having already - beforehand] believes that those things he says will be done, he will have [not maybe, perhaps, or even hopes he will receive, but knows absolutely he will have] whatever he says.

24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask
when you pray,
[having already] believe[d] that you [have already] receive[d] them, and you will have them.

25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

26 “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in
heaven forgive your trespasses.”
[NKJV].

Note also the conditions in v25-26.

Now, here comes the difficult bit - God has set things up in this
world so that He CANNOT answer our requests and prayers UNLESS we speak
them out - i.e. say them out loud.

This is how we put our faith into action (= works) - for as James says:

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. [James 2:26 NKJV]

If you study the NT (and even the OT, c.f. Abraham) you find that people received from God because they linked their faith to actions and words - the best example in the NT is the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34.

25 Now a certain woman had a
flow of blood for twelve years,

26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.

27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.

28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”

31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”
32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.

34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
[NKJV]

Notice that she said “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

She then put actions (= works) to her faith
statement by crawling through the crowd until she was able to touch the hem of Jesus' garment.

There is a lot more in this passage that we can learn from - such as noting that Jesus did not consciously touch her, but rather He realized that "power" (=the anointing to heal) had gone out from Him AFTER the fact - in other words, she took it from Him by faith!!.

This means that we can reach out to God for the anointing power to heal or deliver us without even
specifically asking for a previous touch from the Lord.

Wwe need to search the Scriptures to understand and appreciate what is already ours in Christ Jesus and claim it for ourselves, using the anointing that is in
every believer [1 John 2:27], and speaking out our request, having already believed in our heart that we have already received it. (Note: this is the actual meaning of the Greek in Mark 11:24 -as indicated above).

If you need further confirmation, just read Romans 10:9-10. How do we receive our salvation? By faith. And how do we activate our faith?

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession [by saying out loud] is made unto salvation.

Basically, the Word say we will get what we say - good or bad - that's why we need to really understand thatwhat we say matters. It can literally change things around us as we speak.

As Jesus says in Luke 6:45:

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”. [NKJV]

Likewise Paul says in Romans 10:8

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach) [NKJV]

and again in Ecclesiastes 5:2

Do not be rash with your mouth,
And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God.
For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few..
[NKJV]

That is why it is essential to get the Word into our hearts (spirit man AND soul (mind), so that what is in our hearts is what comes out of our mouths - as per Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind [by reading and hearing the Word - Romans 10:17], that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. [NKJV]

Shalom, all! Alesia wrote:

That's because saying them out loud is a commitment. It's a declaration of faith in G_D.

When you say the prayers out loud, anyone can hear you. My Russian wife for the longest time was uncomfortable with me kneeling to say bedtime prayers, since anyone looking in a window or coming in the door (not uncommon given the nature of communal apartments) would immediately know you were a believer. Believers would say their prayers in bed, so no one would know.

That's also one of the reasons Catholics have confessions in front of a priest. Yes, I can confess my sins to G_D in private, knowing He will forgive me; but kneeling in front of another person and openly declaring your sinfulness is a wonderfully powerful act of faith. If you don't believe me, next time you sin against someone in your family (even if it's your son or daughter), take them to a quiet room by yourselves, kneel down before them, confess your sins against them, and ask their forgiveness. You'll see it's a remarkably humbling experience.

Oh brother, you said it so beautifully and right on the dot where it is supposed to be.

It is our words spoken out that causes the enemy to scatter. But it can also open a door that you don't want to open. Like, "He scared me to death", when's the funeral? Or maybe you use this one, "that one tickled me to death". One thing for certain, we have enough liberal media out there mouthing a depression and a total stock exchange wipe out to last a life time. Everytime I hear that, I just say "Lord, bless them and forgive them because they don't know what they are doing or saying."

The words out of our mouth can be life or death, blessings or curses so we need to be watchful.

I haven't concerned myself about it because I figure if we were going to be infiltrated it would have happened by now.

If people prefer, I can go back a ways further and delete more traces of Hyde but I rather think the Google cache isn't something we should worry about. We only know how to find the cave because we know where to look.

Has anyone else heard on the internet that there is a feeling among Obama supporters that an attempt will be made on his life? I got a message from one of my friends in Iowa about it and it seems very sincere. I sure hope not as this country doesn't need to go to those extremes. Surely we have outgrown that way of thinking by this time.

Would you all be praying that the spiritual force that drives that kind of desire will be bound here on earth and in heaven, as Jesus promised? Our dislikes shouldn't be enforced with violence and I would hope we can stand united on this issue. No matter where you live, in what country you call home, would you join all of here in America to overcome and put under our feet this threat?

jim.carroll said...

Mac, Shalom!

I think that Obama head wound is a real possibility, but only because the Evil One wants to set up a couple of red herrings to distract people.

And Grany, that bit about the butterfly napalm bombs isn't just in my head. In WWII, there was a serious attempt to create a firebomb using spiders. The spiders would be chilled so they would go to sleep. When their container was dropped, the spiders would warm up and start dropping off their perch. In dropping, they'd pull the pins on their little bottles of napalm, and the spiders would then float down to the city, crawl into crevices and cracks in the ceilings. 30 minutes later, the napalm would ignite, and the city would burn to the ground. (They had a good proof-of-concept test when a bunch of loaded spiders escaped and almost burned the camp down.)

The project was canceled just a couple of months before they were going operational, because after spending all the money on the atomic bomb, someone realized they didn't need two weapons that could destroy a city.

I saw this video on the news over the weekend and thought of what John had said earlier about amazing healings taking place as Holy Spirit pours out in the latter days....
no question it's a miracle and a big one at that!

America's Prophetic Future

Jim

Spiders with nalpalm????? just the spiders would be enough to do me in. yuk!

Re Obama and a head wound. I will admit it crossed my mind also. It is exactly how one would expect the AC to act under satanic protection. I would expect a precedent to be set though in that this happens multiple times so that people get accustomed and in awe of the fact that he goes without such things-it will make him more messiahlike don't you think?

JIM! Do you mean to tell me that someone in WW2 had just as good an imagination as you do and actually carried this scheme out? Did they parachute the spiders in to keep from blowing them all to bits?

MAC, I have spent the morning watching the link you posted with Perry Stone and Joe Van Hoevering. Then I noticed that Bill Cloud is also featured so I am in the process of watching his segments also. I highly recommend the whole shebang.

I just had a long chat with hubby and he thinks we are all crazy. He smirks at the conversations of prophecy and praying about things. I am praying that he have a Damascus Road Experience with Jesus Christ before it is too late. I might have to give him up for Lent.

Or should that be LINT?

Grany,
What was the Perry Stone interview about, in general? With Dial Up, I am limited, so if you feel like it, I would appreciate the major points :) Thanks.

I can also understand your irritation with Jim. However, it's just another opportunity to laugh at the devil, and continue to claim Jim's salavation.
Remember Joshua 24:15 b,
"but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
As you recently reminded me, "the battlefield is in the Mind." Amen? Amen.

May the joy of the Lord flood your spirit, soul and body, in the name of Jesus! Along with everyone else.

This is Sunday, and the evil one loves to cause strife on the Lord's Day. But,......Jeuus is Lord! And not only on Sunday, amen?

People,

I think we need to focus on prayer for Israel...NOW!!

Palestinians plan mass rush on Gazan-Israeli border Monday

This could become an absolute nightmare for for Israel, as I do not think that Olmert's government is at all ready to deal effectively with this kind of mass infiltration, without incurring massive condemnation from the rest of the world.

Yet this would constitute an invasion by another country's forces - namely Gaza, since it is run by the "democratically" elected Hamas government, and Israel at present has no permanent presence in Gaza, and under international law a country is allowed to defend itself.

This could trigger a much wider ME conflict (with Hezbollah, Syria, Iran) if it gets out of hand, or it seems as though Israel has deliberately targeted civilians

Y'all were talking about possible head wound. I was wondering what would happen if Sharon suddenly came out from his stroke induced coma after 3 1/2 years... Just a thought. You know how imaginations run wild among certain sectors.

Our pastor's sermon today was from Luke. He was talking about temptation. It was wonderful. I came home to my computer and looked at my email. God's daily promises devotion was there... on temptation of all things. I'm now wondering if we are going to go thru a period of tempting by the enemy.

One of the things our pastor mentioned is that Jesus was tempted at the highest point of the holiest site. Another thing he mentioned was that Satan tempted him to jump because he "was the son of God" and the angels would protect him..."lest you dash your foot upon a stone.

Which brings to mind, that Satan tempted Jesus by twisting scripture.

Interestingly enough, the pastor mentioned that the scripture Satan used against Jesus was actually about protecting from "falling" but not for "jumping."

Let's stay on guard for these attacks... they can happen at the holiest of sites, even at your church. And don't jump into temptation. If you fall, he will be there to forgive and then redirect you on the straight and narrow.

Boy, I feel like a dufus! After having major connectivity problems, replacing hardware, etc. I just realized it's because my wireless router wasn't secured & someone was hacking into it. I'm now secure & back to being lightning fast.

Has anyone heard of the Net Bible from Bible.org? I just received one as a gift, what I really like is the translations of Hebrew, Aramaic & Greek. Please let me know your thoughts, if you have any.

Mac - great videos from Perry Stone.

I was listening to a guest speaker on a Christian radio show, going on & on about how great Obama was (It really annoyed me) He was giving callers a really hard time that were speaking poorly of Obama. Anyway, it got me to thinking: Surely, Obama has heard all this messiah-like talk about him. Don't you think if he was really a Christian he would be rebuking people for talking such garbage. If someone were speaking about me that way, I would be screaming from the rooftops at how ludicrous that was. Why isn't he???

Also, a caller was trying to get the point across about Obama having Muslim affiliations. They attempted to make a rather good point: With all this talk about his father being Muslim & siblings & step-father, etc., what matters most, right now, is what Muslims think he is. He can say he is Christian (if he truly is, that's great) But what's important for the world is how muslims see him. If they see him as a muslim deserter, then he is an infidal, worthy of death.

Wilma, I will pray for your Jim.
But I have to say, are you sure he's not pulling your chain? I can't imagine anyone in your close proximity not coming to the Lord. I've never met you, woman, & I can't tell you how much you've helped me grow in Him!

I've heard the Net Bible is a worthy translation with copious notes. You can actually download the Bible onto your computer and there is a free (limited notes) download version for E-Sword.

I have a prayer that I would like to use.
Say the word, brother.

New post is up.

It's not the original prayer I had in mind. Upon reading it again, I thought it sounded too sinister.
Here was the original one I was going to use:

May the Name of Jesus, the Son of God, who is mightier than all the hosts of Satan, and more glorious than all the angels of Heaven, abide with you in your going out and your coming in; by day and by night; at morning and evening; at all times and in all places.

May the Name of Jesus protect, defend and deliver you from the wrath of evil persons; from the assaults of evil spirits; from foes invisible; from the snares of the Evil One; and from all low passions that beguile the soul and the body.

May the Name of Jesus protect, defend and deliver you.
And the Blessing of God Almighty, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, be with you this day and always.
Amen.

Alesia, Loved your prayer. I think you should post it on the new page too. Just a thought.

By the way, Jim is serious and feels we are simple minded for believing in something so unreasonable in natural things like birth, resurrection, walking around after he died, etc. I might add that he has a masters degree in Psychology and thinks "Fraud" is the only smart person that ever understood what humanity is all about.

OH, Please Alesia do pray for him.

Thanks eternally,
Grany
